Venti was in his room as he lied on his side on the bed, curled up into a ball. Tears coming out of his eyes, he was trying his best to not make a noise, but sniffles were the only sounds coming out of him. He couldn't take this anymore, he wanted to disappear without a trace.

‘God.. Why?..' He thought to himself as he curled in tighter, as more tears began to flow down. His mother just now came into his room and started yelling trying to 'lecture' him when she found out his grades have been dropping down, is that his fault though? Whenever he comes back from school he has to deal with his emotionally abusive parents,

it's the worst.

Venti let out a slight gasp once he heard a knock on the door, he immediately sat up on his bed as he stared at his closed door. After a few seconds he finally responded, 

"C-come in!" he yelled out with a brittle voice, the door slowly opened, revealing Zhongli, his childhood best-friend.

Venti's eyes faintly widened when he saw him walk in, Zhongli was the only one who was allowed at Venti's house since they knew each-other since they were kids. Zhongli looked at Venti with a look of worry and sadness, he quickly shut the door behind him and walked over to Venti, sitting down next to him on the bed.

Venti stared at Zhongli with teary eyes and furrowed eyebrows, you could still hear some sniffles coming out of him as well. Zhongli softly sighed as he put a hand on his shoulder and leaning him in closer for a side hug.

Venti almost bursted out into a loud cry as he hugged him back immediately, hiding his face in his shoulder.

"It's going to be okay, Ven. I'm here for you, let it all out, I'm not leaving your side."

That sentence got to him. Venti sobbed as he held onto Zhongli even tighter, he spoke up,

"I-I'm sorry you had to see me like this..-! I'm just so.. I-" His voice cracking a bit, Venti wasn't able to finish speaking because of the constant stuttering and the cries coming out of him.

He decided to just not say anything and continued to sob in Zhongli's arms, "I know, I know, shhh.. Don't worry." Zhongli replied in his soft, deep voice. He hugged Venti close to his chest, he had his hand on the back of Venti's head as the other one was soothingly rubbing his back to get him to relax a bit.

Zhongli deep inside felt bad for Venti, he was so worried. Zhongli wasn't going to leave Venti's side anytime soon now and he knows it, he would stay overnight in his house if he had to just so he could make sure Venti was safe.

After quite a while, Venti seemingly started to calm down as he was beginning to breathe quite normally than before, and the arms that were tightly wrapped around Zhongli loosened up a bit.

Venti had his head on Zhongli's chest, he wasn't crying as much anymore, only just some faint sniffles. A few moments passed before Venti slightly tilted his head up to look at Zhongli, he saw a slight smile on Zhongli's face. "Well? How are you?" Zhongli playfully teased, you may think that it isn't the right time to be joking around, but for Venti that's how you get to slightly lighten up the mood for him after a breakdown.

Venti smiled and chuckled a bit, "Oh shut up!" he giggled, pulling away from him. It was silent for several seconds before Venti spoke up again,

"Zhongli.. Could you stay for the night? Please?" Venti asked in a quiet voice as he looked at Zhongli with desperation. Zhongli stared at him with a slight smile and slowly nodded,

"Why, of course." he responds.

Venti's smile grew, he jumped onto Zhongli, tackling him excitedly as he laughed, Zhongli became suddenly aware and laughed along with him as he carefully wrapped his arms around Venti. It was like all the pain Venti was going through immediately vanished, he just wanted to enjoy his time with Zhongli, for now.
