Chapter Text
Your house wasn’t far out of town, not really. It was only twenty minutes away from the nearest mall, but between you and the town was mainly farmland so it wasn’t unusual to only see a handful of cars. What wasn’t usual, however, was to see a dog chained up to a fence post only a minute from your driveway. You’d just been grabbing some new shoes, and there definitely hadn’t been the dog on the way to the mall.
There was no way you couldn’t stop, so you pulled over and stopped just before the dog before getting out and slowly walking towards the dog. The dog sat, looking at you and not making a sound. It didn’t look sick or injured which made you happy, the black coat was shiny and seemed well groomed. Another step, but this time a sound stopped you. Another car had pulled in behind yours. The second car was much bigger than yours, a proper 4x4 truck but clearly well maintained. A single, blonde hair, broad shouldered and amazingly attractive man stepped out. His deep red jumper was pulled tight across his chest and for a moment you forgot all about the dog.
“Everything alright?” His voice was deep and melodic. He stood tall, confidence oozed from him as he started walking your way.
You smiled sadly at him, gesturing to the dog. “I just saw this poor guy chained up.”
The man took a few strides to reach you, “who would leave a dog out here like this?” The dog barked, his tail started to wag slowly as the two of you stood only a few paces away from it. You waved at the dog, and when you looked back the man was looking at you.
“I don’t know. It’s awful. He looks okay though.”
“That’s good. Have you called the pound?”
“No, not yet.”
“Why don’t you go and call them?” His question didn’t seem very questioning, but you didn’t think anything of it. “I’ll try and get closer-” you went to argue, wanting to stay with the dog, when he continued on. “We don’t want you getting bitten, do we?” His voice had an almost patronising tone to it but you followed his direction and walked back to your car.
Leaning in through the passenger side door, you reached in to grab your phone. You didn’t hear anything strange. But when you stood up, your back collided with another. You gasped out, but before you could spin around one arm wrapped itself around your waist and another covered your mouth. The gloved hand was holding you hard enough against you that your teeth were pushed into your lips and the grip on your hip was almost painful. It was all happening so fast. You went to try and hit the person behind you, but he stepped back, pulling you along.
Another set of hands grabbed both of your flailing hands. It took your brain far too long to process that there were two of them. Both your hands were transferred to one of the second man’s hands and even then there was no chance of getting out of his grip. Out of the corner of your eye you saw a flash of blonde. The second hand reached up and smoothed some hair across your forehead. You continued to struggle as much as you could, which amounted to a weak wiggle and muffled screaming. Both of them seemed so strong compared to you, even lifting your legs to kick seemed impossible with the tight grip they had on you.
It had only been a few seconds but it seemed to stretch on and on. The one holding you from behind lent his head forward to rest it close to your ear. “Hush, girly, everything’s okay.” In reply you started screaming louder, trying to bite down on his hand. Your hands were still clasped in an iron grip. “So noisy,” the man laughed. Laughed. He was laughing as he practically pinned you against a car.
Your mind was whirling. What was actually happening? Were they about to kill you and leave you for dead on the side of the road? Were you being taken for ransom - what ransom?
The men were talking again, muffled against the pounding in your head. You felt like you were underwater. The gloved hand was covering your mouth still, making it hard to breath which wasn’t helping the confusion, fear and pounding. His hand slipped slightly and you gasped as he readjusted. In the background, you could vaguely hear the dog barking. It must have only been a few seconds since you’d been pinned. Seemed like a lifetime. The blonde by your side reached around you, cupping both your cheek and the other man’s hand covering your face. He twisted his body so he was leaning in to face you. The happy grin and sparkling eyes scared you to no end.
“Don’t worry.” The grips tightened across your body. He started moving again, his arm coming up in between the two of you. His hand was closed around something which he held up for you to see. A syringe. You started screaming and thrashing. Tears were streaming down your face. Is this how you died? They just laughed. “Don’t worry,” he repeated. “This is just going to put you to sleep for a little bit.”
“Hear that, girly, just a little nap?”
The blonde uncapped it, lining it up with your neck. The second man’s grip tightened on your face, pulling your head away so your neck was laid bare. There was a small prick, you hardly felt it against everything else.
Instantly you felt a heaviness creeping over your body. The grips started to loosen, tingles spreading where they had been holding you. Tears kept falling as the man at your back held you up. As the heaviness continued to spread you felt the whole world slipping away from you. Bit by bit you feel into the darkness. As you did you felt one of the men press his lips to your cheek.
“Good girl.”

Waking up wasn’t pleasant. It was heavy and cold. Your bed wasn’t right and both of your arms seemed to be weighed down. The world seemed distant as you struggled to wake up from the strange feelings. Cold sunlight seemed to be streaming directly onto your face and closed eyes. You blinked them open, squeezing them closed when light blinded you, and trying again. It was then when you were terrorised with the memory of what had happened. It had to be a dream, right? It wasn’t real. You were just in your bed, after having a strange nightmare. That was all.
As your eyes adjusted to the light the sinking feeling of reality settled across your weighed down body. The wooden roof was a far cry from the white washed view that greeted you in your own house. The wood grains swirled in your vision as you tried to push through the haze that seemed to surround you and your awareness. You hummed slightly, trying to move in any possible way. Your lips tingled slightly. It felt like there was a weight on your chest as you tried to sit up on the bed.
This couldn’t be happening.
There were sounds coming from somewhere. You couldn’t make it out, everything blurred together in one muffled sound which seemed to come from everywhere at once. Thumping sounds echoed around. Somewhere it sounded like a machine whirling. Time seemed to move sluggishly as you tried to pull yourself together and wake yourself up. You started moving your feet back and forth, feeling your toes touch each time. Then it was your fingers. After that it started happening faster and faster, feelings coming back to you. There were thick warm socks on your feet, socks you weren’t wearing in your car. You didn’t let yourself think about that for too long. The fog started lifting and life got clearer and clearer as time marched on.
“Soon - down - calm.” The sounds started to become clearer as well. The thumping sound had stopped, the machine whirring was quieter and words had come back. His voice was deep and choppy, still not fully formed. “Ours.” The words meant nothing. Another voice joined in the sounds, another man - not as deep but too quiet to hear anything of note. He was nothing more than a strange hum joining the sounds. The whirring lessened as you were able to move your shoulders slightly. The thumping - footsteps you thought - started again before fading out.
Two men, drugged and in a room that wasn’t your own - that’s all you knew so far.
You had been kidnapped.
They’d ambushed you, holding you so tightly that you could feel your fat lip. You had been pinned against one of them, the blonde man injecting your neck and one of them kissed your check. You could still feel the ghost of their lips on your skin. The ghost of their hands holding you, clutching at you. They had taken you somewhere else. Leaving you drugged up in a bed. Helpless. They’d taken your shoes and changed your socks, and the jumper you had been wearing was gone if the coldness on your arms was anything to go by.
You blinked again, this time your eyes adjusted well enough to see more and your head could finally move. A moment later you were able to push yourself up to a sitting position. The room spun around, but settled quickly. It wasn’t much. The bed was opposite the only door, a wooden 2 door wardrobe to your left and a small desk to your left with a little window sitting above it. It was probably as long as your arm but only as high as your hand, and it didn’t look like it could be opened.
On the desk was a bottle of water. It was then when you felt the dryness in your throat. You didn’t touch the bottle.
After everything settled you stood up, again there was a moment of dizziness before you were able to steady yourself. You went to the window first. You were right, there was no way to open it. Outside were just a lot of trees. Nothing other than trees. You tried to peer around, to see more of the scene but it was all just bare trees with some piles of leaves piled around - clearly maintained by a person.
The thumping footsteps picked back up, heading towards you. You backed up as they came towards the door, your back pushed against the wall. The handle moved once, twice and then the door was pushed open.
Standing there were the two men, they were smiling at you. A laid back, easy kind of a smile that reached their eyes - not the smile you were expecting. It almost made the situation worse to see. The blonde you recognised. The brunette you didn’t. Tears pricked at your eyes as the three of them stood silently.
“How are you feeling?” The blonde one asked. As if he hadn’t drugged you. “Y/N?” You didn’t reply. They knew your name. “Doll?”
“What?” You croaked out. Your head was spinning again and this time it wasn’t the drugs.
“Are you okay, doll?
“Girly’s still drugged up,” the brunette chuckled.
“Where am I?”
The blonde stepped forward again, he was so close you could smell his cologne. “I know you must be feeling a little funny,” he replied slowly, “but don’t worry. It was just a little sleeping-aid.”
“What?”
“We wanted it to be,” the brunette paused, “easy for you.”
“Where am I? Please?”
The brunette pushed himself off the doorframe, walking past the blonde - you tried to push yourself further into the wall. He sat down on the end of the single bed, throwing his legs over the edge to face you. “Stevie here got the aid, he said you’d only be out for half an hour, didn’t mention how dizzy you would be.”
“Sorry about that,” the blonde - Stevie? - said so casually. You couldn’t even focus on what he was really saying, the dizziness was starting to come back.
“What happened?”
“Do you know any words other than ‘what’?” The brunette asked. Your stomach started churning as they spoke.
Steve(?) huffed, “don’t be rude. She’s still out of it. Don’t worry, Doll, your head will clear up soon and then we can -” he cut himself off as you swayed around once before pitching forward. Steve caught you around the waist, holding you up against his chest. “Poor doll, I’m really sorry I must have given you too much.”
“Here,” the brunette stood up, and helped Steve lay you down on the bed again. You didn’t fight it, the strange muffled sensation covering you again as they lay you down. Someone stroked your face gently as you drifted off again.
Chapter Text
When you woke up next, your body felt normal. You blinked away the sleep, you pushed yourself up to a sitting position. The room didn’t spin this time, there was less light in the room - the sun disappearing at the bottom of the window. There was no adjustment period this time, you knew exactly what had happened from the moment you opened your eyes. You had been taken and you were somewhere with your captors. You didn’t know why but you knew that much.
No sounds came from outside your door as you stood and made your way to the door. Your jumper had been taken, leaving you in black pants and your top. Your shoes had been taken as well, replaced with light pink thick socks. You were just thankful there were no chains around your ankles. There was a cold nip in the air, you wrapped your arms around yourself as you made it to the door. Still, no sounds.
You reached out, touching the metal handle softly like it might explode. You didn’t know what you would see on the other side of it, you almost didn’t want to open the door. But when you pulled it open it was almost a surprise to see a completely normal house. It looked like a classic log cabin style house. The walls were wooden, the furnishings modest. A simple rug ran along the hallway, and there were only 3 other doors in the hallway. There were no windows in the hall, but the cabinet had a mirror above it which reflected light across - if you weren’t being held against your will you’d have liked the house.
A slight scuffle sound came from your right, so you went left. You took the door at the end of the hallway, pushing it open slowly. No sound came from it, your shoulders relaxed as you stepped in. You had entered the main area - a living room to your left, a kitchen ahead and dining room to your right. Nothing fancy, but just a normal house. In between the sofa and the kitchen was a door. It must have been the front door. You peered around again, there was no sign of life.
Quickly, but as quietly as possible, you made your way across the spacious room and towards the door. There was a chain across the door. You undid it. You went to push on the door handle when it lit up. An electronic keypad appeared above the silver handle. You tried to open the door, to move the handle, but nothing happened. The keypad flashed again. You pushed again. It flashed again. Again and again. Tears pricked at your eyes.
“It’s locked, girly,” you spun around at the voice. Steve and the brunette were standing right there. Steve had entered the room, but was only a step away from the door. The brunette was still in the doorway. He smiled at you as your eyes met. “We’re so far away from other people, we don’t want to worry about a break-in.”
You didn’t speak. Steve shifted, drawing your attention to him. He looked relaxed, but was frowning at you - at first you were scared, was he angry? No, you realised. It was almost pitiful. “What are you doing?”
“I want to go home.”
The two men looked at each other before turning back to you. “Why don’t we have some food, you must be hungry?”
“I-”
“Come on, Doll, I can make us something nice.”
“Stevie makes good food,” the brunette said as he started walking to the kitchen. You watched him walk past you without a care in the world. “We have left over pasta, if you can’t be bothered cooking.”
“That would be great, Buck.” You stayed against the door until Steve looked at you. He was still smiling, still relaxed and happy. “We would really, really, appreciate it if you came and had dinner with us.” His tone didn’t change. His stance didn’t change. But his eyes hardened just a fraction. But enough for you to nod. You didn’t want to make them angry at you, to break some rule and get attacked for it. The strange, upsetting and confusing atmosphere around you was better than anger and violence.
The brunette - Buck? - was in the kitchen as Steve went to the table. He waved you over and you went slowly. One step at a time. Steve just watched you walk with a soft smile on his face. It was so unnerving just how un-scary they were. So normal. It made them so much worse to be around. The small, round table had 4 seats. No matter what you’d be sitting next to at least one of them. You sat down opposite Steve. Your back to the front door. Steve just kept smiling.
“Are you feeling better? I am really sorry about the drugs, I didn’t want you to sleep for so long.”
“Guess she’s a lightweight,” the brunette said as he walked towards you. He placed 2 cans of beer down and then a glass of, what looked like, juice in front of you.
“Bucky,” Steve huffed. “Don’t be mean.”
Bucky(?) walked off laughing. “Just teasing. Don’t worry, girly, the drink isn’t spiked. I get it, you can’t take the alcohol.”
You looked down at the drink. Vodka wasn’t the thing you were worried about it being spiked with. Steve huffed again, picked the juice up and took a drink. “Don’t be so skittish, doll, nothing to worry about.”
“Right.”
“Worried you’re going to get drugged again?” Bucky laughed from the kitchen. There were some plates clattering and then he was walking out again. It was so surreal. They knew that they had drugged you, knew that you were scared and upset and they joked like it was a casual laugh. Nothing serious. They didn’t even seem to want to joke about it to scare or upset you, almost acting like you were in on the joke - like a funny thing that happened to all three of you. “Here,” he placed a bowl of pasta down on the table in front of you and Steve before heading back for his own.
You were hungry and the pasta did look great. You didn’t know how long you had been asleep, or how long ago it had been since you had eaten. But your stomach was growling at you as you stared down at the white bowl. The men had started eating, the two of them talking amongst themselves as you sat silently looking down. Your hands stayed on your lap, your fingers wrapping around themselves over and over. You rubbed your toes against the fuzzy socks that didn’t belong to you.
“Y/N?”
Your head snapped up. The men were looking at you now. They just looked at you - waiting for you. “Yes?”
“Eat,” Bucky said. It was said casually, but you heard the order in the tone. You picked up the fork, and pushed some pasta in your mouth. It tasted like cardboard. You took another. Bucky nodded, “good girl.”
Steve took his last bite. “Most of the things we eat come from our garden. We’ll take you out and show you some time.”
“Nice, isn’t it?” Bucky asked, tilting his head.
You nodded twice quickly. “Very.”
“What do you say?” His tone was still light. You stared at him wide eyed - what did he want you to say? Was he going to get angry now? You just kept looking at him, confused and frightened. Bucky kept smiling, his eyes bright and his tone patronising. “Thank you for dinner.”
Your eyes flicked between the two men. Both were watching you. Neither looked upset or angry, both just waited. Your head was racing. You didn’t want to say it - you didn’t want to just give in to these ridiculous directions. But you didn’t want to make them angry, you didn’t want to be hurt. Where did you go from here? By betraying yourself you’d be keeping yourself safe. By not giving in you ran the risk of, well, death. Or something worse. You flicked your eyes back and forth between the two men again. They were still just waiting for you to respond. It would be so easy to give in. It would be so easy to respond in anger and tell them to fuck off and let you go.
“Thank you for dinner.”
