Chapter 1: A broken secret
Chapter Text
Few people knew it, but Kaveh, the genius architect, the star of Kshahrewar, the undisputed creator of the Palace of Alcazarzaray, this same Kaveh was in debt. But not a little in debt. Rather REALLY in debt of a few tens of millions of moras. However, the pretty blond was satisfied with his life now. He won't spit on having a bit of mora for him, but he had a roof over his head thanks to the kindness of Alhaitham, and he could exercise the profession of his dreams: Architect and designer. Thus, the few people aware of his secret were none other than his closest friends: Tighnari, Cyno and Alhaitham. However, we should not omit the demon of his life, the reason for his current situation: the named Dori. The rest of the world remained blind to his situation,

Kaveh stretched for a long time in his chair. Damn! He had been working on a storefront sketch for almost three hours. It was a request from a wealthy merchant from Sumeru who wanted to redo his store, inside and out. He had given the blond carte blanche, simply asking him to do something simple, elegant and sophisticated. Something that would make customers want to come in. The architect had been totally enthusiastic about the project. He had the week left to submit the first drafts and he had already made a first copy of the facade. It was therefore his second and he still had to make the various proposals for the interior. Kaveh looked out the window of the study at the Academia. He immersed himself momentarily in memories of student youth where he and Alhaitham stayed in the library of the Academy for long vigils of revision. With a slight sigh, Kaveh picked up his quill and went back to tracing the lines of his sketch. It was his turn to cook tonight. What could he do? Pita pockets? Or just humus?
Suddenly, a shadow cast over his large leaf causing him to look up. A young student observed her drawing. Kaveh had grown accustomed to having students watching him work on his projects when he was at the academia. He really didn't mind, as long as they didn't constantly interrupt his work with questions. The blond noticed that the girl was watching him now. Forcing himself to smile a little more, he raised his eyebrows as if to silently ask her if she had a problem. She then seemed very embarrassed, like a child who was caught stealing a piece of candy.
“Um, I…Senior Kaveh…I – uh…I didn't mean to bother you.
- HM hm. I understand. However, where you are, you hide the light from me, preventing me from advancing on my sketch. If you could shift, that would be adorable,” the blonde explained patiently. The student immediately shifted as if a fire burned her feet. She then lined up with the other two students watching her. ' Did they really have nothing else to do?' thought Kaveh feeling their heavy stares. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to regain his lost concentration, he decided to pack everything up and go home. Finally, at Alhaitham. “Are you already leaving Senior Kaveh? exclaimed a student. Kaveh simply nodded, not wanting to engage in further conversation. It certainly didn't sound like him, but today had really been a big day. Besides, these groupies were the worst kind of leeches. He greatly preferred students who came directly to ask him questions for advice but who left to respect his workspace.
"Senior Kaveh, when will you be back?" asked the girl. Discreetly rolling his eyes, the blonde replied slowly. " I don't know. I don't have a fixed schedule you know”. Seeing the crestfallen faces of the students, he shrugged subtly, continuing to pick up his things. “But Senior Kaveh, are you coming back? You can't abandon us! one of the students exclaimed. The architect stopped his gesture and slowly turned his head to stare at them. " Pardon ? I can't ? But I would do what I have to do. I don't think I have to take orders from any juniors…”, he said with a cold smile, making the three students shiver. Collecting his last belongings he left without a glance. Coming out of the library at last, Kaveh sighed at the fresh air, heading home. He didn't take the most direct route, though, to make sure that if some groupies followed him, they wouldn't get the rental of his house. In no way did he want to cause trouble for Alhaitham.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
Arrived in front of the door, Kaveh noticed that he did not have his key. Again… Resigned, he knocked briefly on the door. After a few minutes of waiting, the latter finally opened, revealing the scribe reading a work on the hieroglyphics of ancient civilizations. “Alhaitham, seriously! Can't you leave my key? If you weren't here I'd be locked out! »
“Hmm… But I'm here.
- Humph…. Fortunately ! ". Kaveh entered with his head held high and took off his shoes and cape. He went to the kitchen to find a Sabz meat stew simmering. ' Did Alhaitham cook because I'm late? ' thought the blond, feeling a soft warmth spread in his chest. He walked back to the couch where the gray was sitting. The scribe didn't even look up when he felt the seat sag. A soft hand landed on her cheek and Kaveh placed a kiss on her cheek. "Thank you," the blond muttered, before getting up and going to the bathroom, not perceiving the slight smile that graced Alhaitham's lips.
That evening was particularly calm. Kaveh recounted his working day and Alhaitham listened religiously, occasionally making a few pertinent remarks. When the architect broached the subject of student fanatics, the scribe frowned. "Isn't it disturbing to always have someone on your back?" That's why I prefer my office. he declared solemnly.
“It is indeed exhausting. But not everyone is lucky enough to have their own office, Mr. Scribe…” the blond replied playfully. Suddenly, a shiver ran down his spine. Turning around suddenly, he stared at the dining room window to find only the darkness outside. Had he dreamed? He saw Alhaitham staring at him with a sort of concern. “Kaveh, how are you? Looks like something's bothering you.
- No it's nothing, don't worry! I thought I heard a noise. It must be fatigue,' the blond lied.
- Hmm, okay. I'm going to bed. As I cooked, it is you who cleans. And don't make too much noise please
-Of course. Thanks again for the meal. Good night ! Kaveh replied as he picked up the plates. As he washed the dishes, he couldn't help the disgusting feeling from being watched. He didn't even dare to look out the window for fear of discovering something he didn't want to see. The silence in the house was suffocating, as if everything was suddenly too quiet. A cold sweat ran down his neck as he finished the dishes and left for his room. As soon as he turned off the light and crawled into bed, the sickening feeling began again. He turned over in bed, getting a direct visual on the window. At that moment, his body froze in horror. He had not dreamed! There was a figure at his window that hid as soon as he turned around. Frozen by fear, he dared not move. What should he do? What if they were burglars? Or worse ! If it was one of the students that afternoon who had followed him. Taken in a spiral of infernal thoughts, Kaveh did not see the night pass and found himself a ball of anguish in the early morning.
As he struggled to his feet, he glanced quickly at his window, but didn't notice anything alarming. There were no tracks on the tile, nor footprints on the floor. Assuming it was his whimsical mind playing tricks on him, he headed for the bathroom, then the kitchen to join Alhaitham for breakfast.
The scribe noticed his roommate's exhausted head. " Slept poorly ? he guessed correctly.
“Um…I haven't slept a wink. I had this feeling of being watched all the time. I even thought I saw a silhouette through my bedroom window,” the blonde laughed softly. The other wasn't laughing, but said nothing, frowning slightly. "It was probably fatigue," he retorted.
" Probably yes… ".
Kaveh fell silent. Why bother Alhaitham with such trivialities. He had more to do at the Academia than pity him for a sleepless night.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
Kaveh had no desire to go to the Academia, but the mere thought of staying in the scribe's house knowing what he had seen the day before sent a shiver down his spine.
Reluctantly, the blonde picked up his blueprints and headed for the library, hoping for some peace of mind. Kaveh's lucky star was obviously not there. He was used to it now. However, he couldn't let out a sigh when he saw the same students as the day before rushing towards him. "Senior Kaveh!" You came back! one exclaimed. "Is it to see us?" asked the second. The blond let out a weary laugh. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not here for you. Besides, I would be grateful if you could not stick to me today. I really need some air…”. The three students looked at each other and nodded. “We are sorry Senior Kaveh, we did not realize that our behavior is bothering you. You should have told us before. the girl explained softly before walking away. Kaveh smiled at that. They weren't mean, just a bit of a fan.
The blonde finally settled down at a table and began his work. Today, he was counting on finishing this store front.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
As he finally put the last stroke, he stretched, yawning greatly. " Fatigue ? asked a female voice. “Hmm? Yes a little » answered Kaveh softly without paying attention to who was talking to him. "You haven't slept because of Alhaitham perhaps?" the voice asked again.
Kaveh jerked his head up and turned at the origin of the voice to see…a wall. There was absolutely nothing around him. A deep anguish seized him again. He tossed around like a madman in his seat, attracting dubious looks from the students and researchers present, as he searched for the origin of this voice. Kaveh started to panic. He had not dreamed damn it!
Suddenly, everything had a meaning in his head. The silhouette, the voice… Someone knew! Or else he was good for the asylum. Slowly, he turned back to his plan, seeing that it was finished. Letting out a sigh, he picked up his things and went home. The feeling of being watched followed him. Seeing Cyno, Kaveh decided to go talk to him.
“Hello Cyno! the blond exclaimed with a smile.
- Hello to you too, Kaveh. You seem very tired,” noted the general.
- Hmm. Exactly... I would like to talk to you about something. But not here.
- Well, enter the office I'm coming. Cyno opened the door to his office, inviting the blonde. Kaveh sat down on the chair and waited a few minutes. At least the feeling had stopped.
Cyno finally entered and closed the door. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?" »
- Please don't laugh.
- Well I don't know. It will depend if...
- Promise! the blonde exclaimed vehemently.
- Alright Alright ! I promise, I won't laugh. Cyno was really intrigued now.
- Since yesterday, I have a strange sensation… as if I was being followed and observed permanently. So I took a longer route home yesterday to sow a potential follower,” Kaveh explained.
- Wise decision. Cyno commented with a nod. "Please continue"
- Well. When we were eating with Haitham, I felt like something or someone was watching me through the window, but when I turned around, NOTHING! And it continued all evening! The worst ! That's when I went to bed, I swear I saw a figure at my window! the blonde exclaimed, making the other frown. Cyno looked pensive.
“And again, in the library, I heard a voice asking me if I had slept badly because of Alhaitham. I swear Cyno someone knows…” Kaveh breathed out his final rant, tears in his eyes. The white put a firm hand on his shoulder and squeezed it.
“Don't worry Kaveh. I will open an investigation. I'll have you watched around the Academia. If you see anything else, come tell me. And no, you're not crazy. Kaveh looked up at the last sentence, a slight smile on his lips. His friend knew him well.
“Thank you Cyno”.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
Two weeks later, Kaveh had not relived the strange feeling, for his greatest happiness. Cyno hadn't contacted him about it, but he wasn't worried. Yet when he arrived at the Academia that morning, a strange atmosphere awaited him. Several times he received sidelong glances. When he passed through the hallways, the whispering stopped. A lump squeezed his throat.
What the hell was going on? When he arrived in front of his professional mailbox (he had chosen to leave it at the Academia, for obvious reasons of residence), he saw a sheet taped to it with an inscription.
“ POOR ” and “ HOMELESS ”. Kaveh stood shocked at the sheet. When he came to, he tore off the sheet and saw the looks of pity or mockery from the various people present. Damn it ! Who would do such a childish act in the Academia? Clutching the ball of paper in his hand, he retrieved his letters and went to a table to consult his mail. Kaveh thought he was lucky to arrive early in the morning, so he was able to limit the damage.
Among the letters refusing funding or requesting work, one without a sender questioned him. He picked up the small brown envelope. For its size, it was relatively heavy.
However, when Kaveh opened it, he knew his life would never be the same again. He had just opened Pandora's box. Inside are photos of him and Alhaitham eating at the scribe's. Another of him entering the house, key in hand. A third showed Alhaitham leaning against the door frame as he spoke to Kaveh who was sitting on his bed. And a letter. “ They already know. It's too late for you. LIAR ! »

Kaveh remained frozen for several seconds that seemed like an eternity. As quickly as his trembling hands would allow him, he put the photos and the letter back in the envelope, before handing it to Merak. Desperate, he grabbed her head in his hands, tugging at her blonde locks. It was not possible! It was just a nightmare and he was going to wake up, right? Feeling the tears welling up, he pulled himself together. He couldn't cry in front of everyone, otherwise what would his juniors think? First of all, Kaveh remembered why he had come. He had to return the borrowed books. Thereafter, he would go to see Cyno to know the progress of his investigation. All this could only be a huge misunderstanding, or simply a joke in very bad taste.
As he entered the library, the blonde felt prying eyes on him. No doubt some had already seen the note on his mailbox. With a sigh, he walked over to the counter to return the books. The older man looked at him over his glasses, long enough for it to border on rude.
“I came to return some books,” Kaveh explained with an embarrassed smile.
- Hmm… Yes, yes. I see. Put them here…” the man mumbled without looking at him.
Kaveh felt outraged at such behavior, but said nothing. After all, his mother always taught him to respect his elders. When the blonde emerged from the library, he headed towards Cyno's office, hoping that the latter would be there. His day couldn't have started off worse.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
Arriving at the office, Kaveh saw his friend. Relieved, he accelerated, waving at her. Cyno answered him and invited him inside.
"Kaveh, you're good. I wanted to see you vis-à-vis what you had spoken to me about”. A tension grips the blonde.
- Alright, I'm listening.
- Well, in fact your suspicions were quite correct. We apprehended a young girl who was following you around the academia. She's still in detention if you want to talk to her. Obviously, she's just a groupie who meant no harm…”
Immense relief enveloped Kaveh. A slight smile bloomed on his lips.
"No, it's okay, let her go." I'm not going to make her wait any longer. Cyno nodded and left, as did Kaveh. He had hesitated to tell the general about his new discovery. However, Cyno's words were truly encouraging. So the architect decided to give up and returned to Alhaitham. Everything was going to be okay anyway, right?
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
That evening, Kaveh and Alhaitham had a heated argument when everything had started so well.
“You're just a fool! Why am I getting tired of talking to you anyway?
- Well shut up! At least I would have silence. You call me a fool, but it's not me who failed to manage my life and ended up in debt to the point of being a burden on others!
- Pardon ? In what way are my debts the center of your occupations? I guess you really have nothing to do as a scribe on that count! And if I was a weight, you would have already made me understand.
- Believe what you want, but in any case, I have a salary. Not like some…” Alhaitham smirked proudly as he stared at Kaveh's red cheeks with anger.
-Argh! SHUT UP ! You'd be happy if I left, wouldn't you? Don't worry, I don't want to stay forever! Especially with a heartless monster like you!
"Beware Kaveh…" growled the scribe. “I could very well take back the roof I gave you. And my door is in no way closed to go out. So don't be shy and stop being childish. You're just a naive idiot who thinks you're a genius. But you're not fooling anyone. Alhaitham concludes by activating his earpieces, cutting the argument short.
Kaveh watched him lock himself in his office. Her last sentence had hit him right in the heart. Was he really a source of boredom? A failed genius? How pretentious that made him. He gripped her arms tightly, trying to hug himself. Finally, he left with his head bowed to his room. That night again, he didn't close his eyes all night, prey to his intrusive thoughts.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
The next day he woke up late, dark circles under his eyes. Arriving at the kitchen, he found that Alhaitham had already left. However, he hadn't left anything for Kaveh's breakfast as usual, not even coffee. Sighing, the blond gave up eating. Maybe he had been too harsh the day before and this was his punishment. If so, then he would accept it silently. Picking up his things, he left for the Academia, where a client was waiting for him.
When he arrived at the meeting place, Kaveh did not find his client. By the way, he had picked up his professional mail. There was only one letter. Sent by his client. Frowning, Kaveh wondered if this was another joke. However, what he read did not make him laugh.
“ Dear Mr. Kaveh,
Please excuse me. I know that you have already made me the presentation of your various sketches for my store, however I would like to abandon the project. You see, I have heard of your financial difficulties and I am in no way judging. Everyone has their own worries. Alas, I fear that you will not be able to supply yourself with raw material and my site cannot be delayed. Also, I have already contacted a new architect who will be able to carry out the work as soon as possible. However, it is obvious that I would pay for the sketches that interest me so that the other architect can implement them.
Once again, I offer my sincere apologies. I hope you wouldn't be expecting me tomorrow for our date.
Good for you.
Mr. X…X »
It was a cold shower for Kaveh. How… How could he know? And how about another architect? How was he going to be able to do that? Sudden chuckles brought him back to reality.
"And you know what's funniest is that I not only inherited his project, but also his plans! Another round of laughter.
"And do you know who it is?" asked a young woman, whom Kaveh recognized as an old classmate.
" No. But we must probably know it if it comes from the Darshan of Kshahrewar”.
Kaveh dropped that conversation and walked away with hunched shoulders. Clearly, his luck was at rock bottom right now. Returning to his thoughts, he wondered what he should do? Should he really sell his plans? He needed money… But he wasn't going to be able to implement them. Weighing the pros and cons, Kaveh ends up thinking that the man was needy in the face of his plans. Also, it was his duty to help this merchant. Might as well finish as much of his mission as possible.
As he decided to go to Lambad's for a drink, the loudspeakers in the hall began to announce loudly: “Architect Kaveh is expected at the darshan sage of Kshahrewar. I repeat. The architect Kaveh is expected at the darshan sage of Kshahrewar. »
Decidedly, he could never be quiet. He turned around, ignoring the curious looks of those present. Sometimes he could hear an unpleasant comment coming from a group of students or former comrades. He knew full well that they were talking about him. After the latest events, Kaveh was not surprised at anything.
Arriving in front of the office doors, he knocked three times. He felt a lump in his throat. Perhaps he could ask the sage for help. After all, it was he who managed complicated cases when missions were abandoned or unpaid. He waited patiently for permission to enter. As soon as he received the blessing, he pushed open the door and entered, blocking the view of anyone curious who wanted to know what would be said. Archon, they were in the land of wisdom. Couldn't they have a little manners?
Kaveh turned his attention to the sage in front of him. “Hello Sage. How can I help you ? the blond questioned softly. The man in front of him deigned to raise his head to stare at him for a long moment. It was becoming a habit for the architect.
“I called you because of a letter I received from one of your clients. Or rather former client, if I may say so. Kaveh flinched. He already knew.
“I must say that I am surprised but above all disappointed to learn the reason for such a breach of contract”. The sage frowned as he spoke, staring at Kaveh. The blond nodded. “I myself have been…”
"So I demand that you write a letter of apology to this man." I want it for tomorrow,” the Sage cut in, leaving Kaveh speechless.
“P-Excuse me? But why should I...
- Kaveh… I thought you were smarter. By your careless behaviors, you bring shame on our Darshan. The latter is already in top form. Honestly, you disappointed me. The sage spoke in a calm but sharp tone, making Kaveh tremble.
-Sage, I apologize, but I maintain that I do not understand why I should apologize if the customer leaves. My personal life has nothing to do with it,” he explained softly.
“Don't complicate things Kaveh. Can't you think? the wise man began to get angry. “It makes you wonder how you could finish top of your class! You are completely in debt! And you even dare to present yourself to take projects and ask for Darshan funding! If only I had known all this time, you can be sure I wouldn't have paid you any mora! Grabbing a bundle of leaves, the sage stood up suddenly, startling Kaveh. " Go outside ! Immediately ! ". The blond ran. As he opened the doors, he saw everyone present staring at the desk from which the cries came. As he turned to greet the sage after leaving, the latter addressed Kaveh one last time.
“See those leaves? These are all your payment requests for future projects. There they are, liar! Your apology letter here for tomorrow! he cried, throwing them violently in the blond's face, then slamming the door in his face. Kaveh realized what was happening when he heard gasps and whispers. Looking down, he saw her various requests spread out at his feet. Slowly, he crouched down to pick them up one by one. A student approached slowly.
"Senior Kaveh, are you okay?" We heard screams in the office…”
- Thank you for your concern. Don't worry. It is nothing serious. replied the architect with a soft smile. Yet the girl did not seem convinced.
“He says this, while he is in debt to death and is probably homeless! came a mocking voice, causing Kaveh to straighten up. Around him, he could hear breaths being held, the atmosphere growing tense. When he turned around, he saw his sworn enemy, Helmut. Slowly approaching Kaveh stared him straight in the eyes.
“And may I know what premise you are basing yourself on? »
- I don't know if it's enough? But in the meantime I'm not the only one to have found it,” the brunette sneered, swinging a card under Kaveh's nose. Grabbing it, the blond began to read it. Suddenly his eyes widened in horror. It was… Oh no! It was his notice of debt! A loud laugh escaped Helmut's chest.
"Damn you should see your face!" Hahahaha! It's excellent ! My poor, you really have nothing for you!
- Helmut! That's enough ! “, tried to reason a girl who accompanied him, visibly embarrassed by his relentlessness on the blond.
“Oh it’s okay Suzie! Look at him. He is miserable, penniless! Finally, with your pretty face, I'm sure you'll manage to make some easy money,” he said, winking at Kaveh.
The blond felt hurt, but was so stunned he didn't know how to react. The people around didn't know either. Helmut was known to be tyrannical and anyone who got in his way was trapped.
Helmut continued his taunt, having a great time.
"Afterwards if it doesn't work, you can always go back to where you came from, can't you?" Where the dogs die! In the desert. Like your father ! He has not… "
The brunette never finishes his sentence. A fist crashed hard into his jaw, sending him sliding two meters to the floor. Cries arose in the assembly. Others tried to hide a smile at the brunette's punishment.
“Just dare to talk about my family like that again and I can assure you that you won't leave here on your feet…” Kaveh hissed between his teeth.
Helmut brought a hand to his cheek, rubbing it. An evil smile on his lips.
"Be sure you won't get away with this, Kaveh!" I'll charge you for every mora you manage to earn. »
The blonde groaned softly as he picked up his things to leave.
“Ah by the way, Kaveh! Thanks for the store plans! ". Kaveh felt tears welling up in the corners of his eyes as he ran down the stairs to go home.
He no longer wanted to go drinking at Lambad's.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
As he arrived at Alhaitham's, he entered to find the latter in the sofa. Ignoring her, he went straight to his room. He threw himself on the mattress, grabbed his pillow and began to sob silently.
After an hour there was a knock at his door.
"Kaveh, let's eat," said Alhaitham flatly.
- I'm coming » replied the blonde softly.
At the table, there were pita pockets ready. Sitting down, Kaveh began to eat. He hadn't realized he was starving. After all he hadn't eaten anything all day. After a long time of eating in silence, the scribe broke it.
“How are you Kaveh? you look tired,” he observed without apparent emotion.
- Yes. I had a big day. A little hectic. But it will be better tomorrow,” the blonde smiled softly. Alhaitham nodded and the conversation was over, leaving Kaveh with a lump in his throat. After the meal, the scribe left the dishes to the blonde and went to his room. The architect let out a shaky sigh. It was obvious that the other was avoiding him. He must have been angry with her for the argument the night before. Biting his lip, Kaveh choked back tears as he finished the dishes. After that, he went to take a shower before going to bed. Maybe he could relax a bit.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
The next morning, Kaveh got up early to prepare breakfast. He prepared pastries (Alhaitham's favourites) to make up for it. When the scribe entered the dining room, he stopped dead in his tracks as Kaveh poured the coffee.
“Ah, Alhaitham! You're lucky, I just finished preparing breakfast! Come and eat I made pastries and...
- Sorry Kaveh, but I don't have time. I'll take a bit from the Academia later”. And without further ado, Alhaitham planted Kaveh alone in the kitchen. The blonde turned back to the laid table. He let himself fall limply on the chair, not even having the strength to mourn his disappointment. He only muttered a light "Good day", before starting to clear the table. How long had Alhaitham not spoken to him? How long since the last time he had looked at it? Where had he touched it? ' Does he even still love me? ' the blonde thought painfully.
Finally, cleaning the table turned into cleaning the dining room, then the living room and finally around noon, the whole house was radiant with cleanliness. Suddenly, a sharp knock was given at the door. Kaveh froze. He had to hide, quickly! Crouching behind one of the sofas, he waited. Another knock was given at the door. “Architect Kaveh, if you are here open up. Order of the Matra! »
The blonde jumped at the order. Why were they looking for him? And how did they know he was here? Straightening up, he approached the door. Slowly, he opened it and saw two guards. One of them handed him an envelope. " Good morning. Architect Kaveh to serve you. How can I help you ? the blond questioned.
The soldier holding the letter handed it to the architect. “Here is a ticket for assault and battery on a scholar and for violent behavior within the Academia. Please pay the indicated amount by the end of the week. You will not need to go to court, since the decision was made out of court. Good day ". And as they had arrived, the two Matra guards left. Kaveh went inside the mansion, sitting on the sofa to read the ticket. Helmut wasted no time , he thought, gritting his teeth.
“ Mr. Kaveh is sentenced to pay the sum of 250,000 moras for assault and battery on a scholar, as well as the sum of 100,000 moras for violent and disrespectful behavior within the Academy itself. He has one week from this day, XX/XX/XXXX, to pay the amount directly to Matra, failing which the amount will be doubled. No appearance is necessary on the part of Mr. Kaveh, this decision having already been pronounced ”.
Kaveh was frozen. 350,000 moras? Seriously ? He barely had enough to pay his debt this month. So that… They should know he wasn't solvent though. Leaving his grief aside, Kaveh went to his room to do the accounts.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
After collecting his rare savings, he counted again. He could pay the ticket, but that meant he had nothing left to pay off his debt this month. He gathered his moras in a satchel and put them on his desk. Then, in a sudden reminder, he remembered the apology letter. He didn't want to write it, but he might as well avoid trouble as much as possible given his current bad luck. He began to write slowly, stamping the words on paper, scribbling, hesitating, crossing out, starting over. Finally, after four sheets tossed into a ball, he re-read his letter one last time before slipping it into an envelope. Might as well take advantage of Alhaitham's absence otherwise the scribe would push for as much information as possible. He knew he had big plans in mind, might as well save him his own problems. And then Kaveh was an adult, he could always get by. Finally convinced of his letter (to a lesser extent, of course), he sealed the envelope. Might as well get rid of it as soon as possible.
“Dear Sage, Dear Mr. X…X,
As an architect and scholar of Kshahrewar, please accept my most sincere apologies. It is in the shadow of my remorse that I have the audacity to implore your forgiveness.
If only I had been more conscientious, I would never have thought of accepting this project. Because on the one hand, dear Mr. X…X, I make the mistake of delaying this project which is so dear to your heart, but moreover, I cover myself with ridicule by bringing shame on my Darshan.
Dear Sage, Dear Mr. X…X, please accept my most sincere apologies.
It is obviously agreed that the architect Helmut can inherit my sketches before finishing your designs.
Please believe in my deepest feelings,
Architect Kaveh, scholar of Kshahrewar »
Feeling disgust with himself, Kaveh grabbed the mora and the envelope and left the house in search of a Matra soldier. He didn't want to show up at the Academia in any way. Not after everything that was going on. Perhaps he should consider moving and finding a home in the desert or in the city of Gandharva. When he finally found a soldier, he entrusted him with his mission and returned directly once he received the man's affirmation.

Upon arriving, he returned to lock himself in his room, preferring the softness of his bed. Without realizing it, Kaveh fell into a sleepy limbo. It wasn't until he heard voices in the living room that he slowly emerged.
Alhaitham and Cyno sat in the living room, sharing tea and debriefing on their meeting with the elders. Their subject of conversation was mainly about their common enemy: a gritty old man, with retrograde ideas and wishing to prevent any possible evolution of the Academia.
“I can assure you that the day I will be asked to have him locked up, I will do it with the greatest joy! Cyno chanted.
- How I understand you. It is true that this old man has all the qualities to be hated. If only he knew…”
The two men were talking without realizing the ears listening to the conversation.
Indeed, Kaveh having recognized the general's voice, wished to go and greet him. It had been a long time since they had seen each other. However, when he heard their words, his joy immediately sank.
“Honestly, it's been a long time since I've seen it, but I can do without it!
- Absolutely. He spends his time complaining. To believe that these personal concerns are the center of the world.
- Totally! He doesn't even pay attention to others! Always bringing everything back to him. And I'm sorry, but I think you noticed that too, but it's such a leech.
- Oh yes, I know that. As soon as he can get something out of you, he doesn't mind. And you'll excuse me, but on the other hand, he doesn't do any constructive work. To believe that lounging is much simpler.
- You are definitely right. Honestly, I think that if he came to present himself in front of me, I don't know if I could hold myself back… And again, he's such an actor, he would be able to make tears flow!
- Say it clearly, Cyno. She's a drama queen. He uses his experience to appease the world, but he is incapable of achieving a thing…”
Kaveh had heard more than enough. ' His friends… Ugh!'. He retired as quietly as possible to his room. Eyes wide and cheeks wet with tears, he slid against his door in a shaking heap, hands clapped over his mouth to muffle the sound of his sobs.

Chapter Text
Kaveh couldn't hold back his sobs as he was a panting, hiccuping heap against his door. Had his "friends" always thought that of him? He knew, yes, that he could be annoying at times, always complaining, always bringing the same subjects back to the table. He was emotional, which in Sumeru was perceived as weak-mindedness. Some called him a fool because he gave freely, while he himself couldn't always make ends meet. However, was he really perceived that way by his friends. Like a profiteering man trying to make others feel sorry for himself?
The hurtful words came back to his mind in sharp points, as if to remind the man of the words that were held against him. 'Leech', 'embarrassing', 'lazy', 'comedian', 'liar'… Kaveh grabbed his blond locks and tugged them as if to try to wring the hurtful words out of his swirling thoughts. Suddenly there was a knock on his door, making him jump. He tried as best he could to suppress the gasps of surprise and chased away his last sobs by furiously wiping away his incessant tears.
“Sorry Cyno. He must be asleep no doubt,” said Alhaitham's voice. 'Why did he want to see him?'. Kaveh slowly opened his door. “Alhaitham? he asked so softly that he wasn't even sure the scribe had noticed him. Yet he did. Turning around, he saw the initially stoic grey's gaze fill with concern.
“Kaveh, why are you crying? asked the slightly panicked man. These remarks must have alarmed the general, since they saw him arrive quickly in front of the blond's room. Kaveh bit his lip. He couldn't tell them that he had heard the whole conversation (or at least the part about him), and that was the reason for his crying. Since he was supposedly a liar, might as well put his hidden talents to good use.
"I…I…had a nightmare…" he said, looking down. It wasn't that far from the truth, except that he hadn't fallen asleep, or never woken up.
The other two exchanged a dubious look. Kaveh prayed that he bought this huge lie. He didn't like lying, especially to his friends, but right now he had to protect himself. Especially with everything that was happening to him. Finally, Cyno seemed saddened by the news.
"You still have dreams and intrusive thoughts don't you?" he asked softly. Kaveh nodded slowly. It is true that the other had been a support during their student years. Alhaitham looked surprised, almost offended that Cyno might know more about the blonde's ailments.
Gently, Alhaitham led the architect into the living room. " You want something to drink ? Or eat something? Kaveh felt his stomach contract at the thought of eating something. Shaking his head, he refused. He wasn't sure he could handle this.
Cyno decided to change the subject: "Besides Kaveh, did you have trouble again with the student who was following you?" »
- Have you been in trouble? asked the scribe, frowning slightly, as he returned from the kitchen with a glass of jasmine and honey tea. "You didn't tell me"
- It was not worth it, Cyno had already taken care of it” reassured the blonde, taking a light breath to enjoy the scent of tea, calming him instantly. “And yes Cyno, everything is fine. I haven't seen him since."
- And you don't have any other troubles, do you? the general asked, staring him straight in the eye as if to probe his soul. Kaveh shook his head hesitantly. If he realized he had lied to her, he doesn't know how he might react. Cyno watched him for a moment before nodding.
Finally, Kaveh started to yawn. All that crying had left him exhausted. Alhaitham accompanied him to his room and returned with the general, who soon returned. That night, the blonde had the privilege of spending a dreamless night.

Kaveh couldn't stay locked in his room forever. In addition, the maturity of his monthly debt was fast approaching and he had not been able to raise new funds. He had considered selling some of his possessions, however the majority of what he used was actually in Alhaitham. He therefore found himself at an impasse. The only way to find a job was to go back to the sage of Darshan to hope that he offered him a mission. He was ready to beg on his knees. Otherwise he will soon find himself short of a solution and of a home. He still remembered the words of the scribe during their previous argument:
"I'm warning you Kaveh, you've been spending your moras on drink for two months now, next month, if you don't pay me, you can pack your bags!" »
Kaveh was pretty sure he didn't really mean it. However, the next month that Alhaitham was talking about was precisely the current month. Deciding, the blonde grabbed some blueprints and left for the Academia. These plans he could always sell. He sincerely hoped so.

As he arrived at the Academia, Kaveh was far too aware of the looks he received, whether of pity or outright mockery. Trying as best he could to make degrading comments, he rushed to the Sage's office. Passing by, he paused to look at his email, but found the box quickly. Only one word on a paper signed by Helmut: “ LOSER ”. Sighing, he resumed his journey towards the Sage.
When he arrived, he knocked apprehensively and hesitantly. Already, he saw in his side vision that onlookers were arriving for the future show. A loud voice rose from inside the office to grant access. Kaveh swallowed and pushed the port. It was a miracle that his legs managed to push him inside when they seemed to be made of jelly. When he arrived in front of the Sage, the latter was writing a report. The blonde didn't know how to stand. So it was with hands clasped over his plans, resting against his chest and slightly hunched shoulders that he waited silently. Finally, the Sage broke the silence without looking up at the person who dared to betray his tranquility.
" Yes ? What do you want ? I don't have all day! »
- Hum… Hello Sage. I... I came to see you about my plans. Maybe someone could be interested and…” Kaveh's words died in his throat as he saw the man in front of him raise his head so slowly it was ominous.
- Kaveh? What a surprise ! You came to bring me your letter of apology, right? scoffed the sage. The blonde flinched.
- My letter ? But… I-I'll pass them on to you through the Matra. Isn't she...
- Indeed, Kaveh. What was my surprise to see that the falling star of Kshahrewar did not have the courage to confront me! Kaveh felt tears sting his eyes. 'So that was the title he inherited?' . Swallowing the lump in his throat, he tried to answer.
- I'm sorry.
- Oh no ! Spare me your antics and empty excuses. The client had the charity of soul to excuse you. And you should thank me for not making you write a thank you letter to this good man. Well, at least you had the presence of mind not to complicate the situation by refusing to bequeath your plans. The Sage stood up and walked around the desk. By reflex Kaveh took a few steps back. “Well, if you didn't come for the letter, what is it? Because I don't have anything about you except that you don't know how to behave in the academia. Helmut complained about you. Know that you disappoint me greatly! »
Kaveh nodded ruefully. “Actually,” he said softly, “I came to show you my plans. I don't know if a potential customer would be interested. I could also sell them if needed.
The sage grabbed the blueprints and looked at them blueprints before glancing at Kaveh. With a sudden movement, he grabbed the blonde's arm hard enough to bruise him, and he opened the door to his office. He threw Kaveh violently on the ground, giving him no time to catch himself, his head hitting the ground and opening it at the level of the arch. Raising a trembling hand to his head, Kaveh felt the pain and heat of the blood that flowed. Many people were watching, as if they were in a circus. The sage burst out laughing.
"So you have no self-esteem?" You say you are ready to sell your plans, the work of your soul! How badly do you need the money tell me? Kaveh lowered his head sharply.
"You remember what I told you last time Kaveh, don't you?" Do not count on me for any funding from me! The architect looked up in panic at the sound of tearing paper. In front of him, in front of all the students of Kshahrewar, the sage was tearing down all his plans. He spared none, smashing them into useless crumbs at his feet. Kaveh put a hand to his mouth to keep a cry of agony from escaping him as he held out a shaking hand towards his plans being destroyed in front of him.
When the Sage had finished grinding Kaveh's hours of work and sleeplessness to dust, he gave her a dismissive look and returned to the comfort of his office.
Panting, the blonde remained seated and shivered on the floor. What would become of him. Finally, he slowly sat up, no longer even noticing the various looks and whispers directed at him. There was nothing left of him in this darshan. The only merit he had left was the Alcazarzaray Palace, but that was also his pet peeve. When he arrived in front of the stairs, a voice called him. Slowly he turned to face Helmut. He wore a wicked smile. “Goodbye loser! You looked for it! he spat. Before Kaveh could even react, the other pushed him down the stairs. The blond fell heavily on the steps, rolling them. He somehow managed to protect his head and neck. When he got downstairs, he felt dizzy and nauseous. His head turned due to sudden disorientation. His back was hurting him, as well as his right ankle and his left wrist. Finally, he slowly sat up and hobbled home, clutching his wrist. There was nothing left of him except his strong depression.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
When Kaveh arrived in front of Alhaitham's house, he knew something was wrong. There were the tax tutors who had been waiting outside the door for who knew how long. Great, so he got the deadline wrong and had no way to make mora except to sell himself.
As he came up to them, one of the men greeted him. “Hello Mr. Kaveh. You remember that today is the day we come to take your monthly repayment. »
- To be honest, no, I didn't remember. I'm not going to lie to you, I don't have the amount. »
- Last month you were already late,” declared the tutor, raising an eyebrow. "Fine, we'll find another way."
Kaveh started to get scared. " What do you mean ? »
- Please come in. I will explain to you. However, you seem to be in bad shape. Maybe you should tend to your wounds. »
The blonde thanked the man. It might sound silly, but he had really been touched by the lack of interest he had in her. Thus, Kaveh found himself in the strange situation where the tutor watched him lick his wounds and help him if necessary.
"Well now that you seem a little better, let's get back to business." So you're telling me you don't have the money to pay off your debt this month” Kaveh nodded.
- It's annoying, really. However, we cannot afford to shift your payment date each time. Let's say that for this month we are going to reimburse ourselves"
Kaveh tilted his head slightly to the side.
“You… Reimburse yourself? What do you mean ? I'm not sure I follow you...
- We are simply going to carry out a search of your belongings,” said the tutor in the simplest way possible.
- Pardon ?! But I have almost nothing!
- Well then you'll have nothing. This is how ". The man began to send his two men into the house. "Collect valuables and...
- WAIT ! STOP! the blonde exclaimed. “I think there is a misunderstanding. You can't take just anything. This house is not mine. I'm just the roommate. I can show you what my furniture is.
- Ah. Very good. I appreciate your cooperation”.
Finally, in less than half an hour, Kaveh's desk, paintings and trinkets were seized. He also parted with a silk outfit from Liyue that he had received as a gift. In the end, in the common study, only the space of Alhaitham remained. In his room, he only had a mattress on the floor, as well as an expensive painting that the scribe had given him. However, he had chosen to pass it off as a property of gray.
At this time, exclamations were heard at the entrance of the house. Going to see, the tutor found himself face to face in the living room with the owner of the premises.
"Can I find out what you're doing at my house before I sue you for trespassing and stealing property?" gritted the scribe between his teeth. The preceptor raised his hands in front of his chest in a sign of peace.
- Acting Great Sage, I'm just doing my job. See, your uh… roommate, couldn't afford to pay off his monthly debt. So we just get money where we can”.
At these words, Alhaitham immediately looked up at Kaveh, who was standing in the doorway of his bedroom. When their eyes met, the blond blushed violently in shame and lowered his head, biting his lip, so as not to have to bear the other's judgment.
After some exchanges between the tutor and Alhaitham, the door was closed and the four men left. Kaveh heard footsteps coming towards him. He didn't move from his position, just waiting for the verdict.
“Kaveh, is it true that you have no more money? Alhaitham's stoic, cold voice made him want to cry.
"I…" he swallowed the lump in his throat that prevented him from speaking. "I'm sorry Haitham. Don't worry, my suitcase is already packed. I…I'll leave tonight…Or tomorrow if you allow me one last night.
- What ? But what are you talking about Kaveh? the scribe was frowning heavily at this point.
- I can't pay this month's rent. I'm sorry. So I leave as you wish and...
- Wait a minute… I never said I wanted you to leave. We can find an arrangement!
- Yes during our last argument! You told me ! Kaveh looked up with teary eyes at Alhaitham. He tried to back away from the other's dark expression. But Alhaitham grabbed his left wrist tightly, causing him to moan in pain.
At this time, the scribe seemed to notice some anomalies.
“Wait Kaveh, are you hurt? How ? The blonde shuddered at the anger on Alhaitham's face. But this anger was not directed at him, but at the perpetrator. Finally he gently grabbed Kaveh and led him to the living room. Sighing to calm himself down, the scribe sat down next to the blonde.
"Kaveh, what's going on?" You haven't been yourself lately. And you never run out of mora to pay off your debt. So tell me that…” Suddenly someone knocked on the door. The couple chooses to ignore him, only to have the door pounded. Thundering, Alhaitham threw open the door. "WHAT?" and found himself facing Cyno with his fist frozen in the air and Tighnari behind him, his eyes wide as he clutched a box of pastry from Lambad.
“Hmm. Well you're the one who told us to come here to drink tea to change Kaveh's mind,” Cyno explained softly.
- Oh, that's right”, finally, Alhaitham seemed to come to his senses. " Excuse me. Kaveh we have a little visit. I'm sorry I didn't warn you"
- You didn't tell him » lambasted Tighnari before looking at the blonde, « ARCHON! Kaveh what happened to you? ". The fox dropped the box in the hands of the scribe and ran alongside the blonde, followed closely by the other two.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
The four were now settled on the sofas in the living room. Tighnari rubbed comforting circles on the blonde's back, while Alhaitham and Cyno waited anxiously. The scribe had made a quick debrief of what he knew, in other words not much.
Cyno gazed gently at Kaveh before questioning him, "Was it that girl again that hurt you?" ". The blond shook his head.
- No… In fact, when it started I thought so, but then you told me you settled the case. So I thought it would calm down on its own...
- Except it didn't, huh? whispered Tighnari, receiving a sad look.
-Why didn't you tell me then Kaveh?
- Because you had just helped me and I didn't want to bother you anymore
- But it's my/his job! cried the scribe and the general in unison, winning a slight smile at Kaveh.
- I know, I'm sorry… » Finally, silence settled in the house. Tighnari broke it gently: “I brought some cakes from Lambad as well as some nougat. Do you want some ? »
Even before getting an answer, Alhaitham went to the kitchen to make tea and retrieve dishes to set up the food. Throughout the process, he kept a protective eye on the architect.
- Why don't you tell us the rest? asked Cyno.
So Kaveh launched into the speech. If at first he seemed mortified, as his words progressed, he began to gain energy again, causing his friends to smile slightly.
So he told the story the letter and pictures, which the general demanded to see, as well as the scribe. He recounted his misadventure with his client as well as the sage of Kshahrewar. At this, he obtained an outraged exclamation from Tighnari: “What? How dare he ask you to apologize? ". Finally, he told his story with Helmut and the blow he had dealt him. However, he deliberately omitted to mention the contravention. Obviously they knew, since it had been validated by the Acting Great Sage and General Mahamatra. Subsequently, he explained that he wanted to ask the wise man for help despite his refusal of funding. Again he concealed the fact of having lost hours of work with his plans reduced to dust. There was no point in worrying his friends more than reason. Then, he concludes on the seizure of his property. After that, the other three were in contemplative silence. Still, Kaveh could tell with a look that none of the three were satisfied.
- Thank you for your speech, but something is bothering me”, finally said the fox.
- What are you not telling us, Kaveh? Alhaitham asked directly, probing the blonde's soul with a look.
- N-nothing! I assure you ! he panicked.
- However, there are too many elements missing in your speech. Like you're purposely obscuring parts,” Cyno analyzed, receiving nods from the other two. "By the way, would you mind showing me the copies of the letters, please?" »
Kaveh nodded and got up to go to his room, or at least what was left of it. However, he was cut in his tracks by Alhaitham.
“Kaveh… I don't understand. Why didn't you have any more mora for your debt? We had yet recounted together three weeks ago. And you've hardly been out in those weeks.” The blond felt a cold sweat running down his back. “Kaveh, where did the money go? »
- We didn't steal it anyway? asked Tighnari.
"Ask Cyno…" The blond sighed, defeated.
- Cino?! You extorted Kaveh?! exclaimed the horrified fox.
- What ? But not at all ! I don't know anything! defended the general.
- Really ? Alhaitham glared suspiciously at their friend.
- Kaveh! But what are you saying ! I don't have your money!
- Really ? But then this contravention?
- WHAT TICKET? asked the other three in unison.
- Wait, I'll be right back. I will show you ".
Kaveh brought back the various letters: that of the intimidation as well as the photos, the email from his ex-client, the draft of his letter of apology as well as the fine. Cyno and Alhaitham were in shock. At no time had one of them validated this email. It could only mean one thing: someone had falsified the documents, but also the signatures of two of the most important figures in the Academia. Act which was considered a highly punishable crime.
Alhaitham felt himself shaking with anger inside. Who had dared to hurt his beautiful star?
“Kaveh, tell me. You talked about the plans you showed the Sage. Where are they ? On what basis did he refuse your funding? The scribe's voice was barely above a whisper, yet it seeped in like deadly venom, making the other three tremble.
"I…I don't have them anymore," the blond replied softly.
- For what reasons ?
- They destroyed them… » murmured the Kaveh.
- I did not hear. Speak louder please,” the scribe gently insisted. He had no reason to get angry with the other.
- Hmm… He… He… destroyed them » the answer was given half-heartedly.
At this time, everything went very quickly. Alhaitham suddenly stood up, startling the poor blond.
Cyno quickly followed in the footsteps of the scribe, both leaving for the Academia. Tighnari stayed with Kaveh to reassure him that everything was going to be okay, that nothing was his fault.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
Once there, the two men requested an urgent meeting with the Rani Kusanali. When they entered the meeting room, the latter looked at them with a worried look.
“My dear friends, how can I help you? asked the childish voice.
- Dear Kusanali, some people within the Academy are usurping my identity as Acting Great Sage as well as that of Cyno as General Mahamatra. All this in order to harm one and only person: the star of Kshahrewar, the architect Kaveh.
- Really ? If so, then it really is serious. Could you tell me who these people are? So we could summon them.
- Alas not yet dear Archon. Also, could you give us your agreement to close all entrances to the Academy temporarily, while my Matra soldiers find the main culprits. Let's say we already have suspects.
- Granted ! Hurry my friends! »
Cyno and Alhaitham rushed out of the meeting room, apologizing. Along the way, Cyno questioned the scribe about the man named Helmut.
“He is Kaveh's rival as well as the darling of the sage of Kshahrewar. To put it simply, both had hopes that Helmut would end up valedictorian. But it was without counting on the genius of Kaveh. Thus, he destroyed all their plans and eclipsed his rival. His going bankrupt was the only crack in Kaveh's golden mask. However, the other two saw an opportunity not to be missed. I never thought their hatred would go so far.
Cyno remained silent, absorbing the words of the scribe.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
Together, they went to Alhaitham's office to collect as much evidence as possible. Cyno sent batons to close the entrances and make the announcement himself. Also, he sent a soldier to bring Kaveh and Tighnari into the Academy.
Finally, two hours later, Alhaitham appeared in the company of the Rani Kusanali. The latter took the floor.
“Students and scholars of the Academia, my dear subjects. It is with a heart filled with regret that I stand before you all. I understand your misunderstanding of recent and unusual events. However, a serious thing is currently happening within our beautiful Academia. More precisely towards the darshan of Kshahrewar. Murmurs rose in the crowd. The students of said darshan seemed worried, others too concerned to ignore. Several glances were thrown at Kaveh who entered the hall of the Academy at this moment.
“Kaveh, my child, come,” called the little archon. When the blonde came to her level, she gently squeezed his hand. “Know that I cannot tolerate such behavior. Grand-Sage, I leave the floor to you. As well as you General Mahamatra”.
- Dear students and scholars, in my capacity as Acting Great Sage , I accuse the sage of the darshan of Kshahrewar as well as the scholar Helmut of the same darshan for falsification of official documents. Indeed, they usurped the identity of General Mahamatra Cyno present here as well as mine, in order to harm the architect Kaveh. Thus, they established a false judgment in court which condemns Kaveh to pay the sum of 350,000 moras. Added to this is the fact that they used classified documents against the architect Kaveh. Finally, humiliation and moral and physical harassment was set up against Kaveh, as well as the destruction of a large part of his work. For this, they will have to appear in court. General Cyno, please.
- In my capacity as General Mahamatra, I Cyno, I order that we arrest the Sage of Darshan of Kshahrewar as well as the scholar Helmut of the same darshan. Soldiers, stop them! »
Exclamations were heard from the dismayed crowd. How could sages or scholars even stoop to such baseness? The two criminals were booed by the crowd of students and scholars as they were led away by Cyno.
Kaveh looked shyly at the scribe: “Haitham… How did you know all this? »
- You should thank your groupies at the students of Kshahrewar. They are the ones who came to testify for the most part”. A slight smile appeared on the blonde's lips.
- So it's over?
- Soon, Kaveh. I promise” said Alhaitham placing a kiss on the blonde's forehead.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
Today Lambad's tavern was in turmoil. Yet our four friends were toasting Kaveh's revenge. Indeed, the judgment had found the two evildoers guilty, obliging them to repay Kaveh's debt over three months and excluding them definitively from the Academia. Also, they had to give him back the money for the false ticket, since they had simply pocketed the sum. Alhaitham felt cruel and played on the fact that Kaveh had been persecuted and that the psychological consequences were there. Thus, a compensation had been recorded. In the end, Kaveh was given back all his property, had compensation for his destroyed works and received nearly one and a half million moras for all the repercussions, in addition to the reimbursements of the ticket and his debt.
You could say that that day, Kaveh didn't know if he was dreaming or not. Tighnari had held his hands all the time of the deliberation to prevent the blond from pinching himself until he bled to check if he was really awake or not. Cyno had forbidden Kaveh to even think of refusing the money. Something that the architect accepted even if he did not feel legitimate. When evening came, Alhaitham pampered him to make up for his past ignorance. He had cooked her favorite meal and read her her favorite novel.
Thus, around their table, it could be clearly seen that the four friends rejoiced in the happiness of life, without worrying about the fallen masks.
