Chapter 1: Future Packages
Chapter Text
“Mama!” Jack can running in, he slid on the tiles before grabbing the island table. “Mama, have you seen my lacrosse sticks?!”
“I thought they were in the garage?” Castiel looked up from where he was pouring boiling water into several canisters. He would have asked Dean to do this, but the Alpha had no idea you had to activate them first. “I think they're in there.”
“I’ll check, thanks!” Jack took off and almost bumped into someone who was walking in with bags. “Sorry, Mama!”
“Whoa, what’s wrong?” Lucifer asked moving out of the way.
“My lacrosse sticks!”
“Oh, your Dad put them in the van,”
“Thank god!” Jack held his hands over his heart, then looked at him. “When are we leaving?”
“In less than an hour. Want to go see if everyone is ready?” Lucifer watched as the boy took off. Walking into the kitchen he set the bags down looking at his brother. “I’ve never seen him so flustered before.”
“It’s a big game,” Castiel smiled adding the last of the boiling water into the canister. “There. Need help finishing up the food?”
“Please,” Going to wash his hands he heard a loud thud sound. “Girls are up.”
“Joy,” Castiel sighed then walked towards the stairs calling up. “Claire! Emma! What was that?!”
“Nothing!”
Grumbling Castiel headed upstairs. When he got to the girl's rooms, the two girls were running around the room trying to find everything, Confused about how the room had gone from clean last night to a disaster this morning Castile waved.
“What happened?”
“I can’t find my favorite jacket!” Claire ran around the room tossing things around. “I swear I hung it up!”
“Hey, stop throwing your crap my way!” Emma snapped.
“Claire, it’s right here.” Castiel picked up the Jacket, that was right there handing on the back of the door. “Here, pick this up, please and Emma are you ready?”
“Of course, unlike someone,”
“Oh, shut up.” Claire put on the leather jacket. “Thanks, Mama,”
“Where’s your brother?”
“Which one?”
“Ben.”
“He went with Dad to get ice,”
“Oh good,” Nodding Castiel left the room. “Hurry up, girls.”
Going downstairs he found Lucifer started to make the soup and on the counter Teddy was standing on a step stool, he was helping make the sandwiches.
The child, being born early and with the trauma from being in the whom, had come out small. Even if Teddy was the second oldest in the family he was, well, tiny. If anyone had seen their family they’d assume that Teddy was the youngest.
“Good morning, Teddy,” Castiel gave the boy a hug. “How are you?”
“Hi, Mama,” Teddy smiled. “I’m good, just helping,”
Over the years, the kids, ended up having three with Dean with Ben being the oldest of his biological. Then Emma, but then less than a month later had gotten pregnant with Claire.
After that, he got his birth control back in. Not that he didn’t love his kids. But three babies in four years was too much. At least now that his brother had moved in with them, about two years after Teddy was born, he helped out a lot.
The kids had grown up together. They did ask a few times when they used to correct them about calling both him and Lucifer Mama, but it caused a lot of distress for the younger three. They didn’t understand that only Jack and Teddy got to call Lucifer Mama as well, so in the end, they let it slide. Castiel wasn’t bothered too much about it.
It was no one's business and besides as long as his kids grew up and loved? That’s all that mattered. It wasn’t until the kids were in their preteens that Jack had taken it upon himself to tell them why.
Honestly, they had no idea that he knew. But then again Jack was a sweet kind boy, he was no less sharp. They had a family meeting to explain things and they made the kids promise not to look up anything on the closed case until later.
Well, Ben didn’t listen.
Then Ben told the others, which resulted in the five of them almost suffocating Lucifer from the hugs, his brother had been asleep and had no idea when the five of them had gotten into his room. Just that he woke up unable to breathe with them squeezing him to death.
They just continued to call them both Mama.
“Again, Mrs. Johnson, thank you!” Dean called as he and Ben came into the house. “But we’re fine!”
“What’s that about?” Castiel asked taking the drinks from Ben, who was laughing.
“She still thinks that Dad’s living in sin for having two Omega mates and must repent his sins,” Ben set down the soda. “I told her that Ma’s not his mate but she doesn’t listen.”
“Ah, yes, my favorite rumor,” Lucifer laughed. “To be fair it’s a bit confusing to outsiders.”
“I think so,” Castiel nodded. “Maybe we should have ordered pizza.”
“Pizza!” Teddy shouted.
“That’s when we get there,” Dean said patting Ben’s back. “Trust me I tried that already.”
“Dang,” Ben shook his head. “Hey, Teddy, where’s Jack?”
“Um,” Teddy frowned. “Upstairs, I think?”
“Cool, see you,” Ben patted his head.
“Stop it!” Teddy made a face.
The rest of the hour had everyone rushing around, bags being tossed into the trunk of the huge van. Even though they all had a car, owning a car big enough for eight people was a must-have, and with the top being used for strange, they all climbed in.
Once they had everything, traveling for Jack’s game, they went over the check listen which had the kids running back for chargers, extra shoes and such.
As they got into the van, everyone was ready to get out there, a few bickering moments. Like always it was loud, filled with laughter and of course the music.
--
“I call the soda bed!” Clarie shouted rushing into the hotel room, dropping her bag down. “Ha!”
“You got it last time!” Ben shouted. “Movie it!”
“No!”
“Immature Alphas,” Emma rolled her eyes walking towards the desk, setting her stuff down. “And you did say you’d give up the sofa couch next time, Claire.”
“Oh, shut up!” She frowned and after she and Ben pushed and shoved each other she got up defeated. “Only reason I’m letting you have it, is because I don’t need to get grounded for beating your ass.”
“Like you could!”
“Wanna see?!”
“Hey, that’s enough!” Castiel came in dragging his bag along. “There’s plenty of room and Claire this is a multiple-room suite, so there should be another sofa couch.”
When Claire took off he set his bag down before everyone else walked into the room. Jack came in with his stuff before darting back down to help with the rest of the bags, food, and stuff.
“Mama, can I order pizza now?” Emma asked, already on her phone with a smile. “Please?”
“We’re going out,” Ben said pulling the sofa bed out. “Dad said it’s got food, bowling, and all kinds of stuff.”
“It’s called like Main Event or something like that,” Jack walked in. “And it has laser tag.”
“Cool!”
The room was filled with noise as they got the clothes and items put away. Dean and Castiel were already trying to keep Ben and Claire from killing each other, while Emma, being the mature and rare Beta she was, continued to read facts off her phone about anything and everything.
Jack had switched out his shoes to runner ones. He wasn’t dumb enough to play laser tag. Jumping off the bed he stretched and looked over at Teddy who was making a face.
“What is it?” Jack asked.
“I want to play laser tag…”
“Well, you can play, let’s just keep your inhaler on you,” Jack promised, Getting up he grabbed the bag that held all of Teddy’s medication. He took out the inhaler and slipped it into his bag. “Want to do a breathing treatment before we leave?”
“Crossing his arms Teddy frowned. “I’m not a baby. I’m fine.”
“Never said you were, but I don’t think you having an attack is babyish,” Jack sat down nudging him. “Come on, Teddy, it’s going to be fun and if you take it before we leave you might not have to take it when we come back.”
“…Fine.” Teddy was three years younger, he was almost thirteen. He was very small for his age. He wore eight-year-old clothes. It wasn’t his fault, he knew that he was hurt before he was born, and had to have a lot of medications, but it still upset him. “Can you help me?”
“Always, come on,” Jack smiled. “And then once we’re playing, we’re going to shoot the others.”
“Ain’t no way we’re going to lose to Omegas,” Claire smirked. “We’re gonna kick your asses- Ow! Mama!”
“Don’t curse and don’t underestimate, Omegas,” Castiel raised an eyebrow, he didn’t hit her hard, a small smack to the back of the head once in a while. “Not go get ready.”
Claire mouthed at Jack and Teddy as she walked backwards ‘You’re going down!’
--
“I hear wild screaming,” Lucifer said as they stood in line to order food. “What is the chance that those are our children?”
“I don’t doubt it,” Castiel listens. “I think that maniacal laugh is Claire.”
“You think Teddy’s okay?”
“I’m sure Jack’s keeping an eye on him,” Castiel assured me. “And he’s asthmas been getting better over the years.”
“I know, still worry.” They got to the front of the line and once they ordered they headed back to the table where they had left their jackets. Dean was running around playing with the kids. “You know, I like these little road trips.”
“Me too,” Castiel said down. “We never got to do this.”
“No, but if we did, I think we might have killed each other.”
Nodding Casitel was bearly done sitting down when Claire and Ben appeared out of nowhere hands held out. He stared at them seeing the wild look in their eyes.
“Yes?!”
“Jack and Teddy are killing us, we need more game time to keep playing,” Claire said. “They’re cheating!”
“How are they cheating?” Lucifer asked trying not to laugh, but his smile was there.
“Jack’s small enough to hide behind these pillars so he’s shooting all the right side and Jack the left side.” Ben looked exasperated. “They’ve been taking people out left and right.”
“Sounds like they have a good strategy going on,” Castiel said looking at the cuffs on their wrists and then looked at them. “They shot you over a hundred times!”
“Listen, we can win,” Claire said seriously.
“I don’t think you can.”
Gasping Claire rushed over to dramatically hug Lucifer, all but cradling herself to him. “Mama, do you hear how mean Mama is?”
Rolling his eyes Castiel took out the money. “Leave my brother alone and go play.”
“Hey, it’s not my fault I have two moms and a dad.” Claire snagged the money up and kissed his cheek. “Thanks, bye! Ben come on you slowpoke!”
“I’m getting money!” Ben snagged the money then stopped and came back. “Sorry, thank you! Hey, wait for me!”
“They’re going to crash tonight.” Lucifer took a drink of his soda. “How long until you think they’ll be heading back?”
“In less than twenty minutes,”
Sure enough in twenty minutes the six of them came back. Dean looked like he had fun, Jack and Teddy were smug, and the other three looked like they had come home from an actual war.
“Have fun,”
“Yes,” Jack took a seat. “Me and Teddy wiped the whole floor out.”
“It was fun!” Teddy said, but there was a wheeze in his voice, his chest was going a little too fast. “I e-even took out D-dad.”
“Good job, buddy!” Lucifer said and took the inhaler Jack handed him. He made sure Teddy got a few puffs in before his son sat on his lap. “Catch your breath, then we can eat and bowl.”
“Okay,” Teddy gulped in some breaths. “It was fun!”
“Pizza!” Ben cheered. “Hey, are we bowling in teams or what?”
“I’m not going to be on a team with you,” Jack shook his head. “You get too into it.”
“What? I’m awesome!” Ben waved at himself.
After chattering they all ended up playing against each other, aside from Ben and Claire trying to up one each other, Jack still had the perfect score. Emma rolled her eyes.
“Must be nice to be good at everything.” She said sarcastically.
“It’s easy when you have two people fighting each other,” Jack sat down. “They fight each other, I just aim down the middle. Ya know, using math and such.”
“And a bit of good luck.”
“True,”
--
Back at the hotel, Ben and Claire using the sofa beds, Emma had claimed one of the beds for herself since the others did want one. Lucifer and Teddy shared one, Castiel and Dean were sharing one and Jack got the last bed for himself.
Everyone was on their phones unwinding from the day, and the lights dimmed. Teddy was curled up into Lucifer’s arm, worn out from the day and the blonde Omega dozed off soon after.
Castiel was almost asleep before he heard Claire speak.
“Yo, I just realized that my teacher thinks my Mamas are gay.”
“You just figured it out?”
“Oh, shut up, Ben!”
“No, look, they’re not gay. That’s for Alphas, they’re Omegas, meaning they’d be lesbians not gay.”
“You guys realize our Mamas are siblings right?”
“Yeah, but they're not together, it’s just they both slept with Dad.”
“Ewwww! Claire!”
“Oh grown up Emma, how else do you think all of us got here?!”
Castiel reached into his pocket pulling out his earplugs, while he felt Dean did the same and went back to going to sleep.
Chapter 2: Retirement: Benny/Lucifer Request
Chapter Text
With all the food packed and ready, the island counter filled with lunches and dinners for the nurses and doctors at the Hospital, Lucifer was writing down little thank-you notes.
As he did soon he heard someone walking in. Odd since no one should be home until later. Listening he relaxed recognizing the sound of the footsteps and soon the Alpha walked in.
“Hi, Dean,” Lucifer looked at him. “You’re home early.”
“I got a call from Benny.”
“Benny?” Lucifer perked up. “How is he?”
“Well, he says he’s retiring.” Dean looked like he was surprised saying it out loud. “Last client paid him an insane amount and he figured he’d just retire.”
“That’s good,”
“He’s coming over tomorrow and I was wondering if you can go pick up some ribs and stuff for barbequing? I stopped by to give you my card if, it’s okay,”
“Do you have a listen or should I get what we normally get?”
“Anything you think is best, but here,” Dean handed his card over. “I got to go, there’s a lot of work I need to do before we close.”
“Alright, I’ll go after I pick up the kids.”
“Shit, that’s right,” Dean forgot. “You got it?”
“They can help me shop, but they might want some snacks.”
“That’s fine, Thanks, Luci,”
He had no idea when everyone decided to start calling him that, but he assumed it was Gabriel. He then reached out to light smack Dean’s hand as he tried to steal someone’s lunch.
“I made yours this morning when I packed everyone's lunch.”
“I ate it,”
“Well, these are yours,” Lucifer moved to open the fridge and handed him a prepared meal. “Here. One of my emergency ones.”
“Nice!” Dean took it. “See you later,”
Waving him off Lucifer went back to his thank you notes, then packed up the van with all the meals and set out to deliver them. By the time it was done, he ended up pulling all the kids out.
Ignoring the same curious looks the front office had. One of the things they all agreed on, was not everyone needed to know the story. Still, it took a while for all five kids to head to the office.
--
“I hate everything.” Castiel hissed putting his book down. “Why did I go back to school for this again?”
“Because you wanted to be a nurse,” Lucifer reminded him. “What happened?”
“This might as well be in Greek,” Castiel glared at the book and then noticed all the food around. “You went shopping? We go on weekends…”
“It’s for Benny’s retirement,” Lucifer explained it to him. “Dean said to get whatever so I did.”
“Need help prepping?”
“Sure, and if you look outside you’ll see Dean teaching the kids how to set up the grill,” Lucier pointed at the door. “See?”
“Are they all avoiding their homework?” Castiel asked looking sideways at him.
“Yep.” Lucifer laughed, he watched as Cas grumbled that if he had to study so did all of them. Soon, the younger Omega hustled them all inside telling them to get to the table and start studying. When Castiel came back up to him, he handed him a water bottle. “You study too then you can help.”
Rolling his eyes Castiel took the drink. “Shut up.”
Sticking out his tongue, Lucifer went back to cleaning the meat before seasoning it. Normally he seasoned it his way, but Castel’s mate always had this spices and herbs dry rub ready.
--
They managed to get everything set up, and even got everyone to come over, Sam and Adam had gone after work and their brothers had shown up as well.
The day before once Dean had gotten home he took over using the smoker to keep the meat going all night, and the others headed off to get more supplies for sides and so on.
All the kids helped out, Castiel wanted them to learn how to cook, a life skill, and aside from one of them, Claire, being a little too rough on breaking eggs, it went well.
Lucifer had been setting up the table, trying to be careful with the twice-baked potatoes, and behind him was Ben chattering about a school crush he had. After he had talked his head off to Cas, the young Alpha wanted to retell each detail to him.
“And then- Oh hey! Dad! Uncle Benny’s here!” Ben soon took off to greet the man. “Uncle Benny! What’s up?”
Looking over Lucifer saw Benny walking into the backyard, looked like someone had let him in, and he set down the tray of potatoes and soon Cas was there with the chips and dips.
“Can you go greet him? I need to get the corn out so Dean can grill it,”
“Sure,” Lucifer walked over feeling a little flutter in his stomach. “Hello, Benny, it’s good to see you,”
“Lucifer, it’s good to see you,” Benny saw the blonde Omega reach out to shake his hand and he took it, kissing the back of it. “How are you doing?”
Lucifer blushed a little a smile that strangled it’s way from turning into a full-on grin, face heating up he had to take a moment to take a breath and calm himself down.
“I’m good,” He cleared his throat, and once his hand was free he waved. “Can I get you a drink?”
“I’d like one,” Benny followed him and took the cold beer handed to him. “You look well,”
“Thanks, I am,” Lucifer took a moment. “I’m surprised your retiring,”
“Well, I figured it was time,” He nodded. “I made enough to live comfortably, and I’d like to settle down, perhaps even get a mate.”
“Anyone you have in mind?”
“Someone, not sure how they feel about it,” Benny took a drink. “I’m going to be moving into town,”
“You’re going to get rid of your cabin?”
“No, gonna keep it for vacation or just when I want to go up there.”
“That’s nice,” Lucifer took a few more minutes to chatter with him until someone clung to his side. “Teddy,”
“He’s getting big,” Benny tilted his hat. “Hey, Teddy,”
“Hi!” Teddy was taking in some deep breaths from running around. “Mama, where are the ice creams?”
“If we’re out, there should be some in the deep freeze,”
“Okay, thank you! I’ll be back Uncle Benny!”
“I better go say hello to the others, but why don't we pick this up later?”
“Of course,” Lucifer turned to walk off, gathering some more plates and glasses and when he got back to the table he saw Castiel smiling at him. “What?”
“Nothing.”
--
A few days later Lucifer was picking a few things from the garden. Pulling out a few vegetables, he heard a whistling sound and looked up. The sunhat he had was covering his eyes, so he had to push it up to see who was nearby.
“Benny,” He looked around. “Um, no one else is home.”
“That’s fine, I came to see you,” Benny walked over, holding his hand out to help the Omega up. “I wanted to see if you would join me for dinner. I got a reservation at this nice place,”
“You want me to go?”
“I’ve been trying to work up the courage to ask you for the past few days since I made them.” Benny stood there for a second, maybe a beat then cleared his throat. “This is a date.”
“A date,” Lucifer felt his face reddening. “With me?”
“Yes,” Another beat. “I’ve been wanting to ask you for a while.”
“I’d like to go,” Lucifer couldn’t stop his heart from beating, it had been fast before, with adrenaline and fear, but this time it beat with a rush of a new feeling. Excitement? Joy? He wasn’t sure, he just knew that he wanted to see where this led. “What time should I be ready?”
“I’ll pick you up at seven,” Benny pulled his hand up again placing a gentle kiss there. “I’ll see you then.
Lucifer would be a liar if he didn’t swoon.
Heart fluttering, he waited until the Alpha left before hightailing it into the house to call his brother for help on getting ready, the carrots he had planned on using for stew the next day forgotten in the garden for hours.
Chapter 3: Not so Perfect Ben and the Perfect Jack 1/2
Summary:
Ben thought it was a random funny prank.
Turns out not so much
Chapter Text
Ben stormed into the house feeling pissed off.
The day at school had been a rather bad one. The Omega he had a crush on so him trip and fall flat on his face, even giggled about it! Then he failed another test, got his phone taken away for using it in class, and then was given extra homework.
Throwing his bookbag inside the hall from where the garage connected to the kitchen he went for the cold soda. As he did he heard the rest of his siblings rush in.
The loud noise of everyone being home.
He let out a long sigh, as everyone moved to get their shoes off, The bookbags hung up and he was going to ignore his own bag but his Mama noticed it and called his name to go pick it up.
Grabbing it he put it on his hook.
The scent of food took over his bad mood. Walking back into the kitchen he peeked at what was being made. He saw there were shells being cooked, homemade sauce, and about three loaves of bread with garlic spread on them.
“Hey, Ma,” He said looking at his Blonde Omega partner. “What are we having?”
“Stuffed shells,” Lucifer smiled mixing the filling. “It’ll all be done once everyone is washed up and homework done.”
“Ugh, I hate homework.” He made a face and frowned as Jack sat across from them, using the island counter spot as his place to do said homework, and rolled his eyes. “Whoa, Jack, homework? I thought you always did it at school.”
“I do.” Jack smiled waving. “This is extra credit homework.”
“Course it is.” Ben blinked slowly. “Welp, I’m gonna unwind,”
Leaving as the others wandered over to see what was for dinner, Ben headed upstairs when he realized his backpack was downstairs. He had a choice. Go back and get it or play video games.
Video games were calling his name.
--
“Ben!”
“Whaaaat?”
“I’ve been calling you for ten minutes!” Jack said. “Dinner’s ready, come on!”
“Oh crap, it’s dinner time?” Getting up Ben was glad he was on part of the game he could save. “I’ll be down soon. Is dad home?”
“Yes, he’s downstairs.”
“Cool, be down in a sec.”
Once everyone was downstairs, Ben sat down, he was excited to get his plate, the house smelled amazing, the food looked so good and he grinned like an idiot when it was set in front of him, his stomach growling.
The only thing he didn’t like was that he had to wait. Growing up he had noticed his Mamas, and three of his siblings would pray before eating. Dad did it here and there but it was never forced.
He just thought it was strange. He used to pray with them, but he and Claire stopped a few years ago. His stomach growled as he waited and once they were done he dug in.
As they ate everyone talked about their day from what they did at school, and a few sports things, and Ben was reminded he had a paper her had in his backpack that needed to be signed.
There weren’t a lot of things he was good at, unlike someone in the family but he hated that he more often or not had more than one thing he was good at.
Unlike someone who was good at everything.
“And if we keep winning, we’re going to nationals,” Jack smiled.
“Is that lacrosse or the math thing?” Claire said with a roll of her eyes. “Or are you in both Mr. Perfect?”
“Yes.” Jack nodded. “Both.”
“Why am I even surprised,” Claire took a bite of her food. “As long as it’s not during my school play I’m fine.”
“It’s not, I already checked,”
“What about my Choir recital?” Emma frowned.
“Not then either,” Jack assured. “But next week I want all of you to come see the chess championship.”
“We’ll be there,” Dean nodded. “Is that the final?”
“Yes, and after that I have my track met and of course, my swim met.”
“Do you even sleep?” Ben asked. “When do you find time?”
“I fill my days up so I don’t get bored.” Jack grinned. “And Mama, there is a book signing I want to go to,”
“Where is it?” Castiel asked since Jack was looking at him.
“At the mall,” Jack smiled and turned to his other Mama. “I also got asked to step in the school musical. I have the costume they sent but it’s…”
“Not a good fit?”
“It’s…” Jack reached down pulling out a costume that not only looked cheap but looked like someone had tried to sew a bunch of stuff together and then just resulted in basically gluing it. “Not that great.”
“Okay, first of all,” Lucifer took it looking it over. “We’re throwing this away and I’ll remake whatever it was supposed to be…”
“Wait, my school play?!” Claire frowned. “Why?!”
“No, Claire the musical, not the play. Those are a month apart,” Jack took a bit of his food. “And it’s not a big park.”
“What part are you playing?”
“Just Juliet.”
Ben had to make a tight smiled face and Claire narrowed her eyes before scoffing.
“Just Juliet, he says, as if that is not a main role.”
Rolling his eyes Ben tapped his fingers on the table trying to drum up something to say. He had nothing to think about, and he didn’t even hear when his name was called.
“What?” He looked up.
“I said, what are you doing in school, Ben?” Castiel asked. “Anything exciting?”
“I mean, Nah, just not finding anything I like ya know?” Ben shrugged. “besides, I hate all that after-school stuff.”
“He hangs out with his friends on the bleachers,” Emma said. “While the rest of us do our things.”
“You mean out THING. Jack has things,” Claire waved. “I’m starting to think he’s not human.”
“Oh, speaking of humans,” Jack took out a paper. “There’s an exabit at the museum talking about the human body and not only that-”
Ben tuned out whatever else the Golden Child had to say. He rather just eat the food, get up to this room, and then just play video games. He was lucky enough to have his own room.
Claire and Emma shared one and since it was a huge one, they split it up. Ben got his, Jack had his, and Teddy, with all his medical issues, shared a room with his Mama, but there were two beds in Jack’s room in case their brother wanted to spend the night there.
After dinner, Ben claimed he was going upstairs to do homework, a lie, he was going to play games. As he was there playing, listening to music as the hours passed until he finally figured the had to suck it up and have someone sign his paper.
Ready for a lecture.
Walking by Jack’s room, the door was open with Teddy sitting on the eldest’s bed chattering about a friend, while Jack was building some kind of model for class, he’d bet his left arm it was another extra credit thing.
Teddy, while being the second oldest, has a number of medical issues, both physical and mental. Often they treated him like a little kid, but he was so damn small plus the doctors all said he’d never mentally frown passed ten years old.
Sad, but Ben was good with beating up anyone who bugged his brothers. Yet, here he was being aggravated that while he was ready to get grounded or something, the Perfect Jack was being, well, perfect.
The person son, the perfect student, athlete, the perfect Omega, just the perfect thing to ever exist.
“You’re hovering, Ben,”
Jumping Ben frowned. “Yeah, well, wondering what you making,”
“Recreating a model of DNA,” Jack smiled. “This should give me more than enough extra credit.”
“Hi, Ben!”
“Hi, Teddy,” Ben walked in. “Dude, how much crap do you do?”
All over the blonde’s desk were nothing but papers, models, a script, and so much more so school, sports, and other activities. He picked up one looking it over.
“Do you even sleep?”
“I do, every night at ten.” Jack looked at him. “After might nighttime routine of course.”
“Of course.” Ben rolled his eyes. “You ever get tired?”
“No, why would it? I like all of this.”
“Yikes,” Ben was going to say something when someone called Jack’s name to come help with something. As he left he looked over the model frowning. “Alright, time to face the music.”
“What did you do?”
“I killed someone Teddy,” Ben nodded nonchalantly. “Now, I gotta go confess. Come on, let’s go, you can give Mama those big puppy eyes and maybe I won’t be in too much trouble.”
“Why?”
“Because I’ll give you a candy, that’s why.”
“Yay!” Teddy hurried out the door.
Ben started to leave when he looked back at the model. Without thinking too much about it he took out a little piece, towards the bottom, pocked it, and then looked over Jack’s phone.
It was opened.
For some reason, he had no idea if he was pissed or feeling like pulling a prank, but he quickly turned off the alarm.
--
Jack was sound asleep. He was having a pretty good sleep when someone was shaking his arm. Waking up confused about why he was greeted with the sun being up he sat up.
“Jack, wake up!”
“Wha-what?” Jack blinked looking up at his blonde Mama confused, then he realized that the sun was out. THE SUN WAS OUT?! “What time is it?!”
“It’s almost time to leave for school.” Lucifer felt his head. “Are you alright? You didn’t come down to get breakfast shake.”
“Crap!” Tossing his blanket up he grabbed at his phone seeing it was almost 7:15. “I must not have heard my alarm! Mama, help me, please, can you put all my books in my bag?!”
Running off before he could get to the bathroom. He almost fell when he slid into, the damp floor from whoever had a shower that morning and he grabbed his face wash, trying to speed up his morning routine.
Instead, he did a quick wash and rinse, then brushed his teeth. Not time to get ready like he normally did. Grabbing his towel he wiped his face, and tried to do his hair as best he could.
Running back to his room he ran around getting ready, struggling to get his shoes on, while his mama was getting the last of his things put away. He grabbed his phone checked it, then slipped it into his pocket.
Overslept?!
He never overslept!
“Here, you go,”
“Thank you,” Jack went to grab his model, carefully carrying it out his door. “Mama, is my shake still good?”
“Yes, and I made it the way you like it,”
“Thank you, I’m so sorry, I woke up late,” Jack was halfway down the stairs when the model just wiggled, and then fell apart. “No!”
“Oh crap.”
“What’s going on?” Castiel came rushing seeing the items stumble down the stairs. “Oh.”
“Help me,” Jack was trying to pick them up stuffing some of them in his pockets as he did so. It took them more than a few minutes to grab everything. He got the to kitchen island, and put the items down. “I need to fix this, it’s due today!”
“Whoa, what’s going on?” Claire walked in, backpack over her shoulder with a frown. “What’s got you ruffled?”
“My project broke and I overslept,” Jack was trying to put the thing back together, as he took a fast sip of his shake. He normally made it himself, but not today. “Mama, I need super glue!”
“I have some.”
“What’s going on?” Ben walked in. “Whoa.”
“Not sure, but he overslept.” Emma had been at the table, a book in her hands. “IN other news we might be late, but not because of you two this time.”
“Shut up.” They said in unison.
--
Ben was starting to feel bad. They all went to the same school, but seeing Jack too unsettled was, well, it was unsettling he guessed. The super glue worked but he had been so nervous he put the, uh, well, some thingies in the wrong place.
Which made it incorrect.
The teacher had said so, and even though he explained the situation he wasn’t given credit. Jack had been so upset by this that when he went to throw the thing in the trash, he managed to trip and stumble.
“Ouch!”
“Dude!”
“Ugh, my ankle,” Jack groaned rubbing it. “Oow, ow.”
“Come on,” Ben helped him up. “Let’s go to the nurse.”
“I’m fine,” Jack moved away limping. “It’ll be fine, I got class, stuff to do, just go to your class, Ben,”
“I’m just trying to help,”
“I don’t need help, thank you,” Wincing in pain Jack kept limping and used the wall instead of admitting he needed help. “I got this, just, go, I’m fine.”
Before Ben could turn away Jack managed to somehow trip again and crashed into a teacher, papers flying everyone where the hallways erupted in laughter.
