Work Header

Oh Lover, My Lover

Summary:

Roslynn Clarke had a comfortable life with a fun job and two best friends. She had a fun person to get her rocks off with and a reliable father figure. All that started to change when she was struck by lightning during a jog.

Now, Rose has superpowers, her fuck-buddy's criminal activities are ruining their relationship, and Rose's best friend and long-time crush might actually start feeling the same way.

In short: Rose's life has imploded and she isn't quite sure if it's for the best.

12/27/23: Sorry for the inactivity, I promise I haven't forgotten about this fic. I will be starting a new post schedule starting the 1st.
1/3/24: I lied, this fic specifically is causing too much stress even though I adore it. I will continue working on it in the background but won't be posting anymore for a bit. Sorry to those of you that enjoyed it and were waiting for updates.

Notes:

Hello!
I'm not quite sure how long this will end up being, or how long I will stick with this, but hopefully it will be enjoyable.
There will be a lot of porn in this, but not every chapter will have spicy scenes.
I lied, this work is going on hiatus because it's causing too much stress even though I love it.*
In the End Notes there will be a little bit of context for this starting chapter, but you don't have to ready that.

Chapter 1: Miss Me, Kiss Me

Chapter Text

Rose had just finished up her routine and was making her way onto the floor of the club to start finding customers when she sensed the heavy gaze of a certain someone fall on her. She paused, taking a moment to scan the booths around the left side of the room where he usually watched from. It gave him a perfect view of the stage and was close to the private rooms.

Got you. He was half hidden in shadow on a small couch, legs crossed with a drink, and even though she couldn’t see his face, Rose knew it was him. It was easy to slip into the version of herself that she created for him. At least, that’s what she told herself.

Rose purposefully put a little strut in her walk as she made her way through the crowd to him. When Rose was close enough, he uncrossed his legs and rested his arms on the back of the couch. The corners of his mouth were quirked up in a small smile as his eyes raked over her in appreciation. Rose happened to be wearing one of his favorites, a lacy one piece that was really a two-piece bikini-style with some mesh holding it together.

“Hello, lover,” she purred, sitting on his left thigh, and locking her fingers together behind his head.

Leonard Snart hummed, inhaling deeply. “Roslynn,” He drawled. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were expecting me.”

“I missed you. Thought you forgot all about me.” Rose faked a pout, and ignored the fact that she had, in fact, missed him. It had been difficult lately with Barry and his lightning coma combined with her powers, and Len was one of the only reliable things in her life, as sad as that fact was.

He shifted his leg, urging her to scoot closer to him. “We both know you missed my money more.”

Grinning, she leant in and hovered so that their lips were almost touching, and they were sharing air. “Can’t I miss your company? Would that keep you around a bit longer?”

Len huffed and tilted his face towards hers, making Rose pull back just slightly so that they didn’t break the club’s ‘no intimacy’ rule. “How long you been working?”

“Long enough.”

It took her less than 10 minutes to put jeans and a t-shirt on over her lingerie, change out of her pleasers and into boots, and pay her house fee for the night. Then before she knew it, Rose was in her apartment, lying on her back with Len pulling her jeans off.

She vaguely remembered the drive back to her apartment, but the second the thought entered her mind, Len’s mouth was on her thighs, and she arched into the touch.

He took his time, lightly sucking, kissing, and licking up towards the junction between her thighs. Rose’s skin seemed to buzz with every touch, and she couldn’t stop her eyes rolling back into her head when Len finally laved his tongue over the piece of cloth that covered where Rose really wanted him. Ever since she woke from her coma, it was like any physical touch was magnified to 11.

Rose reached a hand down to guide his head as he pushed her panties aside. Gently, she scraped her fingernails over his scalp, urging him to keep going.

Len’s tongue reached all the right places, only helped when he lifted her legs over his shoulders. Rose quickly knew what mood he was in, and what she was in for. Whenever he started this aggressively, it was because he planned on working her though at least one orgasm before actually fucking her.

Rose surprised herself by moaning when he changed to sucking on her clit and penetrating her with a single finger. It wasn’t enough but was also exactly what she needed.

Every cell in her felt excited and she realized that if Len kept going at this rate, she wouldn’t be able to suppress the need to expel some of that energy. His tongue ground into her clit, making her eyes snap open and try to squirm away to get a little bit of distance for some respite.

Len only held on tighter with one arm, his eyes narrowing at Rose from between her legs. He pulled back to bite her inner thigh. “You can’t get enough, you can’t get away fast enough. You going to make up your mind or do I need to leave you here to think on it?”

“If you would get me off then maybe I wouldn’t be so torn in the first place.” Rose really hadn’t meant to snap, just be a little bratty, but it still earned her another bite, this one harsher than the first and more than enough to leave a mark. Thankfully it would be gone when she woke up. Clients at the club didn’t exactly like seeing the dancers marked up. It ruined the fantasy.

Thankfully, he did in fact return to devouring her. He suckled at her clit with renewed vigor and eased a second finger in with the first. It felt beyond amazing, as many of her orgasms with him did. In the year and a half that they’d been sleeping together, Len had managed to find all her buttons, and he was not above exploiting several at a time.

It was enough to send her careening over the edge, and she felt herself release over his fingers. Fingers which he withdrew so that he could suck every bit of her essence off, then pay attention to the source. His tongue thrust deep inside to collect her release, and he didn’t stop until Rose started twitching and her eyes watered from the overstimulation. Before, it would have been too soon. Now, it caused a second, weaker orgasm. Rose shuddered through it, anchored by Len’s hands and tongue.

Once he was satisfied, he crawled up her body and kissed her deeply. Rose moaned as she tasted herself on his tongue, reveling in the knowledge that he’d spend so much time on her own pleasure and ignoring his.

They licked into each other, tongue and teeth colliding as they attempted to memorize the others’ taste. Rose wrapped her legs around his waist, using it as leverage to pull his hips down so she could grind against his jeans.

She pulled away enough to pant, “Off. All of it, off.” into his mouth before Len pulled her back up into him.

Len listened to her, sitting back on his heels, and taking his leather jacket off, then practically yanking the turtleneck he was wearing off his body. Sadly, Rose missed watching him take his jeans off while she removed her own shirt. When they were both left in their underwear, Len manhandled Rose onto her stomach so he could get to the zipper on the back of her  lingerie.

Shifting onto her hands and knees to help with the removal of the offending garment, Rose arched her back and cast a teasing grin over her shoulder. Spreading her legs, she pressed her chest onto the mattress, presenting herself.

“Beautiful,” Len purred, rubbing a hand over the globes of her ass, then snaking his fingers down to her core.

Rose hummed as he entered her with two fingers, scissoring until he could fit a third, then a fourth. He spent a few minutes working her slowly, thrusting his fingers in and out slowly, then rubbing against that special spot for several moments until she started getting worked up.

Finally, finally, he was satisfied with his torture and drew back so he could remove his briefs.

“You know… you could show me how much you missed me,” he drawled into her ear. Len was draped over her back, one hand on her throat to gently angle her head up and the other supporting his own weight. She could feel the weight of his length against her thigh, tempting her to grind against him.

Grinning, Rose pushed back against him until he yielded and sat up, arms wrapped around Rose to bring her with him. Rose stole a kiss before crawling over to the nightstand and digging out the lube. They stopped using condoms after she was sterilized. When she turned around, Len was on his back and had made himself comfortable.

Rose took a minute to appreciate the view. In one word, he was stunning. Leonard wasn’t insanely muscled, but one could tell that he was powerful, and that was what Rose was addicted to. She liked powerful people. She liked knowing that the men and women that she slept with were capable of being dangerous but chose to be vulnerable with her in the most intimate way.

She crawled over to him and slung her right leg over his waist so she could straddle his hips. One more heated kiss with tongue and teeth and biting, then Rose was squeezing a dollop of their favorite edible lube into her hand and stroking it over his length behind her.

Len’s eyes slipped closed as she rubbed his dick with cold lube. When they started sleeping together, they experimented with temperature play and Rose knew she didn’t need to take the time to warm it up before slicking him up.

Rose’s eyes raked over him, drinking in the sight of the man before her, blissed out as she massaged his cock. It was moments like this that she dreamed about. Not necessarily the sex, but the intimacy and trust that they gave each other.

“Love seein’ you like this. So good to me.” She used her discarded shirt to quickly wipe off her hand, then positioned him against her entrance. With one hand braced on his chest and the other guiding him into her, Rose lowered herself onto his dick, sighing at the fullness.

He was watching her again, hungry eyes taking in the pretty picture she made. Humming, Len rocked his hips up into her, jostling Rose so she had to brace with both hands and startling a moan from her lips.

“Good girl,” he purred. Len’s hands grasped her hips, guiding her as Rose started to move. “Looking so pretty for me.”

“Yeah, lover. Just for you, just you.” Rose lifted herself of his cock until just the tip remained insider her, then she dropped and rolled her hips.

They both groaned, so Rose repeated the movement, eyes rolling back in her head.

“Just for me?” Len’s voice was teasing. They knew that neither one of them was bound to exclusivity, though they both did their best when he was in Central. They also knew that the other rarely slept with anyone else.

Humming, Rose slid her hands from his chest to his shoulders, then behind Len’s head. She lay with her body practically plastered to his. “Baby, we both know you’re mine. I’ve got you wrapped around my- oh… my little finger.”

Tired of taking a passive role, Len thrust up into Rose, pinning her hips to his. Then in one smooth motion, he flipped them over, so Rose was the one on her back.

Now that he was in control, Len started rolling his hips, languidly fucking her into the mattress. Rose grinned up at him, letting small moans escape with every push.

“How do you figure that, hm?” His left hand moved from the bed to lightly press against her sternum in a rather obvious threat.

“Mine to keep, mine to play with. Face it, Leonard, you wanna keep me, too.” Len’s hand slid from her sternum to her throat, not enough pressure to hurt or cut of her breathing, but enough to hold her. Rose knew that she could be playing a very dangerous game, but that just went to her head. “You come back the city and one of the first things you always do is come straight to me.” Rose wrapped her legs around his waist, urging him deeper into her.

Len tightened his hand on her throat, causing her to moan quietly. “And you always let me. You let me touch, and tease, and take. You know who I am. What I am, and you still come running.”

To Rose’s upset, Len pulled away and then out of her. For a split second she thought she really fucked up this time, but then Len was flipping her onto her stomach. They hardly ever fucked like this, which meant it was a rare treat.

Rose heard the cap of the lube flip open and heard Len squeeze more out. She resumed the position she was in earlier, on her elbows and knees, head resting on her hands. Len drove back into her, causing her to cry out into the sheets. His pace was hard and fast, almost angry.

She felt so full, and everything was so hot and slick and addicting. Rose was so close, hovering on the edge. It took only a handful of thrusts for her to reach her third orgasm of the night.

Rose felt like she was practically vibrating, then realized she was vibrating. Her left hand was a blur, and she quickly shifted to hide it under her chest. It took all the energy she had left to contain the vibrations to her hand so that Len wouldn’t notice.

Len, who was still chasing his own orgasm. He drove deep once more, then let out that delicious groan that meant he was finishing. Rose hummed when she felt him release inside her.

They stayed like that, connected, for a minute, just breathing. Rose was able to calm herself down and find time to delight in the post-sex haze.

When he pulled out, Len shuffled back so he could lick up their combined release. Rose let out a noise that was a mix of a whine and a groan. She was delightfully overstimulated and while she could go several more rounds, was ready to go to bed.

Len was thorough, using his fingers to help clean her out, not stopping until she truly was whimpering. When he let her go, Rose flipped over on her back.

“I need a bath. You should join me. Then I’m passing out, you can stay or not.” Sighing, she forced herself to sit up and get off the bed.

“How romantic.”

She flipped him off and made her way into the ensuite bathroom to start the tub. Rose was exhausted from working for six hours and then having her world rocked, so a witty comeback was beyond her capabilities right now. Len made himself useful by throwing their clothes in with her other laundry and started the laundry machine. He was staying, then.

Rose filled the tub with enough hot water that they wouldn’t overflow the tub but would still have enough water to wash up with. Towels were collected and set aside, then Len climbed in and laid back. He offered his hand so she could step in as well.

She laid against her chest, submitting to the warm water and the familiar shape of him. Len was amazing at this part, just as he was at every other. He did his best to wash them off, dragging the washcloth over their bodies and cleaning up any cum and lube that was still on them. Everything after that was a blur, but Rose knew that eventually they ended up in her bed, legs and arms intertwined.

Chapter 2: Welcome Back

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Lenard was quite literally jolted awake. He opened his eyes to lightning in Roslynn’s room. It jumped from surface to surface, arcing over the floor and gathering over the bed.

No. It wasn’t gathering over the bed. It was gathering over Rose. She was still fast asleep amid the chaos. Pale yellow lightning danced over her skin as she lay next to him. Len tried to grab Rose to wake her up, but hissed and yanked his hand back when he was shocked.

With how much lightning was covering her body, Rose should have been wide awake in pain, but she slept soundly. She rolled over, and Len could see her eyes light up under her eyelids.

He was stuck in place, paralyzed as he could only watch. It made him think back to nine months ago. Len knew that when the Particle Accelerator blew up, dozens of people were injured and at least three people were struck by lightning. Len also knew that Rose had been one of them.

Now she was causing a mini lightning storm in her sleep.

Her breath hitched and as if a switch was flicked, the lightning started to stop. The flashes of light died down to flickers. The storm quieted until the only trace anything had happened was a few sparks on Rose’s skin. Then after a minute, those stopped, too.

Rose was awake and looking up at him with the same groggy look she always got when she woke up. “Wha’s wrong?”

Len swallowed and shook his head. “Nothing. Thought I heard something.” He laid back down and forced himself to relax. Surely that hadn’t just happened. Sometimes people saw weird shit when they woke up. It was probably sleep paralysis or some bull like that. Len ran a hand through Rose’s short curls, smiling when she leant into it.

Like a cat.

He looked over her shoulder to where her alarm clock sat on the nightstand. It was already half past nine. “As much as I would love to laze in bed with you, I have things to do.” Those rings aren’t going to steal themselves.

Rose huffed, hiding her face in her pillow. “Was hoping you would stay longer. Barely got to see each other this time. And it was months between your last visit.”

That was a part of their game; faking that they didn’t miss each other when he was gone. Len nudged her shoulder and Rose begrudgingly rolled over. He slid a hand under her head and leant over her to press a kiss against her lips.

He meant it to be sweet but Rose bit at his lips until he obliged and let his mouth open. They licked into each other, tongues and teeth knocking together as they did their best to devour each other. Rose sucked on his tongue, and it was at that point Len knew he had to stop it before they got carried away.

Len pulled back and put his thumb over her lips to make her pause. She only smirked and sucked his thumb into her mouth, moving down until the finger was entirely in her mouth, then hollowed her cheeks. He swore, then pressed down on her tongue to force her mouth open. “I will call you first thing when I get back. Promise. Cross my heart and all that.”

Rose didn’t say anything, just glared up at him. Sighing, Len withdrew his finger and grabbed her jaw instead, using enough pressure to keep her mouth open. Her tongue lolled out, the same way she presented when he was about to cum in her mouth. Speaking of... he tightened his grip and spat directly on her tongue.

With the way she moaned, one would think he did something much more erotic. But she closed her eyes and when he let go of her jaw, she swallowed.

“Brat. Take a shower, eat a meal, drink something. I will call you.”

Groaning, Rose pulled away and flopped backwards. “Fine. I will spend my time eagerly awaiting my lovers return.”

“I’m sure it will be agonizing.”

Len had to force himself to get up and get dressed, then walk out the door and out of the building. Parting, such a sweet sorrow.

Rose let herself fall back asleep for another hour after Len left. It was Monday which meant she didn’t need to head to work until 9 pm, so she had a full day of relaxing and spending most of the time at Jitters. She liked to go there and draw or paint, and Iris liked having someone to talk to when traffic died down during the morning and afternoon crawls.

When she got in the shower, Rose thought back to when she woke up to Len staring at her. It had seriously unnerved him. The way he looked at her was if he saw a ghost. He’d said it was nothing, but she didn’t quite believe him.

Rose tried to move on with her day, even got some quality sketches done at Jitters, but it still weighed on her. There was no way she’d shown signs of her powers? Right? That train of thought inevitably led her back to Barry. He still hadn’t awakened from his coma, which concerned her. The doctors told her and the West’s that there was no reason he should still be asleep. Even Dr. Wells and his (small) staff at S.T.A.R. Labs said it was a mystery.

What concerned Rose was the fact that they were both struck by lightning caused by the Particle Accelerator, and she’d woken up after only three days. And the whole other fact that when she woke up, she could run faster than most people could blink and could phase through walls.

There continued to be a significant part of her that hoped he would be the same as her when he woke up. That she wouldn’t be alone in this insanity. That Barry-

Barry?

Barry had just walked into Jitters. Rose dropped her pencil and practically leapt from her seat to get to him. Iris was already there, jumping into his arms.

“Barry, what the hell? How are you even up? Why are you walking?” Rose couldn’t help that her voice got angrier the longer she spoke but forgot all about being angry when Barry set Iris down and pulled Rose into a three-way hug.

“Why didn’t S.T.A.R. Labs call us?” Iris asked, breathless.

“I just woke up,” Barry said, laughing breathlessly.

“Should you even be on your feet?” Iris stepped back to look at him and Rose used that distance to cling to Barry.

“You scared us, asshole. I was worried you weren’t going to wake up.” Rose felt her eyes go hot as they stung with unshed tears.

Barry pulled Rose further into his chest, wrapping his arms around her. “I swear, I’m okay. I am.”

Rose sniffed and punched him lightly in the shoulder. “Don’t pull something like that again, okay?”

Barry gave her one of his signature smiles that made her heart melt. “Promise.”

“We watched you die, Barry,” Iris said tersely. “You kept dying, your heart kept stopping.”

He looked at Rose, and she nodded. It had happened with her, too. Iris had insisted on Rose staying at the West house in the days after she woke up, terrified that Rose’s heart would stop while she slept.

Barry took Iris’ hand and placed it on his chest, over his heart. “Iris, I’m okay. My heart is still beating. I’m alive.”

Rose watched as Iris looked visibly relieved, expression softening. “Your heart is beating really fast.”

Behind Iris, one of the waitresses, Tracy, Rose thought, bumped into a customer while carrying a tray full of drinks. Rose felt herself slipping into that space where the world around her slowed, though she now knew it was really her moving fast.

Next to her, Rose saw Barry move, looking over Iris’ shoulder. Their eyes met and Rose was overcome by a profound sense of relief. He was like her. Barry’s expression turned to confusion, but he snapped out of it before he could say anything.

The world sped up again and mugs fell to the ground, shattering in a mess of coffee and ceramic.

“Tracy, are you okay?” Iris asked.

Tracy looked incredibly flustered and embarrassed. “Yeah, I got it. So sorry!”

Iris turned back to Barry, grinning. “Dad is going to be so happy to see you! Let me get my stuff, okay? Be right back.”

When Iris left, Barry opened his mouth to ask something, but Rose grabbed his arm and pulled him to where she had been sitting. “Look, I know you have questions. Yes, I saw that. Yes, we will talk about it. But first we need to see Joe so he knows that you are awake. Trust me, I have a lot to fill you in on.” She packed up her drawing supplies and haphazardly shoved everything in her bag.

“Y-yeah, okay. I have so many questions.”

Rose smiled and extended her hand with her pinky raised. Barry’s posture relaxed and they locked pinkies, a gesture they started as children when one of them got overwhelmed. Rose’s therapist told her it was a grounding technique.

Iris drove them to the precinct where Barry was given a very lively welcome by Joe West and several other detectives and officers. Barry looked right back in his element in the precinct.

Officer Matthews came over and apologized for the interruption, but she explained that there was a bank robbery in progress at Gold City Bank, with two confirmed casualties.

“Sorry, Barry, I gotta run,” Joe said, already moving to get his coat.

“Do you need my help?”

“No,” Rose and Joe answered at the same time.

“You need to take it easy. You do not need to jump straight back into work. Listen to the girls.” Joe pointed at Iris and Rose, “Keep him out of trouble. Last thing we need is him in another coma.”

Rose faked a salute, “Yes, sir.”

Joe merely rolled his eyes at her antics. “Let’s go, partner!”

Eddie Thawne, Iris’ secret boyfriend and Joe’s partner, walked up. “Hey, Allen. Good to see you. Iris.” His voice softened when he said Iris’ name.

“Eddie,” Barry replied, visibly confused.

“Detective Thawne. You should get going, my dad doesn’t like to be kept waiting.”

Eddie gave them a strained smile and patted Barry on the shoulder, then followed Joe.

Barry had watched him go, smiling, but then saw the memorial case where the fallen officer’s pictures were displayed. He was looking at Detective Chyre’s photo. Right, Barry had fallen into his coma about the time when Joe and Chyre engaged with the Mardon brothers.

“The night of the explosion, Clyde Mardon shot and killed Chyre. Mardon and his brother died trying to escape; their plane crashed,” Iris explained.

“It was struck by lightning after they took off. The storm wasn’t as forgiving with them as it was us.” Rose had heard about the incident after she woke up. Joe had been a mess. His partner was dead, his foster son was in a coma still, and Rose had just woken up.

An officer called out for Iris, and she excused herself to go talk to him. Another officer said hello to Barry and Rose, and while he was distracted, the man he and his partner had in cuffs went for one of their guns.

In less than a second, Barry was behind the man, slamming his face down into the desk, then right back at Rose’s side. It was only because of her ability to move at the same pace he could that she even saw it happen.

“We are definitely talking about that.” Barry whipped his head around at her, like he’d already forgotten she knew. “Yeah, I saw that. Like I said, we have a lot to discuss.”

“You alright?” Iris asked from behind them.

Barry took a shaky breath. “Y-yeah. I just need some air. I’ll call you tonight, okay?”

Iris raised a questioning brow at Rose. “I’ll watch him.”

It was enough to satisfy their friend, so Iris let them go. As soon as they were outside, Rose pulled Barry into an alley.

“What is happening to me?!” he whisper-shouted. “Why can I move like that? I feel like I’m going insane!” Barry was breathing erratically, shaking to the point of almost losing his balance.

Rose grabbed his shoulders and made him look at her. “You need to calm down. I know you are totally freaked, but you aren’t alone. I can help you understand, but you need to take a few breaths, okay?” Barry nodded and inhaled deeply before exhaling. “When I woke up, I was feeling exactly what you are going through right now. Everything was different, I felt like I was about to explode. You know when the world suddenly slips away and slows down?” Barry nodded. “That’s you, moving faster than anyone else can process. The world isn’t slowing down. You are speeding up. I don’t know why or how it happened, or why we both have the same powers, but I can help you get through this.”

“We need to go to S.T.A.R. Labs.”

Cue record scratch. Rose let go of Barry, concerned that maybe something did damage his critical thinking. “Excuse me? Why on Earth would we go to the place that did this to us? Have you ever watched any movie where people are different? I know they’ve been taking care of you, but trust me, I never agreed with it.”

“Rose, there’s people there that can help us. I met them when I woke up, they seem good.”

Rose scoffed. “Yeah. ‘Seem’ being the operative word. What happens when they decide to start experimenting on us? Because they will. We don’t even know what they did to you for the nine months that you were in their care.” There was no way that she was agreeing to be S.T.A.R. Labs Guinea Pig. She’d been able to take care of herself for long enough, thank you.

“What if we don’t tell them about you. That you have the same abilities. We just say you are there to watch over me until you are comfortable telling them.”

“If. If I’m comfortable.” Rose eyed him warily. She knew that Harrison Wells was his hero. That in Barry’s eyes, he could practically do no wrong. But he had done wrong. Wells’ Particle Accelerator had killed several people and hurt many more. That machine stole nine months of Barry’s life and almost killed them. But there was no stopping Barry once he set his mind to something, and she’d be damned if Rose let him walk into the lion’s den alone. “Fine. I will go with you, but if I get the feeling that something is wrong, you will listen to me.”

“Agreed. Promise. Just give them a chance.”

“Fine. A chance.”

Notes:

So, Barry's here! And there was a Leonard POV. There will be changes in POV (Rose, Barry, Len) but will focus on Rose. There won't be a pattern to the changes in POV, but you can expect at least a brief switch every few chapters or so.

Chapter 3: Part One: Friends (Maybe)

Notes:

This is the first part of chapter three, the second part will be posted right after. Part two was supposed to be chapter four but felt too disconnected to the second half and was also too long when combined with chapter three, so I did this. Chapter 3 part 1 is the normal length you can expect but part 2 is about half that. It was too short for me to post on a separate day, so two updates today!

Chapter Text

Okay, so Rose did have to admit that Dr. Snow and Cisco did seem like good people. Cisco was a geek that was also an incredible engineer and Dr. Snow was, well, a doctor that excelled in biochemistry. She was also a bit of a skeptic, not believing that Barry could move at superspeed. They’d been a little wary of Rose joining them for the demonstration, but Barry had insisted that Rose be there, or it wouldn’t happen.

They were at the abandoned Ferris Airfield, as Dr. Wells wanted to use the landing strips to measure Barry’s speed.

“How does it fit?” Cisco called into the trailer where Barry was getting into some sort of… thing that would measure his vitals.

Barry came out in an all-red outfit. He was wearing running shoes, knee and elbow pads, a helmet and goggles, gloves, and a skin-tight suit that reminded her of what their high school wrestling team wore.

Rose snickered. “And I thought some of the things I wear for work are embarrassing.”

“It’s… a little snug.” Before Rose could open her mouth to continue her teasing, Barry beat her. “At least the things you wear actually look nice. I look ridiculous.”

“You’ll be moving so fast no one will see you,” Cisco said, trying not to laugh but also reassure him. “Dr. Wells will be measuring your energy output, Caitin, your vitals.”

Barry gave him a questioning look. “What do you do?”

“I make the toys, my man! Check it. This is a two-way headset with a camera I modified. Typically designed to combat battlefield impulse noise, but in your case, potential sonic booms.” Cisco was holding a round, black disk with a lightning bolt on it, attached to an earpiece.

Cisco walked away to check in with Wells and Dr. Snow came over to, presumedly, calibrate the suit.

“What?” she asked Barry.

“Nothing. I just noticed you don’t smile very much.” For fucks’ sake, Barry.

“My once promising career in bioengineering is over, my boss is in a wheelchair for life, and the explosion that put you in a coma also killed my fiancé. So, this blank expression kind of feels like the way to go.” With that, Dr. Snow walked away.

Barry glanced at Rose and caught the judgmental look she was giving him. “What?”

“You know damn well not to ask a lady why she isn’t smiling. Iris and I taught you better manners than that.”

He sighed, “Yeah, I get it, it was a dick move.”

“Mr. Allen,” Dr. Wells called, “While I am extremely eager to determine your full range of abilities, I do caution restraint.”

Barry nodded and walked over to where the start line was set up and got set in position. He glanced back at Rose, and she nodded in encouragement. She might not agree with the S.T.A.R. Labs part, but they would need to test his abilities, whether it was with them or just her.

He took off with such force that it blew back the cover they’d set up. From where they were, they could just see a blur of red with yellow lighting zooming down the runway.

“He just passed 200- 300 miles per hour,” Cisco called out.

“It’s not possible,” Dr. Snow breathed beside Rose.

Barry was running faster than any other person alive, and Rose could imagine the sheer joy he was feeling. The way the lightning electrified every cell in the body. The way the wind felt as it whipped at skin combined with the solid ground under foot.

He was running until there was a crash and they heard him scream. Rose didn’t even think before she moved, going from 0 to 100 in less than a second. All she knew was her friend was hurt and she needed to be there. In a matter of seconds, she was by Barry’s side.

He’d crashed into a bunch of plastic barrels and was clutching his, very clearly, broken wrist.

Rose helped him stand, then picked him up bridal-style before rushing them back to the observation tent. “First thing I’m teaching you is how to stop.”

When they got back to S.T.A.R. Labs, the first thing Dr. Snow did was run an x-ray, then got to work setting the break.

“It looks like you had a distal radial fracture,” Dr. Snow explained a few hours later, showing him the first x-ray, she took.

“Had?” Barry asked.

Dr. Snow Swiped to the second x-ray she took a few minutes ago. “It’s healed. In three hours.”

Barry looked alarmed, then turned to Rose who shrugged. “Accelerated healing is one of the perks.”

“Speaking of,” Dr. Wells spoke up, “We should talk about the fact that you, Miss Clarke, have powers as well. And the fact that you neglected to tell us.”

Rose bristled. “I didn’t ‘neglect’ to tell you anything. I chose not to tell you because, frankly, I don’t trust you. I only agreed to come with Barry because I knew he’d come with or without me and I wasn’t leaving him alone with you.”

“You said one of the benefits. What are the others? And does that mean there is downsides?” Cisco asked.

Sighing, Rose nodded. “Yes, there are. Benefits are the speed, the healing, reflexes, awareness. The downsides are what happens because of that. I’m not a scientist or a doctor so anything I know is from doing research and applying guesswork. I think because our bodies operate at superspeed, so does our metabolism. We can heal fast but that means we also have to consume an excessive amount of calories. Our metabolism also makes it so we can’t use substances. No alcohol, no painkillers, no drugs. I was accidentally starving myself for about a week or so before I realized why I was so hungry.”

“How many calories are we talking about?” Dr. Snow asked softly.

“On a normal day when I work out and go to work, I eat about 8,000. On a rest day maybe 6,000. That’s with minimal superspeed. To be safe I’ve started eating an additional 1,000 or so calories for every half hour I use my speed. Obviously, that goes up with the action and the speed.”

Barry stared at her. “I can’t eat that much. How do you even eat that much?”

Rose shrugged. “You’ll be hungry soon. You won’t be asking me that when you feel like your stomach is eating itself.”

Dr. Wells sighed, “I hope you will be more forthcoming with us from now on. It seems you have a good understanding of what your body needs and how you’ve been affected. That could help tremendously with Mr. Allen’s adaption.”

It must have been obvious that Rose was not eager to help, because Dr. Snow placed her hand on Rose’s shoulder. “This is a lot that you’ve had to figure out by yourself. Please let us help you. You said you don’t trust us, and that is completely understandable. If you just want the bare minimum testing to make sure you are alright, we understand. If you want nothing to do with us, we also understand. You are more than welcome to just be here for your friend.”

Rose bit her lip and considered for a minute. “Fine. But I need to know exactly what tests are being run on the both of us. I will share everything I know in exchange for complete transparency. That’s the deal.”

Dr. Snow smiled at her, and Rose could see Barry’s relieved expression beside her. “If it’s alright with you, we could start now?”

Barry stood up, “Sorry for interrupting, but I told Iris that I’d call her, and I want to check in before she freaks out.”

Rose laughed and shooed him. “Go, I’ll call you in a bit.”

“You sure you’ll be okay by yourself?”

“Please, if I don’t like something I can bail before anyone here can blink.”

Cisco snorted and Barry let himself be walked to the door.

Rose spent the next hour or so giving blood and submitting to scans. Dr. Snow (Please call me Caitlin, it’s only fair) was clinical but considerate, letting Rose take a break between tests. Cisco gave her licorice and sang to himself as he worked. Dr. Wells quickly made himself scarce, which kind of rubbed her the wrong way, seeing as he was so interested in Barry.

She was sipping on juice when Cisco rolled his chair over to her, headphones around his neck. “Soo… what do you do? I know Barry is a CSI and his sister works at Jitters, but I haven’t heard much about you, which is surprising given how much time she and her father visited Barry.”

“I wasn’t too keen on visiting the place that turned my life upside down, and Joe and Iris gave me updates every time they came. Anyway, I work at a club. As a dancer.” Rose waited for his reaction. There were typically three that she got. The person who was disgusted, the person who was interested a normal amount, and the person that wanted too much detail.

“So, like a stripper.”

There was a strangled cough behind her, and Rose turned to see Caitlin. She was wide eyed and looked like a deer in the headlights. Rose quirked an eyebrow at her.

“Sorry, I’m not judging, I just… didn’t expect that.” Her cheeks were flushed as she quickly moved to find something to do.

“Honestly, not a bad reaction in my book. I’m starting to like you guys and I would be disappointed if you were judgmental.”

Cisco grinned like she’d just declared him as her best friend. “Neat. I bet Detective West had some choice thoughts about your career.”

Rose laughed. “Joe practically became a surrogate dad to me after my mom died. I was already 18, but he taught me all about being an adult. So, yeah. He was less than thrilled when I started working at the club. Our agreement is I don’t talk about it around him, and he trusts me to take care of myself. He did make me take self-defense classes, though.”

“I want to get your thoughts on something. Follow.” Cisco stood up suddenly, and Rose tossed a concerned glance at Caitlin, who just shrugged.

Cisco led her down a few hallways before showing her to a workshop space. In the center was a mannequin wearing some sort of red costume. There was a cowl that covered the top portion of the head but had eye holes, a gap for the mouth and cheek area, and then a strap on the chin. In the center of the chest was a circle with a lightning bolt like the earpiece Cisco had given Barry earlier.

“You made Barry a superhero costume.”

“Hell, yeah, I did. It’s made of a tripolymer material of my own creation and the same stuff that rockets are coated in for reentry into the atmosphere. It’s extremely durable and nonflammable. Should hold up well under all that lightning you guys generate. You like?”

Rose walked around it, admiring the intricate details. “You made this… today?”

“Yup! I figure now that you two have superpowers, it’s not really a jump to being superheroes. I want to make you one, too, but I don’t have your measurements.”

Rose looked at him like he’d grown a second head. “You want to make us superheroes?”

“Is that not what I just said?” Cisco asked, giving her a little attitude. “I mean, haven’t you thought about it? Helping people?”

“Well, yeah. I mean I’ve helped a few people here and there, but I never considered,” Rose gestured vaguely to the mannequin. “This. This is a lot.”

Cisco walked up and put a hand on her back then made a sweeping gesture. “Think about it. You and Barry, running around the city, helping people, stopping crime. You do the work and I get to make the costumes and the toys. I’ll be your guy in the chair.”

“Guy in the chair?”

He stared at her. “Yes. You know, the guy that does the hacking, and the tracking. I’ll show you where to go.”

“I’ll consider. But I want to see a mock-up costume first. Something blue and silver.”

Cisco whooped. “Yeah! I like it! A good contrast between you and Barry but matching at the same time. I’ll start working on a couple options. But we should go make sure Caitlin doesn’t need you for anything else.”

Rose nodded and let him lead her back to the Cortex, the name of the central room everyone operated out of. They got there just in time to see Barry storm in.

“We weren’t the only one’s affected by the Particle Accelerator, were we?!”

Rose looked between Cisco, Caitlin, and Dr. Wells. Dr. Wells who sighed and shrugged his shoulder.

“We don’t know for sure.”

Barry was fuming as he walked over. “You said the city was safe. You said there was no residual danger. But that’s not true, so what really happened that night?”

Dr. Wells tapped at a tablet on his wheelchair and gestured to a 3-D simulation of the explosion on one of the monitors. “Well, the Accelerator went active, we all felt like heroes, and then… it all went wrong. The dimensional barrier ruptured, unleashing unknown energies into our world. Antimatter, dark energy, x-elements-“

“Those are all theoretical,” Barry interrupted.

“And you theoretical are the pair of you? We mapped the dispersion throughout and around Central City, but we have no real way of knowing what or who was affected. We have been searching for other meta-humans, like yourselves.”

Rose held up her hand. “What do you mean ‘meta-human’? Is that what you are calling people with powers?”

“Yes, Miss Clarke, that is exactly what the term means. Changed humans, changed from the Particle Accelerator.”

“I saw one today,” Barry said. “He’s a bank robber and he can control the weather.”

Bank robber who can control the weather? But that sounded like- “It’s one of the Mardon Brothers, isn’t it?”

Barry nodded.

Cisco let out a giddy laugh. “This just keeps getting cooler.”

“This is not cool,” Barry snapped. “Clyde Mardon shot and killed a cop. He’s supposed to be dead, but thanks to your Accelerator, he’s killing again!” Barry took a breath and calmed himself, “Mardon must have gotten his powers the same way we did, the storm cloud. And he’s still out there. We have to stop him before he kills someone else.”

Barry was about to storm off, and Rose started to go after him when Dr. Wells called out to them.

“This is a job for the police.”

Barry whirled around and Rose seriously got concerned that he was going to start swinging. “I work for the police!”

“As a forensic assistant. You are not a cop.”

“You are responsible for this,” Barry hissed. “For him.”

“What is important is the two of you!” Wells shouted. “Not me. Not this. I lost everything. But then you broke your arm, and it healed in three hours. Inside your bodies could be a map of gene therapies, medicine, vaccines, treasures buried in your genetic code. And we cannot risk losing everything because you want to go and play hero!”

Rose scoffed. “This is exactly why I didn’t want to come here in the first place. You don’t want to help us; you want to use us. That’s all we are, something to exploit. We’re leaving.”

Barry didn’t even try to pull away when she grabbed his hand, if anything he led the way out.

Chapter 4: Part Two: Storm Warning

Part 2 of chapter 3

Chapter Text

Barry had insisted on going on a run by himself, which wouldn’t have concerned Rose if not for the fact that he didn’t really know how to stop without crashing. It was 6 pm when she saw him again, and he briefly explained that he’d run to Star City to visit a friend. Because yeah, they could just do that.

Rose had taken time to think about what had happened over the course of the day, and to call Iris. She didn’t trust Wells. That was a fact. Rose was convinced that the man had some agenda that he wasn’t telling them about. But Caitlin and Cisco were another story.

Cisco wanted them to be heroes. He was planning on it. And while Rose didn’t know where Caitlin stood, she guessed it wouldn’t be that difficult to convince her.

So, when Barry got back, they agreed that the two of them would go back to S.T.A.R. Labs and try to convince their (hopefully) new friends. Barry had stopped by the precinct and gotten the files of all unexplained and unsolved cases from then to the Particle Accelerator explosion.

They, with Cisco and Caitlin, spread everything out over a table.

“There’s been a sharp increase in unexplained deaths and missing people. Your meta-humans have been busy.” Caitin and Cisco both inhaled sharply and stared at the table. “Look, I’m not blaming you. I know you didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I know you all lost something. But this did happen, and we need your help to catch Mardon.”

“The cops can’t stop someone like this,” Rose explained. “Mardon was dangerous before he got powers, and now he’s a walking natural disaster. He’s killed three people just today, and he will continue to take more lives.”

Cisco took a breath, then smiled. “If we are going to do this, I might have something that can help.” He excitedly led them to his workshop where the superhero suit was. He gave a more detailed explanation to Barry and assured him that this would protect him. “Rose gave me permission to start working on one for her, so soon you’ll both have one.”

Barry looked absolutely awe-struck, mouth open and everything. “This is perfect. But how are we going to find Mardon.”

“I had a thought about that,” Caitlin piped up. “I retasked S.T.A.R. Labs satellite to track meteorological abnormalities over Central City and it just got a ping. Atmospheric pressure dropped 20 millibars in a matter of seconds. I’ve tracked it to a farm just west of the city.”

Rose looked at Caitlin’s tablet. “That’s the same place Mardon and his brother went the night of the explosion. It’s where he shot and killed Chyre.”

“Barry, you should suit up. Rose, I only had enough time to make you a prototype mask, but it will allow us to stay in contact with you and hide your face.” Cisco opened a case to reveal a similar mask to the one on Barry’s costume.

It was a deep blue with the same openings for the eyes and face, though the top of the head wasn’t entirely encased, leaving room for her hair to create a fauxhawk. The earpieces had the same lightning bolts as Barry’s, though hers were silver, not gold. There was also silver detailing around the eye and face openings.

Rose used her speed to get it on, which was a smart choice because it took a few times to get it properly positioned and to get her hair to work with her. It looked a little out of place with the dark jeans and sweatshirt she was wearing, but Rose had to admit that she looked badass.

Barry had followed her lead in superspeeding the suit on, and he took longer since he had the full suit. A process that would have taken several minutes took less than one, but to a person that moved at superspeed, it still felt like they were wasting time.

When they were finally able to leave, it only took a few minutes to get to the farm. The first thing Rose saw was a twister, though instead of reaching into the clouds, it was centered on the ground. Mardon must be inside it.

The wind from the twister pulled a wooden pallet from the barn and flung it straight at Joe’s police cruiser. Rose ran forwards and saw that Joe and Eddie were braced against the driver’s side, and Eddie looked injured, possibly unconscious.

Barry zipped past her, launching himself directly in the path of the pallet before it could hit Joe and Eddie. Meanwhile, Rose grabbed Joe and carried him at superspeed to the other side of the car so it would be a shield. Then she did the same for Eddie, confirming that he was unconscious.

Rose heard the crash of the pallet on the ground and saw Barry struggle underneath it. By the time she got to him, he’d managed to push it off himself.

“Guys, this thing is getting closer,” Cisco said over comms. “Wind speeds are 200 miles-per-hour and increasing. Can you hear me?”

Rose tapped her comms and shouted an affirmative over the cacophony of sound. The cowl did little to block out the wind.

“If it keeps up, this could become an F-5 tornado.”

They looked at each other in horror. “But this is going towards the city!” Barry yelled. “How do we stop this?”

“We can’t exactly fight a tornado,” Rose said. How in the hell were they supposed to stop a not-so-natural disaster?

Barry looked at Rose, hopeless. Then he got that look in his eye that said he was about to do something incredibly idiotic. Like fighting a tornado. “What if we unravel it? We can run in the opposite direction that the funnel moves in, cutting off its legs!”

Rose faintly heard Cisco say something about 700 miles-per-hour, and Caitlin chimed in warning that their bodies might not handle it.

“I can!” Rose insisted. “I’ve tested myself; I can get there.”

“Rose, you need to be sure,” Caitlin insisted. “If you can’t, you will die.”

Steeling herself, Rose turned muted her comms and ran straight towards the column of wind, and quite possibly death. She inhaled deeply and exhaled, feeling the energy coursing through her body. Lightning buzzed over her skin, electrifying her cells.

It was difficult to run neat circles around a moving target, but she quickly got the hang of it. The wind ripped at her clothes, and she found herself wishing for Cisco’s costume.

There was a new burst of light and Barry was running behind her. Rose was outpacing him, though not by much.

Rose could see Mardon in the center of the tornado every few seconds, and she saw the exact moment light gathered in his hand. It shot out at Barry, knocking him backwards and off his feet. She wanted to check in, to make sure he was okay, but the tornado was still going, if a little slower.

So, she kept running, urging herself to go faster. Rose could hear noise in her comms, but she was so focused on not messing up that she ignored it. A second later, Barry was at her side again.

Their combined power made the tornado falter, a blip in the wind speed. It was working. It only took a few more moments, a few more laps before the tornado was struggling to hold together. Mardon screamed, trying to regain control.

Then he stopped, and it was like a bomb had gone off. The twister collapsed and sent a blast of air out, knocking Barry and Rose to the ground. There was so much dirt and dust in the air that it was hard to see for a minute, and Rose struggled to get her bearings. She could see Barry to the left of her, he’d pulled his cowl back, exposing his face.

“Hey!” Mardon was still standing, and he had a gun. He shifted between pointing it at Barry and then at Rose as they stood. “You’re like me. I didn’t think there was anyone else like me.”

“We’re not like you,” Barry snapped. “You’re a murderer and a thief.”

Mardon made his decision, cocked the gun, and aimed at Barry’s chest. Lightning crackled around Rose as she prepared to intercept the bullet when a different gun went off twice. Mardon’s body jerked as the bullets hit him in the chest. Barry and Rose whipped around to see Joe running over, brandishing his gun.

Fuck. They were screwed.

“Are you okay?” Caitlin asked.

“We’re fine. Mardon’s dead.”

She stared at Joe, silently as he approached. Barry sunk to his knees, and Rose found herself mimicking him. That was the most she’d used her speed at once, and the fastest she’d gone for such an extended period, even if it was a few minutes.

When he was a few feet away, Joe followed suit, and they stayed like that for a moment.

Joe opened his mouth a few times, failing to say whatever he was trying to. “You should go,” he managed.

Rose left first, arriving at S.T.A.R. Labs minutes later. She ditched the mask with Cisco and assured Caitlin that she was fine, she just had to get to work. Craig was going to be pissed if she was late, and she’d already told him she was working tonight.

When Barry got there, Rose got his attention. “I’m coming over after work.”

“You are?”

“Iris made me stay with her and Joe after I woke up and she’s worried about you being by yourself. So, either I come over or Iris freaks.”

Barry smiled fondly. Iris had been the main caretaker of their friend group, stressing about making sure they were doing okay. “I’ll get food, you still have a key, right?”

“Yeah, I’ll get in around 2 am. I’ll be quiet.” They used to sleep over at each other’s places all the time, this was just a return to the norm.

They said goodbye and Rose ran home to put her bag together and get to work before her boss lost it.

Chapter 5: Besties With Benefits

So I haven't updated in 4 days. Oops. Have some Barry POV and light porn.

Chapter Text

When Barry got home, he ordered two extra-large pizzas and showered. It was then that everything started to become real. Logically, he knew that everything was happening and understood it on a certain level, but now it was truly sinking in.

He’d lost nine months. Nine months of being in a coma while the rest of the world moved on. And when he did wake up, Barry had discovered superpowers. Iris had a boyfriend. Rose also had superpowers.

His stomach churned and it was then that Barry realized he had totally zoned out in the shower. He finished washing up and changed into sweats and a graphic tee. The food came shortly after, and Barry noticed he was starving. Rose hadn’t been kidding about the caloric need.

Barry ended up finishing one of the pizzas and three glasses of water before he felt somewhat full. At this rate, most of his paycheck would be going towards food. After going to the bathroom and cleaning up his dinner, setting out clothes for Rose and leaving a note about food and taking a shower, Barry allowed himself to drop into bed and finally relax.

He’d fallen asleep quickly and woke up a few hours later when the bathroom light turned on and the door shut. A moment later, Barry heard the shower start. He must have dozed off, because he woke up again to Rose getting in bed as slowly as she could. Barry huffed a laugh and lifted the comforter so she could slide in.

“I was trying not to wake you,” she grumbled. Rose pulled her pillow so she could lay on it but also cuddle into it.

“It’s fine, you know that.”

She smiled and relaxed into the bed, looking at him with sleepy eyes. “I missed this. I missed you.”

“I’m sorry I was gone for so long. But I’m back now.” Barry watched her as she pulled the blanket up and closed her eyes. There was a part of him that felt like cooing over the fact she was wearing his clothes and sleeping in his bed, but he scolded that part. Rose was his best friend, and she was here because she and Iris worried about him. This was not the time to focus on the fact that Rose looked like she belonged here, in his bed, with him wearing- no. Not the time.

It took considerably longer for him to fall asleep again. In the end it was the sound of Rose’s breathing that lulled him to sleep.

Barry woke to a warm body curled up against his. At some point, Rose had moved closer and rolled over, so his chest was to her back. Barry’s right arm was slung over her waist, and they were both using his left arm as a pillow.

His heart started pounding as he realized what position they were in. First, there were the thoughts last night. Now he’d woken up wrapped around her. And sure, cuddling wasn’t exactly abnormal for them, awake or not. But that had been the norm months ago. Barry was still adjusting to the time difference, but for Rose, they hadn’t done this in months. What if she didn’t mean for this? What if-

Rose shifted subtly and Barry went from concerned to mortified. He was hard. He had a goddamn erection, and he was cuddled up with his best friend who was practically plastered to his front. Forget Rose being upset about accidental cuddling, this was significantly worse.

If only he could pull away without her waking up, then he could get to the bathroom and take care of it, and she’d be none the wiser. Yep. That was the plan. He just had to untangle himself from Rose who was a notorious light sleeper. Fantastic.

Slowly, Barry lifted his arm and started to pull it away when Rose let out a huffy half-laugh.

“Trying to make a sneaky escape, I see.”

Barry froze. “You’re awake.”

Rose pulled away and rolled over, trying to conceal her smile. “I started to wake up and then you got really tense suddenly. Figured you started panicking but I didn’t know what you were going to do so I let you figure it out.” Her eyes flicked pointedly down at his crotch, then up to meet his eyes, cocking an eyebrow.

Barry’s face went hot, and he rolled over on his stomach. “You are cruel.”

She scoffed. “What, did you think I was gonna be upset?”

“Little bit.”

“Dude you just got out of a nine-month coma. And it’s not like I’m surprised with the way that the powers affect me.”

Barry turned his head, narrowing his eyes. “What do you mean by that.”

Rose blinked at him, apparently realizing what she said. “You know, like sex stuff.”

“Sex stuff,” Barry echoed. “I have no idea what that means.” They’d been open about sex since they were teenagers, and Rose didn’t have a problem telling him about what she knew, given he was comfortable.

“Well, everything else is sped up or heightened. Sex gets a little more… intense.  Like before, I could get off one or two times before it was too much. Now I can go several times, sometimes right after.” Barry just stared. “Basically, the refectory period I had before is gone. Don’t get me wrong, it still wears me down to orgasm several times, but I’m still able to. Oh, and the vibrating.”

“Vibrating. There’s vibrating?” Barry’s voice was hoarse, and he was suddenly very happy he’d turned onto his stomach because now he couldn’t stop imagining Rose spread out on his bed, naked and wracked with pleasure. Barry might not have seen her completely naked before, but he’d seen her pretty damn close, and it was easy enough to fill in the gaps. The way she would arch her back, tattoos a colorful contrast against her skin. He had the sudden urge to see lightning dance on her bare skin.

Rose suddenly started shaking the same way his hand vibrated when his speed activated. “Usually I can keep it contained, but yeah. It’d be fun if I could actually use it with anyone, but that would mean telling them about my powers.”

“I know about your powers,” Barry blurted. The second he realized what he said, he snapped his mouth shut and his eyes went wide. “I mean- uh- I didn’t-“ He tried to stammer out an explanation that wouldn’t make it sound the way it did, but he couldn’t find the words.

“Barry Allen, are you propositioning me?” Rose gasped, faking dismay.

“Maybe? I shouldn’t have said that, I’m sorry-“ He was cut off by Rose leaning in and gently brushing her lips against his. It was soft enough to not really be a kiss, but it was also not not a kiss. His face burned, and Barry knew that he was blushing furiously. “What?” It came out as a whisper, and definitely not a squeak.

Rose pulled away slightly so she could talk without touching him, “If you want to have sex, I’m down. I just have some questions about rules.”

His mind blue-screened. “Rules?”

“I mean like exclusivity. If that’s what you want, I need to know. I still have this thing going with someone else and I need to know if that needs to stop. Also, if it would be just a one-time thing or something that happens multiple times.”

Oh. Okay. So, she was already considering having sex multiple times. Rose was planning on having sex with Barry often enough that she was willing to stop an almost two-year situationship if Barry wanted to be exclusive. Now, Barry didn’t know a lot about the guy she’d been sleeping with, just that he was originally a client at the club that became both professional and personal. He also knew that Rose slept with the guy whenever he came into the city, and that she really liked him.

And she was willing to stop that if he wanted.

“Um. You don’t have to stop your… thing. Just, uh, heads up? And testing. Still not totally sure if we can even get STI’s, but to be safe.” That was going to be an awkward conversation to have with Caitlin. “And if you still want to keep sleeping together, I’d like that.” Barry had had sex before. Mainly with women, but he had given and received blow jobs from men. He wasn’t completely inexperienced, but he also wasn’t nearly as experienced as Rose. Barry also wasn’t as used to talking about sex so frankly, and he was highly aware that his face was beet red.

“Just a forewarning, I don’t know how well condoms are going to hold up if we start fucking at superspeed.” The way she said it was so deadpanned that Barry just started laughing. “I’m serious! You’re the scientist, you should realize these things. There’s no way that latex is going to hold up against superspeed sex.”

Another burst of laughter erupted from them, and Barry closed his eyes, feeling them start to water. After a minute they stopped laughing and Barry looked up at Rose. She had this look in her eyes that he hadn’t seen before.

This time when she leaned in, Barry moved to meet her halfway. The slow press of their lips was like nothing he’d ever felt before. It started sweet, several quick kisses as Rose smiled against his mouth, then she was pulling him towards her and encouraging Barry to straddle her thighs.

Rose ran a hand up the back of his neck, pulling his head back down and tangling her fingers in his hair. She pulled lightly and Barry found himself moaning against her lips. It was then when Rose’s tongue poked out and flicked against his bottom lip. Barry gladly let her take control of the kiss, allowing her to lick into his mouth.

He tried his best to keep up and mirror her movements, running his tongue against hers, but Barry quickly found himself panting into Rose’s mouth.

Rose let him pull back when he needed to breathe, but she kept herself busy by focusing on his throat. Barry had to brace against  the headboard as she licked, sucked, and bit at his neck. Barry breathed heavily between moans as she found a particularly sensitive place under his jaw. She nipped at it rather harshly, then looked up at him though her eyelashes. “Get on your back.”

It took a moment for Barry to process what she said, but when he did, Barry did as he was told and moved off Rose and flipped on his back.

Rose sat up and pulled the shirt Barry had given her off, revealing her bare chest and ink-covered skin. Then she wiggled out of the sweats, pulling her underwear off at the same time.

Barry’s mouth went dry as he saw her completely naked for the first time. She ran a hand through her curls and then crawled over to Barry, pulling at the drawstring on his own pants.

“Want to suck you off, good?”

“So good.” Barry raised his hips so she could pull his pants and briefs down, and watched with bated breath as she tossed the clothes off the bed.

He was achingly hard at this point, dick red and leaking pre. Rose met his eyes and grinned, ducking her head down and licking at his shaft, pointedly ignoring the head. Barry very briefly wondered if she was like this with everyone she slept with, but then she was taking him in her mouth.

At first, she focused on the head of his dick, sucking harshly then pulling off to kitten-lick. She repeated this until Barry’s head fell back onto the pillow and he was moaning unabashedly. He had no idea that he could be so vocal, and would have been concerned about being too loud if not for the fact that every time he made a noise, Rose would double her efforts.

Finally, she took him all the way and lowered herself until she was almost at the base of his dick. Rose held herself there for a few seconds, then pulled up until just the head was in her mouth before sucking him down again. Her mouth was so warm and wet and perfect that Barry was getting lost in the pleasure. He’d had good blow jobs before, but nothing like this. It was like something under his skin wanted to be closer to Rose, something that wanted to be whole.

Barry had long since closed his eyes, but he knew he was close. It might have been the coma in addition to his several month dry-streak, or it could have been the effect of their powers.

Something that was entirely because of their powers was the way Rose’s tongue started vibrating against him. The shock and sheer pleasure that he got from that was enough to make Barry orgasm and finish in Rose’s mouth.

Before he could apologize, Rose was swallowing. She pulled off to lick at his dick, as if savoring the taste. She even licked her lips and then smiled at him.

This woman was going to be the death of him.

“Fuck me,” Barry breathed.

Rose laughed. “I am more than willing to get a strap-on and take you apart.”

Oh, god. The image was in his head the second she finished talking. “That… is something worth discussing. I am so interested.”

Rose pulled herself up next to him and ran her fingers down his stomach. “What else would you be interested in? I figure we find out and I can go out one day this week and get some toys.”

“You’re going to go to a sex shop and get toys for us to use?” It came out more skeptical than he was intending.

“Well, I mean you could always come with me. But I figure if I’m gonna fuck you properly then we need the tools. I’m thinking a plug set, lube, obviously. I’ve seen some fun new strap-ons that don’t need a harness or anything, they go inside the wearer. Some even have vibrators for both parties. And maybe a regular dildo or two.”

Barry just looked at her. He could never talk so plainly about buying sex toys. “How are you so blunt with this stuff?”

Rose snorted like he asked a stupid question. “Because I’ve had enough sex and used enough toys to stop thinking that it’s something that shouldn’t be talked about. You shouldn’t need to be worried about saying exactly what you mean, especially with sex. We need to know what the other means, that means getting used to saying things like dildo, and plug, and cock, and anal.”

Barry was back to blushing, “Okay, okay. I’ll get used to it. Probably.”

“How about we continue this conversation after I blow you again, and you can show me how well you can use your mouth.”

Barry swallowed, nodding. He hadn’t even realized he was hard again. Definitely a perk.

Notes:

Okay. Context!
This takes place nine months after the Particle Accelerator explodes. Barry is comatose. Rose was comatose for 3 days. She knows about her powers, Len doesn't. Leonard and Rose have been sleeping together for about 2 years. She is currently 25. I choose to make Leonard 15 years older than Barry (and Rose) instead of the canonical 19ish years between them, making him 40 (Wentworth doesn't age I thought he was like 30 when I first watched Flash)
