Summary:

after getting hit by a quirk, Izuku finds himself in a particular situation. There's another verison of himself attending UA...

Chapter 1: Introduction + Chapter 1

Chapter Text

It had been nearly over a year since Izuku had been a vigilante, constantly going out on patrol during the night and doing his school work at home. Creating support items with Hatsume and visiting Shinso to help him train so he could go to UA prepared.

He had met Aizawa, and eventually became his secret mentor. At some point, the duo became inseparable. Like a father and a son bonding even though they were complete strangers. Soon even Hizashi was involved with their dynamic. A complete family.

Even if Izuku had his mother alive and well at home, he never felt quite as loved. Like his real family was found once he had became that vigilante that saved people who couldn't help themselves and he met Aizawa and it changed his whole life forever.

So when he went to help Aizawa with a few criminals, he didn't think much of it. He was experienced and skilled at what he did. He wasn't useless, he had his simple quirk but he used it to the extent that made it useful. Telekinesis that was activated when his eyes turned blue and he could manipulate things around him. Just the change in his eyes color made him feel similar to when Aizawa activates his quirk. His Red and Izuku's Blue. Opposites but it feels so familiar.

In a simple and old alleyway, Aizawa was trying to capture a few criminals who stole from a mechanics warehouse. One of them had the supplies in a bag and the other had a crowbar to defend themselves from Aizawa trying to capture them. They seemed quite young and inexperienced. Aizawa could tell.

"Alright drop the crowbar, don't make this harder than it should be. Just turn yourselves in." Aizawa said as he stood in front of the two young criminals who seemed very very nervous. Eraserhead out of everyone had shown up to stop them.

Izuku was on his way, however it would take a few minutes until he would arrive. Aizawa tried to talk down the two criminals but it ended up starting up a pretty pathetic fight between the three of them. Aizawa had dodged a few attacks before capturing the one with the crowbar and tying them up. Izuku had showed up soon enough and gave Aizawa a wave 'hello' before trying to capture the other criminal that had the bag full of stolen supplies.

However while he was capturing the other criminal, they had used their quirk on Izuku. Which immediately made him disappear, and left Aizawa speechless and once he realized what had happened made him cry out Izuku's name.

Chapter 1 "You aren't him"

A hard crash in a different alleyway in which Izuku had landed. He landed inside of a large trash bin, leaving him shocked as to what had happened. His first priority however once he regained his composure was to get out of the smelly trash bin. He landed on the ground and patted himself off, trying to get as much gunk off of him as possible.

He looked around. 'No sign of Aizawa…that persons quirk must've had to do with teleportation..but why didn't they use it to get out without being caught?' Izuku sighed and checked his phone, the time seemed to flicker in and out. It was .. odd, but he continued to dial Aizawa's phone number. Which. After a couple of times, didn't work and it made Izuku give up on it.

'Must be the quirks side affect…how particular.' Izuku thought as he grabbed something from his belt bucket and revealed a small disc. Once he pressed a button, it expanded and it was big enough for Izuku to stand on. He then activated his quirk and used his telekinesis to lift him around and get him to the old alleyway he was just in. A few things seemed…different once he had made his way around the city during the night. Something seemed, unsettling..

After tracking back to the original location and looking around, everyone seemed to have left. Although maybe Aizawa had taken care of the rest and headed back to the police station? With that small thought in mind he went to the station he had grown fond of. While heading to the station he noticed the lack of Aizawa attending inside with his usual coffee break with Tsukauchi talking about his exhausting shift at work. It was just busy and silent with a few criminals being taken in.

However Izuku standing awkwardly at the window of the police station with his black goggles on and his dark green hoodie on seemed pretty sketchy to anyone else passing by. So when he felt so out of place he was spotted by a now exiting the police station Tsukauchi who looked over at him, slightly confused with his coffee cup in his hand.

"O-oh ..um, Hey Tsukauchi do you know if Aizawa passed by here?" Izuku asked as he felt like he was caught off guard.

"Hm? Aizawa? Why exactly are you looking for him? Who are you?" Tsukauchi asked as he narrowed his eyes and lifted his eyebrow in confusion and a little bit curious. He couldn't really recognize who this person in front of him was, but from the looks of it he seemed as young as one of Aizawa's students…the green hair seemed familiar.

"Huh? Tsukauchi, what do you mean? It's me Izuku." Izuku said as he removed his goggles and looked him in the eyes, some confusion on his own face. This made Tsukauchi surprised by who exactly it was.

"Midoriya? What are you doing out here this late?" Tsukauchi asked as he looked him up and down before Midoriya sighed "Why are you so surprised? We've been working together for so long?" To this Tsukauchi shook his head no, but then suspicion filled his mind. Could this be a villain trying to intimidate a student?

Izuku noticed this tension growing and decided to just back away and put his goggles back on before standing on the disc again before flying away, Tsukauchi immediately panicked and called in the rest of the police to follow him. This made both parties involved very anxious and in high alert.

Several red flags popped into Izuku's head as he ran away from the station, why didn't Tsukauchi remember him? What was happening?

He felt the need to visit Aizawa immediately, he knew where his apartment was so he could just drop by to make sure he was okay. Did the criminals quirk affect the people he knew? Gosh this was anxiety inducing. The cold air blowing onto his face as he made his way over to Aizawa's house calmed him down Slightly but not enough for his thoughts to be silenced.

Chapter 2: chapter 2 "This isn't you"

Chapter Text

Izuku eventually arrived in front of Aizawa's doorstep, he put the dice back in his belt buckle and grabbed his spare keys that Aizawa had given him. Unlocking the door was easy enough but once he walked inside it looked like how Aizawa's apartment used to look like when he first came over…there weren't any pictures on the fridge, the dinner table was a mess and most concerning of all Mittens and Dardar seemed to be alarmed once he walked inside. They hissed and ran over to their cat houses.

"Pspsps.. Dardar..Mittens..? C'mon you two what's wrong?" Izuku closed the door behind him as he approached the two cats and holding his hand out for them to sniff him. The continued to hiss and mittens even swatted at him, making him retract his hand. He sighed, he was a little heartbroken since they usually cuddled up to him…

Izuku took off his goggles and put them around his neck and fixed up his hair, he looked at the time. It was around 3:55 am and that meant Aizawa would be here soon. Hopefully he wasn't as clueless to who he was unlike Tsukauchi. He sat down on the couch across from where Mittens and Dardar were laying down in their small houses.

Izuku yawned, it had been a tiring night and he was getting sleepy. He slowly closed his eyes as he drifted off into sleep. He scored quietly as he felt at home again, where he could relax even for a few minutes.

Aizawa stood in front of his doorstep and grabbed his key from his pocket, he looked like a mess and his yellow goggles where on to of his head. His eyes were dry and he was irritated, all he wanted to do was sleep. So once he opened the door and noticed someone inside, he immediately went back into his serious demeanor as he activated his quirk and held his capture weapon so he could be ready for confrontation. No one, knew where he lived except for Hizashi and Nemuri. How did they get inside? The windows weren't broken as far as he could tell..

He looked over at Mittens and Dardar who also seemed irritated with this new person who was sleeping on the couch.

However, once he got a good look of their face…It was Midoriya?? How did he find his house…and what was he wearing? But he kept his quirk activated since he was still suspicious of his student, perhaps someone took up the appearance of his student.

"Midoriya? Wake up." Aizawa said as he wrapped his capture weapon around him, tugging him awake. Izuku was caught off guard but he yawned and looked over at Aizawa with a small smile.

"Oh thank God you recognize me, I went over to the police station and you weren't there after we tried to arrest those criminals. So I came over to check on you." Izuku said as he looked Aizawa in the eyes, even if he couldn't see it on Aizawas normal stoic stern face. Aizawa was immediately confused, he didn't work with Midoriya at all tonight so what was he talking about?

"What? Midoriya, what are you talking about? How did you find my house? You should be in the dorms." Aizawa said as he tightened the grip on his capture weapon.

"Huh? Dorms?" Izuku was once more confused by this, "Aizawa c'mon we were just on patrol an hour ago…unless the quirk I got hit by.." Izuku looked down as he thought of multiple possibilities as to what happened, he was silent. "When did you first meet me?" Izuku asked as his breath was shaky.

"The beginning of the school yeah Midoriya. When else?..unless you're just impersonating my student." Aizawa said as he tugged Izuku to fall on the floor and put his put on his back to hold him down. Izuku groaned in pain, he wasn't expecting this. Where was he? This wasn't the Aizawa he knew.

"Okay okay! Just ask me something personal Izuku would know! There's gotta be some way to prove that I'm well- me!" Izuku said as he moved his face to look at Aizawa.

"...who is your mother?" Aizawa asked, narrowing his eyes, "Inko! And my dad is off in America for like the longest time now which is rather concerning."

Aizawa hummed. The fact that Midoriya wasn't changing back into another form while he canceled his quirk was already a good indicator, and the new answer. "Alright…but what are you doing outside of your dorm room Midoriya? You know how dangerous it could be with you being out here at night." Aizawa let Izuku go, letting Izuku get up.

"I still don't know what you mean by the dorm rooms, but I have an idea of what's going on." Izuku brushed his hair out of his face "I was hit by a quirk and ended up in a different alleyway, I can tell things are different so…maybe their quirk had to do with teleportation and also something with a change in Timeline? Honestly its so werid." Izuku mumbled on as he tried to explain but ended up talking to himself.

Before Aizawa could speak Izuku asked him a question, "What am I to you? Well not me- but other me since you clearly know me." Aizawa rubbed his eyes, he was tired. "You're my student at UA. What about you? How did you even get in my house?" Honestly he didn't fully believe the whole rant Midoriya told him but for now he would go along with it.

"Okay so, you and me met about a year ago while I started out as a vigilante. And I still am. I got to know you a lot more, I won't get into the details now but eventually you started mentoring me. Plus you gave me a spare key." Izuku pulled out the key his Aizawa gave him. "Apparently that still works here..even if I'm not exactly home."

Aizawa grabbed the keys right out of Izuku's hands, and compared it with his own. Identical. He sighed and gave them back to Izuku. "Vigilante huh? That'd be a good reason to get rid of you right now but.." there was some hesitation before he continued "hmph..never mind. I need rest and I can't be half asleep at UA. I don't trust you completely but, stay here. Sleep if you want but don't cause trouble. I'm bringing you into UA tomorrow."

Aizawa then took of his capture weapon and set it on the messy dinner table and headed to his own bed room. Shutting the door behind him and leaving Izuku in the living, a little lost hut he eventually just sat down on the couch again. With lots of thoughts going through his head, he's never been inside of UA and he's met Nedzu only a couple of times where he came from so this would be stressful. But for now, he drifted off into sleep.

Chapter 3: Chapter 3 "But I'm me, not him"

Chapter 3 "But I'm me, not him."

Izuku woke up with some drool down his mouth and he was laying down on his back at this point. He blinked a bit before noticing Mittens and Dardar looking at him as they sat down on the floor, looking up at him in curiosity as their tails flicked back and forth.

"Dardar…pspsps lovely come here.. you too Mittens." Izuku held his hand out again, and this time the cats went up to sniff it before rubbing against his hand and purring softly. Izuku smiled, at least they liked him again.

He didn't notice Aizawa however looking at him from the kitchen which was right across from him, he didn't say a word and just looked on. Aizawa himself was a little curious, was this really just another Midoriya? How'd he end up being a vigilante? Did he have the same quirk? How close were they originally?

Aizawa looked away and poured himself a fresh cup of coffee, then going over to Izuku and looking over at him again. "We'll be leaving in a few minutes, I just have to get a few graded essays from my room." Aizawa then walked back over to his room.

'Of course it would be essays, he usually talks about how badly his students do. Well, except for Kacchan but that's rather obvious.' Izuku thought as mittens and Dardar followed Aizawa to his room, leaving Izuku alone.

To be fair, he had never felt so out of place before. It's almost just like when he first went patrolling as a vigilante, being by himself and not having anyone else to rely on again. But maybe things would get better, Nedzu out of all people know what to do. At least he would hope. Since a few things here must have happened differently than where he came from.

His own thoughts aside, he was caught off guard when Aizawa patted him on the shoulder letting him know that they were leaving. Izuku immediately got up and followed Aizawa to his car, which was his regular small Honda that seemed a little old but still somehow managed to work.

"Get in, I only have a few minutes once we get there to talk with Nedzu before classes start." Aizawa said as he took out his keys and started to turn on the car. Izuku sat in the passenger side of the car, which in retrospect wasn't a great option since it made him feel more awkward than before.

The car ride was rather quiet and somewhat tense. Izuku just looked outside the window and waited for them to arrive. He was getting even more nervous by the second. He was figiting his with his hands to try and calm himself down, but it was all really internal conflict since to Aizawa's perspective. Izuku seemed pretty relaxed.

Once Aizawa parked inside of the teachers lot, he led Izuku inside UA. The front entrance was huge, Izuku had never actually seen UA this up close before since he didn't bother to try and enter the exam to get him in UA. It was sunny outside so it gave Izuku a much more positive look on UA. Aizawa could see his excitement as the walked inside, he didn't mind it.

"You teach 1-a right? I just want to make sure it's the same since you know, all the time stuff going on." Izuku asked as he looked over at Aizawa, "Yes, that's my class. You attend it as well…" Aizawa paused before continuing "..Do you have the same quirk? Like super strength?"

'So I have enhanced abilities here…how strange..I must've not gotten telekinesis like mom then..' Izuku thought but remembered he needed to reply "O-oh um, no I have telekinesis..a little better than my mom's but it works kind of the same." Izuku awkwardly chuckled as he then activated his quirk and made his own goggles float around him as they walked. Izuku's eyes changed color into light baby blue as he did this.

"Kinda simple but you helped me control it better." Izuku huffed ss he deactivated his quirk again and put his goggles around his neck. "Hmm, interesting…" Aizawa mumbled as they arrived to principal Nedzu's office, he lightly knocked on the door and headed inside with Izuku.

Once they shut the door, Nedzu spun around towards the two in a happy demeanor. "Oh how glad I am to behold this moment! This is quite the most interesting predicament you've found yourself in Midoriya."

"Hahaha..as enthusiastic as usual Nedzu.." Izuku chuckled slightly as he sat down in a chair in front of him. Aizawa stood idle next to them.

"Of course Midoriya! You've caused quite a ruckus last night with detective Tsukauchi, oh boy did he call me constantly. The dorms were checked inside and out, poor Midoriya had to be checked as well." Nedzu said as he put a few of the reports on the table for Izuku to look over, which he did.

"Oh dear..I'm sorry I just-" before he could speak further Nedzu hushed him by putting his small paw up in front of Izuku to make him stop talking. "Don't worry, honestly it was quite amusing, especially after Aizawa called me about you. I've got a little offer for you Midoriya." Nedzu said as Aizawa then lifted his eyebrow in confusion, what did this rat mean?

"I'll offer you your own dorm room, lessons and most importantly. A spot in class 1-a." Nedzu then pulled out multiple sheets of paper, mostly contracts.

Both Aizawa and Izuku were shocked, Aizawa immediately went over the Nedzu "What the hell are you doing? We should be helping him get back to his own- timeline- or something not this??" He seemed quite irritated.

"Well, yes of course. But he doesn't seem to have anywhere to stay, unless you want him to stay in your home for the rest of the time while we figure the rest out. Hmm? How about that?" Nedzu still kept up his cheery smile, although it seemed a little sarcastic. It worked and Aizawa backed off and sighed, Izuku still couldn't comprehend what was happening unfortunately. So when he was handed the pen and multiple contracts he needed to sign, it was a lot for him.

"Waitwaitwait- hold up- you can't be serious? You believe my crazy story of how I ended up here and your just so eager to let me in? I mean just be the sound of it, you guys seem to be in enough danger already!" Izuku said as he gestured to everything with his hands and arms.

"Hohoho, bold of you to assume that I didn't take the necessary precautions Midoriya. I mean, it can't be anyone else. You aren't Toga since you don't transform back, you have the same mannerisms as our Midoriya and…well I won't tell you everything but I can just tell you're the real deal. A Alternate version of Midoriya." Nedzu rubbed his chin as he explained. Izuku felt himself shrinking, why did he underestimate the smartest person he knew so little about?

By the end of the meeting, Izuku had agreed to the terms and ended up being taken to Class 1-a. The walk was awkward, not to mention he was still in his vigilante costume since yesterday. He hoped someone had clothes to spare..

Chapter 4 "Homesick."

Walking inside the class was nerve wracking, everyone turned towards the open door.

Instantly noticing the second Izuku next to Aizawa, eyes widened and gasps heard around the class. Some turned back to the shocked Izuku in his seat. Before anyone could say anything about this Aizawa held his hand up to stop them "Before you cry out nonsense, This is not someone impersonating Midoriya. A quirk incident made him appear last night." Aizawa walked over to the podium as he said this "Mind giving us a nickname to call you? You'll be staying here for a while." Aizawa turned towards the Izuku who was standing awkwardly in front of the class in his vigilante costume, which made him stand out more.

"U-um.. call me Koko, if you don't mind..um-" Izuku looked around at the class noticing Kacchan sitting in the back of the class with the real Izuku behind him, both of them bewildered in their own ways. "Umm..where should I sit-? Or should I just sit on the floor..?" He asked, but then Aizawa pulled a chair out of seemingly nowhere and put it near the front of the class next to him.

'Oh how wonderful, a front seat for everyone to look at me like an anomaly..' Izuku thought as he sat in the chair, and from there class started to pick up again as if nothing happened. As if there weren't two of the same person in class. It all just seemed way too..convenient for Izuku.

At some point he ended up at lunch, sitting inside of Nedzu's office once again. He was just given an average bento box with food. He was just eating it in silence as Nedzu did his work and Aizawa was nowhere to be found. It felt suffocating.

Izuku just wanted to be back home, at this time he would just be sitting on his couch while he did his online classes. It saddened him.

He was homesick. Even if he just got here last night, it feels like his whole world had disappeared for years. He couldn't even understand Aizawa, this wasn't the one he's been going home with after a rough night of fighting villains and chatting with for over a year now. His family, everything he worked hard for. Was just.

Gone.

A simple quirk robbed him of his perfect life, he hated it.

"...Midoriya? Midoriya?" Without realizing it he had blocked out Nedzu's voice, he looked up in surprise and slight embarrassment.

"Oh- sorry! I was lost in thought! Sorry! What did you need?" Izuku put his bento box in his lap to put his full attention on Nedzu. Nedzu sighed, he didn't seem too bothered.

"It wasn't anything important, I was just asking if you were alright. You seem quite unhappy." Nedzu asked him as he tilted his head in curiosity and concern.

Izuku sighed, he picked at his food with his chopsticks, he looked down at the floor. "I'm just thinking about…It's not important. Enough about that, have you guys found out a way to get me home? If not, I might have a few ideas."

Truth is, he would be glad to talk about his feelings with Nedzu. Well, the Nedzu he knew. Something about this place seemed colder, like everything seemed a lot less…free to do what you wanted. Like something always had to be in the way.

"Ah, well if you're alright. But I did manage to find a certain way…do you perhaps know who Hatsume is?"

"Oh Mei? Where I'm from she actually helped me a lot with my support items. Haha, we're great friends." He smiled as he touched his goggles, Hatsume had made them for him. But he remembered "Oh but I guess she doesn't really know me…what are you planning to do exactly?"

"Well…I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise! Just head to the support course classroom once your done with lunch here's a map." Nedzu handed him the map,he grabbed it and sat back down. Looking at it as he finished the rest of his lunch. Izuku couldn't help but feel confused. Granted, he was told so little about his situation.

There was definitely something Nedzu wasn't telling him.

Crashes and booms were coming from the entrance door into the support course classroom. From just the Boise alone he knew it was Hatsume, he walked inside and just followed the loud noises as he walked passed the other students and power loader.

Izuku saw some smoke coming from a certain someone's desk. Izuku walked up, and once the smoke cleared a bit. There she was. The one and only Hatsume, the genius inventor herself.

"Ohhh? What are you doing here green boy? Need some support items? Did you break what I made'ya last?" Hatsume quickly went over to him, taking some measurements and looking over his vigilante costume. "Whats with the new outfit? Got new taste of something? It's rather basic?"

Izuku chuckled, this was finally something similar he could deal with. "Just coming by, Principal Nedzu's orders." Izuku smiled. It took a moment for Hatsume to understand, but as soon as she did she gave him a devious smile.

"Hohooo…well then, I guess we should get started then…hmm, give me your goggles. I'll need them for your way back home! I betcha I did something super cool with those goggles. I definitely made those." She held her hand out for him to hand his goggles over.

Without hesitation, Izuku handed them over and continued to smile. "So, what's the big plan?"

"Oohh, First the blue prints then I'll need to use your goggles as a catalyst as a way to get you back. I'm going to make a portal to the multiverse real! Just watch me!" Hatsume quickly sweeped everything off her table in favor for the goggles and she quickly started working on the blue prints.

'Oh? Um…should I help with something? Mei usually let's me help…would she?' Before Izuku could even speak he was then shooed away because of her, he was then back outside the hall. Alone and all the comfort he got was taken away. His goggles for crying out loud were gone and he couldn't even get them back if he wanted to.

     Why was everyone so…selfish?

He huffed in frustration, he got out his disc that he then used to lift him around the halls with his quirk. He didn't want to deal with whatever he was feeling right now, he'd just perfer to be somewhere alone again.

He swooped through the halls and avoided students while on his way back to Nedzu's office, although he didn't notice the werid looks everyone gave him. Especially, and most importantly.

Aizawa. Who quickly deactivated his quirk, which made Izuku then fall onto the floor and land on his face. His disc even clanged onto the floor loudly, making the situation even more embarrassing.

Izuku could only wish for HIS Aizawa to come and hug him.

Chapter Text

        Back in Izuku's Universe…

Aizawa was inside the police station, pacing back and forth as he tried calling Izuku serial times. He was worried now, he couldn't call or track him. What happened to him? What quirk makes someone disappear as if they just don't exist anymore? He had already captured the criminals who they were trying to arrest. The person who used his quirk on Izuku doesn't seem to know either.

There were hundreds of thoughts running through his mind. He was a wreck right now. Tsukauchi could see it clearly.

"Aizawa, don't worry, I'm sure the kid's safe. He's not helpless on his own." Tsukauchi put his hand on his shoulder, attempting to reassure Aizawa.

Aizawa looked back at him, worried still in his eyes but he put his phone back in his pocket and sighed. "You're right, wherever he is, he has experience…we just need to find him." Aizawa brushed his hair out of his face and looked at Tsukauchi.

"I need to go, I'll try and ask Hatsume if she had a tracker on his goggles. God knows she always does after the Hiren incident." Aizawa waved him goodbye as he started to walk out of the police station and towards Hatsume's warehouse, most of the time she was always there. Even during ungodly hours in the night, which he had already reprimanded her for.

The warehouse wasn’t anything too special, just a few painted walls that Izuku and Mei had done together once she managed to get her hands on the place. Aizawa remembered when the warehouse had just been some abandoned place they had managed to stumble upon halfway through the year, and somehow Mei had managed to find it and the scrap metal inside, who didn’t hesitate to make it her own.

Aizawa opened the dock door, sliding it open as he noticed that the lights were on, a good sign during this hour of crisis. Though he wasn’t exactly expecting Hitoshi to be there either, chatting with Mei while they ate some pizza together.

“Yo! How was patrol old man?” Mei called out, noticing him from the corner of her eye, Hitoshi waving at him while chewing the slice of pizza. Though they could notice his unease even from afar.

“Not good, Izuku got hit by a quirk and now we can’t find him. Mei, you have a tracker on him don’t you? Could you see where he is?” This had Mei and Hitoshi immediately on their feet, heading over to her computer set up to track down Izuku.

“What time did he disappear?”  Mei was almost never completely serious and stern, but when it came to danger like this, she knew that she shouldn’t dilly dally. The other two noticed too.

“Around 3:50 am, can you find anything?” Aizawa told her, who seemed to scrunch up her nose as she looked through the designated time on the tracker.

“It's all fuzzy, the coordinates aren’t..hmm..” Mei typed a few things before pulling up coordinates, pointing her finger which led to..Aizawa’s home?

“But that’s not possible? Hizashi would’ve told me by now if he was back home, and I called him a while ago. No one else is home.” Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose, more frustrated with the impossible results.

“Ah-ah-ah, he is there…just not in this exact version of it. I actually reverted to code from what it was originally, into what we’re familiar with.” Mei smiled, “Oh boy, it seems like Izuku’s managed to get himself involved with the multiverse! And looks like Mei-the-genius is gonna have to figure out the secret to it!” Mei stood up from her computer set up, diving headfirst into the pile of scraps she had stowed away.

“...You okay sensei?” Hitoshi asked, while Mei was away planning how to build a portal.

“..Yeah, Yeah I’m okay kid. Sorry, I’m just worried.”

“I am too, Izuku was never one to be by himself for too long. Especially since he’s uh…not exactly in the same universe-?” Hitoshi rubbed the back of his neck, “Either way, I’m sure he’ll pull through.”

“I hope so, or else all that mentoring was for nothing.” Aizawa sighed, rubbing his eyes. “You should be heading back home kid, you still have school tomorrow.”

“What about Mei?”

“I doubt anything I say will change her mind to head back home, not after what she discovered.”

“Right…”

“Mhm, now go home and get some shut eye. I’ll see you tomorrow in class, and I better not see you yawning in the morning.” Aizawa said as he turned his back and headed out, making sure to head back to the police station to inform Tsukauchi of the new information before he headed home for the night.

Back to the current time in UA…

Izuku had managed to get a bloody nose from falling face first into the floor, unsurprisingly, but what he wasn’t expecting was to get reprimanded by Aizawa.

“You can’t use your quirk in school, kid, and by doing so you’ve made much more confusion in this school. You may have telekinesis but Midoriya doesn’t, you're gonna make the rest of the school think he’s managed to get another quirk.” Aizawa seemed annoyed, more akin to when he had first met him during patrol. Less warm, and ten times colder than usual.

“I was only using it to get back to Nedzu’s office, plus it’s not like it's already sticking out like a sore thumb with my vigilante costume still on. Seriously, if you wanted me to blend in more then you should've had me wear another hero course uniform.” Izuku huffed, keeping the pressure on his nose to stop any bleeding while Recovery girl was returning from her lunch break.

“Still, you should still have some common sense up there problem child.” Aizawa shook  his head, “Just be glad I can’t actually give you detention.”

..oh look at me- I'm Eraserhead- mehmehmeh–” Izuku mocked under his breath before he found himself being tied up with Aizawa’s capture weapon, who did not seem to appreciate it very much.

Notes:

Holy cow it's been at least two years since I've updated this fic, and it was just because I was really really bored and sleep deprived.
don't know when I'll update this next so don't get your hopes up too high, since I'm also now in college. :\

Chapter 6: "Common ground...?"

Notes:

a lot of yapping, also whenever I refer to "Izuku" its the vigilante one, "Midoriya" is the normal version.

Chapter Text

The rest of the day went by without much issue since Izuku had stayed in the teachers lounge or Nedzu’s office, that is until it was time for bed. That’s what Izuku dreaded, the whole deal about staying in the dorms with the rest of the class. Who up to now, he’d avoided as much as possible. Especially Katsuki.

Izuku was dragged along with Aizawa, who seemed a little less annoyed at him from their interaction earlier. Though it still felt off, truly this man was more of a stranger with how differently he acted towards him.

“You’ll be staying next to Bakugo on the fourth floor, there's a small bed set up with blankets and some clothes we managed to get you for tonight.” Aizawa turned around, stopping in front of the common room door, “and no going out at night, am I clear?”

Izuku gulped, “Yes sir.” before Aizawa opened the door behind him and let Izuku inside, following behind him. While some of the other students paused what they were doing and made their way around him and Aizawa.

“Listen up, Koko here is going to be staying in the dorms as well. I ask you all to show him around and let him know where he’ll stay for now.” Aizawa spoke up, making sure everyone listened before turning and leaving, leaving Izuku to the wolves.

Before he could overthink what he should say, he was brought to the attention of…his other self who made his way over. Almost the same look, though Izuku was much more on the lean side than the other.

“...I have so many questions, but um, can I ask you what your quirk is?” Midoriya asked, pulling out his notebook from out of nowhere, a habit that Izuku shared as well. The others seemed to chuckle at the question, ‘ It must happen frequently then?’ he thought before he realized that he hadn’t answered yet.

“O-Oh right! Um, well I have telekinesis, kind of like mom does. Just a stronger version of it?” Izuku scratched the back of his head, was this what it was like on the receiving end of his questions? He thought as he saw the other scribble down notes, and he could also see a small drawing next to the information.

“What about applying to UA? Did you do it?” Midoriya asked, rambling on about the differences and possibilities since Izuku had a quirk that was way different than the other. Muttering and muttering before he was slapped on the back to stop from continuing, from… Bakugo.

Oh boy…’

“Well uh, I didn’t apply, I’m actually a Vigilante..” Izuku wasn’t sure if that was the right call but it was better to get it out of the way now than never.

That made everyone around him tense.

“A Vigilante? But you could’ve been accepted into UA with your quirk.” Midoriya said as he looked…dissapointed? Izuku couldn’t really tell, why would he be disappointed?

“Because the system’s not exactly perfect, and I’m working with the police. I’m practically certified already.” Izuku crossed his arms, raising a brow while looking back at Midoriya. “I work with Aizawa most patrols.”

“No way– really??”  The yellow-haired kid with a black thunderbolt in his hair exclaimed, “No way..is this version of Midoriya a rebel?” he continued before he was stuck on the side by a purple-haired girl before she hushed him.

Izuku felt uncomfortable, he just wanted to get to his room at this point. So while some of the others discussed in awe of the new information, he slipped away, using his telekinesis to float away out of their eye shot. Leaving him alone as he walked up the stairs.

But he knew one person would notice his absence quicker than the others, Katsuki. Who followed behind him but never spoke until Izuku reached the stairs, making him freeze.

“Oi.”

“What do you want?” Izuku turned around, hands clenched, yet still shaky.

“...Why aren’t you a hero, huh? It’s not like anything was holding you back.” Bakugo seemed a little shaken.

“The system. I guess, I mean there's way more than that but…” Izuku sighed, “I mean I doubt you guys haven’t witnessed any horrors during your time in UA, right? I mean you have to have noticed how…Naive this all is.”

Naive? that seemed to piss this guy off..

“No disrespect but all UA is doing is training child soldiers or stuck up assholes.” Izuku rubbed his chin, “But I know not everyone turns out that way.. I mean Hitoshi’s in UA..and Mei..you..” he shook his head,

“Whatever! What I mean is that I want to help people now, I don’t want to wait to go through a school’s version of the military while I know I could just go out and do it.” Izuku cleared his throat,

“If you want to save people, what's stopping you? I sure as hell didn’t.”

The whole answer confused Bakugo, and Izuku had a feeling it would confuse the rest of the class too. They were still figuring out how the world wasn’t all black and white, that there were grays between what made a hero and villain..and most importantly, a human.

“You're so weird.” Bakugo scoffed, turning around back towards the common area.

“Be so for real bro.” Izuku rolled his eyes, “Whatever, nighty night twin.” He turned back towards the stairs and headed up to the fourth floor. Hoping to take a shower and head to bed.

Meanwhile in the common room…

“The vigilante version of you’s a weirdo.” Bakugo told Midoriya, appearing from behind him while Midoriya had been talking with Uraraka and Iida, spooking all three of them in the process.

“What makes you say that?” Midoriya raised an eyebrow

“Aren’t you good at rambling? Ask that lunatic.” Bakugo said before walking away towards the kitchen, where a few others were.

Leaving the three by themselves, pondering what Bakugo had said, and more importantly…striking Midoriya's interest to learn more.
