Chapter 1: I really hope it’s nothing

Notes:

the amount of mistakes I have made…

Chapter Text

Soon after, you found out that Mr. Ma was an evil spirit. Even though Ms. Chu, Ha-na, Mo-tak, Jeok-bong, Mr. Choi and Mun and the night sky told you that this was not the right choice, you found yourself running around Jungjin, finding for the evil spirits that may have triggered him. You did not want to sit down, waiting for them to strike or step on a territory (which they can see). You’ve simply had enough. Those sinful hands should take no more lives.

You continued running, exhaustion not catching up with you. You managed to bring your phone with you and it was in the pocket in your pants. Guessing, you thought that you must have been running for an hour. That did not tire you down. You wanted revenge because they might have been the trigger to Mr. Ma’s evil spirit. You did not know why. You were just furious, with your clenched fists, gritted teeth and a feeling of a red mist coming over you.

Despite you not being the strongest member, you still felt like you were weak. With the powers and superstrength you have, you still felt all that. You had the power called ‘Energy Conversion’, which was just changing energy from one form to another i.e light into heat, sound into kinetic. The other counters considered that a handy ability, but you did not feel that. The reason was: it depended on your emotions. Your power was weakened by curiosity, hysteria, despair and anger. You continued running.

I’m a total fucking dumbass for not being there when Mr. Ma was sad, you thought constantly. It was not your fault he was not like that. Why didn’t you think that? But that was not the main point here. Maybe it was. You didn't remember. You were going to get revenge even if it is not what you imagined.

You stopped running after you sensed a familiar presence. An evil spirit, you believed. You walked forward, examining your surroundings.

I hope someone isn’t dead.

You gulped, walking and still sensing the evil spirit. You spotted blonde hair approaching you from the corner of your eye, dodging.

WHAT THE—

You looked around and started being more cautious. It’s Gelly! You got cut in the face. You yelled in pain.

Shoot.

Where is it?!

You looked around some more. It was hard to spot. You felt like a blind man.

What should I do??

The wind started blowing, making a noise similar to a howling. It sounded like the howl of a ghost. Then… it became quiet. You saw something dashing towards you.

Holy fuck!

Your heart thumped. You felt dizzy. There was no time to think. You dodged. And then, the wind blew again and you felt a cold breeze. You grabbed the blondie's wrist, stopping her in her tracks.

"Oh, so you were the one Wong almost killed," she mused. She swung her other arm at you and you ducked. She threw a punch with an iron grip and you felt pain in both arms. You held her tight, avoiding her attacks. "So you've gotten stronger, huh?"

"Shut up."

You clenched her wrist harder, throwing her down to the ground. Then, you threw a kick, kicking her away. She got up slowly, looking at you irritatedly.
She got up and rushed at you again, screaming in rage. You blocked the attack and threw a punch at her face before jumping back to avoid the incoming punches.  She ran to where you were once stood, punching you in the gut multiple times. She got up and tried to hit you again and your instincts kicked in. You jumped, flipping your leg and sending a flying knee to her stomach.
Her breath left her in a big puff of air. She stumbled, falling onto her knees.

"You bitch.." she snarled, running towards you. Her punches were fast, strong and relentless. You could only keep blocking them. They would hit too many times for your heart to keep beating anymore.

And she kept hitting.

Quickly, you grabbed her fist and threw her to the ground once again. You then got on top of her, punching her in the face multiple times.  You did this until she lost consciousness. Once you felt satisfied, you stood up, letting her be. You felt tired, but satisfied.

She deserves it.

You placed your right hand on her chest, about to summon the evil spirit out of her. Then, you felt yourself tensing up, your arm lifting off her chest stiffly. As you tried to extract the evil spirit from Gelly, you felt an unexpected resistance. It was as if an invisible force was preventing you from completing the task.

You strained to put your hand back to her chest, grunting and sweating. It was like some kind of telekenictic force stopping you from doing so. A realisation dropped on your mind-person.

It was Mr. Hwang.

You instantly panicked, even though you were searching for them.

The realization hit you like a ton of bricks. Mr. Hwang, the enigmatic and powerful evil spirit that Mun almost killed, had appeared before you. It was not the presence of Gelly that had been causing the resistance; it was Mr. Hwang's formidable abilities at play.

You could feel the intensity of Mr. Hwang's malevolent aura as he exerted his control over the situation. It was a force that left you trembling, even as you attempted to break free from his unseen grip. You strained, your energy conversion powers proving futile against this powerful adversary.

In a desperate attempt to free yourself, you focused your energy conversion power inward, attempting to turn your own energy into a counterforce. Beads of sweat formed on your forehead as you struggled against the oppressive force keeping you from extracting the evil spirit. But Mr. Hwang's control remained unyielding.

Mr. Hwang, his presence remaining shrouded in mystery, didn't respond. Instead, he continued to exert his dominance over the situation. You could sense his intentions were far from benevolent, and the urgency of the situation weighed heavily on you.

As the seconds ticked by, you knew you had to make a decision, and it had to be quick. Your energy conversion power might be weakened by your emotions, but your determination burned brighter than ever. You drew upon every ounce of strength and willpower you possessed, channeling it into one final attempt to break free from Mr. Hwang's control.

With a primal scream, you summoned every last bit of energy and emotion within you and pushed against the invisible force. For a moment, it felt as if the world around you quivered, and then, with an explosive burst, you managed to break free.

Gasping for breath, you clambered back to your feet, your body aching from the struggle. Mr. Hwang loomed before you, his malevolent presence undiminished. But you were no longer under his control.

The battle between you and this enigmatic evil spirit had just begun, and you were determined to uncover the truth behind his actions and protect those you cared about from his sinister intentions.

”Oh, you’re pretty strong.”

You wanted to punch the smirk off his face, enraged. You dashed at him, about to strike him in the solar plexus. The strike did not reach him. He had used his abilites again, walking closer to you. You tried to break free again but you just couldn’t. Your heart was throbbing in your chest, perspiration dotting your forehead and goosebumps appearing around your body.

Mr. Hwang's mocking words echoed in your ears, fueling your determination to break free from his grasp. Your muscles tensed, and you focused all your energy on one final, desperate attempt to break his control.

With sheer force of will, you managed to push against the invisible barrier, inching closer to Mr. Hwang. It felt like trying to swim against a powerful current, but you refused to give in. Beads of sweat rolled down your face as you strained against his power, your teeth clenched in determination.

As you neared Mr. Hwang, you mustered the last reserves of your strength and unleashed a powerful strike, aiming for his solar plexus. But once again, he defied your expectations. In a flash, he used his supernatural abilities to close the distance between you, avoiding your attack effortlessly.

Frustration and anger welled up inside you as you realized the extent of Mr. Hwang's power. It was unlike anything you had encountered before. The fight had turned into a deadly game of cat and mouse, and you were the mouse trapped in his claws.

You struggled against his control, your heart pounding in your chest, and your body trembling with exertion. Every ounce of your being was dedicated to breaking free and confronting this malevolent force that threatened not only your life but the lives of those you cared about.

The wind howled around you, as if the very elements were bearing witness to this supernatural showdown. But despite the odds stacked against you, you were determined to stand your ground, to protect your friends, and to have revenge for the Chinese Counters.

You noticed that he was standing very close to you, so you took the opportunity to break his nose and punching him in the stomach. He dodged it. You continued trying to attack him but he kept on dodging. Were you that predictable?

Then, he raised his hand. You were raised up in the air.

Suspended in mid-air, you struggled against Mr. Hwang's telekinetic grip. Your limbs flailed as you tried to break free, but his control over you was absolute. The eerie calmness in his expression only served to infuriate you further. It was as if he was toying with you, relishing in your helplessness.

Desperation and frustration surged through you, but you refused to give in. You couldn't afford to. With a surge of determination, you channeled the last of your energy conversion power. You focused on converting the surrounding air into a powerful burst of kinetic energy, a shockwave that would hopefully disrupt Mr. Hwang's control over you.

The sudden release of energy caused a violent disturbance in the air, creating a shockwave that rippled outwards from your position. The force of it caught Mr. Hwang off guard, causing him to momentarily lose his concentration. You felt yourself dropping, and with a swift, acrobatic twist in mid-air, you managed to land on your feet.

Pain coursed through your body from the impact, but you pushed through it, unwilling to let Mr. Hwang regain his advantage. Without wasting a moment, you launched yourself at him, throwing a barrage of punches and kicks in a relentless assault. Each strike was fueled by your anger, your determination, and the overwhelming need to protect those you cared about.

But Mr. Hwang was no ordinary adversary. He deftly evaded your attacks, his movements fluid and precise. It was clear that he had faced formidable opponents before, and he was well-prepared for your assault.

Despite your best efforts, you couldn't land a single blow on him. His supernatural abilities allowed him to effortlessly dodge and counter your attacks, leaving you frustrated and exhausted. The battle had turned into a brutal dance, with you as the desperate, relentless dancer.

As you continued to clash with Mr. Hwang, you couldn't help but wonder what drove him to this point. What were his true intentions, and why had he become an evil spirit? These questions swirled in your mind as you fought, and you knew that unraveling getting the evil spirit out of Mr. Hwang was the key to putting an end to this deadly confrontation.

You noticed him coming closer to you, grabbing your hand and throwing you down to the ground. He crouched down, looking at you and smiling.

“Your power must have limits,” he said as he grinned.

Gasping for breath and battered from the fall, you stared up at Mr. Hwang with a mixture of defiance and exhaustion. He was right; your power had limits, and you had pushed them to the brink in your desperate attempts to break free and protect those you cared about.

Despite the pain and fatigue, your determination remained unshaken. You couldn't allow Mr. Hwang to continue his malevolent rampage unchecked. With every ounce of strength you could muster, you forced yourself back onto your feet, wincing at the pain shooting through your body.

"Maybe my power has limits," you admitted, your voice trembling with fatigue, "but so does yours."

As you spoke, you summoned the remnants of your energy conversion ability, focusing on the ambient energy around you. This time, however, you didn't attempt to attack Mr. Hwang directly. Instead, you aimed to create a blinding burst of light, hoping to disorient him.

With a fierce determination, you channeled the gathered energy into a dazzling flash of light, aimed directly at Mr. Hwang's eyes. The sudden brightness temporarily blinded him, causing him to recoil and shield his eyes with his arm. It was your chance.

Seizing the opportunity, you lunged forward, delivering a powerful kick to Mr. Hwang's midsection. The force of the blow sent him staggering backward, finally breaking his hold over you.

Gasping for air, you backed away from Mr. Hwang, your body aching and battered, but your spirit unbroken. This fight had taken everything out of you, but you refused to give up. Mr. Hwang, recovering from the blinding light, glared at you with newfound intensity. It was clear that he wouldn't be underestimating you any longer.

As you stood there, ready to face whatever came next, you couldn't help but wonder about the other members of your group. Were they safe? Had they encountered their own challenges and adversaries in their quest to stop the evil spirits?

With every ounce of determination and courage you possessed, you prepared for the next phase of the battle, ready to confront Mr. Hwang and uncover the secrets behind his malevolent actions. You didn’t expect to see him coughing out blood.

The sight of Mr. Hwang coughing up blood took you by surprise. It was a momentary crack in his composed facade, and it left you wondering about the true extent of his injuries and vulnerabilities. But you couldn't afford to hesitate. You seized the opportunity, pressing your advantage.

Ignoring the pain and exhaustion that wracked your body, you launched yourself at Mr. Hwang once more. Your fists rained down on him, fueled by a renewed determination to defeat this enigmatic evil spirit. Each punch landed with a satisfying thud, and you could see the shock and pain in Mr. Hwang's eyes.

With a final, powerful blow, you sent him sprawling to the ground. He groaned in pain, clutching his side where you had struck him. It seemed that his earlier taunts had been nothing more than bluster, and he was not as invincible as he had appeared.

Breathing heavily and covered in sweat, you stood over Mr. Hwang, your heart pounding with a mixture of triumph and relief. This was your chance to extract the evil spirit from him and put an end to his reign of terror in Jungjin.

Summoning all your strength, you reached out with your power, your hand hovering over Mr. Hwang's chest. But just as you were about to begin the process of extraction, you felt a sudden, powerful force pushing you away.

It was as if an invisible wall had sprung up between you and Mr. Hwang, preventing you from getting any closer. Panic surged through you as you realized that this was the work of Mr. Hwang's abilities once again. He was far from defeated.

Mr. Hwang, still on the ground and visibly injured, looked up at you with a malevolent grin. "You're persistent, I'll give you that," he said, his voice laced with dark amusement. "But you won't be getting rid of me so easily, Counter." He dusted dust off his black suit.

You scrambled backward, putting some distance between yourself and Mr. Hwang. Your mind raced, searching for a way to overcome his formidable powers and finally extract the evil spirit from him.

But time was running out, and Mr. Hwang was slowly getting back to his feet, his malevolent aura intensifying. You noticed yourself floating again, getting thrown around, your back hitting walls a lot of times. The pain was unbreable and felt that your spine was about to shatter.

“You’re a bit weak, hm?” He snickered.

Despite the excruciating pain and the relentless assault by Mr. Hwang's telekinetic powers, you refused to give in. Your body might have been battered and broken, but your spirit remained unbroken. With every ounce of determination you could muster, you attempted to regain control over your body.

Drawing upon your energy conversion power, you focused on converting the energy around you into a counterforce, attempting to counteract Mr. Hwang's telekinetic grip. Dots of sweat formed on your forehead as you strained against the oppressive force, your teeth clenched in agony.

But it wasn’t strong enough.

You could feel the immense pressure of Mr. Hwang's telekinetic grip bearing down on you, overwhelming your efforts to counteract it. The pain in your body intensified with each passing moment, and it felt like your bones were on the verge of breaking.

Desperation welled up inside you as you realized the futility of your struggle. Mr. Hwang's powers were simply too formidable, and you were running out of options. But giving up was not an option.

Summoning the last vestiges of your strength, you concentrated on a different approach. Instead of trying to break free directly, you focused on weakening Mr. Hwang's concentration. You directed your energy conversion power toward him, attempting to disrupt the flow of his abilities.

A burst of kinetic energy shot out from you, striking Mr. Hwang with a powerful force. It was enough to stagger him, his hold over you momentarily broken. Seizing the opportunity, you dropped to the ground and rolled away, putting some distance between yourself and your formidable adversary.

Gasping for breath and wracked with pain, you struggled to your feet. The battle had taken a heavy toll on your body, and you could feel the extent of your injuries. But you couldn't afford to stop now.

Mr. Hwang, recovering from the disruption to his powers, fixed you with a cold, calculating stare. His malevolent aura remained undiminished, and it was clear that he was not going to let you escape easily.

As you faced off against Mr. Hwang once more, you knew that this battle was far from over.

”You know, you’re really fun,” he chuckled. “And you’ve got a lot of stamina too.” He used his psychokenisis to pull you closer to him.

You were terrified.

”You should have a small breather,” he sighed.

You blacked out.

Chapter Text

“Oh, she’s finally awake,” a raspy voice said. You slowly blinked, gaining consciousness. You noticed that your hands were tied; you were sitting up but not your legs— which was weird— and you caught sight of Gelly (Mr. Hwang’s sidekick) sitting next to you. She flicked your forehead teasingly as you were examining your surroundings, seeing that you were in a luxurious apartment or hotel with bright lights.

Confused and disoriented, you glanced around the luxurious apartment, trying to make sense of your surroundings. The bright lights and opulent furnishings stood in stark contrast to the intense battle you had just been engaged in with Mr. Hwang. It was disorienting to find yourself in such a different setting. You noticed that you could see the whole of Jungjin. Maybe you were in the tallest hotel in Jungjin, you guessed.

Gelly's presence next to you only added to your confusion. She had been your adversary moments ago, and now she appeared to be in a much friendlier mood. Her teasing flick to your forehead left you feeling both wary and uncertain.

"What's going on?" you managed to croak, your voice hoarse from the ordeal you had endured. "Where's Mr. Hwang?"

Gelly chuckled, a twisted grin on her face. "Oh, don't you worry, dear. Mr. Hwang will be back soon. But for now, he thought you could use a little break."

A chill ran down your spine as you realized that you were effectively a captive in Mr. Hwang's lair. The realization sharpened your senses, and you took stock of your situation. Your hands were securely tied, leaving you with limited mobility. However, your legs were free, which might give you an advantage if you could find a way to escape.

She leaned back, keeping a cautious distance from you.

You knew that gaining Gelly's trust would be a challenge, but you couldn't afford to give up. You had to find a way out of this situation and continue your mission to stop Mr. Hwang. You racked your head for ways to escape, trying to use your Energy Conversion to turn the light energy to heat to distract Gelly. Unfortunately, she got up to turn down the thermostat which lowered the effectiveness of her power.

“Don’t do that again or I’ll beat you up.”

You stopped, seeing that it wasn’t effective. For some reason, the only part of your Energy Conversion that you could do was convert light energy to heat energy. You didn’t know why.

Feeling the limitations of your power only added to the growing sense of frustration and helplessness. Gelly's warning made it clear that any attempts to use your abilities would be met with harsh consequences. You needed to be cautious and find another way out of this situation.

As you contemplated your options, you couldn't help but wonder where your fellow Counters were. Were they aware of your predicament? Did they know you were in Mr. Hwang's clutches? The thought of them facing their own challenges and dangers weighed heavily on your mind.

Gelly watched you with a mixture of amusement and curiosity, as if she were studying a particularly intriguing specimen. "You know," she mused, "Mr. Hwang seems to have taken quite an interest in you. He thinks you have potential."

Her words sent a shiver down your spine. The idea of being of interest to Mr. Hwang was not something you relished. It only reinforced the urgency of finding a way to escape and rejoin your fellow Counters in the fight against the evil spirits.

"What does Mr. Hwang want with me?" you asked cautiously, trying to keep her talking and gather information. If you were going to escape, you needed to know as much as possible about your captors and their intentions.

Gelly leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Mr. Hwang has his own plans, and he believes you could be a valuable asset. But don't think for a second that he won't use every means at his disposal to bend you to his will."

The cryptic response only deepened your sense of foreboding. Mr. Hwang's intentions remained shrouded in mystery, and you couldn't afford to trust anything his sidekick told you. Your focus shifted to finding an opportunity to escape and rejoin your fellow Counters to confront this powerful evil spirit once and for all.

Yeah you didn’t want to talk anymore.

You decided to bide your time and remain cautious. Engaging Gelly in conversation seemed futile, as she appeared to be loyal to Mr. Hwang and was unlikely to provide any useful information. Instead, you continued to assess your surroundings, looking for any potential means of escape.

As you observed the apartment more closely, you noticed a window that overlooked the city. It was a potential exit route, but with your hands tied, reaching it would be a challenge. You also couldn't forget that Gelly was keeping a close watch on you, making any sudden moves risky.

It seemed that both of you would have to wait until Mr. Hwang came back from somewhere.

With the window as a potential escape route in mind, you waited patiently for Mr. Hwang's return. Your mind raced with thoughts of how to make use of the opportunity when it presented itself. Escaping this luxurious apartment and rejoining your fellow Counters had become your top priority.

As the minutes ticked by, you couldn't help but wonder about the well-being of your friends. Had they faced their own challenges in their pursuit of evil spirits? Were they safe, or had they encountered danger along the way?

Gelly continued to keep a watchful eye on you, her presence a constant reminder that you were not free to move as you wished. It was clear that you would have to be patient and wait for the right moment to make your move.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you heard the sound of footsteps approaching the apartment door. Your heart quickened as you realized that Mr. Hwang was returning.

As the door swung open, revealing Mr. Hwang's enigmatic figure, you braced yourself for whatever lay ahead. The battle against this formidable evil spirit was far from over, and you were determined to face it toe-to-toe, finger-to-finger no matter the cost.

Mr. Hwang entered the apartment, his presence exuding an unsettling aura of malevolence. His eyes fixed on you with an intensity that sent shivers down your spine. It was clear that he had unfinished business with you, and he wasted no time in addressing you.

"Ah, you're awake," he said, his voice dripping with a chilling mix of amusement and cruelty. "I trust you had a pleasant little rest?"

You remained silent, your gaze locked onto Mr. Hwang. There was no point in engaging in conversation with him. You needed to find a way to escape this situation and rejoin your fellow Counters.

You had to stay focused and wait for the right moment to make your move. Mr. Hwang's attention was on you, and you could feel the weight of his malevolent intentions. But you refused to be cowed by his presence. Instead, you used this time to assess your surroundings once more, searching for any possible advantage or means of escape.

Gelly remained nearby, her eyes flitting between you and Mr. Hwang. It was clear that she was loyal to her enigmatic leader, and you couldn't afford to underestimate her.

Mr. Hwang's unsettling grin widened as he continued to study you. "You're a resilient one," he remarked. "I like that. Resilience can be quite useful. But annoying."

You remained stoic, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a response. Your focus was solely on finding an opportunity to break free and confront Mr. Hwang on your own terms.

Suddenly, he walked closer to you and grabbed your chin, raising your face to face the air.

“Hmm, I think I’ll let you live. Of course— I’ll have to do something first.”

You gulped.

He started moving his hand down, slowly to reach your left shoulder. He started to bend down a bit and reach the level of where your face would be if you were not looking up.

“Look at me.”

You didn’t follow, wanting to annoy him. After that, you could hear him sigh because he was annoyed.

Then, your head was tilted down to look at him. The sudden movement made your neck hurt a bit, scrunching up your nose a bit because of the pain.

The sensation of Mr. Hwang forcibly tilting your head down to face him was unsettling. His intense gaze bore into your eyes, and you could feel the weight of his power and malevolence pressing down on you. It was clear that he enjoyed exerting control over his victims, relishing the fear and helplessness he instilled in them.

You couldn't help but feel a shiver of unease as he continued to study you. His intentions remained shrouded in mystery, and you had no choice but to comply with his demands for the moment. It was essential to stay vigilant and wait for an opportunity to escape his clutches.

As you met Mr. Hwang's gaze, you noticed a chilling glint in his eyes. It was a look of anticipation, as if he were savoring the fear and discomfort he was causing you. It was a stark reminder of the kind of adversary you were dealing with.

"Good," he purred, his voice dripping with cruelty. "Now, let's have a little chat, shall we?"

You remained silent, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a response. It was clear that Mr. Hwang enjoyed playing mind games, and you had no intention of playing along.

Gelly watched the interaction between you and Mr. Hwang with a bored expression. It was clear that she was loyal to Mr. Hwang and would not hesitate to carry out his orders even though she was bored. The situation was dire, but you refused to lose hope. You could see that she was a bit bored to just watch.

The uncertainty weighed heavily on your mind, but you knew that you had to stay strong and resilient in the face of this villain. “So, what is your name?” He asked, nonchalant.

”I’m not telling—“

You abruptly felt his hand on your neck, it’s grip almost lethal. “You’re going to have to listen to me, alright?” You gulped,

feeling the pressure of Mr. Hwang's grip on your neck. The threat in his tone was unmistakable, and you knew that defying him could have dire consequences.

"Alright," you managed to croak out, your voice strained. You didn't want to provoke him further, especially in your vulnerable position.

Mr. Hwang's grip on your neck loosened slightly, but his intense gaze remained fixed on you. "That's better," he said, his voice taking on a slightly mocking tone. "Now, let's try this again. What's your name?"

You hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much information you should reveal. But it was clear that Mr. Hwang expected an answer, and you didn't want to test his patience any further.

"It's... it's Y/N," you replied reluctantly, choosing to share only your first name for now.

Mr. Hwang's lips curled into a sinister smile. "Well, Y/N, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. You may call me Mr. Hwang."

The formality of his introduction only added to the eerie atmosphere of the room. You couldn't help but wonder about Mr. Hwang's true intentions and what he had in store for you. You were sweating.

As you exchanged introductions, you remained vigilant, searching for any opportunity to escape and rejoin your fellow Counters. The battle against this disgusting evil spirit was far from over, and you were determined to find a way to thwart his plans and protect those you cared about.

Mr. Hwang's unsettling smile didn't waver as he acknowledged your introduction. It was clear that he was enjoying the psychological game he was playing with you, reveling in your discomfort and fear. Gelly, on the other hand, continued to watch the interaction with a detached expression, her loyalty to her enigmatic leader unwavering.

As the tension in the room grew, you couldn't help but wonder about the fate of your fellow Counters. Had they encountered their own challenges and adversaries in their pursuit of evil spirits? Were they safe, or had they fallen into the clutches of malevolent forces as well? The uncertainty weighed heavily on your mind, but you knew that your first priority was to escape and regroup.

Mr. Hwang leaned in closer, his eyes never leaving yours. "Y/N," he said, his voice low and chilling.

Your heart raced as you tried to anticipate what he might demand from you. The thought of aligning yourself with this evil spirit was repulsive, but you knew that you had to buy time and play along until an opportunity to escape presented itself.

"What do you want from me?" you asked cautiously, your voice trembling slightly.

Mr. Hwang's smile widened, revealing a hint of his malevolent nature. "Oh, Y/N, you'll find out soon enough," he replied cryptically. "But for now, let's just say that I have a special task in mind for you."

You couldn't help but feel a growing sense of dread as you realized that you were now entangled in Mr. Hwang's web of intrigue. With Gelly keeping a watchful eye on you, you knew that escaping wouldn't be easy. But you also knew that you couldn't give up hope. Your resilience and determination were your greatest weapons, and you were prepared to use them to confront Mr. Hwang and protect those you cared about.

He said, “Y/N, I’ll need you to tell me information about your friends. That would help me greatly.” He sounded so friendly it was unnerving, making you gulp and your flight and fight instincts want to activate. You sighed, closing your eyes and opening them to try to calm yourself down.

”No. I won’t tell you— no matter what. You can hurt me, beat me up, make me bleed like shit and I won’t tell you.” You couldn’t help but grin at your attitude, which was unexpected from your view of the situation.

He gripped your chin with his right hand, examining your face. He started, “Maybe you’re going to join that pregnant woman and her kid. You should’ve heard her screams. Really pathetic, I can tell you.”

”SHUT UP! DON’T TALK ABOUT MS. LEE LIKE THAT!”

“And imagine Ma Ju-Seok, killing everyone. Going for revenge on the wrong person. So pitiful.”

”S-STOP! THAT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, YOU ASSHOLE!”

He could see that you’re angry, satisfied with seeing that reaction like a bully. You noticed that he was slowly loosening his grip on your chin and you took the oppoturnity to: headbutt him which made him rear back, hissing in pain.

The pain was clear on his face. He punched you with so much force that you broke through the leather couch and reached the wall, with your head starting to bleed from the blunt force. You felt dizzy and your vision was blurry. You could see that he was a tiny bit frustrated at your preservation.

You could hear Gelly laughing at your misery, a bit insulting.

“Gelly, go search for the other counters. I need to talk to our guest, alone.”

Gelly rolled her eyes, irritated. “Huh, yeah. Sure.” She walked out with a click-clack, her boots making noise as she walked out. You began to got a bit scared and wish that Yung had given you teleportation powers.

Shit.

You felt intense pain when your body was banged against the roof and wooden floor, the pain so intense that you can’t scream. You  noticed that you were bleeding more, able to feel iron in your mouth. You coughed harshly and spat the iron in your mouth onto the ground, wincing. Blood coated the wood, splattering all around. This was not good.

There was a pause before you felt a sharp sting on your thigh and then another one on the arm, followed by a kick to your chest. You could hear him laugh.

“You look so pathetic right now, it’s funny.” He finally calmed himself down— as in stop laughing— and crouched down. You saw him grin, then pull out a coin from his pocket.

”If it’s heads, you’ll live.”

Subsequently, you saw the coin float into the air and spin. The suspence was making you gulp in anticipation, knowing that this situation was in his control. It was up to you if you were going to make it to the next day.

The coin fell to the ground.

It was heads.

What the fuck.

“Think of this as a gift from me. You’re going to see what I have planned for you, my dear.”

He clapped his hands, causing you to crash into the wall.

”I had my permission anyway.”

I keep on making him say counters to refer to them
I don’t think it’s realistic, so sorry about that. I’ll change it in future updates

Chapter 3: Author’s Guilt

Chapter Text

uh.
So, I’m going to be introducing my plans for the supposed Chapter 3. The thing is, I planned a non-con scene for that. And the problem is:

I don’t have the heart to write it out even though I planned it in my head.

Should I write it out or do I just leave it to your imagination?

Be honest, please.

Thank you.

Chapter 4: Not sure if you need me too

Notes:

Non-con warning!
This chapter’s kinda important to the storyline but uhh— you can skip if you want :)
Inspired by “Tea With The Devil” by BrattyBratty and “Why Will I Kill Him” by Anonymous
Now, let’s proceed!

Chapter Text

You were surprised to wake up from your beating, blinking your eye. Unfortunately, your left eye was only left with its socket.

Wait.

What.

DID THEY TREAT YOU?!

You quickly sat up, noticing the bandages and the eyepatch. You banged your head on your knee, sobbing because you were kind of indebted to them then. Quickly, you took off the eyepatch and saw the detail on it. You promptly saw that Gelly had drawn the same picture on her eyepatch on yours. It was her fault you only had an eye socket.

You winced when you remembered the pain when she stabbed you in the eye with her spikes. You silently hoped that they were not here because you really needed to fucking sort yourself out now and certainly think of escaping.

Well, your hopes were shortlived when you heard Gelly yelling about finally beating a candy crush level. Then, you began to take note of your surroundings. You were in one of the hotel rooms that they had and you were sitting down on a very comfortable bed. You hated this.

You could still taste iron on your mouth. You grimaced and wiped some blood away from your lip with your sleeve. You glanced at your shoulder, where you saw the bandage stained with blood; it was hard to see how deep the wound went since you had been sleeping for a while after they had kicked your ass into the room. After some consideration, you decided to rip the bandage off and remove the sticky substance from your skin. It wasn’t too bad, you reasoned. Besides, even though it stung like hell, you felt better after doing so. Now the real work began.

You must've been sleeping for the whole day because it was nighttime again. As you stretched, you noticed that your left leg was throbbing with pain.

Fuck.

The damage must have been done most there. Then, the door was swung open slowly by a hand, then you saw the face that opened it.

It was Mr. Hwang.

”Y/N, put your eyepatch back on,” he said as he entered, sitting next to you. You ignored him but then saw his face. You hesitantly put your eyepatch back on. He turned his head and looked at you with a nonchalant expression.

He said, “Thankfully, we have gotten the information we needed thanks to Gelly so you are practically useless now.”

You were about to die, is it?

Oh well.

”I’ve been feeling quite pent up lately.”

What…

…Does he mean?

”So what?”

You tensed up. Then, you noticed him shifting closer to you, using his right hand to touch your cheek. You gripped his wrist, trying to get his hand away.

Your heart raced as you desperately tried to push Mr. Hwang's hand away from your face. The situation had taken a disturbing turn, and you felt a surge of fear and disgust at his advances.

"Get away from me!" you hissed, your voice trembling with a mix of anger and revulsion.

But Mr. Hwang seemed unfazed by your resistance. Instead, he leaned in closer, his face dangerously close to yours. His grip on your wrist tightened, making it clear that he had no intention of letting you go.

"Y/N, you really should learn to cooperate," he said, his voice dripping with sinister intent. "I can make things very unpleasant for you if you continue to resist."

Your mind raced as you searched for a way out of this horrifying situation. You couldn't let Mr. Hwang have his way, but you were at a severe disadvantage, physically and mentally.

Summoning all the strength you could muster, you used your free hand to grab the nearest object within reach, a heavy decorative vase on a nearby table. With all your remaining energy, you swung it towards Mr. Hwang's head, aiming to incapacitate him and break free.

As you swung the vase towards Mr. Hwang's head, it was abruptly halted mid-air, caught in the invisible grip of his psychokinetic powers. Your heart sank as you realized that even your desperate attempt to fend him off had been thwarted by his formidable abilities.

Mr. Hwang's grip on your wrist tightened further, and he leaned in even closer, his face mere inches from yours. His sinister grin widened as he reveled in your helplessness.

"Such spirit," he taunted, his breath cold against your face. "But ultimately futile."

Despite the dire circumstances, you refused to give up. You continued to struggle, attempting to break free from his grasp. Your mind raced for any possible solution, any way to escape this nightmare.

“I’LL MAKE SURE YOU GET THE REVENGE YOU DES—“

Suddenly, the door to the room burst open, and Gelly stormed in, a look of annoyance on her face. "Mr. Hwang, can't you wait until I'm done with my game before you do whatever it is you're planning?"

Mr. Hwang released his hold on you and leaned back, his sinister intentions momentarily interrupted by Gelly's intrusion. You took the opportunity to scramble away from him, putting some distance between yourself and the evil spirit.

Gelly glanced at you with a hint of annoyance before turning her attention back to Mr. Hwang. "So, what's the plan now?" she asked, clearly uninterested in your presence.

Mr. Hwang seemed momentarily distracted, his focus shifting to Gelly. It was a brief respite, but you knew you had to seize the opportunity to regroup and find a way to escape.

As you caught your breath, you took stock of your surroundings. The room was dimly lit, and you could see the window that offered a potential means of escape. Your energy conversion abilities were still limited to converting light energy to heat, but perhaps you could use that to your advantage.

Then, you heard him send Gelly away. You’re dead as fuck now. You quickly got up and tried to tiptoe out of the room but he shut the door, using his powers to send you crashing to the wall.

Pain surged through your body as you were once again thrown against the wall by Mr. Hwang's psychokinetic powers. It was clear that attempting to escape while he was in control would be futile.

Mr. Hwang approached you, his sinister grin returning. "Did you really think you could escape so easily, Y/N?" he taunted. "You underestimate me."

You winced as you struggled to get back on your feet, but your injuries and weakened state made it difficult. It seemed that you were at Mr. Hwang's mercy once again.

He reached out and gripped your chin, forcing you to meet his gaze. "Now, where were we?"

Fear and desperation coursed through you as you realized that you were once again trapped in Mr. Hwang's clutches. You needed a plan, a way to outwit this powerful evil spirit and make your escape. But in your current state, it seemed like an impossible task.

“Hwang Pil-Gwang… I’ll make sure you—“

You were silenced when you felt something on your lips.

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck—

Your vision went blurry. He licked his lips seductively while his hands grabbed your wrists, squeezing them tight. You struggled against his hold, but to no avail.

“Aww!” he cooed at you, “Look at you struggling like a pathetic little bitch.” And then suddenly, you felt his tongue enter your mouth. Your stomach churned and you closed your eyes, refusing to watch him violating you.

"If you're already suffering from this, I wonder how would you be when I go with what I've planned for you."

You felt a hand slide down to your breast and you shuddered involuntarily, feeling goosebumps forming on your skin. Mr. Hwang pulled back from his kiss with a smirk. Your cheeks burned and you tried to compose yourself. This man will pay. And yet, when you dared to meet his eyes once again, he seemed rather amused, not scared or disgusted by what was happening between you and him.

“This isn’t over,” you snarled quietly under your breath. His smirk broadened.

“Oh, I know, darling.”

After a few moments of silence, Mr. Hwang released your arms, causing you to fall on your knees due to the sudden movement. He then moved his hand upwards and caressed your hair lovingly, leaving you completely powerless, your brain running blank.

“Now then, shall we continue?” he said in a playful tone. You nodded and stared into his eyes, trying your best not to show how terrified you actually were.

There has to be some way to survive, there just has to be! If you think positively, then everything will turn out fine!

His hands started to roam down your jawline, his touch lingering on your neck and shoulders.  Then his hands traveled farther down and stopped on your breasts. He began stroking them gently, giving them firm, firm squeezes.

"Please. I don't want you to stop. Please…" he mocked how you would sound like in his view as his fingertips traced circles around your hard nipples. Your breathing became erratic and short as you desperately tried to calm down. You thrashed in his hold, trying to get his hands away from your body. He immediatly used his powers to make your hands stay on the wall, sighing irritatedly.

He continued running his hands up and down your torso, loosening his psychokinetic powers on your hands. He put his hands away from you.

“Do you want me to do it for you?”

You saw that he was pointing to the Counter uniform you still wore, the thing that you considered was protecting you most right now— including your undergarments and trousers of course. “Wh-What?” You chuckled nervously, tears pouring out of your eyes. He rolled his eyes, obviously annoyed as he pointed his finger, making you stiffen up and raise your arms in the air.

“I’ll do it for you, brat.”

He lifted the black jacket off of your body, tossing it aside and ‘helping’ you take your trousers off. “There. Really, you’re like a small child,” he commented calmly. You shuddered, feeling the coldness of the room caused by the AC. “Oh, you’re cold already? Ah, you sure are sensitive. Oh, what are these marks on your arms?” He asked, noticing the three black stars on your arms and one white star. You shut your mouth, not wanting to answer.

“Answer me.”

He used his psychokenisis to make your body feel like it was getting crushed, making you pant and scream in pain. “I-I’M NOT GOING TO TELL— AHHH!” You shouted, sweating profusely and laughing to try to shake the pain off.

“That has somethng to do with your abilities, doesn’t it?” He sighed, kissing your forehead. “Yeah… I’m correct.”

He abruptly went behind you, hugging you to make sure you were close to him.

He put his right hand on your arse, massaging it. The sensation and sight of him doing this to you was horrendous beyond words. You squirmed and wriggled with all your might to no avail.

He had you completely curbed.

He carried you bridal style, walking to the bed. You felt yourself on the bed again, finally feeling comfortable again. “There. Comfortable?” He used a hand to make your mouth mimic you saying “Yes, Mr. Hwang.” You wanted to burst into tears now.

You flinched when his hand was poking underneath your soft breast. What the heck is he doing? You thought, your hands clenching at the poking. The chills down your spine as you had a thought that he was going to do this— at your chest? You suddenly felt warmth around a nipple, making you shake.

Your throat felt dry as you opened your mouth to speak.

”Wh-What’re you doing?”  You asked, your voice shaky and strained from fear and nervousness. You didn’t even realize it until now but you’re trembling. “Don’t touch my boobs.” You really wanted to keep your dignity even though he didn't seem like he was going to listen to you. He swirled his tongue around the bud, giving it a gentle kiss before releasing himself.

Mr. Hwang laughed. “You’ve got some nerve acting tough around me.”

Before you could respond he pinched one of your nipples, making you gasp. He rubbed his thumb on your nipple while his fingers continued kneading your other one. You clenched your teeth tightly together, fighting to keep your cries down. This bastard is gonna die!

"Are you happy yet?" he asked arrogantly. You bit the inside of your cheek to contain any further protests. You weren't going to give him the satisfaction. His other hand slowly travelled upwards and touched your left breast lightly, sending another wave of discomfort through your body, eliciting a pained gasp.

He nuzzled into your neck, murmuring. He spoke out coolly, “Shit. You look so fragile right now. Ahh, come on. Reply, Y/N.”

You bit your lip, feeling it almost bleed from the force of your teeth. Your legs started quivering, starting to sob. He chuckled darkly, lifting his face from your neck and he started kissing you on the lips, then you tried to push him off.  He rolled his eyes, annoyed, holding the wrists of both your arms with one hand.

"Don't you like it?" he whispered, "you need it." You didn't. You wanted him to fuck off. "Do you like having this much pleasure?" He continued. You hated the sound of his low growling voice. You hated that he knew exactly where to hit and how hard he should apply pressure.

You felt tears prick at the corner of your eyes.

Suddenly, you noticed a featherlight touch on the area above your underwear. Oh no. You dreaded the direction this was going. He grabbed it, pulling it down but nevertheless, you tried to stop him by grabbing his hand, shaking your head furiously. “Don’t— please… I-I—“ you ended up babbling begs for him to stop. He studied your trembling frame, smirking.

“Continue begging for me to stop, go on,” he urged as he pulled down your underwear fully.

You, sobbing miserably.

Your power useless because of your feelings.

Now, just one last thing.

He unexpectedly slipped a finger into you, making you yelp in both pain and surprise. You started panicking, trying to get yourself out of his grip and trying to use your Energy Conversion. You couldn’t. It was because you were in hysteria right now, was it? Man. Your weaknesses were what you were feeling right now. Your whole body was shivering, trembling and quivering as you felt that he was scissoring you, holding in a painful moan in your throat. “Y/N, Y/N. You’re soooo weak, you know that? I’m quite sure you do,” he sighed breathily, taking off his white shirt and resuming to pinch your cheek.

You could literally sense that he was grinning at your reaction.

“Go on. Do what you want to do. Use your voice.”

“FUCKING STOP! PLEASE!” You yelled between your heavy breathing, sobbing. You weren’t supposed to feel like this. What the— What the fuck is wrong with you. You really wanted him to.

“Huh. You want me to stop doing—“ he paused, proceeding to prod at a really sensitive spot, then continuing, “—this?” You couldn’t hold it back anymore, you let out the restrained sound, attempting to cover your mouth. He grabbed your wrist with a smirk. “Ah~ no, no. Don’t do that. I want to hear it all.”

He continued to play with you, moving his face to your neck and kissing it softly. “I would have really liked you if you weren’t against me.”  You really wanted to disassociate or some shit right now. He nuzzled against your neck in a mock of a lover’s touch, biting the skin.

“I’m going to kill you…” you clenched your teeth as you let out a hiccup from your sobs. You felt him dig his fingers deeper, making you moan again. You just couldn’t hold it down.

Would you blame yourself?

Yeah, for sure.

Wait— you were going to have an orgasm. OH SHIT.

“Mun, go water the grass!” You screamed as you let out the most inhuman noise of pleasure. He looked up at you in amusement, even laughing a bit.

“That’s—“ he laughed again, “—how you are when you’re having an orgasm?” He grinned. “You’re funny.” He took his fingers out of you, showing you the fluid sticking on them. “Are you a virgin?”

”N-Nooo…?” Your brain was hazy from your recent orgasm. You heard him unbluckle something but you didn’t care.

“Someone sexually experienced wouldn’t be this wet, Y/N.” He lowered his face onto your neck, starting with a kiss but then started sucking the skin on it, making you yelp in surprise. You were disgusted with his action, trying to get him to back off.

Immediatly, he raised his hand into the air, making your hands rest on his back. “Stop trying to get me off. You’re enjoying this,” he sighed. He pulled away after the mark appeared, repeating the process everywhere until he reached your pelvis. He wiped his fingers on the bedsheets, going to sit on the side of the bed. He raised his hand again.

Your body was in the air, rotated then fell on the bed. Your face was on the pillow.

“How does it feel, for your enemy to be making you feel like this?”

Before you could reply, Mr. Hwang pressed himself against you, his member pushing firmly between your thighs. You gasped loudly, your head falling back onto the pillow.

You screamed into your pillow, sobbing loudly. “AHHH FUCK YOU!” Even though you were muffled, you were sure he could hear you.

“I’m doing that to you, so just calm down.”  He caressed you gently, stroking you as if petting a cat. You flinched in response. He continued hammering into you, making you feel like a hotdog. You could hear him pant heavily.

You tried to think think that you were sitting on a nice, breezy grassland with your friends, having a picnic. Mun was drawing, Mo-tak was eating all the food with Ms. Chu scolding him, Ha-na just enjoying the breeze and Jeok-bong talking to you about which type of milk is the—

“I’M GONNA DIE! GET IT OUT!”

You were sure you didn’t have rizz but if you did, you would want your lover to take good care of you while you both enjoyed in the moment.

He was doing the exact opposite.

“You’re not going to, stop being overdramatic,” he chuckled in reply, panting heavily. “You’re lucky I gave you the foreplay, or this would’ve hurt much worse. Ahh, jeez. I didn’t think you’d make me cum this hard.” He chuckled, his heavy breathing audible. Then, you felt warmth in your womb. You felt yourself die a bit.

After that, he saw a blue glow emit from your mouth, immediatly putting his face close to it as a response. It went into his own and he felt a surge of energy. He spoke, “I think that’s enough, don’t you think?” He kissed your cheek tenderly, carressing it.

“如果是头,你就会活下去。” (If it’s heads, you’ll live.)

“如果是尾巴,你就死了。” (If it’s tails, you die.)

He flipped his coin into the air, it landing onto his hand.

You could guess what it landed on, tails, right?

You wished.

He pulled out until only the tip of his dick was inside you. You sighed in relief, hoping that he was going to stop. Just maybe. He then moved his hand to snake it around your throat and lift your torso off the bed without much struggle.

Bro I’m gonna die— I’ve got no oxygen. YAYYYYYY!! You thought, gripping onto his wrist tightly. The new positione he put you in had you on his lap against his chest.

“I can see you better now.”

You were a blubbering mess, tears dripping down your face and hiccups escaping your throat. Your cheeks were unapologetically pink, bruises stationed around your body and an obvious bite mark on your neck. Your breathing was erratic, your legs and fingers twitching.

He placed his hand on your cheek, articluating, “There, there. Calm down.” He carressed your cheek, wiping your tears with his thumb.

“Fu-fuck you…” you trailed off, bowing your head in embarrassment. You’d pay all the money you have to disappear right now.

”AHHHHHHHH!”

You screamed as you felt him shove his cock into you again, thrusting upwards again. You were paperweight to him, your weight seemingly not registering on him. He was panting heavily, gripping onto your neck and arm to seemingly cope with his stamina.

The feeling of his piece of meat throbbing inside you was intense enough to spiral you into a second climax of a story. You screamed as you felt yourself spasm on the dick, throwing your head back.

He’s fucking getting a kick out of this, isn’t he?

The last rounds of his thrusts were a bit sporadic but purposeful as you felt warmth inside you again. You couldn’t feel your arms because of how fucking hard he gripped them. When you felt his cock start to soften, you felt that he released you. You didn’t feel like getting up yourself, falling to the sinking bedsheets. Your body quivered as a result of the overstimulation, and your eye stared into nothing, tired as fuck.

You felt pressure on your neck.

And that was the last thing you remember.

Chapter Text

“Y/N, are you okay?”

You heard Jeok-bong ask as your eye fluttered open, feeling the comfort of the bed you were laying on and seeing that all of the Counters sitting next to your bed. “Huh, yeah. Thanks for asking, Jeok-bong,” you replied.

After that, you were bombarded with hugs.

”Y/N! We were worried about you!”

”Glad to see you’re okay.”

”Are you hurt?”

”Yeah,” was your reply to all their words. You were tired but still appreciated the concern your friends had for you. “How did you guys find me?”

Ha-na explained, “Hwang Pil-Gwang stepped in the territory on purpose and dropped you there.” She sighed, clearly not happy with how they had found you. “He had also used your phone.” She took her phone and went to Messages, showing the texts they had received.

They found out your password?!

You were shocked to see that Mr. Hwang had not only dropped you in the territory but had also managed to access your phone and send messages using your number. The realization sent a chill down your spine. It was a breach of your privacy and a concerning display of his capabilities. He probably made Gelly read your mind to search for it.

The thought of Mr. Hwang and Gelly possibly using psychic abilities to access your phone's passcode made you feel even more vulnerable. It was clear that they were formidable adversaries with a range of powers at their disposal. You knew you would have to be more cautious and guarded in the future to prevent further breaches of your security.

Mo-tak, who had been listening intently, chimed in, "We need to be extra careful from now on. Our enemy is not to be underestimated."

The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on all of you. It was a stark reminder that the battle against evil spirits was not just physical but also involved a complex web of psychic powers and manipulation.

Ha-na continued, "We managed to find you because we traced the territory's energy signature, but it was not an easy task. We were all worried about you."

As the conversation continued, you couldn't help but feel grateful for your fellow Counters' unwavering support. Later on, they decided to leave you alone to sort yourself out. Wait, so today I’m supposed to get my period, you thought as you checked the Period Tracker on your phone.

Am I…

Yeah I’d better go check.

You went out, not telling anyone where you were going. You noticed that it was about 12 PM after checking your phone. Feeling a sense of urgency, you decided to make your way to the nearest convenience store to purchase some supplies. As you walked through the streets of Jungjin, you couldn't help but feel a mixture of emotions. The recent encounter with Mr. Hwang had left you shaken, and you needed some time alone to collect your thoughts.

Arriving at the convenience store, you quickly grabbed the necessary items such as: a pregnancy test, a few packs of Ribena pastilles and some plasters to renew the old ones you had. Then, you made your way to the counter to pay. The cashier gave you a polite nod as they rang up your purchases, and you tried to muster a small smile in return.

Once you had the supplies in hand, you headed back to the hideout. Quickly, you took out the small box with pregnancy test and placed the plastic bag on the wooden table. You had kind of forgotten where the restroom was and had to ask Mun which was awkward.

“Mun, do you know where’s the toilet?”

”Oh, it’s just over there, eonni,” he said as he pointed at the direction the restroom was at. You nodded in reply and thanked him, running in the restroom. Then, you quickly did the test.

While doing it, it made you feel uneasy because you had to pee on it and you had to go to your room— that you shared with Ha-na that was away— and wait. You were a bit worried, deciding to watch Youtube while waiting. As you waited for the pregnancy test results, you tried to distract yourself by watching YouTube videos. The minutes seemed to stretch on endlessly, and your anxiety continued to build. You couldn't help but think about the implications of the test, especially in the midst of your anxiety and the recent happenings.

The familiar voices and laughter from the YouTube videos served as a temporary escape from your worries, but deep down, you knew that you needed to face the reality of the situation. After what felt like an eternity, you finally mustered the courage to check the test.

Your heart raced as you looked down at the small plastic stick, and your breath caught in your throat as you saw the result. It was a moment of truth, one that would have significant consequences for your life as a person and your future.

The test revealed...

Yeah, you could’ve probably guessed what it was before seeing it.

It was two lines.

OH MY FUCK.

You instantly panicked, holding the proof in your hands. Suddenly, you heard footsteps approaching you door. Quickly, you hid it under your pillow, hopping to your bed (which was the bottom bunk) and pretending to be watching Youtube the whole time.

“Hey there, Ha-na!” You said casually, grinning.

Ha-na entered the room, seemingly unaware of your internal turmoil. She greeted you with a warm smile, her eyes reflecting genuine concern. "Hey, Y/N. How are you feeling now?"

You tried your best to maintain a composed facade, despite the storm of emotions swirling within you. "I'm feeling better. Thanks for asking," you replied, doing your best to act natural.

Ha-na sat down on her bunk, which was the top bunk of the bunk bed, and looked at you with a knowing expression. "You know, Y/N, you can always talk to us about anything that's bothering you. We're like family, and we'll support you no matter what."

Her words tugged at your heartstrings, and you felt a lump forming in your throat. The Counters had indeed become like a family to you, and their unwavering support meant the world to you. But this was a secret you weren't ready to share just yet.

"Yeah, I know," you replied, offering Ha-na a reassuring smile. "I'll keep that in mind. Right now, I just need some time to sort things out."

Ha-na nodded understandingly. "Of course, take all the time you need. We're here for you whenever you're ready." She got up to the top and she started using her phone.

With that, Ha-na returned to her own thoughts, and you couldn't help but feel a mixture of relief and anxiety. You knew that you would have to address this situation eventually, but for now, you needed to gather your thoughts and figure out how to navigate the challenges that lay ahead.

As you lay on your bunk, the pregnancy test hidden beneath your pillow, you couldn't escape the weight of the reality that had just been revealed. The implications were vast, and the path forward uncertain. The thing was, Mr. Hwang had used your phone. Did he know that yesterday was the highest chance for you to be pregnant? There was a calender on your phone, showing which days were the highest chance of being… yeah. He for sure did.

You clenched your fist in anger

The anger and frustration welled up inside you as you realized the extent of Mr. Hwang's intrusion into your personal life. It was not only a breach of your privacy but a violation of boundaries that left you seething with resentment. The fact that he had manipulated the situation to his advantage only fueled your anger further.

As you lay on your bunk, you couldn't help but replay the events of the past day in your mind. Mr. Hwang's calculated actions, his use of psychic abilities, and his blatant disregard for your well-being infuriated you. It was clear that he would stop at nothing to achieve his sinister goals, and you were determined not to let him succeed.

You knew you had to tread carefully, especially with the pregnancy test results now hanging over your head. It was a delicate situation, and you needed time to think about how to handle it. You hoped that you were not going to panic because of this. You usually panicked about small things, which you hoped would not happen with this.

Taking a few deep breaths, you tried to collect your thoughts. This was a moment that required careful consideration and planning. You needed to determine your next steps, especially concerning how to address the pregnancy test results and the intrusion by Mr. Hwang.

You knew that sooner or later, you would have to have a conversation with the other Counters about Mr. Hwang and the potential threat he posed. But for now, you needed a plan, and you needed to decide whether you would keep the pregnancy test results to yourself or confide in someone you trusted. The minutes ticked by, and the weight of the situation hung heavily in the air. You couldn't help but think about the choices you had to make and the uncertain future that lay ahead.

Defeating the evil spirits are a top priority so you decided to keep the results to yourself. Then, you decided to scroll through the messages that Pil-Gwang sent. You saw a selfie with Mr. Hwang sticking out his tongue and doing a peace sign with you laying on the ground, knocked out. That made you clench your teeth. You proceeded to scroll up a bit, catching a voice mail.

You decided to press on the play button.

You regretted it.

Abruptly, you heard yourself and him panting. WHAT THE FUCK.

You heard him say, “Go on. Do what you want to do. Use your voice.”

“FUCKING STOP! PLEASE!” You heard yourself yell between your heavy breathing, sobbing. You immediatly stopped the recording, suddenly seeing yourself on the white, clean bed and his black hair. He was smirking at you before his face was close to yours and you felt his hot breath on your face, feeling his hand on your leg—

“Y/N! Are you alright?” said Ha-na’s voice with her hands shaking you back to reality.

Your heart was pounding, and you were breathing heavily as you snapped back to the present moment. Ha-na's concerned voice and her shaking hands were a stark reminder that you had been lost in a traumatic memory, a moment of vulnerability that Mr. Hwang had cruelly captured. You struggled to regain your composure, your hands trembling as you reached out to Ha-na.

"I'm... I'm okay," you stammered, trying to push the memory aside. "Just... had a bit of a flashback."

Ha-na's eyes were filled with worry as she sat down beside you on the bunk, her hand gently resting on your shoulder. "Y/N, you don't have to go through this alone. If something's bothering you, you can talk to us. We're here to support you."

Her words were a lifeline in the midst of your turmoil, and you felt a rush of gratitude for the genuine care and concern your fellow Counters had for you. You knew that Ha-na was right; you didn't have to bear the weight of your past traumas by yourself.

Taking a deep breath, you decided to confide in her about the voice message you had just stumbled upon. It was a painful memory, but it was also evidence of Mr. Hwang's sinister intentions, and you couldn't keep it to yourself any longer.

"H-Ha-na," you began, your voice trembling. Clearly, she had heard the voice message since you were not wearing your headphones. After that, she hugged you.

Ha-na's embrace was a source of comfort as you recounted the disturbing voice message to her. You could feel her support and understanding as she held you close, her presence reassuring in the wake of the traumatic memory that had resurfaced. It was a difficult conversation, but it was one that needed to be had.

As you shared the details of the voice message, Ha-na's expression shifted from concern to anger. The revelation of Mr. Hwang's actions only solidified your shared determination to confront this threat head-on.

"That... that monster," Ha-na muttered through clenched teeth. "Do you want me to tell—“

Ha-na had been about to ask if you wanted her to inform the others about the voice message, but before she could continue, the door to your room burst open, and Mo-tak, Jeok-bong, Ms. Chu, and Mun walked in with serious expressions.

Mo-tak, his usual deep voice speaking with a crack, spoke first. "Y/N, we need to talk."

You swallowed hard, your heart pounding in your chest. Ha-na, who was still holding you, tightened her grip, a silent show of support.

Mun, his brows furrowed, added, "We know about the voice message."

Ms. Chu's eyes bore into you, her usually calm and composed demeanor replaced by a fierce determination.

Ha-na, still holding you, looked at you with a mix of concern and determination, waiting for your response. The room felt heavy with tension, the fact that your most vulnerable state was exploited by him. Being embarrassed would be an euphemism for what you felt.

“Can I not talk about it? I- I’m not feeling it right now,” you stammered, trying to prevent them from even touching on the topic.

A solemn silence settled over the room as your request hung in the air. The Counters exchanged glances, and it was clear that they were torn between respecting your wishes and their burning desire to confront the threat that Mr. Hwang represented.

Mo-tak, always the one to prioritize your well-being, spoke up first. "Y/N, we understand if you're not ready to talk about it right now. Your comfort and safety come first."

Jeok-bong, who had been visibly angered by the voice message, nodded in agreement. "We won't push you, but just remember that we're here to support you whenever you're ready."

Ms. Chu, her eyes still reflecting determination, added, "We'll be vigilant and make sure you're safe. But when you're ready to discuss this, don't hesitate to come to us."

Mun, the youngest among them, chimed in, "You're part of our family, Y/N. We'll protect you, no matter what."

Ha-na, who had been holding you throughout the conversation, gave you a reassuring squeeze. "Take all the time you need, Y/N. We're not going anywhere."

Their words were a testament to their unwavering support and their respect for your boundaries. It was clear that they were determined to protect you, but they also recognized the importance of allowing you to process your emotions and experiences at your own pace.

With a deep breath, you nodded in gratitude. "Thank you, all of you. I'll... I'll talk about it when I'm ready. Right now, let's focus on dealing with Mr. Hwang and Gelly."

The Counters nodded in agreement, their resolve unwavering. They knew that the battle against evil spirits was far from over, and their determination to stop Mr. Hwang had only grown stronger. They went out of the room, Mo-tak giving you a look of concern before leaving. Ha-na, meanwhile, decided to stay in the room but not talk to you so as to leave you alone. She went on the top bunk.

Chapter Text

“Your lemonade costs 1000 won? This has got to be a scam or something, kid,” a tall man with black hair groaned. I could see the small kid sigh in annoyance. Maybe that’s the girl.

“It’s not! I’m not going to lower my prices— I’m raising it for my family.”

”Really?” He chuckled, examining his wallet. “Well, have it here.” He gave her 4000 won instead, rolling his eyes in annoyance. “Pay it back when you grow up or some shi—“

”No swearing!”

He laughed in reply. “Pay me back when you grow up, alright? I’m Hwang Pil-Gwang, yours?” He gave her a friendly smile. Oh, it’s Pil-Gwang.

“L/N Y/N.”

“Pay me back.” He sighed, taking a cup of lemonade and heading off.

Is this really Pil-Gwang? He looks like he could be 20. Whatever.

And the memory faded into darkness.
