Chapter Text

It started out like a quiet night, like nothing was going on and it was staying that way.

But it didn’t turn out that way.

Of course the streets now were under the private eyes of a not-so ordinary cat and mouse duo. Tom, the sneaky navy-blue tomcat, and Jerry, the crafty little dark-orange mouse.

Together they're called many names, but for now they’ve become also known as…

 …The Cat & Mouse Detectives!

Now they’re detectives, ready for anything…if they don’t stop getting into fights first that is.

*POW!*

“OWHOHOW!”

But suddenly…

*Knock!*

A knock came at the door, and out came in someone they haven’t seen for a long time. 

“Quiet! They could be right behind me!” 

“*Whistle!*” whistled Tom.

Her name was Toodles. A glamourous and petite cream-colored cat who have crossed patches before with the duo. And each time they have, they could never help themselves but be charmed by her ways, as a doll this beautiful only shows up once in a cat's nine lives.

“No time to explain! You've got to help me! 

…If you have the heart for some lonely girl who's run into some trouble” She said as she chewed her gum.

The detectives were clearly allured, as they took the opportunity to appreciate her fine pointed ears, her long fluffy tail, her well clipped toe paws and everything in between.

And so it was no surprise that they both took her case, to stop a thief from stealing her new inheritance of tuna and cheese.

“I’d be most appreciative” she whispered.

Tom howled as she left, and the two took the case…

And so The Cat and Mouse Detectives were on the case, as the two ventured all the way in the mansion, facing all sorts of crazy traps. 

They went though trains, weapons, and even being chased by a crazy cloaked axe maniac!

“AAAAHHHH!” yelled Tom and Jerry.

All that trouble and danger, only to find…

…it was their “old pal” Butch, the alley cat, under the cloak?

***

“Let me explain!!” cried Butch as he ran away from an enraged Tom and Jerry.

This new chase went for a short while until they were all soon stopped by the guard dog, who was another “old pal” of theirs.

“What’s going on here?” Spike yelled as he confronted everyone.

“What's the ruckus?! What are you doing here? What are you doing here? Make it snappy. I'm supposed to be guarding a pile of sardines!”

“I'm here 'cause of her Toodles! She said two goons were gonna steal her sardines. I thought you were them, I'm sorry for what I did to you. But I'd do anything for that fancy feline!” Butch explained.

Spike faced the two gumshoes.

“Is that right? You're trying to swipe the fish, are you?”

Tom, Jerry, and Butch both kept blaming each other, under finally,

“Uh-oh! The cans!”

Everyone raced outside only to be shocked as the whole pile of riches were gone, with only one little note left on the ground.

Spike picked it up and read,

 "Thanks, chumps. Couldn't have pulled off the heist without you. 

xo, Toodles.” 

“Toodles?!” Spike exclaimed in disbelief.

She'd played them like an old violin, The kind made with catnip. Toodles pretended to be the heiress in the headline, then got three suckers in a big fight to distract the dog so she could make off with the fishy fortune.

They could only now watch on as Toodles rode away with the fortune, blowing kisses at them smiling wide. They'd all been taught something, don't let a smooth purr and a soft paw send your brain on a holiday. 

Lesson learned…

…At least to everyone expect Tom. He still was enamoured with the feline fatale even after all this, which angered everyone else.

“That’s it!”

*POW!*

*BIFF!*

*WHACK!*

Peace now returned to the hard-boiled streets of Tolucaville, thanks to the Cat & Mouse detectives!

…Or did it? At least not so soon, as the is secretly more to this story…
