Niki's so damn hungry…

He's practically eaten half the pantry trying to stave off his hunger, but it's not enough. It's not satisfying his itch, not what Niki really needs.

What Niki needs right now is Rinne , but Rinne's not here right now, he never is, when Niki needs him. Stupid Rinne. Telling Niki that he'd always be there for him, that he can rely on him. Tells him that he doesn't need to get blood from anyone else cause Rinne would let him take as much as he wanted. What a liar. Niki hates him.

Seriously, this sucks! Had he never listened to Rinne, he wouldn't be in this situation in the first place! He'd have some pig's blood or something on hand, which doesn't work as great as human blood but it still works, be able to drink that and not be feeling like a black hole about to explode! Niki's so hungry that he's actually considering breaking the promise he made to Rinne and finding some unsuspecting civilian to drain the life out of.

Niki wonders where he would even find someone to get blood from. He’s not really a charmer, so he can’t use the traditional vampire method of luring someone into his bed and biting them there. Niki guesses he’d have to just assault someone in a back alley? But there’s no guarantee that the first person he comes across in any alley is gonna have good blood anyway, so maybe stalking someone is a better option..

As Niki lays on the floor, starting to genuinely consider the logistics of taking a human life, he hears the front door click open and closed.

Rinne.

With inhuman speed that he often forgets he has, Niki bolts to the door and has his hands on Rinne up against the door in seconds.

"Woah–! Heyyy, Niki," Rinne greets him, obviously a bit tipsy. Niki can smell the alcohol in his bloodstream. "I'm really glad you missed me and all, but at least let me get my shoes off first, yeah?"

"No." Niki snaps, forcefully pulling Rinne out of his jacket and getting his hands up his shirt. "Shut up."

"Ehhhh… You're being so cold, Nikiii." Rinne jokes, blush high on his cheeks. "Could it be that you haven't eaten anything today~?" 

That makes Niki tighten the grip he had on Rinne's waist. He doesn't get why Rinne's trying to rile him up right now, can't he see he's riled up enough?!

"Stop talking," is all Niki can manage to say in his desperation. He forces one of his legs in between both of Rinne's and noses at the side of his neck. "It's your fault I'm like this in the first place, so just be quiet and take responsibility." Rinne moans when Niki licks at his neck.

"Niki's being so assertive right now.." Rinne giggles, and he's still talking . "Maybe I should hold out on you more oft- mmph..!" Niki knows that Rinne's just running his mouth because he's embarrassed that he's not the one in control, so he does them both a favor and shuts him up by shoving his fingers in his mouth. It works, too, all Rinne does now is moan, and then he moans again because he's ashamed about the way he moaned the first time. "I don't get why you're so embarrassed about this anyway. I already told you that I'm fine with it being like this for you, so why are you still avoiding me?"

This whole dilemma started a couple weeks ago, last time Niki was feeding. Niki had gotten a bit carried away, and the whole ordeal ended up with Rinne blowing a load inside his pants. Rinne had looked like he wanted to die when he (reluctantly) admitted to having been kinda sorta really getting off to Niki feeding off of him recently. Niki didn't really mind, they weren’t together but it's not like they hadn't fucked before, and Niki would be lying if he said he didn't find it sexy when Rinne was all blissed out and glassy-eyed after a feeding session. So, really, Niki had no idea why Rinne was being so weird about it. If he had to guess, he would say that maybe Rinne felt guilty about being turned on by an act that was a survival thing for Niki, but again, Niki doesn't really care?? What he does care about is Rinne not depriving him of his energy source just because Rinne had a problem with his own reaction to it.

But that doesn't really matter right now. What matters is Niki getting his teeth in Rinne's neck. Rinne looks like he wants to protest, but if Niki doesn't get blood tonight he might actually die, so he ignores him. Usually, Niki feeds once a week, so he doesn't extract that much blood, but it's been nearly three weeks without a single drop of blood in his system, so who knows how much blood he's gonna have to suck this time. Maybe he should've let Rinne eat something before forcing himself onto him, but it's too late now.

It was so embarrassing when Kohaku had asked him why he'd been looking so sickly recently. He'd made up some excuse about allergies and the weather changes or whatever, but then Kohaku had asked if the weather had anything to do with the increasing tension between him and Rinne, and Niki had asked him if they could stop talking for a while.

"I'm digging in now, okay?" Rinne nods, sucking on Niki's fingers and looking just as desperate as Niki felt. 

…

Sinking his teeth into Rinne's teeth after weeks of not doing so has got to be one of Niki's top ten feelings ever. Maybe even top three. Rinne lets out a weird little half-hiss, half-moan that Niki mentally agrees with.

Rinne's not the only human that Niki's tasted blood from, but he's definitely the best Niki's had. There’s a hint of bitterness from the beer he probably had earlier, which isn't ideal, but he still tastes so, so good. Niki doesn't actually know why Rinne's blood tastes so good to him. Maybe it's because he grew up not eating any processed foods, but Rinne eats so much junk now (as much as Niki tries to make sure he eats properly) that it has to have canceled out by now. Maybe he just has good genes. Maybe Niki just likes it because it's Rinne. 

Rinne's wrapping his arms around Niki's neck in an attempt to ground himself. He sounds a lot more desperate now, which makes sense, because they're at the point now where Niki's drinking more than he usually does to make up for the weeks they missed. Niki can feel Rinne's legs about to give out, so he grabs on to his hips and lowers the both of them down to the floor, all while still sucking on his neck, not really considering the fact that Rinne getting weaker might be a sign that he should probably stop.

He doesn’t stop when Rinne’s sounds get louder, then softer. 

He doesn’t stop when Rinne’s grip gets tighter, then weaker.

Niki only stops when he’s had his fill.

Which coincidentally happens to be right when Rinne’s hand hits the floor and Niki snaps out of his trance. 

...

And promptly starts to panic. 

Rinne genuinely looks like he’s on the verge of passing out and never waking up again, so Niki picks him up (he’s extra-strong now that his energy is restored), sets him down on the couch, and shoves a juice pouch into his mouth. He sighs in relief when Rinne weakly closes his lips around the straw and starts drinking. 

Niki runs to the pantry to find something high in carbs ( these crackers should be good enough.. right? ) and runs back to shove those into Rinne's mouth too.

"Sorry, Rinne-kun. I was hungry and didn't realize I was getting carried away, nahaha…"

"Nah, 's my faul'" Rinne says, while Niki feeds him another cracker. "Didn't tap out when I was s’posed to.."

Niki gasps when he realizes that yeah, it totally was Rinne's fault! "You're right! You're supposed to tap out! Why didn't you tap out?!"

"'Cause..!" Rinne weakly argues back. "I wanted Niki to take as much as he needs from me."

"That's fine, but I can't take blood from you if you're dead!" Rinne opens his mouth to fight back, but Niki pops a cracker in there before he can say anything, so Rinne relents. "Besides, I wouldn't have needed to take so much if you hadn't been running away from me!" Rinne looks guilty when he says that. Good, Niki thinks. You should feel guilty . 

To Niki's surprise, Rinne actually apologizes.

"Sorry, Niki." He turns his head away. "Just didn't want you t'think I was gross or somethin'..."

Niki sighs and turns Rinne’s face so he has to look at Niki.

“Listen to this, Rinne-kun. I think a lot of things about you. I think you’re annoying and obnoxious and reckless and inconsiderate, but I don’t mind any of it, you know? You can be as gross and weird and selfish as you want to and I won’t leave. I’ll put up with your awful personality no matter what, so don’t worry about it, okay?”

Niki can feel Rinne’s face heating up in his hand, and he wants to be smug about it, but he also doesn’t want to scare away Rinne, who’s always flaky when it comes to these kinds of conversations, so Niki just pulls him into his lap instead.

“Niki….” Rinne tries to hide his flushed face in the crook of Niki’s neck, but Niki doesn’t let him.

“Promise me you’ll stop running away, yeah?”

Rinne grumbles something incoherent. 

“Hm? What was that, Rinne-kun?” It’s getting really hard to not be smug about this. This flustered side of Rinne is just too cute.

"... I said I promise.” 

“There we go.” Niki squeezes Rinne’s face in his hand. He’s soo taking advantage of the fact that Rinne’s too weak and flustered to attack him right now. He’ll definitely have to watch his back in the morning, though. Rinne never holds back when it comes to revenge. “Was that really so hard?”

Rinne grumbles again and flops down onto Niki. Niki lets him this time. 

“Ahhh, Rinne-kuuun,” Niki drawls. “You’re so cute like this, you know?”

Rinne jolts in his spot and grumbles for a third time. Niki pats him on the back. 

“You must be tired, right? Let’s get you to bed.” Niki’s nocturnal, so he doesn’t really need to sleep right now, especially having just eaten. Though sometimes he goes to bed with Rinne anyway, just so neither of them feel alone at night. 

Rinne tightens his arms around Niki’s neck. 

“..let’s stay like this a little longer.” 

Niki giggles and pats him on the head. Yeah, he really likes Rinne like this.

“Of course.”
