Chapter Text

   “Ugh, just fucking work already this metal useless piece of shit!” You grunted as you kicked hard into your van, hoping it would somehow turn the engine on but the thing just buzzed up a little and then died down, it seems like it was overheating, great, just great, now how the fuck can you get home? You have to wait at least half an hour just for this shit to cool down.

    You let out an exaggerated sigh as you sat down heavily, you’re too tired to do anything anyway, your hand lazily reaching out for your pocket, pulling out your phone as you checked your messages, just like always, you received some messages from your annoying neighbors about turning your music down or told you to keep quiet when you arrived home at midnight, either way, you don’t give a shit about their complaints, they chose to live here so they have to bear with it heh.

     It’s not like you’re going to live there any longer anyway, you already have enough money to buy your own house, you have taken care of all the paperwork a few days ago, you also contacted the delivery service to move all your furniture in by tomorrow, the last step is for you to pack all of your stuff and escape this crappy place! Even though the new place is not fancy or huge, it’s already good enough for you.

    Scroll through your phone a little while to see if there are any messages left but then you get interrupted by a noise beside you, you let out a yelp as you quickly get up to your defensive position and check out for any threat just to realize it’s a little kitten who seems to be lost, you absorbing its appearance, it still seems to be in a good condition? Who the hell would let their pet roam around like this? Push away your thoughts, and you realize that the cat, is a ragdoll cat, one of your favorite breeds because of their fluffy and soft fur that definitely becomes a perfect cuddle buddy, also their beauty is one of a kind, its gorgeous ocean eyes matched perfectly with their perfect white fur coat that been highlighted by the brunette color on its face, ears, and tails.

    Its owner wouldn’t mind if I pet it a little right? With the approval of your own get closer to it and get onto your knees as you feel its fur, purrfect, it’s just as good as your imagination, soft, fluffy warm, and absolutely adorable! It’s snuggling into your palm right now! Omg, your little heart can’t handle this level of cuteness! 

    Burying all your worries into this little furry, you, once again, are disrupted by the rustling sound coming from the bushes nearby, you tense up as the sound gets closer, and the kitten suddenly runs in that direction as the person finally coming to view, your eyes widen when you see their presence, a skeleton?

      Well, you’re not surprised about the fact that they are a monster, you’re not that outdated and you already knew that monsters already released from the mountain some time ago, like a few months already, but this is the first time you've seen a skeleton monster, so you guess they’re not common then? But then you were taken back by their voice.

    “KITTY! FINALLY FOUND YOU! I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU EVERYWHERE!”

   Their voice was rather…loud than most majority of people, as you finally got a closer look at them…him? While he’s busy lecturing his own cat for god sake, wait, can monsters speak to animals? Anyway, he’s wearing simple clothes, with his oversized grey sweatshirt that has “cool dude” written on it and white trousers, highlighted by his blue bandana and gloves also he seems to be at least a head shorter than you.

    You feel your body tense up a little more as you feel his blue glowing eyes light fixed on you making your brows furrowed as you stand up, you think it’s for the best that you ignore him, you’re not really in the mood for conversation right now not like you ever were, you were about to turn around, to check on the engine again, the loud voice call out to you.

    “OH MY! WHERE ARE MY MANNERS, I DIDN’T NOTICE THAT YOU WERE THERE MISS, I’M SO SORRY FOR ANY TROUBLE THAT MY CAT CAUSED FOR YOU!”

    You really need an earplug right now, this guy definitely has no control over his volume at all! You groan as you debate whether to reply or not, weighing your words as you speak up.

    “Don’t worry about it, your cat didn’t do anything”

    Well as bland as it sounds, it is the best answer you could ever give to a stranger anyway. But the problem is this guy seems to not get the hint as he beams, seriously?

     “I’M GLAD, HUMAN! YOU SEE, MY CAT HAS BEEN RUNNING AWAY A BIT MUCH RECENTLY, I AND THE OTHERS TRIED EVERYTHING WE COULD BUT THIS SNEAKY LITTLE THING ALWAYS MANAGED TO FIND A NEW METHOD TO GET PAST OUR SIGHTS!”

    And then, this guy kept on blabbering about some other unrelated stuff, ugh, as you notice that the guy is completely lost in his own presentation, you decide to take this opportunity to quickly get inside your van, and turn on the engine, come on! please work already! You feel your van buzzing up, yes! finally! Give yourself a proud invisible clap, and you drove away, leaving the little skeleton and his cat alone.

    “CAN’T YOU BELIEVE IT?! THE SURFACE IS SO HUGE LIKE IT’S ENDLESS! ALSO MY BRO AND I- OH WAIT I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO INTRODUCE MYSELF DID I? AHEM! MY NAME IS S- I MEAN BLUE! I USED TO BE A ROYAL GUARD BACK IN UNDERGROUND BEFORE… wellalotofthingshad happenedthatswhyI’mendeduphere. ANYWAYS WHAT IS YOUR NAME, DEAR HUMAN?”

    He waits for a few moments but it’s just completely silence, as he opens his eyesocket to take a look around, there is no sign of the human from before, is he hallucinating? Or they left… Well, it’s understandable, to be honest, it’s not like anyone would have enough patience for him blabbering all day anyway, another day of trying to befriend a human and failing once again, with a heavy sigh and disappointment in his soul he decides to get home since it’s late already.

    “LET’S GO HOME KITTEN, EVERYONE IS WAITING- KITTEN?!”

    His voice became panicky as he realized his cat run away, again, guessed it’d be a long night then.

You arrived sooner than expected, you drove your van around the parking lot to find your usual parking slot just to realize it had been taken!? Who the fuck dare- Wait a minute…That symbol on the car, it feels like you have seen it somewhere…

Shit.

Your mind is racing and you can feel your adrenaline running high but a loud thud on top of you snaps you out of it, you immediately look up and see your van roof has been ripped off, fuck you need to get out of here fast-

Clunk

A loud noise deafening your hearing, at that moment, was nothing but blinding light but at least you managed to jump out of your van with the little time that you had to save your ass. Groaning in pain as you try to lift up your heavy body and lean against the car next to you, you look down at your body, there is no sign of heavy injuries just a few scratches and bruises, those won’t hold you back against the fight you are about to unwillingly participate in.

Tap Tap Tap

“Speak of the devil, took you long enough to find me, and that long-time-no-see gift is a one-of-a-kind” A chuckle left your mouth as you spoke, you need to stay calm, distract her, and buy as much time as possible.

“Your old trick won’t be helping you this time, traitor ” Her words like a knife strike through your heart, you don’t want to be reminded of what happened, what done is done.

“Aw c’mon smile for me Clo-” You didn’t get a chance to finish your sentence as a dagger sliced through your cheek, making you stiff as you felt your blood trailing down to your neck.

“ Dont.You.Dare.Call.Me.That ” She stressed each word, even though she’s wearing a mask, you bet you can still sense her anger from miles away. “Also, do me a favor and stop acting friendly, you disgusted me” She snarled but then her expression returned to neutral “You sure are very cautious about everything huh? Took us 4 damn months just to find you, it makes me wonder how long have you spent on that dirty plan of yours, all that information that you gave us about yourself, I doubt those are even real” She took out her bat as she says nonchalantly “I wish I could kill you right now but boss want you alive and whole, but oh well, you don’t deserve a quick death after all” She charges at you and aim for your head but you manage to quickly dodge it just to feel a wave of electric surge through your body from behind you as you collapse to the floor.

“I see… you aren't coming here alone at all huh?” You try to keep your voice steady as you speak, but your vision becomes blurry as time passes, you don’t think you can keep up any longer. You can feel her looking down at you, you can see it all in her beautiful emerald eyes, pity, pain, hurt, anger, so many emotions mixed together from the eyes you used to adore as one of your gems. Your gaze follows her as she turns away from you, the person from behind begins to tie you up, and you let out a sigh “You still haven’t learned anything huh?”. Your feet quickly meet their jaw as they stumbled back in pain, you take the chance to pull out your pocket knife and make a deep cut on their throat, immediately killing them. Swirling the knife in your hand as you wipe the blood from off your face, watching her expression as you do so “Don’t ever turn your back against your opponent”.

“And you still that cold-hearted beast from before huh? Too stubborn to change?” She rolls her eyes.

“But that’s the reason why I got hired in the first place” You give her a small smile “Tell the old guy to stop following me, also, please bank me back to repair the old thing, you know that is the only good stuff I got left right?”. She simply glares at you and walks past you just to stop when she's a few inches away. 

“You know that I hate you, right?”

Your eyes widen in surprise at her question, you bite your lower lip as you speak up “I know…”

“You also know that I won’t ever forgive you for what you have done, right?”

“I know”

“Don’t ever forgive yourself for what has happened”

You stay silent, you only watch as she goes further and farther away from you.
