Chapter Text
Sun woke up to his alarm ringing with an ear splitting noise.
He hated that alarm. But it got him up in the mornings. He groaned as he hauled himself out of bed, it was getting harder everyday to get out of bed, but he kept going. Ignoring the growing anxiety in his chest. He took a breath and grabbed his hoodie with the daycare logo on it and his old baggy jeans. They were doing arts and crafts today so he needed something he wouldn’t care about if it got ruined.
He stretched and grabbed his phone off the charger to see no new messages. Good, he didn’t have to deal with parents emailing him with complaints from yesterday. He opened his bedside drawer and grabbed his pill bottle with a prescription that his therapist recommended to help with his hallucinations and depression.He also found that they helped with his anxiety.
He popped one in his mouth and read the back to see if he was allowed two before popping another in his mouth. None of his siblings knew about his medication and he intended to keep it that way so they wouldn’t worry, they already fretted enough with him and Lunar going to weekly therapy sessions.
He opened his door and walked down the hall and down the stairs. He walked into the kitchen and put on a pot of coffee, he used to never drink coffee but now it was the only thing keeping him from collapsing. He yawned, taking a sip of his coffee, leaning against the island as Earth walked through the door, in her usual get up with a light green skirt and white top, a few necklaces with references to Barbie and my little pony with a few Barbie clips in her hair.
She had moved in with Sun, Moon and Lunar afew months ago and honestly she was a great help. Always clean and tidy and she really helped Lunar cope with his trauma of almost being murdered by his “brother” half a year ago. They all had adopted Lunar as their brother shortly after. “Hi sun.” She smiled, grabbing a capri-sun from the fridge. She and Lunar both liked capri-suns to a concerning degree but it wasn’t hurting anyone so Sun made sure to keep a good stock in the fridge for them. Sun took another sip of his coffee and smiled at his sister, “Hey,”
Earth sat down on the stools around the island, sipping from her capri-sun pouch. “Is Lunar up yet?” Sun asked, downing his coffee in a few gulps. He poured another cup. Earth shook her head, “I came in and they threw a fit so I just let him sleep for a bit.” Sun nodded, gulping his coffee again, he knew Moon wouldn’t be awake, his twin always slept until 2pm then worked until midnight then practically went into a coma. He needed to fix his sleep schedule. Moon didn’t work at the daycare anymore, it was just Earth and Sun, with Lunar coming and helping out even though he didn’t work there considering they’re only 13.
Earth watched as sun chugged the rest of his coffee, he still wasn’t feeling the effect of the caffeine and began to pour himself another cup. “Sun I don’t think that much coffee is healthy-“ He hummed in agreement as he started drinking his third cup. Earth sighed and sipped her capri-sun. “I’m going to wake Moon then Lunar.” Sun sighed, finishing his coffee and placing the mug in the sink.
He walked up the stairs and down the hall to his twins bedroom, it was across the hall from his. He gave it a knock and waited a few seconds before slowly opening the door to see a disheveled Moon sprawled all across his bed, his work bench covered in scrap metal and tools lying everywhere. Sun could feel his anxiety and OCD spike at the sight but he was used to it looking like this at this point. He sighed and carefully made his way through the maze of tools and scrap metal to his brother's bed. Moon was in a baggy t-shirt and shorts, he still had his beanie on which he refused to take off. Ever.
Sun shook Moon gently receiving a disgruntled groan from his twin. “Come on Moon, we gotta get your sleep schedule right..” Moon opened his eyes groggily staring up at Sun, “let me sleeeeeeppp” He complained, rolling over. Sun sighed and rolled up his sleeves. He knew it would come to this. Sun grabbed the blanket from Moon and shoved it away from him which earned an unhappy groan from Moon. Sun grabbed Moon's ankles and dragged him over to him and picked him up, putting him over his shoulder. Moon let out a sound of protest before just accepting fate and basically falling back asleep over Suns shoulder.
As Sun walked down the hall with Moon over his shoulder Lunar opened his door and stared at the twins and Sun walked down the stairs. “Morning Lunar!”Sun said in his normal chipper voice, Moon let a groggy good morning to their little brother as he was manhandled down the stairs. Lunar just yawned, not thinking much of it before walking down the stairs after them, spigot in their arms.
Lunar walked into the kitchen to see Moon standing upright but still looking asleep and Sun grabbing a cup of coffee. One of Sun’s cats was rubbing against Moon’s legs before getting bored and going back upstairs. Earth smiled and handed Lunar a capri-sun which they gladly accepted, taking a few sips. “Sun, that is your fourth cup, put it down!” Earth scolded, attempting to grab the mug from Sun, he dogged her and started chugging the coffee, Moon suddenly spring to life and grabbed the mug, and the pot of coffee that was still half full and pouring down the sink.
“My coffee!” Sun pouted, crossing his arms, “what a waste!” Moon shrugged, grabbing some water from the tap and thrusting it at his twin. “Drink.”
Sun sighed, gulping down the water and placing the glass in the sink. “Time to go, Moon if we get back and you're back in bed I’m changing your steam account password.”
Moon let out a dramatic gasp, “you wouldn’t dare!”
“Oh I would!” Sun called, grabbing the car keys from the bowl in the hall and his daycare bag which he had prepped the night before, Moon let out a groan as they all left the house and walked to the car. Earth hopped in the passenger seat and Lunar sat in the back. Sun hopped into the car and started it, “Everyone got everything?”
“Yup” Earth and Lunar said together.

Well that was an eventful day. Sun thought to himself as he started closing the daycare.
Earth and Lunar were out waiting in the car and Sun was closing up the daycare. The kids had been good today, besides one of them putting slime onto Lunars arm and causing him to have a meltdown. Earth had gotten them their nice hoodie and his ear defenders after that. Sun sighed as he walked back to the car and started it. “Everyone okay?” Sun asked, staring at Lunar through the rear view mirror. He had his ear defenders on and was fiddling with Spigot's horns, they nodded absentmindedly, kicking his legs back and forth happily.
Earth hummed a yes, she was texting someone on her phone, probably Monty, Sun thought. He sighed and drove out of the daycare parking lot. They were halfway home when Earth spoke up again. “Monty’s at the house by the way, She was bored and wanted to annoy Moon apparently.” Sun nodded, tapping his fingers on the wheel of the car. “She better not have eaten all the leftovers in the fridge..” he said quietly.
Earth let out a small giggle.
They arrived home a few minutes later, Sun opened the door and let Lunar and Earth inside, One of his Cats, Comet, started meowing loudly, running up to Sun and practically crawling up his leg. Sun smiled and picked him up, letting the cat cuddle into his arms. He walked into the kitchen to see Monty and Moon in the middle of arm wrestling. Monty was obviously much stronger than Moon but she let him win. Moon threw his arms up into the air in victory.
“Take that Lizard brain!” Moon sneered, Monty let out a chuckle before turning her attention to Earth, Earth walked over and placed a kiss on her cheek before grabbing two capri-suns and handing one to lunar before opening her own. “Do you want anything?” She asked between sips. “No thanks Hon.” she said smiling, before turning to Lunar, who was still partially non-verbal. “What’s good little man?” She smiled, patting spigot as a substitute for patting Lunar, she could always tell when they didn’t want to be touched.
Lunar smiled, sitting on the closest available chair and sipped at his capri-sun. Sun sighed, stroking his cat, he turned and left the kitchen and trudged up to his room, he placed his cat in the cat bed that was on his bed before closing the door. He let out a sigh and rubbed his eyes. He was exhausted, at least tomorrow was a Saturday, no daycare tomorrow. He started hitting the side of his head for a few moments before laying down on his bed, the pain then registered but he ignored it.
He stared at the ceiling for a good forty minutes before slowly drifting off to sleep, both his cats laying on his chest.

Moon stretched in his chair, staring at the raw metal scraps he had left over. He was tired but he promised Sun he’d stay up until at least 7 or 8 to fix his sleep schedule and it was only 5.
Moon stood up and left his room, walking down the stairs and into the kitchen where he grabbed some pot noodles and shoved it into the microwave. He could see Earth, Monty and Lunar watching a movie on the couch from the kitchen door with Lunar sitting on Monty’s lap and Earth snuggling up beside her. While his noodles were microwaving he walked over and leaned against the door frame to see what they were watching.
They were watching one of the my little pony movies which caught Moon's attention for a good minute before going back to retrieve his noodles. He walked back, noodles in hand and leaned against the door frame again, slurping at his noodles. “Hey, have you seen Sun?I haven’t seen him since we got back from the daycare.” Earth asked Moon after a few minutes, Moon shook his head, slurping up the last of his noodles.
“He’s probably in his room, I’ll go check” Moon turned around walking back through the kitchen, putting the empty noodle pot in the bin before heading up the stairs and towards Sun’s room. He knocked on the door and heard no reply. He opened the door gently and peered inside to see sun, half laying on the bed as if he’d fallen on it and fell asleep as soon as he hit the bed, he probably did, and his cats curled up around him. Moon sighed and walked over shaking Sun alittle. Sun let out a groan and sat up straight rubbing his eyes.
“And you're complaining that I need to stay awake during the day!” Moon jokes, sun placed his cats on the ground and stood up stretching. “Yeah yeah I know, today was just a little much okay?” He looked exhausted, Moon looked at him sympathetically, patting his back before leaving the room. “Want any food?” Moon called back before he left.
Sun shook his head, staring at his watch. “I’m not hungry but thanks.” Moon looked worriedly at his twin for a moment. “I didn’t see you have breakfast, are you sure?” Sun nodded smiling with his normal enthusiasm, “yeah! I had.. Lunch so I’m okay! Not hungry yet.” Moon sighed and left the room, closing the door behind him and heading back down the stairs.

Earth woke up on the sitting room couch, cuddled up to Monty who was holding a sleepy Lunar. They all must have fallen asleep while they were watching the movie last night. She turned her gaze around the room to see Moon slumped over the side of the couch in a position that didn’t seem comfortable, Moon has always been flexible and can sleep in any position without it being uncomfortable.
Earth stood up and grabbed a sleepy Lunar from Monty’s arms, letting their head rest on her shoulder as she brought them up to his room, placing them in their bed gently, pulling the covers over his sleeping form. She sighed and walked back down the stairs to the living room and grabbed Moon as well. He’s a deep sleeper and didn’t even stir as Earth hauled him over her shoulder and up the stairs to his room. He hadn’t changed out of his pajamas all day so she just laid him on the bed and pulled the covers over him.
She smiled and went back down the stairs to see Monty still sleeping peacefully on the couch. Earth let out a chuckle and walked over to her partner, placing a couple kisses on their cheek before laying them down sideways along the couch letting their head rest on the couch cushions. She placed a kiss on their forehead before retreating to the kitchen to grab a capri-sun.
She checks the clock in the kitchen to see that it’s 6 am. Usually Sun likes to wake up early but she’ll just let him sleep however he likes today. He earned it. Moon on the other hand… she wasn't sure if she should wake him or not as Sun wants to fix his sleep schedule… she’ll wait until Sun wakes up.
She took a few sips of her capri-sun before retreating up the stairs into her room to play animal crossing.

Sun woke up stiff and sore.
He turned his head to his bedside clock to see it was 10 am. He never sleeps this late, but the thought of getting out of bed was unbearable. No matter what he told himself he couldn’t get out of bed. He sighed, turning over in bed and going back to sleep.
He wakes up again, to see it’s 1pm.
He still can’t get up, but he’s not tired so he grabs his phone from his bedside table and just watches old videos from his and Moon's YouTube channel. He has no idea how long he sits there before he hears the familiar chuckle of blood moon beside him.
He groans, opening his bedside table and grabbing his pill bottle. “Oh sunny~” Bloodmoon chuckled, looming over Sun menacingly. Sun popped two pills in his mouth and turned away from the hallucination, it would take a bit for the pills to work so he just had to distract himself from Bloodmoons taunts and snide comments.
He put his hands over his ears, tugging at them slightly trying to block out the noise. He had never meant to kill Bloodmoon, it was in self-defense. The only thing the court told him to do was go to therapy, considering the fact it was all in self-defense.It’s Ironic that Bloodmoon was also related to Eclipse, Lunars older brother had tried to kill him and made their lives miserable since they met him.
Bloodmoons comments kept coming for another 20 minutes before slowly becoming a background noise, until it was completely gone. Good, he didn’t have to deal with Bloodmoon again today. He rolled over in bed again, opening his phone and continuing the video he was watching. Time seemed to stop, Sun curled up in a ball under his covers, scrolling through socials and watching the channel's videos over and over and over again. He had no idea how much time passed before he heard a knock on the door. He ignored it, curling up farther into his blanket. He heard his door being opened but he couldn't see who it was. He just ignored it and closed his eyes, before feeling a tap on his shoulder. “Brother, you okay?” It was Moon's voice.
Sun slowly emerged from the covers, rubbing his eyes softly. “Yeah I’m good” Moon didn’t look convinced, his gaze slowly shifted over to Sun's bedside table. Shit. He’d left his medication on the desk. Sun internally cursed himself out as Moon picked up the bottle, the cap was off as Sun had forgotten to put it back on after panicking to grab it when Bloodmoon appeared.
Sun sunk back under the covers, he couldn’t care anymore. He just felt numb. Moon sat down on the bed and put a hand on Sun’s side gently. “You wanna talk about it?” He asked, reading the back of the pills bottle. Sun stayed silent, watching his twin read the bottle. “When did you get these?” Sun sighed, digging deeper into his bed sheets. “A few weeks ago, it’s nothing, don’t worry about it.”
Moon didn’t look convinced, “these are antidepressants, right?” Sun shrugged, “they're for my hallucinations, but yeah antidepressants.” Moon placed the bottle back down and crossed his legs on the bed. “Are they working?” He asked softly, Sun slowly started to emerge from the covers again, popping his head out. “For the hallucinations, yeah. They kinda help with my anxiety but it only really helps get rid of blood moon.”
Moon let out a breath, “you could have told us you know, we wouldn’t have judged you.” Moon stated. Sun sighed, flipping onto his back.
“I know, I just didn’t want you guys to worry, the fact that it’s so bad I need medication is sad on its own without you guys fussing over me.”
“I literally have ADHD medication that I always forget to take, you and Earth are the only reason I actually take them, some people need medication. And that’s fine, it just helps speed up your recovery process.”
Sun sighed, nodding, he knew all this, he just didn’t want them to worry. “I’ll tell Earth about it later..” Moon hummed in agreement, letting Sun get comfortable again.
“I’m guessing your not getting up for another good while, but your getting up once its 3.” Moon scolded, patting suns back. Sun hummed in agreement, already feeling himself drifting off. “Okay budge over.” Moon huffed, climbing beside Sun. “Wha-“
“Shush, I’m tired and if your sleeping so am I.” Moon curled up beside Sun, wrapping his arms around his twin, Sun found comfort in his presence, getting comfortable before drifting off to sleep again.
