Kaeya looks up at the sky, staring at the empty blackness. He shifts his hand to the side to gently tap Ajax’s mask that’s resting on the ground. He smiles, letting the soft breeze hit his face.

K - “You know what’s weird? The sky never shines at night. There’s never any stars.”

A small chuckle comes from the orange haired man beside him, Ajax leaning to the side so that him and Kaeya’s shoulders are touching.

A - “All the stars I need to see are in your eyes.”

Kaeya lets out a laugh, punching Ajax in the shoulder slightly before relaxing once more. The two would go back and forth flirting like this for hours, just enjoying eachothers company when possible.

Kaeya makes the trek up starsnatch cliff again, somewhat relieved to be looking back up at the sky with his boyfriend. He sits down, letting his legs dangle over the edge as he leans backward on his hands. There’s a soft smile on his face, which fades after a moment. He places Ajax’s mask on the ground beside him, which was something that his boyfriend would do frequently when they visited together. The past few years dealing with the grief of witnessing Ajax die have been eating away at him, but at least he completed everything that they promised they’d do together. Even if he did it alone. He takes Ajax’s earring out of his pocket, along with taking his earring off. He holds the two pieces of jewellery in his hand as he stares up at the sky. It’s lonely doing this by himself, the vast empty black sky staring back at him. He takes his eyepatch off, tying it around the deceased fatui members red mask, placing a calla lily on the top, keeping the two earrings in his hand.

It’s been a while since then, Kaeya going missing around three years after Ajax’s death. The two seemed like they were fated to be together with how they acted towards one another, it’s no surprise that Ajax’s death ate away at him. His dead body was found washed up on the shore of the beach underneath starsnatch cliff, him and Ajax’s earrings tucked into his glove so that they’d remain on his person.

I wonder if they were reunited in the afterlife, happily living out the rest of eternity together.

I’m not sure. All I know is that I miss my brother.
