Chapter Text
*Hey, guys. Since a Dragon Ball GT/Wakfu crossover hasn't really been done before, I decided to experiment with the idea and try something new. I've been getting into more of the Wakfu/Dofus franchise lately, so I hope you enjoy this new crossover.
It was the end of an era. After successfully using the Super Ultra Spirit Bomb to destroy Omega Shenron, the most powerful source of evil in the known universe, Son Goku decided to leave with both Shenron and the Dragon Balls themselves. No one, not even his closest friends, knew exactly where Earth's protector was going, but it was obvious that he would be gone for quite a long time. It was the main reason he said goodbye to Master Roshi, Krillin, and, finally, Piccolo, before his departure.
Some of his loved ones, however, assumed that his return was pretty much inevitable. After all, no matter how many times he died, Goku always found a way to come back somehow.
One of them was his eleven-year-old granddaughter, Pan. She was a young, ¼ Saiyan girl with short black hair, a red shirt, and gray pants. She also wore similar colored gloves that covered her knuckles and wrists.
She looked down at the tattered remains of her grandpa's blue gi in confusion. The outfit was caught underneath some rocks as she brought it closer to her face to inspect it.
"How come? I'm sure that Grandpa just left together with Shenron…" Pan whispered to herself.
It was then that she noticed the presence of someone else nearby. She looked over to see Vegeta standing in his battle-worn tank top and jeans.
"Make sure you hold that dear."
The Saiyan Prince had a solemn, almost neutral expression on his face. It wasn't a face of sadness or anger like usual; just… acceptance. He then flew into the sky and left without another word.
Pan, fully taking in the weight of Vegeta's statement, tightly clutched Goku's gi. She then slightly lowered it to look up into the sky, wondering where and when she'd see her beloved grandfather again.
"Grandpa…"
Somewhere above the clouds, the world's aforementioned savior was riding atop Shenron's green, scaly head. The seven Dragon Balls all spun around him as he laid down and finally, after so many years of fighting strong opponents, took some time to rest. He closed his eyes and smiled contentedly.
"Sure is warm on Shenron's back…"
One by one, the Dragon Balls then entered multiple parts of Goku's body. This process continued until the Four-Star Ball, the one ball that has been with him since the beginning, even in the form of Nuova Shenron, merged with his very soul.
Upon making contact with his smiling face, Goku himself merged with Shenron as the legendary Eternal Dragon ascended into the air and let out one last, powerful roar.
"GRRRAAGGH!"
He then vanished in a blinding flash of light, leaving Earth, the 7th Universe, and its people behind.
Now, it was time for Goku and the Dragon Balls to save another world from potential peril. And this world, unlike Earth, was named after twelve deities responsible for its creation.
5 years later…
Although time continued to pass on, Goku didn't age a day. Merging with Shenron somehow managed to make him immortal, so he could train to his heart's content without fear of getting tired or hungry. He, of course, did miss eating food, especially Chi-Chi's cooking, but as Shenron tried to explain to him, Goku no longer had any physical attachment to the Earth. His friends, family, and allies would all grow old while he, as a consequence of sacrificing himself to kill Omega Shenron, would not.
He would be inexorably tied to the Dragon Balls until Earth had proven itself of worthy of their wish-granting powers again. This could either take a few years or an entire century depending on the type of path Earth's inhabitants wished to take.
Goku felt a little bummed out by this fact. Mainly because being immortal was, in all honesty, pretty boring. All he could really do was train in some giant white void Shenron considered his "home dimension" or domain. He mentioned something about there being a similar place called the Blank Dimension somewhere, but the Saiyan man-turned-child dozed off during most of that explanation. Lectures, after all, were never his cup of tea.
At the moment, Goku was lying down on the floor with a bored look on his face. Shenron, on the other hand, decided to coil himself around somewhere and inspect the seven Dragon Balls for any damages.
"Hey, Shenron. You said five years have passed since we left Earth, right?" He asked.
"Yes. It may appear like only a few hour have passed in this dimension, but much like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, time moves differently here." Shenron explained in a deep, booming voice. "But nothing of note has really happened on Earth, I'm afraid, so don't get any ideas about wishing to go back there. The world doesn't deserve our return yet."
"Yeah, I know, I know. But it makes me wonder…" Goku muttered. "…where exactly this… erm… dimension we're in is. Wasn't Kami the one who created you before Dende took over as Guardian?"
The dragon flew closer to Goku, shaking his head. "Not exactly. I simply inhabit the model that Namekians like Kami and Dende craft for me. While it is technically true that I was "killed" by Demon King Piccolo at one point, I merely went back to this dimension to recover until a new model was created. In a way, I don't exist because of the Dragon Balls. The Dragon Balls were able to exist because of me."
The Saiyan pointed to the seven orange orbs in Shenron's possession. "So, is that why you were able to take the Dragon Balls away without Dende's permission?"
"That is correct. All Eternal Dragons preside within a universe outside of the one their respective Dragon Balls inhabit. I, Porunga, Ultimate Shenron, and even the evil Black Smoke Shenron all originate from a shared birthplace known simply as… the Krosmoz."
"Krosmoz?"
Shenron nodded. "Before time began and your universe was even born, the first Dragon Balls and their creator, Zalama, existed within this realm. Not much is known about him, but he is the progenitor of both Namekians, my race, the Eternal Dragons, and most dragons as a whole."
Goku, much to the dragon's chagrin, looked completely lost.
"Did you even understand a word I just said?"
"Nope! Not a thing." The martial artist chuckled. He then adopted a more serious expression. "Though, what I did understand is that this Zalama guy is pretty strong… and maybe even a whole lot stronger than Omega Shenron was."
"I'm afraid that's a huge understatement. There are forces outside of your own universe that you have yet to fully comprehend, Goku." Shenron explained. "For that reason, I believe the time is right for you to continue your training in a more… proactive sense."
The boy motioned for him to elaborate. "And that means…?"
"It means that the two of us will be exploring the Krosmoz's version of Earth, the World of 12. The people living there are in desperate need for someone to protect them… and you, Son Goku, are just purehearted enough to fulfill that role."
Goku pointed at himself in surprise.
"Why me? Not saying that exploring a new world wouldn't be fun or anything, but I'm immortal, right? Would some of the threats there even be able to give me a proper challenge?"
Shenron snorted. "Immortality doesn't equate to invincibility Goku. There are gods present in the multiverse that can live for eternity, yet still be defeated in combat. Just look at… er… Beerus the Destroyer, for example. He lost many times before acquiring the level of power a God of Destruction usually possesses."
For a second, Goku almost could have sworn he saw Shenron look terrified at the mere mention of this 'Beerus' guy. That's an emotion he never expected a huge, fearsome dragon like him to feel.
"Beerus? God of Destruction? What are you talking about?"
"N-Never mind that right now! The point is that you still have room to grow stronger! There will always be someone stronger than you in this multiverse, so it's best to be prepared." Shenron advised with a cautious tone in his voice. "Besides, in order to travel to the World of Twelve, you'll need to possess a mortal body again. I'll be able to grant you one with the Dragon Balls."
Goku rested a hand on his chin in thought.
"Huh. Guess that doesn't sound too bad. It would be nice to have my adult body again outside of Super Saiyan 4 and what not." He muttered. "Will you be coming with me, Shenron?"
"Well, seeing as you, the Dragon Balls, and myself are all merged together now, then yes, I will be accompanying you to the World of Twelve. However, I'll be keeping myself hidden inside your body until I'm able to properly construct a physical body to walk around in."
"Makes sense. You'd be too big as you are now. Hehe." Goku chuckled.
Shenron sighed, rather than laugh along with the Saiyan warrior. A dragon like him probably wasn't even capable of laughter, anyway.
"Although, before we depart, I need to remind you of something, Goku."
"Yeah?"
"While you might have your original body back now, you are not, under any circumstances, allowed to see your friends and family again on Earth. That part of your life is behind you now." Shenron growled with fully narrowed red eyes. "Is that clear?"
Goku stood there in silence for a moment or two. He looked down at the floor and grimaced, thinking back to all the adventures he had back on Earth. It was then that he realized how much he would miss Bulma, Krillin, Master Roshi, Vegeta, Chi-Chi, and the others.
Sadly, like Shenron said, all those past memories were simply that, memories. He needed to move and find something new to fight for. Maybe he'd be able to make new friends along the way too… if the World of Twelve's inhabitants were friendly that is.
He melancholically smiled and nodded in agreement to Shenron's terms. "Yeah. I understand…"
"Very well then. Let us go now."
Glowing in tandem with Shenron's red eyes, the Dragon Balls lit up with yellow energy and reentered Goku's body. The two companions then vanished in a flash of light and teleported from this empty void to the eponymous World of Twelve.
Somewhere in the World of Twelve…
Many miles away from the small village of Emelka, a strange woman wearing a black dress stood. She had green skin, yellow eyes, and two long horns that resided atop her head. Two wings, one an angelic white and the other a more draconic purple, were folded along her back like some type of cloak as well.
She stood there in an eloquent manner, seemingly anticipating the arrival of someone or something that might be to her benefit. She pursed her black lips and looked from side to side.
Strange. I was under the impression that he'd be here by now.
Suddenly, to her surprise, massive storm clouds began to form above her head. A yellow lightning bolt then struck the ground and transported a young, spiky-haired boy, Son Goku, there in mere seconds.
She smirked at how perfectly timed that appearance was. Must be some sort of divine intervention on the gods' part. As always…
The woman used her wings to thrust herself further away from where Goku was standing. She wanted to make a good first impression for her so-called "person of interest".
Goku didn't take notice of her at first. He was too busy getting a good, hard look at this new world.
"Wow. There sure are a lot more forests than there were back home."
Shenron spoke within his subconscious as a disembodied voice. "The World of Twelve isn't as technologically advanced as Earth, Goku. While certain races are proficient in scientific study and experimentation, most of the cities aren't as developed as say… West City, for example. You'll get used to it, I'm sure."
"I mean, I never used technology that much to begin with, so I should be fine." Goku shrugged. "How are you talking to me like that, by the way?"
"As I explained before, the Dragon Balls and I are contained within your body. I can speak with you telepathically like this, because for the most part, our minds, bodies, and souls are linked together as one."
"Ah, I see. Sort of like how Kami and Piccolo fused together, right?" Goku asked.
"You can put if like that, yes. However, unlike them, our 'fusion' is temporary. I'll eventually develop a humanoid body like the other dragons have in this world."
The martial artist suddenly thought of Shenron having the body of Porunga, but human-sized. Such a possibility seemed weird to him.
"Wait, dragons can look like people here?"
"Yes," The woman interjected with an ominous grin on her face. "They indeed can, Son Goku. I should know… I'm part dragon myself."
Goku blinked a few times in response. Judging from the odd energy that this lady was giving off, she seemed to be pretty powerful, but nowhere near as strong as him.
"Do you know who this is, Shenron?" He whispered under his breath.
"No but keep your guard up just in case."
He nodded and stood in a tentative fighting stance. "Alright, Lady. Who are you and how do you know my name?"
The woman held up her hands and attempted to soothe the boy's worries. "No need to be so hostile, Goku. I just wanted to welcome you to the World of Twelve. That's all."
"You didn't answer my questions." Goku grunted.
"Spoken like an experienced warrior." She chuckled and held a hand over her chest. "My name is Lady Echo and I am a demigoddess born to the goddess, Eniripsa. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Saiyan of the 7th Universe."
Goku's face scrunched up in confusion. Shenron could hear all sorts of questions popping up in his mind, but he didn't dare answer them until this Echo person left. There was something clearly off about her.
"I've never heard of you or any of those things before…"
"Ah, but I have heard a quite deal about you. Tales of your many battles and exploits have traveled far along the Krosmoz. You could say that you've become quite a legend in your own right, my dear Goku." Echo explained. "Although, admittedly, I didn't expect you to have the body of a child. He neglected to mention that detail…"
She rested a hand under her chin and inspected Goku's body from top to bottom.
"Your Wakfu levels are just as impressive as I anticipated, however. And they might even have the potential to increase even further."
"Wakfu? Are you talking about my ki?" Goku asked.
"Different words, same general concept, yes." She said with a nonchalant shrug of her shoulders. She then looked off into the distance and frowned. "But I'm afraid our conversation must be cut short for today. I apologize for that."
To Goku's puzzlement, she knelt down and kindly patted him on the head. He didn't even know what to say in response to that action.
"I bid you adieu for now, Son Goku. I'm interested to see what kind of impact you'll leave on this world compared to yours." Echo stated. "Until we meet again."
"Wait a minute! I—"
Before he could finish talking, Echo unfolded her wings and ascended into the air at faster-than-average speeds. She was now gone without a trace.
Goku squinted his eyes in order to catch a glimpse of Echo's position in the sky. He couldn't see anything at all, unfortunately.
"Huh. That was weird." He muttered. "I didn't even know I was from the 7th Universe."
Now that the coast was clear, Shenron felt comfortable enough to resume their past conversation.
"You are, in fact. There are twelve known universes and an additional thirteenth where the Krosmoz presides." The Eternal Dragon replied. "How that Eniripsa demigoddess knew this information is beyond me, though. She must be in contact with someone who knows about you."
"What exactly is an Eniripsa? Do you know?"
"They're a species of fairy-like people with incredible healing abilities and a mastery over all language. Each of the twelve gods have a respective race named after them. Apart from Eniripsa, there's Cra, Ecaflip, Enutrof, Feca, Iop, Osamodas, Pandawa, Sacrier, Sadida, Sram, and finally, Xelor."
Goku was getting dizzy just thinking about all of those strange names. "I'm probably not gonna remember all of that, but thanks for the explanation, Shenron."
"I figured as much. You'll probably be more familiar with these races once you meet some of them."
"I hope so." The Saiyan sighed. He then came up with a crazy, yet potentially fun idea. "Hey, now that I have a mortal body again, do you mind if I cut loose and test out my new power level? We have been training for five years in that empty dimension of yours, after all."
Shenron felt a bit hesitant to let him do this. He might split the whole planet apart just through charging up alone.
"Are you sure you want to take that kind of risk, Goku? You may be familiar with your level of strength, but the inhabitants of this world are not. You could cause untold amounts of damage in the process."
He smiled and brushed aside the dragon's worries. "Nah. I'll be careful. I ain't a master martial artist for nothing, you know?"
Shenron didn't trust Goku's words for a second, but there was no use arguing against him. He could be quite stubborn depending on the situation.
"Don't say I didn't warn you then…"
The young Saiyan simply beamed in response and crouched down.
"Alright then! Here goes!" He shouted before releasing all of his latent ki like a massive typhoon. "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
The entire World of Twelve began to shake uncontrollably as a golden, electric aura engulfed Goku's small frame. With each passing moment, his muscles pulsated and expanded in size until the ground beneath him caved in and broke into what seemed like a million tiny pieces. He continued to scream as loud as possible whilst growing in height, weight, and overall power.
Once he was finally back to his true adult self, Goku now sported yellow pants, blue shoes, and, most distinct of all, red fur all over his upper body. His black hair was also significantly spikier and now covered his entire head. His eyes were golden yellow with red eyeliner instead of the usual black too.
It was in that utterly chaotic, yet short moment that the World of Twelve was introduced to Goku's most fearsome transformation, Super Saiyan 4. He clenched and unclenched his fists with a confident smirk.
"Hmph. Not bad." Goku said in a deeper, more gravelly voice. "Maintaining Super Saiyan 4 seems almost effortless now."
From inside his mind, Shenron inspected the damages caused by Goku's transformation. The entire landscape, to his dismay, was leveled and trashed to all hell.
"You call this careful?" He glowered.
"Oh, lighten up. There wasn't anyone nearby, so no one got hurt by… all that." Goku assured him. "Speaking of which, I should probably test out the 10x Kamehameha while I'm at it…"
He then cupped his hands together and aimed for a part of the sky that wasn't occupied by any animals or other avian creatures.
"Kaaa… Meee…" As he spoke, a large red sphere of ki was projected between his hands. "Haaa… Meee…"
Red pillars of energy burst forth from the sphere and spun around as Goku prepared to unleash it as one single, devastating blast.
"…HAAAAAAAA!"
The red Kamehameha Wave rocketed into the skies above Emelka and its neighboring lands, continuing to soar higher and higher until it continued its ascent into outer space. Said attack moved far too fast for any normal person to keep track of it.
Goku, feeling fairly proud of his progress thus far, took a deep breath and transformed back into his much smaller Base Form.
"Yup. I've gotten a bit stronger, alright." He chuckled. His stomach then growled out of sheer hunger. "And I think my tummy has too, Shenron. Hehe."
Shenron groaned and internally rested a claw over his face.
"There should be a village nearby. You can get something to eat there."
"Sounds good." Goku replied as he looked around for some path to follow. "What direction do we think we should go?"
"Just go straight for the time being. You wouldn't want to get lost on your first day here." Shenron instructed.
"Right."
Goku and Shenron then made their way over to Emelka to get some lunch.
As they walked away, Lady Echo floated in midair with a look of complete shock on her face. She had seen everything from his transformation into a Super Saiyan 4 to his firing of the 10x Kamehameha. It may have been from a distance, but she was still close enough to feel the awesome might of his ki.
"I-Incredible. I knew Goku was powerful, but this…" She uttered while looking at the irreparable damage his power-up caused. "…this has far exceeded my expectations."
Taking one last look at Goku's parting form, Echo frowned and pulled out a recall potion from her dress.
"I'll need to report this to Oropo immediately. Zamasu may have been right in his assumptions, after all."
She then drank the yellow liquid and dissolved into a series of small bubbles.
Unbeknownst to both Goku and Lady Echo, someone else took notice of Goku's so-called "performance" as well. A small mechanical robot was secretly recording footage of his entire transformation and the mass amounts of energy he expunged.
The robot slightly adjusted its glowing blue lens before taking flight and reporting everything it saw to its master. It also latched onto some trees and drained them of their Wakfu for good measure.
Meanwhile…
The small robot, known as a Noxine, quickly joined a large swarm of its companions. They all fluttered over to a massive bronze clock held up by spider-like legs and other similar fortifications. Each of them entered different numbers on this clock, ranging from I all the way to XII.
Inside was an archaic laboratory filled with generators that would convert the Noxines into raw Wakfu for their creator to use. The more Wakfu they harvested from outside, the more power over all time he was able to possess.
He was an ancient Xelor covered in bandages, and a suit of gray armor powered by a Wakfu-insulated core in his chest. His face was covered by an ominous-looking mask with two blue eyes designed to look like gears and the hands on a clock.
Although he once had a normal name and identity, the World of Twelve knew him today as simply Nox.
Nox stood atop a mechanical platform in the center of his fortress. He would spend hours upon hours there observing the footage his Noxines would send him. This footage was viewed through a series of large monocles that were propped up by pre-programmed claws and support systems.
He typically didn't get much enjoyment from these miscellaneous reports, but everything changed the moment he saw Goku's transformation into a Super Saiyan 4. His glowing blue eyes widened from absolute shock and euphoric glee.
"W-What in the world is this?! This energy output! It puts that foolish dragon, Grougaloragran, to shame!" Nox cried. He then clutched his head in utter disbelief. "No, that's a considerable understatement. This man is potentially worth five-hundred dragons, maybe even more!"
He took a closer look at the type of energy blast Goku released from his hands. It was red, unlike both Wakfu and Stasis's usual colors.
"Who is this strange man? He has the body of a monkey yet looks like a human being." The Xelor murmured to himself. He then witnessed Goku depower back to his shorter, child-like appearance. "And he can even change his age at will! Such a phenomenon shouldn't be possible, yet… here he is doing it!"
He narrowed his eyes and glared at the sight of Goku's smiling face.
"I must find this boy and claim his bottomless energy for my own. He alone may be the key to powering this infernal machine and traveling back in time!" Nox shouted in a mix of both hope and maniacal joy. "I just need to know where he's going…"
One projector showed Goku walking along a random path while another displayed the neighboring village of Emelka. Primary focus was placed on a small tavern and restaurant owned by Alibert, a retired Enutrof bounty hunter.
"Ah, I see. This calls for a little visit to Emelka then!" He surmised. "You better hide while you still can, monkey boy. AHAHAHAHA!"
His insane laughter then echoed off the walls of the rocky abyss that his clock fortress was enclosed in. Even in silence, its various ticks and tocks could be heard for miles, numbering the days of peace in the World of Twelve to all, but mere moments.
In Emelka…
Within a half-hour or so, Goku managed to reach his and Shenron's first destination. It was a rather small village occupied by strange-looking people that the Saiyan had never seen before. He rightfully assumed that they were part of the twelve native races that Shenron mentioned and shrugged them off.
After all, having a monkey tail wasn't exactly normal either. He might get some weird looks just by leaving it out in the open.
"Maybe I should I keep my tail hidden just in case." Goku suggested.
"That'd be wise. Saiyans aren't exactly commonplace here." Shenron agreed. "You may be considered out of the ordinary, even by their standards."
The martial artist deadpanned. "Says the massive, wish-granting dragon with antlers."
"Touché."
"Huh?"
"I meant what you said is true."
"Ohhh. Got it." Goku nodded along in sudden realization. He then wrapped the monkey tail around his waist and approached the inn's front entrance.
Upon swinging open the door, everyone turned their heads to look at him. They were surprised to see a young boy like him enter without any adult supervision. He just looked around the dining area and ignored the fact that everyone was awkwardly staring at him.
"Yo." He casually greeted. "The name's Goku. Could I get something to eat around here?"
Alibert and his old Enutrof friend, Ruel Stroud, stopped their conversation to address the young boy. He looked to be around Yugo's age, yet, somehow, acted much older
"Well, he sure knows how to make an entrance." Ruel muttered to his friend. "Not that it matters if he doesn't have any Kamas to show for it."
"It's always about money with you." Alibert sighed. He was a heavyset, yet muscular Enutrof with a long brown mustache and a large chef's hat that extended past his back. He also wore a blue-collar shirt with rolled up sleeves.
"Hmph! Would I even be an Enutrof if it wasn't?" Ruel retorted.
Alibert rolled his eyes and walked over to greet Goku. He slightly knelt down, so they were both eye-level with one another.
"Well, I haven't seen you around the village. Do you have any parents, Goku?" He asked.
Goku thought that was a pointless question, but given his physical age, he supposed it made some bit of sense.
"Nope, not really. I'm just a traveler stopping by for something to eat." He replied. "This is my first time going to… erm… uh…"
"Emelka?"
"Yep. That's it!"
The Enutrof chuckled at Goku's enthusiastic tone. He and Yugo acted so alike that it was almost too coincidental that he'd show up here.
"Haha. If it's food you want, then you've definitely come to the right place, my boy. I'll even grant you a meal free of charge." Alibert kindly offered. "Consider it my personal greeting to you as the mayor of this village."
Ruel almost fell out of his seat from disbelief. Goku, on the other hand, had practical stars shining in his eyes.
"Wow, seriously?! Thanks a bunch, Mr. Mayor!"
"Call me Alibert."
The Saiyan then sat down on the barstool next to Ruel and patiently waited for his food to be ready. The old Enutrof leaned close to Alibert with a sour expression on his face.
"So, you can give this random kid some free food, but not your old pal, Ruel?! For shame!" He hoarsely whispered.
Alibert rested a hand on his chin in knowing disinterest.
"You and I both know that you weren't going to pay for it, anyway. You still need to pay off the meals from last time, remember?"
"That may be true, but it's the thought that counts! From one Enutrof to another!" Ruel shouted.
"Yeah, yeah. Just wait for Yugo to finish cooking like everyone else, you old coot." The mayor muttered with a smile on his face. "Yugo, add another plate of Gobball Stew! We've got another customer!"
"On it, Dad!" A youthful voice shouted from the kitchen.
Goku didn't exactly know what a Gobball was, but it sounded somewhat tasty. Although, after not eating for five years, he'd pretty much be satisfied with anything.
"So… is Yugo your son?"
"That's right! He's around your age, but already has quite the knack for cooking. He'll be a worthy successor one of these days." Alibert confidently proclaimed. "Trust me, that stew of his will satisfy your stomach completely, son. I guarantee it."
Goku had to suppress the urge to drool right then and there. All this talk about stew and cooking was making him even hungrier.
"I'll take your word for it then. Hehe."
Ruel observed the boy as he continued sitting next to him. In contrast with Goku, he was an elderly man with a shaggy white beard and a few missing teeth. His main outfit consisted of gray robes with green patches that were crudely sewn in using orange fabric. On top of wearing old-fashioned wooden sandals, he also wielded an orange shovel as his primary weapon and fortune-seeking tool.
The old Enutrof didn't recognize the type of outfit Goku was wearing. It appeared to be a blue and yellow martial arts gi of some kind, but to his knowledge, no one in the World of Twelve possessed something either identical or similar to it.
"Not that I mean to pry, kid, but if you really are an adventurer, where did you come from?" Ruel asked.
Shenron sprang into action and sent a mental warning throughout Goku's body.
"Don't answer that, Goku. If you have to, just say something vague enough for him to accept as a response."
Alright. I'll try my best. He thought in reply.
The martial artist then awkwardly cleared his throat and twiddled his thumbs.
"Well… um… about that. I think I started my journey from…"
Luckily, Goku's explanation was cut short by the sudden appearance of Alibert's adoptive son, Yugo. He was a young twelve-year-old boy with an orange sleeveless shirt, blue shorts, and a long blue chef's hat. He also had short blonde hair and brown eyes.
The boy was currently holding three separate plates of Gobball Stew: two in his hands and one on top of his head. Another plate was set aside, so he could serve it afterwards.
"Everyone watch out! Nobody move!" Yugo shouted. He then spun around and tossed one of the plates at a customer's table. "Yaaaaa!"
It landed directly in front of the Sacrier man alongside a fork, knife, and a cup of tea. He looked pleased by this display and smiled.
Yugo then climbed up one of the staircase's railing and threw another plate at an Osamodas man with dark blue skin. He looked scared at first by the falling fork and knife, but was overall satisfied as well.
Finally, Yugo centered the third plate with his finger and thumb before smacking it forth with his other, free hand.
"Hmm! Haaa!"
It soared past the countertop and, unfortunately, splattered all over Ruel's face. Pieces of meat and mushrooms now stained his beard, causing Goku to burst out laughing.
"Haha! Nice shot!"
Yugo ran up to them and laughed the same way. Ruel, on the other hand, wasn't as gung-ho about what happened as they were.
"Heh-heh, yeah! But you have to admit that two out of three is pretty good, huh?" He then walked away to bring over the fourth and final plate. "Oh! Here's your Gobball Stew, by the way. I didn't have enough room in my hands to toss it like the others."
Goku grabbed the plate of stew and gave him a thumbs up.
"Thanks, Yugo!"
Then, in only a few seconds, Goku gobbled up the stew in one single gulp. Both Alibert and Ruel's mouths were hung agape from astonishment. They didn't know whether to feel impressed or disgusted.
Yugo was just as confused, if not more so.
"Woah. Y-You already finished it?!"
"Yep… and every bite of it was delicious!" The Saiyan beamed as he rubbed his bulging stomach. "My name is Son Goku, if you were wondering. Nice to meet you."
"Son Goku…" Yugo repeated to himself. It was an odd name, but it had a nice ring to it, nonetheless. "It's nice to meet you too. Hehe."
Goku then held out his empty plate in front of the young cook-in-training.
"You mind if I have some more, please?"
Alibert proceeded to snort and laugh out loud at this sudden question, especially since he just got done wiping off the stew from Ruel's face.
"Maybe wait until I get a replacement for my stew first, Goku…" The old Enutrof grumbled.
"Oh, right. Sorry about that." He replied while stroking the side of his cheek in embarrassment.
This embarrassment wouldn't last, however, once he and the others saw a large monster powerfully burst through the front door. It was a gray, ogre-like creature with long orange hair and a large eye in the center of their forehead. The monster also had vacant, soulless white eyes and wore a white-red toga with black pants to match.
They lowly growled and took slow, ragged breathes while creeping through the inn. Everyone was trying not to draw attention to themselves, but Goku, as per usual, did the complete opposite.
He got out of his seat and smirked. "Great! A fight and a meal all on the same day. This new adventure just keeps getting better and better."
Alibert was surprised to hear this remark come from a boy as small as Goku.
"Fight?! You actually plan to fight that monster… all by yourself?!"
The martial artist nodded without question. "You bet! I may not look all that experienced, but believe me, I've dealt with far worse monsters than this one."
Emelka's mayor couldn't believe what he was hearing. Yugo being given to him by some old dragon was one thing, but this whole situation seemed a lot more difficult to comprehend. They weren't even sure where Goku came from, after all.
"Then I'm helping you! After all the mess he's made, I'm definitely not going to be cleaning up after him!" Yugo cried. They both smirked at each other in agreement and ran after the unknown monster.
Ruel shook his head and sighed contentedly. "Ah. I remember when I was young enough to blindly run into a danger like that. Good times, good times."
The monster currently took hold of a bronze Gobbowl trophy and smiled at in a strange, absentminded way.
"Pret… ty! Nice!" They muttered.
Strangely enough, the eyeball on his forehead seemed to have a mind of its own. It glared down at its 'partner' and scowled.
"Forget about that thing, idiot! We have other things to do!" The eye snapped in an irate tone of voice. "Destroy! It's time to destroy!"
"Never thought I'd see an eyeball talk. What's that about?"
The monster and their eyeball looked down to see Goku staring up at them. Yugo wasn't too far behind and had both hands on his hands in displeasure.
"Eyeball?! Feh! Foolish child! I, Rubilax, am a proud Shushu!" The newly revealed Rubliax growled. "And anyone foolish enough to insult me will face my and my little servant here's wrath!"
The twelve-year-olds glanced at one another in confusion. While Rubilax itself was a funny name in general, Shushu really took the cake.
"Huh? You don't look like a shoe to me." Goku said while obliviously tilting his head to the side. "Do you think so, Yugo?"
Alibert's son shook his head. "Nope. Doesn't look like any shoe I ever saw."
Rubilax's eye grew bloodshot. He couldn't stand their moronic insults any longer. They needed to die or be tortured as painfully and slowly as possible.
"Errgh! Shushu, you irksome little brats! I'm a Shushu!"
The Shushu's anger caused the person he possessed to become just as furious. They bared their fangs and tried to slam a fist down on Goku's skull.
"Errgh!"
Everyone closed their eyes in fear that the young martial artist truly was, as Rubilax intended, done for. All they heard was a firm smack and the creak of some wooden floorboards.
"Hehe. Serves that kid right for insulting my—" The Shushu's single eye widened in utter horror. "WHAT?!"
"Huh?" The monster groaned.
With one single finger, Goku had effortlessly blocked their hand and prevented them from moving another muscle. The monster tried to free himself from Goku's grip, but to absolutely no avail.
"Come on, idiot! Break free and show that kid who he's messing with!" Rubliax snarled.
"I… can't!" They groaned in reply.
As they talked, Goku took it upon himself to wound up his open fist and slam it straight into the monster's exposed stomach. They recoiled from almost instantaneous pain and fell unconscious.
This left their Shushu, Rubilax, fully exposed. The eyeball pulsated and shook about out of desperation to continue fighting.
"Ugh! Get up! I didn't say you could quit just yet! GET. UP!"
Ruel sprinted over to Goku with his shovel in hand. He rested a hand on his shoulder and smirked.
"Nice work, lad! Taking down a Shushu's owner is no small feat!"
"But what exactly is that, Ruel?" Yugo asked.
"It's an evil spirit. A demon trapped inside of an object." The Enutrof explained. "When they're badly controlled, they are able to break free and possess their owner."
"A demon, huh? How do we stop it from… possessing stuff then?"
Yugo took notice of Rubilax's general location and thought fast. His hands glowed with blue Wakfu as he spun his arms around and produced a large, circular portal. He quickly entered this portal and fell through another portal directly above the monster's head.
"Woah. What kind of power is that, Yugo?" Goku asked.
"I'm not really sure myself, but I can use it to do…" The boy yelled as he tightly grabbed ahold of Rubilax's eye. "…this!"
"Gragh! What are you doing, brat?! Let me go!"
In a blinding flash of red, shadowy energy, Yugo successfully tore Rubilax out of the monster's forehead. He transformed into a small, yet sharp sword as a result.
"You did it!" Goku said in relief.
"Yep! Hahaha!
As the customers who didn't run away in fear applauded the two boys for their bravery, Alibert ran over to hug his son.
"Yugo! You okay?"
"Mmhm." Yugo nodded. "Although, I probably would have been in worse shape without Goku's help."
Goku crossed both arms behind his head and smiled. "Eh, it was nothing."
All of them then watched as Rubilax's owner transformed from a gray monster into a smaller teenage Iop. He had pale skin, brownish white eyes, and flame-like orange hair. He also had, to Goku's perplexment, no nose for some reason.
"Wow, did he shrink in the wash?" Yugo joked.
The male Iop groaned and lightly massaged his aching head. "Ohhh…"
His eyes darted from left to right until he caught sight of his two saviors, Goku and Yugo.
"There's something I absolutely must… tell you…"
Before he could say anything else, the Iop passed out and began snoring away.
"Hmm?" Ruel quirked a brow. "He conked out!"
He clicked his tongue and turned his attention over to the two boys.
"That was impressive stuff, you two! That kind of punch could probably put Ogrest to shame, Goku. Hehe." Ruel proudly chuckled. "And I've never seen that kind of magic before, Yugo! Was that some kind of hide and seek game you came up with?!"
"It just sorta happened. Pretty cool, don't you think? I just discovered it when I was cooking."
This sudden appearance of Yugo's unique abilities caused Alibert to remember the message Grougaloragran left for him twelve years ago. It was heard right when he discovered both him and Az as babies.
"This child and this Tofu are very special. I have chosen you to take care of them. Raise them well! Protect them from harm with your life. One day, the boy's powers will awaken and a message will appear, telling him where to find his true family. On this day, he will have to set out to find them. The future of the world depends on it."
Alibert sighed. He knew the time was right for Yugo to learn all about this information.
"Yugo… I have something extremely important to tell you." He said. "When I found you, there was a message in your baby carriage. It spoke of your powers and your family…"
Goku raised an eyebrow. This whole situation was hitting way too close to home for him.
"Are you noticing the similarities?" Shenron asked.
Yeah, I am. Yugo's almost like… no, he is like this world's version of me. It's kind of strange how all of this panned out…"
"Like you, he is also from an incredibly powerful race called the Eliatropes. I'd be cautious around him if I were you. They all hold great importance within the entire Krosmoz… especially Yugo."
Especially? What do you mean by—"
"AAAAAAAAH!"
Everyone ran outside to see that the whole village was being attacked by small black creatures with leaves for hats. They latched onto people's arms with their snake-like tendrils and coated them in bushels of leaves. The whole process was extremely painful, but even more terrifying to witness firsthand.
"Guess I'll have to find that out later." Goku muttered.
Above their heads, another Noxine took pictures of both Goku and Yugo at the same time. Everyone was too preoccupied with the invasion of Polters to notice.
Back with Nox…
Now decked out in more pieces of battle armor, the evil Xelor was fed more Wakfu through a tube that attached itself to his central core. He twisted his head around in a robotic, inhuman fashion once the procedure was over, and checked on his Noxines' newly captured footage.
"Hehe. The Polters are wreaking havoc now. Guess the old oak tree didn't take too kindly to my Noxine." He chuckled. He then pleasurably gasped at the sight of both Goku and Yugo being in the same village. "Ah, what's this?! This kid and the monkey-tailed boy from before both have a lifetime's supply of energy to extract! It appears that Emelka will still need to be my next stop, after all."
"It's still so hard to believe! No human should be able to contain such Wakfu, let alone two." Nox grumbled. One of his monitors then showed footage of an ancient mural depicting large dragons with small children that wore hats similar to Yugo's. "Mm, yes. It appears that my Noxine have identified the boy in the blue hat as an Eliatrope. The forgotten people. Legends say they were related to dragons."
He then laughed to himself once the connection between this boy and the baby cared for by Grougaloragran was set in stone.
"Hehe. This was the child old Grougaloragran was carrying all those years ago." Nox noted. "So, I'll both be able to access that spiky-haired child's energy and find out that dragon's hiding place all in one fell swoop! I might as well be killing two Tofus with one stone!"
The Xelor, after laughing a few more times, grew more serious. His eyes progressively narrowed at the mere acknowledgement of Goku's presence.
"Still, this boy's power disturbs me a little. I may know some things about the Eliatropes, but him? Nothing at all. Absolutely nada."
He then brought out his clock hand-shaped sword and brandished it in preparation for combat.
"I suppose confronting him directly will grant me the answers I seek."
With that, he teleported away in a burst of blue energy and headed straight for Emelka. His fortress was now left dormant for his Noxine and loyal Grambos to run in his absence.
Deep within the fortress's core, another object whirred to life and reverberated with eternal, near-limitless power. It was a blue cube with the shape of a spiral in its center.
And this entire cube glowed quite similarly to Yugo's portals.
*And that's the end of Chapter 1. This is the first time I'm writing a Dragon Ball GT crossover, so I hope you like the direction I'm taking this story so far. Since Goku and Shenron have left Universe 7 behind, not a lot of Dragon Ball characters will be appearing or showing up. Some might make guest appearances, but apart from some villains and characters introduced in Super (i.e. Beerus), this crossover is, for the most part, set in the World of Twelve, exclusively. That's why I enjoyed having Shenron speak through Goku's subconscious, so he had someone to talk to before meeting Yugo and the others.
I also decided to introduce Lady Echo much earlier than in canon since, as revealed in this chapter, she has ties to both Zamasu and Goku Black. Wakfu Season 3 pretty much established Oropo as the main cause for everything (which I dislike, but I digress), so I thought making him an ally of Goku Black/Zamasu could work well thematically. Echo will also be Goku's main love interest, so I wanted to establish their connection pretty early on.
Nox was also pretty fun to write and I have a lot of plans for him. He's one of my favorite villains in any series, so I hope I'm able to do him justice for this arc.
