JudgementKazzy, top Pocket Circuit Online streamer, had decided to do something different today. Apparently after one of his kids had asked how he knew so much about the new Devil Killer set that had just dropped he’d decided to explain that Pocket Circuit hadn’t always been a videogame. It had led to him breaking out all of his old cars and parts, and he thought it might be nice to share it with his viewers. After all a surprising amount of them seemed to watch his streams to relax, and he couldn’t think of much that was as relaxing to him as building and customizing a car.
He related all of this while the camera was focused on his hands carefully placing a new frame on his trusty Golem Tiger. Majima was watching him now, and while he’d also played his share of Pocket Circuit it had mostly been to mess with Kiryu-chan. He couldn’t deny it was fun to see Kiryu so excited about it though. And the way Kiryu was talking now, he could freely admit it was pretty nice. He’d raided Kiryu after his own most recent stream but hadn’t expected to stick around after.
“Thank you for the Raid, Majima-no-Niisan. I appreciate you sending all these people over, I hope you all find this as interesting as I do,” Heh. He always was too formal, it was annoyingly endearing. He had intended to stick around long enough to see Kiryu’s reaction to the raid and maybe throw out some gift subs if he was feeling generous. Maybe leave it on while he got everything set up for next time before he had to leave and get back to his Actual Jobs. Which mostly consisted of making sure his boys only lit fire to shit when he told ‘em to. Admittedly, that was pretty often.
Instead he got sucked in as Kiryu answered questions about Pocket Circuit, and about the building process, and tricks for making sure the decals went on smoothly. How to correct them when they were crooked. He also responded to more personal comments.
Esutonia: How does one recover from a racing loss? Lost my first ever race today and I’m feeling devastated
“Racing can get very emotional, when I was first starting out losses felt very devastating for me too. But I remember our Pocket Circuit Fighter was always there for me, and he always reminded us all that we were there to have fun! The best thing you can do is learn from your opponents, losses can teach you some important things, and you might just become friends,”
Tabbitha: Any recommendations for parts that aren't super expensive? I don't have a lot of extra cash, but Pocket Circuit looks so fun
“You can do a lot with inexpensive parts as long as you know your car and your track, it doesn’t have to be expensive. It’s also worth looking around for parts in places you wouldn’t expect, I once bought some rare gears and an axolotl from the same guy in an alley. I doubt he’s still around though.” Majima couldn’t tell if he was being serious about that last part, but well, he’d seen weirder things in Kamurocho.
ambika: how do i regain my pride after a 10 year old beats me in a race?😞😞😞
“W-well…” Oh this was gonna be good, “Sometimes you have to just model good sportsmanship for them. And remember it’s just a game and that you don’t have to have your mom buy all your parts and drive you around.. Not that I’d know..” Majima was filing that one away for future teasing.
rogfunk: whats the best colour/ decal to make it go faster???
“Heh, the best decals are the one which ignite the most passion for racing in you. You can customize your machine any way you want, but personally, red flames look really bada– er, rad” Close one, Kazzy-Chan.
GoroGoroGoroChan: Still think you’re the fastest around, Kiryu-Chan~
“Heh, I bet I could still give you a run for it if you want to race again sometime,” damn, Majima might have to see if he still had his old rig buried somewhere.
CMPunkout: You and GGG used to race?!?
“He was my top competition, back in the day. I used to race a lot, I have to say I miss the stadium. I hope they’re doing well back in Tokyo,” Maybe Majima was projecting a bit, but it sounded a bit bittersweet. Maybe Kiryu missed him too, just a little bit.
The screen flooded with variations on the phrase “Pocket Circuit Collab!!”
“I’ll take you on any time, Niisan,” Kiryu said cockily.
GoroGoroGoroChan: You bet your ass you will! I’m gonna come down there and we’ll see who comes out on top!🏎️🏎️🏎️🔥🔥🔥🔪🔪🔪😈
“Heh, you’re welcome here anytime, Nii-san” Oh god, Majima wasn’t sure his heart could take promises like that. The chat seemed to go a bit wild at the idea of the two of them doing some sort of thing together, but Majima wasn’t certain he really wanted to share. Still, if it was for Kiryu…
Over the course of the stream Majima had switched to his phone instead and relocated to the couch. As Kiryu narrated more of what he was doing and gave encouragement to new racers, he’d have to admit he kind of stopped paying attention to what exactly Kiryu was talking about and focused more on his gentle tone. He just seemed to radiate calm. Majima idly wondered how long the stream was going to last? Well, he was sure he could watch for a few more minutes while Kiryu-Chan rambled on about gears and suspensions in that warm, deep, voice of his. Smooth as butter, it always made Majima melt a little.
Next thing Majima knew he was startled awake by knocking at his door and the calls of a worried Nishida. He looked down half awake to find his phone had died sometime during the stream. Huh, he hadn’t slept that easily in years. He’d have to get someone to record those for him.
“Boss? Boss, are you in there?” Oh, right, Nishida was here. Welp, no time like the present.
“Yeah, yeah. Shut up! Can’t a guy take a break?!” He shouted as he made to unlock the door.
“Boss! Sorry, y-you weren’t answering your phone and-“
“Ya know anything about streamin’, Nishida? I got a job fer ya,” Majima began formulating just how to best orchestrate more ways to harass his favorite Pocket Circuit Streamer into a collab.
