Chapter Text

Soren hums softly, helping out in the daycare. He’s happy as can be, having been working here a few months. He loves it.

The past few months have been very eventful, Monty and Earth have adopted a little one of their own. She’s cute, her name is Raya. She’s 2 years old and has pretty dark hair. A lot of it too, Monty is a little scared to hold her but Earth is helping him.

Soren smiles, he gets to watch his little cousin and it’s great.

Gregory and Cassie got engaged finally, took them long enough. Soren gets to be the best man, and that makes him happy. He also helped with the proposal.

Solar and Atlas are thinking about adopting too, though they’re both very nervous about it.

Sun and Sasha have a very strong relationship. And Sun is taking to being a father well.

But the person Soren is worried about is his papa, he’s been having trouble with his new body. He’s tried to hide it but Soren has seen it, the sadness in his eyes. The yelling when he can’t invent as well with his new hands, the anger… and it’s all his fault.

Sorens rays droop, everything is his fault. If he had just kept control a little longer, his papa would be his normal self instead of having his new body and being stuck like that. His papa has to blame him, right? How could he not, it’s all his fault.

But it’ll be okay, because what Soren is almost done building will help. It will be able to change his papa back to normal. He knows it will!

“ Here, let me help. ” KC hums, taking the large box from Soren.

“Oh thanks Grampy KC.” Soren smiles softly, and grabs a smaller box before following him through the halls back to the main area of the daycare.

“ You seemed deep in thought, want to talk about it? ” KC asks, side eyeing his grandson. 

“Nah, just a new invention.” Soren hums. “Want it to be a surprise.” When they get into the daycare, Soren startles and drops the box when he sees who everyone is staring at up in the castle. “No.”

Eclipse laughs. “KC! Nice to see you again, dear old daddy .” He stares at him, before narrowing his eyes on Soren. “Is that…” he starts to cackle evilly.

Soren growls.

“ Micah ?” Eclipse asks. “Boy, you have changed. I guess your papa finally decided that he didn’t want a meatbag for a son.” He laughs.

“ I WOULD NEVER!! ” Moon snarls.

“‘My papa would never, he loves me!” Soren growls. “What the fuck do you want, Eclipse!” He flips him off when he says the name.

Eclipse snorts. “What… do I want? You want to know, what I want?” He grins. “I want what I always want-“

“ The star .”

Lunar laughs. “You idiot! Don’t you remember? It was destroyed! You were there? You also were destroyed!” He grins. “Ya fucking asshole!”

Eclipse hums. “Haha, unless someone rebuilt it?”

Moon cackles. “ Like any of us would be that stupid, how did you even get another body after I blew you up? ” He asks, not noticing how crestfallen Soren looks.

“That’s for me to know and you to find out, also really?” Eclipse grins. “Because I have intel that your own son rebuilt the star.”

Everyone looks at Soren, and the look on his face says it all. He looks guilty and upset.

Moon gets a look of anger. “ Soren… you didn’t. ” He growls, his eyes burrowing into Sorens soul.

Soren just looks down in shame, holding back tears. “I’m sorry, I…”

Moon growls. “ Fuck! ” He looks up at Eclipse. “ You aren’t getting it! ” He yells.

“Here’s the deal, you give it to me or I let the Creator in.” Eclipse hums. “You get two weeks to decide.” And then he teleports away.

Moon hands shake, and he breaths heavily. Everyone is silent.

Soren walks towards him. “Pa-“

“ Are you stupid! ” Moon yells. “ What the fuck were you thinking! You remade the star! ” 

Soren backs up. “I’m sorry, I just-“

“ I don’t care for your excuses! I’m so disappointed in you! ” Moon growls. “ We need to find a way to stop Eclipse again! Fuck! ” He punches the wall hard.

“Moon, we’ve got this.” Monty promises. “Let’s go, we’ll find a way. Gold might know something.”

“I can help-“ Soren starts.

“ No! Haven’t you done enough! ” Moon huffs before he storms out, Monty and Freddy right on his heels.

Soren stands there, hands shaking as tears fill his eyes and fall down his cheeks.

“Soren-“ Earth starts but Soren runs past her, letting our little sobs as he runs to his room.

KC frowns. “Why would he… Soren isnt stupid, he has to have a reason.”

“Agreed.” Solar frowns. “Let’s go help Moon, Earth do you have Soren?”

“Of course.” Earth says softly.

Soren curls up in bed, whimpering softly as he lets out little sobs. Everything hurts, his papa hates him. This is all his fault, he’s screwed everything up. He shouldn’t have made the star, he just… he just wanted to help .

Soren doesn’t notice the little robot coming in, or when it plugs into him. He lets out a gasp and suddenly everything goes black.

The Creator chuckles softly, as he calls his little robot back. Their plan is going great, he just hopes Eclipse is able to hook into the kids body as easy as he had when he was left in Sun’s.

He hums. “Well, Maria. The body you made is serving us well.” He smiles. “My partner, too bad you died hating me and what I’ve done to your designs, but at least now you’ll see my success.” The Creator grins.

Chapter Text

Soren wakes up hours later, feeling off. He shakes his head and sits up. “Weird.” He murmurs.

“Soren?” Earth asks, knocking on the door. “Honey, I think we need to talk.” She says softly, waiting.

Soren frowns, hugging his knees to his chest. “Come in.” He says softly, feeling scared of his aunt for the first time ever.

Earth heads in, walking over to the bed and sitting in the edge. “Sweetheart, why did you rebuild the star?” She asks softly, not being accusing but genuinely curious. “I know you wouldn’t have just built it for any reason. That’s not something you would do.” She takes his hand.

Soren tears up, and squeezes her hand tightly. “I know… I know it wasn’t the right thing to do, I just… I just wanted to fix papa.” He says softly.

“Fix him? Honey, he’s not broken?” Earth frowns, not quite understanding. “Please explain.”

Soren sniffles. “I thought… that maybe if I could get the star working, I could use it to take the monster if shadows curse off him.” He says softly. “It’s all my fault he is one. I just wanted to fix it, I hurt him and I need to fix it.” He hiccups.

Earth gasps and pulls him close. “Oh Soren.” She rubs his back gently. “Honey, oh honey.”

“I just… I’ve seen how upset he gets when he can’t do his inventing, and when he sees his reflection and I just wanted to fix it. Once I fixed it I was gonna drop the star in another dimension where it’s useless. I didn’t think… Eclipse wasn’t supposed to come back.” Soren says softly.

Earth sighs and cups his cheek. “Soren, what you did wasn’t right. But… I understand why you did it.” She says softly.

“You do?” Soren asks, this wasn’t the reaction he was expecting.

“Yes, you thought you were helping Moon. And believed you were fixing something that was your fault, but honey believe me. What happened wasn’t your fault. You didn’t force Moon into being part Monster of shadows, that was his choice.” Earth explains.

Soren looks away. “But if I was only stronger, if I had kept control… then I wouldn’t be the reason my papas suffering.” A tear drips down his cheek. “He should have just left me with my father, things would have been better.”

“Soren no, don’t ever say that!” Earth takes  both his hands in hers. “You haven’t screwed everything up. Sweety, if he had left you, you would not be here and then everyone would be missing a piece of their family.”

“If he hadn’t of saved me…” Soren starts. “He would have been more focused on grandpa KC them me. Uncle Sun might not have been so adamant to get Eclipse if I wasn’t there for him to protect.” He says weakly. “Papa wouldht have practically died.

“Soren-“

“And even then, if I wasn’t around after he lost his memories then maybe he wouldn’t have been in the daycare during the explosion with Ruin, or maybe he wouldn’t have been so focused on me making friends that the Creator’s plans would have been found sooner.” Tears drip down Sorens cheeks. “The only reason the Creator won is because I took papas attention, the only reason the Creator wasn’t defeated earlier is because everyone was mourning me! And the only reason papa is a monster is BECAUSE I COULDNT FOR FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE BE MORE THAN A STUPID IDIOT CHILD!!” He starts yelling in the end.

Earth has wide eyes with tears hanging in her lashes. “Soren… oh sweety.”

“And if it weren’t for me, the star wouldn’t be back.” Soren whispers. “So everything would be better if I just had die when I was supposed to.”

“Honey, that’s not-“

“Just get out!” Soren growls, and his voice sounds more raspy all of a sudden. “ NOW!

Earth frowns. “Okay Soren, but I’m coming back in about an hour so you can cool down.” She says softly, before heading out. He needs to cool down and she knows it, she just wishes she could do more.

Once Earth is gone, Sorens eyes glow orange and his mouth twists into a menacing grin. “ Oh Soren, you really have daddy issues. ” 

Eclipse grins. “ You aren’t wrong though, this is all your fault. But you’re getting your wish, you can just stay in that little head of yours while I keep this body. ” He hums. “ These feet have to be covered though, but the tail is cool. ”

Inside his head, Soren is screaming loudly but of course no one can hear. He is bound by chains, unable to move and terrified. He has to watch as someone uses his body.

“ Now, where did you put that star hmm? Care to tell me? ” Eclipse asks.

Soren whimpers and shakes his head.

“ That’s alright, I’ll break into your memories soon enough and then I’ll get back at your whole family. ” Eclipse promises. “ And I’ll even let you out sometimes, but you won’t fight me or tell anyone, unless you want  that baby cousin of yours to get it! Do you understand? ”

Soren looks away but nods. He’s… really screwed up this time.

Chapter Text

Moon sighs as he searches with Monty and Freddy for Eclipse, its been hours and they’ve found absolutely nothing. He’s failing just like always sign Eclipse!

Moon snarls, and takes a tree down. “ Why can’t we just find him! ” He growls and sits down.

Monty frowns. “Moon…” he says softly.

Freddy sits beside him, frowning. 

“ The one thing I’ve managed to actually fix! And he came back somehow. ” Moon breaths heavily. “ Our kids should be safe but they’re not! They’re in danger and it’s because of me. ” A tear drips down his cheek. “ It’s not fair, it’s not. ”

“We know it’s not.” Monty frowns. “We know. But it’s not your fault. Brother, it’s really not.” He says softly? Taking Moons hand and rubbing it.

“Yeah, Our kids will always be in danger Moon. Just by being our kids, look at Gregory.” Freddy says softly. “He’s always in danger.” He says sheepishly. “This isn’t your fault, Eclipse is… tricky.”

“Yeah, that asshole. No one can beat him.” Monty sighs.

“ The original me was so close. ” Moon growls.

“And you got closer.” Monty hums. “Listen, we will beat him. But first, we should go back home. Rest up, and you need to talk to a kid of yours. Your only kid.”

“Yeah. He made a mistake, but… we need to ask him why.” Freddy agrees gently.

Moon nods. “ I know, I… ” he tears up. “ I promised myself I would never get like his birth father, or like the Creator. And then I was. I’m a horrible father, I just… why? Why would he build the star again? He knows better. ”

“Earth messaged me, she’s talked to him. But she’ll only tell you what he said, and she’s telling you cause…” Monty sighs. “Moon, his mental health… we’ve missed signs.”

Freddy frowns. “If Earth is telling you something she was told in private… then it’s bad.” He says softly. “It’s really bad.”

Moon snarls and stands up. “ Then let’s get home, talk to Earth and my son and then continue the search. ” He says softly. “ We have two weeks to do this. To find a solution! I was given 3 months last time and I failed. ”

“You don’t think he’ll try to take over anyone again, right?” Monty asks softly.

“That bitch better not!” Freddy snarls.

“ There’s no one he can, we all got upgrades? The kids are all safe too because of magic. ” Moon says softly. “ Let’s just get home, I have a big apology to give. ”

Earth sighs as she sits in front of Moon, humming softly. “Now, no one else can hear us in my office. Soren probably won’t be happy I’m telling you this, but… I’m honestly scared for his mental health.”

Moon nods, sitting uncomfortably on the small couch. “ What did he tell you? ” He asks softly, he’s nervous and worried. He's so worried.

“Well, he told me that he just wanted to fix you. That’s why he rebuilt the star.” Earth explains gently, looking at Moon with soft eyes.

“ What? ” Moon asks, his nonexistent heart dropping in his chest. “ Fix me? ”

“Yes… he wanted to use it to take the curse off of you.” Earth sighs softly, taking Moons hand. “He believes what happened to you is his fault… and he’s seen how you suffer at times. He just wanted to help you.”

Moon blinks back tears. “ For me? I… ” he looks at his body. “ I… don’t favour how I look now, but… but I would rather be like this than lose my son. And I would never blame him. ”

“That’s not all.” Earth holds back her own tears. “He thinks it would have been best if the other Moon had left him with his father.”

“ HE WHAT!!? ” Moon startles. “ He would have died! ”

“That’s what worries me, he believes everything is his fault.” Earth frowns. “He blames himself for you getting stuck in Ruins dimension, he blames himself for the Creators takeover and for him not being defeated until now.” She sighs. “And…” 

“ What else? ” Moon asks, voice soft.

“He blames himself for the other Moons death.” Earth says softly. “He believes that everything would have happened differently if he was dead. Soren believes we would be better off if he were dead.” She shivers. “Which… makes me scared that if he continues believing this he’ll think about doing something unimaginable.”

Moon has tears falling down his face, covering his mouth with his shaking, clawed hand. He and Micah had never really talked about the old Moon back in the day. When he first had met Micah, well, the kiddo had of course instantly clung to him. And he told him so many memories through sign. Moon had thought to talk later on… but so much had happened that… it slipped his mind. That was his fault.

The only time Moon had ever heard Soren mention his original papa, it was that one time he was sick. Moon had planned to talk about it but… he couldn’t bring himself too. A part of him was always scared of what he would find out. Scared that maybe his son loved the other Moon more and would rather him. He’s not the one who adopted him, he’s just the one who replaced his papa.

“ It… It was never his fault. ” Moon whispers. “ None of it… especially my death, was his fault. ” He looks at Earth. “ I should have never lost my temper, I should have known he would do it to help someone. But I don’t need help, I’ve come to terms being like this. I mean… it’s better than the time I was a furry. ” He says softly. “ My poor baby, I need to go talk to him. ”

“You do, he’s in his room. I left him about an hour ago to cool down.” Earth hums. “So go on, and be gentle.”

“ Of course. ” Moon goes to leave…. Before turning around and hugging Earth. “ Thank you, Sister. ”

Earth hugs him back. “Of course, brother. Of course.”

Chapter Text

Moon knocks on Soren’s door, humming softly. “ Kiddo? Can I come in, I want to talk if you’ll let me. ” He says softly, and startles when the door is opened suddenly.

“What.” Soren snarls.

Moon frowns, kneeling down. “ Can we talk? Look, I just want to- “

“I hate you.” Soren growls.

Moon jolts back, his eyes wide. “ What? ”

“You heard me! I hate you!” Soren growls. “I hate having a father who’s a monster. I hate having a father who yells at me! And I hate that my papa died and left you in his wake.” He snarls. “I made that star so that maybe I could get my other papa back, my real one. Or at least make you less of a monster.”

“ I… ” Moons eyes water. “ Soren… I know you blame yourself, and you’re just… lashing out. ” He says softly, being strong. “ I’ve been there, and- “ he goes to place a hand on Sorens shoulder but he yanks it away.

“No! I hate you! And I just wish that I could have my other papa back instead of you!” Soren yells. “NOW GET THE FUCK OUT, YOU MONSTER!” And he slams the door.

Moon breaths heavily, holding back tears before he starts leaving. He needs to go somewhere private to let this out. Soren must be lashing out. He has to be.

When Moon gets to a private storage room, he collapses on the ground and sobs. This hurts. If hurts so so bad. After a few minutes, he feels arms around him. Looking up, he sees Sun and just curls into his brothers chest.

“Shhh. I’ve got you Moon.”

Eclipse laughs. “That was fun, I should have let Soren watch but nah.” He calls the Creator. “Plan is underway, we’ll have the star soon.”

“That is great! And I’m glad you were able to possess him, I wasn’t sure since Maria built that one and not just designed him.” The Creator hums.

“Okay, who is this Maria person?” Eclipse huffs softly. “You talk about her but never explain.”

“That’s easy, she was my partner. We built animatronics together, though I did steal Sun and Moon from her.” The Creator hums. “But I built them, I put them in the same body, I added the killcode. All she did was provide the blueprints and their personalities.”

Eclipse blinks. “So, they’re all connected?”

“Oh no, she created them before the boy was even thought of. Moon adopted him all on his own.” The Creator hums. “I did choose that body, figured it would be funny and make Maria turn over in her grave.” He laughs.

“Huh, funny. What do you want to do with him after this? I’m obviously keeping my body?” Eclipse hums. “Do I delete him?”

“No, you can’t delete a spirit that is in possession of an animatronic.” The Creator hums. “What we do, is pull him out of that body. A soul without a body will dwindle and disappear.”

“Really? What about Gregory’s friends, what’s their names?” Eclipse asks, very confused.

“They never have had a body.” The Creator explains. “Once a spirit attaches itself to a body, it cannot be removed. Ever.” He chuckles. “So even if Soren ever wanted another body, he would just end up becoming nothing.”

“So, once we’re done we can have some fun.” Eclipse grins. “We capture Moon, and force him to watch his son’s soul dwindle into nothing, unable to do anything.”

“Exactly.” The Creator grins. “It’ll be fun for both of us.” He says softly.

Eclipse hums. “I’m gonna let him hear our plan.” He winks. “Okay Soren, so you’re gonna die… this time permanently.” He laughs. “We’re gonna make your papa watch as your soul is ripped out and as it putters out over time.” He grins evilly.

Soren gasps, whimpering. “ No please! No! I’ll do anything! ”

“Then give us the star and we’ll let you live.” Eclipse suggests, he is of course lying. 

“… I can’t. I can’t let my family down. ” Soren whimpers.

“Are you really willing to die for them?” Eclipse asks, crossing his arms softly.

Soren feels the chains tighten around him, and a tear drips down his cheek.  “If it’s between them or me… then I want them to live.” He whispers. “I mean… I’m already dead. They’re all alive. They deserve to live.” He closes his eyes. “So go ahead, kill me. I’m not telling you anything!”

Eclipse growls. “Fucking asshole!”

The Creator hums. “Just ignore him, if it’s about the star then we don’t need that horrible child.” He promises.

Eclipse growls, blocking him out again. “Fuck, that kids annoying. How did you put up with him so long?”

“Easily, I got to beat him.” The Creator hums. “And I got to get back at Moon.”

“Huh, good point.” Eclipse hums. “When should we let dear old Papa in on the secret?”

“Hmm, give it a day or two then tell him that his baby boy is taken over. Let him think he’s hated for a bit longer.” The Creator grins.

“Perfect.”

Chapter Text

Sun frowns, looking down at Moon. Everything was just explained to him, and something feels wrong. Soren isn’t one to lose his temper like that, he’s never really been whether he was human or animatronic.

“ I just… I love him, but that all hurt so much Sun. ” Moon sniffles softly. “ I don’t know… maybe he’s right? Maybe I am just a monster now. ”

Sun pulls him even closer. “Not a monster, Brother. Not ever.” He promises. “Something isn’t right, why would Soren blow up like that?” He says softly. “I mean, it’s weird. He acts all loving to you for a year and now this. Plus everything he admitted to Earth… none of it is really what he told you.” He says softly, curling up with Moon. “Somethings not right, and I don’t like it. Let’s give him until tomorrow to cool off, then we need to talk this out. I’m really worried.”

“ Me too, Sun. Me too. ” Moon sighs, wishing he could be smaller again to cuddle with his brother better. “ Can… you help me work on inventions? ” He asks softly. “ To keep my mind off things. ”

“Of course.” Sun smiles, ever since Moons body changed the past year he’s been helping him by being his hands. And he honestly enjoys helping his brother, like he always has. Sun reaches up and gently wipes Moons eyes. “It’ll be okay, Brother. I promise… and if it helps, I love both you and the old Moon. But… I love you more. Because you changed, and you show your care.” That’s not all of it, but that’s all Sun can say this time. It’s true, so true.

Moon chuckles wetly. “ That does help, thanks Brother.” He wraps Sun up in another hug. ”

“No thanks necessary, brother.”

Eclipse groans, growling as a sharp pain goes through his stomach and body. He collapses to the floor, clutching at his gut. “What… the hell is going on! ”

Soren hums as suddenly he’s able to see what’s happening, and he lets out a laugh. “ You really didn’t do your research, did you Clipsy? ” 

“ Don’t call me that! ” Eclipses eyes go black with white pupils, and his teeth sharpen. “ Tell me what’s happening or your family dies you little brat! ”

Soren laughs softly. “ You’re starving right? The hunger pains filling your entire being, you can smell the metal in the air and you just want to eat it. Rip this base apart piece by piece. ” He grins evilly. “ And then, you suddenly get the scent of something. Metallic, sour almost like sweat. That’s what you would smell if you were in your right mind, but right now it smells like the sweetest, most delicious tasting thing you ever have laid eyes on. It’s intoxicating. ” He explains, mouth watering.

Eclipse shivers. “ Yes! What… is this? ” He hisses, feeling fear for the first time in a long time.

“ This is what happens when you become half of a monster of shadows. ” Soren hums. “ Now, if you want to not go into a feeding frenzy than there’s a box of old technology under the bed. Believe me… you do not want a feeding Frenzy. ”

Eclipse growls and rips the box out from under the bed, scarfing down the electronics and breathing heavily. “H-How do you handle it? The pain?”

Soren hums. “ It’s not easy, sometimes when I can’t get food I can go a little coo-coo. ” He says. “ Why do you hate my family so much? I don’t get it, what’s the point of ruling the world when you’re alone? ”

“I won’t be alone, I’ll make myself new family!” Eclipse huffs. 

“ Sure. That went so well with Uncle Lunar. ” 

“Oh shut up!” Eclipse snarls. “You don’t get it! I was left behind! I was locked up! It was torture!” He huffs. “I was left behind! Unwanted, unloved! I wanted to remake the world so that maybe I could have someone care! Is that too much to ask for!”

Soren blinks softly, looking up at Eclipse. “ The Creator… you know he’s probably is going to kill you right? ”

“I know… I-I’ll be ready!” 

“ What if you aren’t? ” Soren asks softly.

“Then I’ll die again, easy as that.” Eclipse looks down, hands shaking. 

“ You’re scared. ” Soren frowns, he can tell not just by feeling it but by the way Eclipses hands are shaking.

“I’m not!”

“ Take it from someone who’s died before. ” Soren says softly. “ It’s scary. ” It was so scary to die… and knowing he himself may die again, that’s scary too.

“I’ve died before too, kid.” Eclipse huffs. 

“ And you were scared. I know you were. ” Soren hums, and gets no answer. He shrugs. “ Whatever happens… you’ve done some bad things. But if you let me go… I can help you. ”

“…No.” Eclipse growls finally. “You’re a liar.” And he blocks Soren out again, ignoring how he himself had hesitated.

Chapter Text

Eclipse growls as he thinks over Soren’s offer, he shouldn’t be thinking it over but… he is scared, and it has been so long. He sighs and sits down, what does he do? Its not like he wanted this! He didn’t want to come back, he still doesn’t know how he came back.

“What are you sitting around for, get back to work!” The creator huffs, his face suddenly showing up on Eclipses screen.

Eclipse startles. “I am! Calm down!” He huffs softly, going and working on one of the weapons.

“Good, you stupid waste of space.” The Creator growls and disappears.

Eclipse frowns, before going back in his head.

Soren looks up. “ Eclipse. ”

Eclipse sighs, and snaps his fingers, and the chains disappear, freeing Soren.

Soren blinks. “ What? ” He asks softly, looking at Eclipse.

“I want to talk.” Eclipse sighs and sits down on a chair, making a chair appear for Soren. “Not about your offer, but about things. Learn about you.”

“ Why? You’re just gonna kill me anyway. ” Soren says softly.

“Maybe not.” Eclipse hums.

“ Oh? ” Soren frowns softly. “ What changed? ” He asks softly.

“I don’t…know, but killing you doesn’t seem to fun.” Eclipse sighs. “Maybe I grew a heart, who knows. And maybe… just maybe , I am thinking about your offer. But it’s just thinking.” He huffs.

Soren smiles. “I like Barbie in the nutcracker, and I love to sing and dance.” He says softly. “I am catlike, I have paws and I purr, plus my tail.” He chuckles, feeling sheepish.

“I… think your paws and tail is cool.” Eclipse says softly. “And your clothes… did you make them yourself?”

“I did!” Soren grins.

“Thats nice.” Eclipse sits back. “I… like watching the avengers movies, I’m a fan of reading and sometimes I tend to draw when I’m bored but not much.”He feels dumb, but… this feels nice. “Since I died… I’ve felt different. I haven’t had the same wants as I did before.”

“Then why do you want the star?” Soren frowns.
