Work Text:

“We can’t keep doing this,” Ginny moaned.

“I can’t do this without you,” Blaise said.

Ginny kept quiet until they had reached their ending and then fixed her clothes before helping Blaise fix his tie.

“It’s getting dangerous,” Ginny said, “I love you, but I got tortured the other night because they caught me out after curfew.”

“Who tortured you and why didn’t you tell me before now?” Blaise growled.

“The Carrows and because I know you would try and get revenge for me and this won’t work if anyone knows we are together,” Ginny said.

“I can’t do this without you Gin,” Blaise said again, pulling her into his arms, “I love you.”

Ginny kissed him and then snuck out of the classroom and back to the Room of Requirement. She was going to have to put her foot down soon. It was getting too dangerous for them both.

Ginny sat in the cell they had dumped her in three weeks ago when Voldemort had won and they had killed most of the Order.

Ginny, Hermione, Luna and Neville had been spared and were left in Azkaban to live out their days until Voldemort could decide to do with them.

She had been sick since she got here and she had a feeling that she knew why but without her wand she couldn’t confirm her theory on why she had been sick.

Blaise had come and visited a few times, the next time he came she would get him to check.

The Death Eater guards were kind to her, they always made sure she had enough food and gave her the Prophet.

Today's article was the most interesting she had seen since the first day.

REPOPULATION MARRIAGE LAW PASSED

Today comes the news of a new law to help our world repopulate after the devastating loss of so many Pureblood witches and wizards in the war.

Death Eaters will be required to marry a Pureblood Witch or Wizard that is able to procreate.

It has been decided that if anyone that has been placed in Azkaban for their protection is willing to join forces with us that they will be allowed freedom. But they have to already be pregnant with a Death Eaters child before they are released to show that they have the ability to have a child.

Ginny could laugh. All she would have to do is confirm that she was pregnant and she would be free.

But then the guilt had flooded through her system leaving all of her friends here to suffer.

She didn’t know what to do. Should she agree to participate in the marriage law?

These thoughts ran through her head until Blaise came and visited her.

“Hey, love,” He said as he sauntered in.

“Hi,” Ginny murmured.

“What’s wrong?” Blaise asked. Immediately knowing something was wrong.

“I think I might be pregnant, but I feel guilty for being happy if it means that I leave the rest behind,” Ginny explained.

Blaise pulled his wand out and cast the spell to determine whether she was pregnant or not and when the golden light floated over her womb Ginny felt her excitement rise.

She could be with Blaise. She could be free.

“I’m going to go and get the process started, you won’t be staying here with my child,” Blaise said and left her.

He wasn’t leaving the decision up to her. His child and the love of his life would not live in Azkaban.

It was two days later when Blaise came back to Azkaban with a Ministry Official in tow.

“Please stand back while I cast the paternity test,” the wizard said, “Reprehendo quis enim parentes sunt.”

Ginny felt the spell move through her and then just above her stomach in a purple script sat GW & BZ.

Confirming that Blaise was the father.

After it was confirmed the wizard performed the marriage ritual and Ginny was released, before she allowed Blaise to take her home she went to see her friends and said her goodbyes.

She knew that Blaise wouldn’t allow her to come back to Azkaban until at least their child was born and she had recovered from the pregnancy.

This would be the last time she saw them for at least seven months.

“I saw this happening,” Luna said from her cell and smiled, “I am happy for you, but I will miss you.”

“Why didn’t you tell us that you were with him ?” Neville asked.

“You would have been in as much danger as us if you had known,” Ginny explained.

“Why him?” Hermione said.

“I don’t know, he was there for me when you, Ron and Harry first went on the run and we built a friendship and slowly fell for one another,” Ginny said, “I love him, Hermione. Please forgive me.”

“I don’t know if I can, Harry died thinking that you were waiting for him,” Hermione said, “Let me be for a while and I’ll get word to you if I can move past this betrayal.”

It seemed that Neville felt the same. But Luna said she was happy for Ginny and couldn’t wait to meet her child.

Ginny wanted to find a way for them to forgive her but that would be up to her.

Maybe she could find someone for Luna.

Blaise was waiting just around the corner and pulled her into a hug having heard everything.

“They’ll get over it eventually, let’s go love,” Blaise said.

He was excited to finally be able to be alone with her again in a warm bed instead of a dirty prison cell.

Blaise was definitely glad this law had been passed.

He would be there for Ginny no matter if her friends forgave her or not. And she would have his friends to take care of her and would treat her no differently than him.

They were finally safe to be together in the open instead of the stolen moments they had had over the past year.
