Death
"Wake me up when it’s all over." I whisper quietly to the empty air
My heart beat slows
The sadness once surrounding me fades
My earthly vessel turns to ash
A bright light illuminates my soul
Peace has finally found me
Alone
The silence to so loud
The birds chirping and leaves rustling that once surrounded me have ceased their appeal
Vines intertwined now grow apart
This lonely feeling consumes me
Home
A sunflower stands tall
On the hillside of a long forgotten land
Following the sun, the lonely bloom rests
Exhausted and content after a full lifespan
The morning dove coos
Nostalgia hanging in its tone
Beautiful sunsets ever expanding their hues
The sunflower is home
Euthanasia
My last sunset drips with warmth
But it doesn’t quite reach my soul
Take me now so the pain will cease
This loneliness ever consuming
Sobering is the moment of utter peace
