Chapter Text

It started off as a normal job request. The requester had stated that Crazy:B would play a mystery game for a show, but if they knew what game they'd be playing, they wouldn't have accepted the request.

They enter the room they were instructed to enter, starting to get suspicious as the door locks. There's a table with four chairs. As they all sit down, they notice two things on the table: a revolver and a piece of paper.

They all stare at the revolver for a moment, before HiMERU picks up the paper and reads it out loud.

Hello Crazy:B! 

The game that I have asked you to come in to play is a simple game of Russian Roulette! The rules are status quo. Each round there will be 5 blanks and one live bullet. Aim the revolver at the person to your left and shoot! The round will end when the live bullet is shot! Have fun!

“What the hell?” Niki asks. “This can't be allowed!”

Suddenly, another note pops up from a hidden area in the table. Niki grabs it and reads it.

It isn't! But you still have to do it! You're locked in here until all rounds are done! Have fun and start shooting!

“But, wouldn't that mean that we'll…” There's silence for a moment. “...Die…?”

There's a tense silence in the room. Thoughts of fear and panic fill the minds of the idol group, however, most of them are able to hide it well. Then…

“Kyahaha! Isn't this just a gamble?” Rinne picks up the revolver. “Well, let's get this started, shall we?” He looks over at the person on his left, Kohaku.

“Wait, Rinne-kun, are you dumb? Aren't you afraid of hurting people?” Niki exclaims.

“HiMERU agrees. This is a bad idea.” HiMERU speaks up. Kohaku, however, stays quiet.

“I have lady luck on my side! You don't have to worry, Kohaku-chan! You'll be fine!”

Kohaku hesitates. “...I trust ya, Rinne-han.”

“Are you sure, Kohaku-chan?” Niki asks, looking at the youngest with a worried expression.

“...I am. I trust Rinne-han.”

“Kyahaha! See, Niki, Merumeru? Everything will be fine!”

Neither of them seem to believe that, but they know Rinne won't budge. Rinne aims the revolver at Kohaku.

“Don't worry, Kohaku-chan!”

After the slightest moment of hesitation, Rinne pulls the trigger.

BANG!

Chapter Text

Before anyone could process it, Kohaku’s body slumps over, falling out of the chair. He's bleeding from the wound in his head. He's not breathing. Rinne’s drenched in his blood.

“KOHAKU-CHAN!!” Niki screams. He gets out of his chair, and the chair falls to the ground immediately. He sprints over to Kohaku, kneeling down next to the youngest’s body. His hands hover over the wound, shaking.

HiMERU rushes over to the body of the youngest as well, but all Rinne can do is sit there. The revolver falls out of his hand and onto the ground.

While Niki tries to stop the bleeding (even though they all know it's useless), HiMERU turns to Rinne.

“Amagi.” His voice is completely devoid of emotion. However, Rinne can see his hands shaking. “HiMERU and Shiina told you this would be a bad idea. Look what you have done.”

Rinne hesitates. It's his fault. This gamble doesn't have the thrill that all of the others do. His unitmate is dead. And he was the one who killed him.

Suddenly, the table flips over, another revolver and another note laid neatfully on top. Rinne picks up the note and starts reading it.

Wow, round one sure ended quickly! Good job to you three for surviving! It's time for round two! Just like before, five blanks and one live bullet! And remember, you have to play, or else you won't be let out!

“...We have to continue? Kohaku-chan just died! We can't-” Niki cuts himself off with a sob.

Another note pops up from the table. Rinne reads it once more.

That's too bad, Shiina Niki! The game must go on! The one who was sitting to the left of Oukawa Kohaku will shoot next! Sit back down!

“...HiMERU says we should move on. We can figure out what to do with Oukawa after.” Niki went to tell him off, to ask him how he could be so insensitive, but he could tell that, behind the mask, HiMERU is just as distressed as he and Rinne are.

The two sit down, HiMERU picking up the new revolver. He turns to Niki. “HiMERU is sorry, Shiina.”

“...It's okay HiMERU-kun! I know you have to do it!” Niki’s shaking, tears still streaming down his face. He feels like he's about to vomit, but he has to stay strong.

HiMERU hesitates, his mask breaking for just a split second before being put back up. He pulls the trigger.

Click.

Niki lets out a half sob/half sigh of relief. His whole body is shaking intensely. “...I’m alive.”

HiMERU nods, sliding the gun over to Niki. It's his turn.

The chef lets out a shaking sob, picking up the gun and looking towards Rinne.

“...I’m sorry, Rinne-kun. I'm so sorry.”

“It's okay, Niki! I know my gorgeous wife won't hurt me, kyahaha!” Niki looks down to see Rinne’s hands shaking as well.

Niki aims the gun at Rinne. He pulls the trigger and…

Click.

“See?” Rinne asks, smiling at Niki. “My amazing wife would never hurt me!”

Niki chuckles slightly, the smallest of smiles on his tear covered face. He hands the revolver over to Rinne. He takes it, looking over at HiMERU.

“Are you ready, Merumeru?” No fake promises this time. No “you'll be okay”s that end up backfiring on them. Just a simple question.

HiMERU nods. “HiMERU is ready.”

Rinne nods back, aiming the gun. Then he pulls the trigger.

Click.

HiMERU lets out a small sigh of relief. With no dialogue, he takes the gun from Rinne, aiming it at Niki.

“I'm ready.” Niki speaks up. HiMERU pulls the trigger.

Click.

Niki lets out another sob of relief. More tears stream down his face. HiMERU hands over the gun to Niki.

“You've got this, Niki! It's a 50% chance!” Rinne exclaims.

“That makes it even worse, Rinne-kun!” Either way, Niki aims at Rinne. “I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!” He lets out a sob. His hands are shaking as he pulls the trigger and…

Click.

Rinne blinks in surprise. He's alive. He looks over at HiMERU, who seems paler than usual. He knows. Everyone knows.

“Merumeru-”

“It's okay, Amagi. HiMERU knows… no… I know you do not have a choice.”

“...HiMERU-kun…”

“Please, just do it already. Do not keep me waiting.”

“...Merumeru…”

“...There are people I wish I could've said goodbye to, but I guess that will be impossible.” He lets out a shaky sigh. “I will make sure to say hello to Oukawa for you, if possible.”

Rinne takes the gun. More blood will be on his hands. He doesn't want this. He really doesn't want this. He aims it towards HiMERU.

“...Goodbye, Amagi. Goodbye, Shiina.” 

Rinne pulls the trigger.

BANG!

Chapter Text

Just like Kohaku’s body, HiMERU’s body slumps over and falls to the ground. His blood covers Rinne, just like Kohaku's.

Now both of the survivors are crying. Rinne hasn't cried in such a long time, it feels weird. Even the onslaught of tears doesn't wash the blood off his face.

Just like before, the table flips over. Once more, a new revolver and a note are on the table. After a moment of silence, Niki picks it up and reads it.

Poor, poor Amagi Rinne. Two kills in a row must not feel good!

This is the final round! Who will live? Who will dies? That's up to fate! Once again, the one to the left of HiMERU will shoot!

Have fun, boys!

Niki grabs the new gun, his hands shaking so bad he can barely hold it without dropping it.

“You've got this, Niki!” Rinne's trying to encourage him, to get the damn game over already. 

“...Okay. I'm sorry, Rinne-kun.” He aims the gun and pulls the trigger.

Click.

Before Niki could say anything, Rinne takes the gun. “Are you ready?”

Niki hesitates, but nods. “...Yes.”

Rinne aims the gun, pulls the trigger, and…

Click.

Niki takes the gun from Rinne, aiming it at him. His hands shake even more.

“It's okay, Niki. Truly.”

It sounds completely different from the Rinne that Niki knows. Despite that, he trusts Rinne. He aims and pulls the trigger.

BANG!

Chapter Text

Rinne's body hits the ground. Niki lets out a loud scream, dropping the gun, and running over to Rinne.

“Rinne? Rinne!?”

He's dead. Undeniably. The gunshot in his forehead and the blood covering Rinne is proof of that. He starts sobbing, almost screaming.

Rinne always said that Niki changed his life. And now Niki has taken it away too.

He clings onto the body of Rinne, sobbing helplessly in the corpse's shoulder. He looks around to see HiMERU and Kohaku's bodies still there, which only makes him sob harder.

Why did this happen to them!? What did they do to deserve this!?

Instead of a piece of paper, a speaker turned on.

“Congrats on winning, Shiina Niki! You may leave the room now, the doors will unlock!”

But Niki couldn't move. All he could do was sit there, sobbing. All he could do was mourn.

His closest friends, his family, are gone.
