Chapter Text

Everything went according to the plan right? Nope it didn't the cup of reincarnation was supposed to turn everything back to 10 years before the dungeon break and everything but it didn't. Instead it brought the dead hunters and all the life lost during the ten years to life. It is indeed the happy ending everyone needed but not the one which was planned.

Jin chul looked around happy, delighted even, to see everyone back and even go gun hee, but somewhere in his heart he knew this is not the end.

Woo Jin chul locked eyes with sung jin-woo who was surrounded by the media and the people who hailed him for healing the land the whole world with him. but his grey eyes were locked with Jin chul's dimming golden ones. the uncertainty and confusion in jin-woo's eyes was enough for Jin chul to know something was wrong, but it was futile to think more As Jin chul felt the life and mana drain out of him from the wound he had earlier.

Just before he passed out he saw a glimpse of igris Jin woo's shadow soldier with a jet black armour and red hair? Catch him before he hit the ground.......that's the last thing he saw.

Jin chul was content with his life so far. He didn't have much to accomplish in the first place no one to prove it to either. His parents he don't even know who they're the only thing he knew about them that they had golden eyes and hair, and they were from Slavic and Korean heritage, that's all he knew about them not even their names.

His parents were dead that's what he heard when he asked about them to the caretakers in the orphanage 'they are dead boy!' 'they are gone, stop dwelling on the dead and move on'. And that's what he did he moved on and accepted it that his parents are a thing which don't exist and just a wonderland. Being raised in an orthodox Christian orphanage in Russia had its own valuable perks like endless hoard of books giant libraries, study materials and all the things a child will need for their education which they got through donations. Jin chul spent most of his time in the library or he would be seen in the gardens painting drawing or just tending at the flowers, or  be with the choir practicing for all the Sunday congregations. Jin chul was loved by the pastors, nuns and the priests as he was a very studious smart and calm boy compared to the children his age, he was called the old soul, he was wise and loved by the younger children in the orphanage.  But some feared him as he was not so kind when he was pissed off, and the rumours about him going around that he was an Fallen angel as much as ridiculous it sounded it was believable he had the voice of an angel, his long golden hair and eyes just enhanced the purity and the holiness, with all these around. He held an authoritative Status in the orphanage and the church as the future priest, which he had to decline.

When he was 18 he was already in the second year of medical school able to skip few years of schooling to go to university which he later dropped out to go to Korea. The  birth place of his mother. Just 2 months in he was met with the dungeon breaks everywhere. He was safe tho, he always outsmarted death no matter what. Two months from there he was awakened as an a-rank, with a red and purple aura, it wasn't bad at first but as he ran in an out of each dungeon the morals in him started to break he tried his best to keep it all together he tried..... but somewhere he knew he is loosing his screws, that's when he met go gunhee who gave him a choice of being a hunter or working away from action and he chose the latter to follow go gunhee as he was aware that will keep him sane in long run. He started in the lowest chain but fastly raised up to the rank to the chief of the monitoring division in an year due to his excellent commanding power the observation skills he had and the level head he kept in all situations think and act, never rash on a decision and he tried to keep the casualties to a minimum and tried to get as much as information from anyone he got his hands on, in a way he was a very manipulative to keep his threads in his playthings tight but not too tight to make them bleed.

Then he started his second ploy of acting like the saint he is, his golden hair eyes and golden eyelashes pale skin and his calming voice is all he needed to control others he held no ulterior motives at all, but the way he used to make them under him was never ethical, it was unethical of course finding everything and anything about them and exploiting it to make them obey. manipulation in simple words. Jinchul's soft calming reassuring presence and touch was enough to make them believe every word he uttered he had the tounge of the serpent. Then he got the title 'the golden a-rank' anything to do with gold and holiness he got that nickname and grew in fame in Korea and among the circle of the world Hunters.

jinchul always wore the orthodox cross necklace and his dressing scheme was black and white it just made him looke more holy?. he used his manipulation to make others in check with the law as he didn't bothered or wished to be in others presence he loved the calm and quite he craved the silence of not being around any existing creature. Contradictory to the previous statement he found it fascinating to be around the S-rank hunters they were different...... morally empty and didn't hesitate to show it off unlike jinchul they had the freedom to exercise their non humanity as no one dared to go against them. He watched observed them like they were some lab rats but he didn't do anything to them he wished for no more paperworks than how much he is buried in because of the said S-ranks.

that was until he met hunter Sung Jin-woo a rare jewel in the valley of pebbles. The first time he heard of him was when the young hunter came for the evaluation only to be a mere E rank but his determination for achieving great was out fo the world's believing he would quit in few raids maximum 10 raids, but the boy impressed him by going for 4 years, for his sister and mother he presumed he can't relate to that as he never had both. But he met him after the double dungeon incident for a revaluation.

The moment he laid his eyes on the hunter he knew no scratch that he felt there was something in that boy which was very different very foreign. Sung jin-woo looked like he was a highschooler not mrie than that with the baby face and big eyes, but somethings different. Jin chul has dealt with many hunters and monsters alike which held similarity with eachother a small connection which still kept them human or the latter a monster but that trace was nowhere in hunter Sung, he might be overreacting but he can feel that. the readings in the machine showed that his magic affinity is only 10, but he felt that weird power in him which deflected his, something different his mind kept in repeating but he left it there in the hospital. that is until few days later hunter Sung's name showed up in an dungeon massacre with a D-rank he showed his face there for formalities and warned the boy ahead as the person how died was the brother of an S-rank and him and the d-rank are on the target list.

But what bothered him was hunter Sung has grown not a little but too much he went from a highschooler cute boy, to a uni student who is as tall as him eye to eye, nobody goes through a growth spurt in one week. the boy who couldn't keep an eye contact looking right at him with his grey eyes whi h showed boldness, the uneasiness about him is still there but he brushed it away he is busy with new sets of paperworks either way. The next time he met him was in an dungeon case where he had to be present because of his lack of attention this happened kang Tae shik killed the inmates and attempted to kill them but a traumatized b-rank healer and one armless c-rank was able to take down a trained b-rank with stealth that seemed stupid but he wrote it down cuz that's easier for him and them. He got this position because of how observant he was. He watched the way hunter Sung's eyes widened and their heart rate changed when they gave their testimony but he didn't care even though he knew it was hunter Sung Jin-woo who killed kang Tae shik, like that the case closed.

Later they kept on meeting eachother quite often but the change really came as a shocker when they met in the evaluation center where he had to babysit no he meant he had to supervise a superstar  who annoyed and drew out the last nerve out if him, his saint persona going to waste but he managed. Hunter sung now was way taller than, he was a head taller than him that he had to crane his neck up to look at him in the eyes. Sung jin-woo he looked very much opposite of Jin chul.

Jin chul had an athletic lean fit similar to hunter Sung but more to the lean side, Jin chul had the most beautiful golden locks of hair cascaded down his shoulders Which is neatly styled in step cuts and split in the middle to the sides, his golden eyes bright like the sun, with few earrings he have on his ears, he looks very foreign in Korea. But Hunter sung looked very much Korean with his jet black hair and steel grey eyes his pudding like haircut not the ugly type but the good type it looked good on him, he was tall, very tall, taller than the average a way to find him if lost in crowd, but if Jin chul's lost he is never lost but if someone loose him his golden hair will be a great giveaway.

Jin chul was aware his sexual orientation was none because he was never interested in romance or anything but everytime he looked at hunter Sung he wanted something more from him but he never knew what that felling was. it wasn't until today it was an obsession? Or maybe love is this how love felt like, he wondered but if it is love or not he wants hunter sung for himself that's for sure. And from that day onwards he tired his best to be around hunter sung well he didn't need to try at all he was thrown there along with more papers, the accursed paperworks he has to complete them before he can go with hunter sung to their little hang outs they had every few days, but the paper works also helped strengthen their relationship in a way whenever jinchul worked late Jin woo would come there with a coffee for small talk or just sit there staring at him work.

just 4 months from the realisation that he loved Jin-woo they kissed under the moonlight. Jin-woo's lips were soft and cold just like the snow he ate when he lived in Russia. It was a small kiss but with so much of emotion and longniness of wanting it to do long time ago. They kissed again this time deeper and more passionate.

they were ready to start a relationship from that night onwards. They were opposites yet they complimented and  perfectly fit eachothers company. The small screwdriver which Jin chul needed to tighten his screws and sanity was Jin woo. Other than the constant flirting Jin chul get from other hunters he was very much happy and content with how his life was going but everything has to come to an end, Jin-woo told his plan about the cup of reincarnation, Jin chul wanted to speak back to ask him not to do it but he saw the sufferings of other people he knew he had to let Jin woo do it, promising to find him in his next life, with that hope he allowed jin-woo to do it. Jinchul had no one worth calling family in this world other than Jin-woo, Jin-woo's family and go gunhee who was killed Prior he had no one :(.

Jinchul stood without his armour which he found too bulky to move around in, he killed each and every monster with his polearm. He took out everything which came out of the gate along with other  S-rank hunters, his golden mana surrounded him and his attacks had a tint of red and purple as he took out monster after monster, knowing that he is one too. Being to engrossed in killing he didn't realize one has sneaked in and stabbed him right below his heart but he was quick enough to wipe th monster's head out and continue, he went for a quick healing to one of the healers who made the bleeding stop but the exhaustion was catching up to him when he continued killing the swamp of monsters. Slowly the numbers decreased to zero then he saw the people who were declared dead come out of the gate alive??? And well?? What the hell, he didn't see that coming it was not part of the plan his golden eyes searched for Jin woo in the crowd till he saw the man walk out he left the breath which he didn't know he was holding in. Chapter Text

Jin chul felt cold, just like the nights he sat under the moonlight wishing at the stars and the moon for love......Jin chul slowly opened his eyes, adjusting to the bright light of his surroundings.

He removed his double tinted glasses and just stared at wherever he is. 

The whole room was otherworldly in its own way, there stood giant pillars of white marbles and gold platings and incarnate designs on each of the  pillars around the giant platform. There stood a lot of beautiful marble statues. each the size of the statue of liberty. 

one statue kneelling in an offering position holding its hands out with a crown in its hand. The other looked up to the sky with an expression seeking forgiveness and hands clasped to its heart. The other holding a giant lyre. One statue had giant wings with halo over its head. 

Between each of the unarmed statues there were statues which were armed with various weapons and armour. 

Some statue were in a weeping position crystal like tears on their face as if they have lost their last hope for salvation. There were also statues with wings varying sizes and the pairs of wings they had. The coloured glass windows of temple had beautiful arts depicting some events. 

There were two statues at the gates or doors of the temple? With a spear and a sword in each of their hands respectively (learnt this 'respectively' from maths °^°). They guarded a giant door which was just a grandeur of wealth and art, the gold crafted door with Handels made out of gems and the art and cravings on the door held so much elegance and meaning of ancient story of some sort Which humans were never able to find out about. 

But Jin chul's eyes were drawn to the figure in the middle of the room. A being with a sharp face, it's face and hair held a white glow, no it was white. it wore a white long gown like clothing which was as white as it's skin, the dim golden bronze crown which had a halo behind it head with few spikes on the crown like that of a star. The beings bright golden eyes were terrifying yet beautiful as it reminded him of his own eyes bright golden pulsating with life and power. This was the same figure but as a statue in the double dungeon where sung Jin woo woke up as the shadow Monarch, but a more cleaner holy and alive version? 

Jin chul stared at the being, as the being slowly In a melodramatic way pointed it's long fingers towards jinchul, which could easily crush him in its grasp (he will not think negative first). Jin chul just sucked in his breath. Bracing himself for whatevers coming to him. 

The being spoke in a very soft soothing manner opposite to its appearance (no its appearance was very beautiful but the fear in jinchul is not to letting him think positive)

"Woo Jin chul!"

Jin chul just stared and the least he could do was give a small nod. 

The being continued getting the confirmation.

"I am the absolute being, I am positive you are aware who I am" 

Jin chul nodded as he let out the breath he was holding and gave a shaky 'yes'. 

"I have brought you here for a task (entertainment), help the shadow monarch in killing the other monarchs" 

Jin chul's eyes widened he was picked for this task, why? He wondered. The absolute being could have choose Jin woo, or Thomas andre or anyone of the S-rank but why him? And didn't jin-woo killed all the monarchs????Jin chul Mustered up the courage to ask the being in front of him. 

"Why me?" 

His voice was shaky and he berated himself in his mind for showing weakness in front of the god. 

The being smiled (not the weird pedo kind of smile which the architect made the statue of the being do before), but a gentle one. 

"Simple, you're more fit for this job than anyone you perfectly fit in the criteria, and the power level don't worry about that, that's something I can fix in an instant" 

The being said in a monotonous tone but the underlying mirth was not hidden, as he pointed at jinchul, Signaling jinchul to look at his own body. 

Jinchul did what the absolute being Motioned him to do he looked at his body and he almost shrieked In terror. The marble floors were polished to it's prime that he could see his own reflection. 

Jinchul's golden hair which previously reached over his shoulders now cascaded below his knees in a neat step cut and split in the middle (similar to Gabriel from Mandela catalogue) his golden hair glowed unnaturally so where his eyes it had an addition of a white four sided star instead of his natural circular pupils. Jin chul noticed on his forehead he had a mark of a four sided star with a cross in the middle. and floating above his head instead of a circular halo was a string of plenty white four sided stars together forming a crown. He had the same crown but on his neck. Jinchul tried to touch the one on his neck but it was craved onto his skin like tattoo, even on his wrist so is the one on his forehead which glowed a beautiful golden and white. (Jin chul thinks this is some kind of shackles) 

Jinchul also had 3 pair of  golden white wings sprouting right behind his ears and his ears were long like that of the elves. He had 2 pair of wings sprouting from right behind his head, (how will he sleep now??). He also had 3 pair of magnificently large white with golden trimmed wings sprouting right from his back(now he can't really sleep), which he could move (that was stupid to think after all this is sort of his own body now) Gladly his skin complexion looked very much normal other than his arm up to his elbow being covered in golden colour which faded and merged with the pale complexion of his skin at the end of his elbows. His nails were unnaturally long and sharp similar to people with long artificial nailsm Jin chul slowly ran his tounge over his teeth to find his teeth indeed has gotten sharper similar to that of the vampires he have read about in fairytales. 

Jinchul just looked at the absolute being with wonder shock and just confusion. 

The being smiled down at him in the same gentle manner with an underlying tone which said he is planning. 

"Now you have immense powers and I will not be sending you bare handed to the job, I will give you some gifts you will know more my child when you reach there" 

The absolute  being stood up and looked down at jinchul slowly carefully picking him up and placing him in its palm. 

Jinchul shrieked when he was picked up by the being, he knew this was not his end but the uncertainty of the future is what terrified him. 

The absolute being just stared rubbing jinchul on the crown of his head softly with its index finger which is as big as jinchul, jinchul could hug the finger like its some kind of body pillow (how much ever jinchul wants to close his eyes and sleep he wouldn't do that that's disrespectful) (jinchul is like a small doll in absolute beings palm) 

The absolute being spoke in a soft tone. 

"Sleep my child, once you open your eyes everything will be set"{fatherly moment with the absolute being I like this lol} 

Jin chul could only nod as a sweet melody was played in the temple he could only guess thats its from the statue who had the lyre, and the soothing rub the being gave on the  crown of its head was enough to lull jinchul to sleep. Jinchul wrapped himself with his wings around his body and comfortably slept in the palm of the being. The small smile gracing his lips didn't went unnoticed by the absolute being(this is how mothers must've lulled their children to sleep, something jinchul wished for a long time)

This time jinchul awoke tot he sound of someone cooing?? Wtf. Jinchul quickly opened his eyes and what he saw were two people hovering above wherever he was laying. The lady had a beautiful white silver hair not because of ageing merely its her hair  color she had the most beautiful pair of blue eyes jinchul has every seen they were as beautiful the ocean and the skies. Her face was very sharp and her lips were a bright red, she wore simple set of jewellery and a crown made out of sapphire which matched her appearance, all in all she was very pretty. {After typing i realised this sounded like the female version of gojo} 

The man next to her was just.....handsome, he had a small smile, thats all he showed. One of his hands were wrapped around the lady, so that means they're a couple. The man had long silky straight golden hair with black strands here and there, his eyes were hetrochromic golden and red with slits in them, and he too wore a crown which was very simple and had an imperial topaz with imperial flame topaz. his face was sharp and appearance wise he is a 10/10 (jinchul has worked with a lot of people so he knows how to rate). But what caught his attention was the the four sided star symbol on the man's forehead, similar to his but the man in front of him had no cross but instead a red mini four sided star inside the white one. 

Jinchul just stared at both of them as they were also staring back. He slowly lifted his hands only to realise they were they size of a baby's arm, jinchul started crying (he didn't want to but this damn body is just doing everything according to its wish) . 

The pretty lady took him in her arms and slowly lulled him, jinchul didn't want to sleep but it was so comfortable in her arms he just slept. He always wished for a mother who would take care of him lull him to sleep sing lullabies for him so it was a dream come true for him even though hes not a child, he slowly closed his eyes drifting to the Dreamland. 

(Time skip)

Jinchul slowly opens his eyes and realize that he is back in his crib and it's till morning the sun haven't moved much from where it was. he gazed out of the window. Not being able to move any of his limbs much he just lay there and stare at the ceiling which is very pretty and has exquisitive art designs on them. suddenly a blue screen flickered to life in front of him which scared the living shit out of him.

jinchul just stared at the words above him. Is this a threat. It looks like threat I mean it is threat who would say 'will be met with painful end' he was sane,.... he was calm... he was okay... he was alive... he was perfectly fine...gwenchana gwenchanyo. so he choose yes. he couldn't move his limbs he was wrapped like a burrito in a a blanket he just looked at the screen and mentally spoke 'yes' he hoped that would work.

You're the crown prince of the 'Sol aureus' empire.

You're the villain who is destined to die first in the hands of the hero] 

'rise of the shadow emperor'. A novel which was famous world wide after sung jin-woo became a national level hunter. It was a story depicting a medival era, how the protagonist lives in a very bad condition with his mother and sister and being the lowest of the food chain, then after that a god blesses him and him rising in powers with the help of the princess and kills all the aristocrats and all the people who treated him like mud, starting with the crown prince who is apparently him now. Then he goes on conquering the whole world and yada yada he becomes the shadow emperor with a very large harem and power. He doesn't even remember the charecters name for god's sake and how they look😐 This story was inspired by Jin wood's rise in power ofc that made it more funnier. 

Jinchul still remembers jin-ah reading the explicit parts of the book loudly to Sung Jin-woo and him. He ignored jin-woo the whole week and made him sleep on the couch (he did this as a joke but jin-woo was all sad the whole week and it was a headline) and Jinchul had to apologize and to let him sleep on the bed and give him plenty of cuddles. The cuddles also made up for his lost sleep due to paperworks made by his beloved and the other S-ranks (babies)-_- he also had to make him promise that this would never happen him having a harem and all it pissed him off he hated sharing. But he was willing to be shared but he won't share.🤷🏼♂️ (It is what it is)

The screen in front of jinchul started flickering as new words appeared on them

jinchul looked a the flickering screen. What the hell is this system saying he will live, no matter what he have to he don't want to die. And he has to make the protagonist raise in power. Why? Oh yeah! So that he won't be killed duh 🙄.how can he be stupid. First of all he have to find the name of the protagonist if he is not wrong the author named the protagonist harry or is it Harlow, he's not sure 😃 step one he fucked up wounderfully, he sighed he don't have time for that now, and build connections sure he will do that. 'yes' he thought as the screen flickered again and showed new information.

Jinchul sighed can a baby even sigh, if no, then he's the first. For god's sake he's just a baby and why the hell Is the system asking him to train, well it didn't ask me train but whatever his stats are ok ok for a child it's impressive. So what the hell is he supposed to do now well he can't do much so he will just lay here. He wonders if he will get S-rank in this world he was just a hair strand away from being an S-rank last lifetime.

Jinchul sighed as he laid there not doing much. Then he heard the sound of doors closing and opening it is the people from before, the lady and they guy, must be his parents. He thought. The man came and took him in his arm cradling the child burrito figure of him.

Jinchul just stared at the man's hetrochrimic red and golden eyes, with a blank face just staring at eachother as the woman watched both of them silently with a smile, the father and son duo was locked in a staring competition Until a screen appeared Infront of jinchul again he is sure he didn't ask the system to come here.

Jinchul looked shocked he was out of words what is this man, his stats are all 100 he's at his prime wth. So jinchul can reach his level, that means his potential is maximum now, if he were to be like his father he will be in a great place and will be able to help fight the monarchs.

He looked at his mother hoping she would carry him so he can see her stats. 

The mother smiled at him sweetly as she held him in her arms and cradled him, the screen flickered again showing new informations.
