Chapter Text
Moving to another school during the last year of high school and in the second week, where the work actually becomes hard, was annoying to say the least. Having to learn a whole new lesson and having to have new teachers who all teach differently will be hard, but, I’ll pull through…hopefully. Walking along the sidewalk, my book bag jolts around slightly with every step, jostling around the notebooks inside, along with some different pencil boxes filled with an assortment of different drawing supplies. Looking around, I notice another girl walking along the same path as me, and I slouch slightly, deciding to slow down slightly to not walk next to her.
Walking slower now, I look around and notice how quiet it is, other than the occasional bird chirp or leafs being blown about, it’s silent. I notice the school up ahead, and the girl seems to pause, sigh, and heads in. Looking at the school, it’s pretty big, and slightly intimidating, but I decide to still head in. As soon as I do, I’m greeted with a bunch of people running about, throwing balled up paper around, though some just stand and talk with each other. The girl from before walks along them like it’s an everyday thing, and I decide to just follow after her. After a bit, she enters a classroom, where I catch a glance of a short haired teacher waiting in the class for the day to begin. Looking around, I notice the students begin heading into classrooms, and I sigh slight, before heading into the classroom with the short haired teacher and the girl from before.
Almost immediately, all the eyes snap to me, and I just stand there for a second, before heading over to the teacher, who looks me up and down, and her eyes seem to shake slightly, before she glances at my face, and her eyes goes back to normal “yes?” She ask, her tone sounding agitated. Looking back at the class, I notice they’re still staring at me, which causes me to turn back to the teacher, before I answer her “I’m new here, I…don’t know where to go to get a schedule.” She hums slightly, before she uses her…why the fuck does she have a paper cutter for an arm?! Shouldn’t- “hey! Stop standing there, head to miss circles class, she’s the one right next to this one, now go.” She states, interrupting me from my thoughts, and once again pointing her paper cutter at the door, I nod quickly, and walk out of the classroom.
Looking to where the teacher said, I go to the closed door of the classroom, and knock on it, causing the voice inside to pause, before footsteps come up to the door, a woman…a very, very tall woman opens the door, and tilts her head at me “yes?” She asks, I have to tilt back slightly to look up at her, but when I do, I speak to her “I’m, new here, I don’t know where to go to get my schedule.” I repeat what I said to the teacher from before, and “miss circle” nods, then she heads back into the room, gesturing for me to follow her…which is when I notice the pencil she has had for a arm, along with what looks like a eraser, though it has a little slit, like something could poke out of it. Following her, she gets back behind her desk, before her eyes flicker to the lone boy in the class, and then they flick back down to her desk. “Name?” She asks suddenly, I pause, before answering “(Y/n)” I state, she nods slightly, before digging around in her desk, she then hums slightly, before pulling out a paper that has a bunch of sticky notes on it, I notice some say something about Oreos, though most just state a date, one sticks out, it having my name on it, and my old school name.
She then takes the sticky note off, and looks closer at it, squinting her eyes, she then smiles slightly, though it’s more like a smirk. “Here you go, you’ll stay with me for the first bit, then you’ll head to miss Emily’s, black haired girl with glasses, she teaches engineering, then you’ll head to miss grace, who is temporarily teaching art, she’s the principal of school normally. Then you’ll head to miss bloomie, short haired girl, decently short as well, who teaches science, and then you’ll go to lunch with her as well. Then you’ll head to miss thavel, who has abc blocks on her head, she teaches languages. After that, you’ll have a free period before school ends, understand?” Nodding slightly, she hands me a piece of paper, which has the room numbers on it, and the teachers name, I notice miss bloomie is the one that I first saw, while the other three I don’t know, but I’m excited to meet miss grace, since she’s art. Miss circle then gestures towards one of the empty tables, and says “you can sit, I have to talk to someone who failed a test.” I nod slightly, and sit at one of the far tables, away from the boy and miss circle so I don’t disturb them. I take out my notebook, and start to draw little doodles, though I glance up when I hear something slam into a desk, I see miss circle had slammed her penciled arm onto the desk, and the boy cowers slightly, the eraser on her arm, or what I thought was a eraser, produces a sharp blade, and miss circle grins at the boy, who in turn yells slightly, flinching, before running out into the hall. Deciding that, yes, I’d like to live today, I just stay in my seat, though not long after, a girl peaks into the classroom, three blocks hanging on her head, and she glances around, grimacing at the broken desk, before her eyes flicker to me, and her frown turns into a slight smirk. “Well, hello, since circle isn’t in here, nor is Abbie, I’ll presume your the new one she told me about?” Nodding slightly, the girl, who I guess is Thavel from what miss circle told me. Thavel walks into the room, and lazily sits on the chair that was left unharmed during miss circles rage against the failing student. She then spins around in it slightly, and just sits there. Going back to drawing, I decide to try and draw Thavel, who has now stop spinning, and is now just laying her chin on her large claw. Looking back at her, then my drawing, she glances at me, but doesn’t say anything, just watches. After about forty five minutes, I finish the drawing, and glance at the finished piece and Thavel, making sure there aren’t any big mistakes. Though noticing I’m done, Thavel gets up, and stands behind me, leaning over my shoulder, her clawed hand laying on my shoulder, and I just stay still, feeling my heart start to beat out of my chest due to nervousness.
I really hope she didn’t mind me drawing her, otherwise, I’d like to not know what her claws can do to my flesh. Though I feel her claw tighten on my shoulder, she lets go soon after, and grins down at me. “So, you’re an artist huh? You’ll do good in art class then. Hope you don’t fall behind in your other ones though, less you want to get punished~” She states, her grin widening, and she walks back to the chair, before miss circle enters again, a grin on her face…and…blood, blood is all over her mouth, while even more is around her clothes and on her pencils and erasers/blade. Not noticing that I’m still here, she speaks once she’s in the room. “Thavel, take Abbie and Lana off the attendance, one failed his test, and the other got too curious for her own good.” Laughing slightly, miss circle walks to Thavel, who in turn just stares at her slightly, her eyes flick to me, and she sighs, “Circle, you realize the new one is here, right?” She states. Miss circles eyes widen before she turns towards me, blood flying slightly for her blade when she turns so suddenly. Her eyes then go back to normal, and she just smiles slightly, her blade retracts, and she walks towards me. I don’t move, though my body shaking gives away how scared I am. Miss circle looms over me and smiles widely, before Thavel lays a claw on circles arm, she grins slightly, and points at the open notebook, which causes miss circle to glance at it, and her eyes widen slightly when she sees the drawing I did of miss Thavel.
Nobody does anything, though a few minutes later, the bell rings, which causes me to immediately pack my stuff up, though I just stare at miss circle and miss Thavel, , who are still just grinning and staring at me, and I ask “I……I won’t tell anyone, but could one of you lead me to my class? Please?” Smiling slightly, miss circle walks towards me, the blood being licked off her face by herself, though some of it still stains her shirt. She walks ahead of me, and gestures for me to follow, which I do, putting my book bag on my back, I wave goodbye to Thavel, and she just grins, and waves back slightly.
Following after miss circle, we walk through the students who are going to their next class, after a bit, we reach another classroom door. She nods at me slightly and leaves, I head into the classroom, and notice that there are more students in here then there was in miss circles class, I go over to the teachers desk, the girl smiles at me slightly. “Hi there, are you new?” Nodding, she then gestures around the classroom seats. “You can sit with whoever you want, I’ll begin class shortly!” Nodding, I look around at the tables who all have someone at them. Looking at the two boys and the one girl, they seem like the trouble makers, so I avoid them, I notice the girl from when I was walking to the school, and I decide to sit with her, setting my book bag down softly on the floor, and taking out my notebook, along with a language arts book that I had brung for class. Miss Emily, whose name I see on the board, starts handing out papers, and pauses when she gets to me. She thinks for a moment, before deciding to skip me, I look over at the girls paper, and notice it looks like a test. Glancing around the room, various machines litter the walls.
Miss Emily hands out the last paper, before gesturing for me to come up to her desk. Walking over there, one of the people from the trouble maker table throw a piece of paper at me, and they snicker when it bounces off, but I just ignore them, turning my head away from them slightly. Once I get to miss Emily’s desk, she pulls out a piece of paper, which says at the top of it in bold “engineering assessment test.” She hands me the paper, and smiles slightly “this’ll help me figure out where your at, and how much I need to help you before I let you take the test, but we’ll work on that tomorrow that way I can help you get a little more time in for studying, for now, just do whatever, as long as your quiet, I don’t mind what you do.” Smiling at me, she waves her hand slightly, gesturing toward my seat, which I walk towards, and sit down at once I get there. I silently take out my pencil, and open up my notebook to draw. Looking around, I try to see what I could draw, when my eyes land on the girl in front of me. Deciding to not disturb her, I start to sketch out something else, not really wanting to draw someone without their permission again. I sketch out the table, and some of the little doodles on the wall, adding onto to them.
After a few minutes, the girl gets up and hands in her paper, after about a hour, everyone else has turned their papers in, and the bell rings just as the last student gets back to their seat, everyone rushes out, while I stay behind, walking up to miss Emily, who smiles at me, and like a lot of people today, gestures for me to follow her to my next class, which is miss grace, who I’m the most excited for. After walking me to my next class, miss Emily waves goodbye, and walks back to her classroom, and I walk inside miss graces room. Noticing that she’s the only one in the room. She glances up at me, silently staring, before gesturing towards one of the empty canvas spaces. I excitedly walk towards the nearest one, and set my book bag down, carefully avoiding laying it on the canvas, and look around, seeing that a lot of the art supplies is on one table. waiting for miss grace to do something before I start, I notice that she is reading a paper, her hand in her hair, while her eyes flick across the page. Deciding not the bother her, I get a few brushes, and decide to paint a painting of the room, slowly doing so, making sure to not make that many mistakes, though while doing this, I get into my own mind, and just paint, not noticing I had painted miss grace while I was mindlessly painting.
Of course, after about an hour, this is the time when miss grace gets up, and comes over to me, and like before with miss Thavel, I just stay still while miss grace stands behind me, not saying anything for a moment, but then she just pats my head slightly, and goes back to her desk. Leaving me and the painting alone. After a few minutes of touching up the painting after that, i decide to put the supplies back, while making sure to wash the brushes throughly, and drying them off afterwards. As soon as I get back to the little stool I sat on, the bell rings, and I pick up my stuff, walking up to miss grace, she gets up, and gestures for me to follow her, doing so, I notice miss bloomie standing outside of her classroom, watching some students go in, and when she notices me through the crowd of students, she grins widely, and gestures towards her door. Miss grace pats my shoulder one more time, before heading back to her class. I head over to miss bloomie’s class, and walk inside, noticing the girl from this morning is in here as well, though this time instead of tables, it’s a bunch of desks. Taking a seat near the front, the class is completely full after an only a few minutes, and miss bloomie walks in after a bit.
She walks over to the board, and talks about certain methods that are used to solve certain methods. She then calls on some people to match the method to which problems, some get it right, and all she does then is just go onto the next one, after a bit, she assigns everyone a partner to grow a plant over the course of a few weeks, and every week we’d have to take notes on changes, and what process were used to help the plant grow, the environment it was in, and what would change if certain things changed. While calling out partners, she then gets to the end of the list, though while everyone else gets with their partner, I notice she didn’t assign me one, which I guess makes sense, considering she probably planned this a while ago, walking up to where the plants are, I notice that the last one is a Venus flytrap. Smiling slightly, I pick up the barely sprouted plant, looking at the little note that states what type of soil it needs in case any spills. Walking back to my desk, the class all talks to each other, ignoring me, though I don’t mind, considering I don’t know anyone in this. Before I can sit down, miss bloomie gestures for me to come to her desk, and I do so, nervously glancing at her cutter arm, I pay attention to her when she talks “since you don’t have a partner, I’ll let you partner with a teacher.” Then a grin appears on her face, and her tongue peaks out slightly “though as much as I’d love to see you try this alone, I’d rather have you pass, so, who’d you want for a partner?” She ask, though it seems sarcastic, like she knows who I’ll pick. Thinking for a moment, every teacher I could think of would probably be too busy to help out in the mornings, other than…”I choose miss circle.” I see miss bloomies eyes widen, before she shrugs slightly “your choice, let me guess, chose her because she doesn’t have a lot of kids in her classes?” Nodding slightly, miss bloomie laughs “ahaha! Well, you’d be wrong, most of the time circle allows her kids to do whatever, so must just go hang out with Sasha, some of the kids stay if they want to study, but most people are too scared of her, and me, and Thavel…yeah just go to her.” Nodding slightly, she waves towards the door with her cutter, and says “you can go tell her, the rest of class would be just talking about the plants you all got, yours has a note I put on there, so you’ll be fine.” Nodding again, I go back to my desk and grab my stuff, waving slightly to miss bloomie when I leave, and head to miss circles class.
Walking down the hall to her class, I pass Thavel’s class, when she notices me through the little window, she grins, but goes back to teaching. Continuing to walk to miss circles class, I see that there’s a bunch of doodles on the walls, most of them being miss circle. While some have the other teachers and students. Walking to her door, I notice it’s cracked open, and I knock gently on it, hearing no response, I open the door, and head inside…oh…Miss Circle is at her now fixed desk, a huge thing of Oreos on it, and she’s munching on them, a huge smile on her face, with her eyes closed. Standing there for a moment, I clear my throat, which causes miss circle to pause, her eyes slowly opening, when she spots me, she grins, and munches on the rest of the Oreo in her mouth, and swallows it. “Yes?” She ask, putting the Oreas in her desk, and I walk over to her, holding up the Venus flytrap so she can see it. “Miss bloomie, wanted us to take care of a plant for a science project, and to note down all the processes that help the plant grow over the week, while also noting the environment, and what would help or harm the plant if something change in the place it’s in. And… since I’m new, miss Bloomie didn’t have an assigned partner for me, so she said I could pick a teacher. And I chose you.” Humming slightly, miss circle stretches, before gesturing for me to come closer.
Doing so slowly, she gets up from the chair, and brings me closer herself, dragging me to the chair. She then sits back down, and grabs the plant from my hands, setting it down on the desk, while she grips me, and pulls me close to her, hovering over me her lap, her eyes staring down at me, she grins, and cuts the straps of my book bag off with her pencil arm, causing it to fall into her lap, she then sets me down on her lap as well, and I feel heat rise to my face, she uses her blade to cut my bag open, and she picks up my notebook, throwing it on my lap gently, she then states “draw me like you did with Thavel.” Staring up at her, I freeze. she smiles slightly, thinking I’m just trying to get some details, but when she notices I don’t move, she scowls, and raises her blade/pencil arm up, which causes me to flinch, and for me to grab my notebook and a pencil, and I start to sketch her out, trying to not mess up any since I don’t feel like dying. After a bit of sketching out her shape, I start to add the details, making sure to try and include her long hair, and trying to include the sharp teeth. After a while, I finish the drawing, and almost immediately miss Circle grabs the notebook out of my lap, and holds it up to her face, smiling when she sees the drawing, she drops the notebook back down to me, and pats my head. “Good, I’ll brag to Bloomie about it later, for now, just sit with me, I’ll help you bring your stuff to Thavel’s class later.” Nodding slightly, I just sit stiffly in her lap while she grabs the Oreos back from her desk, and she munches on them, thinking back on it, I’m surprised she hasn’t killed me yet, considering I know she killed two people, Abbie and Lana I think is what she said? Is she just keeping me alive since I can draw? Shaking my head slightly, I ignore those thoughts for now and decide to wait till I get back to my apartment before I think about it. After sitting in miss circles lap for what feels like hours, the bell finally rings, and before I could bolt out of there, miss circle picks up all of my stuff with one hand, and smiles at me, the walks out of the classroom, presumably to miss Thavel’s. Walking for a bit, the students avoiding miss Circle like the plague, while the three troublemakers seem to wave at her and smile wide, though being behind her, I can’t see what miss Circle does, I presume it was something they liked, since they continue to smile and walk along.
After a bit, we reach miss Thavels class, Miss circle heads in, and ignoring the rest of the student already in there, along with miss thavel, she sets my stuff on one of the front desk, and then leaves, giving me one last pat on the head, before she leaves, when I turn to go my seat, I notice miss Thavel glaring at where miss Circle was, but I ignore it, and go to my seat, notice that miss Circle somehow left a little smile face note on my notebook, I smile slightly at it, and put it inside my notebook with miss Circles drawing on it. After a bit, the classroom fills up, and miss Thavel begins to teach, starting off with a few different ways some sentences are said, some of them being in English, some in Spanish, Japanese, and many other languages, following along and taking notes, I make sure to write out the words and sentences, along with repeating it to myself, and writing out how to pronounce it, after a long while of doing this, miss Thavel starts to call on some students to try and match the sentences with which one is the same in a different language, surprisingly, unlike miss bloomie, miss Thavel calls on me first “Mx (Y/n)? What sentence match’s with its counter part?” Looking at the board, then back to my notes, I look at the sentence she’s pointing at, then look on the right side, looking for the correct one, after a moment, I find it, and point it out, Miss Thavel grins slightly, and nods, calling on other students afterwards, who don’t take as long as me, but some don’t get it right, which causes miss Thavel to scowl and correct them, then she calls on the next student. After a awhile of miss Thavel doing this over and over with different sentences, the bell rings, and when the students pack up, miss Thavel reminds us that “don’t forget, your test will be next week, so study for it, and pass it.” She states, no one says anything, so I nod at her, and she smiles back slightly, her sharp teeth glinting a little. Leaving the classroom, I notice the girl from miss Emily’s class walking with a boy who looks like he has little feathers on his head, noticing we are going the same way down the halls, I decide to stay back for now, considering they seem to be deep in a conversation already. Once I get outside, I walk by the two who stopped to talk to another boy, and head to my apartment. After a ten minute walk, I get to my apartment, and head to my floor and door, getting inside it, I put my stuff down, and grumble about needing a new book bag, after changing out of my clothes and into nightwear clothes, I go to my little bed, and lay down, glad that my parents let me live on my own. After a little bit of laying down, and thinking about the day, I finally fall asleep.
