"God, could you imagine what Sammy would think of us now?" Kat says, totally out of the blue

"Honestly he probably would have seen it coming" remarks Abigail

"Yeah, he was always quite good at understanding feelings, wasn't he" Tara as she leans into Abigail's side and watches with delight as Kat is trying her best to climb a close by tree

"Yeah, I don't think he knew how good he was at getting inside people's heads and changing them for the better"

"Speaking from experience there, Abby?"

"Shut up"

Tara leans forward, "What made you bring this up?"

By this point Kat has made it into the tree, "This place, me and Sammy had a few afternoon picnics right here"

"On this bench?"

"I hear the sarcasm in your tone Abigail, but yes this bench is actually where I came out to him"

"You came out to him?" Tara asks, the wistfulness in her voice as obvious as the blue of the sky

At that Kat climbs down from the tree and slides herself in between her two girlfriends, "Yeah, it was just this weird spur of the moment thing. It was just some random afternoon, I think it was when I was kind of dating Christian and I was just talking about bullshit and it kind of came spilling out"

Surprisingly it's Abigail who talks next, "I almost told him about me, I didn't quite know but I knew there was something and there was a night, near the end, that I almost I told him, told him what? Who the hell knows, But I wish I had had the guts to say what I wanted to say, I wish he had known"

Kat is the one to talk next, only now fully realising what a gift she had had to have been able to tell someone they all loved about something they all shared with him, "Even though you never got to tell him this I hope you know that he loved and knew you both so much, god, Sammy loved so hard and freely"

"Yeah, he sure as hell loved" Tara sighs, grabbing Abigail's hand and nudging her to grab Kat's

After a little while Abigail continues as if the conversation hadn't come to somewhat of an end "And he was so loved."
