Chapter 1: Peter just wants to shrivel up and die
Chapter Text
It was the Avengers bi weekly meeting and they were still on edge. It wasn’t alien Invasion level worry, but the last mission had left everyone shook. It had spiraled from something so minuscule that it had flown under everyone’s radar, and if it wasn’t for Peter and his knowledge on street level crime who would have known what would have happened.
Now the worry of two new vigilantes popping up out of nowhere had everyone tense. They weren’t actually that new, Clint had helpfully informed them. The two had fought in the streets for longer than the Avengers had been formed, but mostly worked against the smaller threats that the Avengers didn't.
But after a famously dangerous Organization that the Avengers had been tracking for a month had been taken down, the rumors had spread to even tony. And apparently it was due to the two red clad hero’s. Deadpool, who was often referred to as the merc with a mouth and daredevil, the man without fear. There was a spoken third that was said to be there, but for the life of him Tony wasn't able to track down who it was.
Now the hero’s were seated at the now vibranium table (tony had told Shuri that she didn't need to, but almost immediately after hulk had hurled it though the wall of the room that they were in.) as they discussed what they were to do.
“Clint, what else do you know about them?” Bruce asked, hoping to get more information about the two.
”I have already told you everything I know about them!” Clint said, putting his hand up defensively. “Hell the devil guy was more of a cryptid than not, I don't even know if he’s human at this point!”
”Is he enhanced?” Steve asked. Even though all the members on the team could handle themselves, who knew what the vigilantes could do if they were hostile. Especially to peter. He knew that the kid could hold his own but he was still just a kid, and whenever Steve came to the tower half of the time Tony’s freaking out because of another wound that the spider had managed to gain. And it wouldn’t be honest to say that he wasn’t also freaking the fuck out whenever the kid got hurt too.
Tony had given a suit to Peter that would relay black to Tony about what was happening during any of peters missions and whenever he got injured. But peter had managed to override the system, shutting it off for over half of the time he patrolled. Tony was both amused and extremely irritated about it but was unable to fix the problem. It was both a blessing and a curse that the kid was so smart.
”The pool guy is, he can regenerate and from what I’ve heard is impossible to kill. For the hornhead, I have no clue. But he’s almost as good a fighter as Nat, we can't rule him off yet.” Clint replied.
”So what do you think we should do about them?” Natasha asked, saying what everyone had been wondering the entire time since the meeting had started.
”I don't trust them,” Sam said, glancing towards tony. “We don't know enough about them to consider them safe and from deadpool's track record I would say that that option has already been thrown out of the window.” Bucky grunted in agreement, leaning against the corner wall of the room.
”they could be good allies if we give them a chance, we have already made enough enemies.” Bruce argued.
”Bruce is right, we need all the help we can get even if it means working unethically,” Steve said, shifting in his seat.
”they’re dangerous, who knows what they are willing to do next!” Sam said, slamming his hand on the table.
The conversation devolved into a fight, it was unfortunately a common sight whenever there was a meeting, it was something that they had always tended to fall into. Natasha raised her hand, everyone in the room quieting down immediately, Tony was thankful that everyone knew to listen to her.
“I believe that it would be best if we talk to them,” she said, earning a disapproving grunt from Bucky, “but we can't lower our guard, there are still strangers to us and putting any hope on them would be foolish.”
“I agree. Even though we shouldn’t trust them, we need more alliances in this line of work. And if they’re as good as I’ve heard it would be a great way to cover the more lower level crimes like Peter.” Clint commented, looking towards the vigilante.
“I don't know guys, most vigilantes don’t really like working with people like us.” Peter said, shrinking down even more as the rest of the Avengers turned to face him. Even though he was comfortable around them, they were still THE Avengers. And yes technically Peter was one too but he was more like an honorary member. They would try to keep him out of the bigger fights and he loved tony so much but he wasn't a little kid anymore! He was already sixteen! And may or may not be the missing member of team red (yes he and Ned will be workshopping the name).
”you’re working with us and you are a vigilante, who says they wouldn't too.” Captain America said. The other people around the table murmured in agreement, and never has Peter wanted to disappear more in his short life. Maybe he could secretly build a teleportation device in Tony's lab for moments like this, and if that doesn’t work he should just shrivel up and die.
“Yeah but I'm different! Most vigilantes hate being in teams, and the government!” He yelled, waving his hands around as he spoke.
”Peter, I know that you know more about vigilantes than us, but we should still make sure that they are on the same side as us even if they don't want to team up.” Tony said, giving Peter's shoulder a small reassuring shake as he did.
Peter just wanted to scream out everything. That he was working with them, and that they weren’t as bad as everyone says, that they were on the same side and they really didn't have to worry about the other red hero’s. but that would mean telling them that he was working with a dangerous mercenary and a guy who on average would beat people into comas at least two times a day. He knew that the Avengers were protective of him, he was the youngest member and he was pretty sure half of them were competing with tony to adopt him. So that option was definitely off the table.
“..yeah ok Mr. Stark” Peter said, internally preparing for his own funeral when Wade inevitably announced that Peter was working with him. He could try to bribe him with a two dollar sticker sheet of my little pony stickers but there was only a 50/50 chance that it would work.
“Everyone in favor of Natasha’s idea?” Tony asked. Everyone in the room held up their hand. “Now we just need to figure out how to get in contact with them..” Tony trailed off, looking down as he thought.
A chime went off, startling the man out of his thoughts. He looked towards Peter as the boy pulled the phone out of his hoodie pocket.
“Sorry guys, I've got to go, talk to you later!” Peter said as he jumped out of his running towards the door. The group was able to catch the caller id as Peter stumbled out to get the call. As soon as he got to the elevator Steve spoke up.
“Did it just say a “really good lawyer”?” He asked in case he read it wrong.
“Is Peter in legal trouble?” Bruce asked as he turned to tony.
”you’d be surprised with the amount of people trying to sue Spider-Man.” Tony said flatly.
Chapter Text
As Peter entered the elevator he answered the phone, hastily putting it up to his ear. The device's screen was on the verge of breaking off, the cracks running across the entirety of the object's glass. Before Peter had met Tony, this practically destroyed piece of hardware was the thing he used to communicate. After meeting the man, Tony almost immediately got a stark phone for him. Really he had tried to tell Tony that he didn't need such an expensive gift but unfortunately trying to convince a billionaire that you fought with in Germany was a little more difficult than what he expected.
The stark phone he had given him was much sleeker and sturdy than the one he had held in his hand. But he had learnt to not bring a phone to a job where there was a 85% chance to get slammed into a wall. He trusted Stark, but he was not all that great when it came to privacy. Both Karen and Friday were programmed into the mobile, and because of a few unsavory protocols, having the names of some of the most despicable vigilantes in his contacts might raise some alarms. So instead he kept his phone, and Mr. Stark still had no idea why.
A handful of grunts came through the small speakers and the noise of flesh hitting flesh echoed through the background.
”Sorry to call you now Peter, but wa-“ the sound of gunshots filled the room, trailed by the sounds of painful yells.
”Damn it Wade, we've agreed that you can't shoot anyone!” Matt yelled, seemingly throwing another punch against someone.
“For the record you said I couldn't ‘lethally shoot someone’. Shooting them in the legs won't kill them.” Wade stated, shooting another round. The sound of a man screaming followed suit. ”Ouch, that wasn't the legs.” He said as Peter heard the sound of his katanas being unsheathed through the phone.
“Peter,” Matt said breathily, “wade has some information of a new trafficking ring to do with kingpin. Weapons, and a lot of them.”
“I can't really talk right now.” Peter replied, still waiting for the elevator to get to the ground floor.
”Right, sometimes I forget you have school.” Matt replied while he applied another haste kick to one of the criminals.
”No worse, Stark tower,” Peter replied, moving aside as another person entered the elevator. The man looked to be in his late 20s, wearing a large white lab coat and holding a cup of coffee. He used to drink a copious amount of coffee (even though he hated the taste) before the spiderbite, but after because of his heightened metabolism he was unable to feel the effects of it. It was probably one of the things he missed the most after the incident, and seeing people who drank it still made him envyus at times.
“Is this because there’s that weird AI that records your every move?” Wade yelled over, a loud crunch accompanying the sentence. “What a woman.”
“And,” Matt continued, pausing to land a punch at another lackey. “why. Aren’t. You. At school.”
”It's not like they aren’t teaching me anything new! I won't be missing anything and the meeting was really important! Plus I snuck out so it’s like I never even left!” Peter squawked, waving his hands around as he mumbled more excuses. The other guy in the lift looks away when they make eye contact, drinking his coffee nervously as the door slid open.
As soon as there is enough space he books it out, slightly fumbling with his mug as he does. “Just tell me the details, we can discuss this when I'm suited up” Peter whispers as he walks out the elevator doors.
“We’ve found a lead but we still haven’t pinpointed where the next shipment is going to take place. It's looking to be near queens, so keep an eye out for now.” Matt replies, the sound of his ragged breaths continuing to cycle though.
“Yes sir!” Peter says, doing a small salute in habit.
“Just Stay safe Parker.” Matt replies, the call ending.
Peter stumbles out of the building, his feet catching the ground. A downside to his mutant powers was that whenever he was nervous he would stick to a surface. He has gotten better over time of course, Turing from all strong feelings to just when he was worried (he will never forget the day that he saw MJ in the hall and accidentally got stuck to flash’s locker). It got especially annoying during exams, when his papers would get stuck and he couldn't remove them without ripping anything.
He is used to doing the small stuff, like getting a cat out of a tree or walking granny’s across the road. Even when he had just started out with team red and none of them had known each other's identities, they could still sort of sense when something was out of his comfort zone. Double D had later informed him that it was because he could tell that Peter was a child but personally Peter still thought that he was pretty good at hiding that and it was just because of his abilities (he had pointed out that Wade didn't know but Matt reminded him that he was Wade).
But after he started working with the avengers it was like a flip was switched. First it was Germany, then he was taking down some of the biggest organized crime groups in the region. It all just happened, and if Peter was being honest it was satisfying being able to permanently put a stop to something. Even though he can stop as much street level crime as he wanted, someone else was always bound to pick up the mantle. But being able to directly stop the source felt like more of an accomplishment. He would still go home and do his rounds, but it just felt like another weight that has been lifted off his shoulders.
He walked to where the happy car was parked, greeting him as he hops in. As the vehicle drives onto the road, Peter's phone buzzes, a message popping up from wade.
Wade: Horn head wanted me to relay you that he will be telling May
”That basted” Peter said under his breath.

This is more of a filler chapter but please do excuse me while i try to figure out what the fuck i am doing.
Chapter Text
The drive felt longer than it needed to. Happy kept throwing him concerned glances through the rear view mirror, and had kept asking if he was alright. Peter only replied with small one worded responses, even when the other man tried to bring up some of his interests. It was something happy normally did whenever Peter was feeling down, and he could ramble for hours if the trip was long enough. Peter admitted it was a weakness of his, and how his villains of the week hadn't figured it out already was beyond him. But now all Peter could do was think.
The avengers were his family, and so was team red. He could never choose between the two, no matter what this stupid world threw at him, or threw him at. Normally it was a wall.
The car finally pulled up to the front of his apartment, the sudden stop pulling Peter out of his thoughts. The boy lifted his head off of his palm, looking around like he had forgotten he was going there in the first place. He grabbed his backpack, hauling it up to his shoulders with ease. The back pocket was still open, somehow not spilling all the contents of the bag.
“Bye, Happy.” Peter said, his voice drifting off. He closed the door as soon as Happy opened his mouth, likely another attempt at at least some semblance of a conversation before he left. Happy sighed, rubbing his left hand down his face as he did.
Peter quickly rushed away, eager to get out again as Spider-Man. When he was Spider-Man, it wasn’t something personal. He was a symbol of sorts for the citizens of his city, something they could still have faith in and could look up to. He felt like more, like he wasn’t just that Peter Parker nerd from midtown high. So when he was Spider-Man he didn't have to think like Peter Parker.
He could run away from all of the things that were overwhelming him. If flash was being a jerk, he’d clear his mind by becoming Spider-Man. I felt like the same should apply here, but this wasn’t just Peter Parker’s problem. This was Spider-Man’s problem as well. He couldn't just run around the city and catch bad guys until he was so tired he couldn't swing straight.
He knew he wasn’t acting like himself, but he just couldn't muster up the motivation to talk. Or to be more accurate, couldn't even figure out what to say. The conversations Happy was trying to bring up weren’t even that unique, but Peter wasn’t even able to do any small talk. It felt so childish, all the other avengers wanted to do was speak with the other vigilantes, and for some reason he felt like it was the end of the world. Really not everything in his life only applied to Murphy law, and if his peter luck didn't screw him over like it normally did nothing was likely to go bad at all. he really just needed one good day.
As Peter reached the door, a grunt caused him to look back. Happy looked like he was trying to look unimpressed, but the worry on his face was evident. Peter quickly looked away, and suddenly the door handle seemed really interesting.
“I know you can hear me peter.” Happy pushed, watching Peter as he rocked back and forth on his heels. For some reason out of his fight and flight mode, his body chose freeze.
”Just know that if anything happens, you can tell me right Pete?”
Peter stood there, his hand now sticking to the door handle. He took a deep breath before rushing inside, having to tug his hand a few times before he was able to fully escape its clutches.
Happy lingered outside still, like he was waiting for Peter to come back, but Peter just kept running. The older man pulled his phone out, slowly typing out something, like he was carefully choosing what to say. He held the device tightly, leaning his head back against the headrest before starting the car back up and driving back off to Stark tower, mumbling to himself under his breath.
Peter flew up the stairs, practically bouncing from the rails every time he launched himself up. Luckily for him it sounded like Matt was still busy tailing his info guy. Unluckily, the one day that he had left his suit at home because MJ had convinced him he was being paranoid, he was called for an emergency meeting. He normally didn't even go to those types of information debriefs since he still wasn't that Vital of a team member. Mr. Stark still insisted that it was ‘adult Business’, as if he was a child.
He was a child but how many children could throw a whole bus with their bare hands. Take that Mr. Stark!
Peter felt bad for abandoning Happy just like that, but he didnt feel like facing anyone right now. He really had to ask a trusted adult for help, and between the lawyer and someone who was not a trusted adult, the choice was pretty clear.
He pulled his suit out of a small shelf. After Tony immediately found his first suit, he had used his engineering skills to make a hidden compartment under his bed to hide the suit that he removed all the trackers and recording cameras from.
he grabbed his phone and hastily texted Matt, his fingers still slightly sticking to the screen with every tap.
peter: The avengers want to talk to you guys, please be cool
peter: and dont let wade say anything
peter: please
Peter sighed, they probably wouldn’t answer in a while anyways. For now he should get out as Spider-Man before may eventually ground him for not being in school. At least people might stop suspecting he’s a kid if he gets out earlier than usual, or that he’s unemployed.
He pulled his spandex suit on, rolling the mask over his face before sneakily climbing out of the window. The pads of his fingers stuck easily to the rough texture of the building's exterior, which had been worn down with age. He smoothly pulled himself up to the roof of the building, moving uncannily on both his legs and arms. His body had become much more flexible after the bite. It was kind of terrifying when he first found that out, he genuinely thought he either broke or popped something out of its socket when he did.
He looked over his city, listening for any signs of nearby crime. It was something that Matt had taught him when he found out that Peter also had enhanced scenes. He learnt to hone his hearing, not as good as Matt himself but it was definitely an improvement.
Crime wasn’t that prominent at this time of day, but there was still the occasional cat stuck in a tree and an old lady who needed help crossing the road. And what Spider-Man did best was helping people, so help he would. But no matter what he did he still wasn’t able to get that dumb conversation out of his head. He knew that it wasn’t that bad, all the avengers wanted to do was talk, then they would all go on their merry way and peter would never have to think about it again.
How he wished it were that simple.

I’m so sorry that it takes so long to push out chapters
maybe its just because I haven’t had a traumatic experience when writing yet
Chapter Text
Peter watched as the sun set under the horizon, the once blue sky Turning into a dusky array of colours. He had just finished webbing up two robbers who tried to steal from one of the more run down gas stations.
It had been a slow night,(and now that he had thought that he probably just jinxed himself but that’s a problem for future Peter) and was now weighing his options of going back home. He didn't normally go back this late, his set curfew was about 12am, but that was only after May found out about his little adventures. But he was still worried about the call he got from the others. He still knew nothing about the new shipment, and I mean how was he even meant to know what he was looking for. there was also the fact that he had that whole avengers thing to worry about, but that was neither here nor there.
If he was being honest to himself he was kind of scared. He liked it when these two pieces of his life were separate. With team red, he was able to help with the more serious missions. Like dealing with trafficking rings and higher level criminals. They didn’t underestimate him, or baby him as much as the avengers. But their morals were at a much different place than his own. Even though they toned down the blood and violence around him, and it was exhausting keeping them from crippling anyone whenever they went out as a full team.
The avengers were his scapegoats in this sense, people who worked closer to what he deemed as morale. But it still was hard convincing them that he was strong enough to work with them. Last time he worked with them he got injured from a mission they sent him on, and it wasn’t even as bad as they kept reiterating that it was. He had gotten hurt way worse on a handful of his casual patrols, but as soon as Tony saw his vitals he was whisked away. Peter wasn’t able to out crawl the iron spider while it moved him to a more secure area.
After the fight, he went to one of Wade's safehouses. He knew it was just because they were paranoid, but if it were any of the other avengers peter would bet his left thumb that they would have been allowed to stay. Even though he wasn’t exactly on the same level as the rest of them, he still wanted to be treated like the avenger they said he was.
Once Wade got there they ended up binge watching half the BCU (Barbie Cinematic Universe). Which to Peter's surprise, and not Wades, was actually pretty good. It was kinda weird when Peter thought about it, even though Wade tended to have a hard time when it came to heart to hearts, he always found a way to cheer up peter. Though most of the time Peter was the one dealing with the others emotions.
When Wade was going through something, he would normally try to kill himself, and when someone else was going through something he wouldn’t be able to do anything other than make it awkward. And when it came to Matt, that was self explanatory. He was colder than the rest of them, and even though he had finally opened up to the rest of the team, he still had difficulties dealing with his own emotions.
These two sides of his hero life were too separate to go together. It was like he had just upgraded or downgraded from which way you look at it, from a double life to a triple life. The main thing that clogged his brain when it came to this whole dilemma was if the avengers end up deeming the other two as enemies. They already thought that deadpool and daredevil were untrustworthy, who knows what will happen when they meet.
Peter balanced on the edge of the building that he was on, rocking back and forth on the balls of his foot. The city was calm, there was no buzzing from his spider sense nor were there any screams that he could hear with his enhanced hearing.
Just this once
Peter leaped off the high rise, swinging himself back to his apartment. May would be back by now, and he was definitely not ready to feel her rath. He swung smoothly through his window, landing heavily on the bed. He still needed to work on landing.
He stood up hastily, pulling his mask on and unflattening his hair from his head. He then got to work taking off the suit. One of the worst things about being a superhero was the spandex. Whoever thought that a supers default outfit should be an imprisoning coat of rubber deserves to be buried in the deepest pits of hell. One might say that is a cruel and unjust punishment, Peter says that you haven’t worn spandex before.
Once Peter got off the red suit and into some actual comfortable clothing, he lightly tiptoed to his phone. Peter could still hear aunt may in the kitchen, the sound of her chopping something still hitting his ears. The teen silently tapped in the code to his broken phone. There were still no notifications from Matt or Wade, but that was likely because they hadn't seen the message.
Peter pressed the call button, raising the device to his ear. The ringing filled the room while Peter fidgeted his fingers, but there was no answer. Peter tried again, but it just sent him back to voicemail. After the third time he called he decided to set his sights to Wade. Yet each call still just ended in silence, Peter's stomach felt like it was curling into itself. His breathing picked up as the next few calls weren’t received. He scrolled down to some of the other contacts, maybe someone else knew what happened, the vigilante community had its way of information getting around. But his eyes landed on someone better, Foggy.
Foggy literally lived with Matt, if he didn’t know what happened then Peter had a reasonable excuse to find the two himself. Every second was a second too long for Peter as the phone rang, but for once something good happened to him.
”Hello this is Foggy from Nelson and Murdock.” Foggy said. His voice had an underlying nervous tone to it, the kind that one would use if they were unsure of something they were saying.
“Foggy?” Peter said, like he was surprised.
”Peter? Why are you calling, is anything wrong?”
“Is Matt with you right now?” Peter asked, a slight shake in his voice.
“Has he also not been answering your calls?” Foggy replied, the words coming out more as a statement than a question.
”Yeah.” Peter said, his voice small as his heart sank more than it already had before.
Suddenly there was a large crash from foggy's side of the call, and a groan from someone who sounded in pain.
”Foggy!” Peter screened into the phone, his grip on the item reinforced with his sticky nature.
“Matt?” Foggy said, the sound a little muffled out like the phone had been moved further away from his face.
“Wait, Matt?” Peter said, making sure that he heard that right.
”shit Matt what the hell did you do.” Foggy said, his voice cracking in the middle of the sentence as he ran over to the man.
“Peter, I need to go, sorry.” He said before hanging up the phone. Peter held it up for a second longer before dropping his arm limply to the side.
”Peter?” Someone said in his doorway.
Peter screamed, dropping his phone as he flailed. There was an evident crunch as it landed on the floor. He froze like a deer in front of a headlight when he saw who was there. Aunt May stood with an irritated impression, but there was a ghost of worry intermixed in her gaze. ‘Play dumb’ a voice in his head instructed him.
”Who's peter?”
Not that dumb
Chapter Text
“Peter.” May sternly said as she fully opened the door. Peter looked as if he were about to pounce. His window was still open, the cool early autumn air flowing through the room. May stared at him down, her arms loosely crossed. The teen's eyes briefly darted to the open exit a couple of times, but his feet were still firmly stuck to the ground. He wasn't one to run.
May leaned towards him, her body language insisting that he speak, but all Peter did was tightly hold his lips together. May sighed, lowering her head in disbelief before looking back up at peter. She slightly chuckled to herself as she ushered Peter closer.
“What am I going to do with you?” She mumbled to herself while Peter slowly stepped closer.
“If this is because of the whole sneaking out of school thing I have a 30 slide PowerPoint as to why I shouldn’t get grounded.” Peter blurted out.
“You what.” May said, any softness in her voice now completely gone.
“It was a really important meeting! You know I’m an Avenger now!” Peter said defensively.
“Peter, have you seen your attendance, you’ve already missed at least a quarter of the year!” Aunt May argued back, a look of anger quickly rushing to her face.
”but Mr. Stark-“
“I don't care what Tony says, you still have a life other than Spider-Man!” May yelled, stepping closer to peter. Peter stepped back, avoiding eye contact as May continued to go on.
”You're still a kid peter, I know that this stuff is important to you but you still need to care about yourself.”
“Oh but I can't care about the other people of New York! What are they supposed to do when people like the vulture start attacking but the only person who can stop them is lounging about learning things that he already knows!” Peter screamed back.
Aunt May didn’t understand. He had so much more power than the rest of his city, and just like Ben had said, he needed to be responsible with it. He was the person that helped people who couldn’t help themselves. The avengers were too busy with much larger matters on their hands, but he was the one who could help out the little guys. He didn’t need lectures about how he needed to live his complicated life from someone who should have never even been aware of it in the first place.
Some days he felt like it was unfair that aunt may have to deal with him. He wasn't even her own kid, but Peter had managed to give her more gray hairs than anyone else her age normally had. There was an especially painful feeling of guilt when he would come crawling back home from an injury. The paled look on her face made his gut twist more than whatever happened out on the streets. She didn't deserve the stress that he brought her, no matter how much she said that she didn't mind the whole hero thing.
“You can do both!” Aunt may firmly yell back. The underline of softness in her voice subtlety returned.
May walked forward, putting a comforting hand on Peter's shoulder. Peter unconsciously leaned into it, the warmth of her hand contrasting harshly with the cold chill room. “I know I don't understand this as extensively as you do, but you need to learn to balance your life with Spider-Man’s.”
May put her other hand around Peter, bringing him into a semi hug. ”You've been through so much more than someone as young as you should. You deserve to live as normal a life as anyone else does.” There was a beat of silence as they stood in each other's presence.
“I’m-“ Peter croaked out before wrapping his own arms around May's back.
”I’m trying.” Is all he was able to say before his body forced him to shut up again. He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out.
“I know.” May replied, moving her hand up to cradle his head into her shoulder.
It was always a difficult topic when it came to Peter's vigilante life. Most of the time it wasn't serious like this. May normally would make harmless comments on his unique powers (who knows when she will drop the peter tingle thing) or peter would be showing her another cool trick that learnt during his patrol. But it wasn't uncommon for his lifestyle to become a wedge between them.
May was worried about him. There have been one too many times where he had barely made it out alive during a fight. Even rookie crooks could be difficult to handle if they had a gun. He was fast but not fast enough to out swing a bullet. It was only after Deadpool and Daredevil had decided to start training him did he stop gaining so many injuries during his patrols. Honestly that might have been the main reason May had allowed him to keep working with the two after she found out.
But there was also the future that she was worried about. She was scared that he would lose the human side of him to his work. That he would lose Peter Parker.
and Peter himself wasn't sure if he was going to lose it too.
After the bite, he didn't know what he wanted to do. But after Ben's death he knew what he had to do. The idea of a career was replaced with that of Spider-Man. It certainly didn't help that many of the other hero’s around him didn't live the double life he had placed on his own shoulders. They all seemed content, the two identities one in the same. The only problem he had was if he wanted that, and unfortunately for him he still didn’t know the answer.
May pulled away, placing both hands on his shoulders. She looked at him with a glint of pride in her eyes, his hands squeezing them reassuringly.
“You're doing so well.” She quietly said.
“So…” Peter said, the raspiness of his voice gone. “Am I still grounde-“
”Yes.” May quickly replied. “You weren’t even allowed to go out today, so that’s an extra month.”
“A month!?” Peter said, quickly backtracking from their intimate moment.
May laughed as she left the room, saying her goodbyes as Peter begged her to lower the duration. But even with his outward panic the small warmth in Peter continued to linger on. Maybe he didn't have to know just yet.
Chapter 6
Notes:
The good thing about being sick is that at least I can still write
Chapter Text
Wade stumbled into one of his safehouses, bones aching from exhaustion. He was also missing a good chunk of his leg and a few fingers but that wasn't really what was on his mind at the moment.
He and Matt were scouting out one of kingpin's alleged outposts when they were ambushed by a handful of goons, good ones at that. It seems that Fisk had finally decided to start hiring people with skill instead of randoms who were just willing to do the job. There were about 20 of them, which normally would be a problem but unfortunately working with people with actual morals had indeed stumped him.
Wade climbed onto the ripped leather couch in front of him, the cool material sticking to him. He reached over the side, grabbing a cigarette pack he had stashed on the side table.
The people who attacked them were dressed in what looked like red ninja attire (wow they were also trying to steal our style too?). Matt said they were called ‘the hand’, which like come on, there are so many better names in his very humble opinion. No Deadpool is not a dumb name, there shall be no slander to his awesome naming skills Peter. Certainly not from someone who named themselves Spider-Man, very original there.
The lackys managed to get a couple of good hits on them, but he wasn't normally someone to avoid harm anyway. It was Matt who took the actual damage, the devil didn't have any type of enhanced healing he and Peter had.
They knew something was off when they entered, the building was empty and clearly abandoned. Even Matt wasn't able to sense the ninjas when they got the drop on them.
They managed to roughen up the two before they finally got their bearings and actually started fighting back. They weren't actually that hard to fight, but they did still have more control over the brawl. Matt got hit hard, forcing them to retreat. Wade was able to shoot off the last of the henchmen and they fled before backup arrived. Well it was more like wade picked up a very angry Matt who didn't want to get carried, and ran off with him bridal style.
Matt claimed that it was probably the most obvious trap that he had ever stepped foot into, and ended up blaming Wade for the mishap. Wade ended up dumping him on a sidewalk nowhere near his house, and walked off happy with his contribution to the team. He knew that the other man would be alright, he always somehow was, no matter how many punches he got a night.
He knew that he was going to get an earful from Peter and Foggy once they finally got into contact with them, but that was only if Matt was willing to give up his reputation. Even if he had already lost it, the thought counts right?
He dragged the cigarette out his mouth, a hot plume of smoke soon following. He was quite far from Hell’s Kitchen, he walked Matt to the edge of the region before dumping him and doing the very adult thing of going to his third furthest safehouse to go wallow about something that isn’t about what happened in the last four hours.
Now thinking about it, he was a little worried about Matt (bleh, “worried”,look what you’ve done Peter). Maybe he should ask Foggy if got home safe, he knew a good chunk of people in Hell's Kitchen who, if they saw an injured daredevil, wouldn’t hesitate to curb stomp him.
He patted around his sore body, searching for his phone. He sat up abruptly, his hands now more viciously flying around his body. He groaned, slowly dragging his hand down his face and flopping back onto the uncomfortable material of his couch.
Of course he lost it, just his luck, Peter was now really rubbing off on him.
Great now he was really feeling guilty, and to Matt of all people. He stood back up, his healing still stitching together the massive missing chunk of flesh in his leg. At least he could properly stand again, that was a somewhat ok sign.
He pulled his mask fully off, and walked over to his window sill. The apartment was high enough to see over a majority of the other buildings, probably cost a fortune but a bit of threatening can definitely get you places. The real reason he got this apartment was because it was in Queens, specifically because it was a part of peters patrol route, and seeing the kid safe made him feel a little better after a mission.
It was his most stocked safehouse, filled to the brim with medical supplies. He told Peter that he could use the apartment whenever he needed a place to go during patrol. He first tried to turn him down but after getting shot by a mugger he did end up retreating to the safehouse. Wade ended up finding a massive splotch of blood Peter somehow didn't notice when trying to hide the fact that he was ever there in the first place. Blood Loss can sometimes do that to you.
He examined the buildings, normally bright red and blue wasn't too hard to find, but alas, Spider-Man was nowhere to be seen. He wasn’t surprised, if anything he would be more surprised to see him around these parts at this hour. Before he had truly met Peter, he stalked Spider-Man after an employer paid him to, studying the route he took every day intently. but after seeing the kid under the mask he simply ran off without the money, which was quite the revelation for Wade because he was never one to turn down money. But the kid he met was sweet old peter, I mean what was he meant to do kill him? It wasn’t even a good check anyway.
Watching him fight crime was like watching a newborn deer try to stand, but instead of just being adorable it was the most nerve racking thing he had ever seen. After fighting with him he realised how much of a soft spot he had for the kid, terrible suit and all.
Wade moved back away from the window, and limply flopped back onto the broken couch. He was restless that night, the feeling of unease still too common during his sleeping hours. His healing was slower when he was awake, but luckily for him he didn't gain any real debilitating injuries.
The bright rays of the sun knocked him out of his semiconscious. He turned to look at the time on the alarm clock, unaware that he was awake on the now blood-soaked couch. After realising his mishap, he tucked a hand down to his pockets to fish out his phone.
Oh right, no phone.
Wade whined, and lazily lifted himself up to go check the alarm in the bedroom. He grabbed his mask that he had left on the windowsill. His eyes were still adjusting to the brightness of everything, resting on the perched part of the window. He cracked his eyes open, spotting a blue figure on one of the buildings. Normally Peter wouldn’t be out this early, even on a weekend, but crime never waits.
maybe he should go out and ask him why he- wait that’s not Peter.
Why the fuck is captain America out there???

Chapter Text
Peter walked out the door, waving his goodbyes as he got into Happy's car. The man's lips were pressed into a tight line, but his composure was still laidback. Peter pulled the door closed, careful to not shut it too hard.
It was Peter's biweekly stay over at Stark tower. He normally did lab work with Tony, but after the emergency meeting a lot of the other avengers were here today. For the last couple of months Natasha had been off on a mission, Peter wasn't sure where it was because of the level of classification, but he did know it was somewhere in Europe.
It had been radio silence for a while now, and even if she had made any connection with Shield or the other Avengers, Peter still wasn't apparently experienced enough to be involved with it. Bucky and Steve had been occupied on the other side of the country for the last months, and even Bruce had been gone because of some important research he had to do. Yet Peter hadn’t been told about anything going on.
At least he had tabs on Clint, he still held high the thought of being one of the few avengers who knew where he was even when he was off grid. Information on the other vigilante wasn’t too hard to come across, and when you’re friends with someone who can never stop running his mouth you learn a few things. Apparently, he had also sensed something fishy going on with Kingpin, but hadn’t been able to find anything yet.
“Peter? Are you alright back there?” Happy asked, looking back at him. It was normally pretty busy during this time, and the car hadn’t moved for a while because of the large amount of traffic.
“Yeah?” Peter replied, snapping out his thoughts.
“You’ve been awfully quiet back there, is everything alright?” Happy asked, raising a brow.
“Uhh yeah! I’m fine, I guess I was just out late last night.” He lied, well aware that he hadn’t slept that well since he had become Spider-Man.
“What was yesterday's meeting about?” Said happy, looking back towards the road.
“I’m afraid that’s classified, you’re going to have to ask the boss.” Peter joked, gaining a little chuckle from the other man. they finally filtered out of the packed traffic, Stark Tower finally came into sight. It wasn't that much of an achievement though since you could probably see it from anywhere within midtown manhattan.
“Peter, you know you can tell me anything right?” Happy said, glancing back at him for a second before continuing to watch the road.
Great, another adult in his life that is suddenly becoming weirdly preternatural towards him. MJ was so right about him needing to make more friends that are his age, and not just adults who dress up in costumes and fight crime. Or try to become his new dad, which is strangely slowly becoming a problem. It feels like the first time he came out to aunt may, but instead of confessing he had a crush on simba from the lion king, he’s instead trying to figure out how to tell the worlds mightiest heroes the fact that he works with mercenaries and morally grey freedom fighters. The feeling was essentially the same.
“..Yeah?” Peter replied, confused on why he was getting asked the question in the first place.
“And that no matter what happens you can always trust me, right?”
“Yep?”
“Even if you think you can’t?”
This had to be a trap of some sort. even Matt wasn’t this vague, and he almost always talks in metaphors whenever they team up. What was happy even trying to get out of him, a murder confession??? Why can't he just take yeah for an answer, he’s quite sure that a yes and no answer isn’t as complicated as he’s making this out to be.
“Yes, Happy, I know! I’m fine, nothings wrong!” Peter snapped, flopping back into his seat irritatedly. “Now can you please just put the divider up for the rest of the ride!”
Happy said nothing as the screen between them closed, just looking forward as Peter fumed in his seat. He was fine! Why couldn't he just accept that. Why cant ‘fine’ be a good answer, what was he supposed to say, splendid?
They finally reached Stark tower, the car pulling up to the front quietly. Peter hopped out without a word, hitching his backpack up before heading into the building. It was normally quite empty during the weekend, most of the employees that work on the lower levels gone on these days. Only some of the higher level scientists and other important miscellaneous workers come in during these days.
“Hello peter.” Friday said as he stepped into the elevator, automatically bringing him up to the highest level. “Tony, Bucky and Natasha are all in the building right now, they are waiting in the common room.”
“Thanks Friday.” Peter replied, shifting his weight side to side. As the door opened he wandered out into the large area. He could hear the chatter of the three from the room next to the kitchen, their voices low and calm. As Peter rounded the corner they all turned to face him, Bucky and Tony both holding a cup of coffee while Natasha was holding a cup of tea.
“Hey guys!” Peter said, throwing his bag onto the plush seat next to him. He shuffled towards them, sliding smoothly next to tony.
“Hey kid, good to see you again,” Tony said, ruffling up his hair. Peter quickly pulled off his hand before he could ruin his hair anymore.
“Hello peter.” Natasha said, giving a nod towards him. At the same time Bucky waved, sipping on his drink as he did.
“Sorry Pete, we can't do any work yet, I’ve got a meeting in five. Afterwards, we can work on those new aerodynamic features you want to add to your suit to make it easier to maneuver midair.” Tony said, walking away.
”Ok Mr Stark, see you later.” Peter said, waving him off.
“Hey, why don't you guys go spar, I know that you don’t really get to train with the other Avengers much.” Tony said, just short of the room the elevator was.
“Yeah, why don't we, it could be beneficial for you.” Natasha said, looking towards Peter.
”I think it's a good idea.” He agreed, putting his cup down on a desk beside him.
”thatwouldbesoawsomeomg.” Peter said. The two walked towards the training room, motioning for Peter to come along.
“Come on kid, let’s see what you can do.” Natasha said.

Chapter Text
Peter gawked as the three walked into the massive room. On the right side there was some sort of gym area, decked out with different weights and machines. A lot of the equipment he had never seen before. while to the left was an area separated from everything by reinforced glass. There were seats around the outside, some even having towels draped over it.
Natasha noticed his staring, and nudged him towards it. The floor around it was padded, slightly squishing under his feet. Peter could unfortunately smell the damp distinct scent of sweat practically ingrained into the material.
“This is where we spar.” Natasha said, waving an arm towards the separated wing of the room.
”We mostly use it for simulations, to ready ourselves for different combat situations” Bucky added on, walking in front of the two to place a towel he had apparently picked up when Peter was engrossed looking at the rest of the space.
“There's a simulation for basically everything, I don't know where he got the idea to add robotic space monkeys and I personally don't want to know.“ The man said, walking to a screen just outside the door. He typed something in, causing the device to beep before the door beside him opened with a hiss.
”I’m surprised you haven’t seen this place yet, what has Tony been doing with you all this time?” Natasha said as she started to remove some of the concealed weapons that she had on her. Which was a surprising amount.
Tony had never really brought him to this area before, mostly sticking to the workstations and private living areas instead. This was more towards the conference and P.R area, which Tony had always been uninterested in taking him to. He had mostly kept him away from a lot of the avenger business parts of the tower, sticking to the more lab and scientific departments. He had labeled them as ‘adult only zones’ because he didn't want Peter to be involved in the more legal and dangerous parts of being in the avengers. It felt just a little ironic that Spider-Man just happened to be so buddy-buddy with both a lawyer and a mercenary.
“Uh no he hasn’t, we mostly stay in the lab.” Peter said, smiling sheepishly. Natasha hummed back, and led him to where Bucky was standing.
The sparring arena was slightly elevated, alienating itself from the rest of the training room. Bucky pressed something on the screen, and as soon as he did the glass that was surrounding the area started to go down, disappearing into the floor. Peter watched it with awe, it looked like something straight out of a movie. He heard a chuckle to the left of him. Peter glared back at the culprit, eyeing the winter soldier. It was quickly stifled with a harsh grunt but the man still had a playful grin on his face.
“What are we going to do?” Peter said, stepping up on the platform next to Natasha. Bucky stood back, instead sitting on a seat outside.
“First try to get a hit on me, we’ll work on what to do after.” Natasha said, into the middle.
“Just like, one hit? No pinning down anyone or pushing someone out of the ring?” Peter asked.
“One hit.” Natasha said back, going into a fighting stance. Peter hadn’t seen the position before, most people he went against looked a lot more sloppy, but they also had guns so it kind of balanced out. He slipped into one of the stands that Matt had taught him. Matt had trained him in a few different fighting styles, but after ruling out judo and ninjutsu, decided that the best would be a boxing stance.
“Ready?” She asked. Peter nodded his head, a feeling of nervousness swelling in him. He really didn't want to embarrass himself in front of (in his opinion) the coolest avengers in the team.
The device beeped again, which was the only warning he got before Natasha swung at him. He dodged out of the way, quickly putting his hands up in defense to block the barrage of punches coming his way. Luckily he normally got jumped during his night job, so the sudden start wasn’t too much of a hindrance for him.
After a handful of hits from Natasha, he ducked under one of her swipes trying to get a quick punch on her leg, but before it could land she leapt backward. He quickly sprung up, side stepping to the side to avoid a kick aimed for him. His sudden movement caught her off guard, giving him just enough time to swivel around and attempt to land a strike on her. Natasha rolled out of the way, but it was enough for Peter to go on the offense.
She was a harder fighter then Matt normally was, but he could tell they both were going easy on him. He could pinpoint the times when they either could have hit harder or get an easy shot in. Normally when fighting against Matt, they would use more dirty moves against each other. It was simply easier to train like they were in a real street fight instead of some professional match. Peter did pick up some of the unsavory methods that Matt used with him, but for now he would just try to stick to the basics.
It was like a cat and mouse chase, he’d almost land a hit on Natasha but she would move just out of reach. The pattern continued before Peter messed up and stumbled over his own foot. Unfortunately his awesome balance didn't save him from falling, and he ended up off the floor. Natasha used this moment to go back onto the offense, aiming for a kick on the arm he was using to get himself back up.
his spider sense rang, reactively swinging a roundhouse kick to where Natasha was standing. She went down, hitting the floor with a large thump. Peter stood up quickly, watching tentatively as if she was going to surprise attack him again. But the woman just sat up, putting a hand out for Peter's help. Peter quickly jogged over, worried that he had hurt her.
“Good Job маленький паук.” She said as Peter pulled her up, walking him over to wear Bucky was standing. Peter had no idea what she said, but he was 70% sure that spider was in there somewhere. After he binge learnt basically everything about the average spider after the bite, he ended up on a website that just had spider in every language on it. He didn't know what it was for or why it was there, and he might have also gotten a virus, but it was surprisingly accurate.
“That was a pretty good kid.” Bucky praised, handling the towel he got over to him. ”definitely better than Steve and tony.”
“Really?” Peter asked. He wasn’t surprised that he was a better fighter than Tony, the man wasn’t exactly the best fighter without the armor, but Captain america?
”Really, it took Steve at least an hour to get a hit.” Bucky replied. Taking the towel that Peter used back.
“It also took you about thirty minutes, peters took about ten” Natasha said, pulling out her own towel.
“At least I didn't give up like tony.” Bucky retorted. Just then the doors that lead in slid open, and in walked an annoyed looking tony.
“What did I give up on?” He asked, coming over to where they were sitting.
”getting a hit on Natasha without powers or weapons.” Bucky replied, leaning back.
”Is that what you three have just done?” He asked, standing next to Peter. He laid a hand on his shoulder, pulling him closer.
”yeah, peter just went for a go.” Bucky said, nodding his head toward him.
“Done already? What did Natasha go easy on you or something?” He joked, looking down at Peter with a smile. Peter giggled a bit as Tony shook him with the arm that held his shoulder.
“I noticed that you used some boxing during the fight, where’d you learn it?” Natasha asked. Peter shifted a bit, unsure with what he should say.
“I sort of just picked it up?” He said, looking at them to see if his lie worked. “You know, fighting on the streets and stuff, you just kinda see things and do end up wanting to do them.”
“That was pretty good for just something picked up off the streets.” Bucky said, looking at him with an unimpressed look on his face. Damn Peter and his horrid living skills.
“YouTube tutorials?” Peter weakly explained, lamely pointing finger guns because what do you do with your hands in moments like this.
”I swear half of the things you learn are strictly from YouTube. You’ve got to learn how to pick up skills from the professionals, just ask Cap, he’d probably be happy to train you.” Tony said with a sigh.
”where is Mr. Roger anyway?” Peter asked, looking around. “Didn't you say he was with you guys right now?”
”oh right! Sorry kid, I forgot to tell you. He's actually in Queens right now, looking for those vigilantes we talked about.” Tony replied.
He… was in queens. Spider-Man’s region. Where Spider-Man worked. He was Spider-Man.
“Why him? Why not send me??” Peter asked, pulling out of Tony’s grip. “I mean, I know way more about queens! Why send Mr. Roger when I’m right here!”
“We don't know who those guys are, they could be dangerous! Tony said back, a worried look on his face. “I didn’t think you’d been so mad about the idea.”
The thing is, queens are his territory. Matt had Hell’s Kitchen, Luke had Harlem and Peter had queens. Spider-Man was the poster child of queens, the mascot that everyone there knew and loved. He feels like he’s abandoning them if some other super just goes and does his job. And they didn't even ask him if he could do it, nor did they ask if Steve could go to queens in the first place. He knows it’s stupid, but even the other vigilantes do it. They know what place is who’s, and what rules they need to follow while in that region. It’s just the weird system they had going on.
”I just- you could have at least asked me to help.” He said quietly, looking down at the floor.
”your right kid, I’m sorry.” Tony replied, holding a hand out for him. The doors that lead in suddenly slid open once more, everyone quickly turning to see who it was.
”Wow, Tony Apologising? That's new.” Clint said, walking up to a group with an apple in hand. Tony was about to say something before a buzzing sound startled them all.
Peter's phone was ringing, his burner one. He was surprised that he hadn’t taken it out of his pocket during the fight, and even more surprising was the fact that it still worked. He carefully plucked it out of his pocket, the screen literally hanging by a thread.
“Sorry I have to take this.” He said, running out of the room, broken phone in hand. The others watched as he exited, only looking back once the doors had shut. clint looked back towards Tony, quirking a brow.
“He got mad over Steve going to the queens instead of him.” Tony said, combing a hand through his hair.
”Did you at least ask him?” Clint asked.
“No but we though it would be to dangerous for him to g-“
“no i mean did you ask if you were allowed to go into the region?” Clint interrupted
“What do you mean?” Tony said, both him and the two who were sitting on the seat now fully listening to him.
”You know, he’s territorial like most of the regional vigilantes. “You need to ask him for permission if you need to work there, it’s a whole thing.” Clint said it was a well known fact.
”Peter is… territorial? Am I hearing this right?” Tony said slowly, trying to wrap his head around the idea.
“Yeah, massive terms and conditions though. I think he has a stack of printed paper somewhere in his room with an entire list of rules that he gives out to vigilantes who want to work in queens. He’s even got the punisher under his finger.” Clint said nonchalantly, taking a bite out of his apple.
”I’m sorry, who?!?” The three sitting down said in almost perfect unison.

Chapter Text
Wade reached to grab his mask, quickly pulling it over his face. Even though he could barely see the patriotic figure below he didn't want to risk the man seeing him. He did have quite, as Peter had once said, ‘unique’ facial features. Speaking of Peter, who the hell was the number one boyscout in all of America doing in queens? Last time he checked, there wasn’t an alien invasion happening right now, nor are there any Nazis around that he knows of. If there were, he probably would have shot them already, or more specifically taken them out of queens and shot them. He didn't really feel like getting on Peter's bad side, God knows how much he loves that no-Kill policy
The small figure below was just pacing back and forth, his shield strapped to his back. Now Wade being the good samaritan he is, had two options.
Ask Peter what was going on
fuck with Captain Amarica
And if you knew wade, the choice was pretty clear.
He mentally reminded himself to apologize to Peter as he kept through the window, climbing down the tall building before jumping the one below. He hopped over a handful of buildings, coming into view of the figure. He made sure to stay out of view, climbing the side of the apartment that Cap’ was on and hiding behind the large roof vent on the edge of the building.
“What do they even look like? I know red is the whole thing but have you seen the amount of enhanced people who wear red? No, that was rhetorical don't answer that-“ Steve said to someone, likely a com to another avenger.
Wade could barely hear any of the conversation, the fan he was behind wurling too loudly. After some debate, he decided to make a run for the other side of the roof and hide behind where the door to the stairs was. What fun was eavesdropping on someone if you couldn't even hear them. He waited until the avenger was walking the other way before making a dash. Luckily he did pay attention when Matt was trying to teach him and Peter about stealth, but he would take that fact to his grave. He ducked out of the area behind the vent, trying to stay as quiet as possible. He was almost to the door, if he could just-
“Aragh!” Wade yelled as he landed face first into the pavement below. Steve turned around at the studden noise, a surprised expression on his face. Great, world class assassin Deadpool had just lost to a pebble. A pebble. He had never been more happy for the others to not be here right now. He turned onto his side, propping his head on his hand.
”…heyyyy.” Wade said, finger gunning with his remaining hand.
Steve looks at wade, his mouth agape. Slowly putting a hand up to his com as if any sudden moves would suddenly scare him away.
”Does one of the guys we’re looking for have katanas?” He asked, his eyes still glued on wade.
“Yeah actually, I was just getting to that. Deadpool is the one with the katanas.” Said a small voice coming out of the device in his ear.
“Aww, you guys know about me? Did I shoot the president or something?” Wade said, putting his hand up to his chest.
“He sort of just fell right in front of me.” Steve continued, still staring down at the red and black person.
“What.” Replied the voice from the com. It would probably be a good time to get up now, but unfortunately his legs still hurt and this accidental rest was quite enjoyable.
“So what’s spidey's little boy scout group doing out here?” Wade said, still limp on the floor. Steve cleared his throat, but chose to not answer the question. Rude.
”what do I do?” He whispered into the com, his eyes momentarily scanning the surroundings before landing back on wade.
“I don't know! Just don't let him run off I guess.” Answered the com. Steve removed his hand off of his com, letting it fall to the side.
”Are you by chance deadpool?” He asked, putting on his best speech voice.
“No, I'm the tooth fairy.” Replied wade in a deadpan tone.
“Are you a part of the group known as team red?” Steve continued, crossing his arms. He sounded almost robotic, like a pre recorded speech used for announcements.
“I’m red, and I'm in a team. If you put two and two together, I'm sure you could figure out the answer. Wade replied, pointing at the captain.
”So that's a yes?” Steve asked, stepping forward. Wade just looked at him, a bored expression across his face.
“Well as a member of the avengers, i am here to ask on our behalf if you and your team would like to… join forces.” Steve said, but it sounded more like a question than a statement.
“Woah woah slowdown, you want us to join your little club?” Wade said, Immediately getting up.
“Well-“
“Look, you guys are hot and all, but we don't really do that kind of stuff.” Wade huffed, placing a hand on his hip.
”no that not-“ Steve tried to say but Wade hushed him before he could finish talking.
“Oh look!” Wade said looking down at his wrist.”I’ve got to get going now, i'm gonna be late for-“ Wade said, jumping off the building. He landed on the flat below, rolling to break the land and quickly sprinted to the next building across.
“Anyway tell spidey that i said hello!” Wade yelled as he jumped across to the next house, balancing carefully on the edge.
“What are you doing! Go after him.” Yelled the person in the com, promptly snapping Steve out of his shocked trance.
“Yeah, I got it.” He replied, running off the building too. Deadpool watched as he sped through the block, hot on his tail. Fuck he was fast. But something he didn't have over wade was knowing the layout of queens. Peter had taught him a lot about quick shortcuts and hidden paths throughout the region.
wade slid through a small area between two buildings, landing harshly on the ground below. He ran through the alley, glancing back at Steve who was trying to climb his way down. He turned left, running through a few street vendors before climbing into one of those old red phone booths that you’d think to see in London. He slammed the door shut as quietly as he could, and grabbed the phone from the machine. He held his breath as he heard the loud footsteps of captain america pass, unaware of where he was hidden.
Wade fished out a dollar from his pocket, something he got after witnessing the many instances where Peter had struggled because of his non-pocketed suit. He mostly only put stuff in his pockets to tease Peter about his pocketless nature, but it seemed that they were finally coming in handy. He tapped down Peter’s burner phone number, it quietly ringing in his ear.
“Hello?” Peter said, his voice small as if he wasn’t supposed to be talking right now.
”Hey spider-boy, mind telling me why Captain America is chasing me down the streets right now?”

Peter paused, stopping just a few feet from the door to the gym.
“He’s what?” He whispered, making sure he wouldn’t be heard by the others in the room.
“Oh you know, chasing me down and stuff, just the usual.” Wade nonchalantly said into the phone.
“One, how did he find you? And two, what are you even doing in queens!” Peter said, glancing up as if he could see if Friday was listening, which she probably was, but hopefully the conversation wouldn’t set too much suspicion off. He wasn’t sure how well she could hear him when talking, but he tried not to be too loud so that she wouldn’t be able to pick up his speech.
”I was going to see you, I just saw him on the way, got curious and now I'm here. Now could you answer my question!” Wade yelled.
”shhh keep your voice down, the others are near.” Peter said, looking towards the doors. “I texted you, the avengers are interested in the team.” Peter finished, shifting slightly away from the entrance.
”What do you mean ‘interested’?” Wade asked skeptidly.
”Like they want you guys to join.” Peter said hastily.
“Yeah I got that, don’t they already know you’re on the team? I mean think that’s plenty of red. just tell them that we don't wanna joi-“
“They don't know that I know you guys.” Peter interrupted, closing his eyes as if he was expecting some sort of blow.
“Baby boy, I need you to say that again, I don't think I heard you right. Wade said. “I thought you said that you haven’t told them about this little rendezvous that you have going on.”
“I haven’t told them yet!” Peter said, “What am I supposed to say, ‘oh Mr Stark by the way I'm working with those possible criminals that you're trying to hunt down right now, sorry for not telling you’?”
”Yes, that! I don't want the entirety of the Avengers on my ass while I'm trying to work!” Wade replied, “I thought you already told them!”
”I literally told you that I can talk whenever in the tower or on a mission with the Avengers. Hell I’ve told you that I haven’t told the avengers straight to your face, were you not listening when I was speaking to you guys about it!” Peter said in a borderline venomous tone.
“Peter, do I look like I'm listening, that’s Matt’s job. I’m more of the looks guy” Wade said very matter of factly.
”Oh my god.” Peter said, pinching the space between his brows. “Ok fine just, wait tight for now. I'll go find you and get Steve off you. Just stay out of sight for now.” Peter said, walking back towards the doors.
“Trust me, I don't plan on going anywhere.” Wade said, “we’re near the safehouse, just a block down, close to that donut shop you really like.”
Peter hung up, pocketing the phone as the automatic door opened. “Hey Mr. Stark, I need to go, uhh aunt may have said that I left something.” Peter said, swiveling on his heel and quickly stepping away.
“Wait Peter, I need to talk to you.“ Tony said, standing up.
”Sorry it’s important!” Peter yelled before breaking into a sprint.
”Wait kid!” Tony yelled as he watched Peter run off.
“Do you think he heard us?” Clint asked.
“Are you serious, the Punisher?” Tony said befuddled.
“The vigilante community is tight, you’d be surprised how much we know about each other.” Clint replied, taking another bite out of the apple.
“Yeah, but it's the punisher, Peter shouldn’t be anywhere near people like that! What if one of them decides to do something to him!” Tony stressed.
”I wouldn’t count on it, he's got a weird soft spot for the kid. I think I’ve seen Peter walk the guy's dog once.” Clint said.
”He walked the punisher's dog?” Tony sounded out slowly, like he was trying to make sense of the words that had just come out of his mouth.
”It's a cute dog, his name is Max, I got to pet him once.” Clint replied, sitting down on the spot Tony had abandoned before the other man could sit back down again. Tony just looked at him dumbfoundedly while still trying to wrap his head around the idea of Peter walking a known serial killer's pet.
Peter ran to the evavater, the doors shutting behind him. “Friday, ground floor.” He said, talking off his jumper.
“Are you sure peter? I believe that Mr. Stark would like to have a word with you.” She replied
”Friday please, this is important.” He whined.
”Of course peter.” She said, sending him down.
Mays was going to kill him, but it was Peter Parker who was grounded, not spider-man. He tugged off his shirt, revealing the spider emblem on his suit. The good thing about spandex was the ability to hide it under clothes, and he sure as hell needed to hide it today if he wanted to go out.
He ran out of the elevator as the doors opened, quickly making it out of the door of the building as many confused pedestrians watched. It wasn’t all that often for people to see Spider-Man out this side of the city, so the gawks and awes weren’t all that unexpected. Most people in queens didn't even notice him, after about the third week people sort of just stopped caring. But that’s New York for you.
He webbed a building, pulling himself to it. He landed on the ledge and chucked his clothes in the center of the roof, webbing it down. He didn't really feel like carrying them all the way back to queens. But last time he had left his clothes in a discreet area, they had been stolen, and It was a really good shirt too. so he now webbed down his clothes whenever he leaves them anywhere. It’s an annoying routine and he doesn’t like wasting his web fluid normally, but he doesn’t want any creeps stealing his clothes again.
He jumped off, webbing a light pole and swung towards queens.
