The God of War's Master

Summary:

Harry flees Britain after Sirius' death, he can't take it anymore. So he goes to the only place he can, Forks Washington. Where Sirius' only good relatives lived. Once there he meets the wolves and vampires, watching the drama in amusement. That all changes one day, when he realizes one of the vampires is not only a Cullen, but Jasper Whitlock, God of War, the man that terrified the wizarding world, even more so than the past dark lords Britain had suffered.

Notes:

I'm excited for this one folks! No clue where it's going but it'll be one hell of a ride.

Chapter Text

He was done. Done fighting, over almost dying. He was leaving, never to return ever again. He refused. He wouldn't tell anyone either. There was no one left. Not after Sirius died. He clenches his teeth as the portkey swirls him away, across the pacific ocean all the way to New York City.

He sighs, making his way to the second portkey he had arranged as his new pseudonym, Hadrian Black, son of Sirius Black. It was close enough to the truth, after all, the man had blood adopted him after his fourth year. His cheekbones had heightened and his features sharpened, his skin tone had darked just slightly. Already dark from his father’s complexion.

He slumps as he finally lands at his destination, Seattle Washington, he smiles before walking to the sidewalk outside of the building. Searching for the car that would pick him up. He waves as he finally sees it, making his way to the beat up old SUV with the absolutely huge man standing beside it. He grins at Harry as the small boy approaches.

“Harry, right?”

Harry smiles slightly and nods, “yeah, Sam?”

“That's me! Ready to meet old Billy and your cousin Jacob?”

Harry nods with a tiny smile as he climbs in the car and listens to the engine roar to life as the man starts it up. He watches as the trees pass by and he leans his head against the window. Forks, a tiny little town with a reservation on it, for the Natives. Sirius’ family, at least, the good ones. Harry watches as the road winds before slowly the trees turn thicker and thicker. Houses slowly begin to pop up from between the trees.

“The rez,” Sam explains, “where we all live. There’s a school here too if you’d like to go. You’re welcome to as Sirius’ kid.”

Harry sighs, “I thought about it, but I think I should try Forks high school and get to know more people. My social skills are a bit lacking and I'll get to know everyone on the reservation outside of school anyways.”

Sam hums, “makes sense, but just know the offer will always be open to you.”

“Thank you, I appreciate it, truly.”

The man nods and pulls into a small driveway, he nods towards the house at the end of it.

“This is your stop kid, Billy and Jacobs place. Do you have luggage that someone will need to pick up at some point? Or is that all you got.”

Harry smirks slightly at the huge man, “trust me, this isn’t all I have, but you’re not the only supernatural beings in this world you know.”

And before the man could respond, he hops out of the SUV and walks to the front door, knocking on the door. His grin grows as he looks down at the man in his wheelchair.

“Well would you look at you! You look just like Siri did at his age, just with shorter hair and green eyes.”

Harry smiles brightly at the man, the first time he had ever been compared to his dad instead of his biological parents.

“Thank you,” he whispers gratefully.

Harry smiles as he enters, finally at home .

Harry giggles as he fools around with Jacob, Quill, and Embry on the empty beach. Far too cold for any normal person to be there but Harry is far from normal. He had arrived just before the new school year began, yet the weather was as if he had arrived in the middle of winter. The warming charms he had placed on each of them cause joy to spread as they chase each other across the sand in an epic game of tag. Harry’s grin is brighter than ever before as he chases Quill, acting like the child he never was.

Harry raises his eyebrows at the sight of the vampires. Well, that's something you don't see everyday. He snorts in amusement, vampires at a muggle school. He glances at them one more time and decides it’s not his problem. Especially with those yellow eyes of theirs, they were obvious animal eating vampires. They could do whatever pleased them as long as it didn't hurt the people around them.

Harry waves to his friends as he makes his way through the cafeteria, the school is in chaos, gossiping about the new girl. Harry shakes his head in amusement, first him and now Isabella Swan? This was easily the most entertaining year for the students around him. He casts a questioning glance at the others as they usher Isabella over. He rolls his eyes at the boys fighting over her, immaturity at its finest. He smiles at her as he watches the others silently.

“Who are they?”

Harry covers his snort of laughter by eating, not wanting to explain his amusement whenever it came to the Vampires.

“Those are the Cullens.”

Harry tunes Jessica out as he finishes the delicious food Billy had packed for his lunch. He sighs as he thinks about the Cullens. He had researched them thoroughly once he realized just what they were. They seemed to be the most peaceful vampires in existence. Truly, Harry was impressed. His family and the wolves disagreed, but Harry could understand that. He wonders if there was any way wolves and vampires could ever get along.

“He thinks he's too good for everyone here. Not that it matters.”

Harry can't withhold his snort this time, “oh I'm sure it doesn't matter Jess,” Harry grins good-naturedly at her.

She glares at him and shoves his shoulder, “ignore him, Bella. He doesn't know what he's saying half the time, the other half it’s lies that he's fabricated.”

Harry laughs loudly at that, “I didn’t get this scar by telling the truth, after all!” He waves his right hand out to show the scar on the back of it.

The others grimace and roll their eyes, slightly more used to his jokes about his scars by now. He giggles to himself, his jokes about his past slowly helping him heal from his treacherous memories that still plague him in both waking and sleeping hours.

Bella’s eyes widen in horror, “what is that? Did someone carve that into your hand?”

Harry nods cheerfully, “yep! Well, technically I did it to myself but only by force and coercion.”

She gapes at him and if he had turned around he would have seen the same exact expressions on the faces of the cullen family. He simply smiled at the girl.

“Don't worry, Bella! That's not even the worst of my scars!”

Jess sighs, setting her head on her hands, “that's not a good thing, Harry.”

Harry shrugs, looking at her with that same carefree grin as before, “it makes for good stories now! And it's not like it’s going to happen again, I escaped!”

“Escapsed?” Bella gasps in horror.

Harry hums, swaying in his seat slightly, “yep! I was held captive by a cultist group that thought I was their savior and was forced to fight for them against a terrorist group in Britain.”

Jess sighs, “that's the only truthful thing he’ll tell you about it, Bella, so don't even ask for more details or he'll go off into a made up story about dragons of all things.”

“Hey! Norberta and the Hungarian Horntail are real, thank you very much!”

Jess looks at Bella pointedly as she gestures towards him, “see?”

Her face is still painted with horror as she looks at the boy in front of her, “how many scars do you have?”

Harry hums in thought, “from them? Like 20? Maybe 30? I dont know I’ve never counted. But in total it's about 127. A lot of them are super tiny ones on my hands or wrists.”

Everyone looks at him in horror, their faces pale as they realize just how many scars he had that they hadn’t even seen.

“You didn’t tell us about that, Harry,” Jessica says in a quiet and soft voice.

He shrugs, “I didnt think youd want to hear about my abusive relatives, my family wasn’t pleased by the news when I told them.”

“Obviously not, Harry! They care for you! We care for you!”

Harry smiles at the girl and squeezes her hand, “I know and I'm grateful for it everyday.”

She bites her lip and nods, eyes wet as she goes to hug him. He smiles gratefully and sinks into the hug, glad to be surrounded by people that truly care for him.

Harry laughs as he puts his wetsuit on, ready to surf with the others. He had never gone but he’s quite excited to try it. He waves as Jacob, Quill, and Embry join them.

“Cullen’s a fool.”

“Second that,” Embry agree harshly.

Harry sighs as the other kids look at the boy oddly, “the Quilutes have a treaty with the Cullen’s. They’re a part of this old tribe of pale faces that crossed into the reservation years ago without permission and ever since they haven’t been allowed on our land. They just moved back a few years ago and we rewrote the treaty for a more modern take on it but they're still not allowed on our lands. Some of us take it farther and turn it into a grudge,” Harry grins good-naturedly at Embry, “it's just some old weird thing, none of us even know why we have it but we just go alone with it.”

Bella hunches, almost as if disappointed. Harry sighs in relief, the girl was looking for answers on the vampires, but he refused to let the tribe give them to her. It was against the treaty for any muggle to be told of them by the tribe, he wouldn't let them break it, even by accident.

Harry rolls his eyes skyward as he watches the new couple walk around happily. A muggle and a vampire together, this is a disaster waiting to happen. He sighs as he looks at Jess, whose depressed expression turns his stomach. Bella hasn’t sat with them for two weeks now at lunch. He huffs out a breath as they make their way to the cafeteria, he supposes he’ll just have to remind Bella that she has other friends and people in her life other than the Cullens.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He clears his throat from where he stands, directly in front of Bella and Edward. The other vampires had taken notice of him the second he started walking over, Eddie boy simply ignored him, and Bella was just oblivious of his presence.
“Oh! Harry! What are you doing over here?”
Harry raises an eyebrow at her, “the better question is what are you doing over here? Have you forgotten you have friends other than your boyfriend and his pep squad?”
The big burly one snorts and his girlfriend scowls at him, probably disgusted at being called part of Edward’s pep squad.
Bella opens her mouth to reply but Edward beats her to it, “she wants to sit here, why don't you go back to enjoying your lunch. There's a reason she wants to sit here instead of with you, mutt.”
Harry’s eyebrows raise in incredulity, he smiles at the man kindly, setting his hands on the table and leaning forwards.
“Call me a mutt one more time, Eddie boy and you'll end up in the same state as the last person to call me that. My aunt Marge didn’t look particularly flattering when she was blown up, you see. Not that she was flattering before that.”
Edward scoffs, “you couldn't even touch me.”
Harry grins and leans forward, “I wouldn't need to,” his whisper holds so much malice the other man flinches.
The other Cullens simply stare at him, as does Bella.
“Wha-what are you?”
Harry glances at Bella, “nothing you need to know about, Bella,” he scans the vampires around him before raising a muffling charm, “just be safe if you’re to continue hanging out with these vampires. They may not even try to hurt you but end up doing so. Their strength is something you cannot even fathom, Bella. If you ever need help come to the reservation or come get me,” he clenches his jaw, “does she know of us?”
Edward nods and Harry snarls at him, “of course she does. Find Sam if you need help, he's the alpha of the wolves. Or find me, I'm not one of them, but something far more deadly.”
Harry grins at Edward with too many teeth before looking at the others at the table, “the same goes for you all. If you ever need something, find me, the wolves won’t help unless I ask them to. I'll be willing to help out whenever I like, though,” his eyes travel to the blond man and his smile turns flirtatious, “especially you.”
The big burly one laughs out loud again as he turns to the blond man, “you’ve got yourself a fan, Jaz!”
The man, Jaz, glares at the big one in reply.
The big one smiles at Harry and holds out a hand to shake, “I'm Emmett. The Blonde guy is Jasper, the other blond is my wife, Rosalie. The girl that looks eerily similar to you is Alice and you know Eddie by now.”
Harry grins in return, “Alice is obviously the best looking out of you all, Jasper comes in at a damn good second though.”
Emmett snorts, “oh yeah, you just say that since I compared poor Alice to you. And I've gotta disagree, Rosy is easily the hot one.”
It's Harry's turn to snort, “and you say that because you’re biased. She's your mate, obviously you would choose her.”
Emmett grins and shrugs, “maybe we just chose the hottest for the respective gender we’re attracted to. You like hot blond dudes, I like hot blond chicks.”
Harry laughs and winks at Jasper, “hell yeah I do.”
Alice frowns at him, blurting, “I can't see you. I've never seen you.”
Harry looks at the girl in confusion and Emmett answers before he can even ask, “she's a seer. She sees the future but only if she is or was whatever the person is. She can’t see the wolves' future because she’s never been one of them.”
Harry nods and looks at her closer, “your powers, are they visions, prophecies, or something else?”
“Visions.”
Harry hums, “well if your power is limited to humans and vampires it would make sense that you’ve never seen me before then.”
He frowns and grasps the necklace around his throat, a black family heirloom to shield his mind. He focuses on Alice and allows her to not be influenced by it. She gasps, instantly going ridged in her seat as a vision takes hold of her. Her family stares at him, confusion and worry filling them.
“I can't read her mind.”
Their heads jerk in Edwards direction.
“What did you do to her?” Rosalie snarls at him.
Harry doesn't respond, watching as Alice comes out of the vision with a bright smile. She hops up out of her seat and practically dances over to him.
“Oh, you just have to meet Carlise! He’d love you. He's met your kind before too! And he's british.”
Harry smiles at her and grasps her hand gently, “I’d love to meet him. You’ll be able to see me now but any vision including me will be hidden in your head from anyone else.”
She nods happily, “I know. I saw it.”
Harry laughs happily, knowing Alice would be a delight to be around.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Harry sighs as he stares up at the glass house, how vampires controlled their strength to such a degree to not shatter every inch of this place was astronomical. The second he reaches the porch a blur appears and the door is flung open.

“Harry!”

He laughs as Alice hugs him tightly, “come on! We made dinner! Everyone is excited to see you!”

He follows her, amused as she leads him though the house to the dining room. She gently pushes him into a seat before bouncing away to grab a plate of food for him. He smiles slightly at Bella, who ignores him. He shrugs and glances around, a man and woman he had never met stood near Alice preparing the food. Carlisle and Esmee, he presumed. Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper were nowhere in sight, Edward hovered over Bella. Harry almost pouted at that, those three were amusing, he had been looking forward to seeing them.

“Don't pout, Harry! Jazzy will be here soon!”

Harry laughs at Alice’s comment, “will Emmett and Rosalie be here too?”

Alice rolls her eyes, “no, Rosalie refused. So Emmett took her shopping instead.”

Harry nods and takes the plate of food gratefully, “thank you, all of you.”

Alice nods with a smile and Esmee appears at his other side.

“Oh it was no problem at all dear! Anytime you like, come over and I'll cook for you! It's a hobby of mine I so rarely get to practice!”

Harry smiles at her, “you could always cook and then donate the food to shelters.”

“Oh. That's a wonderful idea!”

Carlisle smiles at him as he joins them, “I agree, Harry. Please come over any time. You are very welcome here. Alice has told us all about you. Nothing serious or bad, so don't worry.”

Harry smiles and nods, knowing the vampire couldn’t even speak of her visions of him to others without his consent.

“I appreciate that and thank you, It looks delicious.”

Harry smiles as they chatter on and on with one another, gossip and easy going conversations flow amongst them. His attention is taken away from the others as Jaser enters the dining room, stiff and uncomfortable. His chest doesn’t move, Harry raises a curious eyebrow, was the man not even breathing? He stays along the edges of the room, avoiding the two humans. Harry frowns and fingers his wand in his pocket, subtly waving it and extinguishing his and Bella’a scents. Edward’s snarls loudly, his expression vicious as he looks around.

“What just happened? Why can’t I smell you?”

Harry looks at the man in surprise, “I noticed you all struggling in the presence of humans so I got rid of our scents.”

Edward glares at him, “undo it, now.”

Harry smiles and shrugs, diminishing the effect on Bella’s spell but keeping his intact. That way they’ll still be able to smell Bella in a non-overwhelming way, but couldn’t smell him at all.

Jasper breathes in deeply and frowns, “you kept yours up. Undo it. At least slightly, please?”

Harry tilts his head in consideration, standing and moving closer to the man. Looking around as the others stiffen as he approaches. Interesting, they don’t trust Jasper with him. He goes even closer, watching as the man himself stiffens, he doesn’t even trust himself. He narrows his eyes and steps so close their chests almost touch. He stares into those amber eyes and grins, unleashing the spell in its entirety. The man gulps and jumps back. At least, he tries to. His eyes widen as he realizes he’s stuck, incapable of movement. He stares at Harry as he breathes.

The man grins up at the blond, “it’s interesting how none of you trust him, how he doesn’t even trust himself, when his first reaction was to jump away from me, not towards me.”

They all stare at him in horror before Edward jumps up and snarls ferociously at him, “you could have gotten her killed!”

Harry stares at the man in surprise as he roars the final word, someone has anger issues. The man is a blur of motion as he rushes at Harry, the man unfazed by the temper tantrum. His eyes widen as Jasper jumps in front of him, smashing into Edward with a loud boom as the two immortals struggle. The blond grabs Edward in a headlock, so tight the man’s neck crackles. Edward struggles furiously, not budging an inch as the blond stares down at him impassively. Harry blushes, staring at the man in awe. He had subdued the mind reader, as if he was a mere child.

A southern drawl erupts from the blond as his face hardens, “you forget who I was before this family, Edward. Did you really think you could beat me in an actual fight? I spent the forty years before you were born fighting a war, a Vampiric war. Under Maria herself, Queen of the South. You think you could win against me? Her Major?”

Harry gapes at the man, he had read about him. Not in his textbooks, but other ones, depicting Vampires in detail. Jasper Whitlock. The Major, the most feared vampire in the world. No one knew where he had gone after he had left the wars, the Voltori would kill to have him be a part of their guard. They already had, searching for him in every corner of the word before giving up. The rest of the family ignores Harry as they watch Jasper hold Edward in fear.

Harry gulps, “you’re Jasper Whitlock?”

Jasper whips his head around to look at Harry in shock, “how do you know that name?”

Harry’s hands shake slightly at the growl in Jasper’s voice, “you’re…you’re famous in my world. Almost as feared as our dark lords Grindlewald and Voldemort,” his voice softens as he looks at the man in front of him with fear, “some even fear you more than them, myself included.”

The family look at him in shock, “you fear Jasper?”

Harry looks at Alice as if she were stupid, “you don't?”

Edward had stopped struggling moments ago, Jasper lets him go, staring at Harry in surprise.

“Why do you fear me more than them?” His voice is filled with curiosity as he tilts his head.

Harry stares at the man, his voice so calm, as if unfazed by the terror coming off of the man in front of him.

“I’ve fought Voldemort and lived. He’s supposed to have been the worse option between him and Grindelwald. But you? I know I wouldn't survive if I fought you. And you disappeared, as if you never existed. That is a whole other version of terrifying. Everyone in Britain is terrified to say Voldemort’s name. You? They are terrified to even think of you, thinking you'll appear as if you’re the boogie man if they do. You fought and controlled newborns, entire armies of them. A wizard couldn’t even control one of them, Merlin himself couldn't. The fact that your power is so immense that you could control one of them is terrifying, but armies? You are a horror story across the wizarding world, Jasper Whitlock, all of us living in terror of the day you return.”

Jasper takes a step towards Harry, only for the other man to take two rapid steps back. His eyebrows raise as he looks down at the terrified man in front of him, he smirks and rushes at him. The wizard crushing his back against the wall as he stares up at Jasper is absolute terror, his heartbeat rapid in his chest as he stares into those amber eyes. Sharp teeth peek out from behind those lips and he squeaks in horror. Jasper laughs softly as he grins, fangs on display for all to see. The blond leans down and grins as that heartbeat begins to go faster and faster.

“You’re scared? Why? I'm harmless,” Jasper smiles innocently at the man in front of him with wide eyes.

Harry whimpers, gulping harshly at the man and trying to press himself even further into the wall. Strong arms surround Harry's head on either side, those toned forearms laying against the wall as he leans in so close their noses brush. Harry shook like a leaf, staring death in the eyes as he grins down at him. Jasper moved his head to the side to run his nose down Harry's face, all the way down his neck, to the junction where his shoulder meets his neck.

“Should I?” He breathes the question almost silently into Harry’s ear.

Harry whimpers again, closing his eyes sharply.

“Say my name, don't be afraid, say it.”

Harry gulps, eyes still glued shut as he whispers those dreaded words, “Jasper Whitlock, Major of the South, God of War.”

Jasper moves away, staring into those emerald eyes with a sweet smile as he purrs, “good boy, maybe you could be General. After all, I already have a Lieutenant and Captain, I hardly need more of those.”

Harry’s mouth drops open, “Lieutenant Peter Whitlock and Captain Charlotte Whitlock?”

Jasper smiles down at him, “smart boy, I'll make a warrior out of you yet.”

Harry inhales sharply as he stares at the man, “that’s why I left Britain, I don't want to be anyones soldier.”

“Who said anything about a soldier,” Jasper asks sweetly, “I thought I said warrior. I hardly need a soldier to do my dirty work when I'm far more capable of that than you. You simply need to be able to defend yourself from the monsters under your bed,” he smirks, “or the ones hidden in plain sight.”

Chapter 2

Notes:

This is a bit of a short chapter but I liked the ending wayyyy too much to continue it lol

Chapter Text

Harry stares up at his ceiling late at night, The God of War. He shivers, the man he had been terrified of since first year, he had gone behind Hagrid’s back when he had first introduced Harry to the wizarding world. Harry had bought far more books than the half giant knew, almost all about different creatures.

Maybe Hagrid had known but let him once he saw the type of books he had grabbed. No matter what, he had researched the rest of the summer and even into the school year about different magical creatures and beings. It was then that he had learned of Jasper Whitlock, he had read and read and read some more. It was never enough, he wanted more, more information, more evidence, more knowledge on the man. Each tiny detail on the man’s life and experience terrified him more and more. The man could kill him with a simple look, take control of his emotions and make him just as mad as the Longbottoms.

He gulps and sits up, he won't fall asleep, he couldn't, not with the knowledge of just who Jasper is. The man he had flirted with. The Cullens had known and not cared. Harry shakes his head and laughs mockingly, they didn't understand, didn't know just how terrifying of a man they housed. His hands shake as he turns on the lights in the living room downstairs, glancing about as if expecting Jasper to pop out of nowhere to kill him.

He bites his lip and stares at the door, he needs out, needs air. He shuts the light back off and goes to the door, opening it silently before closing it just as softly. He whispers the spell to allow him to see in the dark, before rushing away. Running as quickly as his body will allow him, away from his family, away from the house, away from everything. Jumping over roots, dodging branches, he keeps running when his feet hit sand. He stares at the ocean, slowing as he watches the waves crash into the sand. The gentle sound soothing him, sighing, he pants slightly before dropping onto a beached log.

His mind is blank, no thoughts to interrupt him as he smiles at the blue calm sea in front of him. Peaceful, so very peaceful. Just as he goes to lay down upon the log, a sound jerks him up and into an alert mindstate. It had been a splash. He frowns as he scans the sea, had it been a fish? He gulps, or perhaps Jasper? Coming to kill him now that he knew his long kept secret? He grips his wand tightly, knuckles turning white as he glares out into the ocean.

His wand barely moves as he erects a shield around him, ensuring even a vampire couldn't make its way inside. Something red shines from the ocean, he narrows his eyes as it disappears back into the water. It almost seemed as if it was hair. Another splash, right in front of him, that same red appears, just for a moment. Before a blur springs from the water and rushes at him, he clenches his teeth and stands strong, knowing his shield will protect him. And it does, the blur crashes into his with a crash, sending it, her, sprawling.

She springs up with a violent hiss, staring at him with violence in those red eyes. Another blur appears, attacking the shield with the same result as the woman. The man smirks at him evilly from the other side of the shield as a second man appears next to the first, watching Harry curiously.

“A wizard,” the woman whispers, staring at him, enchanted.

The second man tilts his head, “I wonder what powers you would keep after being turned, or perhaps, gain.”

Harry stiffens, staring at them in horror. He would lose his magic if he were turned. He glares at them viciously, prepared to fight, fight for his very life. He freezes. Breathing in shallowly as he feels something resting in his other hand. The very hand that had just been unoccupied moments ago.

His breath leaves him in a shaky exhale as he feels a ring upon his finger, and a cloak draped over his shoulders. He glances down, eyes wide as he takes in the wand, the ring, and his invisibility cloak. He looks up at the three vampires surrounding him, he had heard the legends. The legends of the deathly hallows, The Master of Death. He twirls the elder wand in his hand and breathes deeply as it sings. The ring vibrates upon his finger and the cloak hugs him tightly. He meets those red eyes across from him without fear, his own green ones glowing in the moonlight.

“Master of Death,” his voice is quiet, not even a whisper as he says the words aloud for the first time.

The moon blinks out of existence, the vampires shriek in terror, their shouts heightening in pitch as it appears, Death. They flee, running faster than Harry's eyes can conceive as the deity stands before him.

“Master,” the sound is soft, sibilant as the deity stares down at Harry.

Harry gulps, “but how? How can I be your master? I didn't collect your hollows.”

Death grins, teeth sharp as they reply, “oh but you did, master. Right after your dear godfather died. Your headmaster showed you the ring, you had been holding your cloak as he did so. Then you shattered his office, disarming him as you did. Making you the true master of the elder wand. All three hallows belonged to you at that moment. And you had greeted death like an old friend not once in your life, but many times. Yet you always escaped my grasp.”

Harry's mouth drops open as he remembers that day, the agony, the terror, the moment of calm after his outbreak in the headmasters office. The singular moment where everything had felt calm, still. He looks into the eyes of Death and understands. He had felt peace, had felt it everyday since Sirius had died. He had become death, or at least a part of it. He breaths in, feeling. His eyes close and those teathers he had ignored brighten, leading him throughout the world. He opens his eyes to a lighter earth, one filled with magic, light, life.

Death smiles at him softly, “anytime you need me, master, just call my name and I will come. Your powers will come to you as the time passes, practice when you can.”

And with that, the deity disappears, leaving Harry standing on the solemn beach, alone, and at peace.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harry walks into school with his head on a swivel, looking at anything and everything. Watching the lights flicker and brighten around him. Each and every person has one, some brighter than others, some more reactive, all of them different colors. Almost all of the lights surrounding him were bright, cheerful as they flickered about. He smiles as he makes his way to his first class, almost dropping his book as he enters. Oh, that's what the lights were.
He gulps as he makes his way to his desk, staring at his elderly teacher the entire time. Her light was graying, drooping, simply swirling around her slowly rather than twinkling and twining all over the place. It was her soul, showing just how close to death she was. He bites his lip and watches as his peers enter, sadly watching as a sickly girl takes her seat, her light still bright, fighting viciously, but losing color, slowing down with each flicker it makes. He gulps, looking away quickly, refusing to acknowledge the depressing facts around him. Listening to the lecture with half an ear, he takes notes, not on the lesson, but on the souls.
Color for life, graying for death. Slow for dying, fast for living. So on and so forth, he stares at those around him and makes his observations, writing them all down as he does so. He sighs as the class comes to an end, standing and making his way to the next, ready to redo his notes and continue them all day. Far more invested in the souls than whatever knowledge his teachers could throw at him. He would always be the master of death, but he would get the chance to learn muggle studies later on in life. The souls? That was a part of him, part of his life, he had to know what it was. Before it was too late, before it hurt him, it ruined him.
He remembers how it had felt to not know, not understand himself. When he was little his powers had hurt him, indirectly, but they had. His relatives punishing him for it, once he had learned about himself, understood what he was, it hurt less.
So involved in his studies, he freezes as he exits the class, lunch time. With the Cullens, with Jasper. He gulps, hands shaking as he makes his way to the cafeteria, quickly taking his seat with his friends, attempting to look as normal as possible with the knowledge of just who would take that seat nearby.
He chews his food, the sandwich tasting like ash in his mouth as he does so. He shakily exhales as they enter, one couple at a time, before finally Jasper and Alice arrive. Those amber eyes meet him the instant Jasper enters, a devilish grin makes its way onto that demonic face before Jasper turns to Alice, who's already waving him away. His grin grows, not even excusing himself before making his way to Harry.
The brunette stares at the blond in sheer terror as he approaches. He would rather face those three vampires again, without being the master of death, than face this man. He gulps as Jasper settles a hand on the back of his chair before leaning down, his face millimeters from Harry’s own.
“Well hello again, darlin’ mind joining me for a walk along the grounds?”
His wide eyes stare into those amber ones with fear plain for all to see.
Jessica giggles, “go on harry, join him!”
His friends all agree, either ignoring his terror, or not seeing it from where Jasper hid Harry’s expression with his own face.
“Well then, Darlin’ come on,” a hand grasps his own, pulling him to his feet and turning him away from his friends quickly, not allowing them to see the terror written across his face as Jasper leads him away.
Their footsteps are soft as they make their way out of the school, across the grounds, and all the way to the forest. His heart beats rapidly within his chest, his breathing quick as he is pulled along by the man. Finally, finally, they stop. Jasper takes a seat upon a tree stump, relaxing as he watches Harry wring his hands as his eyes dart around wildly.
“You look nervous, Darlin’ why's that?”
Harry gulps and looks at him incredulously, “did you not hear me the other day? Not hear my explanation of kind’s terror when it comes to you, my terror?”
Jasper smirks, his body becoming a blur before he appears directly in front of Harry. The brunette yelps and darts away, tripping on a root as he does so. He stares up at the canopy of trees above him, unable to breathe from the hit he had taken. He chokes and coughs, sputtering as his breath finally escapes him. He stares up at the blond and scrambles away, crawling backwards as Jasper slowly walks towards him, that smirk on his face all the while. Harry whimpers as his back hits a tree, he gulps as he watches Jasper’s head tilt in curiosity before he crouches down in front of harry. He reaches out a hand and grazes a finger along Harry's chin, his tough feather light as his eyes track his own fingers movements along the fragile man’s body.
“Your terror excites me,” the blond exhales, pupils blown wide as he watches the man in front of him, “in a way I have never felt before. You, Harry Potter, are an enigma. You have made me feel emotions that are my own for the first time since I was a human, 140 years ago.”
Jasper's head tilts to the side again as he stares at Harry, “I have felt emotions for over a hundred years, Harry. But not a single one was my own. But you, you have made me feel for the first time that I can remember. And it is addicting.”
Chapter Text
Harry shudders as he remembers Jasper and his conversion earlier that day. The man had not felt a single emotion in over a hundred years that was his own. Every single emotion the man felt was someone else's. He gulps, no wonder the man was such a different person now compared to when he was in the south.
He was now surrounded by the emotions of the Cullens, the furthest he could get from Maria and her armies. But once he had set his sights on Harry? The man had gone feral. It had only begun after he had visited their home, Harry curses himself for that. If he hadn't gone then none of this would have ever happened, Jasper would never have become interested, and Harry wouldn't have become Jasper's prey
He bites his lip surveying his small room in the quiet night. Billy was already sleeping, Jacob was with Quill and Embry. He sighs, twisting in his sheets staring at the blank wall in front of him before squeezing his eyes closed. Enough, enough, enough. He needs sleep, he needs to just fall asleep and let this day be over.
He needs to stop thinking about the smirk on that handsome face as he stared down at Harry before vanishing back into the school. He needs to stop thinking about the terror that follows him any time Jasper is mentioned. His body stays tense as his thoughts whirl about rapidly and he scowls, twisting around again before giving up and staring at the ceiling, it would be a long night.
Harry stares at the man in shock and the normal terror, baseball? He wanted Harry to come with them to play baseball? He gulps and slowly shakes his head in denial, barely moving before the blond shoves himself into Harry's personal space, grinning terribly down at the man with sharp canines on display.
“You’re coming, even if I have to drag you out of the reservation myself.”
Harry gulps, “you, you can't…”
Jasper's grin widens as he leans closer to the man, “have you forgotten my powers darlin? I could have you do whatever I wanted from all the way across the world. Having you come play baseball from maybe a mile away? That's child's play. You’re coming, no arguing.”
Harry shuts his gaping mouth, watching as the blond walks away. Across the world? He could make someone do whatever he wanted even if they were all the way across the world from him? His breath quickens in his chest and he rushes to the nearest bathroom, locking himself in the closest stall as he collapses. Failing to breathe in the air he so desperately needs. He clenches his fists so tight his palms shriek with pain, his nails digging into the sensitive skin.
The bell rings, he stays there, kneeling on the disgusting floor as his breathing finally calms, slowly going back to normal as he stares at the door filled with crude drawings. He sways slightly as he stands, perhaps he could skip the rest of the day. Rest at home in peace, try to ignore his inevitable encounter with the vampire family and their pet demon. He nods, spinning on his heel, disappearing from the stall, the school, Forks. Reappearing in Billy’s house on the reservation with a sigh of relief as he slumps into the couch cushions. His eyes close as he lays down, slowly falling into black abyss happily.
Hands shaking, body trembling, Harry appears before the Cullen’s house. His footsteps are soft and slow as he forces himself to move towards the porch. His shriek echoes throughout the yard and into the forest as something jumps at him. Landing directly next to him, Jasper grins, those sharp fangs on show as always when Harry was near. Harry gapes at the man, had he been laying in wait on the roof of the house this entire time? As if seeing the question on Harry's face, Jasper laughs softly, walking even closer to the man.
“My room has a large window, I was watching from there.”
Harry gulps and tries to step back from the approaching vampire but those strong arms stop him. Enveloping him in a cold and hard cage as Jasper continues speaking.
“I had forgotten how it felt to feel my own emotions, you know? I can’t even say for sure if I felt them during my human life. The only things I remember from it are being a soldier and my family hating me for my choice in who I fought for. Once I became a vampire, emotions were nonexistent in one form, and my entire life, entire being in another form. I didn’t even notice for years, I had thought those emotions were mine.
"Then it was as if I had awoken from a dream, slowly but surely. I realized I was feeling Maria, the newborns, neighboring lords and ladies, but never myself. I couldn't even fall into the depression my mind and mental state wanted to, hoped to. So I used the emotions near me to my advantage, soaking in the ones I wanted and pushing away the ones I didn't. The only happiness I was given during that time was when Peter arrived, but then he had found Charlotte and fled. I let them, caught them as they were running and looked in the other direction. Peter had brought such positive emotions and energy to the camp."
"Without him it was bleak as it had been in those years before him. I had left quickly after that, thinking that perhaps my emotions would return if I left the camp. They did not, they never did. I spent at least 142 years emotionless and unable to feel anything. And then you came. I didn't notice anything before, you were always too far away and hiding your scent, without anyone of us noticing. When you came to our home you didn’t hide it, and I felt."
"For the first time in over a century I felt my own emotions. And then you hid that from me, your scent, your very being, trying to be considerate, whilst taking away the most blissful thing I had ever felt in my entire immortal life before. Then you had stalked to me, as if I was the prey and not you. Then your scent blasted me in the face, the entire thing. The emotions that hit me then, all at once. Every single emotion you could name, I felt in that moment. Edward lunged at you, trying to take that away from me. And my past fueled me, bringing out the version of me that I haven't shown to the world in decades.”
Harry stares at the other man as he finally meets Harry’s eyes with a grin that was softer than the others he had directed at him before.
“You have given me freedom, Harry. And I'm not letting it go, ever again.”
Jasper slowly detaches himself from Harry as the others finally begin to arrive outside of the house, somehow ignorant to the conversation that had taken place within their ear shot. Jasper winks at him when he sees the confusion on his face and Harry scowls, of course he had done something to ensure their privacy. He watches the man go, walking towards his family without looking back, his hands beginning to shake again as he remembers those haunting words. I'm not letting it go, ever again. Harry bites his lip, reading between the lines as he too approaches the rest of the Cullen's, staying as far away from Jasper as he possibly could. I’m not letting you go, ever again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The thunder roils above them as they drive to the field. Emmett’s driving as Rosalie scowls in the passenger seat, annoyed at the presence of Bella. She was fine with him since he posed little threat to their family, but Bella? That was another thing altogether. She had seemed rather open to his presence for some reason, none of the family knowing why, except Emmett of course, but he just grinned at Harry and welcomed him to his jeep before taking off down the rough and bumpy road. Harry sighs as they jerk to a stop, Emmett whooping in excitement as he jumps out. Rosalie rolls her eyes fondly with a small, almost hidden, smile as she follows him. He stares at the handle of the door before finally reaching for it, only to jerk back in surprise as it opens before he can grab it. Amber eyes stare into his as he holds another hand out for Harry to grab.

“Come on, sugar. We've got a game to win.”

Harry clenches his teeth and slowly reaches out for the hand, grasping it gently as Jasper smiles victoriously. He’s pulled out from the jeep with care as Jasper leads him to the homebase where the rest of the Cullen’s have gathered. The family easily split up into teams,

Carlisle, Esmee, Edward, Alice, and Bella on one team. Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper, and Harry on another.

“Why do we only have four?” Emmett grumbles.

Rolsalie scoffs, “because Bella doesn't count, you numbskull. Harry might actually help us but Bella? She can’t possibly help them win. She's a human.”

Bella blushes bright red and Edward glares at Rosalie furiously, the rest of the family looks towards Harry. Curiosity shines in their eyes as they look at the man, wondering if he could actually keep up with them. He tilts his head before smirking, his hand reaching up to the moleskin pouch around his neck.

“How fast exactly do you run?”

“Well over 100 miles per hour, I can get close to 200,” Edward of course answers with arrogance as he looks down at Harry cockily.

Harry smiles back at the man and reaches into the pouch, taking his firebolt out from within, “well then, I can easily keep up.”

They stare at him, bewildered, some even pitying.

“A broom? How is that going to help you?”

Harry winks at Bella, “you’ll just have to find out, now won't you?”

The family still look at him oddly as they prepare the game, his team would bat first, him at the very end of the line. He smirks, still holding his firebolt as each of his team bat, the ball slamming into the bat with a catastrophic boom before disappearing into the woods, the other team blurring to rush for it. Finally, it's his turn. He looks at the bat and shrugs his shoulders, applying charms upon charms to his body to withstand the power of the throw.

Edward smirks at him as he holds the ball. Harry sighs before bending down to pick up the bat, enhancing his eyesight to actually be able to see the ball. He readies himself, confident in his skills. He may have been a seeker, but he could have been a damn good beater according to Oliver, and that man knows his quidditch. Not even giving Harry any time to prepare, Edward chucks the ball as hard as he can, the family gasping in horror as he does so.

His arms move without even thinking, slamming the bat into the ball harshly before he jumps on his broom and races for first base. The family gaping at him as the ball races into the forest, finally Edward runs for it. Emmett makes it to homebase hollering, Jasper close behind. Harry rushes his firebolt as fast as it can go, touching his foot down at each base. Edward appears with the ball and Harry scowls, pushing the broom even faster. The ball zooms across the pitch towards homebase, Carlisle ready to catch it at a moment's notice. Harry smirks, pushing the firebolt to the maximum capacity and rushing past homebase, foot touching the plate a second before Carlise catches the ball. Emmett hollars with joy running up to Harry as he does so.

“Hell yeah, man! What the hell is that?”

Harry smiles at Emmett, “a firebolt. The fastest racing broom on the market!”

Emmett grins, “Can I try?”

Alice gasps, everyone stops, staring at her without movement. She turns to Bella in horror.

“They're coming! I thought they moved on but they heard us playing and they changed course!”

Harry looks at her in confusion, “who? Who is coming, Alice?”

“The vampires. The rogue ones that have been killing the people in forks. They were moving on but heard us playing and theyre on their way. They want to join.”

The family tries to have him and Bella run, but there’s no time. They shove him and Bella to the very back, Edward and Jasper directly next to them. Harry’s eyebrows raise as he sees the vampires in question, a shield raising around the Cullen’s as they appear. The same three that had attacked him just days ago on the beach. They smirk cruelly at the Cullens as they speak. Trying their best to join the game. The rugged man breathes in deeply, tilting his head in curiosity.

“You brought a snack.”

The family rush towards him and Bella, Harry rolls his eyes and apperates to the very edge of the shield. The Cullen’s gasping and yelling out in horror. The rogue vampires stare at him in surprise, eyes wide as they remember him.

“The little wizard.”

The woman tilts her head and smiles at the Cullen’s “you’re a mixed coven. With vampires and wixen alike.”

The rugged man snarls and approaches the shield, reaching a hand out only for it to be stopped by the invisible wall. His red eyes meet Harry's own green as he growls at the man. Harry grins with all of his teeth on display, practically daring the man to do something. His fist slams into the shield in response and Harry grins. An enemy with a temper was the easiest to defeat, he would know.

“I'll kill you. I'll rip out that pretty little throat of yours and laugh as you choke on your blood.”

A wicked snarl erupts from behind Harry and he pales, gulping harshly as Jasper appears beside him. A smirk on his face as he stares down at the rugged man, James.

“Careful, you don’t want to do that, trust me.”

James laughs wickedly, “and why’s that?”

Jasper leans forward and rests his forearms against the shield, letting his southern drawl come out to play, “I was in the wars, close to 80 years in ‘em. You dont wanna attack my family now that I got ‘em.”

James’ eyes widen, as do all of the rest of the eyes in the field. They stare at Jasper in horror, he grins and rolls up his sleeves, the mottled scares standing out starkly against his pale skin. James staggers back, staring at those scars in terror. his eyes scan the fmaily once more before landing on Bella and Harry. He glares furiously before turning on his heel and leaving. The Cullen’s sigh in relief befor bustling Harry and Bella into the cars once more, this time Jasper joining his group as they rush back to the house. His thick and scarred arm rest along Harry's shoulders, gripping the man tightly.

“He's going to hunt you. I may have only made it worse. He sees me as a challenge, the rest of the family as a challenge. Killing you and Bella will be the biggest hunt he’s ever had yet.”

Harry hums, “well he’ll just have to keep trying, then. I'm not exactly easy to kill,” he laughs mercilessly.

Jasper tightens his hold on the man, “I'm not lettin’ you outta my sight sugar,”

Chapter 4

Notes:

Shorter chapter but this is my second one today so I think that can be excused. Also had a headache while writing it so if it's shitty just tell me and I'll edit it later lmao 😘😘😘

Chapter Text

Harry rolls his eyes at the drama. Really? Verbally abusing your own father in response to this? This is barely even a threat, just a bitchy vampire posse needing attention. Really, if they had told him what they were planning he could have helped. He didn’t even need to obviate the poor man, just convince him Bella was going on a small trip with the family.

He stays quiet as Jasper drives them away from Forks, Alice chattering happily in the passenger seat. She turns to face Jasper, setting a hand on his arm gently and Harry frowns. Staring at that hand in confusion, he doesn’t know why, but he didn’t like her touching Jasper. The man in question raises an eyebrow, staring at Harry through the mirror, wondering at the sudden jealousy that coated his emotions.

He looks down at his own arm before smirking, moving his opposite hand to grasp Alice’s own. His smirk turns into a full grin as that jealousy spikes. He licks his licks and moves his hands back to the wheel, maybe it was time to ramp things up to the next level, push Harry to his limits.

He sighs as he makes a right turn, speeding up as he reaches the highway, rushing past other cars easily as they make their way to the airport. He glances back at Harry in the backseat, so very young, but so very strong. The other boy was only 18, yet he had stood up to those rouge vampires as if they were nothing. He clenches his fists around the steering wheel as he remembers Harry saying he had been abused as a child before being taken in by a cult. The wheel squeaks slightly in protest and he slowly lets up on the pressure, clenching his teeth instead. Alice looks over at him, concerned, he just shakes his head. Now wasn't the time for that conversation, they could talk later, right now he had to focus on getting these two out of Forks, out of Washington itself.

Harry’s breath escapes him in a harsh exhale as he stares at the dog in the other car as they pass. Shaggy black hair covers the entire dog, tongue lolling out of its mouth as it stares out of the window back at Harry. He gulps, Sirius. So few times had he thought of the man since his death. His new found connection to death causing him to feel oh so very peaceful about his godfather's passing.

His eyes fill up with tears as he remembers the man, so cheerful and patient with Harry. He had taken the boy under his wing when he was 15, the year he had escaped azkaban. The next two years he had helped Harry as much as possible, protecting him from the Dursleys whilst he still was forced to go back to his relatives, helping him with the triwizard tournament, and even coming to save him in the ministry that fateful night.

A few tears slip out going unnoticed by anyone else, or so he believed. Jasper looks at him concerned through the mirror before sharing a glance with Alice, he could feel the agony. They both could smell the tears. He sighs, turning back to the road, he would talk to the little wizard about it another time, when he wasn't worried about protecting him from those vampires.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harry sits in the hotel room, bored as he watches the others talk together across the room. His eyes narrow as he watches Bella, her odd behavior catching his eye. Seeing her distract the two vampires, he watches curiously, as she leaves, forgetting all about him on the other side of the room. He sighs as he stands, following her out, using the invisibility cloak as he goes. His footsteps are quiet as he joins her in the elevator, she twines her hands together nervously and Harry rolls his eyes. Sure it might be intimidating for her, but this was nothing for him.
He had had to deal with not only a possessed professor in his first year when he had been only 14, but also a diary horcrux trying to kill everyone. His second year was when Sirius had escaped, along with his cousin Bellatrix. The man being innocent and protecting Harry from his cousin and Pettigrew at every turn. Third year had been the tournament, not to mention the dreadful Umbridge as their High Inquisitor. His fourth year had been when Dumbldore had told him of the horcruxes, taking him to find the locket, only to come back to death eaters swarming the castle. Then fifth year, attacks had been happening left and right, Dumbledore barely surviving the battle at Hogwarts the year before.
The man had ended up cursed by another horcrux during the summer, the ring that now laid on Harry’s finger. Hogwarts was close to falling to the dark side, and then Voldemort had sent the vision. Harry had rushed to the ministry, taking his friend with him. Sirius had died that night, right in front of him. Then Harry had defeated Voldemort in a battle of their minds, shredding the man’s mental state beyond repair. The horcruxes had been destroyed, just leaving the empty body of the terrible man. Harry shudders, looking back at the girl in front of him, yes, these vampires were nothing for him. He had been involved in magic and warfare ever since he was 14, three little vamps were childs play.
He rolls his shoulders as he leaves the elevators behind Bella, flying after the taxi quickly as it takes off. He furrows his eyebrows in confusion as he watches her stop and walk into a dance studio. He huffs in exasperation as he follows her, rushing up the stairs as she runs, ignorant of the danger she was rushing straight into. Harry knew a trap when he saw one, at least, now he did. He watches as Bella stops in confusion, staring at James in horror when she finally realizes the trap he had laid at her feet.
The attack is swift, her leg breaks and her scream reverberates throughout the studio. Harry clenches his teeth at the sound before finally blasing the man away from her. The cloak dissolves from its place around his shoulders as he stares at the vampire in front of him, a shield now surrounding Bella. The vampire snarls, stalking towards him quickly. Harry simply smiles, watching the approach fearlessly. Harry dodges quickly as the man attempts to tackle him, laughing as he falls to the floor with a loud smack. The man whips his body around to face Harry again, his face glaring at him ferociously.
“You won't be laughing soon.”
Harry tilts his head to the side, staring down at the man with a bright shiny smile, “and why is that?”
“You'll be dead.”
Harry laughs again, dodging as the man launches himself at Harry once more. He sighs, shaking his head at the impulsive man.
“Have you ever thought about therapy? I've heard that it can help with anger issues.”
Bella gasps in horror as she watches, her eyes meeting his after his quip. He grins, again jumping away from James.
“I’ll fucking kill you! I'll rip your throat out and drain you dry!”
Harry hums, “not very creative, that. At least add in some torture when you threaten someone, amateur.”
James stops launching himself at Harry, stalking up towards him slowly. His head is tilted in threat as he approaches, a terrible grin upon his face. Harry returns the grin, finally, the fight could begin. He slashes his wand at the man and laughs joyfully as the man dodges the whip of flame quickly. He dodges another, more thought out, attack before sending a blood boiling curse at the man. It would boil the contents of his veins, the venom rather than the missing blood.
He pouts as it misses, the man moving too quickly. They circle one another swiftly, attacking at random as they snarl, quip, and laugh at one another. A crash distracts James as he whips his head in the direction of it, Harry smiles. His wand moves silently, swiftly as he decapitates the man. Venom blasting from the wound and spraying the room as Bella shrieks in terror. Harry laughs happily, covered in venom as he looks at the Cullen’s with a wide smile.
“Look who finally made it! Too late for most everything! But you can burn the body!”
Jasper stares at the sight in front of him, not breathing as he looks at the venom drenched man in front of him. He gulps his own venom down as he takes in the sight. He clenches his teeth wildly as his body reacts to such a violent sight. His cock twitching in his pants like it never has before. His need fills him, he inhales deeply, finally taking in that sweet smell of venom and him.
His canines lengthen, his pupils blown wide as he takes a step forward, ignoring Edward hovering over Bella. Their eyes meet, Harry's own widen at the sight of the feral man before him and he gulps. He may have been able to fight James, but he was just a rouge, without any fighting experience. Jasper? Jasper had spent 80 years in the southern wars, fighting for Maria. Harry knew it would be a hopeless battle, Jasper would simply toy with him before finally putting him out of his misery. He straightens as the vampire approaches, staring at those now pitch black eyes with terror in his pounding heart.
Jasper licks his lips, leaning down and breathing in a deep breath, taking in those mingling scents. He circles Harry, staring at him all the while. Watching those shaking hands, the wide eyes, the bitten lip. He stops once he's facing the man once more, he smirks as he lowers his face to Harry’s, his tongue pokes out from between his lips before he licks a long strip of that pale skin. His tongue running all the way from the man’s chin to his forehead, licking the sweet venom off of Harry’s skin. He leans away, smirking at the man with venom now around his own mouth as Harry gapes at him, now clean cheek as red as an apple.
His tongue darts out to clean his own lips before he whispers, “didn’t I say you could be a warrior darlin?”
Chapter Text
Bella was traumatized, the Cullens made a whole deal of it. Pampering her and clinging to her with guilt. He rolls his eyes watching as she limps around the school. He would heal her, but would let her live with the consequences of her actions for a while. She had to learn somehow, if she refused to do it the easy way, then he’d force her to do it the hard way. He had already spelled to cast to influence everyone around her. Anyone that didn’t already know the truth would think it’s a simple strain and would be healed quickly. Rather than the actual break it was.
He sighs as he watches her be pandered to at the lunch table. Alice and Edward clambering over her to give her whatever she wanted, the other three ignoring her. Harry sighs, watching as Rosalie scowls at her, baring her teeth before turning back to Emmett and Jasper. The girl was so dramatic, it was just a broken leg, she was lucky that was all that happened. Hell, Harry had his entire arm vanished when he was 15!
He smiles at Jessica as she chatters endlessly about Mike. He shakes his head with a small amused look as he glances at Angelina. Jessica was absolutely obsessed with that boy. Harry couldn’t imagine why, he wasn’t the most handsome or the most charming. But he wouldn’t judge, not when it was Jessica, the happy gossip that could cheer anyone up with the newest and juiciest piece of gossip in town.
He glances back at the Cullens only to do a double take, Jasper was nowhere to be seen. The man had simply vanished. Harry frowns, he only looked away for a moment, how could he have disappeared that quickly? He squeaks as a hand squeezes his shoulder, a deep chuckle sounding above him.
“I wanted to show you something, Darlin.”
Harry gulps as he listens to that dark voice echoing through him. Looking around, he sighs as he sees his poor naive friend's excitement at Jasper’s presence. They motion for him to leave frantically, his best interests in mind, just with too little information to make good decisions. He stands and faces the killer, who simply grins at him. The man grasps his hand in his own cold hard one before tugging him forward, away from the table, the cafeteria, and outside. He huffs as he follows the man into the forest once again, will he ever learn not to follow strange men into forests?
They stop just within the treeline as Jasper turns to look at him, “I'll need to carry you, Darlin.”
Harry's eyes widen and he shakes his head frantically, be held by Jasper Whitlock? No thank you. Jasper grins and before Harry can even open his mouth to protest Jasper snatches him up and whisks him away into the unknown. He shrieks in panic and holds onto the man as tightly as possible as the world zips past them. Jasper laughs as he runs through the woods effortlessly, holding Harry gently as he jumps over logs and dodges tree branches. Up and up and up they go, before finally, Jasper slows, standing atop a mountain looking down at the world below them. Harry gapes as Jasper lets go of him, staring in awe at the sights, he had never even seen a mountain before, let alone be on top of one. The canopy of trees below spans far and wide, nothing else for as far as his eyes could see. The sound of rushing water reaches his ears and he turns around, searching.
“Its under us,”
He jumps, whirling around to see Jasper right behind him, their chests press together as the other man wraps an arm around his waist, turning him back around gently.
“I'll show you.”
He shuffles Harry over to the very edge of the mountain, pointing at the large waterfall ahead. Harry's mouth drops open in awe as he stares at the impossible sight. Water pours from the other side of the mountain, falling hundreds upon hundreds of feet before joining the ocean down below. Greenery grew along the walls of the mountain nearby, flowers and trees blooming. The shimmering water, the gorgeous colors of their surroundings, Harry sighs as he sits down, simply staring. Jasper joins him on the ground and Harry finally looks at the man, really looks at him. That handsome face, those broad shoulders, trim waist, the smile. He gulps, was he truly that terrifying? Not once had Jasper tried to harm him, he had always tried to help him, protect him. Yes, he enjoyed scaring Harry, using his fear against him, but he had never actually hurt him.
“Thank you,” he whispers, looking back out at the beautiful scene before them, “thank you.”
Jasper smiles with those perfect white teeth, not a fang in sight as he replies, “you're welcome.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Harry laughs joyfully, cuddled up next to the warm heat of Jacob, Bella scowls at him. Jacob ruffles his hair and squeezes Harry even closer to him.

“I think you've met my baby cousin, Bella?”

“I'm older than you!”

Jacob laughs loudly, “but you’re smaller so you're the baby! I've gotta protect you!”

Harry scoffs and sends a stinging jinx his way, laughing and ducking out from his arm as the boy yelps, giving chase as Harry runs. Dodging between the other party goers, he quickly ducks behind Sam, using him as a human shield, or really, a wolf shield. Sam huffs and rolls his eyes, continuing his conversation with Billy as Jacob and Harry circle him, using him as a buffer between the two. Jacob lunges and Harry yelps, hitting the sand as his cousin tackles him to the ground. The boy grabs his sides, ticking Harry, and his laughter echoes along the entirety of the beach as he struggles against his cousin's hold. Tears litter his face as Jacob finally lets up, grinning at him happily as he pulls the man up from the ground.

“Come on! Embry and Quill wanna see you!”

Harry laughs as he’s pulled along, “I saw them yesterday!”

Jacob looks at him with another wide grin, “I know, but they’re needy!”

Harry giggles slightly as the bigger boy pulls him along, all the way to the other side of the beach.

He lets go of Harry's hand and waves, “I'll be right back! I'm gonna go grab Bella!”

Harry shakes his head and sighs, looking back at Quill and Embry with a little grin, he had seen them just yesterday. He tilted his head again, smiling, but he had missed them. They were his friends, his family

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harry rolls his eyes as Bella once more complains endlessly about her leg. He had once liked the girl, but that was before all the drama and attention. It was her own actions that had led her to breaking her leg, she really shouldn't complain too much. His sigh is heard by the entire room and the Cullen’s go silent, watching him in curiosity. His eyes drift over to Bella once more, it had been a month. He could heal her now. He flicks his wand mindlessly, hiding his smile as Bella shrieks out in pain, Edward instantly lunging for harry. He bounces off his shield, and Harry lets his smile show as he watches the feral man endlessly attack the air whilst his “mate” is writhing on the floor in agony. Harry rolls his eyes, really? It was a broken leg, she didn't need to be that dramatic over it.
Edward finally stops attacking the shield and snarls at him, “what did you do to her?
Harry rolls his eyes as dramatically as the man’s false mate, “healed her.”
Edward’s head whirls to face Bella and Carlisle, looking at the shredded caste and the now perfectly set leg.
He looks back at Harry in rage, “you could have healed her! Why didn’t you?”
Harry shrugs, “you didn’t ask.”
Edward snarls at him again, “she was in pain and you knew you could help, but you decided not to?”
Harry nods, “yep!”
Rosalie laughs from her place next to Emmett across the room, “I knew there was a reason I liked you!”
Carlisle frowns at him, “why would you do that Harry? Wouldn’t it have been better to heal her from the very beginning?”
Harry shrugs, “she had to learn that her actions have consequences some way. It's better to be done in a controlled environment rather than something even worse happening to her later on. She should be glad I healed her at all, I just got sick of her whining. That, and she should be grateful I healed her properly and didn’t accidentally vanish all the bones in her leg, regoring bones hurts like a bitch.”
They all gape at him, Rosalie saying, “you had bones vanished before?”
Harry shrugs in response, “we had a really shit teacher one year.”
They stare at him in shock, “you say that like it's normal, Darlin.”
Harry scoffs, “that's because it is. Shit teachers were around every corner in magical britain. I’m lucky to have as much of an education as I do, those teachers didn’t have much going for them.”
Jasper narrows his eyes, “they were all so bad as to abuse you?”
Harry raises an eyebrow, “where did you get that from?”
Jasper’s lips twitch into the beginnings of a snarl, “they vanished your bones, Harry. Is that not the least bit concerning to you?”
Harry shrugs, “it wasn't that bad. Not as bad as fake Moody’s imperius curse.”
Jasper’s snarl comes to life then, “imperius curse? What's that?”
Harry gulps at the growl in that deep voice, trying to remember that his fear was unfounded, “well…er, its where you completely control another person's mind, its a highly illegal spell.”
Jasper glares even harsher at his answer, “a teacher cast a highly illegal spell on you to control your thoughts, emotions, and actions. Completely taking over your autonomy? And what do you mean by fake Moody?”
Harry bites his lip as he looks away, “well yeah, and it makes sense that he did it when he was a death eater in disguise. Death eaters are Voldemort's soldiers.”
Jasper clenches his teeth, his jawline bunching and his temples trembling, “you mean to say you had a terrorist as a teacher for an entire year that completely took over your bodily autonomy as he taught.”
Harry nods, no response to that.
Jasper hauls Harry out of his seat roughly, not even deigning his family a goodbye as he rushes them off into the forest.
Chapter Text
“You were abused an entire year at school, Harry! How is that not an issue?”
Harry stares at the enraged man in shock, not a single person had ever reacted that way to his life before. They usually were already used to what had happened to him, thought that it was simple gossip. But here this man was, this terrifying man who had killed thousands, enraged on his behalf. Harry doesn't understand why, it was just the way the world is, he was fates stepping stone. Jasper whirls around and snarls at him, Harry takes a step back, staring at the man warily. Jasper stalks up to him, a low growl reverberating up and out of his throat as he approaches swiftly, pinning Harry to a tree.
“You don't care. I can feel it. You think it's normal. They groomed you to think being abused and neglected and tortured was normal! It is not,” the man growls the last words, breathing heavily, midnight black eyes staring into Harry's very soul.
“You are numb to the thought of yourself in pain, abused, mistreated. It doesn't bother you, when it should. You should feel something, Harry. You should. You should feel anger, hatred, sadness, anything. But you don't,” his voice breaks as he says those last few words and Harry stares at the man in shock as black tears flow from his eyes.
Venom. Jasper was crying for him, he bites his lip watching as those pitch black tears roll down the immaculate skin. This was about him, but it was about Jasper too. Those tears are for both of them. He gulps, his own tears rising as he remembers everything he had been through, the pain, the agony, the guilt, the grief. It all comes to the surface as he’s faced with the other man’s sorrow. Jasper had faced eighty years of trauma, war, pain. A sob escapes him and he grips Jasper’s wrist tightly.
“It hurts, it hurts so much when I think about it. So I don't. I don't want the pain, the suffering, so I block it until I go numb. I can't deal with it Jasper, I know I can't!”
Jasper leans into him, covering his body with his own, completely enclosing Harry as he sighs into his messy hair, “the emotions are better than the numbness, Harry, so much better.”
Jasper's voice breaks, his body trembling against Harry's as more tears leave his eyes, making their way into that equally as dark hair. Harry lets go of Jasper's wrist in favor of gripping the man’s shoulder tightly, hugging him with all of his might as the pain suffocates him. He whimpers and Jaspers shudders, holding onto him just as tightly as they suffer together, feeling one another's pain in a never ending loop of agony.
That numbness, the everlasting numbness, he shakes as it encompasses him, his eyes rolling back into his head as it rips through him before tearing apart just as swiftly. Depression and terror coating him as his own emotions filter through the bond once more. The empath shudders against him, a sob escaping his throat as his knees give out.
They tumble to the ground, still entwined closely as they kneel in the dirt. Agony not his own, not Jasper’s filters through the empathy bond they had created and Harry chokes on it. His throat burns, as if a fire had been lit within, never to be put out. He whines, hiding his face within that broad chest in front of him. It hurt, it hurt so much! He was so thirsty! It vanished in a second, only to be replaced by a feeling he knew well, too well
Terror, ever loving everlasting terror. It had followed him his entire life, surrounded him in every moment around every corner. His breath leaves him hardly, he knew terror as well as the back of his hand, his scarred hand. His own clear tears mingle with Jasper's dark ones as they cry together, mourn their lives with one another, and heal beside each other. He sighs, leaning into the man further as the emotions finally slow and are soothed to a more manageable level. His eyes close just as slowly, his breathing becoming deep and his body relaxed. His consciousness fades into nothingness, but right on the tether between awake and asleep, he hears a near silent whisper.
“Got some sleep darlin, I'll watch over you, I swear it.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

His eyes flutter open and he smiles, snuggling into the cool pillow next to him, it tightens his hold on him and his eyes close once more. Only to shoot back open to stare at the pillow in front of him, the moving pillow. A deep chuckle erupts from above his head.

“You fell asleep, and I wasn't going to ignore your cute little snuffling and attempts at cuddling.”

Harry blushes cherry red and hides his face within that cool, hard chest as his blush overtakes him. The man simply laughs once more and tugs him closer, hugging him tightly.

“I'm sorry.”

Harry looks up at the man in confusion, sorry? What was the man sorry about?

Jasper smiles sadly down at him, gently smoothing a finger down his cheek as he answers, “I opened an empathic bond between us by accident. It allowed for that feedback loop to happen. I'm sorry that I did that.”

Harry sighs and snuggles even further into the man, completely at ease in his presence for once, “don't be sorry. I should be thanking you. I've been living in numbness for so long. Not like you, I still had emotions, I just ignored them. Without you I would have kept living that way. I needed someone to open them up, shred the shields around them and force me to feel them. You're right, emotions are better than the numbness, they hurt but the numbness is even worse.”

Harry gulps as he shudders, “you numbness was godawful, Jasper. I'm so sorry you had to live like that for so long, for over a century. These emotions, even though theyre terrible and miserable, they make us what we are. Without them we just go through the motions without meaning. And this would have happened with or without you forcing it. I would have broken down eventually, it's just a plus having somone as broken and miserable as you to be there for you when it happens.”

Jasper sighs and encloses Harry within those strong arms of his once more, gripping him tightly, “having you by my side during that was the best case scenario, Darlin. I would have been bedridden for days if not weeks without that feedback loop. The emotions would have just built up and whirled around my mind until I finally got through them all. The loop sped that up, forcing us to feel them fast and brutal, it just made us feel eachothers emotions as well.”

Harry nods, keeping his head nestled in the vampires chest as he listens to that souther drawl. His own arm wraps around the mans waist, his other hand gripping the fabric of the shirt right before his face. He turns his head just slightly to look up at that face stained black, immaculate with that one glaring blemish. No red rimmed eyes and blotchy spots like Harry’s own face carried. Harry's hand loosens it's hold on that gray fabric before reaching up and smudging some of that black. Jaspers hand slowly wraps around harry's wrist.

“Careful, darlin, I don't want you to transform on me, now.”

Do it Master, do it, it will not harm you.

Harry stares into those now amber eyes, so very different from the pitch black of earlier, and he grins. Looking at those tears agin before schooching up, bringing his face closer to the vampire's. He looks at the streaks on the mans cheeks once more before mischief spreads up and down his body, through his veins. Jasper stiffens beside him and doesn't react in time to stop harry as his face leans down and he licks a long strip of that beautiful, perfect face. His tongue runs up from the very bottom of his chin all the way up to directly beneath his eye, brushing those long lashes as he pulls away with a grin the marauders would be proud of.

His mouth moves up to the man’s ear, his lips brushing his skin as he whispers, “just returning the favor.”

Jasper spins them, pinning Harry to the ground roughly, growling as his eyes bleed black again. The man gulps, searching Harry’s face wildly, watching him for a long moment.

“You're not turning,” his expression is puzzled as he looks down at Harry, “you should be turning by now!”

Jaspers eyes dart across Harry's face swiftly, casting glances down at the rest of his body before looking back to his face.

Harry smirks up at the man holding him down, “what, I can't have my own secrets, now?”

Jasper gulps, looking down at him in awe, “you're not turning, you can't be turned.”

He is right, Master, you are mine. You can only be one kind of immortal, my kind.

Harry smiles, a bit flirtatiously as he runs his eyes up and down that sculpted body of the soldier above his prone body, “want to test that theory?”

Jasper jumps up and away from him, staring at him in horror as Harry laughs, “that may not have turned you but you cant go around having vampires biting you harry! The venom will still burn you alive! Doesn't your throat hurt?”

Harry hums, “nope! Is it supposed to?”

Jasper gapes at him, “it doesn't even hurt? How is that possible?”

Harry shrugs, “no clue.”

Jasper blinks down at the wizard still laying on the grass, “you don't know?”

“Nope! Like I said, do you wanna test it all out? I'm immune to turning so we can see what may or may not hurt me. It could be useful if I ever have to fight a vampire after all.”

“I'm not biting you for fun Harry!”

Harry scoffs and rolls his eyes, a small smile on his lips, “I never said you'd bite me, and it's not for fun either Jasper, call it science, an experiment if you will.”

Jasper gulps, slowly sitting back down in front of the other man, “you're sure you're immune?”

Harry nods, “one hundred percent.”

Jasper nods staring at the wizard long and hard for a moment before finally allowing the venom to gather in his mouth, he cups a hand beneath a chin and allows it to slowly flow from between his parted lips only to pool within his hand. He stares at harry with two streaks of black coming from the corners of his lips before gulping down the rest of the venom and gesturing towards the small bit within his palm.

“Well?”

Harry shrugs, leaning down to lick the palm quicky, sitting back up at the venom coats his tongue. He gulps it down and shudders, it was delicious, it was ambrosia. Jasper states at him, his eyes wide, no doubt feeling his emotions as they well up within him. Awe, hunger, desire

The man looks down at his stained hand in confusion, “how in the hell are you feeling bliss after drinking venom? You should he screaming out in horror and pain!”

Harry hums, his eyes closing against his violation as he leans towards that voice. His cock hardening within his jeans as he listens to that stunning southern drawl. Jasper growls and picks him up swiftly, holding him gently as the man curls up even further into him and gently fingers patterns into his skin and clothing as he stares up at Jaspers face in awe. The vampire rolls his eyes and runs, rushing to the cabin he had bought when they had moved to Forks. He always bought another property, simply for if things went south or he simply needed a break for the family. He rarely used them, but today, his habit would come in handy. He sighs as he opens the door, swiftly moving Harry up the stairs and into the only bedroom within the tiny cabin.

“Stay here. Sleep it off. Take a bath. Do something. But whatever you do, do not leave this cabin,” his eyes narrow and he snarls, leaning into Harry's face as he says those final words, “or else.”

The door shuts behind him and Harry shudders at the warning, the threat, the challenge.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He bathes, taking his sweet old time as he does so, the effects dimming slightly once he had taken care of himself. He sighs as he pulls on his clothing once more, exiting the room before looking towards the window beside his bed. Jasper would soon learn to never give him orders, he would simply to the opposite of whatever the man said. He smirks as he opens the window with bang, not caring for sublty, the man would hear it no matter what. A growl sounds from downstairs and Harry grins, let the chase begin.
He jumps out of the window, sprinting to the edge of the forest just as a wild, feral looking Jasper rushes out of the back door, slamming it open so harshly it rips from the wall, hinges swinging. His eyes are wild and black, blacker than Harry had ever seen them, his grin grows.
He turns back around and runs, runs for his very life as the vampire swiftly catches up. Just as a hand reaches for him, he disappears, apparating to the other side of the clearing. Disappearing a second later to another spot just before Jasper reaches him once more. On and on it goes, cat and mouse, predator and prey. Harry laughing madly all the while as he evades Jasper over and over again, sweat glistening on his body from the strain.
He stares at the blur approaching him and stays still, refusing to move as the vampire slams into him. His breath leaves him harshly, winding him as he hits the floor, his wards and charms keeping him from collapsing form the strain. He stares up at the now completely feral man, no hint of Jasper anywhere, just the vampire, the creature side. He grins licking his lips as he meets those eyes so very different from Jaspers.
“Well hello there, Major, nice to finally meet you.”
The snarl that rips out form the creature above him sends shivers running down his spin. This this was the man, the creature, that he had been terrified of for years. But now? Now he simply looks at the Major calmly, not a speck of fear within him as he meets those terrifying eyes.
“You haven't been let out of your cage in quite some time, have you?”
Another snarl, as if the man, the creature did not know how to speak. Harry simply smiles in response.
“Did you enjoy the chase, Major? I had hoped it would let you out, let me meet you finally.”
Those eyes clear slightly, staring down at harry with possessiveness, cruel evil possessiveness, and the vampire grins selfishly as he rakes his eyes up and down the other man’s body.
“I would’ve rather had is end more pleasurably, but I'll take what I can get, Darlin.”
Harry shudders, eyes rolling back into his skull as he hears that southern drawl, far more pronounced than Japser's. He sighs shakily, it was more of a growl than anything. Each and every word forced out of that mouth, around those inch long cnaines, deep and reverbrating. That long tongue runs along his teeth, those fangs as the Major stares at Harry hungrily. Those eyes clear even more the longer they stare at one another.
The Major grins at him once more, all cruel and hard edges as he says, “I'll take you hard and fast, fuck you into this forest floor once I catch you. Force that mischievous grin into the dirt as I pound into you from behind. Youre mine, darlin, mine. We own you, and the next time Jasper lets me out, I'll show you just how much I own you, and just how much you'll enjoy that ownership.”
Harry’s breathing is fast and shallow as he stares up at the slowly fading visage of the Major, his face as red as blood as Jasper slowly comes back into being. Their eyes meet, emerald and amber clashing as they stare at one another hungrily.
“Back inside, now.”
Harry shudders at the command, gulping harshly as the man stands and doesn't even offer to help him up.
“If you're not inside in the next five minutes I'll let the Major back out to play with you, and you know he will not be gentle.”
Harry whimpers, tempted to stay there, still and pliant for the Major once he returns, but Jasper snarls, low and harsh at him. Harry stares up at the canopy of trees before finally meeting those amber eyes once more. He slowly gathers himself, standing and slowly making his way back to the cabin. Those eyes peirce into him as he walks, staging into his back, watching his everymove as he enters, going straight to his room. He groans as he flops onto the bed, utterly exhausted. His eyes close and he's asleep before his head even hits the pillow.
Chapter 7
Notes:
Well, even with school all day today, I still got a chapter out for you all! Lol hope you enjoy! 😘
Chapter Text
The next morning he can’t even look at Jasper without blushing. What was he thinking? Taunting the man like that, challenging him, forcing the Major out? It was like he had gone insane!
Jasper sighs as he looks over at Harry as he sits across from the man at the dining table.
“It was your fault, vampire venom is an aphrodisiac to you.”
Harry looks up at the man in confusion, “aphro-what’s-it?”
Jasper smiles slightly, amused at Harry’s obvious confusion, “aphrodisiac, meaning similar to a drug. More specifically a lust drug. My venom made you become so lustful it lowered you inhibitions and caused you to act out for any pleasurable attention you could get from the nearest person to you,” the man sighs and gulps, “just be glad that person was me, not many others would have been able to deny you.”
Harry stares at the man in horror, a lust drug? Like a love potion? He shudders. Then he blinks at the man.
“Why wouldn’t others have denied me?”
Jasper looks at him in bewilderment before rolling his eyes and slumping in his seat, “you are so oblivious. Harry, half the population of Forks would jump at the chance to be with you. And those wolves you spend so much time with? They would have smelt you, just as I did, just as Major did. I have the control of a one hundred and sixty year old vampire. Those wolves? They’ve only been wolves for a year, if that, do you really think they’d have enough control to stop themselves from taking something that wanted them in the moment? Especially something that smelt, as glorious as you had under the influence of my venom?”
Harry stares at the man with wide eyes, mouth open slightly.
The man continues, “you are lucky that it was me. Even I struggled to control myself, Major struggled to control himself. I know without a doubt anyone who had stumbled upon you would have fallen into your thrall. The only ones that wouldn’t have are the mated vampires around here. Everyone else? They would have done whatever they had pleased. I almost gave into the want, the need. It filled my entire being, but I didn’t give in, Harry. Simply because I know you, I have felt your emotions so strongly they have become a part of myself. I know the second that drug left your system you would have been heartbroken, betrayed, disgusted, guilty, and whatever else that mind of yours could come up with. So I controlled myself, Major controlled himself.”
Harry’s eyes tear up at that admission, staring at the man with shock and awe. How could he have thought this man was a monster? He had forced all of his will into leaving Harry unharmed, even when Harry had wanted it.
He had refused to touch him whilst he was under the influence. Tried to make sure Harry didn’t come into contact with another being before the drug left his system. Those feelings came back full force, that awe, the wonder, the trust. Jasper had proven himself again and again, showing Harry just how different of a man he was. Showing him just how much he had changed since the southern wars. He gulps, even Major had changed.
The Major of the stories would have raped and then slaughtered him then and there. Yet he had simply snarled at Harry, threatened him, held him tightly, possessively. His eyes roave down the man, Jasper and Major were different sides of the same coin. Both violent and possessive, both powerful and cruel. But one was softer, kinder than the other. Whilst Major, he was the ruthless one, the one that didn’t care what he had to do, he would do it. But even he had hesitated at the thought of hurting Harry.
He smiles at the other man, “so I take it that means no more experimenting with vampire venom, right?”
Jasper tilts his head back and laughs loudly, Harry grins at the sight. His tight muscles loosen and relax as things go back to normal. Or perhaps, better than normal, he had never been so calm and peaceful near the other man before. Now? Now he trusted the man, wholeheartedly. It was truly a wonderful feeling.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Prom was coming up, Harry smiles brightly and laughs as Jessica talks all about how Mike had finally asked her to the dance.

“Who are you going with, Harry?”

“Huh? Oh er…I’m not…well, I’m not going?”

They gape at him, shocked at his answer.

“What do you mean you’re not going to prom, Harry? You have to! What about,” Jessica leans in, Jasper, has he asked you yet?”

Harry sputters, “what? Jess, Jasper would never ask me to prom! Really, be realistic!”

They stare at him, shocked at his absolute naivety and obliviousness. Did he truly not see how the other man looked at him? Completely devoted and obsessed?

Jessica bites her lip and darts a glance towards the Cullens’ table, “Harry, you have got to be kidding me! That man is absolutely obsessed with you!”

Harry shakes his head in denial, biting his lip as the disappointment shoots up his spine at the cold hard truth that fills him.

“It could never happen, trust me, Jess. Jasper won’t ask me to prom, I know he won’t.”

Jasper was waiting for his mate, the other half of himself. Harry refused to get in the way, it would only hurt them both in the long run.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Major purrs deep within Jasper, watching Harry from across the cafeteria, the boy blushed so prettily. Jasper clenches his fist, hidden from view as he listens to Major’s thoughts, forcing himself to stay seated, not move. He stops breathing, refusing to give into that scent, the glorious, addicting scent. It was right in front of him, of them. He wanted it, needed it.
His nails bite into his diamond-like skin as he looks at Harry once more. Disappointment hit him, sudden and harsh, he frowns, why was he disappointed? No, no it wasn't Jasper, it was Harry. He shakes his head, still figuring out which emotions were his own versus those around him. He sifts through those emotions before finding Harry, filtering through the emotions swiftly, like skimming a book.
He tunes into the conversation right as it ends, his eyes widening ever so slightly as he realizes that disappointment was because of him. Harry was disappointed they would never be together, he grounds his teeth together as he feels a tug from the thought. Right in the center of his chest, where his unbeating heart lay, a tug began. Slowly jerking over and over, before coming faster and faster, as if emulating a heartbeat. Jasper stares at the wizard across the room, at Harry, and for the first time in his immortal life, he feels alive, as if his heart beats once more, in that shining, glowing presence of the other man.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jasper listens as Carlise explains how it felt to meet a mate once more to Edward, and this time, Jasper actually listens. His breathing comes quickly and shallowly as he hears more and more of that description. The tug becomes more insistent, pulling at him harshly, searching for Harry.

He rises so quickly from the dining table that his chair smashes into the other wall, splintering and cracking down the middle. The family stops, gaping at him in surprise. He had never reacted that way, he was always so calm.

He stares out into space, simply looking at the air before him. His thoughts whirl, one word repeating itself in two separate voices. His own, that posh draw with just a slight southern accent, and the other, more harsh voice thickly coated with that very same accent. Harry, Harry, Harry, Harry, Harry.

“Jasper, son, are you alright?”

“Harry,” Jasper gulps, looking at Carlisle, his vision clearing as he blinks, “Harry is my mate.”

Chapter Text

Jasper was staring at him, nonstop. It was getting odd. It had been going on for a week now, that everlasting staring. Every single moment Harry looked at the man he was already looking at him. Those amber eyes tracked him everywhere, hell, Harry had even seen the man at the grocery store yesterday! Following him, tracking him, stalking him. Really, it was getting excessive. Harry sighs as he goes back to eating his sandwich, if the man wanted to watch him so badly then there was nothing Harry could do to stop him. All he could do was deal with it and hope for an explanation at some point.

Jess giggles slightly and pokes his side with an elbow, pointing over at Jasper. Harry rolls his eyes before turning back to the man, only to gape. The man was snarling at Edward, almost rising from his seat as he hissed unknown words at the other man. Harry gulps, standing rapidly before moving closer, watching as Jasper slowly relaxed the closer Harry came to him. The tension melted off of the man the second Harry touched his shoulder, looking at Edward warily.

Whatever the mind reader had said ticked Jasper right off, to the point of almost showing the humans around them just what they were. Harry bites his lip and looks between the two men, perhaps he should find a necklace for Jasper as well? One that would protect his mind from Edward? One glance back at Edward, the mocking smile he sent to Jasper making up his mind. He nods to himself, backing away from the blond.

“I won't be back for the rest of class, I have something to do.”

Jasper whips his head around to look at him and before he can say anything, Harry interrupts with a smile.

“Don't ask, you'll find out once I'm back. I'll meet you at the place I had met Major, it'll only be a couple of hours at most, I promise.”

The blond nods with furrowed brows and Harry walks off without waiting for him to reply, he grabs his things and waves to his friends. Not giving any explanation as he leaves, all of them smirking and some even laughing as his quick departure.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gringotts in America was the same, except the people were more pleasant to the goblins, understanding that they were holding their money. The thing that allowed them to live their lives as they do. These Goblins were looked at with respect by the wixen of this country, for fear of having their lives taken away from them.
Harry bowed his head to the one he approached, “master goblin, I request entrance into an heirloom vault.”
“Key.”
Harry nods and hands it over, watching as the goblin inspected it before asking for another goblin.
“Sharptooth will escort you to your vault, Lord Potter.”
Harry nods before following the new goblin, entering the cart as another speeds by, those within screeching with wide smiles across their faces, adrenaline junkies. Harry follows suit, yelling out and laughing as they speed by vault after vault. Finally they jerk to a stop, his breath panting out of his as he smiles. His eyes scan the surroundings as the goblin takes his key and turns it within the lock. The door opens and he sighs, staring at his family's history within.
He smiles and thanks the goblin quietly before entering, going right to the enchanted jewelry. He examines each and everyone quickly and efficiently, looking at the charms as well as the style of the pieces. Most are too feminine, but finally he finds one, a simple chain with a shrunken potion vial hanging from it. Harry smiles down at it, the vial was empty, but Harry knew exactly what to fill it with. He grabs the necklace and exits the vault, thanking the goblin once more as they both enter the cart, zooming back up to the surface.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He apparates directly to the cabin, watching as Jasper rushes out of the door as if on fire. The man scans him, taking his time, as if looking for any damage. Harry rolls his eyes, its not like a trip to the bank would kill him, geez. He sighs and approaches the man with a small smile before holding up the necklace, the crystal vial shining in the sunlight. Jasper’s eyes catch on it, staring at it with confusion.

“A necklace, that's what you had to leave school for?”

Harry nods, “not just any necklace though, one that will protect the person wearing it from mind readers.”

Jasper simply stares at him, “but you already have one that does that,” the man points to the one hanging on Harry's neck.

His eyes roll dramatically, “it's not for me! It's for you!”

The man gapes at him, looking back down at the necklace in awe, “me? Why?”

Harry scoffs, “whatever Edward said to you earlier really pissed you right off, and it was obvious he had read your mind to mock you.”

Jasper clenches his jaw as he remembers the conversation, nodding, he reposend, “but that doesn't explain why you're giving me this.”

Harry shrugs, blushing slightly, “I care about you, and someone reading your mind without your consent is something that you should never have to deal with. Especially when that person abuses their power and uses it to mock you.”

“Someone did that to you.”

It wasn't a question, they both knew that. Jasper could feel the truth of it within Harry’s emotions, but still, Harry nodded in response.

“Thank you, truly, thank you, Harry. The worst part about living with the Cullen’s all those years was Edward. His mocking, those grimaces when he read my mind before I could block him, and the utter exhaustion after shielding from him for hours on end every single day. You don't know what this means to me.”

Harry smiles at the man, handing him the necklace in answer. The man grasps it gently, holding it up to the light as the tiny miniscule vial twinkles merrily. His brows furrow, staring at the little thing, confused at the choice of pendant.

Harry explains before the blond can even ask, “it's a vial, shrunken of course.”

Jasper nods, looking at the tiny thing even closer, “what’s inside of it?”

Harry blushes and bites his lip, “blood.”

Jasper’s head whips up, staring at Harry in horror, “what?”

The brunette shrugs, “you struggle with your control, mainly because you’re surrounded by the thirst of six other vampires day in and day out. Especially ones living off of the vegetarian diet. So whenever you’re struggling with your thirst just run your finger along the symbol on the rim and it'll un-shrink itself. Then you can drink the blood inside without losing your control.”

Jasper stares at him with an open mouth, speechless as he glances back at the vial hanging from the necklace.

“Anytime you drink it I can replace the blood, so don't hold back, anytime you need it, just drink from it.”

Jasper nods, tears as black as night welling up in his eyes as he looks back at the wizard before him.

Thank you, Harry.”

Harry nods, smiling again, this time a bit mischievously, “it also has a glamor. It's just a spell that will make sure your eyes always look their normal amber to everyone around you, excluding us, since we know of it already. So even when they turn black they'll still look their normal color.”

Those tears spill over, Jasper looks between Harry and the necklace in awe. His mate, his mate, did all of this for him, even without knowing they were mates. He lunges at the other man, holding him tight as he hugs him as hard as he is able to without hurting the man.

Harry smiles as he returns the embrace, sinking into that cold hard body as easily as if it was the most cozy plush mattress in the entire world. He hums in delight as he nuzzles into that large chest. Jasper holds him tightly, not letting go, even as they stand there for minutes, perhaps an hour, simply holding each other. Finally, Jasper slowly lets go, holding him at arm's length as he looks down at the man. He runs a finger down that pale cheek gently, smiling down at Harry happily.

“Thank you, darlin.”

Harry beams up at the man, wanting to snuggle into his body once more at the praise. Jasper's smile widens at the emotions that hit him.

“Go home, I'll see you tomorrow, I promise, darlin.”

Harry nods and sighs sadly, “tomorrow,” he echoes, turning on his heel.

The pop of his apparition echoes throughout the yard, Jasper stares at the empty spot that had held Harry just moments before with a longing smile upon his face. Harry looks at his bed before getting ready to sleep. He smiles at himself in the mirror as he washes his face. Jasper deserved that necklace, the privacy Edward took from him, the comfort of having blood at hand.

He smiles slightly with a little blush as he looks down at the pale scar running along his wrist. What Harry hadn’t mentioned was that it was his blood within that vial.

Chapter Text

The thirst, he gulps, it had increased tenfold once Harry had given him that vial. Just the knowledge that blood was hanging around his throat made him notice the other’s thirst more than usual, notice his own. How theirs affected him. It was truly some terrible form of torture. How had he survived? He fiddles with the vial. No, not yet, he would hunt first. Use the vial at that bleak school, when he would actually need it.

Harry may be able to refill it whenever he needed him to, but he wouldn’t have time to see the man before the school day tomorrow, especially since the brunette lived on the reservation with his family. Jasper sighs, letting the vial drop back onto his chest. Edward had yet to notice his shielded mind, too busy with Bella on a date. Jasper knew if the other man was there along with the human he would have snapped, drank that blood down before he could even second think it. He stands from his large chair within his room, more of an office than a bedroom with a large ornate desk and shelves upon shelves of books. He walks towards the window and opens it with a sigh, looking back into the room before jumping out, he needed to hunt, and soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jasper grits his teeth as he follows his family into the cafeteria, the thirst threatening to devour him whole. Edward’s thirst surrounding him, enveloping him, becoming him. He darts a glance towards Harry and sighs a bit as he sees the man happily chatting with his small group of friends. Jasper sits on the very edge of the plastic seat, ready to jump and run away at a moment's notice.
Alice frowns at him in concern, “are you alright, Jaz?”
Jasper nods sharply, “I'm fine, just thirsty.”
“You hunted just last night!”
The blond gulps and nods once again. He had, but it did nothing against the other’s thirst. He still felt every inch of it. Even when they all hunted at the same time he felt that hunger, none of them satisfied by the animal blood they lived off of. Refusing human blood had become the most difficult thing he had ever had to do, it went against every single part of him. His head drops into his hands as he groans almost silently, Edward’s hunger kicking up a notch as he catches a whiff of Bella’s scent. He jumps and whirls around when a hand lands on his shoulder, almost attacking the person before realizing who it was.
“Harry,” he sighs out.
The brunette frowns at him worriedly, “come with me.”
Jasper gulps, standing quickly and following the other man out of the room quickly, glad to be away from his family. They make their way to the forest, now becoming their go to place for these conversations. Harry whirls on him the second they enter the tree line.
“Why haven't you used it? You look like you’re about to explode any minute! You look like you’re in agony, Jasper!”
Jasper groans, falling down to sit on the grass, leaning against a tree, “I didn't want to waste it. I know you can refill it but only if you know if i need more! I can't go onto the reservation, Harry.”
The man glares, “I'll give you the house’s phone number! Drink it!”
Jasper sighs, looking down at the vial as he lifts it away from his chest. He bites his lip, gently caressing the symbol on it, watching in awe as it grew to the size of his palm. His tongue darts out from between his lips to lick them as he stares at that shining red liquid within the vial. It looked as if it glittered with some unknown substance, it must be the crystal vial I was held in. He grasps the cork and pops it open, his eyes widening as he sniffs it, his head jerks up to look at Harry.
“This isn't animal blood.”
“No, it's not.”
Jasper's eyes narrow, “whose blood is it?”
Harry gulps, staring straight into those amber eyes as he answers, “mine.”
Jasper jumps up, careful not to spill a single drop, “what! You gave me your blood, Harry? What if I snap after I drink it and kill you?”
Harry shrugs, “I'll live.”
“Not if you die, not if I kill you!”
Harry smirks at him, amused, “oh trust me, Jasper, even if you snap my neck and tear my body into pieces, I'll still live.”
Jasper stares at him in shock, Harry smiles again before continuing, “I have secrets of my own, Jasper. Just trust me when I say it is impossible for you to kill me.”
Jasper frowns, his narrowed eyes staring into those green ones before he nods, looking back at the glittering blood in trepidation. It had been years since he had tasted human blood. Venom pools within his mouth and he gulps it down rapidly, barely able to keep up with the amount he produces as he inhales deeply, his eyes rolling into the back of his skull at the sweet smell of that blood. He swirls it around in that vial, meeting those brilliant emerald eyes before gulping it down. His legs weaken and he groans, falling to his knees harshly, his palms curl into the grass.
“Jasper!”
He looks up at the brunette before him in awe, the brilliant green, blue, and purple colors surrounding him swirling rapidly in concern. His mouth drops open as he watches those amazing colors curl around him, concern, fear, care. They hit him with force, those colors wrapping around him. Harry’s emotions. They were magnificent, confusion filled him, that green color vibrating as it curled around harry. Jasper smiled up at him in awe, wonder, as he saw those colors for the very first time, the aura. Harry looks at him, face full of bewilderment as the blond continues to look up at the wizard above him, simply staring at those beautiful features surrounded by equally as beautiful colors.
“Jasper?”
Those whispered words reach his ears and his smile broadens, “you’re beautiful, Harry, absolutely gorgeous.”
Those brilliant green eyes widen, that color the very same as that vibrant green surrounding the man.
“Oh dear Merlin, is my blood an aphrodisiac for you?”
Jasper laughs, amusement bubbling up from the very depths of him, his eyes catch the faintest sight of a baby blue color by his side before it vanishes.
“No, no, it's not. It's something even better, Harry.”
The man simply stares at that wide smile, those eyes bright with emotions Harry had never seen on the blond’s face before. Jasper opens his arms towards Harry, gesturing for him to sit next to him, he turns as Harry does so in confusion. Staring at those colors closely as they shifted, swirled, and vibrated around the man,  darting out to curl around Jasper in concern and confusion. His smile widens, his eyes glazing as they brush against him. He inhales sharply and shivers, those emotions hitting him soul deep. He groans again, cock even harder in his pants than it had been when he had first tasted that ambrosia. His eyelids flutter back open, meeting Harry’s own concerned ones as he leans forward.
“Did you know your aura is a mixture of greens, blues, and purples?”
Harry inhales, staring at Jasper in utter shock, “you can see auras?”
Jasper shakes his head in denial, looking at those colors once more, completely enchanted by them.
“Not before today. Your blood, your blood let me see them. The auras are all around us, Harry. They surround us entirely. The trees, the grass, the dirt, the very earth, every single bit of it has an aura, but yours, yours,” Jasper sighs looking at those addicting colors, “they are the brightest, the most glorious. I could stare at them all day for the rest of my immortal eternity without getting bored.”
Harry’s mouth drops open, staring at Jasper as the blond merely stares back. No, no, no, no, no. Jasper has a mate, out there, waiting for him, maybe not even born yet. He shudders, the pain filling him at the thought, the utter agony. The vampire leans in closer to Harry, those now ruby red eyes staring at him in bliss. A hand cups his head gently, that perfect face coming even closer. Tears well in his eyes, it couldn't happen, not when Jasper had a mate. He shudders at the cool touch as that large, strong hand cups his head, another reaching up to caress his cheek. That blond hair shimmers in the sunlight, those red eyes shine, the smile upon that face is blinding as Jasper whispers those words.
“It's you, Harry. You’re my mate, my one and only. My other half. You are my soulmate, Harry. And I will be by your side for as long as you’ll let me, even if that turns out to only be a day, or all of eternity. I will be there, my mate, my soul.”
Those tears fall, his eyes closing as that mouth covers his own in a gentle caress.
Chapter 10
Chapter Text
They spun on the dance floor, trailing and twining around one another as Harry’s friends smiled in victory. They knew it would happen eventually, those two just had to figure it out for themselves. Jasper had seemed so light and happy the past month. Everyone had noticed. All chalking it up to the brunette he smiled down at with that bright enchanting smile of his. But the couple knew better, yes it had been all because of Harry. But that blood had changed Jasper's immoral life.
He no longer felt that thirst. Even from the others, their thirst didn’t even reach him now that he drank what he was supposed to. Harry’s blood tasted exquisite, like the blood of a god. The magic within the blood sparked and sang every time he drank it. It was even better than human blood. It filled him for even longer with so very little, and the taste.
Jasper clings to Harry as they dance together, holding onto him as he remembers just how much his life had changed because of this small man in front of him. Harry giggles as he stares up at those shining red eyes, so very different from the amber of before, yet so much better
“Your eyes suit you like this.”
Jasper smiles down at him, kissing those lips softly, gently as he responds, “they do, thank you, Harry.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bella’s birthday was coming up. Everyone continued to talk about it. It was still months away. Harry rolls his eyes everytime the conversation was brought up, emulating Rosalie. He leans into Jasper as the family begins speaking of the party and what they could do for it, ignoring Bella’s protests for something small. Jasper blinks beside him and looks down at the brunette.

“Your birthday. None of us ever asked when it was.”

Harry looks up at Jasper and nods, “you haven’t.”

Jasper continues looking at him, waiting for further information before scowling slightly.

“Harry. When is your birthday?”

The other man bites his lip, the Cullen’s falling silent around him as he blushes slightly.

“July 31st.”

Jasper's eyes widen, Alice gasps loudly, they all stare at him.

“That’s in a week, darlin! Why didn’t you say anything?”

Harry shrugs, “I asked to spend the day with you and you said yes, that’s all that mattered.”

Jasper sighs, nuzzling Harry’s neck gently.

“We have to plan something!” Alice objects.

Harry’s emotions sour, “I won’t show up. I want to spend the day with Jasper, nothing else.”

They all stare at him in shock, “you wouldn’t show up?”

Harry stares at Alice as he responds, “no, I wouldn’t.”

“But Harry! It’s your birthday you-“

Harry interrupts her, “exactly, which means I get to do what I want to do, not what everyone else wants to do. I want to spend the day with Jasper, no one else. End of discussion.”

He stares hard at all of them, Jasper squeezes his shoulders slightly. No one else says anything, going right back to planning Bella’s party. Harry sighs, falling into Jasper's form in relief. The man squeezes him once more before untangling them. Jasper stands and holds a hand out for Harry to take silently. He does, smiling at the blond as he squeezes that smaller hand in his own. They leave the others to their planning as they leave the house, walking into the forest, their forest.

Harry sighs as jasper sits against a tree trunk, smiling a bit mischievously as he plops down on the man’s lap, the blond letting out a shock noise in response. Harry laughs, leaning into that chest. Jasper sighs, wrapping his toned arms around Harry's torso.

“Why didn't you tell anyone about your birthday?” The question is soft, careful as Jasper asks it.

“No one asked. And my birthday had never really been anything good or even big. The first fourteen years of my life my birthday went by unnoticed. Then when I went to Hogwarts it was overlooked by whatever that year’s traumatic event was. I've never had a birthday party, I don't want one. Maybe in the future when everything is less raw, but right now? I can't, Jasper, I just can’t.”

Those arms squeeze comfortingly, that face nuzzles further into his neck and he relaxes further.

“What do you want to do?”

Harry shrugs, “I don't care, as long as it's with you.”

Jasper hums, settling a gentle kiss along the back of his neck, “I’ll plan something small, then.”

Harry smiles, “thank you,” he whispers.

Jasper pulls him back farther, kissing his cheek as he does so, “of course, darlin.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harry stares in awe at the sight before him, an amusement park. His eyes meet those red ones as his own fill with tears.
“Thank you, thank you. I've never been to an amusement park before.”
Jasper nods, clenching his teeth at the emotions pouring from the man. 18 years old and he has never even been to an amusement park. He sets a hand on Harry's lower back, steering him towards the gates, he would find those sick twisted people, and they would regret the day they set sights on Harry. A sigh leaves him, pushing the tension out and away, he smiles down at Harry, gesturing towards the park before them.
“What's first?”
“Which one’s the biggest?”
Jasper laughs, falling into line behind another couple, “you're an adrenaline junkie?”
Harry grins at him, “you saw me at the baseball game, what do you think?”
Jasper grins back, remembering the broom he had ridden to keep up, the broom that had easily gone over 100 miles per hour. He points to the tallest ride peeking out from behind the gates.
“That one, then we'll go down the line, biggest to smallest. How's that sound?”
Harry nods with a bright smile in response, before biting his lip, “can we, could we maybe get cotton candy too? And a snow cone?”
Jasper’s heart breaks at the simple question, the question he thought would be denied. He leans down to press a chast kiss to those sweet lips.
“Anything you want, Harry, anything at all, you will have.”
Harry’s face lights up, his eyes shining, “can you win me a stuffed animal?”
Such a small, innocent request, Jasper smiles down at Harry softly, “anything you want, just tell me and I'll do it, alright darlin?”
Harry nods excitedly as he beams up at Jasper, bouncing in joy as they come up to the entrance. Jasper quickly pays for the most expensive package, not telling Harry of course. He wraps the bracelet around that small wrist and kisses the back of his hand.
“Ready?”
Harry nods, pulling Jasper off in the direction of the tallest rollercoaster he could see, Jasper just laughs, letting the man pull him wherever he wants. He smirks when they reach the line, finally taking the lead as he grasps Harry gently, moving him away and past the line.
“But jasper! The line is right there!”
Jasper smirks down at Harry, “just watch Harry.”
They pass the line, walking right up to another, much smaller line. Harry frowns in confusion, watching and those people get the first choice of seats before the larger line is let in for the ride. looking at again, he watches as the man smirks at him, tapping the bracelet on his wrist.
 “Ths lets you skip the line, we'll be on the next one.”
Harry gapes at him, looking down at his wrist in awe, “why don't more people have these?”
Jasper grimaces, “because of how expensive they are.”
Harrier whirls on him, “what? Jasper, you didn't have to do that!”
The man smiles and shrugs, “it's done now, not much you can do about it.”
Harry blushes brightly, biting his lip and smiling shyly up at Jasper, “thank you.”
The blond merely nods with a gentle smile, “of course.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ten rides. They had gone on ten rides. Harry’s eyes wander to the games, to the prizes. Jasper grins, squeezing his hand as he takes the lead, moving towards the game section.

“Choose one, any of them.”

Harry grins, pointing at a small balloon popping stand, bouncing on his heels.

Jasper laughs, tugging him towards it, “is there a prize you want for that one?”

Harry shakes his head, “‘I want to play! I never got to but Dudley always talked about how much he loved it and how much fun it was!”

“Dudley?”

“My cousin. He was mean when he was younger but he really grew up and matured as he got older.”

Jasper nods clenching his teeth before forcibly relaxing them, smiling down at Harry once more.

“Ten shots please.”

The attendant nods, taking the money in exchange for the ten darts he sets before them.

“Well then, Harry, show me what you got.”

That smile widens, shining as bright as the sun as Harry picks a dart up. Aiming, he frowns as he concentrates, pulling back his arm, he lets the dart go. Eyes lighting up as he hits a bright red one. He turns, looking at Jasper in pure joy.

“Jas! Did you see it? Did you see that? I hit it!”

Jasper smiles widely at his excitement, “I did,” he grasps the man by his waist and tugs him forward, kissing him soundly on the mouth, “do it again, I know you can.”

Harry smiles, eyes glazed slightly as he turns back around. More and more darts fly at those balloons, each and every one of them hitting and popping one soundly.

The attendant's eyebrows fly into his hairline as he watches, Harry bounces up and down as the last dart hits a balloon.

“I did it jas! I did it! I popped them all! That was so much fun!”

Jasper laughs, “it looked like it. Why don't you ask what prize you get for that?”

Harry's mouth drops open, “I get a prize for that?”

Jasper smiles softly, even the attendant softens as he looks at the astonished man, “you do, now why don't you ask the gentleman what you get.”

Harry smiles once more, bouncing up to the man as he asks.

“Whatever you want, kid, anything from this stand you want, you can have.”

Harry gapes at the man and Jasper smiles at the man gratefully, the attendant simply ducks his head in return. Harry whirls around to Jasper in excitement.

“I don't know what one to get!”

“It's up to you Harry,” he comes up behind the man and points to a few different options, “there's that huge unicorn up there, the small lion, the lizard, any of them. You get to choose from any of them at all.”

Harry bites his lip, his eyes darting back to one of the prizes Jasper hadn't even looked at. He smiles slightly, pointing to it.

“I want that one!”

Jasper and the attendant both look at him in shock, “that one?”

Harry nods in confirmation and Jasper looks at the attendant with a small smile. The man just grins and shakes his head, grabbing the tiny little dragon and holding it out for Harry. The brunette hugs it to his chest, looking down at it in awe.

“I've never had a stuffed animal before! Dudley had so many, but aunt Petunia and uncle Vernon never gave me any.”

Jasper gulps, “well we’ll make up for that today, then. We’ll win so many prizes we’ll have to make trips to the car to put them all away.”

Harry giggles slightly, waving to the now frowning attendant in goodbye. Jasper and the man trade looks, Jasper nods once more at the man before following Harry to the next stand, determined to leave with more stuffed animals than he could carry.

“Why the dragon?”

Harry looks up at Jasper before turning the dragon's face towards him, “he has your eyes! See?”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A racoon, a tiny snail, a cute little fluffy cow, a large bear, an axolotl, an elephant, a cat, and a moose later, Jasper’s arms were filled with bags of stuffed animals. Harry looks at the other man in concern before waving to him, gesturing behind a stand. Jasper’s eyebrows furrow in confusion even as he follows the other man. He watches in shock as the man shrinks all of the prizes down before handing them back, small enough to fit in Jasper's pocket.
“There! Now we can still have fun without you being weighed down by all those stuffed animals!”
Jasper nods with a grin, “but what will everyone think when they suddenly disappear?”
Harry waves a hand dismissively, “I put a notice me not charm on us. It's exactly what it sounds like, no one will notice the difference. Now come on! I want to try cotton candy!”
"And a snowcone?” Jasper asks with a small smile.
Harry beams, “yes! And a snow cone!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Harry stares out at the lit up park in awe, far above it all, he watches as those same rides they had been on earlier rise and fall, the people on them screaming in terror or joy. He smiles, leaning into Jasper as the Ferris wheel comes to a stop at the very top, with them staring down at the park.

“Did you have fun?”

Harry sighs, looking up at those red eyes as he smiles, “I did, thank you, Jasper. Thank you so much. This was the best birthday I've ever had, the best birthday I could have ever asked for.”

Jasper hugs him tightly, “you're welcome, Harry. I will always do my best to make you happy. And next year your birthday will be even better, and the year after that. I'll make it my mission in life to make sure every single birthday you have gets better and better.”

Harry smiles giddily, “I'd love that jasper.”

Chapter Text

The birthday party had finally arrived. After months of Alice going on and on about it, it was here. Harry sighs as he puts on his fancy button up and dress pants that Alice said he had to wear. He sighs as he finishes up, looking at himself in the mirror before he leaves. The pop of his apparition echoes as he appears before the Cullens house. He giggles and rolls his eyes as Jasper lands in front of him.

“Watching from your window again?”

The blond grins down at him, offering his arm to hold, “I’ve gotta have fun somehow.”

Harry links their arms together as they make their way up the steps. He squeezes a bicep as they walk inside to the living room. Jasper looks down at him with a smile that looks more like a grimace than anything. Harry responds in kind, following him to the couch, ready to deal with the afternoon together.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alice hands Bella the first present, bouncing on her heels in excitement. Harry stands beside Jasper near the back of the family, watching in boredom. Those small hands begin unwrapping the blue paper and a gasp erupts from her. Harry watches in horror as blood pools on her finger. Edward lunges, Jasper follows, a snarl upon his face as he goes straight towards her. Harry jumps in front of him, grunting as the blond hits him. He wraps his body around Jasper’s as apparates, anywhere, anywhere but here. The man snarls right before they disappear, those fangs sinking deep into his neck. Harry scowls, damn Edward and his damn thirst.
They appear in the forest, Jasper still attached to his neck, drinking deeply. Harry moans, the effects of his venom already hitting him. Jasper detaches himself, staring down at Harry in horror.
“Darlin…”
“It’s alright. You know I won’t turn. I’ll just get horny.”
Jasper continues to stare at him and Harry rolls his eyes, “don’t look at me like that! You know I’m fine. And we both know it’s Edward’s fault. Really, he should know better than to have his singer around every single moment! He’s lucky he hasn’t snapped an killed her yet!”
Jasper gapes at him, “singer?”
Harry nods, “she obviously isn’t his mate. Do you want to drain my blood every second you’re around me?”
Jasper's face fills with horror and Harry laughs.
“Exactly! You don’t! Revenge the thought terrifies you. I’m your mate, you could never even think of hurting me, but that’s all Edward thinks about doing to her!”
Jasper simply stares at him. Harry huffs in response. Then the blond replies.
“She’s his singer. That’s why it took me so long to feel the mating bond. I thought I was supposed to be feeling obsession, hunger, and need. Not calm, peace, and want.
Harry smiles slightly, touching that forearm gently, gasping as he does so. He stares down at his own hand in shock, pale, paler that it ever had been, it shakes as he lifts it to his face. Jasper stepping back in horror. He grabs the blond, watching as his arm moves at a speed he wouldn't have been able to comprehend just moments ago.
“Harry-”
The blond is interrupted by his phone, buzzing in his pocket. He grasps it, staring at the screen before looking back up at Harry.
“Do you feel okay?”
Harry's smile grows as he looks up at those red eyes, now able to see the shades of color hidden within, “yes, yes I do Jasper.”
The man nods, gulping harshly as he puts his phone away, pulling Harry towards himself before sitting on the ground, seating the other man on his lap.
“Tell me the second you don't feel good, alright?”
Harry hums in response, curling into the now oh so very warm embrace, “I still feel horny.”
Jasper chokes out a laugh in response, thinking back to the notification still on his phone.
He’s fine Major, just another side effect of your venom, it'll go away in a few hours. And get it over already and fuck him for god’s sake!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Edward wanted to leave, Edward wanted to leave. Jasper stands there in shock, staring at the man as he forces everyone to pack. He couldn't leave Harry, he couldn't, it was impossible.

“What are you waiting for, Jasper, start packing!”

The snarl that erupts from within him is not his own, his drawl thickens, voice deepening as he turns to look at Edward.

“What’d you just say to me, child?”

Edward stops in shock, staring at Jasper in surprise before his own glare forms on his face, “I am not a child.”

Major grins at him, showing every single one of his teeth, fangs included as he responds, “very well then, fledgling.”

Edward lunges, only to fall directly onto his back staring up at the ceiling in shock. He stares at Jasper, finally seeing the man.

“I can't read your mind.”

Major smirks in such an unholy manner that the man before him shrinks away, “just noticed that have ya? That little human really has made you pathetic, hasn’t she?”

Edward snarls at him, Major simply tilts his head back and laughs.

“You don't tell me what to do, fledgling. I do what I want, when I want to. And I'm not leaving my mate, even if you all leave me behind, I refuse to leave Harry.”

Edward growls deep in his throat, but the answering growl shuts him right up. Major stalks towards him, that deep dark growl echoing along the walls as he crouches near Edward.

“You will listen to me Edward, and listen well. I will not be leaving Forks, whether you want me to or not. Nothing you can do will make me leave. You are in no position to threaten me, Edward, or do you not remember who I am?”

Jaspers voice lowers to a whisper as he stalks forward, grinning down at Edward in cruel amusement.

“Jasper Whitlock, God of War, most feared vampire on earth? Have you forgotten those titles or simply think they mean nothing? Perhaps you should think back to all those times you had seen within my head, the horrors you had witnessed. How many years could you not look me in the eyes? How long did it take you to speak to me like a human rather than your death stalking you? You stuttered and scrambled away from me for a decade, Edward. Remember those times and remember why exactly, then threaten me, I dare you.”

Edward gulps, darting a glance around to see not a single Cullen on his side, “we’re leaving. With or without you. I’ll leave the choice up to you.”

Major grins as he stands, “good. Have fun wherever you end up then, I'll be here with Harry, my mate. After all, I am not so stupid as to confuse a singer for my soulmate.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bella had been lost within the forest for hours, Edward had left her there. Harry gulps, looking at that empty lunch table with his heart broken, shattered. The Cullens had left, Jasper had left. He stares at his food listlessly, unwilling to eat, unable to eat, not when Jasper abandoned him. Tears pool in his eyes and he stands, his friends watching him as he goes, quiet as they stare at his form with sadness, mourning for their friend.
His vision blurs as he leaves the cafeteria, the school, running out of the final door, booking it to the forest, their forest. A sob erupts form him, coming from deep within his chest as he collapses against a tree, the tree Jasper had cornered him against so very long ago. His tears flow freely as he sobs, Jasper had left him. He curls into himself tightly, how could he leave.
“Darlin.”
His head jerks up,  mouth dropping open as he stares at Jasper in shock, “but, I thought you left, you all-”
“Who told you that, darlin? I'll kill them for it, for hurting you.”
Harry gulps, it wasn't Jasper, no, it was Major.
“Major-”
“Tell me, darlin, who was it?”
Harry gulps, “Bella said you all left, and I didn't see you all day at school, so I thought-”
“Do you want me to kill her? I'll kill her for you. Just say the word darlin.”
Harry gapes at the man, “what? No! Don't kill her! I was in the wrong for assum-”
A long, low growl interrupts him, “keep talking, darling and I'll gag you,” the man grins ferally, gripping himself tightly, “you'll like the gag too, trust me, darlin.”
Harry blushes right red at the innuendo, or rather, the threat. The Major would gag Harry with himself, Harry knew it, the man didn't lie, or make idle threats. He gulps, staring up at the man with wide eyes, watching as Major crouches in front of him. A strong hand grips his chin ever so gently as he tilts his head to the side.
“You’re mine, darlin, mine. You’re never gettin rid of me. No matter what you do, how you do it, or who you do it to, you're mine, and you'll always be mine.”
Their lips meet then, fiercely as Major pushes him to the forest floor, covering Harry's prone body with his own. Gripping his head tightly within his hands, Major licks into his mouth, sucking on his bottom lip as he goes. Harry moans loudly, thrusting his hips into Major’s as his eyes roll into the back of his head.
The man laughs against his mouth, slowly detangling their tongues before pulling away, his breath caressing Harry as he stays close enough to resume their kiss as he says, “you are my life line, Harry. You allow Jasper and I to live. Without you, we would be merely surviving, miserable and in agony. I love you Harry, fully and purely, with all that I am. You are my soulmate Harry, my other half, and I will be by your side for all of eternity if you’ll have me.”
Harry cries then, those tears escaping his eyes once more as he smiles up at Jasper, “you’re my hope, Jasper, Major. Without you I'd just be going through the motions, without hope of one day being able to actually live. I love you. I’ll love you for all of eternity, forever and always Jasper, Major.”
Chapter 12
Notes:
Finally I got this chapter out lol! Yesterday was rough for me and I was suffering huge writers block. Hopefully it passes quickly. But here it is! It's pretty short but has a ton of plot development that you all may or may not like lol. 😘❤️🥰
Chapter Text
Jasper’s eyes narrow on the TV and Harry watches with curiosity, wondering just what had peeked the other man’s interest.
The blond scowls, “that red headed bitch is making an army.”
“Army?”
Jasper snarls, low and deep in his throat, “a newborn army, like Maria’s.”
Harry’s eyes widen and he gulps, a newborn army? In Washington? That was a sure way to get the Volturi’s attention and get the woman killed.
“Should we-”
“Not yet, I want to see what she does. Then we can contact the Volturi.”
Harry nods, watching the man’s eyes closely, more and more they had shifted towards black. They were blending, slowly but surely, getting darker and darker by the day. They had started bright bold ruby red, but now they were a shining dark maroon as black slowly mixed with red. Major and Jasper were both conscious, and both merging into one person. Harry smiles a bit sadly, he would miss them both, but he knew it was a sign of them finally healing after so many years. Finally able to be themselves and be free. Free from war, free from judgment, free to be themselves, himself. He sighs as he leans against the kitchen counter, they were healing, all of them, and they would become the men they were always meant to be, slowly but surely.
“What does my soul say?”
Harry tilts his head, looking at the colors surrounding Jasper, “you’re alive, and you will be for a very long time, longer than anyone I've ever seen other than myself.”
Jasper smiles at Harry, “will you tell me why you’ll live for so long?”
Harry sighs, “it's part of why I can see souls.”
Jasper nods, listening intently as the brunette explains.
“In the wizarding world there is a legend, three brothers, the Peverells, one of them was my ancestor. They had cheated Death, so death made them each an artifact of their choosing. The eldest chose a wand that could not be defeated. The second chose a stone that could resurrect whomever he wished. The third, my ancestor, asked for a cloak that would hide him from death until he was ready to greet the deity like an old friend. The legend goes that whoever reunites all three artifacts becomes the master of death. I was the one to do it. I hadn’t even meant to, and I mastered death. I will be immortal for as long as I wish, keeping death company and taking control of a small portion of their power.”
Jasper nods, simply looking over at the man, “have you found out all of your powers yet?”
Harry shakes his head with a low laugh, “no, only the souls.”
Jasper hums, “well then, lets get experimenting, no venom this time though.”
Harry laughs, long and loud in response.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jasper stares down at himself in awe, tears flowing freely from his face. He touches his skin, warm for the first time in long over a century. His gaze meets Harry's own wide eyes as the brunette stares at the man before him in awe. The man was otherworldly, even as a human. That tan skin, those hard muscles, broad shoulders, green eyes. His knees weaken as he looks at the wholly human Jasper Whitlock. Jasper holds a hand over his chest, feeling his heartbeat, blood running through his veins after years upon years of silence, of stillness.

“You can restore life.”

Harry nods, still staring at Jasper in awe, “you’re beautiful. As a vampire or human, you are absolutely stunning, Jasper.”

 Jasper sighs shakily, “as are you, darlin. Now give me some of that chocolate you always talk about before your spell ends, I want to taste it before going back.”

Harry smiles slightly rushing into the kitchen to fulfill that simple wish.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Cullen’s don't return, and Victoria continues making her army. More and more people go missing, more and more end up dead. Jasper scowls, eyes now entirely finished meddling together, a beautiful deep red with bright ruby red specks and midnight black spread through them  like the night sky.
“I'll call the Volturi.”
Harry tilts his head in curiosity, “what were you looking for in the first place?”
“A sign of the south. I wanted to make sure she was just your average vampire before we called them in. She's obviously poorly trained and has no southern experience. I'm sure the Volturi will enjoy destroying her army and killing her.”
Harry rolls his eyes with a small smile at the bloodthirsty grin that covers Jasper’s mouth, Major’s influence he was sure.
“Major gave you too much bloodthirst.”
Those eyes meet his own and that grin darkest, deepens as the man replies, “but darlin, I am Major.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The kings were indeed excited by the news of a newborn army in Washington, only for the fact that they would get to destroy it. The guard arrived within a week, coming in full force as they hunted Jasper and Harry down. Aro stops the second he meets those blood red eyes, choking on air as he stares at Jasper in horror. Jasper simply grins and ducks his head.

“King Aro.”

The entire guard stares then, recognizing that drawl for what it was, realizing just who had called them in. Harry grins at them all, amused at the fear these powerful vampires showed when faced with Jasper, with his mate.

“Jasper Whitlock,” Aro’s words are whispered, almost inaudible even by the vampires.

The king's eyes stray to Harry then, freezing once he sees the scar upon his forehead. The king gulps, glancing between the two men before him and his guard.

“And Harry Potter. How interesting that two of the most powerful men in the world meet and decide to team up.”

Harry smirks at the man, “mated, actually,” he tilts his head, showing off the scar along his neck that had been left from Jasper’s fangs.

Aro’s head whips in Marcus’ direction, the other man nodding in reply, confirming Harry’s words. The guard watch them closely, warily.

“This army, is it actually a rogue vampires or have you brought us here right into your snare so you can take the throne for yourself?”

Harry and Jasper laugh, “you can have your throne Aro, we just want to be left alone. That won’t happen if Victoria keeps making her army.”

Aro nods slowly, still wary of the two as he says, “very well then, you two will help then.”

Harry rolls his eyes, looking at Jasper in exasperation, “I told you, he'd say that.”

Jasper smirks, huffing a laugh as he replies, “so you did, darlin, so you did.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The guard settles into Forks quickly, quietly. Refusing to allow anyone to know they were present. They watch the army and the couple nearby equally, wary of both parties as they go about their information gathering. They track the redhead to an abandoned warehouse, sending a watch rotation throughout the week to find out just who and what they were dealing with. The twins take the most shifts, able to hide better than most, able to hide their scents from Alec’s gift and small enough not to be seen even by the keen eyes of newborns. Harry rolls his eyes as he walks to the kitchen, noticing the man, Demetri outside the window, simply watching. That man was persistent, Harry would give him that at least. Harry was rather glad he was being obvious about it too, Harry would be constantly on edge if not. He waves his wand at the window and smirks at the vampire as he jumps back at the clattering of the window falling open.
“If you’re going to just stand there and stare at me you might as well come inside for it, unless that’s against your orders?”
Demetetri stares at him in shock before numbly shaking his head.
Harry rolls his eyes before jerking his chin to beckon him inside, “you can talk to Major about battle plans and boring stuff then instead of staring at the paint peeling off of the siding of the house.”
“Major?” The man gulps.
Harry rolls his eyes, “Jasper and Major are the same exact person, more so now than ever. One of them can still show up more predominantly at times but they are inherently the same person. Major is harmless, until you are proven guilty, that is. So as long as you don’t touch me you should be fine.”
The man continues to stare at him and Harry huffs, “fine! Stay outside then! I won’t offer any kindness again!”
The vampire finally reacts, “no! No, I was just surprised. I'd be glad to talk to the Major.”
Harry rolls his eyes in exasperation, “it's just Major, or Jasper. You don’t need to make it seem like a title, he isn't that important, you’ll just add to his damn ego.”
The vampire looks at him again, wide eyed before gulping and making his way to their front door. Harry shakes his head as he goes to let him in. Damn vampires and their need to stress Harry out.
Chapter 13
Notes:
The battle with the newborns! ❤️
Chapter Text
They scout for the perfect spot to ambush the army. Harry stands among the vampires as they plan in their little cabin. None of them blink an eye, simply working with the wizard easily. Jasper leans against the wall nearest to him, watching everyone carefully. Ensuring his safety, even among allies, hesitant allies yes, but still allies.
“The wizard should stay behind.”
Harry stiffens, glaring at the man who had spoken, Felix. The large man was triple the size of Harry, yet that didn't slow Harry down one bit as he stares at the man.
“The wizard has a name,” his voice is soft, almost a whisper as his snarled words echoe throughout the now silent room.
The man grins down at him, scanning his body before he says, “and it matters, why? You'll be dead soon enough. Whether by being killed or natural causes, it doesn't matter, you're still human, still going to die within the next century.”
Harry looks at that fluttering soul, the colors that were bleak and slowing as they twined around the man protectively, trying to stay within the world for as long as possible, yet knowing the future far better than the man himself.
“I wouldn't speak if I were you, vampire. You won't be on this earth much longer,” his voice, so quiet before. Now boomed around them without any effort on his part, power dripped from his words as the truth echoed around him.
The vampires stop and stare looking back at Felix and gulping, the man himself had stumbled back, looking at Harry in horror. The smaller man's eyes had gone black, entirely black, no whites to be seen. His veins shown clearly against his deathly pale skin. Felix shudders as that power swirls around him, Death’s power.
“How do you know?”
Harry turns to Aro, smiling with amusement as he tells them the truth, plain and simple.
“I am not an ordinary wizard, Aro, king of the Volturi. I am Harry Potter, Master of Death.”
“Master of Me,” that low growl follows those words, guttural and low as those pitch black eyes narrow on the vampires around them, Major’s influence peeking out of Jasper.
Somehow those words freeze the vampires, the first title slipping by unnoticed. They stare between the two men, finally understanding the danger Harry poses to them all, to the entire world.
“The God of War, with a Master?”
Jasper grins at Caius, teeth on display for all to see as he answers, “he is my mate, I will do whatever he says whenever he wishes. If he tells me to slaughter this entire town I would do it, if he said to solve world hunger I would do it. Whatever Harry wants, he gets. And if he wants you all dead and for us to take the throne? Well, I'll simply have to make do. Not to mention he could beat any of you in a fight.”
A scoff escapes Felix and Harry tilts his head, laughing softly, “you don't believe him? You believe my mate to be a liar?”
Felix gulps, staring at Harry once more, glancing back at Jasper in fear.
“Look at me, not him,” the snarl erupts out of him, alive as it pours into the room.
His eyes meet red as they finally look away from Jasper, “I am the Master of Death, did you not hear me? I have mastered death itself, if you do not think me a threat then you are a fool. I will have you hanging by the rafters before you can blink, in a pyre before you can scream. Jasper is not the only deadly one here, Felix, perhaps you should hone your survival instincts and then perhaps you'll survive longer than the decade you have left.”
Silence surrounds them, no one moves as they stare at Harry and Felix. Glancing between the two in horror.
“Decade?” Demetri asks.
Harry nods sharply, “a decade, no longer. Your very soul knows it. If you do not change yourself and your life you will not live beyond that point. But do be careful, whatever you choose to do could shorten your life even further.”
Felix gulps looking at the tiny man in front of him, staring up at him with no sympathy whatsoever. He was going to die in a decade. He shudders, shaking his head and walking away, out of the cabin, far away from the others. He needed space, time. He was going to die without ever meeting his mate, without seeing the world. His pace picks up, sprinting at speeds incomprehensible to the human eye as he runs away. The Volturi turn back to Harry.
“Is he the only one?”
“Chelsea. She is the only other,” he tilts his head, “I'd say you have about two decades left.”
They look at her, horrified that two of their own would die so soon. A decade or two was nothing to them, the youngest being 300 years old. Their perception of time had changed drastically, ten years passing in the blink of an eye now. They exchange glances once more, taking in the man before them before nodding. They would do whatever it took to keep their own alive for as long as possible and if that meant working alongside Jasper Whitlock and Harry Potter, then they would do so.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They would split up, one team going in from the back, once from the front, and the final outside, catching any that ran. Harry would be on the first team, rushing in first along with Jasper and the twins. Their powers would incapacitate almost everyone within the warehouse instantly. They'd let the others play with some though, just to be kind. Harry sighs as he stands among them, waiting in silence for the signal. Jasper nods and Harry runs, his porcelain skin diamond hard and his speed allowing him to keep up easily. Jasper had bitten him just before they had come here, the Volturi looking at him in horror and fascination as they realized what had happened and that it was temporary. They had almost been delayed by all the questions but Harry had cut them all short and demanded they go before they lost their chance.

His feet pound against the cement as he becomes a blur, his hand shoves against the door, pushing it open roughly and letting his power free the second he enters the room. Those souls rush out of their body’s illuminating the dark room for him to see each individual clearly. Dozens of newborns stare back at him, perhaps even a hundred of them. His eyes go black and ten newborns fall before him. Shuddering and screaming as their souls rip themselves from their bodies, flying into Harry's grip before they twirl around him gently, finally soothed from their thirst, fear and, confusion.

Another ten fall, screaming in agony far too similar to the cruciatus curse for comfort. Harry grimaces a bit, remembering the times he had been under that spell. He shakes his head, now was not the time. His head turns a third group of ten fell, gasping out in horror as their sight is taken from them, their hearing, everything. All of their senses gone.

Finally Jasper’s group, they stand there, lost, confused, before they turn to each other and snarl. Harry’s breath catches as the ten vampires descend upon one another. Jasper doesn't even twitch as he watches the ten vampires he controls kill one another ruthlessly. Harry shudders, and it's not from fear.

The second group descend. Felix, Demetri, Chelsea, and Heidi, lunge for the nearest newborns, ripping their heads off before they can blink. Madness, complete and utter madness erupts. Screams of horror bounce and echo off of the walls as the newborn army is ripped to shreds.

Harry stands in the middle of it all, collecting every single soul that escapes those bodies, soothing each and every single one in death. Giving them hope for the future, allowing them to know someone in the afterlife and to greet death like an old friend, rather than something to be feared. At the end he has 98 souls within his grasp, flowing around him calmly, some rub against his calves like cats.

The Volturi stare at him fascinated, Jasper's eyes are dark, almost as black as when Major would take control. Harry’s eyes move farther south and he gulps, blushing at the large bulge within those trousers. He had yet to see what lay behind the jeans, yet he had imagined it.

The fighting done, he meets those red, almost black eyes, and his own blood sings as he remembers the venom now flowing through his veins. The other effects of it becoming known as the blond smirks at him, cruelty shining bright in his eyes.

Chapter Text

The Volturi gave up watching them long ago, Harry’s eyes meet those dark red ones and he burns as that eye contact lingers for a long moment. He stands there, taking in the image of the man before him. Tall and broad, Jasper looks like the God he was named as. Brutality shines in his eyes and a wicked smirk crawls along his face as he stares down at Harry. The man waits, watching Harry, forcing him to make the first move.

Finally Harry pounces, lunging for the man and grasping his shoulders tightly as they kiss one another hungrily. Teeth and tongue dance, vicious and cruel as they fight for dominance, Jasper winning as he forces Harry's back to the wall behind them. The shorter male grunts form the impact, biting down on that tongue, moaning at the feeling of venom forcing its way out of the organ and into Harry's own mouth.

Jasper growls low in his throat, pushing Harry harder into the wall before picking the man up, holding him up as those long legs lock around his trim waist. He thrusts, long and languid into the man’s hips, slowly dragging his own along Harry’s. Those beautiful green eyes widen before rolling into the back of his head, Jasper's own eyes close in ecstasy at the sight, his moan rumbling out of him as he thrusts again.

They disappear, apparating directly to Harry’s bedroom, Jasper collapses onto the bed. Harry climbs atop him, grinning like a cheshire cat as he looms above the blond mischievously. Jasper growls and throws the other man off of him, pinning Harry to the bed roughly. Their mouths meet again, teeth digging into the other’s lips, blood and venom flowing as they fight once more. Harry gasps, bucking into Jasper as the blond pulls the length of his hair to the side, forcing his head to follow.

Those sharp fangs dig into the pale skin of his neck, his eyes roll into his head once more. Hips thrusting wildly, Harry's moan is more of a shout as his release flows through him, punching him in the gut as it arrives with a quickness surprising to them both. Jasper grins smugly against his throat, fangs still deep within the tissue. Harry’s pants out his exhausted breaths as he stares up at the white ceiling in bliss. Jasper rises, slowly taking his shirt off, unbuttoning his jeans.

“If you thought we were done, darlin, then you have a surprise coming.”

Harry moans helplessly as he stares up at the blond, now only in his pants as that bulge stands out boldly from within, his trousers and shirt long gone. The vampire quickly goes to work on the wizard’s clothing, shredding them all rather than cleanly taking them off as he had done with his own. Harry gasps as the chilled night air hits him with full force, arching as it brushes against his sensitive skin. Jasper grins cruelly down at him, stroking himself as he watches. That hand leaves his bulge, the other holding the man above Harry. He trails it down his smooth chest, moving down to Harry's own cock, on show after his pants had been shredded, the remains of them piled around Harry's hips. A finger brushes along him and Harry chokes as it reaches the tip. He thrusts to meet it and Jasper laughs softly, mockingly.

“Not just yet, Dalrin. You already came once today, I think I get a turn too. Fair is fair, after all.”

Harry sobs out as that touch is denied, the finger pulling away, only to caress him lower.

“You react so lovely when my venom reaches your bloodstream, I wonder how you'll react to it inside of your lovely little hole.”

Harry’s moan echoes throughout the room as Jasper laughs at him, sucking on his own finger before lowering it, teasing the man below him. That finger slowly, ever so slowly swirls around Harry, Jasper’s own moan joins the other man’s as he pushes it inside the brunette gently. Harry’s eyes glaze as he thrusts against it, Jasper watching in awe.

He moves, thrusting that finger in and out, in and out, in and out. Watching as it forces its way in, before struggling to come back out, as if Harry's body wants it, refuses to let it leave. Jasper jolts, arousal shooting through his body, electrifying him. He adds another finger swiftly, his venom easing the way as he does so. In, out, in, out, again and again he thrusts those fingers, shifting them to prepare the man below him.

Those moans join his own labored breathing as Harry's glazed eyes stare into those deep red ones. A third finger joins the fist two, stretching Harry just long enough to not cause pain before they leave him. The brunette sobs, arching, trying to find them once more as Jasper licks his own hand, covering it in his dark venom. He grasps himself, lining up to that pretty pink hole before entering at a torturously slow rate, careful of his mate below him. They moan as one, Harry sobbing in ecstasy at the fullness, at Jasper.

His arms wrap around those broad shoulders, fingernails digging into his back instead of the bedsheets as Jasper thrusts slowly, testing Harry. The moan that ricochets throughout him, the very room, is answer enough. His next thrust is wild, deep, dangerous if Harry had been in his normal form. The man below him jerks, head hitting the pillow roughly from the force of it. Jasper thrusts again, and again, and again. More and more forceful each time. Harry’s moans grow louder and louder, before reaching a pitch loud enough to pierce the vampire's ears as he continues his rough thrusting. His growl rumbling through him as Harry sobs and moans wildly, wanting release, needing release.

“Jasper.”

That whispered moan does him in, he chokes, grabbing Harry’s cock in his hand and roughly stroking it, once, twice, and Harry screams. His back arches off of the bed far enough to hurt as he orgasms, his cum spraying them as his eyes roll into the back of his skull. Jasper joins him in his release, a choked moan escaping him as he collapses onto the brunette, almost sobbing at the feeling of his mate.

The ecstasy fills him, filling them, as their emotional loop swirls around them wildly, allowing them to feel the other's pleasure along with their own. Jasper groans rolling off of Harry and cuddling the man from the side as he kisses sweaty skin, now becoming tan and fragile once more. Those eyes flutter shut at the gentle caresses and loving words that leave those lips as Jasper whispers to him. Jasper smiles down at his sleeping mate, smoothing the hair away from his sweaty skin and kissing that forehead.

“I love you Harry, my master, my mate.”

Chapter Text

Victoria had been nowhere to be seen during their ambush, the kings had been furious. Harry smirks as he watches them prowl along the edges of forks, the redhead was fucked once she was finally found. Jasper and himself had warned the others of the wolves, refusing them access to the pack, clarifying that they were not werewolves, but rather shapeshifters who coincidentally took the form of wolves.

Harry himself vouched for them, saying they were family and related to wizards, thus, allowing their shapeshifting abilities. They all strayed clear of the reservation, wary of Harry’s ire if they were to hurt any of his friends or family. They had seen him in battle, their awareness of the man had shot up. Now focusing on him as well as Jasper. Watching both men warily as they continued working with one another peacefully. Both of the men were as powerful as Alec and Jane, taking down masses of newborns before the others could even enter the warehouse, their speed and powers terrifying in their own rights.

“Demetri, where is she?

The snarl erupts from Aro quickly as he whirls on the tracker.

The other man scowls, “she's evading me. That must be her power, evasion.”

Aros growl echoes, traveling on the wind as his fangs peek out from his thin lips.

“Get an estimate. Avoid tracking her directly, get a vague direction and we’ll hunt her.”

Demetri nods, focusing quickly as his head tilts to the side, as if hearing something no one but him could.

“North. She went north.”

Aro nods quickly, turning to the rest of them, “you heard him. North, we’ll hunt her until she is dead. We cannot allow a threat like her to live. Without a mate she is wild, more insane than she had been before. We need to act fast and exterminate her before she can do any more damage than she already has.”

Nods follow the quick speech, the vampires readying themselves to hunt, Harry climbs onto his broom, prepared to follow them. Jasper grins up at him as he floats a foot off of the ground.

“Not so short when you cheat, now are you?”

Harry snarls teasingly at the man, “not so fast when you're distracted, now are you?”

The chuckle that follows is nothing but sadistic joy as that cruelty dances in those blood red eyes, black and red swirling together as one as the blond licks his lips.

“I'll show you slow, darlin. If I catch you, well, you’ll just have to find out the consequences, now won't you?”

Harry shudders and gulps, “I'll only find out if you actually manage to catch me,” he rasps out.

That smirk stays on the blonds face as the rest of the vampires leave them behind, not waiting for them to finish, “we both know who will win darlin, don't even try to deny it. Go on, prove me right.”

Harry gulps once more, clenching his fists tightly around the broom as he flys away, faster than he had ever flown in his life as he rushes away from the laughing vampire on his trail. His breath is shallow as he dodges past trees and their low hanging branches. Time slows as he changes his perception to that of a vampire, the shift coming to him easily now, after his time with Jasper last night. He twists and turns masterfully, easily evading every obstacle in his path, Jasper still hot on his tail. A terrifying grin on that beautiful face as he chases the brunette though the forest wildly.

Harry’s stomach burns, from the strain of staying on the broom at such high speeds, and from the arousal shooting through his veins as he listens to those echoing footsteps directly behind him, gaining on him. He pushes his firebolt even faster, pushing it to its limits as he swerves roughly away from a tree he had not seen. He curses loudly as Jasper chuckles behind him, even closer than before, the tree costing him precious seconds. He tilts his broom up, going above a bush and yelping as he’s tossed out of the air. He hits the ground roughly, staring up at the canopy of trees above him as that beautifully dark voice rasps in his ear.

“I told you I'd catch you, darlin. Now you'll get to find out the consequences of letting me catch you and not believing that I could.”

Harry gulps, feeling the chuckle that flows through the other man as he rises, bringing Harry with him as his back rests against that broad chest.

“But that is for tonight. Right now we have to catch up to those ancient old biddies to hunt the red headed bitch.”

Harry’s breath escapes him in a harsh exhale, his pupils wide from the feeling of that hard and huge bulge rubbing against him. Jasper chuckles in his ear again.

Now. Before I chase you again and chain you to a tree, forcing you to stay there as we hunt Victoria without you.”

Harry shudders, biting his lip as he finally climbs to his feet, looking away from that devilish smirk before he could delay them any further. His arousal leaves him as swift as if a breeze had knocked it away, his eyes meet red as they stare at him, filled with laughter. His blush consumes his face as he climbs onto his broom, rushing away as that mocking laughter follows him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“East.”
They change directions instantly, following Demetri as he barks orders, following his vague sense of direction for Victoria. Harry and Jasper had caught up swiftly to the guard, acting as if they had been among the numbers the entire time, ignoring the snickers following them.
Demetri scowls, “south!”
His barking order is rough as they all swirl around, rushing to meet the women head on. Harry flies above them now, away and out of sight, still within earshot as he listens for another order from the tracker. His eyes catch flaming red as that hair shines brightly within the forest, he stops listening to demetri, they all do. They follow her trail swiftly, snarls reaching the wind as they track her, hunt her. Her feet are swift, she dodges trees and branches as easily as breathing. Harry watches her, calculating her every move as if she was a snitch, avoiding his every attempt at catching it. She truly was talented at evasion, but not talented enough. He would get her, they would get her.
Jane’s snarl erupts out of her as she runs alongside her brother, “my power doesn't work on her, she's evading it.”
Victoria laughs cheerfully, thinking she had won. The Volturi track her ruthlessly, never getting any closer to the woman as she easily avoids every attack. Harry tilts his head, smiling softly. He pulls his broom up harshly, further into the canopy as he rushes past the front lines. His eyes track her swiftly, following her, memorizing her soul. He jerks the broom up even further, above the trees. He smirks as he pushes the broom as fast as possible, rushing in a straight line, able to go without dodging trees and branches like her and the others.
He catches up swiftly, flying directly above her as he watches her soul shift and flutter, suddenly graying and shriveling as he approaches from above. His grin turns deadly, he head cocking as the predator within him snarls happily at having found its prey. He lets go of his broom, free falling towards her, down and down. Avoiding the branches masterfully as he falls. He hits her, tackling her to the forest floor as she screeches in surprise.
The Volturi halt in their pursuit, looking at him in surprise, no doubt thinking he had fallen behind. He grins and giggles, hands and fingernails digging into her diamond skin as he powers finally, finally rush into her. Prying her soul out of her, clawing deeply at her very being as he does so. Her scream of terror and pain echo, reverberating through the entirety of the forest as Harry laughs.
Those pitch black eyes swirling like clouds of smoke, his veins clear as day, his very own black venom pouring from his mouth as ecstasy fills him. Far different from what Jasper does to him, yet just as pleasurable. The power swirls around him wildly, choking the Volturi in its presence. Victoria arches, gasping wildly as he suffocates her in it, tearing her soul entirely from her with a finally vicious yank. He stares at the blood red soul fighting his grasp just as ferociously as she had fought to evade them all.
He grins ferally at it, opening his mouth, and swallows it whole. Devouring it as if it was the most delicious meal he had ever had, the metallic tang of it fills him and his eyes glow bright red for a moment, a reflection of her soul as he consumes it. He sits back, staring at her corpse before looking back at the horrified gazes of the Volturi, his grin is terrifying as he meets that sea of red eyes.
“Still think of me as the lesser threat?”
They all gulp and shake their heads, inching away from him, towards Jasper. Harry meets those pitch black eyes, small swirls of red peeking through as that smirk devours Harry as he has just devoured Victoria's soul. Harry gulps, those consequences would hit him later on, and hit him hard
Chapter 16: The End
Notes:
This chapter is the end of this story. There is always the possibility of a sequel but I believe this is a good place to end this. I want to thank every one of you for your support and love as I wrote this. It truly means the world to me and proved to me that I could actually write and have others enjoy what I wrote. Please don't be afraid to stick around and read my other works too lol. And look out for a sequel of this! It may come at some point, maybe even sooner than you think. 😘❤️🥰
Chapter Text
The Volturi had done a complete 180 in their opinions of the mated pair, now terrified of the wizard amongst them, not minding Jasper one bit. Harry chuckles softly as they walk on eggshells around him, terrified at having their own souls eaten. Harry had not known until the very moment he had held that soul that he could consume them. He was Death’s master, and Death had created the dementors long ago, it would only make sense that he could do as they do and consume souls. Each and every one he ate would be destroyed, never to be reborn as another being. It was the worst thing imaginable to happen to anyone, anything. The souls could be reconstructed, but only with extreme effort and concentration, something he was not about to do for Victoria of all people. But it was always good to know he could reconstruct the souls of anyone he wished had they been taken by a dementor's kiss.
He sighs as he watches the vampires around him interact with one another, smiling as he watches Jasper open up as Harry had never seen before. His face lights up with joy as he interacts with the kings and the guard. Each and every one of the vampires accepting him for who he is, without judgment or condemning him for his feelings and needs in life. They all understand his need for human blood, also empathizing with his struggles with his gift of empathy, unable to consume blood the normal way they would. So very different from the Cullen’s who had condemned Jasper without thought, always thinking him the weakest of them all. Simply when he broke under the strain of being surrounded by six starved vampires. Truly, he had always been the strongest of them, and it was a shame they had never realized the truth in front of them.
Harry sits upright suddenly, his head whirling to the side, the room falls silent as they look to him. His head tilts as he stares out of the cabin, smiling softly as he sees that bright and shining soul beyond the walls.
“It's okay. There is no threat, simply a visiter.”
He stands, walking to the door swiftly, opening it up to see Alice’s smiling face directly in front of his own.
“Harry!”
The little vampire pounces on him and he laughs brightly, eyes shining as he hugs her back.
“Come on! I have so much to tell you,” her eyes flicker about the room and she grins, “away from prying ears.”
Harry grins back and squeezes her hand, looking back at Jasper and winking, following the bubbly vampire out of the cabin as his mate and the Volturi watch them go. Just as quickly as Alice had arrived, she had vanished, taking Harry with her.
Harry listens to Alice, nodding all the while. She had seen everything, known that the Cullen’s leaving would allow him and Jasper to achieve the best possible future for themselves. So she had pushed the family to follow Edward, away from forks, leaving the threat of Victoria to Harry and Jasper. Leaving Edward to figure out Bella was indeed his singer, rather than his mate. She smiles at him brightly as she finishes her explanations, Harry smiles softly at her in return.
“And now? What happens? What do Jasper and I do now?”
Alice smiles back at him, “you follow your heart, do what you think is best, you’ll choose the right path. I know you will.”
Harry laughs softly, shaking his head in delight at the bubbly vampire in response. Her cheery attitude fades as she stares at him seriously, looking at him, seeing into this very future, his very life as before she blinks and smiles as softly as one could manage.
“Just take me with you when you go, that is all that I ask.”
Harry gulps, lookin at her in the eyes, looking at those amber eyes, too dark for her to solely have been surviving off of animal blood. He nods quickly, looking at her with an expression just as serious as her own as he grasps her hand in his own.
“I promise, wherever Jasper and I go, we will bring you with us.”
They smile at one another then, understanding shining within the other as their gazes meet. They were one and the same, lost in a world too big for them, yet conquering it all the while.
Jasper and Harry glance at one another before looking back at the Volturi, the bags at their feet declaring it their last few moments in Forks Washington. Aro opens his mouth to begin the goodbyes, yet Harry beats the king to it.
“Bring us with you.”
The Volturi gape at him, gawking as they glance between Jasper and Harry.
“Bring you…with us?” Aro asks, bewildered.
Harry nods sharply, watching as Alice dances into the room cheerfully, packed bag in her hand as he stands beside Jasper and Harry.
“All of us, bring us with you.”
The guard continues to stare at them in shock and Harry smiles at them all, “Jasper is happier than I have ever seen him when you all are around. You let him be himself, act like he has never been able to, completely free from worry, stress, and contempt. Anything that makes Jasper happy makes me even happier, not to mention I enjoy your company just as much as he does. As for Alice, well, she has her own reasons. She goes where it is best for her, and you are the best place for her now.”
Aro smiles at them, “you are welcome at Volterra, wherever you wish, if you make it your home, then we will keep it that way for as long as we all exist.”
They smile back at the king softly, gratefully as he opens his home to them, extending their offer for all of their eternity.
Harry nods at the man, “thank you. We will make it worth your while," Harry smiles as he looks around the room, finding Felix and Chelsea’s eyes, “after all, we already saved your lives, so I'm sure we’ll continue to better them with our presence.”
Shocked looks are exchanged as the Volturi look towards the two whose life spans had been terribly short just days ago, as if they too, could see the souls of the vampires. Harry smiles, allowing the souls within the room to shine, being seen by all within. The awe flows freely, filling Jasper with the emotion, the vestiges of it sinking into Harry through their bond. His smile grows as he watches them all, their new family, as they all smile wondrously at the world around them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As they settle into the castle, Harry watches Alice curiously. His watchful gaze obvious as he stares at her day after day, she simply winks at him, never showing him any hint of why she had asked to join them here. Weeks pass, quickly, quietly, before one day, they are called to court. Alice bounces on her feet, excitement clear as day as she pulls them both to the throne room. Jasper and Harry exchange glances, knowing they would finally find out why the giddy vampire had joined them in Volterra. She stops within the doors of the room, eyes staring into one’s just as blood red as hers as the vampire gapes at her.

Alice smiles at him so brightly it almost blinds those within the room, “you've kept me waiting!”

Harry laughs as she pounces on the bewildered man, his eyes going to Jasper's own amused ones as they watch the two mates finally meet.

“Well that explains why she came along!”

Jasper chuckles beside him, pulling Harry against his side as they smile at Alice, their sister as she chatters excitedly to the Egyptian vampire before her, Benjamin, he says though the quick breaks Alice takes before starting again. Harry leans into Jasper, smiling with such softness that Jasper’s slowly beating heart stops for a moment. The wizard glances up at him, love shining bright in his eyes as they stare at one another.

“I love you Jasper, God of War, my mate. I will love you for all eternity, even when this world destroys itself and we are forced into the next.”

Jasper leans closer to him, their mouths brushing as he whispers, “I love you Harry, my darlin, Master of Death, Master of me, my mate. I will love you till the end of the universe, forever until even Death is destroyed.”
