Chapter 1: Building a Blanket Fort with Ace
Chapter Text
When Ace originally suggested building a blanket fort, you thought he was joking. You quickly noticed that sparkle in his eyes though and you knew he wasn’t. Ace’s joy was contagious and you found yourself excited at the prospect too.
The two of you locked yourself in the commander’s cabin after stealing extra cushions and blankets from your crew members.
“How big should we make it?” you wondered.
“Very big!” declared Ace excitedly.
You smiled at him and you both started working. You pulled the two mattresses off the bed along with all the covers. Ace had the idea to place his bed vertically against the wall and that is what you went with.
Once that was done, you pushed both mattresses against it on the floor. You threw a couple thin covers over the edge of the bed and pulled them until the end of the mattresses. This way, they hung diagonally from the ceiling all the way to the floor. The fort already had its walls!
“Time to add the cushions!” announced Ace.
The two of you entered the fort through a small opening you had left on purpose, arms filled with pillows. Scattering them everywhere, you didn’t pay much attention as to where you were placing them.
“Okay, now wait here!” ordered Ace before pecking your forehead and leaving.
You took some time to admire your creation as you were waiting for him. It all looked and felt incredibly soft. A few spots that hadn’t left after multiple times being washed could be seen here and there. Overall, the bright white colour of the cloth had tarnished, becoming more of a light grey. You liked it though. The toned down brightness participated to the relaxing feeling of the fort.
A noise was made outside of the blankets and you guessed Ace was back. Before long, his freckled face poked through the entrance.
“Hey there!” he greeted with a warm smile.
You offered him back and he walked in. He was holding two cups in one hand and a plate in the other.
“There you go,” he declared as he offered you one of the drinks.
It was hot cocoa. The sweet smell immediately filled the fort.
You thanked your boyfriend for the gesture and the two of you drank your beverage while snacking.
Once you were done, Ace placed the dishes outside of the blanket fort. When he turned back to you with that adorable smile of his, you couldn’t help but pull him into a tight hug. Ace let out a small laugh.
The two of you laid down between the cushions. Ace was on his back, your face against his chest, his arm securely wrapped around your shoulders and yours around his waist. You felt him peck the top of your head and smiled against his skin.
“This was really fun,” you declared quietly.
“It was,” he agreed. “Thank you for doing this with me.”
Your heart swelled.
“Thank you for offering it,” you responded.
Ace’s chest trembled as he let out a chuckle.
“I love you,” he whispered.
You squeezed him tight as you answered.
Before you could even realise it, your eyes closed. Ace’s slow breathing lulled you to sleep while your mere presence did the same for him. He might fall asleep anywhere, but it was with you that he rested the best.
Chapter 2: Crocodile's S/O Falling Asleep as He Plays with Their Hair
Chapter Text
When you originally meet, Crocodile isn’t very impressed by you, nor is he particularly curious. He’s heard you were talented, but he had seen talented before so just that was not enough to impress him anymore.
So aside from needing time, Crocodile would have to see you in action in whatever you are good at. That is when he realises you have potential, and unlike talent, potential is something that piques his interest.
He thinks that with some extra training you could become a master and thus he very generously funds it. He originally does it in his own interest however. You are under his orders and the better you are, the more you become an important underling.
As time goes by and you prove both your loyalty and talent on multiple occasions, Crocodile takes a special interest in you.
He will request one on one conversations and will talk to you about everything and anything. It is originally linked to your work, colleagues etc. but he always manages to get some personal information.
He doesn’t really talk himself, he prefers to ask questions or debate in a few cases, but don’t expect to know anything about him personally for a really long time. Proving your loyalty to the job and the organization was one thing, but that didn’t mean he would instantly become your friend. Yet you keep having private conversations. They always have something to do with Baroque Works but also always seem to drift off to your personal life.
One time, you end up asking: “What about you?” to Crocodile after answering a personal question. It throws him off a bit, though he doesn’t show it, but to your own surprise he answers.
From that moments on, private conversations become more and more relaxed up until one day, you start what some may call a relationship. Neither of you put that label on it, yet you do behave like a couple in private. Never in public, then Crocodile remains your boss.
One day, Crocodile requests a private meeting with you as he often does. That time, he’s sitting on a large couch, a bottle of wine and two glasses waiting on a small table in front of him. He asks you to sit next to him and you oblige. Since no one else is in the room, you don’t hesitate and sit down very close to him.
The bottle of wine being already open, Crocodile serves both of you a glass and hands you yours. You clink them together and take a sip before putting it back on the table.
The man lifts his arm and motions for you to come closer, wrapping his arm around your shoulders. Your nose is nuzzled in his neck and you can feel his fingers run through your hair. A sigh escapes you.
“What shall we talk about today?” you ask.
“I only have one question for you this time,” he begins. “Are you happy, my majesty*?”
You lift your head a bit in order to meet his gaze before answering: “Couldn’t be happier.”
The response satisfies him and he offers you a small smile. You place your head back where it was and close your eyes Crocodile’s slow breathing and warmth eventually lull you to sleep.
When the man notices, he can’t help but let out a small chuckle. He makes sure not to move until you wake up and in the mean time he thinks.
Maybe he’ll make things official with you once you open your eyes again.
Chapter 3: Crocodile's S/O Wearing His Clothes and Washing Their Hair
Chapter Text
“Well, well, well, what have we here?” asked Crocodile with a hint of a smile.
Earlier in the day, you had stolen your lover’s coat. For once, he had taken it off and left it behind on a couch. You had immediately spotted it as you had entered the room and the thought to wear it quickly made its way through your mind. It was way too big for you, but you quite enjoyed it. The smell of your partner’s cologne still lingered on it and you wrapped it tightly around yourself.
Another thought crept through your mind. You weren’t sure how he would react, but you could always give it a shot. Worse case, he’d simply tell you it was a silly idea and ignore it ever happened.
You prepared yourself and waited on the couch in his office for his return. And for your greatest pleasure, he just had.
Crocodile examined you intently, slowly walking over to you. He sat down on the couch next to you, a small smile lingering on his lips.
More gently than you’d expect, he took a hold of your chin between his index finger and thumb. You were offering him a slight smirk as he detailed you.
You had drawn a scar over your face and slicked your hair back. Your lover seemed satisfied with the result… or almost.
“No cigar?” he asked.
You chuckled lightly before answering: “I wasn’t just going to steal one, now, was I?”
“Good kid,” he declared, releasing your chin.
He took the cigar he was smoking and presented it to you. Playing along, you placed it between your teeth and laid back in the couch, imitating his usual posture.
He smiled at your antics. Now he was satisfied by the picture. You looked magnificent.
After a few hours of you looking like you lover, you decided it might be a good idea to drop the act before having dinner. Other members of Baroque Works would be present and you thought it would be better to show up as your normal self.
“I’m gonna have to wash my hair,” you mumbled, running your fingers through your own locks.
They were full of gel in order to keep them slicked back.
“I’ll do it for you,” offered Crocodile.
His suggestion surprised you, but you didn’t argue.
The two of you walked over to your shared bathroom and Crocodile turned open the tap of the bath. You stripped down as he looked at you intently. He didn’t make any comments, but his eyes were saying it all.
Not waiting until the bath was full, you sat down in the warm water. Crocodile ordered you to wet your hair and you obliged. Once you were done, the man sat down on the edge of the bath behind you. With one hand, he squeezed some shampoo in your hair and massaged you scalp.
It surprised you a bit how good Crocodile was at it. He put just the right amount of pressure wherever he was.
You decided to close your eyes and enjoy the moment.
He kept going for a few more minutes before you felt his large hand leave your scalp. If you had a bit less self control, you would have let out a plaintive noise.
Instead, you opened your eyes to meet his.
“Finish cleaning up without me, I’ll see you at dinner,” he ordered before leaning down and leaving a peck on your forehead.
As he was exiting the room, he shouted one last thing over his shoulder: “You can keep the coat until then!”
Chapter 4: Taking a Bath With Crocodile
Chapter Text
Taking a bath with someone for the first time is always a special moment, no matter who you are. You could try to hide that you cared, you still did to some extent. And that rule also counts for a certain sir Crocodile. No matter how laid back he is, he knows it is a special little moment. Especially for you.
It had already been a few months since the two of you officially became partners. Before that you had already gotten into what some may call a relationship but without sticking a label on it. Your shyness had kept you from talking about it, scared to ruin what the two of you had. Eventually, Crocodile was the one to bring up the topic and your relationship was officialized.
It was unusual, but you liked it nonetheless. There was something secretive about it because even after agreeing on what the two of you exactly were, you kept the whole thing very private, mostly at Crocodile’s demand. Nevertheless, you still had your “normal couple” moments, and bathing together for the first time was one of these.
Your lover had been the one to suggest it. He owned a luxurious bathroom with a large bath in which you would easily fit together and probably still have some spare space.
“Nervous, my dear?” he asked as he let the water run.
You looked elsewhere.
“A little,” you admitted.
Crocodile moved closer to you and gently grabbed your face for you to meet his gaze. When you did, you realised once again how much taller he was compared to you. He offered you a small smile and bent over to peck your cheek. The gesture both relaxed and flustered you.
Not wasting any more time, your lover moved away and stripped bare before walking into the bath. Not expecting him to be so casual about it, you couldn’t help but look away, even after he sat down in the water.
“What are you waiting for?” he asked cheekily.
You turned to face him again.
“The water is just the right temperature, do you prefer for me to tell you when it’s cold?” he teased.
A chuckle escaped you.
Hesitantly, you pulled off every piece of clothing you were wearing. Crocodile wasn’t missing a second of it. Your shy nature had become one of his secret soft spots but he also loved examining your body. You looked magnificent.
As soon as you were naked, you hopped in the bath. Hugging your own legs close, you tried very hard to not look anywhere else than your lover’s face.
Crocodile noticed your distress and let out a chuckle.
“Get over here,” he declared, motioning for you to move closer to him.
Obliging, you crawled towards him and settled between his legs. He wrapped an arm around your middle and held you close. You could feel his heart beating in his chest. You swear you never fell as small as when you were in his arms.
Once the bath was full, Crocodile extended his arm to close the tap.
“Say, Y/N,” he murmured, “could you wash my hair?”
The request surprised you, but you didn’t reject it. Instead you moved behind him and sat on the edge of the bath. It was almost funny how even like that you were barely taller than him.
After squeezing some shampoo in your hand, you started massaging your lover’s scalp. He leaned lightly into your touch. You couldn’t help but notice that his hair was crunchy due to the gel he was using. As you kept working the shampoo into his locks however, they turned softer.
“Is this okay?” you asked.
“You’re doing great, my dear,” he responded without hesitation.
His answer flustered you but your heart also swelled with pride. A smile stretched out your lips.
This was nice.
You could get used to it. And so could Crocodile.
Chapter 5: Slow Dancing With Law
Chapter Text
The first time you asked Law to slow dance, he didn’t accept. At the time, you hadn’t been in a relationship for very long yet. He simply didn’t feel comfortable doing something like that just yet.
Law doesn’t dance. He doesn’t want to embarrass himself or you in the process. Your pouting didn’t work on him that evening and you had to let go. Instead, you sat back down next to him, your leg against his own.
The second time you asked Law to slow dance, it took a bit of persuasion, but he gave in. The two of you were alone in his room. Law had been working all day long and you had put on some calm music without asking him. He hadn’t even said anything about it until you asked to dance.
He wasn’t comfortable and he tried to push you off, saying that he couldn’t dance anyway. Telling him that it didn’t matter and that it would make you really happy if he accepted is what made him break eventually.
Law was pretty stiff at first but slowly relaxed. The absence of other people and the kind look you were offering him were helping a lot.
By the time you were done, Law was holding you close, his nose nuzzled in your neck. He might even admit he was enjoying himself.
The third time you slow danced with Law, he was the one asking you. The crew was having a night in and the captain had taken the evening off. It was a rare sight, Law at parties.
Whoever was in charge of the music ended up putting on a slow. That is when the Surgeon of Death had offered you his hand, surprising everyone including you.
Other crew members started dancing together, not leaving all the attention on the two of you and you thanked heaven for that.
Law was much more relaxed from the beginning. He pulled you close and nuzzled his nose in your hair. No matter how much noise there was around you, it all seemed to vanish. You were good, the two of you in your own bubble. Law’s heart beating against your hand, his breath tickling you ear.
“Can’t believe you made me dance,” he whispered to you.
“Do you mind?”
He pulled away a bit to meet your gaze. A small smile appeared on the corner of his lips.
“Not if it’s with you.”
Chapter 6: Adjusting Law's Collar
Notes:
Short!Reader
Modern AU
Chapter Text
“Do we really have to go?” Law asked, clearly tired.
“Yes, we do,” you responded, “it’s my best friend’s wedding.”
A sigh escaped the doctor. You knew your partner wasn’t the biggest fan of social events, especially weddings. He didn’t judge anyone who decided to get married as much as he didn’t understand the reasons. According to him, a ring and a piece of paper wouldn’t change anything about the love partners have for each other. If anything, the day you both get tired of the relationship, it makes breaking up so much more difficult.
“Why didn’t you leave earlier last night?” you gently asked.
“No one could replace me,” he explained with another sigh.
Aside from not being so keen on big social events, Law had stayed up most of the night. None of his colleagues at the hospital had accepted or were able to fill in for him.
You offered him a kind smile.
“We can leave early if you want,” you suggested, “this way you can get some sleep.”
Law shook his head. “No, it’s fine. I’ll live through it,” he responded with a slight smile tingling at the corner of his lips.
You noticed that your boyfriend’s collar was folded weirdly. Frowning, you gently ordered him to bend down.
“Why’s that?” he asked teasingly.
“Just do it!”
You could feel Law’s loving gaze on you as you were adjusting his collar. Just to keep him like this a bit longer, you also double checked his tie.
“There,” you whispered, placing your hands flat over his chest. “And we’ll leave early, I also wouldn’t mind some extra sleep. Napping with you is the best.”
Law offered you a kind smile and a chuckle.
“Thank you, dear.”
Chapter 7: Sharing a Bed with Law
Chapter Text
It was late at night. You couldn’t sleep. Your brain was on overdrive. Closing your eyes, listening to your lover’s heartbeat or being enveloped by his warmth didn’t change anything to it.
A deep sigh escaped your lips.
“What’s the matter, dear?” mumbled Law sleepily.
You instantly felt bad.
“Nothing,” you answered promptly.
“Stop lying.”
His voice was lower and quieter than usually. It almost flustered you. It did in fact fluster you. You could feel the heat creeping up your cheeks.
Law shifted behind you in bed and you turned towards him. He had an eye half open and looked at you questioningly.
Shaking your head, you repeated: “It’s nothing.”
After examining you in silence, Law spoke up again: “Why are you so nervous?”
You gulped and looked elsewhere, not daring to meet his gaze.
“Y/N?” he asked gently.
His calm tone relaxed you but you still kept your eyes fixed on the wall.
The sound of a small sigh came to your ears. Law shifted next to you in bed, wrapping his arms around your shoulders. A soft peck was placed on your forehead and your heart swelled.
“I’m nervous about tomorrow,” you admitted quietly.
“That’s normal,” Law comforted you, his lips still brushing against your skin. “Do you want to talk about it, dear?”
You lightly shook your head but thanked him nonetheless.
“Try not to think about it,” he murmured.
You nodded.
“If you want, I know a few things to distract you,” he declared jokingly.
A small laugh escaped you lips as you playfully shoved him.
“Shut up, you perv.”
“I’m just trying to help.”
Another peck was placed on your forehead.
“Try to sleep, you need to rest,” he declared.
You hummed and told him he should do the same, to which he responded with another soft peck.
“Goodnight dear,” he wished you as he squeezed you tightly against him.
The room was dark and calm. You kept your eyes closed, directing your attention to Law’s slow breathing. You could feel your muscles relax and your hectic mind come to peace. It wasn’t long before you drifted off to sleep with him.
Chapter 8: Reading a Book With Law
Chapter Text
It was part of your evening routine together. You’d both sit in bed, holding onto a book and reading in silence. The topics were probably widely different. Despite being a great doctor already, Law thought that he could always learn more and thus usually read medicine books. It was interesting but not really your thing.
The room was always quiet in those moments. The only noises breaking the silence being your breathing and the sound of the ocean against the submarine. You were sitting closely, your shoulders pressed against each other, one of your legs tangled with his own. It was peaceful, lit up just enough so you could see with ease. Law would scold you if you were to read in a room that he deemed too dark anyway.
Letting out a yawn, you placed a bookmark between two pages and closed the work. Law turned towards you.
“Tired, dear?”
You simply nodded and declared you would stop reading for tonight. Law followed your movement and closed his own book. After picking up yours, he placed both of them on the nightstand next to the bed. He turned off the light and shuffled to get under the covers with you.
You guessed the position of his head in the darkness and reached out for him. Law understood what you were trying to do and caught your hand in his. You were able to spot a light smile stretching out his lips and offered one back.
“Did you learn anything new?” you asked quietly.
“Not yet, but there is a part further in the book about poisons and I think that will be the most interesting.”
“Why don’t you just skip to that then?” you inquired.
Law shrugged. “There could always be something I don’t know in other sections.”
A chuckle escaped you. “You planning on becoming the best doctor in the world or something?”
“Are you saying I’m not already?” he joked.
You let out another light laugh before yawning.
Law squeezed your hand and pulled you towards him.
“Come here, dear.”
You scooted over to your lover and he wrapped his arms around you.
“Will you tell me about what you read tomorrow?” he asked.
You nodded in silence. The man pecked your forehead and you could feel him smile against your skin.
“Thank you. Goodnight, dear.”
Chapter 9: Law Caring for an Ill S/O
Chapter Text
You didn’t know what you had caught, but you were definitely sick. Lucky for you, your boyfriend was a doctor. Not so lucky, he always got a bit grumpy when you were sick. He was the first to tell you to wear more layers of clothing, to drink in sufficiency and get enough sleep so it did upset him when you didn’t listen to your doctor’s orders and got sick because of it. Except this time, you had listened and still had gotten ill.
Law heard you out when you had explained this to him. But to be honest, even if it had been “your fault”, it wouldn’t have changed anything about all the attention he was giving you. The man had already brought you a few cups with different teas made from medicinal plants as well as warm meals cooked by the submarine’s chef. He might skip meals every so often, but when it came to you, he cared very deeply.
Sitting down on the edge of the bed, he asked: “How are you feeling, miss?”
Quietly, you responded that you still felt like shit. Law frowned at you answer and moved his hand over to your forehead. A grimace crossed his face.
“Fever hasn’t come down yet,” he declared. After a small sigh he added: “You should clean yourself, it’ll help. I’ll prepare you a bath.”
You didn’t even have the chance to argue that Law had disappeared in your shared bathroom. He let the door open and you could hear the water run.
After a few minutes, he came back and pulled the covers off you. Taking your hand in his, he led you to the bathroom.
“Do you think you’ll be okay by yourself?”
Feeling your legs shake from fatigue, you lightly shook your head. You felt miserable but you knew lying wasn’t a good idea in this instant.
Law nodded understandingly and offered you his best attempt at a reassuring smile.
As he helped you out of your clothes you joked: “Don’t stare.”
Law chuckled. “Don’t worry about that, you look terrible anyway.”
You stared at him in mock offense. “I know but ouch,” you responded before letting out a breathy laugh.
Your boyfriend took your hands in his own and bent down to peck your forehead. “I was joking, miss. You’re still beautiful even when you look like shit.”
A shy and tired smile stretched out your lips.
Law then helped you walk into the bath, being your support. You sunk into the water like a rock. The warmth enveloping you felt good.
“Your hair is disgusting,” observed your boyfriend.
“I know,” you admitted, “but I don’t have the strength to wash them right now.”
Offering you a smile, Law declared: “I’ll do, just get your hair wet.”
You obliged while he bent over to grab the bottle of shampoo and squeeze some into his hand. As soon as you were done, his expert hands started massaging your scalp. You closed your eyes, enjoying the moment. A sigh of pure bliss escaped your lips.
You heard Law chuckle behind you. “Enjoying it, miss?”
You mumbled an approving noise. After a second thought you added as a joke: “Maybe I should get sick more often.”
Law’s response only took a millisecond: “Don’t you fucking dare.”
You let out a breathy laugh and moved away from his gentle fingers in order to turn towards him. You harbored the most precious smile ever in Law’s opinion.
“Thank you, love,” you whispered.
Leaning over to peck your forehead again, Law murmured back: “You’re welcome, miss.”
Chapter 10: Patching Sabo's Wound Up
Chapter Text
“How did you say you got this again?” you deadpanned.
Blushing and not daring to meet your gaze, Sabo sheepishly answered: “I challenged Hack into a fight.”
“Tsk, seriously, what else did you expect?”
Your boyfriend chuckled lightly and scratched the back of his neck.
“I thought I had a chance after all these years,” he explained.
“Really? Against your own teacher?”
“You think I can’t beat him?” he challenged.
“I think you can but not yet it seems, other way I wouldn’t currently be putting ointment all over your bruises,” you teased.
You finished your work shortly after this and smiled at your boyfriend.
“All done,” you declared.
Sabo stood up and immediately sneaked his arms around your middle. You rested your hands against his biceps. He was wearing his typical kind smile that you had fallen for.
“Thank you, my dear,” he said as he leaned over to peck your lips.
You smiled back at him before remarking: “You should put on an old shirt to sleep.”
“Why’s that?”
“I don’t know about you but I don’t want ointment all over the sheets.”
“Hmmm, yes, I guess you’re right,” Sabo agreed, “but what about our night cuddles?”
You chuckled. “We’ll hug with a bit of cloth between us, what a big deal.”
“Of course it is,” declared your boyfriend, “I won’t feel your hand against my chest!”
Another laughed escaped you.
“What about we have a longer cuddle session tomorrow?” you offered.
Sabo pondered the idea. He seemed to like the thought because soon enough, he beamed at you and accepted your proposition.
You let go of each other and both changed in your own nightwear. Sabo did as agreed and put a shirt on along with his usual pajama pants.
Together, you crawled in Sabo’s bed. It was still a single person one, you hadn’t had the chance to upgrade to a bigger model yet. Your boyfriend didn’t complain about it though, and neither did you. Less space meant more cuddles and oh my did Sabo love cuddles.
Like every night, you settled against your boyfriend, your head on his shoulder, a hand on his chest, his arm wrapped around you. There wasn’t much space in this bed and surely not enough to lie properly next to each other unless you were spooning, but neither of you minded. You had gotten used to it. It was cozy.
“Goodnight, cutie,” murmured Sabo.
You smiled against him and wished him to have sweet dreams. Your boyfriend pecked the top of your head.
It didn’t take long for either of you to fall asleep. You were in your own little cocoon. Warm, comfy, safe… and happy.
Chapter 11: Sharing a Dessert With Sanji
Chapter Text
As we all know already, our favourite cook is well… a cook. More importantly, he’s very passionate about it! Preparing meals for his crew members is his way to show affection. So of course, when you stumble into his life and he falls head over heels with you, he will cover you in special treats.
He loves to have your opinion on new recipes he tries or anything he cooks altogether. Generally speaking, he absolutely adores you so he shows it in the best way he knows: cooking.
This time, he baked you a dessert. Not just any dessert though, your favourite one.
Sanji invites you into the kitchen and when you walk in, you find it waiting for you on the counter, in front of the high chair you usually sit on. Your lover stands beside it, holding the chair out for you with a big smile. You give it back to him and walk over excitedly. You don’t miss the chance to peck him on the lips when you reach him. Sitting down, you also don’t forget to thank him.
“You’re welcome, my love.”
The blond sits down on the chair next to yours and awaits expectantly for you to dig in. When you do, an appreciative sound immediately escapes your lips. You turn to Sanji with a huge grin.
“It’s delicious!” you compliment. “Have you tried it yourself?”
Sanji shakes his head and explains: “It is for you.”
Nudging him, you request: “Come on, let’s share!”
Your lover offers you a kind smile and defends that you don’t have to.
“I know, but I want to,” you respond.
Surprisingly, it works and Sanji accepts to share the dessert with you.
“On one condition,” he objects.
You frown at him questioningly.
“You give me that,” Sanji declares, pointing at the cutlery you are holding.
With a chuckle, you hand it over to him.
The blond digs into the dessert and takes a bite himself. He nods approvingly while you smile at him brightly.
Not waiting until he is done swallowing, Sanji plunges back into the sweet and moves the cutlery towards you. As he raises his eyebrows expectantly, you swoop the dessert off it and enjoy its taste. Your lover really is the best cook you know.
The two of you share the little treat until there is nothing left, Sanji feeding it to you all along. It wasn’t the first tender moment like this you had together and you were sure it wouldn’t be the last.
Chapter 12: Sharing a Bed with X Drake
Chapter Text
The day had been rough. Your shoulders and neck were hurting. When it was time to head to bed with your lover, you didn’t hesitate a single second. It’s face first that you fell into the mattress.
Drake chuckled at your antics.
“Hard day?” he inquired as he started changing into his nightwear.
A mere groan was the only answer he got. You heard him let out another light laugh. Staying in bed, you could hear him shuffle behind you. After a few seconds, you were lifted off the mattress and groaned once again.
“Come on, you whining baby,” he joked.
As he put you down on your own two feet, you opened your eyes again. Drake looked at you with undeniable amusement.
“Need some help maybe?” he asked when you didn’t move to change into your own nightwear.
You knew you still had enough energy to do this yourself, but you wanted to play along and be taken care of. So you nodded while harboring a small smile.
Drake tsk-ed while shaking his head, but really, he was grinning. He unbuttoned your shirt and slipped it off your shoulders. While moving to help him, you couldn’t help a grimace from crossing your face, which didn’t escape your lover.
“Did you hurt yourself?” he asked suddenly serious.
You shook your head and explained: “Not really, today was just particularly heavy.”
Drake nodded in understanding and finished helping you get changed. Once he was done, he picked you up again, turned off the light and walked over to your shared bed
He sat down on it, his back against the wall. You frowned when he placed you between his legs but didn’t object. Quickly enough, you sighed in delight. Drake was massaging your shoulders. His large hands were applying just the right amount of pressure. He sometimes pushed harder to the point it almost hurt but still made it feel good.
Neither of you said anything.
Your day had been very tiring and you could feel you’d soon fall asleep. As if he had read your mind, that is when Drake ended his massage.
Not caring for the lightest bit anymore, you let yourself fall back against your lover. He chuckled and you could feel his chest ruble against your back, causing you to smile.
You thanked him oh so quietly.
Drake kissed your temple and wrapped an arm around you, letting you lie down on him as he shuffled to get under the covers.
You were a great plushie, he wasn’t going to let go of you any time soon.
Chapter 13: Slow Dancing with Doflamingo
Chapter Text
In a world such as the one of the Donquixotte Family, it is assumed that one is capable of dancing. The kind of dancing that fits with worldly events. The kind of dancing that takes years of practice to master and that people are trained for since their childhood.
However, you originated from a different kind of world. Such dances were only vaguely known to you. You may have seen people perform them once or twice before, but it was not a skill you possessed.
That is why Doflamingo had arranged a private meeting with you. Well as private as a meeting with him and a small number of musicians could be. Yes, he was going to teach you how to dance. Because you were his partner, and he could not allow for either of you to come over as fools.
Not that anyone would be allowed to talk behind your back without suffering the consequences, but if that situation could be avoided altogether, all the better.
“Now, let’s start with your posture,” Doflamingo declared. “Back straight, shoulders down and chin up.”
As he enumerated, he gently touched every part of your body that needed correction. When he deemed your position correct, he held your hand as he snaked his other arm around your waist. Giving you one final look, he nodded in the direction of the musicians.
Doflamingo turned back towards you and silently counted to 4. You hesitated, unsure of how well you were doing. Doflamingo however did not object, only guiding you confidently. You soon eased into the rhythm of the melody. Despite your small faults and pauses, your partner’s strong grip allowed you to not overthink your movements.
After a minute or three, the music died down. Doflamingo, however, stayed close. Looking down at you, he declared: “Better than I expected.” With a smirk, he leaned over and rested his lips against your forehead.
Chapter 14: Accidentally Falling Asleep with Kid
Chapter Text
It was an eventful night aboard the Victoria Punk. The reason of all the commotion? A successful day of pirating of course!
The bounty on your captain’s head, Eustass Kid, had gone up again. An event worth celebrating, you will agree. You and your crewmates spent the evening singing, dancing, eating and drinking. There was simply no better way to party.
However, as the night dragged on, you could feel sleepiness overtake you. Once it was too much for you, you wished the crew your farewells and went to sleep.
By the time you finally awoke, you guessed it was probably early afternoon. You had forgotten to close the curtains of your cabin the evening before and you could see the sun was high in the sky.
You didn’t feel like getting out of bed yet though. It was warm, soft and comfy under the covers.
Just as you closed your eyes again, ready to snooze for an extra 15 minutes, you were startled by movement next to you, accompanied by light snoring.
Suddenly wide awake, you turned around only to be met with strands of red hair. He had probably gone to the wrong cabin at the end of the night and crashed in your bed without realising.
“Captain,” you whispered.
The only response you received was a groan.
“Captain,” you repeated, a bit louder, all while shaking Kid’s arm in an attempt to wake him up.
Before you could react, said arm wrapped around you and pulled you closer to Kid.
Half awake, he mumbled: “Shut up, Y/N.”
Letting out a chuckle, you understood the situation was hopeless, but in the best way possible.
Chapter 15: Accidentally Falling Asleep with Law
Notes:
[Y/F/D] = your favourite pasta/rice dish
[Y/F/F] = your favourite film
Chapter Text
It is with a huge back and head ache that you got back to your condo that evening. Work had been rough. The kind of day you need a whole week to recover from, except you don’t have the time for that because you need to go back to work the next day.
At least, you were pleasantly greeted by the smell of a home cooked meal. Your roommate was home early.
“You’re late,” Law greeted from the kitchen.
“Yeah, well, I can redirect you to my boss if you want to complain about it.”
You kicked your shoes off and walked in. Absentmindedly, you grabbed plates to put on the table when Law interrupted you:
“The table is already set. All you need to do is get your ass in a chair and I’ll bring the pot over.”
You did as obliged and right as you sat down, Law joined you.
“Thanks,” you whispered.
He did not bother responding, instead serving you a scoop of [Y/F/D]. When he had filled his own plate, he sat down and you began chatting.
You talked about your crap day at work. He talked about his good day at work. You had to admit, more often than not, your roles were inverted. With Law working in a hospital, he had quite the amount of bad days.
“Wanna watch a movie?” he offered.
Since you did not respond right away, he added: “Your pick.”
“[Y/F/F],” you replied, without a second thought.
Rolling his eyes, Law deadpanned: “Should’ve seen it coming.”
Standing up, he started putting the dishes away.
“Go get the movie ready while I finish here,” he ordered.
You had always liked the way you looked after each other on bad days.
By the time Law was done in the kitchen, you were sitting in the couch with the remote. When he plopped down next to you, you started the movie.
You stirred awake. Your neck was aching.
You peaked over your shoulder towards the nearest window.
It was still dark.
Suddenly, you became aware of a mass next to you. Rubbing the sleepiness out of your eyes, you realised you had fallen asleep against Law.
And he had fallen asleep against you.
You did not remember exactly when it had happened, but you were sure you had not seen the climax of the movie.
A smile graced your features. Not wanting to disturb Law, just like he had not disturbed you, you simply put your head back against him.
“I will never hear the end of this,” you thought, right before falling back asleep.
Chapter 16: Slow Dancing with Sabo
Chapter Text
Calm. Quiet. Dark.
The stars were sparkling in the sky and their reflections were dancing on every surface they could reach, from your bed sheets to a mirror on the wall. Including Sabo’s eyes.
He turned towards you with a glimmer in his gaze and a lovesick smile as a soft purr filled the room. Then, a string of notes followed, accompanied with the typical scratching of a vinyl.
Slowly, Sabo walked over to you, close enough for you to feel his breath hit your skin. He laid a kiss upon your temple, then reached out for your right hand. He raised it, gently holding it, as his other hand snaked around your waist. Your own traveled to his shoulder.
Not a word was exchanged. You only started slowly swaying side to side. Instinctively, you closed your eyes, letting Sabo guide you. You could feel his heart beat in his chest.
You were safe and at peace in his arms. Nothing could hurt you, disturb you. All you could feel was affection.
Pulling away, Sabo met your gaze.
“I love you,” he whispered.
A smile adorned your lips.
“I love you too.”
Chapter 17: Adjusting Sanji's Tie
Chapter Text
You had been through many adventures with Sanji, but none quite like this one. Sure, you had encountered many dangers, traveled to the wildest places in the world. You had tried the most exotic foods together and somehow avoided many perilous situations. But after all of this, it was time for Sanji to finally introduce you to his family: the cooks of the Baratie. And needless to say, you had rarely seen him so nervous.
Throughout your journey together, he had often told you about his life abroad that ship, before joining the Strawhats. One figure you particularly remembered because of how often Sanji mentioned the name was Zepp. You had been told many things about him: his bad character, his pride, but also his devotion and hidden softness perhaps. It was very clear to you that he was important to Sanji, hence why he was so eager yet so nervous to present you.
He knew you would do a good impression and he trusted the crew of the Baratie enough to show some decency. But he was terrified that the two most important people in his life would not get along.
“Y/N! Are you ready?” Sanji asked once again, peeping into your shared cabin.
With a chuckle you responded: “Yes, stop worrying!”
He left out a sigh and lit a cigarette. He had been burning through them at a particularly high speed the entire day.
“I’m sorry, I just wanted to make sure. We’re getting close to the Baratie and I want us to make a good impression.”
You noticed him gulp as he looked down to the floor. Walking over to him, you gently held his chin between your index and thumb, lifting his head back up.
“We got this,” you affirmed comfortingly.
Nodding in silence, Sanji took a calming breath.
Intertwining your fingers, he led you to the deck of the ship. The Baratie was visible in the distance.
Looking at Sanji again, you noticed his tie had shifted and the knot was messy. Chuckling to yourself, you pulled on his hand so he would turn to face you. Without a word, you busied yourself with untying the fabric and tying it back elegantly.
Looking up at him you declared jokingly: “Gotta make a good impression, right?”
Smiling, he brought your hand to his lips in order to kiss it before turning his gaze back to the Baratie.
“I’m sure we will.”
Chapter 18: Playing with Shanks' Hair
Chapter Text
Disturbing your peace, Shanks plopped down in bed next to you. Half amused, you turned towards him.
“Comfortable?” you questioned.
“Yeah, although it could be better.”
Without letting you ask what he meant by that, Shanks shoved his face into your lap.
“Really? Is this your plan?” you joked.
“Yes!” he declared with a grin.
“Tsk, you’re impossible.”
“You love me though.”
You hit his chest playfully, causing Shanks to laugh.
After a tender moment of silence, he almost shyly asked: “Can you give me head scratches?”
His tone was so soft and gentle you could not refuse. With a small smile, you looked away and let your fingers slip in between his locks. Closing your eyes, you let your head lean against the wall. The sound of waves hitting the ship was relaxing. You could feel your body every so slightly being swayed.
You could have fallen asleep. If it wasn’t for a sudden and loud snore bringing you back down on earth.
You looked down and saw Shanks sleeping, mouth wide open. A chuckle escaped you at the sight. Rolling your eyes in amusement, you leaned your head back against the wall, still scratching Shanks’ hair.
Chapter 19: Sharing a Bed with Zoro
Chapter Text
It was another one of those loud and busy nights aboard the Thousand Sunny. There was cause to celebrate and so food and alcohol were flowing. Music was being played, people were shouting more than they were singing. All in all, everyone was having a good time.
You spent the evening interacting with all the crew members, whether it was for a chat or just to act silly for a couple of minutes. The only person you had avoided being Zoro.
Ever since you had realised your feelings for him were more than just friendly, you had a hard time approaching him. Not that you suddenly ignored him, you could still be courteous of course. But your usual proximity and closeness suddenly felt like too much. You did not want for Zoro to misunderstand the situation and still act the same because to him it was friendly behaviour but not to you.
As the night was slowly coming to an end, you made your way to your cabin, only to find the man you had been avoiding all night sitting by the door.
With a chuckle you asked: “What are you doing here?”
Not obtaining a response, you opened the door to your cabin. As you were about to enter, Zoro suddenly asked back: “Why are you avoiding me?”
You froze. You knew you couldn’t lie to him. You rattled your brain trying to find the best way to formulate your feelings, without outright confessing to him.
“I-”, you started. “I’m not sure we can be friends any longer. At least for now.”
Zoro sighed, standing up. Rubbing his temples he declared: “You’re such a pain in the ass sometimes, Y/N.”
“Thanks,” you said, laughing bitterly, even though you knew he had every right to say that after what you told him.
“How oblivious do you think I am exactly?”
His question took you aback once more. You couldn’t help but avoid his gaze.
“I think I know why you’ve been avoiding me. And I just want to let you know I don’t care… Or rather, I don’t mind.”
You looked back at him. Even in the dim light, you could perceive the slightest blush on his cheeks.
“What now then?” you asked, unsure.
After a pause, Zoro answered: “I think it’s time to go sleep.”
You nodded
“Would you,” you started without thinking, “… like to sleep here? With me?”
Zoro smiled at you and followed you inside your cabin.
Without exchanging another word, you swiftly got in bed.
You maybe fell asleep on opposite sides of the mattress that night, but when you woke up, it was in Zoro’s arms.
