I just rewrote it!

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Settling down

Chapter Text

It was a day like any other. The examinees were either in the middle of an exam, resting in a rest stop, or were getting punished in a confinement room.

Meanwhile, the invigilators were like always arguing about the system’s intentions and how to solve the problem.

The gentle faction or the moderates were saying that the other party should stop testing the system's patients while making more trouble for them and instead just do their jobs.

However, the forceful faction or hardliners didn’t agree with their ideas and were demanding that moderates start taking action against the system before it became even worse than now.

And while both factions were arguing for the other party to listen to them, neither did.

You Huo was sitting on one side of the table with Chu Yue by his side and the moderates behind him.

The head invigilator like always didn’t utter a word and just sat there watching as neither faction was going to back down.

Qin Jiu on the other hand would sometimes join in the argument but most of the time he would just sit in front of You Huo and look at him.

From the moment he saw him, Qin Jiu has been thinking about the head invigilator. Even when he was angry at the other party for supporting the system he couldn’t help but want to get close to him.

Unfortunately for Qin Jiu there was never a chance to get too close to A when the moderates were always following him around whenever they got the chance to meet. Well anyways.

Today GIN was once again looking at the head invigilator. His eyes met with You Huo’s but the latter quickly looked away which wasn’t unexpected but Qin Jiu couldn’t help but feel…………sad?

All of a sudden his vision darkened so he closed his eyes, blinking in confusion, and when he opened them he was sitting on something softer than the chair he was sitting on in the office.

Upon opening his eyes, Qin Jiu was met with a big black screen.

He looked around and realized that he was in a room with no doors or windows but it was filled with sofas, blankets and pillows.

Next to him on the sofa was seated invigilator A and behind them were all the other invigilators including invigilator Z and a big group of examinees.

The next second the room was filled with screams and yells of surprise. “Where are we?!” yelled one of the invigilators while the examinees moved to the back of the room, too scared of the invigilators.

“A?” Invigilator D who had looked at You Huo hadn’t realized that Qin Jiu was sitting next to the head invigilator otherwise the room would have been full of Gao Qi’s yells.

You Huo turned around to look at Gao Qi and answered with an expressionless face “This room isn’t within the system.”

At that moment everyone froze thinking if this room wasn’t in the system were they out?

Then a robotic voice rang out

[Wellcome to room 007911.]

“…What?” After a few seconds of silence, one of the invigilators couldn’t help but say.

[I would have ask you all to sit down while I explain what’s going on. Firstly every invigilator has a seat specifically chosen for them. The examinees can sit on the sofas with no name tags in whatever order they prefer.]

This time the voice was a little more expensive than it was in its first sentence.

You Huo knew that this couldn’t be the system.

Yes, it could imitate other voices even tho it stuck to his but it couldn’t be as expensive as this.

But then what was this? Was it also a system? No, too expensive. Then there was only one probability: it was a person. Or to be clear ‘people’. After all the tone of this voice changed very quickly.

Chu Yue’s seat was located next to Qin Jiu and You Huo’s one on You Huo’s side. On the same sofa as her were Gao Qi and Zhao Jiatong.

On Qin Jiu’s side tho the name tags had two numbers written on them instead of names but the system didn’t use numbers (yet) so they left those two seats empty.

After everyone was seated it started taking once more.

[Right now you are all blocked from your system and the time there has been temporarily frozen. You were all dragged here to watch your future.]

Everyone was stunned.

Only You Huo remained expressionless (but was actually curious) and Qin Jiu had a smirk and was seemingly interested (too).

[There was an error with the programming which made all injuries in this viewing experience transfer permanently on the person but were able to lower it so now all of the injuries will be only until the person is thinking or talking about said injury.]

None of the invigilators or examinees were able to say anything.

If it had that big of an effect on them then why were they dragged in? But then their current system didn’t even care if they died in the exams so getting injured was the better option. And the injuries weren’t even permanent so who were they to complain?

It wasn’t only You Huo that realized how expensive this ‘system’ was. Qin Jiu and Chu Yue had also realized it and from the tone of it just now it seemed as if it was a little regrettable for not being able to entirely fix the error so for it to drag them even so that meant that it either had a very limited amount of time to show them the future or it only had one chance to do it so it had to hurry. And if that was the case they should just start immediately.

And so when everyone quieted down all the lights in the room turned off and the screen in front of them lit up.

Chapter Text

[The snow fell for four hours. It didn’t show any signs of stopping.

This place is a barren mountain cabin. Various hunting tools hung from the walls and a long wooden table gnawed away by termites sat in the center. Around the table sat a group of people. Male, female, young and old, they were all present. There was even a foreigner amongst them.]

“Are those elderly people and elementary school kids?!”

“Is that a pregnant woman?!”

“Look at what the system you protect so much is doing! This isn’t a place for that kind of people!”

”Of course, it’s not! But do you think that yelling in front of the system that you want to destroy it would save them?!” One of the moderates yelled back.

“Wait! Then are you guys also against the system?!” Someone from the hardliners asked shocked.

“Of course we are! But we have to play on the system’s good side so that no one gets hurt more than now! If we all just scream that we will be against it and that we will try to destroy it don’t you lunatics think that it will take serious action?!”

“Oh……that does make sense.”

Upon looking at the cabin You Huo realized exactly which exam that was, after all, he had taken it with Qin Jiu.

He turned to look at Qin Jiu who was looking at the screen with a complicated expression.

He might have some feelings of familiarity looking at the cabin but wouldn’t be able to remember anything.

You Huo’s mood fell when he remembered that his lover no longer remembers their relationship but chose to continue looking at the screen.

[The room was very cold. Everyone present shivered with a solemn expression on their faces but no one moved to start a fire. The old radio sitting on the table was speaking.

【It is currently 17:30 Beijing time.】

【There are still 30 minutes until the exam starts. Examinees, please quickly head to the examination center.】]

“How far in the future does this take place?” Someone asked.

”There isn’t a date.”

“I can see that, that’s why I’m asking.”

“Is there someone outside of the examination center?” After all the system had just said that all examinees should head to the examination center so there might be someone still wondering around

“There might be. If the system is telling them that.”

[The radio sounds were scratchy and there were also static noises one would typically hear in the background of radio broadcasts from the 1950s. It tirelessly buzzed.

This was already the second broadcast. The first broadcast was three hours ago. It said 【Welcome to examination center 003712.】 which immediately caused an old lady to faint and even now she had not yet recovered.]

“The second one?”

“I still can’t get over the fact that the system is pulling elderly people in….and elementary children….and pregnant women……and- you get what I’m trying to say!” yelled one of the hardliners to the moderates but they all chose to ignore him.

“So it’s the hunter cabin exam.” commented invigilator F.

“How do you even recognise which exam exactly is it?” asked one of the braver examinees.

“Because of the examination center number. All of the exams have different examination center numbers.”

“Wait so you all have memorised every exam number?!”

“What?! No, of course not! There are hundreds of exams we can’t memorize all even tho I think that if any of the invigilators can memorized them it would be invigilator A. But the reason we know this exam’s examination number is because this exam is one of the most gruesome and disgusting ones.” explained invigilator F.

“What do you mean by MORE gruesome and disgusting?!”

“Well I am sure that you will see but be prepared and let’s continue watching.”

Even tho many examinees wanted more answers they all shut up when You Huo turned around to stare at them and then turned his head to the screen.

[Another person didn’t listen to its instructions and attempted to destroy the radio……. After removing the batteries, he ran out of the room like he was possessed. Five minutes later his body fell from the roof together with a pile of snow.

Since then, no one dared to touch it.]

“You’ve got to be kidding me!”

“Fall dead from the roof only because he took the batteries?!”

“The system is going insane!”

“Punishing the examinees yes but killing them only for that?!”

“Even punishing them for something as trivial as that is too much!”

There were screams all over the place.

You Huo knew that the system wouldn’t like for the examinees to mess with the exam’s equipment and might punish them for that but to kill them?

It seems that this isn’t in their time so maybe a year or two later? But that would mean that his and Chu Yue’s plan has failed but he can’t know for sure so he decided to just continue watching.

“Quiet.” Said You Huo and everyone quieted down.

“Let’s continue,” said Chu Yue who realized the same as You Huo did a while ago.

[This sentence was repeated three times. The room was deathly silent.

After a long time, someone sitting at the head of the table muttered irritably: “So who hasn’t entered yet?”]

“So there IS someone outside.”

[This person had a yellow head of slightly permed hair. His figure was lean, and he was average in height. Both his arms were tattooed with a sleeve of animals. Despite being unable to tell whether it was a dog or camel, it looked quite intimidating.

The person sitting next to him shrank back a little and answered: “Old Yu.”]

“Old Yu?”

“Why is there someone outside?”

“Well if it’s their first exam then they might be looking for a way out.”

Upon hearing the name You Huo and Chu Yue both froze. There is only one ‘Old Yu’ they know but they hope it isn’t who they think it is.

For others, it may not be visible that You Huo’s expression has changed and that the one on his face right now was one of a surprise but Qin Jiu could see the change in (his) big invigilator’s face.

The expression A had just made when he heard the name ‘Old Yu’ was more expressive than any other expression he had ever seen on the cold and collected head invigilator so now Qin Jiu was very interested in who exactly is this ‘Old Yu’.

[“Who is Old Yu?”

“The drunkard who vomited the moment he entered through the door. The one who brought along his son and nephew.”

The person who answered pointed towards the wall using his lips and then carefully made a “quiet” gesture.

Lying on the beaten sofa by the wall was the nephew.]

All of the invigilators were shocked.

Gao Qi turned toward You Huo and then toward the nephew.

Qin Jiu was shocked too. He looked at the nephew on the screen with wide eyes. There was no doubt that this was-

[It was a 27 or 28-year-old young man. He had a tall figure and his appearance was very extraordinary. When he held the doorframe and lowered his head to enter the cabin, the picturesque mountain pines covered in snow behind him paled in comparison. However, ever since he entered, he constantly maintained a dull expression. He seemed to be a little aloof.

According to Old Yu who rambled incessantly, his nephew's name is You Huo]

“A! What are you doing there?!” Gao Qi asked shocked.

“Maybe the system is punishing him?”

“What? To do an exam with his family?!”

The examinees and even some of the invigilators were shocked because they all thought that the head invigilator was not a real person but the spokesman of the system or even the system itself, but this confirmed that invigilator A was indeed a real person.

After a lot of questions being asked from here and there You Huo finally gave them an answer.

“It might have sent me out.”

“What?! Is the system crazy, throwing out its biggest supporter?!” One of the moderates yelled because what the hell?!

“Did the system become power hungry or something?! Throwing out the strongest examinee didn’t work so it decided to throw out the strongest invigilator?!”

You Huo didn’t say anything just continued staring at the screen expressionlessly. So the did fail. Then it’s good that only him and Chu Yue were working on it.

No one knew what was on his mind, after all the system had sent him out and most likely erased his memories and then dragged him into it once again and even involved his family.

[“He had only returned for two months and came to Harbin to find me during the National Day holidays. I was originally supposed to take him to the airport tomorrow morning. Sigh…….It’s all my fault! Useless!”

Old Yu had drunk until he was completely intoxicated. During the night when there were few people around, he stumbled around.

On the sidewalk in front of the children’s hospital, someone had left a bunch of joss paper. Old Yu stumbled around and wasn’t able to regain his balance. With one foot stepping onto the joss paper, everything spun, and himself, his son, and his nephew were all sent here.]

“So A was really sent out…”

The room was quiet after that statement.

After a few seconds, one of the moderates asked trying to change the subject because if they were only focusing on that they wouldn’t be able to continue the viewing experience and never get an answer to their question “A, how old are you?”

Even tho the question sounded very personal You Huo understood the meaning.

“It takes place in 2, 3 years.”

At that everyone was shocked. The system is still working after 3 years?!

[ When they entered the cabin, he had not yet recovered from the dizziness. No longer able to hold himself back, he vomited all over You Huo. Old Yu sobered up from his drunken state after vomiting but he was too scared to say anything to You Huo. ]

All of the examinees made a disgusted expression while the invigilators were shocked.

Vomiting all over the head invigilator? They would lose their head if they even do it in front of him.

[The people who came here were all caught unexpectedly and were completely unprepared. Only the foreigner called Mike had a set of clean clothes in his bag.]

Everyone’s eyes widened at that.

“Are we going to see him change?” One of the examinees asked blushing.

Many women blushed at that question. It didn’t matter if they were invigilators or examinees, after all the head invigilator was indeed handsome.

Qin Jiu couldn’t help but feel slightly annoyed at the fact that everyone would see You Huo changing.

You Huo was annoyed too. For him, the only person he would ever want to show more of himself in front of would be Qin Jiu.

Chu Yue looked at the two and could guess what was going on in their heads. One was annoyed that everyone would watch his dear change while the other was annoyed that he would be shown changing to everyone even tho his lover is the only one he would ever allow to see him without clothes.

She couldn’t help but snicker to herself.

Fortunately for the two annoyed idiots, future You Huo only changed his jacket.

[After You Huo changed, he remained distant from the others and lay on the sofa without a word. He appeared to have fallen asleep.

Through the arm that covered his face, you could see a stud earring on his right ear. It reflected the light coming from the oil lamp and appeared very dazzling.]

“A is sleeping?”

“That’s good then! I rarely see him take any rest!” Said Gao Qi

However, You Huo ignores the others and instead focuses on the earring that his future self has.

He wasn’t a fan of jewelry but seeing how bright it shone he couldn’t help but think of a time before Qin Jiu was kicked out. At that time examinee Qin Jiu had told him that the room was too dark and he couldn’t see him.

Even now when the other party doesn’t remember he still wants to be seen by him. By his lover.

[The sky should have darkened but every part of the mountain was covered in snow and it was still bright outside.

A pregnant woman looked towards the cabinet in panic. The time on their phones had become erratic and they could only rely on the clock sitting above the cabinet to tell the time: “It’s almost six. Could Old Yu have……….”]

The room fell dead silent. Many people prayed for Old Yu to be okay. After all, he wasn’t just anybody but the strongest invigilator's uncle.

[Bang, bang, bang!

Before she could finish her sentence, the sound of something smacking against the door was heard.

Everyone was shocked. They looked over with fearful eyes. The snow piled up on the window was pushed aside and Old Yu’s face appeared through the glass. With exaggerated mouthing, he said: “It’s me. Open the door.”]

“Thank goodness they are okay.” Said someone.

You Huo was relieved. At the very least his uncle and cousin weren’t killed before the exam even started.

[Everyone was relieved.

Fortunately, he had returned before 6 o’clock and didn’t die.

The two snow-covered men entering the house were Old Yu and his son Yu Wen.

“How is it outside?” Everyone hurriedly asked.

Old Yu shivered in place for a moment before slapping his face forcefully. He then slapped his son. When they finally warmed up a little, he said: “I went around everywhere but it was useless! No matter where I went, in no more than ten minutes I would see the cabin again. We can’t get out!”]

Some of the newer examinees were shocked.

“There really is no way out?!”

The rest of the examinees and invigilators looked at them with sympathy.

“Once you are in the only way to get out is to go through all five exams or for the system to throw you out itself.” One of the invigilators explained.

“….”

The examinees have all heard of the legendary demon king who was kicked out of the system and then dragged back in but did they have the guts to piss the system off as much as said demon king? The answer is no.

[“Were there other people? Or houses even?”

Old Yu spoke frustratedly: “No, don’t count on it.”

Everyone’s expression fell into despair.

There was no signal on the phone and the time on it had become erratic. The trees all looked the same so it was hard to tell which direction was north, south, east, or west. There was absolutely nothing.

This was their current predicament.

Oh, there was also an old radio that noisily reminded them about the exam.

Exam your mum.]

The room fell into laughter.

“Who is cursing out the system?” Someone chuckled.

You Huo too, was a little amused. After having his life and everything he cared about taken away from him by it it was nice hearing someone curse it out.

[The moment Old Yu stepped in, the radio started to make static sounds.

Just being around it for the entire afternoon was enough for the people present to develop a conditioned reflex. They immediately quietened down and looked at the radio.]

Here everyone quieted down immediately so that they could hear the notice.

[【All examinees have been admitted. The exam rules are as follows.】

Old Yu and Yu Wen who had just entered the examination centre gulped.

【The exam is conducted within a set period of time.】

【After the exam officially starts, examinees cannot enter the examination center. You may not leave the center during the exam without permission. If there is an emergency, you must follow the instructions and leave with the invigilator.】]

“Expect to get punished is there any other reason for you to take us out of the examination centre?” One of the examinees asked. After all not even one of them is half a troublemaker as Qin Jiu is and was so they don’t know any other reason for that to happen.

“There is. If the exam breaks we will have to immediately get you out of there.”

They once again decided to stay quiet. They all know what examinee Qin Jiu was best known for.

[【Apart from open book exams, you cannot use mobile devices or other communication tools. Please be considerate and turn them off.】

【The exam is point-based. Examinees must write their answer on the designated answer sheet (except in special circumstances) or the answer is invalid.】

When the radio finished speaking, everything once again turned silent.

After a while, the room suddenly started to fall into discussion.

“Who is the invigilator?”

“There are open-book exams?”

“What’s an answer sheet?”

“To think that you’re discussing it. You all must be crazy.” The tattooed man played with his swiss army knife. You couldn’t tell what he was thinking.]

“Why is he playing with a knife?! Especially in a time like this?”

They had a feeling that that tattooed man would bring trouble to future You Huo.

[“Then what should we do?” The eyes of the pregnant woman were still swollen from crying. She said quietly: “Don’t forget about that…..”

She pointed to the roof.

The tattooed man thought of the body and his face also paled. He stiffened for a moment before finally accepting the situation. Holding the swiss army knife, he waved it in a particular direction: “Little brat.”]

Everyone looked at the directions that he waved the knife in.

Who else would the tug be calling a ‘brat’ if not the only teenager there, Yu Wen?

Everyone turned around to look at You Huo with questioning expressions wondering what the older cousin thought about it but the cousin in question wasn’t that bothered.

If the tug did try to do something to Yu Wen then You Huo would of course be very angry but he wasn’t really doing anything like that right now so he wasn’t concerned but that doesn’t mean he isn’t annoyed at him.

[Yu Wen looked left and right and then pointed at himself: “You……mean me?”

“Yes, you. Come, sit here.” The tattooed man patted the seat closest to him.”

“I, uh……..” Yu Wen turned around to look at his brother only to see his brother still lying on the sofa like he was dead. He suppressed the curses inside him and said: “I’m 18.”]

“Yeah, so don’t call him a little brat!” One of the teenagers said and the other teens joined him. After all, they too didn’t like being called ‘little brats’.

Everyone else chose to ignore the teen's little rebellion and focused on the fact that You Huo was still sleeping even when his cousin was being threatened.

“…A, are you really not going to help him?” One of the invigilators asked and soon regretted it when You Huo turned around to look at him without saying anything.

After a few seconds of silence, he answered “If he needs it I will help him.” And with that, the head invigilator turned around to look at the screen.

[What’s more, the tattooed man is at most 25 or 26-years-old. How dare he call him little brat.

“It doesn’t matter how I call you!” The tattooed man was impatient, “Come here. Let me ask you. Are you a student?”

Yu Wen: “I guess so.”

The tattooed man frowned: “Can you do exams?”

Old Yu reflexively said: “He can! He grew up doing exams!”

“You can shut up.” Yu Wen said rudely to his drunkard old man.]

Some people laughed at that.

Old Yu was like any other parent, trying to show off their child, and Yu Wen was like any other kid who was in that kind of situation, not wanting his old man to embarrass him.

[But after he scolded his father and turned around, he saw that everyone in the room was staring at him.

Yu Wen: “…………….”

He thought about his words and said: “I just finished the University Entrance Examination in June and I have been playing like crazy for the past three months. I’ve already………Yeah, I can’t do them very well anymore.”]

Hearing this made some people wonder how exactly are Yu Wen and You Huo related. After all, they are so different from each other.

While one was the best of the best at anything the other was really just a normal student who didn’t have the word ‘study’ in his dictionary.

It was kinda nice.

[The pregnant woman had panicked for the entire afternoon. She smiled with great effort: “That is still better than us. It was only three months for you. We have long forgotten now.”

“No.” Yu Wen found the situation a little absurd and even forgot about his fear, “Don’t you guys read novels or watch movies? Would it truly be an exam in this horror kind of setting? It’s probably just a cover!”

“Cover for what?”

Yu Wen rolled his eyes: “How would I know? Anyway, people just die everywhere in horror movies. Who the hell would suddenly come and test you on maths and physics? Is this cabin built by the Ministry of Education?”]

Oh if only it was like that some people couldn’t help but wish that what Yu Wen just said was true.

However, they all knew that what the student said just now was nothing but a dream that would never be true in this nightmarish system.

[He still didn’t feel like he had said enough. He added at the end: “Hah.”

His cousin who was lying on the sofa like a dead pig was finally awakened by his “hah”.]

Everyone gagged. Someone really had a dead wish. Not only did they curse the system out but now they are even calling the head invigilator a pig?!

Only Qin Jiu and Chu Yue had the nerve to start laughing.

“Don’t worry big invigilator! If you are a pig then you are the most beautiful pig ever.”

You Huo just snorted at Qin Jiu’s comment.

‘Dumbass’

When Gao Qi heard his comment he was shocked. Was that dumbass trying to flirt with A?!

So he did the only thing that was reasonable for him at the moment.

He took off his shoe and threw it towards Qin Jiu who just dodged it but it nearly hit You Huo.

When he turned around to glear at them both the culprits turned towards the screen obediently.

[Yu Wen turned around to look at him.

He saw You Huo sit up and look at the group of people through half-open eyes. You Huo then kneaded the back of his neck. The legs resting on the old wooden floor were long, making the sofa appear even smaller.

The timing seemed to have been calculated and the moment he lowered his hand, the clock above the cabinet started to ring to signal that it was 6 o’clock.]

“Of course A is always calculated!” Gao Qi exclaimed proudly as if You Huo was his child.

All of the moderates nodded. After all, they all considered You Huo their younger brother.

Of course, the reason that You Huo was calculated was because he was the head invigilator and as such he had to always be on time.

[Static sounds were emitted through the radio again.

【It is currently 18:00 Beijing time. The exam has officially begun.】

【As another reminder, examinees are not allowed to enter the center after the exam has started and you cannot leave without authorization during the duration of the exam or you will be punished.】

【The other examination rules are as per the standard.】

After it threw out a threat in passing, it paused for two seconds and said:

【Exam duration: 48 hours.】

【Subject: Physics.】

Yu Wen: “…………..”

【We will now be distributing the exam papers and the answer sheets. I wish you all the best.】

After the radio was done, it once again died off.

Yu Wen: “…………….”

Goddammit, shouldn’t the exam paper and answer sheet be distributed first???]

“That’s right! And with what are we even supposed to answer the question with? I don’t see a pen anywhere.”

One of the invigilators answered “Do you see that wall covered in knife marks? That’s your clue that the pen is most likely a pen. If the question is written on it then it’s definitely the knife.

[The pregnant woman cried out in panic: “That wall!”

She was referring to the wall above the fire stove. The empty wall that was covered in several knife marks now had a few more words ——–]

“So it really is a knife! But where would they find one???”

“Didn’t that tug swing around a knife?”

“If that is the only knife in the cabin that guy might lose their only chance to answer the question!”

[Topic: A group of travellers came to a snow mountain…….

Exam details: The response will be collected every 6 hours. If no points are earned within 6 hours, you lose qualification to participate and will be evicted.

Below that was a large blank area. It was like the response area in a test paper for answers to be written in.

What question is this? What is it asking? What do we answer?]

The room was silent.

“…How are they even supposed to answer that when there isn’t a question that needs to be answered?!”

What the hell was the system thinking giving someone that kind of a ‘question’?! Did it really just want to kill everyone without giving them a chance to escape?

[Everyone was confused.]

“Don’t worry we are all confused too.” Said someone.

[Not to mention 6 hours, even if you gave them 600 hours they didn’t know how to earn the points.

At this moment, a gust of cold wind that carried small beads of snow rushed into the room causing everyone to shiver.]

“What?”

Everyone was confused who in their right mind would open the window at a time like that?!

[They looked over at the source of the wind and saw that You Huo had walked over to the window and had opened half of it.

“What are you doing?!” The tattooed man was furious.]

“….”

Ah….so the crazy person was none other then the head invigilator himself….

“A, what are you doing?” Asked Gao Qi.

You Huo didn’t say anything just shrugged a bit because of the sudden cold that came.

Upon seeing this Qin Jiu moved a little closer to him and took You Huo’s hand in his. Making sure that a certain someone wasn’t looking at them because he didn’t want more shoes flying around the room while A was cold and uncomfortable.

You Huo wasn’t sure what to think about this. After all, he didn’t think there was even the slightest possibility that he could be with Qin Jiu again but only this action gave him a little bit of hope.

He squeezed Qin Jiu’s hand.

Chu Yue who was the only one who saw this had a smile on her face. She was going to ask for this ‘system’ to give them blankets but she guessed that for now, it was okay.

[You Huo had one hand in his trouser pocket and his other hand was about to reach out. Hearing the yell, he glanced back. However, perhaps it was because the look was so fleeting, it looked cold and arrogant.

The tattooed man was even more enraged: “Don’t you know to say something before opening the window? What are you going to do if something goes wrong?”

“Who are you?”

You Huo threw out those three words and no longer paid him any attention. He again stretched out his left hand.]

Feeling You Huo’s hand becoming even colder Qin Jiu squeezed it with even tougher.

You Huo: “….”

Did Qin Jiu want to warm him up or break his arm??? This guy really is an idiot, but still he was his idiot.

[Old Yu could no longer hold back. He urged his son and whispered: “You ask.”

For some reason, Old Yu had always seemed to be afraid of this nephew of his.]

You Huo wasn’t surprised by that. He always had a feeling that no matter how much his uncle pretended to not be he too was afraid of him like the rest of his family.

[Yu Wen shouted: “Brother, what are you doing?”

You Huo retracted his left hand and waved at him. Finally, he gave them his answer: “Testing out the consequence of leaving the examination centre.”]

“So the system didn’t only kick him out but it erased his memories too?!”

The examinees were shocked while most of the invigilators expected it.

Qin Jiu looked at You Huo and asked “Okay but couldn’t you test the consequences any less dangerous way?”

He had a pretty good idea of what might happen when the snow fell on You Huo’s hand and he didn’t like the thought of the head invigilator hurting himself.

You Huo looked at him “What other way? Should I tell someone else to test it for me?”

Everyone was shocked.

Some because of the answer, and some because they haven’t heard the head invigilator talk so much even after getting out of the system and into this new system.

[Everyone present gasped. Crimson red blood flowed down his fingers onto his palm. With his pale skin, it looked even more shocking.]

Everyone’s eyes widened. This much blood? And only from getting in contact with the snow. What the hell.

Now they are even more relieved that Old Yu and Yu Wen were able to get back in time.

Looking at You Huo’s hand they all saw that it was covered in blood.

Because of the situation no one realised in what kind of a position were the two leaders sitting in.

“Is the a medkit here?” One of the invigilators asked.

“Wouldn’t matter.” That was You Huo’s answer.

“What?”

“Big invigilator meant that even if there is his future self’s hand is still bleeding so it wouldn’t matter even if you try to treat it.”

Everyone looked at You Huo for confirmation. As if what GIN had just told them was all bullshit even if it sounded like something believable.

You Huo looked at them. Did they think that everything coming out of Qin Jiu’s mouth was dog shit or? Well almost all the time that is the case but really, didn’t they know that talking nonsense was a tiring job even for Mr. Qin ‘I only talk bullshit’ Jiu.

“….He is right.”

[He casually rubbed it off and once again fiddled around with the windowsill. He picked up a rusty tin can and threw it out the window.

Under everyone’s gaze, the tin can was smashed into smithereens and it scattered across the snow.]

“You saw how it works on your hand, why are you still fiddling around with it?”

[When they once again looked at the “Exam Details”, everyone’s eyes were filled with panic.

By the wall, You Huo once again closed the window. His eyes swept past each and every one of their backs.

As for Yu Wen who had some experience with exams…….You Huo understood him well.]

“Huh? He does?”

Everyone was surprised especially the teens. After all even their parents didn’t understand them most of the time but for the cold and scary head invigilator to, it was indeed a shocking discovery.

[During the three years of high school, this high school student messed around with love and the wrong group of friends. He would often skip class to play games at internet cafes and he suffered from a strong case of eighth-grade syndrome2. Even now, he had not yet escaped that dangerous period.

It would be better to rely on a dog than him.]

Everyone:”…..”

“Really A, a dog?” Chu Yue was the first to laugh and was even rolling on the floor.

Everyone followed after her.

Qin Jiu could really imagine that little cousin of You Huo barking here and there like a dog. And You Huo was like a cat. A black lazy cat. He had a feeling that if You Huo became a cat he would be the cutest cat ever. Hell, when did he start thinking like that.

When everyone were done laughing they continued watching.

[As for the others….

Old, frail, sick, pregnant, and even a thug.

All five deadly poisons are present.]

“I mean the team isn’t the best but to call the ‘five deadly poisons’ …..”

[The opening question is a death question.]

Everyone agreed.
