Chapter Text

Year 1979 , a year before Harry was born , Lily and James Potter had been trying to have a child.
Unfortunately, Lily couldn't conceive a child, since James was infertile, so they tried many many methods from drinking potions to visiting healers, mediwitches and even muggle doctors to rituals.
James, who has been raised in a family of old blood which belives in pagan gods , started to pray to gods.
Most of the gods ignored him since he was a mortal, however one of the gods interest was peeked. Poseidon; The god of seas, Earthshaker,Stormbringer, Lord of horses, decided to look at the situation. In one hand he could leave them alone on the other hand he could bless them with a child. However he decided to test them if they were worthy or not, and so he changed into his mortal form . He appeared right infront of them, which shocked the couple.
Poseidon asked them what would they sacrifice to conceive a child , Lily and James glanced at each other first and replied with everything, we would sacrifice our everything and so Poseidon possessed James for a few days , and Lily was able to conceive a child. Poseidon told them that the kid would probably be demigod before he vanished.
Lily and James were over the moon when they got news but they remembered the words Poseidon uttered. So Lily started to read on Greek and Roman Mythology as well as Egyptian and even Shinto .
James ,who wanted their child to have good , long and a safe life prayed to the gods even more and always burnt some food for them , he also delved into Mythology himself to keep the child safe

They took precautions, put wards on their home at Godric's Hallow , they also informed of the pregnancy to people who they trusted, which was pretty low because of the on going war .
They made Sirius Black , a close friend of James ,godfather who swore to spoil the child rotten once they were born. He was also informed about the probability of kid being a demigod , which made him ecstatic since the kid would be powerful.
They made Alice Longbottom , a friend of Lily whose also pregnant, the godmother .

After a Lily and James went to check the kids gender , Sirius betted a boy and James betted a girl , Lily who saw their actions just shake her her head and went to check with Mediwitch. Mediwitch informed them it would be a boy , which made Sirius happier since he won the bet and James shook his head and gave him galleons.

James and Lily were going through possible when Sirius and Remus and Peter( they are also a part of people they have informed about pregnancy , just not the part with demigod) busted in and Sirius yelled " I will found the best name " and the other were judging the names James and Lily wrote nodding or shaking their heads. Sirius, who belived he found the best name( which he did ) yelled "Perseus Potter".

James looked at Lily and grinned ."I like it mon cheri, what about you ?" "Not bad ,what are the other options?" She he looked at the names they wrote and suddenly found them ridiculous. (like who thought the name Gordion Thomas Potter? )" I belive it would be a fitting name , it would also bring good luck since Perseus was one of happy ending heroes (for them I suppose).
And so the name was decided "Perseus Potter".

Chapter Text

On Halloween 1981

James ,who just had fought against Death Eaters , came home tired. He kissed his wife on the cheek then went to check up on Perseus who he nicknamed Percy . Percy was on his crib , playing with a shark toy which he loved. James picked him up and asked " Who is daddy's favourite son? " .
At this Percy giggled and made baby sounds. Lily called from downstairs " Dear , can you pick Percy up and come here? He needs to eat." "Of course , we will be there in a minute. " replied James as he picked Percy up and went down. After dinner , when James was just about to sit on the armchair when he felt something was wrong. He quickly realised it was Voldemort and yelled " It's him go , take Percy with you and go I 'll hold him off ." Lily took Percy and and ran to the upstairs muttering " Mommy loves you so much Percy, you're loved."" Mommy loves you , daddy loves you ."" Please be safe" . She was casting a spell around the room when she heard screaming. Voldemort came to view and said "Move and you shall be unharmed " . Lily refused and begged the gods to keep Percy safe. Voldemort casted the killing curse on her. " Avada Kedavra " As soon as those words were uttered the room lit up in green colour. Percy ,who was crying on crib, was bursting with magic as if he was angry .Voldemort casted the killing curse again but it backfired due to both Lily's love and Gods's(?) protection . With that the room lit up once again and Voldemort vanished. Sirius who felt something was wrong went to Godric's Hollow . He saw the door open and quickly rushed in. He saw James's corpse on the floor and felt tears on his face . He stood there , unable to comprehend, until he hears crying from upstairs. He quickly went upstairs, only to see Percy alive . He picked up Percy and rushed outside , swearing he'll take revenge and kill Peter, chanting like a madman. Hagrid appeared , and wanted to take Percy said it was Dumbledore's order. Sirius tried to resist at first but he reluctantly gave Percy up. He told Hagrid to take his motorcycle as it would be faster. Percy ,who was asleep , was in Dumbledore's arm after Hagrid appeared. He casted a spell on Percy to keep him warm . " I wish you luck Perseus Potter." Dumbledore said as he left him in a basket .

Chapter Text

Petunia opened the door to get milk from outside when she realised there was a basket with a baby in it. She quickly got the basket , looked around to see if there was any neighbour of hers. She rushed inside with baby in the basket and realised there was letter in it. She was reading the letter when Vernon came down stairs.

" What's wrong Petunia, why is there a baby in the house?" he asked. Petunia who was crying silently to not to wake Percy and Dudley up replied:
" You know my sister Lily , she got killed with that wretched husband of hers!"
"Apparently she had a son, whose in the basket right now."
Vernon who wasn't used to see Petunia cry was silent for a moment , trying to comfort his wife. He asked " Is he one of their kind? If he is I don't want Dudley to be them too."
when his wife calmed down. Petunia who was cooking at the moment replied
" He is but I think if we don't talk about IT it might dissapear?"

At that moment Dudley started to cry so she went to take care of him leaving Vernon and Percy behind .

When Perseus is seven

Percy knew that there was something that made him different than others. For example when he was five , he turned his teacher's hair blue or that time where he swore that he saw a man with one eye. He also knew that he wasn't a easy kid, having Adhd and dyslexia. He knew that the water healed him, and even if there wasn't water he still healed faster than others. Percy was smaller than the average but he was also faster and more agile. He could read Latin easier than English but he didn't know why.

One time when Dudley was chasing him with his "gang" he stumbled upon the library . Knowing Dudley wouldn't step here he quickly hid behind the shelves . When they were gone he checked where he was . He was in the Mythology section that wasn't what shocked him . It was the fact that he could reead one of those books without it making the words swirling around . He quickly looked around and grabbed the book not realizing it was greek. He became fascinated with some of the myths and some disgusted him. He wondered
" Why would the gods do that "
" Oh thank the gods I wont have to fight with it"
" That's cool, I wish I was able to do that"
When he finished the book it was already noon. He hadn't realised the time . He rushed to home , thinking
" Oh gods , Aunt Petunia is going to kill me"

He forgot that they were going to America tonight. Vernon had been promoted and the company needed him for external affairs. Of course they didn't want to take Perseus with them but they had no other choice. They were packing as he went inside.

"Boy ; go grab your bag ,take your clothes." yelled Vernon angrily. Percy grabbed the bag he readied before rushing out to go inside of the car .He was about to sit when Vernon pulled him by the collar.
" You will not cause us any trouble, do you understand boy?
If you make any trouble or any of that freaky business then there will be a punishment waiting for you. "
Percy , who just wanted to go, replied :
" I understand uncle Vernon. " . Vernon let go off Perseus as they headed to car.

They arrived to airport bur Perseus was starting to feel uneasy. Of course he didn't tell anyone about this even if he did no one would care. Something in his gut was telling him this flight would change his life and he didn't know it yet. While they were in the plane he felt anxious but tied it to the fact he was riding a plane for the first time .He slept for the rest of his flight .

He was awoken by Dudley yelling in his ear. Perseus told Dudley that he was awake and that there was no need for screeching like harpys. He was pretty sure harpys were better than Dudley but he didn't tell him that. Before Dudley could reply the plane landed and they grabbed their bags.
They went their hotel in New York and settled in. Vernon and Dudley quickly went for the buffet , Dudley was eating like a pig and Vernon was complaining about Americans and their food . Petunia found a way to make Perseus feel suffocated as he didn't want to be stuck in a room with her screeching, he quickly went to buffet. He grabbed a plate and served himself some food since it was included in the price they paid. He sat across Dursleys as he didn't want to be seen. It was close to midnight so they headed towards to their room.

When they woke up Vernon was at the meeting , so Petunia took Perseus and Dudley to visit monuments . Dudley saw dessert and wanted to try out and Perseus had to use the restroom so he informed his aunt that he was going to use it. His aunt gave a nod although he wasn't sure if it was a alright I know you'll be there or go I don't want to deal with you right now nod .

He went to restroom and he saw a blonde girl who had hammer and two teenagers , a boy with blonde hair and a dagger and some gears (?) and a girl with a sheild and spear. He thought he was hallucinating as the blond haired girl attacked the guy and the guy disarmed her. He saw the teenagers assuring the blond girl and gave her the dagger. That's when he decided to speak
" What's up with those gears and why are you guys hurt ?"
They looked at each other and they were whispering to themselves. He could only make out " demigod" " clear sighted" .He was about to ask more but the blonde girl spoke first.
" Do you have Dyslexia or Adhd ?" And Perseus was shocked , he didn't know how they knew about it so he nodded.
" Is there any problem with it? " he asked slightly offended since the the girl spoke rudely. The blonde guy asked
" Did something happened to you that you couldn't explain ?" Perseus nodded his head again.
The kids glanced at each other and nodded . Black haired girl spoke first.
Alright there is no way to soften this so I'm directly telling you , you are a demigod, the Greek gods exist, all those myths were true. "

Chapter Text

- Still In The Restroom -

" Thalia could've softened it , but yes , Greek Gods do exist and YOU are a son of them . However the question is which? " said the blonde boy. Percy's thoughts were like this : Well , as if my life couldn't get weirder. What's next ? That I am a wizard and there will be a immortality seeking dark lord after me?!

As soon as he thought that a shiver went down from his spine." That's can't be it , I bet my life will be more like this : Boom .Boooooooom . Paaatt. Death. More Booom ."

He suddenly realised he didn't get their names. As if thinking the same the blond guy said " I am Luke by the way, the black haired girl is Thalia and this is Annabeth. What's your name?

Percy knew that the choice he would make will change his life. If he went with these people , who might be insane, he would be free from Dursleys however if he didn't he might be in trouble from both sides seeing these guys had weapons and he didn't have anything. Eventually he decided to go with them.'Fuck it , what could possibly go wrong ?' As if to jinx himself a monster approached them.

It wasn't just A monster , there were several of them. Monsters with one eye 'Cyclops ' his mind supplied. Theyre wasn't anywhere to run , they were trapped. Thalia stroke down some of those with lighting and some with her shield. ' That's freaking cool , am I able to do that too?' and Luke took some out with his sword. He was fighting outside alongside with Thalia . Annabeth although having never used her dagger was somewhat used to killing them since she was fighting with a hammer before. And Percy felt useless, he wasn't doing anything. A Cyclop came towards him and he felt something in his gut. '

He clenched his fist, the fear he felt was gone, replaced with serenity and calmness that certainly wasn't there before the water in the pipes busted and the water was whirling around him. He used the water to push the Cyclop against the wall , crushing cyclop with the celling that was falling apart. The cyclope was trapped and he turned his back against it. The fates were probably laughing at him for his mistake he thought when he felt something was wrong. He analysed what he could do and took a metal pipe . He swung the pipe at cyclope crushed cyclope's head . The cyclope turned into gold dust and Percy turned around to see Annabeth having a hard time he rushed in to help Annabeth and clenched his fist again. The water pushed the Cyclops and Annabeth did the finishing strike with her stabbing them . Luke and Thalia had finished their own fights and rushed in to fight more. Fortunately Cyclops were dead . They went out of the restroom and suddenly Percy felt like blob of flesh without any skeleton or bones.

"I'm Perseus Potter but please call me Percy" he managed to say before he fainted. When he woke up once again he was in what seemed to be a forest . He flinched when heard a voice ." Did you know that you drool in your sleep? You woke a few times but promptly passed out again." He realised it was Annabeth that was talking. " No , no one told me before. Do you know where my glasses are? " Annabeth passed the glasses over. " Are you British? " she asked as she was looking for something in the bag . Probably to distract him.

" Yeah, how did you know?" Percy asked as he regained his surroundings completely. The trees were about thirty meters tall and they seemed to be surrounded by trees. ' Probably in a forest , I am still in America , right? '
" Your accent." she curtly replied as she took out a yellow/ gold thing . " It's ambrosia, the food of gods , eat a little bit of it or you might explode. "

"Explode ?!" He asked as he nimbled on the food. It tasted so delicious that Percy was sure it was the most delicious thing he had ever tasted . He was sure he would have eaten the whole thing if it were not for the explosion thing.

He glanced around once again and find no traces of Luke and Thalia.Annabeth who sat across him understood what he was searching for. " Thalia is looking out for monsters and Luke went out for some food , they won't be here at least for an hour." They sat in silence for a moment before Annabeth broke it . " Why did you come here? " she asked.
" Huh? " was the only intelligent sound that came out of his mouth.

" Why did you come here, America?" she explained. Percy found himself considering pros and cons of telling .In the end he chose to tell. " My uncle was promoted and had a business opportunity in here ."

" Won't they worry ?" she asked albeit a little skeptical.
Percy rolled his eyes , a little bit of anger could be seen in his eyes. " They would be celebrating this day for years to come , trust me. It's not like I like them that much either."
" What about you ?" He asked, tilting his head a bit. It was clear to Percy she was hesitant. " It's alright if you don't want to answer." For a time , they sat in the silence. Annabeth broke the silence again. " I ran away from home, It was clear to me me my step mother didn't like me."

Percy didn't ask for more, he had his past that he kept hidden and she had hers but it was enough to sympathise with each other. " We should get some dry sticks and leaves for the campfire, come on." Annabeth said as she stood up.Percy got up as well and walked next to Annabeth . " Do you know who your parents are, I know this might seem inconsiderate but it will make easier to figure out your godly parent ? " she asked as she picked some sticks. " According to my ' relatives' they both died in a car accident but as proven wrong one of my parents is still alive."

" Which side of the family were you staying with ?"
" My mother's side." " This eliminates the goddesses ." She was about to go on a rant but they heard sound. Annabeth had her dagger out and Percy was ready to fight with his fists.

Chapter Text

-The woods, around the bushes -

Just as Percy and Annabeth were ready fight they heard a gloat coming from the bushes. Annabeth looked at Percy , silently judging the situation. On one hand she could take a step closer , protecting Percy and killing the monster (if it was a monster her mind supplied.) or letting Percy take the step and back him up if it was necessary. Just as she was about to take action a head popped into view. None of them made a move. The guy opened his mouth:
-Could you guys help me , I - I think I'm stuck .

Her mind quickly came to a conclusion " A young satyr , probably inexperienced" seeing that the satyr was nervous and unarmed , she decided to help. She signaled to Percy, confirming the satyr was harmless. They pulled the satyr from the bushes and he started to speak:
"My name is Grover and I was tasked to make sure you guys would arrive to the camp alive. " the satyr introduced himself . Percy was gaping, seeing a guy who looks like a teenager with goat legs would do the trick.
" You have donkey legs. " Percy said without thinking.
" I am a satyr, half human half goat if you mind, and most satyrs would have beaten you up for that mistake." Said Grover as he started to chew on leaves that was once on him. He sniffed the air , checking for something.
" Either you guys have more demigod friends with you or you guys have a scent so strong it would attract strongest monsters with ease, and for your safety I'm hoping it's the first one."
" Definitely the first one" came an answer from behind and seeing that it was Luke ,Annabeth and Percy rushed to his side.
" I thought you guys were looking out." said Percy.
" We were , however I got a feeling something was up and came to check up on you guys, besides it was time for eating, I have managed to steal some money and Thalia hinted for a suprise , although I'm not sure if it's safe seeing it's Thals." said Luke , as he silently judged the satyr. Even though he did seem harmless Luke did not trust him one bit.

Chapter Text

Grover, who now they knew was a satyr, was taking them to a place called Camp Halfblood. But before that Percy's stomach rumbled and he blushed. "Come on Thalia is going to kill us if return late." said Luke as he silently gazed upon Grover. It was clear he didn't trust him one bit, but still let him come. Annabeth who was silent started to ask questions as they were returning. Percy tried to listen but he was to hungry to do so.

When they eventually arrived Thalia had already set everything up. "I got us some cheeseburgers , milkshakes and some fruits.Wait who is that ?" " That's Grover, he is here to take us to Camp Halfblood. Grover explained what it was to them , as they ate . Percy stared at Grover ' Is he eating cans? ' he tought but didn't say anything.

Eventually they moved and fortunately they didn't come across any monster. ' Might not even have to not fight with monsters ' Percy thought to himself. ' Yeah , spoke to soon; should have known better to jinx myself.'

They were going up on the hill and suddenly Cyclops attacked. Luke immediately started to fight so did Thalia. Annabeth teamed up with Percy effectively killing two of them. More monsters were coming out , Percy just summoned some water to fight against them and it exhausted him, and one of them was behind Thalia. "Thalia watch out" Annabeth yelled as it was approaching her. Thanks to Annabeth's fast intervention she summoned a lighting strinking it down. They were running up that hill now. "Come on we are almost there yelled one of them , Percy couldn't make it out who it was. His head was pounding as if he had been shot then stitched only to be shot again. He had seen the sign , with others with he took a step and as soon as he did that the darkness took over him.
