Chapter Text

Chapter 1: Wives Reunion 

The Doctor sat in her cell just looking at the wall. She tried to keep track of the days but with everything that had been thrown at her it was difficult. Everything she thought she knew about herself was a lie.

Everything.

She didn't know who she was anymore.

She didn't know if she deserved friends or loved ones. But her loved ones and friends kept getting taken from her. Those she loved most were dead and some she had ruined their lives. Aka Rose, Jack, Donna, Amy and Rory, Clara, Bill…River and even slightly guilty over the Master.

But her mind just kept drifting back to River. Her amazing wife who she couldn't save. Doesn't matter if in her Tenth Incarnation didn't know who, her Twelfth Incarnation should have found some other way to save her. Those 24 years on Darillium had been the best years of her life. If only she could have those times last forever. To never let River go. But Fate/Destiny hated her.

She had to deserved it didn't she?

What has she done to deserve love?

The Doctor was lost in her misery when a bright flash engulfs her and she felt herself being moved. Not that she cared much. How could things get any worse? Nothing would make what she was feeling better.

She landed suddenly on the floor with a slight groan.

"Doctor", a voice says.

The Doctor looks up weakly to see a man dressed in white.

"I am the White Guardian. Everything will be explained shortly. But first I believe there is someone you need to see straight away", the White Guardian tells her.

The Doctor doesn't move as the White Guardian disappears and the door opens and a familiar woman comes through.

"Hello Sweetie"

"Impossible", the Doctor rasps, her voice raspy due from lack of use, she scrambles back.

"Oh, I am really here my Love"

"River?" the Doctor sobs and launches herself at River.

River catches her as the Doctors legs give out, River gently lowers them to the ground. The Doctor in her lap sobbing.

River looks at the Doctor worriedly as she rocks and shh's her. She had been told to come from one of the other rooms. The White Guardian had explained a few things to her. And that she would be having a private reunion and now she could see why. Her beloved wife looked drained and her eyes were nearly lifeless until they focused on her.

"Shhh Sweetie it's ok. Everything will be ok", River says softly, rocking her wife and running her fingers through her wife's blonde hair.

The Doctor shakes her head, "It won't be alright. And anyway, this is just a dream"

"It is not a dream Love", River tells her.

"You can't be here", the Doctor replies shakily, "This is how my dreams work"

River eyes deepen in worry as she got a picture of her wife's mental state. The White Guardian had hinted at this. She didn't want to believe it. But the evidence now was overwhelming.

"How can I not be here?" River asks softly.

"Because I never get my happy ending. I don't deserve love. I wish I could just rest", the Doctor mutters.

River could hear the meaning behind the word 'rest'.

"Oh Sweetie…you deserve happiness and you deserve love. I love you. Everyone else loves you…and don't you dare imply rest like that again!" River tells her firmly.

"I'm tired River. So, so tired. I'm not who I thought I was", The Doctor whimpers.

"Tell me what happened Sweetie. What happened to the Doctor?" River asks her.

The Doctor just shakes her head tiredly. Burying herself in her wife's warm embrace.

"How can you be real? You can't be", The Doctor whispers,

River takes one of her arms from around the Doctor and cups her face. And plants a passionate kiss on her wife's lips.

The Doctor kisses her back and was surprised by the fact River's lips were warm as they kissed her passionately and the Doctor could basically feel River's love for her.

"Are you ok with a wife instead of a husband?" The Doctor asks breathlessly.

"It is marvellous Sweetie and I'll show you how much I love it later. Please Sweetie tell me what happened so I can help you", River begs.

The Doctor softly tells River little things that had happened since they went their separate ways. She did admit Gallifrey had been destroyed again.

River comforted her at the mention of that. After all she knew how much trouble her wife had went to though to save it and now it was destroyed again, River knew her wife blamed herself.

She gave the bare bones of the story of the Timeless Child. The Doctor finishes with telling her she had been in jail before she came here and didn't know how long it had been.

"Oh, my Love I am so sorry", River whispers as the Doctor lets her grief out again.

"Why can't I just rest?"

"You can rest Sweetie. But not rest, rest", River tells her putting a firmer tone in her voice.

To River's and the Doctor's surprise she falls asleep nearly at once. Showing just how much her sleep had been affected in the last few years.

The White Guardian returns and moves them to a bedroom and tells River to take their time for now and clothes were in the wardrobe.

River spent time studying her wife's face. She hated the fact her wife had been hurt again. When she finds out who did this, she was going to murder them. Nobody would be getting in her way.

It was impossible to tell time here. But after some time, the Doctor starts tossing and turning in her sleep.

"NO…no stop…please…"

River tightens her hold on her and begins whispering in her ear.

"It's alright Sweetie your safe. I'm here", River whispers to her and kisses her head.

She settles and then the pattern continues.

"I'm sorry…I'm sorry…please forgive me…", she begs in her sleep.

But the last nightmare broken River's heart.

"NO RIVER! NO let me do it I can't lose you! Please!"

River gently shakes the Doctor.

"Sweetie wake up. I'm here I'm safe. Your safe and in my arms", River tells her urgently.

The Doctor startles awake and was disoriented trying to remember what happened.

Where was she?

She felt familiar arms around her and turns to see River watching her worriedly.

"River?" she rasps.

River smiles softly, "Yes my love I'm here. What do you remember?"

The Doctor looks at her frowning, "Ummm a white light and a man greeting me. Then you"

"It seems like the White Guardians have an interest with us Sweetie", River informs her.

"River how are you here?" the Doctor asks.

River bites her lip normally she would say 'Spoilers'. But her wife was traumatised and needed her now more than ever. Maybe letting her know where she was in her timeline would help the Doctor's state.

"Post Library Sweetie", River tells her softly.

The Doctor's eyes widen at that.

"The Library? The biggest in the Universe filled with Vashta Nerada, where you…died?" she chokes out.

"Yes", River replies.

The Doctor wraps her arms around River and holds onto her tight and River does the same. River can tell for her wife hearing that had been a weight lifting off her shoulders. And she herself felt like a weight had been lifted.

"How?" The Doctor chokes out.

"Sweetie when has there been any place that could hold me?" River asks teasingly, "The Datacore was just like another Stormcage. I admit it took us awhile but we got it"

"Who is we?" The Doctor asks.

"Excuse me if you can get ready and join us in the main room then questions will be answered", a voice says to them from nowhere.

That startled them.

"Do you have any idea about is going on?" The Doctor asks.

"No. Do you?"

"Nope. But as long as I have you it shouldn't be so bad", the Doctor replies sounding happier.

"You old sap", River teases glad to see her wife acting better.

Even if it was just an act.

"Then as my Eleventh self said Geronimo"

Chapter 2: Reunions

The Doctor had felt better then what she had for a while. She had been given an opportunity for a shower and had her signature outfit provided for her. She felt more like herself now and with River by her side.

“Nice look Sweetie”, River tells her.

The Doctor preens,  “You think?”

“It is…interesting”, River teases her smirking at her pout.

“What does that mean?” the Doctor asks.

“It means your outfit is as interesting as Bow Ties was”, River replies.

“That’s good”

“If you say so”, River replies smirking.

“Oi…”, but she was cut off by a kiss from her wife.

“Come on we don’t want to be rude to our hosts”, River says distracting her.

The Doctor pouts but nods. She was interested in knowing who had gotten who out of a prison she had not managed to escape yet. No like she really had been trying.

They leave the bedroom hand in hand and head down a long hall. Following the voice who gave them directions.

“I wonder where we are and what is behind all those doors”, the Doctor muses aloud.

“I’m sure we’ll get a chance to explore later”, River replies squeezing her hand, “What do you think this place is?”

“I don’t know. I doubt it is a torture chamber…”, the Doctor shivers at that remembering her confession dial.

River squeezes her hand in comfort catching her thoughts.

“…if it was, I believe we would know by now and the fact they let us see each other and be together does suggest that this place is not entirely bad”, the Doctor continues, “And I believe I have heard the terms White Guardians before but I can’t place it at the moment”

“Last door on the left. Be prepared to reunite with some old and recent friends”, the voice tells them.

“That is not ominous in anyway”, the Doctor mutters.

They get to the last door, and they look at each other.

“Ready?” River asks her.

“As ever. Given this situation”

“A situation that you normally get in every other Sunday”, River points out.

The Doctor pouts at that but knew she really could not argue with that. When they open the door, they were greeted by the sight of dozens of people seeming to be arguing and others talking in small groups at the side.

The Doctor’s jaw drops as she takes note of many of the people who were gathered here. This was not possible! Half these people were meant to be dead! A few were meant to be trapped in a parallel universe or in the past!

“River!” a familiar Scottish voice calls.

“Amy”, The Doctor whispers seeing the familiar red head that was coming over to them with Rory and two others.

“Mother, Father…”, River says greeting them as she was pulled into a tight hug.

“What is going on?” Rory asks.

“Amelia? Rory?” The Doctor asks, “Is that you?”

Both look at her and see the joined hands.

“Doctor?” Amy asks her, “Raggedy Man?”

“Yes”, the Doctor confirms, “And wouldn’t it be Raggedy Wom…”, but she didn’t get a chance to finish as Amy pulled her onto a tight hug.

Rory joins them and the pull River into the group hug.

“Oh, we have missed you! We have been so worried about the pair of you!” Amy tells them.

“Amy has been worried”, Rory corrects looking teary eyed.

Amy elbows him, “Like you haven’t been worried!”

“My Little Amelia Pond and Rory the Roman, the Girl and Boy-Who-Waited how are you both here? You were taken by the Angels and Amy we saw Rory’s grave!” the Doctor asks them.

They share a look.

“We do not know. There was a bright light and then we and Anthony, Anthony is your brother River, were here with all these people. We only know Vastra, Jenny and Strax…oh and Kazran, Canton and Kate”, Amy informs them.

“And my Dad”, Rory adds nodding to Brian who was standing awkwardly next to them.

“Brian it is good to see you again”, the Doctor says looking just as awkward.
“River meet your adopted Little Brother Anthony…Anthony meet your Big Sister River aka Melody and THE Doctor”

The teen smiles at them.

“I have always wanted to meet you both! I am so glad I get that chance!” Anthony says excitedly.

“Doc?” a familiar voice calls.

She turns to see Graham, Ryan and Yaz walking over to her.

“Graham! Ryan! Yaz! My Fam! Your alright”, the Doctor exclaims.

“Of course we are!” Ryan exclaims.

“Where the hell have you been?” Yaz asks shoving her, “We were worried about you!”

The Doctor winces and flinches at that and she felt River stiffen as Yaz shoved her.

“We thought you were dead!” Graham tells her.

“How long has it been? A week? Two?” the Doctor asks them.

“Ten months”, Ryan states.

The Doctor winces at that. That was not good.

“Where. Have. You. Been?” Yaz asks going to shove her again.

But was stopped by a familiar figure.

“Settle down. She would have had a good reason. Let us just settle down then”, a familiar American accented voice starts firmly but amusement danced in his eyes.

“Jack!” the Doctor exclaims.

She was really happy to see the Immortal. Jack scoops her into a hug and spins her around. To his surprise it makes the Doctor laugh and hug him back tight.

Jack puts her down and kisses her.

“Hello Gorgeous I knew I would like this regeneration”, he flirts smirking.

“Jack! Stop it!” the Doctor grumbles but couldn’t seem to get the smile off her face.

Jack could see past the smile through. There was deep saddens and grief hidden. And a deep weariness. And the way the Doctor stood spoke volumes to the Immortal. But he knew better then to bring it up. At least for now.

“Are you ok Doctor?” Jack asks concern lacing his words.

“I’m the King no Queen of…”, she starts.

But River, Amy, Rory, and Jack give her a look.

“I’m fi…”

They give her another look.

“Never better”, the Doctor tells them.

They look at her exasperated. She gives them an innocent look that does not fool them.

“Doctor?” a familiar voice asks.

The Doctor turns to see a face he never though she would see again.

“Clara”, she says softly.

“You remember me?” Clara asks her for brown eyes soft.

“I got my memories back not too long ago”, the Doctor confirms.

Clara’s face lights up and she rushed over and pulled her into a tight embrace.

“I’m so sorry for how we parted ways”, the Doctor says to her holding her Impossible Girl close.

She was happy to realise she at least was taller than her.

Clara whacks her arm hard.

“Ow! What was that for?” the Doctor complains.

“For being an idiot. Yes, you went too far. But what happened leading up to our parting was MY fault. I got reckless…”

“I let you!” the Doctor bursts out.

Clara glares at her, “You’re a stubborn idiot”

“We can agree on that”, River, Jack, and Amy mutter.

As Graham, Ryan and Yaz watched confused.

“Didn’t we already discuss this?” another familiar voice asks rolling her eyes.

“Ashildr”, the Doctor states trying to remain neutral, “I believe it is still a small world”

“Doctor”, Clara warns and sounds exasperated, “Can we not do this again?” she asks with a weary sigh.

The Doctor smiles, “Of course My Clara, My Impossible Girl”

That makes Clara smile.

“It has been a long time since I have heard that. Did you Run You Clever Girl/Boy and be a Doctor?” Clara asks.

The ones that heard what they were saying were confused. Amy and Rory’s eyes widen at those words.

“I have been running faster then I have ever done”, the Doctor replies.

Clara seemed to still be able to read her. Even in this knew body. As the Doctor could tell Clara had noticed something like River and Jack had. She knew she was going to have to work harder in hiding her feelings.

Suddenly before she could say anything to try and distract Clara, she was pounced on by a person she believed she had failed as much as Clara and River and had been her fault she had been converted into a Cyberman.

“Bill”, the Doctor chokes out.

“Doctor. Loving the upgrade”, Bill tells her smiling as she pulls back and takes another woman’s hand.

“Heather, right?” the Doctor asks hoping he got the name right.

“Doctor, Bill has told me lots about you”, Heather replies with a shy smile.

“I have heard things about you too”, the Doctor replies, “I’m sor…”

“Hello Ladies, I’m Captain Jack Harkness”, Jack flirted cutting the Doctors apology off.

“Jack!”

“Sorry you're not our type Captain maybe if you get an upgrade like the Doctor, we will consider it”, Bill teases.

Jack pouts, “That’s no fun”

“Your still Captain Cheesecake”, a familiar voice teases.

The Doctor and those around her see Mickey Smith and Martha Jones coming up.

“That is Captain Beefcake to you”, Jack teases back, “And Martha Jones a voice of a nightingale still”

“That you Boss?” Mickey asks.

“Yes, Rickey it is me. Martha it is good to see you…both of you again”, the Doctor says to them.

“You should have visited us. The last time we saw you, you scared us half to death!” Martha scolds her.

The Doctor looks sheepishly at them.

“Sorry about that”, the Doctor says to them.

Martha rolls her eyes but pulls her into a hug and Mickey was quick to hug her next.

“Are you ok?” Martha asks looking at the Doctor worriedly.

“Never better”, the Doctor lies.

River, Jack, and Clara snort at that.

“We are going to have a chat later”, Martha tells her sternly.

“Looking forward to it”, the Doctor mutters inconveniently.

“Doctor, you regenerated”, Sarah Jane states coming over with her son and two girls.

“Sarah Jane! It is good to see you. This is the second body from then”, the Doctor admits hugging her.

“That always seems to be the way at the moment”, Sarah Jane states pointedly.

The Doctor just shrugs at that.

“Good to see you again Luke”
“You too Doctor”, Luke agrees.

”These are my daughters Lauren and Sky”, Sarah Jane introduces them.

The Doctors smiles awkwardly and tries to put on a happy family.

”It is an honour to meet you girls”, the Doctor states.

They beam at her.

”You too Doctor”, Lauren states.

”Mum has told us so much about you”, Sky adds.

“You remember Clyde and Rani don’t you Doctor?” Sarah Jane asks him.

The Doctor has to search for a minute before remembering.

“Oh, course I do! They were big help with the Shansheeth”, the Doctor replies beaming, “And who is that?”

“I am Maria Jackson. Are you really the Doctor?” Maria asks.

“I am”

Maria doesn’t look convinced.

“I’ll explain it to her while you greet everyone else”, Sarah Jane tells her.

“Thank you”, the Doctor states gratefully.

”This is Luke’s boyfriend Sanjay”, Sarah Jane introduces the boy beside Luke.

”Nice to meet you Sanjay”

”You too Doctor”

She moves on.

“Tegan, Melanie, Jo Grant, Nyssa, Ace, Liz, Benny, Peter it has been a long time”, the Doctor says smiling at seven plus one of her old companions.

“Not nearly as long for us”, Melanie states nodding at Tegan and Ace.

“Not me just them”, Jo pipes up after kissing her cheek, “Doctor you remember my grandson Santiago?”

”I do. Good to see you again”, the Doctor says to the boy beside Jo.

”You too. This is by far the coolest thing that has ever happened to me”, Santiago replies.

”Good to see you again Doc. Missed you”, Bernice says giving her a huge hug.

”You too Benny and I see Peter is well”, the Doctor replies nodding to Benny’s son Peter.

”You haven’t seen me either”, Nyssa adds.

“What do you mean Melanie?…”

“Tegan, Melanie, Ace, you three are from the Doctor’s future the same as Dan Lewis, Ruby Sunday and Belinda Chandra, members of UNIT and a couple of others. We know this will make things difficult but you all are not allowed to give the Doctor or Donna any major hints of your reunion”, the Guardian calls out.

“Who are you?” Tegan asks.

“An old friend”, the Guardian says.

The Doctor was introduced to Dan Lewis and Belinda Chandra, and she was interested on how they meet. She expected it to be an eventful story. (It always was) and next was a girl named Ruby Sunday.

She said quick hellos to her old friends Winston Churchill and Edwin Bracewell. Craig Owens was surprisingly here too and to his surprise so were Kazran and Abigail. Along with Canton Delaware, Harriet Jones, Astrid Peth, Liz 10, Elizabeth the 1st  and Tasha Lem. The last four making her blush and look at River who was standing with Jack looking amused.

The Doctor had to stop herself from crying over the Brigadier. Kate and both Osgoods greeted her warmly. And she meet Christofer Ibrahim and Shirley Bingham. Apparently they knew her from the future.

“My, my Doctor this new regeneration is sexy”, a familiar voice of Vastra teases.

“Oi! Married!” Jenny Flint scolds her wife.

“Hello Sir, may I take your coat?”

“The Doctor is a girl Strax”, Clara comments from nearby in fond exasperation.

The Doctor has to laugh at them. She always knew if she saw Vastra this regeneration it would be interesting.

She greets Anita, River’s Grad-Student again and was surprised the alive and human version of Charlotte Lux was really here.

“Doctor! I should kill you!” a familiar redhead shouts.

”Mummmm”, another voice groans.

The Doctor winces, “Donna how are you feeling?”

“IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY TO Me!?”

“I’m sorry”, the Doctor squeaks out at the angrily redhead.

Much to many’s amusement.

“Donna, love leave the poor guy…sorry girl along”, Wilfred says butting in.

“Thank you, Wilf!” the Doctor exclaims in appreciation.

“Oh, alright come here Missus’s I’ll save the slapping for later”, Donna says with a smile and pulls the Doctor in for a tight hug.

She then moves and hugs Wilf tight with a few tears leaking from her eyes.

Oh, how the Doctor had missed Donna and Wilf.

”Doctor this is my daughter Rose Noble”, Donna says introducing her daughter.

The Doctors eyes widen at that.

”Rose?” she stutters.

”Hello Doctor nice to finally meet you”, Rose Noble states with a smile.

”What do you mean?” the Doctor asks nervously.

Rose Noble shrugs, “I have dreams”, she states as a way of explanation.

”What do you mean dreams!?” Donna interrupts.

The Doctor decides it was wise to move on before she was pulled into the argument. But she made a mental note that she really needed to look into this. Sylvia didn’t greet her and honesty that was alright with the Doctor.

Rose greeted her somewhat warmly with the Metacrisis now named John at her side. And the Doctor knew she only avoided a slap from Jackie because she was a woman now. Pete greets her warmly and she gets to meet Rose’s younger brother Tony.

Jack then introduces his Torchwood Team. Gwen Cooper and her husband Rhys. Ianto Jones, Owen Harper and Toshiko Sato.

Tosh looked surprised that the Doctor remembered her from the incident in London.

Actually, the Doctor had surprised many of them by remembering their names. She wasn’t going to tell them how long she had, had to think about all of them.

The last four she could see were hard for her to greet. Her so-called brother Brax was just as cold as she remembered. She would have to remember to ask him if he knew the truth about her.

Her Granddaughter hugs her tightly as they try into each other’s arms. Leela whacked her shoulder and the Doctor agreed she deserved that one. And Romona was as calm as ever and said a female regeneration looked good on her.

“Ok everyone before explanations and getting yourselves comfortable I have three other current guests at this time to introduce. Don’t worry while you are here neither of them will be able to hurt any one of you”, the Guardian tells them.

The Doctor has a sinking feeling in her gut.

“Who?” Clara asks her eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Three people come in. And a few of them begin to growl or look at the pair in fear.

“Hey, I see you have finally afforded the upgrade it has been a while since the Colony Ship, hasn’t it?”

“And how long has it been since I revealed the truth to you Doctor. Does it still hurt?”

”Look at you Doctor a woman really?”

Chapter Text

Chapter 3: Assurances, Explanations, Introductions

The Doctor really had hoped her gut was wrong but not. There behind the Guardian were the Master AND Missy.

“Both of you? Really?” the Doctor asks trying to keep emotions of her face.

“Come on dear didn’t you miss us?” Missy asks smirking.

“My, my, your looking haggard there. Still do not believe?” the Master asks her, “And is that the Icicle I see lurking with Romona and Leela and is that Susan I, see?”

Brax just gives the Master an unimpressed look. Romona and Leela look like they wanted to hit him into his next regeneration.

“You two sit down and shut up”, the White Guardian orders the pair.

The Master and Missy glare at the Guardian but surprisingly obey.

”Who are you?” the Doctor asks the unknown female.

”I am the Rani, Doctor”, the Rani says smirking.

The Doctor was stunned.

”You’re alive?” the Doctor asks.

”Yes. I am in your future”, she replies.

”Doctor, who is she?” Amy asks.

”A Time Lady from my childhood”, the Doctor replies wincing.

”Oh I am much more than that”, she purrs.

“Enough! Sit down”, the Guardian orders.

The Rani smirks but goes to one of the recliners.

“Everyone I am going to be explain a few things. But first these three are the Rani, as the Doctor said and Missy aka the Mistress aka the Master and the other is the Master’s latest generation”, the Guardian tells them.

“WHAT?!” several people yell at the smirking pair.

Jack looks like he wants to shoot them and the Brigadier, Nyssa, Tegan, River, Clara, Martha, Yaz looked like they wanted that option. While the Osgoods, Wilfred, Bill, Nardole, Graham and Ryan looked on nervously. Kate looked emotionless.

Everyone that knew the Masters destructive tendencies starts to shout their protests. As River moves closer to her wife who had gone a little pale. And after what River had just learned she would be killing the Master as soon as they leave this place.

“SILENCE!” The Guardian shouts power flowing around the room.

Everyone feeling that power quickly stop shouting.

“Better. I give you my word that Missy and the Master have been contained and do not have any power to harm you here. And if they do manage to try something they will find the consequences will not be pleasant”, the Guardian tells them firmly, “Which me and my fellow Guardians have told them. They only have their words and nothing more”

“That unfortunately can be enough”, the Doctor mutters.

“True. But you are stronger than you think dear Doctor and so are others here”, the Guardian informs her.

But the Doctor does not believe that, and the White Guardian sends her a knowing look.

“Everyone I have some explaining to do. So, take a seat and I will give you some explanations. Others will be given in time”, the White Guardian instructs them.

They reluctantly do what their told and River had pulled the Doctor into her side.

“Now I am one of a group of White Guardians . . .”

“What are White Guardians?” Anita asks curiously.

“We are known Protectors of the Universe to put it simply”, the White Guardian informs them.

“We?” the Doctor asks.

“Yes and no I’m not telling you anymore about us or our real names. Not yet at least”, the Guardian replies.

Many grumble at that.

“Why are we here?” Martha asks.

“How are we here?” Rose adds.

“As I said we Protect the Universe and you are all needed to protect it and it’s chosen Champion. Do we have bought you all together”, the White Guardian continues.

“Protect? Champion?” Clara asks curiously.

“The Universe’s Chosen Champion needs saving and all of you are important to do it”, the White Guardian informs them.

The Doctor has another gut feeling and shrinks back.

“Yes, the Chosen Champion of the Universe is the Doctor”, the White Guardian adds.

Dozens of eyes were upon the Doctor now who had shrunk farther into her seat next to River who squeezes her hand in comfort.

“What is wrong with the Doctor?” Rory asks with concern in his voice.

“Doctor?” Amy asks.

“Grandmother?” Susan asks.

The Doctor could not answer them. She just could not, and she would not even look into their concerned faces.

“The Doctor has been through so much and has experienced so much grief and pain that WE the White Guardians AND the Universe herself have decided to do something about it. So, we have gathered her Companions and those who have earned the Title of Children of Time and Friends of Time to help her”, the White Guardian explains, “The Universe also wants you all to learn from mistakes and grow stronger. As it will need ALL of you at times”

Murmurs go around the group at that.

“How? How does this work?” John Tyler asks curiously, “Not only how do we learn but how are we all together? Some of us are not even meant to be here”

The White Guardian smiles at him.

“Good questions. First and foremost, you will be learning from the adventures of the Doctor . . .”

“What!?” the Doctor yelps looking nervous and some could see the flicker of fear in her eyes.

“Yes, everyone here will be seeing adventures from your Ninth Face and up. They will not be in order. Some are more important than others and some will be there so you can learn from mistakes or even how to avoid certain ones. But you will be here mainly for the and to help the Doctor. But you are also here to help yourselves and each other”

“What does that mean?” Ace asks curiously.

“You will see. You will also be seeing some Torchwood and Sarah Jane’s adventures as there are lessons to learn there too”, the White Guardian adds.

Jack’s team groans and Sarah Jane looks only slightly uncomfortable.

“Will it is only fair with the Docs life on display don’t you agree Sarah Jane”, Jack pipes up trying to make the Doctor feel better.

Jack was uncomfortable with what everyone was going to see too. But he did not show it. If this helped the Doctor, he was all for it.

“You’re right Jack. It is fair and I believe it will be beneficial”, Sarah Jane replies as she thought on it more.

“Nicely put”, the White Guardian says to the pair, “Adventures for the Doctor will also be in the future and might change”

“What about me?” Ruby asks anxiously.

“And me?” Dan adds.

“Something CAN’T be changed like you two joining the Doctor”, the Guardian assures them.

“What about Paradoxes?” The Doctor asks, “I don’t want to deal with reapers”

“That is not an issue Doctor”

“Donna’s mind will burn”, the Doctor argues.

She was going to fight this. There must be someway out of this.

“That issue will be resolved soon. So, a none factor and this place cancels that out” the Guardian states patiently.

“Amy and Rory are meant to be in the Past they will . . .”

“Again, a none issues while you’re here”

Everyone was watching the back and forward argument between the two. The Doctor was obviously to all here was trying to run.

“Rose, Jackie, Pete, Tony and Hand . . .”

“My name is John! And keep me out of this!” the Metacrisis butts in.

“. . . Will break the walls of the Universe down”, the Doctor continues.

“Considering your in a place that exists between realities, the Universe, and the Multiverse, I do not see a problem”, the Guardian retorts.

“WHAT?!” many shout.

“Multiverse?”

“Realities?”

“Are we in the Void?”

The Doctor fills the Guardians words away for later. She could investigate this another time.

“Everyone can’t be away from their families for however long this takes!” the Doctor states going back to her argument.

“Time has no meaning here. When you all return no time will have past and those that have come from the Past like Elizabeth the First and so on their memories will be blocked and depending on a choice later is whether they get them back”, the Guardian replies.

“I agree that is the best decision”, Elizabeth agrees seeing the logic.

Canton, Winston, and Edwin also nod in agreement.

“Doesn’t mean they want to be away from their families for any length of time!” The Doctor retorts.

“Those with young children will be fine. But if any of you want, we can bring them here. But that is a choice between parents. And if your partners are not here the other Guardians and I will be willing to bring they here. You can decide at anytime and there is no time limit on our offer”, the White Guardian assures everyone with a soft smile.

The Doctor is speechless for once.

“Can you bring Shaun here?” Donna quickly speaks out, “I believe he deserves to know”

“Please can Dad come?” Rose Noble pleads.

”And mine?” Maria asks quickly.

The White Guardian smiles softly and nods and with a bright flash Shaun Temple appears looking confused. Before he is pounced on by Donna and Rose Noble and the same happened when Alan Jackson was teleported in. Both quickly gave them the basics.

“Anyone else for now?” The Guardian asks.

“We have time to think on it?” Gwen asks.

“Yes”

“And it won’t expire?” Martha asks.

“Agreed. With the young children we can make a play corner and can make sure they do not see or hear anything they shouldn’t”, the White Guardian assures them.

The Parents nod there was much to think about.

“You also gave plenty of food and you’ll just have to ask if something is missing. Your bedrooms for those that were Companions of the Doctor are the same as those that were on the TARDIS. The other rooms are simple and can be changed if you ask and each have their own bathroom and only the person whose name or names on the door can get in. Others can only get in by permission of the person the room belongs too. Belongings have also been bought here. There are other rooms you can explore at your leisure. This may be a time to help the Doctor and learn but this is also your safe place to relax, spend time together, bond and forge new relationships, and regain what was lost and to heal from your own pain”, the Guardian informs them.

Many were speechless at that. It was thoughtful.

“What about those of us who are dead? We cannot exactly do anything after this so what is the point?” Owen asks crossly.

“You will find out in time Owen Harper. And you are not dead here. Those that were can surely find they have a pulse now”, the White Guardian states with amusement.

A couple mainly Clara and Owen place their fingers on their wrists and tears come to Clara’s eyes as she finally felt her pulse.

“Does that assure everyone? Doctor does this satisfy you?” The Guardian asks them.

“There is no getting out of this . . . is there?” The Doctor asks finally.

“No”, the Guardian replies firmly.

“Then I have nothing left to say”, the Doctor replies reluctantly.

Many have to snort at that or in Missy, the Master, the Rani’s and Brax’s case scoff at that.

“When you do not have anything else to say is the day I won’t flirt anymore”, Jack retorts with humour.

Snickers come from that and even the Doctor rolls her eyes.

“Stop it Jack”

“See!”

The White Guardian coughs to bring the attention back.

“I am bringing two others here now. They have been here for a private reunion. The woman will not be the most welcoming at first. But give it time”, the White Guardian tells them gently.

Many were confused by that. When the woman and child enter Jack gasps loudly. He thought he must be dreaming.

“Grandpa!” the boy exclaims and runs to Jack.

Jack caught him and held him tight as everyone who knows Jack looks at him in shock.

“Steven?”

“Missed you”, Steven tells him.

“I’ve missed you too. And you know?” Jack asks him shocked.

“They didn’t give me a choice”, Alice sniffs in disdain looking at the Guardian.

“Alice . . .”, Jack starts.

“I don’t want to talk to you. Steven come to me”, Alice calls.

“Mummmmm!” Steven protests.

“Now”, Alice orders and moves over to a two-seater couch.

Jack didn’t know what else to say to Alice. He knew he did not deserve her forgiveness. He felt the Doctors gaze on him and gives her a weak smile.

It was so the Doctor being concerned over him/others over herself/himself.

“Now I suggest you introduce yourselves and tell everyone which Doctor your associated with you”, the White Guardian instructs, “And if a child of yours is here their parents can introduce them or family members too”

Jack gets up and many were not surprised by that. He put the thoughts of what he did to Steven out of his mind for now.

“I am Captain Jack Harkness. Former Leader of Torchwood 3. I travelled with the Ninth Doctor and knew the Tenth. Alice is my daughter and Steven my Grandson”, Jack informs them and takes a seat.

Alice glares at him when he declared her his daughter and her son his grandson.

“I am Kate Lethbridge-Stewart. Commander-in-Chief of UNIT”, Kate states.

“When did that happen?” The Doctor asks.

“I think that would be spoilers Sweetie”, River teases.

“Congratulations Kate”, Clara tells her with a smile.

“I am her father Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. I only went on one adventure with the Doctor. I’ve been dead for a few years now. I am glad to see my old friend again”, the Brigadier tells everyone with a smile at the Doctor.

”I am Christofer Ibrahim. I’m a soldier at UNIT”

”I am Shirley Bingham. I am UNIT’s scientific officer”

“I’m Osgood . . .”

“And I’m Osgood . . .”

“We are with UNIT and no we are not twins”

“How does that work?” Rose Noble asks.

“How do we tell you apart?” Tony Tyler asks curiously.

“Long story”, Clara answers, “Very long and messy involving Zygons who are shapeshifters”, she adds with a look at Elizabeth I.

Elizabeth I eyes widen at that, “From when . . .”

“Yes”, the Doctor says quickly, “Can we move on?”

“But who is who?” Tony asks again.

“We are Osgood”, they both state.

“They won’t tell you and we will probably see it anyway”, the Doctor replies with a resigned sigh.

“I am River Song and I’m the Doctor’s wife”, River says helping her wife move this along.

“You’re married?” Rose asks the Doctor shocked.

“Doctor?” Yaz asks looking shocked and angry.

Yaz even sent River a glare.

“Yes. And I have been married a few times”, the Doctor admits.

“Including to me. But she was a man than. The White Guardians explained things to me earlier”, Elizabeth butts in, “I’m Elizabeth, Queen of England”

Eyes widen at that.

“Really Doc the Virgin Queen?” Jack asks her teasingly.

“Doctor”, Romona groans at the implications.

The Doctor blushes, “We never . . .”

“Yes, we never consummated our marriage and that was all on him as he NEVER came back”, Elizabeth tells them glaring at the Doctor.

Martha’s eyes widen as she remembered something from her first trip.

“Doctor is that why after Shakespeare, when sh . . .”, she starts hinting at what happened after they saved the world with Shakespeare.

The Doctor looked flustered now much to everyone’s amusement even through they did not know the story. But judging by the Doctor’s face it must have been a good one.

“Yes”, she admits flustered.

“Well then I guess you did deserve it”, Martha states.

“You were lucky they missed. If it were me, I would not have”, River adds smirking.

The Doctor pales at that much to River’s amusement.

“I am Clara Oswald. I traveled with the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctor. But in some ways, I know them all. I died a couple of years ago. This is my girlfriend Ashildr”, Clara pipes up thankfully turning attention away from the Doctor.

“My name is Me”, Ashildr butts in, “And I only meet the Twelfth Doctor”

“Keep telling yourself that”, Clara teases her.

“Done laying traps Lady Me?” Jack asks her with a half serious, half amused tone.

“Watch it Harkness. You did fall for one”, Ashildr retorts.

“That was a lifetime ago and it was not like you were complaining in the . . .”

The Doctor groans, “Of course the Two Immortals have been together. How has the world survived?” she mutters dramatically.

River pats her arm trying to hide her amusement.

“You and Jack?” Clara teases Ashildr.

Ashildr shrugs, “Immortal and boredom”

Clara just rolls her eyes and the Doctor groans again.

“Yeah, her traps were her flirting. As she knew I could not die from them”, Jack replies with a flirtatious smirk.

The Doctor puts her head in her hands and groans. Much to many’s amusement at her dramatics. Even if they were confused with Jack the pair were immortal.

“I am Madame Vastra. I am from the 19th century, and this is my wife Jenny Flint and Strax”, Madame Vastra interrupts saving the Doctor, “I have known the Doctor through many of her faces”

“What are you?” Anthony asks curiously.

“I am a Silurian”, Madame Vastra states.

“Strax looks like a Sontaran so why is he here?” Mickey asks a little on edge.

Before Strax could get into it the Doctor spoke up.

“He is a dear friend and gave his life once. He is more than welcome here”, the Doctor states quickly.

Martha nudges Mickey with a silent look to let it go. He reluctantly nods.

“I am Doctor Martha Jones-Smith. I was a Companion of the Tenth Doctor and I know work freelance with my husband”, Martha tells everyone and elbows Mickey.

“I am her husband, Mickey Smith. I knew the Ninth Doctor and reluctantly traveled VERY briefly with the Tenth Doctor”, Mickey tells the group

“I am Rose Tyler. I traveled with the Ninth and Tenth Doctors. With Jack and Mickey at different stages. I live in a Parallel World now. These are my parents Jackie and Pete Tyler and my little brother Tony and my husband John Tyler”, Rose tells everyone.

“I’m her parallel Dad”, Pete butts in.

“But still my Dad”, Rose states firmly.

“Parallel world?” Ryan asks.

“I did say Multiverse. They are basically the same as parallel”, the White Guardian interrupts, “Let’s keep this moving”

“I am Amy Pond, and this is my husband Rory Williams”, Amy states.

“Williams”, Rory corrects her.

“Always will be the Ponds to me”, the Doctor butts in making Rory sigh but with fondness.

“This is my father Brian”, Rory introduces his Dad who waves nervously.

“We travelled with the Eleventh Doctor. This is our son Anthony and River is our daughter, and the Doctor is our son/daughter-in-law”, Amy adds smirking at the chaos she created.

River too was smirking.

“Do not forget Mother, you both started travelling with the Doctor before Father and you married and even before you knew I was your daughter or conceived” , River adds smirking.

The Doctor and Rory sigh in fond exasperation.

“What?!”

“How?!”

“Grandfather?”

The Master and Missy were glaring at this.

“How does that even happen?”

“You’ll find out later. More along”, the White Guardian instructs but they could hear the amusement.

“I am Donna Noble. I traveled with the Tenth Doctor and traveled on one adventure with Martha and knew Rose, Jack, Mickey, and Sarah Jane briefly, and this is my husband Shaun, daughter Rose, my mother Sylvia, and my Grandfather Wilfred Mott”, Donna speaks up.

“I am Sarah Jane I travelled with the Third and Fourth Doctors. I meet the First, Second, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth, Tenth and Eleventh briefly. This is my daughter Lauren and my adopted children Luke and Sky”, Sarah Jane tells everyone, “I know Alister, Kate, Rose, Mickey, Jack, for the longest here. And meet Jackie, Martha, Donna briefly. These are the others of my group and friends of Luke’s, Sanjay, Clyde Langer, Rani Chandra, Maria Jackson and her father Alan”

“I am Graham O’Brian I was a Companion of this Doctor”, Graham states nervously.

“I’m Ryan Sinclair. Graham’s my Grandad. I traveled with this Doctor too”, Ryan states nervously.

“I’m Yasmin Khan”, Yaz states quickly, as she was still reeling over the Doctor having a wife.

“I am Bill Potts. I traveled with the Twelfth Doctor and only know Nardole here. This is Heather my girlfriend”, Bill tells them.

“I’m just Nardole. I know the Doctor and River”, Nardole states.

“Hi, I’m Dan Lewis and I travelled with this Doctor in the future with Yaz”, Dan states awkwardly.

Yaz looks at him surprised. And vows to talk to him later.

“I’m Canton Delaware. I only knew the Eleventh Doctor I believe”, Canton states looking at the group with interest, “I only know Doctor Song, Rory and Amy”

“I am Harriet Jones, former Prime Minister. I died a number of years ago. I knew the Ninth and Tenth Doctors. Along with Rose and the Captain”, Harriet tells them.

“I’m Winston Churchill and the Doctor has been my friend for a number of years”, Winston tells them,

“Edwin Bracewell. I am an Android. I knew the Eleventh Doctor and Miss Pond”, Edwin tells them.

Again, many of them decide not to comment. Many had so many questions to ask. But they knew now was not the time.

“Kazran Sardick and this is . . .”

“Abigail Pettigrew”, the woman interrupts.

“I’ve known the Doctor all my life”, Kazran adds.

“That is going to be fun for the Doctor to explain”, Amy whispers to Rory.

Rory nods in agreement.

”I’m Astrid Peth and I’m sorry but I don’t know which Doctor I know. I’m a little confused”, Astrid states softly.

”Astrid was a friend of my Tenth self. She died. But it looks like the Guardians are giving her a chance to see the universe through my adventures”, the Doctor explains.

“I’m Gwen Cooper and this is my husband Rhys Williams. I work at Torchwood”

“Toshiko Sato. I worked at Torchwood before I died. You can call me Tosh”, Tosh states.

“Ianto Jones. Torchwood”, Ianto states.

Tosh elbows Owen pointedly.

“Oi! You didn’t need to do that Tosh”, the man beside her grumbles.

Jack was trying not to laugh as Tosh elbows him again.

“Doctor Owen Harper. Torchwood”, Owen grumbles.

“I am Queen Liz the Tenth. I’m the Queen of the United Kingdom in the Future. I only knew the Eleventh Doctor and Amy. But through my family history I feel like I know him all”, Liz tells everyone, “You can call me Liz”

“Victoria didn’t like me”, the Doctor points out.

Rose snorts, “Whose fault was that?”

“I believe that was both of ours”, the Doctor admits sheepishly

“I can’t wait to get that story”, Jack mutters with a smirk.

“Vicky really didn’t like anyone”, Liz waves off, “But Henry the Eighth, Edward the Seventh and Elizabeth the Second all liked you well enough. You were drinking buddies with Henry”

Many decided not to comment on that.

Yet.

“I’m Tasha Lem. I was Head of the Church of the Papal Mainframe. I knew the Eleventh Doctor. I’ve only meet Clara and that was briefly”, Tasha tells them.

“I’m Craig Owens and I knew the Eleventh Doctor I believe”, Craig tells the group nervously.

“I am Anita, and this is a friend Charlotte Lux. I was Professor Songs grad student. I briefly meet the Tenth Doctor and Donna”, Anita tells them.

“I am Romona. I’m a Time Lady and Former Madame President of Gallifrey”, Romona tells the group.

“Doctor”, Clara states a question in her eyes.

“Not now”, the Doctor replies quickly.

“Leela. Companion of the Fourth Doctor”, Leela states from her place next to Romona.

“Irving Braxiatel. The Doctor’s brother”, Brax says indifferently.

The Doctor flinches at that. Wondering if Brax knew the Truth.

“I’m Susan Foreman. The Doctor is my Grandfather/Grandmother. I’m a Time Lady”, Susan tells them, “I’m glad to meet her friends”

Kate and Melanie share a look at that.

“I am Melanie Bush I was the Companion of the Sixth and Seventh Doctors. And I’ve known the Fourteenth and Fifteenth. I work at UNIT”, Melanie pipes up.

“Fourteenth and Fifteenth?” The Doctor stutters.

Many others looked surprised at that too.

“That’s all those from the future are allowed to say at the moment”, the White Guardian cuts off any questions to that.

“Call me Ace. I was the Companion of the Seventh Doctor, and I knew the Sixth and this Doctor”, Ace tells them.

The Doctor again was surprised at that.

“I’m Jo Grant née Jones and this is my grandson Santiago. And my has it been a long time since I seen her. But I saw her briefly when she was the Eleventh Doctor and Second. And traveled with the Third Doctor”, Jo replies smiling happily.

“I’m Nyssa of Traken. Companion of the Fourth and Fifth Doctors. I also traveled with Tegan”, Nyssa tells them.

”I am Bernice Summerfields and this is my son Peter. I am an archaeologist. I’ve know the Seventh Doctor, who I travelled with. I’ve also meet the Eighth, Twelfth Doctors and a few others along the way. I am also River’s mentor/teacher”, Benny says cheerfully.

”You taught River?” the Doctor asks shocked.

”Yes”

”I feel sorry for you”, The Doctor replies and winces as River elbows her, “You can’t argue with that and you know it!”

River sighs and shrugs, “I’m not denying it”

Benny laughs, “She was my most troublesome student. But she was also one of the best”

River smirks at that.

”I am Elizabeth Haggard née Shaw. You can call me Liz. I was the Companion of the Third Doctor and I knew the Fourth and Fifth. I worked at UNIT and when I did I meet River . . .”

”We became quite good friends”, River adds smirking.

The Doctor looked at the pair worried.

”I also know Jo, Sarah Jane, Tegan, Ace”, Liz finishes.

“And I’m Tegan Jovanka. I was the Companion of the Fourth and Fifth Doctors. And gave known the First, Sixth and this Doctor”, Tegan tells them.

The Doctor wondered if somehow, she saw Tegan and Ace again during the same world ending event. But she knew it would do no good to ask now.

“You're the only two left”, the White Guardian tells the young girl and young woman gently.

“Hi everyone, I’m Ruby Sunday and I traveled with the Fifteenth Doctor. Or so the Guardians tell me. I’m pleased to meet you all”, Ruby tells them nervously.

”And I am Belinda Chandra. I have just started travelling with the Fifteenth Doctor”, Belinda says with a smile.

“Now that you are all settled, and everything is explained I’ll leave you now to start. The first one will be starting shortly. So please get comfortable. After this video we will have another joining us. Now I warn you all NO fighting! Goodbye for now”, the White Guardian states disappearing in a flash of light.

The Doctor sighs not looking forward to what was coming.

“Well, everyone I think we should all find our places so we can get this done quickly”, the Doctor tells them with fake cheer in her voice.

But nobody believed this was going to be over with quickly.

Well, everybody that was except for the Doctor . . .
