Chapter 1: Prologue: How (not) to Process Isekation…
Chapter Text
The Protagonist is a mangaka who, during a break from drawing, remembers the inexplicable love and affection she had for tragic characters, the entire SNK cast, half the One Piece cast, Anthy Himemiya... Ferdinand and Georgine. Characters of her latest obsession, for whom she felt an inhuman desire to protect them, perhaps because she always wanted to protect everyone, the bad thing is that there were times when she couldn't save them... or when they didn't want to be saved... She decides to go get snacks for a Utena marathon, but on the way she meets the child version of the protagonist of her manga, with her gaze lost, walking aimlessly to the zebra crossing, she hadn't noticed a truck that seemed to have lost control and was going straight to the girl. The last thing she remembered was her body lunging in front of the girl, truck-kun hitting her back and the burning in her throat as she screamed her name. She woke up in what appeared to be a garden, with completely white grass and a greyish blue sky... she had read enough Isekai stories to know that she was now in the process of being told that she was going to be reincarnated or that she would go to hell for all the sins she had committed. After walking for a while she came across a neatly white temple, it seemed familiar to her, but she couldn't remember where it came from... until she entered and saw a beautiful library... a library that she saw in the illustrations of Ascendance of a Bookworm.
"Shit"
She walked through the library to look at the different books and Artefacts there, having special interest in the Golden Shumil and the Grutrissheit, but other than that she was on guard against the idea of being in the territory of a Goddess who she knew was not the best option to handle her reincarnation. Mestionora appeared before her, she had been brought after her death just like Myne, but she was brought for a specific reason, to save her Garden and Erwaermen. Her logic was that with her love for Quinta and Georgine, her knowledge of mythology, and her manipulation negotiation skills, they could return the Garden to its former life, to which the Protagonist refused, saying that no matter how much she had that Savior Complex, it was not worth having to live the life of a noble in Yurgenschmidt, having to keep a mask even in her house, only being free from pressure in a hidden room, her love for freedom was greater than her love for those people, no matter how much Mestionora tried to convince her, the Protagonist did not give in and simply left the Temple.
She walked through the greyish grass until she found herself in the Temple again, but ignored it continuing on her way, until she found a temple again, curiously this time it was a slightly smaller temple and although it was also made of white ivory, it had marks that seemed to be red earth, as a curious cat he decided to enter the building and... it was not at all what she expected, the only way she could describe the place was "Howl's room in Howl's Moving Castle when he turns into a monster" she didn't quite understand what was happening, but she decided to continue, whether she met another god or died, she had nothing to lose. At the end of the hallway she didn't find a giant raven, but what looked like a potions room, but everything was upside down like Wonderland and yet she could swear it was perfectly organised, as if by looking for something, as long as she knew where to look, she could find it... like inside the room of someone with ADHD. Then she saw her, a woman sitting in a chair hanging on the wall, humming, swinging her right leg while leaning on a book with her left. When she turned to look at her, she could see that her hair was the same reddish color as the stains on the building, while her eyes were white as ivory. The woman smiled like a Cheshire cat as she leaned over and rested her chin on her knee saying:
"It seems my guest was able to get through to me, I was afraid that Mestionora would convince you before I could talk to you, she can be just as convincing as her mother when she puts her mind to it, although sometimes she reminds me of how naive her father was."
After saying that, she immediately knew who the Goddess in front of her was.
"Caocipher?"
Hearing that, the Goddess of Chaos let out a laugh that made her think she was going to sing "Wouldn't You Like" by EPIC, but instead she simply summoned another hanging chair for her, and a floating table on which she put tea and sweets, she asked her about her death as if they were friends gossiping, which bothered her a little, but she was more bothered by the fact that she was having fun, making fun of herself for the typical Isekai death, lamenting that the end of her comic would never see the light of day, making fun together of the nobles who self-destruct because of their closed minds, besides, the tea was her favourite, Matcha with white chocolate and the sweet was Pan de Muerto... ironic, but she loved it.
After a while the MC decided to get serious and ask about what she said about her being "her guest" and to her surprise, Caocipher didn't beat around the bush and said that she brought her to be her Avatar, just like Rozemyne was Avatar Mestionora. She explained that she had grown bored of seeing the Garden die because of the stupidity of the nobles and not because of a French-style revolt... she said that she was the goddess of chaos, but the only chaos she really liked was the Chaos caused by the search for freedom by breaking rules and protocols, comparing it to the Chaos caused by... Monkey D. Luffy? She tried to find out how she knew him, but Caocipher brushed it off and told with displeasure about the person she was most compared to, Veronica of Ehrenfest. Veronica's chaos was pathetic, driven to seek power only by the paranoia inherited from Gabriele, a delusional narcissist whose only power was brute force and being melodramatic, obsessed with a land she never even saw for herself, in the words of the goddess:
“That woman is like an Ewigeliebe out of season, obsessed with and longing for a Geduldh who will never see her because she is an insignificant being to her.”
She kept complaining about her for a while, until she finally said what her main objective was, to get revenge on Veronica, using the Protagonist and in the process, cause as much havoc as possible in the Garden of the Gods. The girl asked why she thought she would do what she wanted, the Goddess simply said that she didn't expect it, but she was sure that she would love to have the opportunity to see Georgine being Aub, Ferdinand smiling sincerely and Veronica begging for her life... and in that she was right, but she repeated the same thing she told Mestionora, not even with the idea of being able to be with her favourite rite characters, it was worth having to wear a mask all the time. And with a Cheshire cat smile, she simply said:
"You always wear a mask"
The world is a stage, and people are actors, you can never really be yourself in front of other people and the MC knew that perfectly, but even with that, the Goddess gave her another offer, to wear that mask just to gain everyone's trust and then let loose and show those nobles that she is human, after all, the men of Dunkelfelger were well known for their outbursts, surely they will be happy to back up a Lady with the passion of Leidenschaft. She extended her hand like a cartoon demon and asked if she accepted the deal.
She wasn't too sure, on one hand, she liked the idea of causing chaos, on the other, she still didn't want to play the nobles' game… but the idea of causing chaos with Georgine and Ferdinand was certainly tempting… besides, she was already dead, and she probably won't have a way to leave… meh, why not?
“Will you help me spread Chaos in the Garden of the Gods, and take revenge on the one who stained my name?”
“And myself will avenge those she harmed… she accepted the proposal"
Although before taking her hand, he asked for the small favor of receiving dreams with the new chapters of One Piece, that was his only regret, not having been able to finish the series. And as if he had expected that answer, Caocipher simply laughed and shook her hand, then pulled the girl and threw her out the window, shouting:
"GOOD LUCK, LITTLE GELASS!"
"Wait, what?"

Chapter Text
“My body… I’m burning… my bones, it’s like they’re melting”
Was this the Devourer? That explained very well how no one survived past infancy. She tried to remember Rozemyne's Compression method, but because of the heat she could only remember something about boiling liquid, she tried to visualize a boiling pot, and somehow managed to lower her fever enough to be able to open her eyes, she could see a wooden ceiling, luckily for her, it was actually clean, so it wasn't a room in the lower city, or at least it was the northern area, she tried to grab her hair because she was curious if it was a fantasy color, and it turned out to be an earth red similar to Chaocipher's, she took the fact of being her Avatar very seriously. Her hand was small, like that of a child of at least three years old, with the typical strength of someone that age, the sheets felt nice and the clothes seemed to be of quite good quality, so indeed, she was in the northern part of the city, perhaps the daughter of a merchant with the equivalent of middle class on Earth.
When the door opened he could see a woman in her twenties with milk tea color hair and dark grey eyes, he could identify her as his mother, Rust, thanks to the body's memories. And just because she could, she decided to recreate the scene from the 'Back to the Future' trilogy where Martin McFly talks about what happened to a woman of his family, but giving vague explanations of what the earth was like, and why not? She described an old sewing machine, the woman laughed as she stroked his hair and said:
“I wish I had one of those things, that way I could work faster on Gilberta”
…
“Gilberta?!”
She tried to stand up, but she did it so quickly that she ended up falling back onto the bed, Rust gently scolded her for doing something so reckless, soon after the door opened and a man, Levi, with red hair and eyes of the same color but darker, with a kind smile, and with a baby in his arms, followed by a child similar to Benno, which confirmed that indeed, he was in the Gilberta Company, so the baby must be Corinna.
When Caocipher said he wanted her to be like Myne, I didn't think he wanted to recreate her pa- wait...
She didn't think this while having tea with the goddess, but she subconsciously believed that she was going to send her directly as a daughter of some Archnoble, perhaps even as Karstedt's sister or half-sister to be close to Georgine. Why complicate her life by having to start as a commoner? Was it for her entertainment? Shit, she didn't even know if she could enter the Temple now, much less being a Blue Shrine Maiden, the only reason Myne was able to do so was because of the lack of Mana caused by the purge, however right now there is no war to help her.
Her thoughts were interrupted when Benno sat down beside her holding Corinna asking how she felt, when she said fine, her now brother seemed relieved, he stroked her hair just like his mother while he apologised that they hadn't been able to go to the forest, saying that he had a lot of duties as a Merchant Apprentice, and that he had to try harder if he wanted to help her in the future when she inherited the company, when she was going to ask about his apprenticeship, the door opened again, this time in a resounding way, revealing a girl with reddish-brown hair and blue eyes jokingly asking Benno if he had gone to hide from her, he seemed to take it seriously because he stood up to refute her argument, in a very strange way they reminded me of Tomoe and Nanami, they continued like that for a while until she asked them to lower the volume because her head still hurt.
The girl apologised and approached her ignoring Benno's complaints:
“Benno won’t let me get close because he says I’m a bad influence. I’m glad to finally meet you, Gelass.”
Gelass… then Chaocipher did turn her into her own character, it makes more sense that she was a commoner, because in her original story, Gelass or Gelassenheit was the daughter of a princess and a Priest of the temple of Abraxas, despite her fragile constitution the princess had her, but for fear that her family would find out, she sent her to the temple with her lover to be a Priestess, but seeing that the girl was also in poor health and looked too much like the two of them, he thought it was best to leave her in an orphanage so that no one would discover her origins, soon after she was adopted and for various reasons and circumstances, her parents wanted her back and she ended up burning down the castle… the usual.
But she decided to put that off until she was better and focused on Liz (confirmed by Benno's screams), she was, truth be told, just as loud as Tamaki Souh, and seemed just as dramatic as him, they talked for a while about how on their next day off and as soon as she recovered, they would take her to the forest to see the lake, ignoring Benno's complaints saying that he wouldn't leave his sister like a crazy person like her.
After a while of talking, the two apprentices left with the baby, letting the little girl rest. If you could call it rest, with the fact that she had to remember all the steps of Compression, just remembering the liquid evaporating wasn't much use, let's see... Pack, Fold, Flatten and Condense... she could immediately feel the heat from her body disappear and this time she could sit up straight and look at the room, with colorful tapestries decorating the walls, just like in the anime, and she could have better hygiene, she just had to create the Rinsham and other products for her dry skin, it seems she won't be able to escape that curse even by changing bodies.
Luckily for her, she had an ace up her sleeve.
While Urano was an avid reader, Gelass was a writer with too much curiosity, ADHD and best of all, photographic memory. Once a friend of hers had called her “Jack of all traits, Ace of none” basically meaning that she has knowledge of many things, but not an expert in most of them and her mind ends up being a mess sometimes. She liked to describe it as SpongeBob's mental office, everything organised but when looking for something specific that she hasn't used in years she ends up setting it on fire if she doesn't find it in less than ten minutes.
It took a week for her to finally be able to move around on her own, but she was able to learn a lot of things in that time, including that she was in fact three years old, and her parents are Rust, Gilberta's owner and Levi who takes care of the business, her older brother is Benno, who was currently 10 years old, as was Liz, and her younger sister is Corinna. It was now mid-summer and it seemed the Star Festival hadn't happened yet, so she tried to convince her parents to give her permission to go to the forest with Benno and Liz, saying that she was curious to see beyond the city, but they weren't sure because of her weak constitution, if it hadn't been for Liz she probably wouldn't have been able to even get out of her bed, she promised that Benno would carry her the whole way and that they would just sit near the river, although perhaps her puppy eyes helped her.
When she went out into the city, the smell didn't hit her as hard as she expected, to tell the truth it smelled the same as the manure they put in the gardens of the town she lived in during her adolescence, although the further south they went, the more noticeable the smell was, that did bother her a little, but nothing she couldn't stand, and to her surprise she thought she recognised a much younger Gunther, curiously enough he looked a lot like Myne.
When they got to the forest Benno ordered her to simply sit on a rock next to the river and not try to go out there alone, she accepted without problem and while he was talking to Liz, she distracted herself by drawing in the sand with a stick, she really missed the music and being able to listen to it whenever she wanted, but the sound of the water and the wind in the leaves actually relaxed her a lot. After a while, she heard something moving through the water, and that's when she saw a white kitten swimming across the lake from one shore to the other... or rather trying to swim, it was so small that the current was dragging it, so she decided to help it, she took off her shoes and socks and walked into the water not caring that her skirt got wet, she grabbed it carefully, trying to keep it from falling as it was writhing, she simply carried it to where she wanted to go, seeing how it was shaking, she took off the vest she was wearing to dry it, but then Benno shouted her name and pulled her away from the cat.
She explained the situation, saying that the poor thing was drowning and that she wanted to dry it off, Benno then scolded her saying that the thing was a baby Zantze and that it was dangerous to approach them, Liz arrived shortly after and that was when another Zantze arrived, being larger, the size of an average adult cat. It was on guard as was its older brother, who held her protectively. Then the larger Zantse approached the smaller one and began to lick it, Liz said that it was probably the mother and thought that they were going to hurt it, but when they didn't attack, she simply decided to concentrate on her baby, after licking it, her gaze was fixed on the younger one for what seemed like an eternity, until she finally bit her baby by the neck and took it deep into the forest.
Both apprentice merchants fell to the ground from how relieved they were to not have to deal with the Zantze, and Gelass could feel what it was like to receive Benno's "Thunder", including his brother's knuckles to the head, she could swear that smoke came out until he let go.
“Don't you have any pity for your poor, sickly sister?”
“If you were so sick, you wouldn't give me these scares! You haven't even been out for a day!”
Not even Liz could save her, but she was able to convince him to stay a little longer to calm her down. When he was about to say that he was okay, he could see how Liz began to breathe heavily and Benno approached her to support her against a tree.
The Devouring. When she woke up she didn't remember that Liz died at 13 because of that, she needed to help her, trying as much as possible to pretend not to know what was happening, she told the girl how to Compress, at least the first step not knowing if she could bear the four at once. Thank goodness it worked, the brunette could feel a huge difference, commenting that she imagined a flame and then wet it, normally it worked for her, but this one felt better, obviously she asked her how that came to her mind and she simply told her that she imagined the same thing a few weeks ago and that it simply worked. In the end they stayed for a while, while she felt guilty for having scared the girl and caused her fever, so she took advantage of her childish appearance and looked for flowers to give her as an apology, and looked for plants that she could use for the Rinsham, she even found a couple of avocado-shaped fruits and to her happiness, a Cempasúchil flower, her favourite flower in her past life, she wanted to give them to Liz, but she remembered that her mother told her that giving an Cempasúchil meant that you wanted that person to meet their loved ones on the other side... that is, to die soon. She wasn't sure if that was true, somewhere she read that they had that meaning when that flower was given on the Day of the Dead, but it also seemed a little bad taste to give it to someone with a chronic illness... to be on the safe side she decided to pick some flowers that looked like daisies, when she gave them to the apprentice, she got excited and gave her a hug.
“Oh~ Gelass~, how about you come with me after I finish my apprenticeship? I promise I’ll treat you better than Benno.”
“Stop trying to steal my sister! Are you sure you’re sick or just crazy?”
They made fun of him for a while and then decided to go back, seeing that Gelass's skirt had dried and that Liz had recovered. On the way back they agreed that they would not tell their parents anything about what happened with the Zantze at the insistence of the redhead, and Benno agreed because he didn't want to worry his parents, they said goodbye to Liz and returned to their homes, where Gelass looked for what was necessary to make the Rinsham, passing it off as her just wanting to play.
When Rust arrived to scold her for making mischief, she noticed the pleasant smell of the liquid and asked what it was, the now little girl said that while they were in the forest she had heard Liz commenting that she would like to have something that smelled nice like a flower and that she thought that by using this it could work. Her mother was apparently very interested in the idea, so much so that she called her father and explained the situation, Levi started mumbling like Deku and asked his daughter how she planned on using it, she explained that she wanted to put it in her hair, because there wasn't really anything that would make hair smell good, but she was worried that her hair would get greasy from using the oil, she guided her parents to the answer of using hot water and Rust was the one who used the creation first, commenting how her head felt fresh and light and Levi… had the same expression as Otto with Corinna, he at least had the self control to let her mother clean her hair and put her to sleep, but she didn't think he would get any action that night, because her mother was already planning on how to produce the Rinsham on high quality and quantity to sell it.
“I guess the pursuit of monetary gain runs in the family… do commoners also call it “Seeking Winter”?”
She sat on her bed and couldn't help but feel a little guilty for taking Myne's ideas away, she tried to console herself by saying that she just wanted to live comfortably surrounded by books, and she didn't really want to have to invent all that, besides, she'll make it up to her by giving her a place in the Library she'll create, after all, she'll need a place to store all her Mangas.
Before going to sleep, she got out of bed and took the pose to pray: (N/A: Let me know if I made a mistake in how to write the names or that they are gods... Yurgenschmidt's mythology is complicated)
“I am one who offers prayer and gratitude to the gods who brought me here,
O mighty King and Queen of the endless skies, O mighty Eternal Five who rule the mortal realm,
O Goddess of Water, Flutrane and her subordinates, the Goddess of Healing, Heilschmerz, the Goddess of Childbirth Entrinduge, the Goddess of Sprouts Bluanfa, the Goddess of Lightning Verdränner, the Goddess of the Sea Verführmeer, the Goddess of Fortune Greifechan, the Goddess of Flowers Efflorelume.
O God of Fire, Leidenschaft and his subordinates the God of War Angriff, the God of Smithing Vulcanift, the God of Cultivation Anwachs, the God of Hunting Schlageziel, the God of Mountains Elbberg, the God of Passion Brennwärme, the God of Looking Far Sehweit, the God of Guidance Erwachlehren, the God of Trial Glücklität.
O Goddess of Wind Schutzaria and her subordinates the Goddess of Wisdom Mestionora, the Goddess of Art Kunstzeal, the Goddess of Time Dregarnuhr, the Goddess of Flying Ordoschnell, the Goddess of Gale Steiferise, the Goddess of Patience Duldsetzen, the Goddess of Partings Jugereise, the Goddess of Harvests Forsternte, the Goddess of Words Grammalatur, the Goddess of Weaving Ventuchte.
O Goddess of Earth, Geduldh. O God of Life Ewigeliebe and his subordinates the God of Alcohol Vantole, the God of Cooking Cuococalura, the God of Longevity Dauerleben, the God of Dreams Schlaftraum, the God of Blizzards Schneerst, the God of Treasure Beischmacht.
Oh~ Caocipher, Goddess of Chaos. Oh~ Erwaermen, Ancient God of Union and Guardian of the Garden of Beginnings.
Give me the strength and guidance to save your Garden and Protect the people I love.”
No bright light or anything came out, she wasn't even sure if her prayers would reach the gods since she didn't have a ring or was baptized, but she thought she remembered that a child with Devourer could have his own attribute through prayers and she didn't have Ferdinand to lend her his mana and be able to get the Grutrissheit... if she manages to get to the Academy...
She decided to give one last prayer to Schlaftraum as thanks for letting her see how the Mugiwara went to the Sky Island.

Chapter Text
As she had predicted, her mother was ready to ask her if it was okay for her to sell the Rinshan, she obviously said yes, but not before giving it to Liz as a thank you for taking her to the forest.
She told them what things she had, she discovered that here the Cempasúchil was called Goudsbloem (which made her laugh, because that was its name in Dutch) and that apparently its peculiar smell might not be popular with people because it was so strong, but she liked that, because it meant that it would be a smell only for her and her family. So she said that the Rinsham she wanted to give to Liz was made from the same flower she gave her yesterday, (which apparently were Gänseblümchen) she repeated the process of yesterday but with the Gänseblümchen and put it in a bottle, decorating it with a white ribbon made into a bow.
Her parents called Liz to come and the girl was wearing one of the flowers she gave her yesterday in her ear, she didn't expect that to feel so good and she promised to give her a thread bracelet so she would wear it all the time.
As soon as she saw Rust and Gelass's hair, Liz was surprised and began to flatter the two saying how shiny their hair was, caressing the girl's to discover that it was soft as silk and smelled like flowers, it was there that she gave her the bottle with Rinsham and explained how she did it to give it to her for taking care of her in the forest, which moved the brunette so much that she hugged her and rubbed her face against hers with happiness, without stopping to praise how tender she was. Liz was allowed to wash her hair right there and then and was very excited when she saw herself in the mirror and smelled her hair, noticing the scent of Gänseblümchen, she immediately put back on the flower that Gelass had given her yesterday… And for the convenience of the plot, Benno appeared right at that moment to ask his mother something, which he forgot about as soon as the apprentice in front of him looked so pretty, he was so red that he looked like a tomato.
“Who would say that hygiene is such a tremendous aphrodisiac?”
And as a good little sister, she started to pester him to give her a compliment, to her surprise he did, causing Liz to blush as well and Gelass to tease the two some more. It wasn't until Rust took pity on the two apprentices, (after laughing herself) that she stopped and let them get back to their work and she went with them to help Benno, leaving Gelass and Levi in the room with Corinna, he was the one who taught her how to read, write and numbers, one of the benefits of being born the daughter of a merchant, although they had plenty of breaks because he was also in charge of taking care of Corinna.
During one of those breaks, her father had asked her how she had come up with the idea for the Rimshamp and she had simply said that she had seen it during her dreams, as if someone had given her the idea and the clues and she had to do something with those clues to come up with the idea, Levi seemed a little skeptical of the idea but decided to let it pass as a little girl's fantasies, focusing on how she seemed to quickly learn numbers but not letters, but it was still very advanced for a 3 year old.
She actually expected it, in her past life she moved a lot for her father’s job and whenever she had to learn a new language, the thing she found most difficult was the alphabet, there was even a point where the adults around her wondered if she was dyslexic, but they never actually bothered to confirm it. Dutch, German, Katakana and Hiragana were her mortal enemies, causing her to subconsciously try harder with math, making her not exceptional, but definitely above average for her age, though maybe that’s why she didn’t have a hard time making custom patterns for fashion designs. (A/N: That’s the part I hate the most) Yurgenschmidt’s alphabet is practically those three alphabets fused together, with the sounds of Dutch and German while writing katakana-like symbols… or rather Latin? A and B are pretty similar in that language… the point is, it was pretty difficult for her, and she was a little worried about how she would do with the ancient language of the documents in the Underground Archives of the library at the Royal Academy… if by some miracle she managed to go.
When she finally finished her class, she took advantage of the fact that Levi was putting away the abacuses and scrolls to draw on her blackboard. She felt so good, she decided to draw the people who were now her family, Benno, Rust, Levi, Corinna, and even Liz, which caused her to think about the Devourer again. She could use the Taue fruits to take some of his mana away, but that's not a long-lasting solution, maybe get the low-quality Fairy Stones from the commoners, but to tell the truth she wasn't sure if it would work in the long run… as always, it all comes down to getting noble contacts… What the hell was Caocipher thinking when he sent her to Gilberta?
Although the truth is, she is grateful, he had a lot of fun with her family-
“Wow! What a nice drawing, Gelass”
She was startled when she heard her father right behind her, and before she could react, he took the board away from her so he could see the pictures better, causing her to blush. She never liked people seeing how she drew, and even less if she was drawing someone near her, it made her very nervous, so she covered her face in embarrassment, although her father only laughed and stroked her head saying that there was nothing wrong with drawing, to her surprise, her father said that her style wasn't bad, but that maybe it would be better to go for something more realistic... what she didn't know was if it was genuine or just his fatherly love... but at least he told her that she could keep the board to draw.
That's how her days as a Gelass passed, studying with her father, learning more advanced things with her mother, bothering Benno with Liz and playing with Corinna. At one point he made a bear with a piece of cloth and the technique that he did at least once a month in 5 minutes craft, the baby liked it and Rust is already looking for a way to sell it, but seeing that the ribbons don't last long, especially with how Corrina played with it, he had to forget the idea, too bad they don't have rubber bands, what is the name of the Fairy Plant? Mukan? Gumka? As she remembered in the Light Novels it doesn't specify where it is, if he was lucky it could be some forest nearby, and so he could also invent watercolors.
She missed them a lot, because they were her favourite type of art, well, before it was charcoal, but after the Remember me sequence in Arcane she got deep into that style to be able to recreate a fraction of the perfection of that masterpiece... Gods how she missed music. To the point that every time she went into automatic mode when doing a task, she would start humming and singing in languages of the earth, people around her just thought it was the babbling of a little girl, but at least they liked her melodies, in one of those moments with her father, she gave him clues for a music box, but she didn't have much hope of being able to have one soon...
The next problem, her skin was killing her.
Her dry skin was like a reptile's and she felt like she wanted to tear it off, her mother gave her a cream made with beeswax, but it was so hard that it only made her feel worse, the bad thing was that here she couldn't recreate her favorite cream, cocoa butter combined with oats and olive oil, she didn't know if there was an equivalent to each ingredient and if something like sugar cane was in Lanzenave, then most likely cocoa is there too, she thought she remembered that oats did exist here and the olive oil could perhaps be replaced with the same oil they used with Rinshamp, if she couldn't do what she wanted she would have to improvise.
The next time her mother was going to put the cream on her, she told her about her problem with the wax and when her mother told her that it was normally made with milk, (Which she didn't know if it was good, neither for her skin nor for the smell in the long run) she convinced her to try using Meryl's oil so that it wouldn't be so harsh, it was hard to find the exact amount to balance, but at least now she had a cream that actually moisturized her skin, and her mother had a recipe to sell to those who created the cream, win win.
A few days later, after a study session with her father, her mother was working on a dress for a noblewoman and another for a friend, since the Star Festival was near and that meant that there were going to be weddings for both the Nobles and the commoners.
She hadn't thought about it until now, but she could notice the fabric in front of her for the commoner dress was made of tie-dye fabric, while the noble dress was made of solid fabric. She asked her mother why the fabrics looked different, and her mother explained that they were dyed differently. The commoner dress was from a friend of hers, who received it from her mother and that was why it was made of a different fabric. The adult confessed that she thought the gradient was prettier, but that because of a noble from another Duchy, where solid fabric was the norm, it lost popularity.
For a moment Gelass thought about the Jasper Water dye, but decided to save that technique for when she entered the nobility, so she just recommended to her mother a trick to adjust her friend's dress and add some embroidered stars on the noble's chest for added decoration, Rust loved the idea and decided to consult with her client, who turned out to be an Archnoble named Ophelia, Gelass was a little surprised, because she was pretty sure that Gilberta didn't have clients of such high status until Rozemyne appeared, but perhaps they lost those connections with Levi's death and Benno was focused on taking care of Corinna and that the store didn't go bankrupt.
Something that surprised her a little was that in Yurgenschmidt there was no cross-hand embroidery, so she drew an example to her mother on the board that her father gave her and said that it could be a kind of signature for the company, it was there that her mother asked her how she came up with that and she answered:
"I saw it in a dream"
Of course she didn't fully convince her, but at least she accepted it for now, and as a reward she gave her more chalk to draw on, YAHOO!
To help Liz with her Devourer with the Taus, she decided to manipulate convince her family into letting her go to the forest before the Star Festival to recollect Taues, making bracelets out of threads for each of them, although she was better at those with small rubber bands. She simply made bracelets with some rhombuses on each one, with colors that matched the eyes and hair of each one, of course including Liz, everyone was very happy about her gift, but not with the fact that she only gave it to them and that she didn't want to sell it to more people, she wanted it to be something just for her family, that won her points and when she mentioned that Liz was practically Benno's girlfriend she won over her parents, but she had to receive the thunder of a very blushing Benno.
The good thing is that now she was able to go to the forest, although for some reason her father also went with them, when they arrived there were already people collecting Taues for the Festival and this time she was carried by Liz and they went around the place to see while the older one explained to her what the ceremony was and why the fruits were thrown, it was then that they found the Zantze from last time, she could recognise it because its face was literally the definition of ':3' and its eyes were red.
Liz was scared to see it, but Gelass just stared at her. She tilted her head to one side, the Zantze imitated her, tilted it to the other, imitated her again, the girl knelt down and extended her hand to the animal so that it could smell her, which it did, but then attacked it as if it were its prey, which caused her to laugh a little because the kitten's bite was not strong enough to hurt her, in fact it tickled her. She couldn't help but remember the kitten she had in her other life, an orange cat she called Aslan, she was sure her friends would take care of him, but she couldn't help but miss him, that cat that was by her side for so long that she didn't know what she would have done in her other life without him and now this Zantze... this kitten, bit her and kicked her with his his legs just like Aslan did the first time she saw him in that alley.
A tear fell into her trapped hand before she realized it and it was there that Liz reacted and went with her to get her away from the Zantze, even with the redhead's claims, she didn't want to get away from that animal that reminded her of her best friend, unfortunately the scare made the Zantze run away, and that made more tears come out of the Gelass's eyes.
Tears full of mana...
Witch activated a Taue that she ended up stepping on when trying to chase the Zantze...

Chapter 4: Chapter 03: The Eyes Say More Than the Mouth.
Chapter Text
The branches wrapped around her so quickly that she couldn't even scream. It wasn't necessary because Liz did it for her, shouting for Benno and Levi, while announcing the presence of the Trombe. Two people who were harvesting came to her call and tried to help her, but as her tears kept falling, the Faerie Plant continued to feed on her mana, growing larger by the minute.
Although the knife and axe would help prevent the plant from suffocating her, it wouldn't be enough with all the magic they'd absorbed. She couldn't think of a way out; she was starting to run out of air; she didn't want the Trombe to spread... What could she do? Levi and Benno arrived at Liz's side. Her brother hugged the frightened girl, while her father ran after her... that was the last thing she saw before a branch covered her eyes.
“IT'S MY DAUGHTER WHO'S TRAPPED, I HAVE TO SAVE HER!”
“IF YOU GET CLOSER TO THAT TROMBE, YOU'LL DIE TOO!”
“Shit… I don't want Dad to get hurt…”
“EVERYONE GET OUT OF THE WAY!”
After that scream, one of the branches trapping her throat was cut, allowing her to breathe again, then the branch on her left arm was released, she attempted to pull the branch away from her eyes, but a huge hand stopped her.
“Don't move! If you keep moving, you'll only get trapped even more.”
She did as he ordered, little by little the branches untangled from her body, until she simply fell to the ground coughing and desperately looking for air, she could hear her father and brother in the distance, it didn't take long to feel Levi's arms around her, his tears falling on her head as he thanked the stranger over and over again.
“Thank you so much, sir. I don't know how to express my gratitude for your help.”
“…There's no need to express gratitude… I was just at the right place at the right time…”
With some difficulty, Gelass was able to move to see the man in front of her, although the sun was shining behind him, so she couldn't make out his features, she could only hear Levi talking to him trying to convince him to agree to go to Gilberta to offer something as a thank you gift, after a while her eyes adjusted to the light and in front of her she saw a man with a muscular build, which was undoubtedly carefully worked on, with some effort she could see that his hair and beard were a blond tending to brown, and his eyes were light blue... wait, that description-
“¡¿BONIFATIUS?!”
She almost screamed, had she not coughed at the sudden intake of air after having her airways obstructed by the thrombus, which was probably a good idea since only her father had grabbed her so she could breathe. To her surprise, the man who saved her still leaned over to give her water from his own leather bottle. It was only then that she got a good look, and without a doubt, it was the Archduke Candidate, Bonifatius. Right now, he looked like a combination of Karsted and his own portrait in the Graphic Novel Illustrations. What was he doing here? She had no fucking idea, but the truth was, she didn't care enough after having been close to death. What did catch her attention was his reaction to seeing her, specifically, his eyes.
No matter what mask someone wore, their eyes always showed what was inside their mind. It was one of the reasons why her friends on Earth never wanted to play poker with her. Right now, although Bonifatius seemed serious, his eyes showed a strange concern. He didn't think it was because of what had just happened. The guy was a good person, but he doubted he cared about what happened to a commoner girl who hadn't even been baptized. What was bothering him?
Gelass thanked him, and Levi offered to take him to Gilberta to give her a gift. To his surprise, Bonifatius only said he would think about it, didn't deny it outright, and simply grabbed a bag (probably containing some hunting loot) and headed down the same road.
Her father carried her all the way to Gilberta, while Benno helped Liz calm down. No one said a word... and that only made her feel more like shit, her friend only wanted to protect her from what she saw as a wild animal, and her tantrum alone triggered a Trombe. In the end, her idea not only proved to be a failure, but also very naive, from reading so much about how Rozemyne grew that thing for her paper, she forgot that it was still a Fey plant, which could become very dangerous if left unattended.
The only way she could think of to reward her was by telling them she wanted to use the stones that fell from the animals to calm her and Liz's fever. Obviously, they ignored her, demanding that she explain why she thought it would work, but she was so tired that she simply decided to tell part truth, part lie.
“In a dream… the gods told me”
Then she fainted.
When she woke up, she was in bed with Rust beside her, holding something in her hands. But the fever in her body didn't allow her to think or see clearly. She could only apologize over and over for what had happened. Her mother told her to rest, playing with what she was holding, and as she began to lose consciousness again, she felt something cold hit her forehead.
The next time she woke up, it was nighttime, and there was no one beside her, just a fey stone on her forehead and a bowl containing the Golden Dust. They listened to her... that meant she would have to tell them the truth. She was prepared for that, but she didn't expect to feel so much affection for her parents and siblings. She had to expect it. These people raised her and loved her. She hadn't felt that way in her previous world for years. She took a deep breath and decided she would accept whatever decision they made, whether they left her in the orphanage or burned her at the stake. If it was the latter, she would do like Myne and let the Devourer… devour her, excuse the redundancy.
She stayed awake until dawn and her father, Levi, came in with a smile, but a certain melancholy and concern could be seen in his eyes. He only asked how she was and if she was hungry.
“Can I eat with all of you?”
“…Of course, dear…”
Her eyes lit up a little, she gave her a big hug, and carried her to the table, where Benno and Rust were waiting for them, carrying Corrina. They were sitting there waiting for them, smiling as if nothing had happened... No, more like smiling as if they hoped nothing bad had happened, and she couldn't blame them. They ate in a silence that was surprisingly comfortable, interrupted only by the sounds of Baby Corrina being fed. It wasn't until she made sure everyone had finished their food that she decided it was a good time to start a conversation.
"Is Liz okay?"
"Yeah... she's calmer, and... the stones helped with her fever."
She sighed with relief at that. If she didn't make it through this, she just hoped Liz and Benno could be together.
"Dad... Mom... Benno... I have to tell you something..."
There was no point in delaying the inevitable, but she couldn't help but feel a little afraid.
She never raised her head. She told them how, a few months ago, she'd begun having dreams about a strange world from the perspective of an adult, and how it was there that she acquired the inventions she'd created. She explained how, upon dying, the Gods ordered her to help Yurgenshmit and, in return, explained how to survive the Devouring.
A great silence filled the room. Gelass didn't dare look up from her skirt. She felt tears welling up and closed her eyes to try to stop them from spilling, but it was impossible. Her sobs were uncontrollable. She kept asking for forgiveness for having put them in this situation, that she understood they didn't want her there anymore, and that she would leave if they asked her to. She tried to wipe her tears with her sleeves, so she didn't notice Benno standing behind her. When she did, it was too late...
Because Benno attacked her with his "Thunder."
“If I didn’t want you here, I would have let Liz take you!”
He told her that no matter what happened or what the gods said, she would always be her sister and ordered her to never say such a stupid thing again, which caused even more tears from her, although perhaps it was the pain of the Thunder. But to her concern, her parents kept looking at each other, as if they were hiding something, in both of their eyes she saw a strange guilt that she couldn't understand, for a moment she was scared that they wouldn't accept her, but then Levi took Rust's hand and gave him a pleading look that she couldn't resist, Rust looked at the two siblings with a melancholy look.
“Maybe there’s a reason the gods chose you…”
Rust and Levi explained how they had found Gelass in an alley one winter night. The poor girl was crying and had a terrible fever, so they took her with them, also thinking about the baby they had recently lost. When they unwrapped her, they discovered a letter between them, explaining that the girl was the daughter of a very high-ranking noblewoman, but that she couldn't care for her. So she asked someone she trusted to take her to protect her, giving her a handkerchief with an embroidery that would prove her family.
As she told the story, she handed the handkerchief to Gelass, who was now sitting on Benno's lap, and unfolded it, revealing a three-headed lion and a white swan... or, as they called it in Haldenzel, Wittezwaan.
Levi then explained how using a favor Gustav owed him, he discovered that the lion represented the Archducal Family of Ehrenfest and the Wittezwaan were associated with the Giebe's family of Haldenzel, but they never tried to find out who her parents were specifically, because they had already grown fond of her, in an act of gratitude for allowing them to take care of her, they let her keep her name, Gelassenheit…
“The gods want you to return to your blood family.”
“But you will always be part of Gilberto and our daughter.”
She could see in her parents' and brother's eyes, even in Corinna's, that what they were saying was true. With that, she became a mess. She tried to thank them for loving her so much, but only babble came out through her tears. Benno mocked her by saying that she would always be his crybaby sister. It ended with a hug and the redhead promising that no matter what happened, she would do everything possible so they could be together.
After calming down, she couldn't help but wonder if Chaocipher was making fun of her. Not only did she transform her into her character, but she also gave her her past, which scared her of the future.
The daughter of the forbidden love of a princess and a Priest of the Temple of Abraxas, she was abandoned to avoid a scandal, but due to political issues, they needed an heir and basically kidnapped her from the only family she had. When she tried to run away, the royal family ordered the merchants who had raised her to be killed, and in revenge, she burned down the castle.
If the first part is true, then it means her mother is Irmhilde, the only direct descendant of the previous Archduke… As far as she knew, at least that Archduke had more than one wife, and she knew that Ferdinand had brought an older relative to his graduation. Hopefully, she won't have too much trouble with this. The confusing thing was undoubtedly the swan. If she remembered correctly, it wasn't common for an Archducal family to give their child to the temple; they would rather ask a trusted Assistant to baptize him into their family. Although, given the situation at the temple due to Veronica, she wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to fight it with children who were "useless." If for some reason they came looking for her, she would be forced to leave her family like Myne, and they would definitely kill them if necessary… She would pray to Schutzaria to help her protect her Geduldh… although now she feels like Ewigeliebe…
