Chapter Text

"Hello, may I help you?" with smile illustrates on his face, Sunny greets the customer in front of him. As a bank teller, a good customer service is mandatory for him. Despite some of them were rude, loud, arrogant or flirty he has to entertain each one of them. He was thankful when he encounter a non-karen person because its tiring to him. 

The customer smile at him, as he explains his problem while Sunny listen attentively on the old man's explanation. Then he skillfully handle the problem with ease. It is always a pattern of problem, so he had enough knowledge to settle a problem that require almost identical solution. When it comes to bank, it is either the system or the internet coverage are the main problem. 

"Thank you so much, pretty boy." The old man fondly thanks Sunny as the man beam in joy. He loves compliment, especially when it comes from older person or young kids because he knows they were sincere.

"Sunny? You can take recess, I'll handle the counter with Winie." A middle aged woman, Susan encourage the pretty Sunny to has his recess beforehand. With a nod, Sunny takes his belonging and stand up.

"Alright, I'll have my lunch at the cafeteria. If you need me, just call me." Sunny said as Susan smile at him fondly.

Sunny, a 20 years old man who had no one in his life anymore felt so much ease with Susan and Winie as his senior. They were nice towards him or maybe he just felt nice in general when someone greet him. He never finish school as he stop went to school when he was 10 years old after he lost both of his parents on an accident. As he had only grandfather who take a good care of him until he was 17 years old he had to quit study because his grandfather was sick and he died three weeks after that due to old age.

Since then, he just had to leave the place and find a job that accept a 17 years old. He works as part timer in convenience store and that's where he met Hevan who is five years older than him. The older man can't keep his eyes on the pretty boy, so he often visit the convenience store to meet Sunny. After awhile, they exchange number and frequently went out together. 

Hevan is a nice friend for Sunny as he never had a friend since he was young. The older man likes to treat him food and take him to a nice place that he dreamed for. Sunny is grateful to know the older man. And the feelings begin to grow to a feeling that Sunny kept for some time until one day Hevan is the one who confess his feelings to the younger man. Sunny was contented when their feelings are mutual, waste no time to give the man a soft peck on his lip. Hevan return the kiss hungrily, cupping Sunny's cheeks to devour the plump lip with his. 

"I love you, Sun....." he whispered in between. Sunny lose his first kiss to Hevan. Though they get heat up with the makeout session, Hevan gather his strength to stop going further as Sunny was only 17 years old.

"I want my first to be yours..." Sunny confess, lay his head on top of Hevan's chest who hug his waist tightly. Hevan nod his head, place a peck on the younger's head.

The sex was intense, with Sunny has his body lay naked in the middle of the bed. Sweats from both of them stick to Sunny's body as a filled condom stuck in Sunny's hole. He was shaking from the intercourse, catching up his erratic breath with eye closed. Hevan put on his bathrobe before he place a kiss on Sunny’s forehead, caressing the younger hair affectionately. Today is Sunny’s birthday, hence Hevan make birthday surprise for only two of them. He booked a hotel for them to celebrate Sunny’s 18th birthday and he confess to Sunny properly as he asks him to be his boyfriend which the younger agreed, hugging the handsome man in joy.

The sex was sloppy as it was Sunny’s first time but Hevan calmly teach him and dominate him easily. Sunny was beyond gorgeous, the way he writhe underneath the handsome man was more than anything Hevan could ask. 

Two years passed, as Hevan's existence is a figure that never left Sunny. They would spend their time together after Hevan finished his work or when it was Sunny's rest day. They went to a cinema date, amusement park and do all of the activities that a pair of lover would do. 

"Baby…I have a job offer for you. My bank was looking for a new bank teller in a front desk, the opted for someone young and cheerful. I was immediately thought about you when the description was mentioned. And I think it was great for us, so I can oversee you closely.” Hevan explained, playing with Sunny’s soft hair. The smaller squirm under the blanket when Hevan pull him closed as their naked body attached to each other. Sunny know that Hevan is a worker in JW Banking as he find out during their flights to this island when Sunny suddenly ask what he do for life. 

“Sure!” Sunny beam happily, he likes the idea of stay close to his lover. 

That’s explain how Sunny able to landed his job as a bank teller in JW Banking. He and Hevan would spend their lunch together outside or just in Hevan’s car. Though this past weeks, Hevan is so busy with his works and it’s been so long since the last time they had meal together, but Hevan will make time to see his lover after works. They will spend their time on Hevan’s apartment or just random hotel.

But eventually, Hevan get even busier as the bank introduce new system so the handsome man has to do overtime. Today is the second weeks they haven’t met each other and it makes Sunny sad. Their text gets dryer and Hevan often left him in seen. 

One day, Sunny receive an unknown text from someone who asks him to go to Ballerine Restaurant at 8 pm. He was hesitant to went there but he made up his minds as he was thinking it was something important. Sunny clock out his shift, take a cab to his rental room to get ready. After taking a shower and get nicely dressed, he take a bus to reach the restaurant. 

The restaurant is lavish, with bright lights beaming the entire building as he makes an entrance.

Sunny told the waiter that he has an appointment with someone with table number 11, so

the waiter lead him to a private room that has a pretty woman with dark hair and red lip. She was smiling at Sunny who bow to the female as she tuck her hair behind her ear. 

"Good evening. My name is Cheryl. You must have confuse why did someone unknown text you and want to meet you." The woman said, then the smily face went serious as she stare intensely. Before Sunny could speak, a familiar voice greet them as he turns his head to the source.

"Sunny?" Hevan's expression was surprised, he looks at both of them scared. The woman smile smugly as she stand up and walks towards Hevan.

"Do you want to know who Hevan is, Sunny?" The woman trail her fingers on Hevan's shocked face. Sunny can feel his heart beat in distress, he stands in front both of them and looks at Hevan in disappointment.

"Who are you, miss? Who is she, Van?" Sunny ask, tears begin to pool on his iris. Then, Cheryl kiss Hevan's lip as she devour the thin mouth with her red lip, the younger push both of them in anger as he cried. Hevan grab Sunny's wrist as he pull them away.

"Sun, listen-"

"I am his fiancee!! I am his future wife.." The woman shout, Sunny fall into his knee as he sob in his palm. So, Hevan cheat her with himself, Sunny thought. 

"I was right all of this time when Hevan no longer spend time with me and take me to date as he used to. I thought he has new woman but this time it was you. He was hiding you for two years!!!!!" Cheryl yell, push Sunny's body even more, Hevan try to stop the angry woman but only earn a slap from the woman.

"You!! What is my fault? What have I done that you cheating on me with him? A fucking man!! How you dare!! Does he has a better body? A better sex drive? That you crawl to him every fucking night, then when you get bored, you look for me again. Oh and Sunny, this few weeks when he was so busy is because he spend his night with me, fuck me!!" Cheryl explained like a madman. Sunny was beyond devastated, he felt his head spinning around with the information dump to him.

“I want to break this engagement, Hevan. I had enough of this. This is the third time and I’m sick of this shit!” Cheryl wants to get out but was stop by Hevan who hug her.

“Please baby…He meant nothing to me. I promise. He is the one who seduce me. He was only 20 years old and I only want to help him but he seduce me with himself. I swear, baby.” Sunny’s tears went out even more with Hevan’s words. 

“That even more sick. You fuck him right away when he was 18 years old???? Do you think I don’t know? Fuck you Hevan, fuck you!” Cheryl push the man before she left.

“Sun-“

“I hate you so much, don’t ever show your face in front of me.” Sunny said before he left the man.

Sunny run to his apartment with heavy heart, it was so painful. After all the sacrifice he made for Hevan, only for the older man to used it like a toy. He felt disgusting to ever loves the man. He even gives the man his body as a sign of love when he turns 18. He hates everything about the man. Sunny shut his door and fall to his knee, wail loudly. He can feel his heart squeeze tightly as he continue to cry. The night went by with cold breeze and broken heart.

Chapter Text

Sunny was distracted to do his works, he gets yelled by a customer who he mistakenly assist the young man. His head is dizzy but he endures the curses as Susan manages the customer while Winie gently massage Sunny’s back and it makes the younger cry suddenly. When Susan arrive, she was surprised seeing the already sobbed man in Winie’s arm. 

During lunch, all three of them rest together as it was a new ruled to closed the counter during lunchtime. So Susan ask on what had happen to the always cheerful man but Sunny didn’t want to share his burden. 

“I want to quit, Susan, Winie.” Sunny said suddenly, both of the woman obviously shock with the decision.

“Don’t take me wrong, I love this place but I have a lot of stuff to do. So I will leave next week. I already gave my resignation letter to HR. I appreciate both of you so much, you guys are the only friend I had in this workplace. Thank you.” Sunny hug both of them as he sobbed again.

Sunny pack his bags and his belongings which not even that much as he had nothing to begin with. Sunny made up his mind to leave the city and reside to the urban area as he lokks for a cheap place and he found an offer that fit his budget. He receives the text from the owner of the place and asks him to met him nearby the location. He takes his phone and block Hevan’s number who had been calling him since last week. Then he takes the bus to his destination.

After 6 hours, he finally arrive the location and he was greet by a pair of old couple. They welcome Sunny with warm smile as they show him around of the neighbourhood so it will make it easier for him to retrieve his grocery or anything he needs. Then they take him to a place that located abit far from the town that filled with tall trees. After almost 10 minutes, they arrive to a spacious field that has a white wood house as it makes Sunny wonder.

“Umm sir? Are you sure this is the place that I rent for? Because it’s exceed my expectation since I only pay for less.” The sunshine was stunned with the view of the house, it was big for only him and the scenery was breathtaking with a river located behind the house. It was perfect. 

“Yes son. We have this house for so long but don’t have enough time to refurbish or remodel it. My wife and I do not want this home to stay stray longer, so we decide to put it on a rent and thank god you was interested.” 

“Besides that, we can trust you to take care of the house as we have to go to our daughter wedding next week and most probably will be back three months later.” The wife smile, caressing Sunny’s back affectionately. Sunny was happy, he wants to start a new chapter and this is what he needs. With his savings from his salary, it was enough to rent the house for at least 2 years. He also apply for a job as writer despite the small salary, he at least manage to filled his savings with the amount.

“Sure, thank you so much for this opportunity. I am truly grateful for both of you. I pray for a safe journey to your daughter’s wedding and congratulation for both of you.” Sunny said while the older woman engulf him with a warm hug before they leave Sunny to his comfort.

Sunny steps in like a beam of sunlight streaming through the roof, his presence, like the first light of morning, fills the room with warmth and clarity, Sunny excited to start his fresh beginning. He declutter his baggage and boxes to place his belonging according to his aesthetic. Then, he lit up the lights to illuminate the dark space so he could appreciate the room even more. With pumpkin scent radiating the whole house, Sunny turn on his playlist to accompany him while he does the cleaning. He replaced his bedsheet and arrange the room which located upstair and he design it according to his style, didn’t forget to hook a string of light on his curtains. As he is busy doing his room, he heard a loud knock from the living area which startled him a bit but he ignores the noise. But after another loud knock, he put down his bag and walk downstair.

Hello?" He called warily, afraid of some stranger interrupting him. He also didn't forget to take a pepper spray with him as he went downstair. He still considering his own safety above everything, hence the particle of pepper might be a beneficial for him.

“Hello? If somebody is here, I just want to inform you that this is not a place that you could trespass carelessly. I’ll have my brother down here, so before you had any weird idea, you better surrender.” Sunny speak cautiously, he takes a step by step towards the living room and to the kitchen but he saw no one there. But then another knock be able to frighten Sunny as he walks to the source of the sound. He enter a room that purposely closed that had wallpaper paint on it. Despite the obvious wallpaper, he still can see a small door knob before he try to place his ear on the wall. Dug! Another thump was heard but now it was clearly from the room.

Sunny bravely try to open the room as he pulled the door knob with all of his strength. With another force, the door finally break open with a dark and cold room greeting him. Sunny run upstairs to retrieve his phone and went to the room back as he switch on his flashlight to explore the new space he obtain. The room was small but spacious enough for a queen bed to fit inside. Then, he decides to decorate the room as his workspace as it was suitable for him to focus on his job.

As the night illuminate the house, Sunny sip his warm hot chocolate to warmth his body. He embraces the cold breeze, stare at the big trees in front of him and the sound of river. For others, it might a scary thing as the house located 500 metres from the neighbourhood and it was the only house in the middle of the jungle but to Sunny, this is the peace he is dying for. When it gets colder, Sunny decides to step inside and lock the main door before he walks to the new room he had discovered. The only things left for the room to be a perfect workspace was a table for him to place his laptop. So, he takes his laptop and place it on his lap to start his job.

Sunny had never wants to be a serious writer but when he gets an offer to write a plot for a story, he thoughts it was a new chapter for him to open a new book of his life. When the sudden rush of idea strike him, Sunny quickly store his idea in his notebook and expand it with his imagination. It takes him three hours to finish half of the plot of the story before he crack his tired neck and place the laptop on the ground.

“I wish I had a mint chocolate now..” he sigh deeply, then the room makes a buzzing noise with the room light blinking which makes the sunshine startled. Once the light went normal, Sunny was surprised to see a bowl of mint chocolate ice cream in front of him as he stand up.

“Ehh….What is this?” He monologue, he cautiously pick up the bowl of ice cream and scoop it. Is he day dreaming? Sunny thought. Then he brings the ice cream to his mouth and savour the mint chocolate flavour as he beam in joy.

“It is mint choco ice cream!” Sunny said happily as he finish the ice cream. Then, he try one more time to prove it that he wasn’t hallucinating. He wish for a bottle of vodka, just because he was curious with the taste of the liquor. Then the room light blinks once again and a fresh bottle of vodka was placed in front of him. Sunny stump his feet happily as he reach for the bottle and pour it in small glass. Before he knew, he gulp the bitter liquid as it burns his throat in pleasure.

“Ackkhh, it taste weird…” he said to himself, then he try it again until the forth cup before he gets drunk. With flushed face, Sunny giggle.

“Ssooo..thissss rrooom hh have magicccc. IIII can wiishh for eve everyyything-“ then he passed out on the soft pillow, a light snore accompany his night that might have changes his life forever…

Chapter Text

The alarm from his phone wake him up as a luminosity from the sun hitting Sunny’s face. He rub his eyes to keep him awake, stretch his tired body before an empty bowl and a bottle of vodka made his eyes wide open. 

“It wasn’t a dream??” He muttered aloud, he reach for the vodka and taste it one more time before he spit it back. 

“The taste still bitter as yesterday..” 

“Hmmm..” with pout, Sunny smile as he develop an idea.

“I wish for an egg and bread..” after another blinks from the lamp, one egg and a book of bread was place nearby the vodka. Sunny smile brightly, picking up the ingredients to makes himself a breakfast. From that moment, the room would grant any wishes that Sunny would have yearned for.

“I wish for a bottle of new shampoo.”

“I wish for a new moisurizer."

“Room, I wish for new table.”

“I want a chandelier."

“I want new clothes."

“Ohhh I want a new bed.”

“I wish for a new laptop.”

“Hey room, I wish for a carpet.”

With loud music, banging inside the house, Sunny dance with joy as all of his wishes was fulfilled. Anything he asked for, the room will delivered..

But after few days, he couldn’t think of anything he wants as he asks for everything. Despite all of the material were displayed in fronts of him, the house was filled with luxurious

accessories, he can’t help but feel a deep emptiness lingered in his heart. In silence, with the sounds of owl accompany his another lonely night, Sunny felt his tears welling up not just from the sorrow but the feelings of getting everything but it never enough for him as his soul yearned for someone that will help to get rid of the void inside his heart. He reach for the bottle of liquor, sobbing up inside the room as he drink straight from the bottle to makes him forget about the emptiness he felt.

“After everything you gave, I still feel lonely. None of this stuff could heal me. I hate Hevan for doing this to me but I felt so grateful to not fall into his trap forever. But still I need someone to accompany me. To be with me.” with tears filled his hazel iris, Sunny laid his head on the soft pillow, surrendered his exhausted body as he succumb into the dizziness of sleep. In that moment, with rosy nose he makes a wish, hoping that the room is able to dissolve his burdens.

“Room? Can you grant me a presence that willing to share the silence of my solitude and let him be the one who brighten my day every moments" then he shuts his eyes off, fall into a deep sleep..

At 4 in the morning, the sky still enveloped in a deep, inky blackness, signaling that dawn had yet to break. Sunny, however, was jolted awake by a sound that pierced the quiet. He blinked and slowly opened his eyes, brushing away the dried tears from his cheeks, before fumbling to switch on his phone’s flashlight. Just as he did, another sudden noise from the kitchen startled him further, leaving him wide awake, frightened in his stance. 

“Hello?..” he called, voice softly whispered through the dark. He switch on the living area’s light so it will illuminate the space to avoid any fear that lingered in him. He strut his step towards the kitchen, tighten his hold on the pillow he had been holding.

"Hello? I-Is there someone in the kitchen?” he added, peeking through the kitchen curiously. His eyes widened in shock when he saw a man with naked chest buried his face on the kitchen table. Though in the room was shrouded in darkness, Sunny couldn’t take off his eyes from the muscular built. He bravely walks towards the stranger warily. 

"E-Excuse me, s-sir? Did b-by any chance you were mistaken for your house?” he asks, carefully approach the man. And before he could touch the man’s biceps, the man grab Sunny wrist softly as he looks at him with weak gaze.

“S-Sunny…I-I’m here..” after that the man faint in Sunny’s arm which the pretty boy caught him instantly.

“Sir! Sir!”

Sunny cooks a breakfast despite the unsettling situation he had early in the morning. He decides to move the stranger to his bedroom and makes him some food as his body drastically heat up when Sunny catch him. Sunny makes a tomato soup with scrambled egg and toast. He also brought along some medicine just in case the man awaken so he could give him. With tray in his hand, the sunshine walks towards his bedroom cautiously. Though the man is sick, it still didn’t change the fact that he is a stranger.

Once Sunny place the tray on the nightstand, he reached for the man’s forehead which was covered in damp clothes. But to his surprised, the man suddenly softly grasped his wrist as his eyes fluttered open, trying to adjust to sunlight. Sunny study the man’s face that assemble a feline with his sharp jawline. He has a perfect combination of soft and sharp features. 

The man seat up, rubbing his temple before his eyes wandered around the unfamiliar room. He didn’t understand what happened as he stop his gaze towards Sunny who is tilting his head and smile at him. He is beautiful, the man thought.

“Where am I? and who are you?” he asked, Sunny shake his head as he was confused as much as the man. 

“This is my home and I am sorry but I don’t know who you are. I saw you at my kitchen last night and you had fever. So, I move you to my bedroom so I could take care of you. I think it’s best for you to had food in your system and then you may take some medicines to decreased your body temperature.” 

“Any way, I am Sunny and I am 20 years old.” Sunny greeted the stranger with a radiant smile, one that seemed to fill the room with light, dispelling the lingering shadows of the night. In that moment, the man's heart stirred, as though the warmth of Sunny's kindness had sparked something profound deep within him.

"My name is Juan, I am 25 years old. Thank you Sunny for your kind accomodation. I barely remember anything.” Juan said, rubbing his dizzy head.

“It’s fine. You may stay at my home as long as you want. The owner of this house left an abundant amount of clothes that belongs to their late son. Let me grab it for you.” 

As Sunny hurried across the hall to the room opposite his bedroom, he was once again struck by the thought of Juan. He had wished for a companion the night before, and now, unexpectedly, Juan was here. An anxious unease gnawed at him as he bit his bottom lip, troubled by the implications of his own desires. *What if Juan belonged to someone else? A friend, a son, or a lover?* He quickly pushed the thoughts aside and focused on selecting a few clothes that might suit Juan, trying to quiet the lingering uncertainty in his mind.

“Thank you Sunny. I think my fever went down already. Let me help you to do something.” Juan said as he stand in front of the sunshine, he thoughts it was cute that Sunny is shorter than him by a few centimetre. 

“Are you sure? Because I might or might not tortured you with my house cause I don’t think I can complete them by my own.” Sunny said excitedly.

Juan watched Sunny with quiet fascination, his gaze fixed on the other's infectious enthusiasm. He was intrigued by how easily Sunny seemed to open up, effortlessly getting comfortable with someone he barely knew. It was an admirable quality, and far from being bothered by it, Juan found it surprisingly endearing. There was something about Sunny’s openness that felt... refreshing.

"Bring it on.." Juan smiled as they moved to the basements.

After four hours, they finally finish decorating the lowest room. Sunny lay his tired body on the ground while Juan already take off his shirt, breath heavily with the work they had done. Finally, the basement looks somewhat decent compared to the previous state. they manages to take off the peeled off paint and junks that were compiled in the room. With Juan’s help, they carried the rubbish upstairs to the living area before he returned to the basement to tackle the final bits of work.

"I'll take the trash outside, Juan. You can rest now." Sunny said, he then grab the bags and reach for the empty bottle of alcohol he had last week, so he could throw the altogether.

Sunny walks toward the dumpsters beside the huge tree and throw all of the rubbish inside. But then when he reached to discarded the bottle of vodka, something strange happened. Just as his fingers brushed its glass, the bottle disintegrated into sand, slipping through his grasp and scattering into the air, as if it had never existed at all. He stood frozen, watching the remnants of the bottle flew away with the wind, unable to comprehend the bizarre situation.

He was scared with the sudden event, so he run towards his house in fear. Accidentally bump into Juan’s hard chest, who is clearly worried about the sunshine.

“Hey…what happens? Are you alright, Sun?” Juan ask softly, he looks at outside try to find something strange and before he went out, Sunny grab his hand to prevent him from going out.

“It’s nothing! I just saw a snake, so I ran here. Are you done with the works? We can move on to the next room.” Sunny assure, smiling at the taller who still had worried expression on the sunshine but as he do not want any unnecessary panic, he smiled at the smaller, patting his soft hair.

“I’m done with the basement. I’ll finish up the upper room, you may get a bit of rest. You look pale.” Juan said, cupping Sunny’s flushed cheeks. Then he climb the stair with the toolbox, leaving Sunny who still anxious with the situation.

Once Juan leave Sunny and his thoughts, the smaller begin to wonder what had happened to the vodka bottle. It was as if it’s never exist in the first place as if it was….printed. Then Sunny run to the wish room and wish for money, as the room’s light blinked, a stack of money appear in his sight. Sunny grab the cash and run outside but nothing happened to the paper, neither dust nor any difference to the said wish. Then, Sunny remembered that the dumpsters was placed nearby the big tree 50 metre in front of him and with careful step, he walks towards the dumpster and throw the money away which then it turns into fine dust. The sunshine was shocked with the repeat situation as he conclude that everything he wish from shouldn’t left the house or precisely, the tree.

“Sun! Let’s eat. I cook you some food.” From the door, Juan was calling the sunshine’s name, awaken him in realisation who still wonder about the bizarre event. Sunny brightly smile at the handsome man as he nod his head, walks towards the house as he throw away all of the cash. He will keep the new information he obtained in secrecy..

Juan enjoy the view of Sunny devour his food excitedly with small smile, he loves the way the smaller man's cheeks would turn into a ball as he shove the food inside his mouth. It’s adorable. Although they’ve just met each other, Juan cannot denied the natural comfort he felt with Sunny as if he was made form 

Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, and with each passing moment, their bond grow deeper and stronger. Juan and Sunny cherished every moment together, enjoying the peaceful beauty of the house, nestled in the heart of the forest, with a river gently flowing behind. Juan no longer able to contain his overflow feelings towards Sunny as he wants to make him, his. 

While Sunny discover that, he able to take anything he wish for and place it anywhere along the path leading up to the large tree, anything beyond the tree will be dissipated and its another challenges for him to ensure Juan never step out from the tree..

Chapter Text

”Boo!!" Juan back hug Sunny who was busy picking up the already dry duvet from the clothesline, the smaller was startled but then he playfully elbowing the handsome man as he giggles. 

“You look so focus with the duvet, so cute.”

“Seems like the cloud getting dark, before this duvet get wet once gain I better pick up.” 

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to spill the sauce. I was too focused on the movie.” Juan pout, place his head on the smaller’s shoulder. Sunny chuckles on the man’s behaviour, gently caressing his hair before he put down the duvet into the basket as he turns his body towards Juan. The handsome man immediately place his arm around Sunny’s waist, smile fondly to the beautiful man in front of him.

“That’s okay…. Do you need anything?” Sunny ignore his heart that beat faster when Juan’s arm makes contact with his waist. He stares at Juan’s soft feature but sharp, his eyes remind him of a cat, he can’t help but blush when he realises that the man in front of him was wearing a sleeveless shirt, expose his muscular bicep which put a significance difference in between of them. Juan sees the sudden pink shade decorating Sunny’s cheek as he chuckles.

“Hmm… I think of dinner for both of us tonight at the forest and spent the night stargazing.
