Death can't do us part

Summary:

One would think that you couldn’t marry the dead. After all, if they even were still in this realm. It is impossible to communicate with them. That’s what everyone thought until one Hylian proved them all very, very, wrong. You see, Link loved Mipha very much. To a degree that even without memories he felt an unmatched warmth in his heart. So, as he was running about Hyrule freeing the divine beasts and doing other things. He kept an eye and ear out for anything that might help his dilemma, and a certain statue in Hateno noticed. Link left the statue that day 10,000 rupees shorter but with the knowledge of an ancient, dark ritual. So, when the night of the blood moon came, when dark magic was strongest, he cast it. While it didn’t need Mipha’s consent, her giving it anyway made the process a lot easier. They were bonded together by the ritual and now they could hear each other, see each other, touch each other once again. Unfortunately, there was the side effect of some of the dark magic clinging to the both of them, Mipha more than Link. While this had the downside of severely affecting how she acted, it also had the plus side of empowering her grace. Mipha’s Grace was now constantly active, and Link could not die.

Notes:

I am here to fulfil my obligations

This specific one has been sitting in my head for a long time now as while a good concept. It was hard to put into practice. However as always, I will be doing the best I can. (Also, I take yandere Mipha very seriously so expect her to act waaaay different.

Don't think I got much else to say so I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: Link's immortal whims

Chapter Text

It had been about two months since Link had performed the ritual from the bargainer statue, a dark ritual that allowed him to marry his true love, Mipha, and one since they had defeated Calamity Ganon. Already the dark magic of the calamity was beginning to fade, but that didn’t include what clung to Link and Mipha from the ritual. Link got away mostly ok, Zelda was able to purify most of it and what remained simply altered his behavior slightly to be more aggressive, and even that wasn’t much considering he was half feral. Mipha however, was not so lucky. Should any girl other than Zelda get within 5 feet of Link and Mipha would begin muttering about finding a way to kill someone as a spirit. She hated when anyone touched him, especially girls. The only people she had no problems with were her brother and father’s interactions with Link, physical or not, and she seemed to tolerate Zelda touching him as long as she didn’t make Link uncomfortable. Link found this behavior both terrifying and endearing. Mipha was very protective of him but couldn’t interact with anyone or anything but Link, so she settled for making him practically immortal instead.

Oh yeah, Link was immortal now. Ever since the ritual Mipha’s grace had been in overdrive. It did not matter the wound, as soon as he received it the wound would instantly heal within a fraction of a second, not even leaving a scar. The only proof he was hurt in the first place being the blood on whatever hurt him. While this made Link exceedingly reckless, he still tried not to get hit as doing so would set off Mipha. Mipha herself didn’t really care about Link getting hurt, mainly because her grace would heal him from even death in the span of a second. She cared more about making sure whatever had hurt Link received what was in her mind “righteous retribution.” In the two months they had been wed and bonded she had already learned two ways to use the dark magic that clung to her, although Link and Zelda were the only ones that even knew she now had dark magic. She could use it to empower Link or use it to send nearby monsters into a frenzy. Either way the monster died. Whether it was by Link’s hand or its own kind, she didn’t care. The only thing she cared about was her precious Link .

You see, the ritual was dark magic because it could forcibly bond two souls together. It said that it should be performed during a time of heightened dark magic. However, it also warned against doing so when you could physically feel the magic in the air, like a blood moon. It was right in the part that Link skipped over. So, it was natural that there was backlash in the form of the dark magic that now clings to them. While it did negatively impact their behavior it also had some positives. Enough positives to convince Zelda to not purge all of it. Link had perfect night vision and his already low need for sleep caused by the shrine got enhanced so he didn’t need any at all. Link could still sleep if he wanted to, but he hardly ever did. Why sleep when there are so many other things he could be doing. Mipha had all of her magic enhanced, although most of it was still not accessible to her due to being a spirit. Lastly, they were both highly sensitive to divinity and despite that fact they should be having a negative reaction to it. The dark magic had meshed with their own, becoming part of them making it so they could stand it. However, it was this sensitivity that led to both of their current confusion.

Link had been digging up a few mushrooms as Mipha floated around him when he felt it. A sudden spike in Hylia’s divinity before some sort of gateway opened up in the distance and unceremoniously dumped eight men onto the ground before vanishing. Hylia’s divinity only lingering a few seconds before vanishing with it. He quickly flipped up his cloak and went to investigate. While the chance these men where Yiga was incredibly low considering Link flipped the roles and was now hunting them . It was still better to be safe than sorry. As the men slowly got up and gathered themselves the man in full plate armor was the first to notice Link who was now crouched next to a tree. He saw the man’s hand twitch towards his sword for a moment. So, they wanted to fight? Link was more than happy to oblige. He quickly sprung to his feet placing both of his hands on his royal broadswords as Mipha, unseen by the living, bared her teeth, the threat clear.

The man put his hands up in a nonthreatening way as the others began to notice him. It looked like Link wouldn’t get to have his fun after all. “ Shame, I would have enjoyed watching you tear into these fools. ” Link thought the same thing, at least until the man? boy? with brown hair’s eyes suddenly widened and he drew his sword, pointing it at Link. Link let a grin cross his face but remember what Zelda had said about chances. So, he unsheathed his swords in return but remained still, giving them one last chance. A quick glance to his right revealed Mipha had a smile almost as large as his. “ These scum are quite brave. I'll give them that. ” Link nodded, ignoring the few confused looks he gained by doing so. The group seemed to finally properly notice his threat as hands came off sword hilts. Only the brown-haired boy still held his sword although he lowered it. “We don’t mean any harm,” the man with the wolf pelt said while another in some sort of white cape lightly smacked the brown-haired boy’s hand. “We are just a bit lost, would you be able to point us to the nearest town or village?” Link paused before speaking.

“Quite the method of travel.” Hyrule tried his best not to startle at the raspy sound of the stranger’s voice. He had felt the magic around them when they first came through the portal to try and place what era they were in only to be greeted by the reek of dark magic. On instinct he had drawn his sword and looked for the source, which was the cloaked figure now speaking to them. “Purple gateways huh, why don’t you tell me about those.” All of the chain flinched. This figure had seen them come out of the portal. It at least explained why they had already been ready to draw their swords when Hyrule looked at them. Sky smacked his hand again. Right, he still had his sword out. He went to put it away as Time and Twilight fumbled out an excuse. “You see… we use them to travel… very long distances, that’s all it is.”  Then the stranger said something that had Hyrule immediately drawing his sword again. “Felt a lot like dark magic, but like it was forced to be light instead.” Hyrule pointed his sword at the stranger. “Of course you would recognize dark magic.”

The strangers turned and locked eyes with Hyrule. He caught a glimpse of a smile under their cloak as they spoke, “quite perceptive of you, have a problem with me dabbling a little into it?” Hyrule looked at the cloaked stranger coldly and answered, “as a matter of fact I do.” Their smile grew, causing Hyrule’s grip to tighten. “Why don’t we settle this then? Feel free to invite the whole gang! However, I won’t blame you if you wish to do this one-on-one.” Hyrule felt the malicious intent of the stranger growing as the stranger bounced from foot to foot. He heard the rest of the chain drawing their swords. The stranger was completely unfazed, taunting him, “it’s up to yooooou.” The taunting seemed to set off Legend as he charged forward. Hyrule felt the malicious intent suddenly be accompanied by another feeling. Excitement. The stranger rushed forward to meet Legend halfway.

This spurred the rest of the chain into action, no one hearing Sky’s sudden yelp of pain. The stranger moved fast and erratically, making it difficult for any of them to surround them let alone hit them. After what seemed like forever, Time scored a blow that even he didn’t seem to intend as his sword plunged straight through the stranger's stomach. However, the stranger was unfazed as they kicked Time away and did something no one predicted. They sheathed their swords and drew the biggoron sword out of their stomach as the wound instantly healed before the chain's eyes. As they admired the blade they glanced back to Time as he got up, “nice sword. Mind if I keep it?” The entire chain had been shocked into silence and Hyrule wondered just who this person was.  “GUYS!” In the silence, Sky had finally been able to gain the attention of the chain. “The master sword shocked me when I tried to help the rest of you.” It was what finally made them all lower their blades, but before Sky could continue, they were interrupted by laughing. “Master sword! HAHAHAHA! Nice try but she’s safely resting in the lost woods. I checked myself yesterday.”

That all but confirmed it. This stranger, who clearly gave off dark magic and even admitted to using it, was the hero of this era, whatever era they were in. Sky drew the master sword causing Link’s? laughter to cease. They suddenly blurred forward quickly, disarming Sky and catching the master sword mid-air before examining it. The blade rapidly aged in their hands, shocking everyone as they stared at it intently. “Huh, I guess Zelda was right. I do shoot first and ask questions later.” He let out a small chuckle and held the master sword out back to Sky who quickly took it back. Link? then walked right up to Hyrule. “It looks like we WILL be settling this one-on-one, but not right now, gotta do introductions.” He then took a few steps away before turning to face the chain and speaking once more. “Well, I’m Link, Hero of the Wild,” they gesture to the empty air beside them, “and this is my wife Mipha, she’s a spirit hence why you can’t see her. The reason why both of us have dark magic is because of the ritual we used to get married. Any questions?” Hyrule had so many questions.

Chapter Text

Wind didn’t know what to think about the new Link and his supposed wife. She looked like one of the Zora from Twilight's Hyrule but was completely blinged out. As the chain started to bombard the new Link with questions Wind just watched Mipha. He was entranced by how she moved, almost constantly circling around her husband. She would gesture wildly the few times she spoke, something only Wind and Link could see and hear. Not to mention she spoke with an accent similar to Warrior’s Zelda. Perhaps strangest was how she would swipe at the chain when they got too close to Link despite them not seeing or being affected by her. She also always glared anytime Time was within her line of sight.

The new hero, Wild, did not give them much information despite the chain’s questioning. He succeeded in being more cryptic than Time which was an accomplishment in itself. Speaking of Time, the older hero being the only one who knew about Wind’s ability to see spirits, shot him a look that Wind immediately understood. Since Wild was a newer member of the chain, he would not be on any watch cycles for a while. A perfect time to talk to his ghostly love. After the few hours of questioning during which Wind had been watching them. He no longer had any doubts about them being affectionate. Warrior’s incredulous look when Mipha started playing with Wild’s hair was way too good. Maybe he could convince Mipha to help him with pranks. Only time would tell.

Finally, when everyone was asleep with Time on first watch Wind got up and went to where Wild lay. Mipha was gently stroking his hair and didn’t even look up when Wind sat down before speaking. “ You should make more of an effort to hide where you are looking, little one. I could feel you staring all day. ” Wind rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. Most of the time he was better at not starring. “Sorry if I made you uncomfortable.” Mipha was probably the best way to get information on Wild, so Wind needed to stay on her good side. He also had no intention of finding out if her swipes would hurt him. “ It is alright, little one. Although I would prefer if Time, as you call him, didn't eavesdrop on us. ” Wind looked at Time who was indeed watching Wind. “I don’t think he can hear us.” Luckily for Wind, Time got the hint and looked away.

If you think that then I will trust you. Although do tell him that if he ever harms my Link again, he will never know a night's rest. ” Wind had to keep himself from flinching. He knew the power spirits had to interfere with dreams and did not want to know what Mipha had in store. “Alright I’ll let him know. I have some questions if you don’t mind.” Wind waited, trying to contain his excitement. From what Wind had seen so far Wild was super cool. He had been able to take being stabbed straight through the stomach like it was nothing while constantly repealing the rest of the chain. Wind was shaken out of his thoughts by Mipha. “ I will grant you three. ” “How was Wild able to heal from being impaled?” Mipha shot another glare at Time, “ that was my doing. A while back I gave my Link my grace. A gift that would bring him back from the brink of death. When we were wed, it was strengthened to constantly heal him. ”

Wind made a mental note to bring that up to Hyrule as well. As the chain’s self-appointed healer, he would need to know this. “Why are you covered in so much jewelry? Can I get some? Where did you get it? How do you wear it if you are a spirit?” Wind was cut off by a soft giggle. “ I shall count that as one question. I have this much jewelry because I am a princess, so no you cannot get any. The reason why I am wearing it is because this is what I wore when I fell. ” Well, that killed Wind’s enthusiasm. “Wait, princess?” Mipha gave another small giggle, “ yes, princess. Now I believe you have one more question. Unless that was your last one? ” Wind shook his head and thought for a moment before remembering how Hyrule and Wild got off to a bad start. “Wild mentioned something about dark magic. Could you explain that?”

When my Link traded with that statue for that blessed ritual, I was skeptical at first. It called for being performed at a time of high dark magic. So when the night of the blood moon arrived, my Link performed it. During the process of our eternal bond forming some dark magic clung to us both and changed us according to Zelda. She purged what she could though. I will never forget that day, the day I found out what I was truly missing. ” Mipha gazed at Wild with a crazed glint in her eyes. As Wind slowly started backing up Mipha’s head shot up. “ You must understand I will do anything for my Link. I’ve been learning how to turn this supposed curse into a blessing for that specific purpose after all. So your fae friend would be wise to SHUT UP and keep his prejudice to himself. ” Wind raised his hands in surrender, while Hyrule being a Fae was news to him it did explain a lot. “I- I’ll make s- sure to let him know.” He then turned and almost ran to Time feeling Mipha’s stare burning into his back. He had no clue what caused her personality to suddenly flip like that. Wind glanced back to see her gazing at Wild slowly stroking his hair. He unconsciously let out a small sigh of relief.

“What happened?” Wind turned back to Time who was visibly concerned. Wind took a few moments to wrestle his fear into submission before speaking. “She was being all nice one moment, answering my questions, then the next she was going on about how she would do anything for Wild like she was crazy!” Time nodded along as Wind continued to rant. “She said she was a Zora princess and that she gave Wild a gift that made it so he was constantly healing. She called it ‘her grace’ and apparently it can bring him back from the brink of death. Also, she wanted me to tell you that if you hurt Wild again, you’ll quote ‘never know a night’s rest’.” Wind stopped to catch his breath. Time looked like Wind had just told him he killed his dog, which he would never do or even hurt Wolfie. “Did she mention anything else that might be useful?” Wind thought back to her response before her flip. “She said something about dark magic from something called a blood moon clinging to them, and that Zelda purged as much as she could.” Then again, she also said that Zelda said they changed. Maybe it was the magic that caused her to suddenly flip like that. “OH, and she also only referred to Wild as ‘my Link’.”

“Thank you, Wind. I’m sorry you had to go through that. Get some rest now.” Wind was about to argue when he heard a voice from behind him. “ Yes, rest child. You’ll need it for what's to come. ” Wind physically jumped at the sound of Mipha’s voice. He whipped around to see her now glaring at Time who looked at him with an eyebrow raised. “I thought you were staying by Wild Mipha.” Time’s other eyebrow shot up when Wind spoke. “ Yes, but it's quite rude to have a conversation about someone without including them. Even if I am a spirit. ” Wind tried not to tremble at the implications that could have, “of course, sorry.” Mipha simply nodded her head and snapped her fingers, instantly disappearing and reappearing at Wild’s side in a burst of ghostly fire.

Wind lay down and tried to put their conversation out of his mind, but he couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. It even followed him into his dreams although they were admittedly more peaceful than usual. Next thing he knows he’s being shaken awake by a groggy Sky. Wind groans and sits up. He’s greeted by the sight of Wild at a cooking pot over the fire from last night talking to Time who looks like he didn’t get a wink of sleep. “Hey Wind, did you feel anything weird in your dreams too?” Wind turned back to Sky and opened his mouth only to get cut off by none other than Wild. “Oh that was probably Mipha. She likes to mess with people's dreams, says it's the best way to learn who someone really is. Don’t worry it’s harmless, she does it to me all the time.” Sky sent Wild an indigent look, “well then tell your wife to not wake me up next time.” Wind just laughed at Sky’s misfortune. So that was why the resident sleepyhead was up before him. Wind had genuinely thought he might have overslept for a moment. Wild meanwhile simply nodded and glanced at Mipha. “Well breakfast is ready!” All the chain began to converge on the pot, some with more energy than others.

Chapter Text

Mipha took quite a bit of joy waking up “Time” every twenty minutes. The man was so self-assured in his ability to “look out” for the other heroes. It was beyond easy to twist his dreams into nightmares. “Sky” however, had the most interesting dreams. He had dreams that could tell him of future events and  based on his reaction to her silencing them he hadn’t ever had a dream without some sort of vision in it. She wouldn’t silence them again considering what she thought would help actually did more harm than good. Sky had been the only one to not attack her Link and deserved to be rewarded. After all, it was her duty as princess to make sure those who protect her possessions were granted compensation. It just appeared that she would be unable to grant that compensation through dreams. It was a shame really.

Little Wind was also interesting. He was asked by Time to gather information on Mipha and her beloved and managed to do a fair job. Of course, she gave no hint she knew this prior to this conversation but even if she didn’t the way Time attempted to listen in made it very clear. All the more reason she made him dream of his wife’s death over and over again. It was what he deserved for his slight against her Link . She was glad her grace made it so the wound would not tarnish his beautiful skin . He had enough scars as is, from those blasted guardians. She had tried to convince Zelda to dismantle them, and she had thankfully been very receptive. Hopefully they would all be destroyed by the time Mipha and her Link returned to their time.

During breakfast Sky aired his grievances with Mipha messing with his dreams. Her Link sent her a nod that only she knew the meaning of. She would have to be more subtle. Her Link would never ask her to stop. They lacked too much information for that and even if they didn’t, he likes to give her space to make her own decisions. She appreciated that very much. Link may be hers and only hers, but she still lets him make his own decisions just as he does the same for her. He had earned that much after years of slavery in service to the crown, and she was much better than that. Besides, love is built upon trust. That and Link was the only one who could undo their bond, and she wanted to avoid pushing him to that point at any cost. The “chain” as they called themselves was packing up, so she wrapped her legs around her beloved’s neck and started braiding his hair. She loved how soft and silky it was. She could play with it for hours and not grow bored. Like she would ever grow bored with her beloved in the first place.

Then suddenly, Mipha was weightless. Not in the way she normally was, she felt like she was drifting along a river. A river entirely composed of rapids and waterfalls. She would have felt like she was going to throw up if she still had a stomach. Then she fell out of the river and was in someplace different entirely. She looked around and quickly spotted her Link bent over emptying his guts . She flew over and slowly rubbed her Link’s back as he panted. Glancing about she saw a group of monsters coming over. The way they were approaching told her that these monsters knew they would be coming, however they would not anticipate Mipha. She circled one of the monsters and felt the familiar pull of her new magic . She directed the magic to the monster’s brain, sending it into a frenzy . She went to another one and repeated the process as her infectious magic leaped from one monster to another via their battle. After infecting the second she returned to her Link’s side.

As Mipha helped her beloved up she looked around and found the other heroes in similar disoriented states. They were doing even worse than she and her Link had been. “ Sky. Her beloved nodded once and ran over to help Sky up. The rest Mipha would leave to the monsters, however she doubted her beloved would. Sometimes he was far too forgiving. After helping Sky up, her Link began dragging the rest of them into a nearby bush. It seems he hasn’t fully forgiven them. It was what they deserved . Sky was helping out while looking at the monsters fighting among themselves in shock. “Mipha frenzied them.” Sky glanced at her Link before looking back to the fighting monsters. Over half of them had already been slaughtered and it was looking more and more like her beloved would not get to have any fun. She would have to find him a new plaything soon as Hylia would probably not appreciate Mipha corrupting one of her heroes. Perhaps she could find an unsuspecting Zora to possess while they were here too. She would love to feel her beloved both outside and inside with a physical body once more.

Sky’s first memories after the sudden era shift was Wild shaking him. In the distance he could hear the sounds of a battle and got up and fast as he could. He saw Wild dragging Time into a nearby bush and followed his example starting with Four, albeit a lot more gently than Wild was. However, seeing the chain all here confused Sky, so he looked for the battle and found the monsters fighting amongst themselves. He must have been staring because Wild glanced at him before glancing at the battle. “Mipha frenzied them.” Sky gave a small nod. It made sense that the ghost who could mess with dreams could also influence the minds of monsters. He was a little worried as “frenzied” implied they would be even more relentless once they turned on the chain. The other worrying thing was that Mipha has shown she has no problem messing with them with what had obviously occurred with Time. He was worried she might turn her power against the chain, and they would have no idea.

The monster's numbers ended up dropping to three before they finally turned on the chain and despite their black blood Sky could handle three monsters. As he and Wild finished them the rest of the chain began to rouse. Hyrule and Four had to be shaken awake though. From there they quickly figured out they were in the smith’s Hyrule. Four began to lead them to the forge as Sky walked with Hyrule strangely enough and couldn’t help but overhear Wild’s and Legend’s conversation. “This marrying a ghost thing. Does it work on other things?” Wild glanced to his side presumably discussing with Mipha before responding to Legend. “It depends, what risks are you willing to take?” “Any.” The finality of Legend’s statement equally shocked Sky and Wild. “I do not have the ritual on me, but it should theoretically work on anything with a soul. Consent helps but isn't mandatory and they can attempt to resist it.” Legend looked away for a moment before looking back. “How easily?” Wild gave a sinister smirk. “From what I’ve heard the only one to ever successfully resist was a god.” Legend nodded before glancing back at Sky and Hyrule. Sky pretended he wasn’t listening until Legend wasn’t looking before whispering to Hyrule. “Did you hear that?” Hyrule looked at him confused, “hear what?” Sky shook his head, “never mind, I just overheard Legend and Wild talking is all.” Hyrule smiled and nodded, “good. Hopefully Legend found a weakness or something, I don’t trust Wild as far as I can throw him.” Sky was confused so he asked, “why?” “Dark magic users are never trustworthy.” Sky just sighed, he wouldn’t tell Hyrule that his predecessor was considering using dark magic himself. They had enough trust issues in the chain as is.

Mipha knew Sky had been listening to her beloved’s conversation. Yet he didn’t tell the fae boy anything . This was most intriguing to Mipha, so much so that she decided Time could rest tonight. She wanted to talk to Sky directly . Meanwhile she conversed with her beloved about what she had learned. They quietly discussed plans so should any one of the chain turn on them or even every hero at once , they would be ready. It helped that her beloved was so capable. He quite literally only had one weakness if you could call it that and it was currently in another time. Only the Lord of the Mountain could banish Mipha thus weakening her grace, but then their bond couldn’t be broken. The only one who could was her beloved himself which is why she does everything to make him happy. Besides, Satori as a minor deity would need the help of a major deity if he was to banish a spirit with her connections from the living world. Hylia turned a blind eye as she wanted to keep her Link happy, Farore knows it would break his heart and would never do that to him, and Nayru owes him after he freed Naydra. The only major deity that would help would be Din and from what Mipha has gathered Din finds her and her Link far too entertaining. There was the possibility of other deities ganging up on her with Satori but with a major deity having the power of four regular deities it would be hard for Satori to gather such a group.

So long as she stayed on most deities' good sides, Satori included, she would never leave her beloved alone ever again. From what he had told her his early days had been a living hell from the former king being worse than his commanding officer when he first joined the Hylian army to the overwhelming loneliness he felt until freeing Vah Ruta. Even then Mipha and the other champions were not able to interact with him all that much, meaning he was still lonely. She would never let that happen ever again. Her Link deserved the world and if he asked for it then she would find a way to give it to him. They stopped walking and her beloved began to prepare lunch for everyone. According to “Four” or as she and her Link knows, Red, Blue, Green, and Vio, they would reach their forge by nightfall. She was very careful when revealing secrets, she had learned to her beloved in case little Wind was listening. Little Wind who found her beloved “cool”. She could work with that. Little Wind would have to be her messenger if she needed to deliver a threat without her beloved knowing. She would be sure to reward him though. Perhaps she could even show him the unbound pleasures of watching a creature squirm before it inevitably died. It always made her so hot on the inside. She would need to find that plaything soon, for both her and her beloved’s sake.

Chapter 4: Observations

Notes:

Hello hello

This is kinda a filler chapter where we see the perspective of multiple people in the chain hence the name. Been having more free time so it's been hard to think (and isn't that strange).

Without further ado, enjoy!

Chapter Text

Warriors has noticed something about Wild. He seemed to have a never-ending bloodlust that could be quieted but never quelled. Wild or his ghost wife (who was apparently a Zora princess) was also a sadist, and Warriors was leaning more towards the latter of the two being more likely. What did this result in? Warriors watching Wild get up to play with his "toy" in the middle of the night. That “toy” turned out to be a completely brainwashed monster that Wild would torture until the sun began to rise. Warriors definitely did not watch with images of Artemis replacing Wild. No sir. Warriors then startled slightly. He had been quite good at keeping his darker desires in check but ever since Wild joined their group it has been getting harder. Warriors would only be truly worried when new thoughts that aren’t his enter his mind but for now he would remain cautious. Wild was incredibly valuable on the battlefield and has reduced the number of injuries the chain would normally receive by more than half. He was something any captain would want to have. He was incredibly efficient without sacrificing ruthlessness or brutality. Not to mention Wild was unkillable.

Warriors was trying to stay on Wild’s good side for that specific reason. Should Wild or his wife turn on them there was nothing they could do. Wild had the strength to break out of any kind of containment or capture and he couldn’t be put down either. Warriors also notice Mipha seems to go crazy, or crazier than she may already be according to some of the others in the chain, when Wild got hurt. He knew this as once a monster managed to land a blow on Wild and then began writhing in pain as Warriors watched its will leave its body. This same monster was Wild’s current “toy” that Wild tortured. Warriors didn’t call Wild out for it as he liked his dreams thank you very much. Time was still going through nightmares anytime Wild was in camp meaning it was probably Mipha causing them. Time, the only member of the chain who has hurt Wild. It was easy to put two and two together.

When Wild came back that night he did so with a sigh. Warriors shot him a glance which Wild responded with a shrug. “It died.” Ah, his “toy” had finally perished. Warriors almost felt bad for the thing for what it had gone through, but he quickly reminded himself monsters would do the same to them if they got the chance. Not that he was calling Wild or his wife a monster. Several of the chain who have claimed to see her in their sleep, Wind being the most common for some reason, said she was fairly pretty and one of the most Hylian looking Zora they had seen. Time, himself, and Twilight currently were the only ones she hadn’t revealed herself to and Warriors doubted that would ever change. Time was for obvious reasons and Twilight was Time’s descendant which Wild’s wife might dislike. As for Warriors himself, Wild had told him of his time as a knight and the frankly horrible commanding officers he had to endure. Wild was slowly beginning to open up and trust him especially with how Warriors has yet to rat him out or even ask what he was doing.

The next morning Warriors was surprised when Wild handed him his plate personally. Normally Wild would leave breakfast out and let the chain take as they woke up, so Warriors was pleasantly surprised. At first, he thought it could be poisoned but he pushed those thoughts down. After finishing yet another delicious meal served by Wild Warriors felt invigorated. He felt like he could run all the way to Castletown and back without stopping. Warriors was the only one to receive a plate personally too. Did this mean Wild was warming up to him? If this was the benefit of Wild liking Warriors, then he could get used to this. The only other that has gotten this close to Wild was Sky and maybe Legend. While the day proved uneventful, Warriors continued to receive personal meals from Wild. This was the third day in Four’s Hyrule. Most of the time they simply stayed at the forge. Wild had disappeared a few times even once coming back covered in black blood. After that someone always had to go with Wild.

Warriors had taken it upon himself to find Wild anytime he disappeared. When Warriors first did this Wild seemed fully ready for some kind of reprimand but when Warriors remained silent loosened up. That was another thing. Time constantly had nightmares, and Twilight would get them anytime he attempted to reprimand Wild. Meanwhile Sky and Warriors always had normal dreams unlike the rest of the chain. Sky and himself who were probably the closest to Wild. It didn’t take a genius to put two and two together. It also probably helped that he was the only one to apologize for their initial encounter. That also didn’t take a genius. Wild may not be talkative which Warriors could get coming from the streets and all. However he didn’t hesitate to talk to Sky and hesitated very little with Warriors which could easily be blamed on lingering memories. Warriors felt like Wild might actually open up to Warriors. See, there was something he could do better than Legend.

Legend watched Hyrule and Wild glare at each other. They had been doing this since Time shut down their attempt to have a rematch. Legend himself wanted a rematch but held off until he could get that ritual from Wild. Legend was quite easy to taunt, a weakness he hated to have exploited, but Legend wanted a rematch for a second reason as well. He had never fought someone with Wild’s skill and the fact he dual wielded only added to that fact. He tore through the battlefield with deadly efficiency and any monster that managed to survive was so badly mangled it was barely even a threat. Wild liked to “play” with these ones so Legend put them down where he could. Legend may think all monsters deserve death, but most did not deserve torture. Now, Legend would pay to see Wild torture a Lynel however, or Ganon. Seeing Ganon cower in fear like most monsters do when Wild approaches would be downright euphoric. Legend was sure that if he saw that even once this entire quest would have been worth it.

Outside of talks about the ritual Wild has been rather cagy. From the two times he had seen Mipha, and wasn’t that a shock when it happened, she appeared to be cagy too. Legend recognized the lack of trust they held for the chain. He supposed it made sense as it had only been about a week or two now. Trust took time to build up. Currently Sky was the only one who could approach Wild openly although he seemed less cautious around Warriors than he used to be. Then there was Time. Time could not go near Wild without clutching his head often claiming to get a headache. The man had been having constant nightmares too. Sure, they have died down slightly but having nightmares every single night without fail is not natural. That and knowing Mipha could manipulate dreams, she had visited Legend himself twice before, painted a very grim picture. Mipha held some kind of grudge against Time and seeing it made Legend not want to end up on her hit list.

Time’s life is pure hell currently. He had stabbed straight through Wild on accident and as a consequence had nonstop nightmares and headaches whenever he went near Wild. He constantly dreamt of doing the very same action to Malon and having to watch her die in his arms. The chain all refusing to even look at him for what he did. The accusations and guilt have even followed him to the waking world. It was hard to concentrate, and Time knew he looked like he went four rounds with Ganon without stopping. He had yet to see this elusive Mipha but if he ever did, he would beg her to let him have at least one night of rest. He was even considering just straight up asking Wild despite the unnatural headache he got. Time had never been more thankful for Twilight. Twilight had been helping Time as his lack of rest further impeded him. The chain would probably have fallen apart by now if it wasn’t for Twilight’s efforts. Time would be sure to properly thank his descendant as soon as he could get some proper rest.

It was the start of their second week in Four’s Hyrule and Sky felt he had managed to get rather close to Wild and his wife. According to Wild Mipha liked Sky because he hadn’t attempted to attack Wild. It was also why Mipha was making Time have nightmares explaining why Time looked so bad. As of now Sky was attempting to convince Wild and by extension Mipha to let Time rest. Lucky for Sky Wild sided with him leading to Wild relaying that Mipha had reluctantly agreed. However, he did explain that Mipha was her own person and if she changed her mind he couldn’t do much about it. Sky quickly acknowledged that as he never believed she wasn’t. The next morning when Sky woke up, Time was still asleep. No one had bothered to wake him as they all had seen his struggles sleeping. It appeared that Mipha listened after all. Sky was quite thankful.

When the next portal appeared two days later Wild physically jumped back and then proceeded to flip it the bird. This action ended up waking up Time who immediately began directing the chain. Time had yet to have another nightmare, and he was finally returning to his position as the group’s leader as could be seen right now. Sky was chosen to go with Wild as he generally had an easier time with the portals while they did not know Wild’s response. Turns out said response involves puking up blood. If Hyrule hadn’t been holding a grudge he would have immediately rushed over to help. Instead Hyrule pretended not to notice. Sky was incredibly thankful Wild was always healing. It was almost scary how one minute he was vomiting blood and the next he was perfectly fine. It made Sky consider looking into healing magic himself.

They quickly identified the era as Twilight’s and set off for Ordon. Sky liked the cozy little village. They were always very welcoming to the chain. Wild looked so much more at peace in the woods. Sky had no doubt he would fit right in Ordon. Soon enough the chain was emerging from Faron Woods. Wild took one glance at Twilight’s treehouse and was already scrambling up the ladder. Twilight shouted after him to not break anything and told the chain he would let the town know they were here. There weren't many monsters in Twilight’s Hyrule so they should be fine to hang out until the next portal and if there were any that needed to be dealt with Dusk would have sent a messenger. Sky personally was desiring a nap, so he found a nice, shaded spot and settled down closing his eyes.

Wild and Mipha each had a favorite. Mipha liked Sky more than the rest and Wild was getting comfortable around Warriors. Naturally this also meant their love’s favorite was quickly climbing their respective internal ranking chart. However out of all of the chain there was one Wild was quickly growing to despise, Hyrule. It was clear to Wild that Hyrule didn’t trust him and Wild didn't trust Hyrule either. Mipha had quickly identified him as fae and Zelda had once said you can never trust a fae. Something about them being tricksters, he couldn’t fully remember. However, Zelda was almost never wrong so Wild had been sure to ask Mipha to watch Hyrule as he slept, which she happily obliged. Hyrule had yet to get over a simple act of magic out of love when all the fairies around Wild’s own Hyrule got over it in all of five minutes. Yet another reason to not trust Hyrule. It seems while fairies don’t hold grudges, fae definitely do. Wild never likes anyone who holds a grudge.

Notes:

Next Dragon Hero soon!

Warriors dislikes torture, unless it's done by his woman of course.

Kinda wondering what your guy's thoughts are on the reveal of was Mipha and Wild think a toy is

Have a wonderful day/night and thank you for your support
