Chapter 1: Drowning
Chapter Text
Harry was drowning; the horcrux was keeping him under; he had no way back up. He pounded hard on the ice, but he was still unable to break it. Eventually, all good things must come to an end, leaving a handprint behind on the ice as the darkness closed on him. It was dark and cold, and the next thing he knew, he opened his eyes again to see everything was faded to white.
“Welcome, master. I was not expecting you so soon; unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.” He sighed, disappointed his fate was sealed by a petty little trinket.
“I am no one's master; I'm just Harry?” He was confused about what was going on here; this was certainly something he wasn't expecting at all.
“I am death, and you are my master. I have arrived at an unfortunate event, but the master is learning, so you can go back in time or forward. After all, you may be the master of death, but you truly are a timeless being.”
Harry didn't understand why death was being cryptic at all, a timeless being that's a new one.
“So I can go to any point in time every time I die for all eternity!”
“That is correct, master; unfortunately for now, you will be going in time to learn how to master yourself, and one day you might not need your faithful servant anymore.” He sounded quite disappointed at this fact.
“Well, can you join me on my journey, death?”
“Not yet, but I can one day, and I'll show up with a big surprise!” He was excited, to say the least.
This master was worth waiting for after his last master, Ignis, died; eventually, all good things came to an end, and when his old master had a line just like. Once his last direct descendant becomes a master of death, the old must eventually go.
“Could I see my parents even if I have to be their professor!” Harry's tone of sadness spoke volumes in itself; he was quite sad to miss out on having parents, and there wasn't much he himself could do with greedy hearts.
“Of course, Harry, but you will look like you just finished Hogwarts. You will be 22 for safety reasons, and your heart seems quite set on one. I can make you quite good for what's to come.
Harry thought about it, but he wasn't sure if he should take her position.
“Do not fret, Harry; she will be much happier than at Hogwarts if you take the position; there won't be much of a change.” Death spoke coolly, and this amused Harry; it was like he was death itself.
“Okay then, but can I do this with not much background?” There was hesitation in his voice.
“Everything will be perfectly settled for you.” Death handed him a bag of useful items to come.
“Harrison Harry Pervelle, you will wake up with eyes as gold as the sun, and to see the coming future of your world, the past must never be dwelled on, or things could get messy.”
He could tell Death sounded concerned, but he couldn't tell why that was.
“Death will Tom—will he also be in this time?” His voice had gone soft and shy, almost like a baby rabbit.
“No, in this timeline Voldemort doesn't exist, but Tom Marvolo Gaunt is the minister of magic. I hope you stay wary of him; after all, one small thing can lead to a darker future, but luckily for you, that won't be a problem.” Death spoke like some sort of god.
“Thank you, e-erm?”
“Call me Thomas, oh, and one more thing: I did to grant your Pervelle lineage to also be able to speak to snakes so you won't have trouble with any Slytherins that might want to get into your pants.”
Harry blushed deeply. ‘What did he mean by getting into my pants!’
“Am I going to be raped!”
“Erm, no, no, no!” Death laughed, but it sounded inhuman. “No little devil teenagers have hormones, and you'll look quite well for your age. They might just try to woo you or try the love potion, but everything they try won't work as certain things are at play, and I do love quite the teen romance!”
Harry didn't know what shocked him more. That the kids he will teach try to rape him or death-loving teen romance.
Everything began to blur again, and the next thing Harry knew, he was in his old family house in Godric's Hollow.
Everything was definitely organized; he wondered if death itself could have OCD; that could explain a lot of why he wanted to keep Harry alive for so long.
Harry noticed a neatly organized desk clearly for him to use for now until he gets in as a professor.
Harry sat down at the desk and went through the paperwork and looked like death really did take care of everything for him like he was his own son.
“So the inheritance is all Pervelle parents deceased, and it looks like I have only one relative to the Black family—wait, this can't be correct!” Harry was surprised and shocked.
“Orion Black was a second cousin, and I wonder how that happened.” Harry thought to himself the black madness; he hoped the Pervelles surpassed it, and he couldn't get the black family madness.
He also learned that blacks are carriers of babies, male and female, but it showed he couldn't, so that was a lucky trait that missed him.
He also learned he has 5 of the Pervelle vaults, all belonging to him after all; his was just made thanks to death, and the other 4 he had to check out later. He never thought Pervelle vaults would fill so quickly.
He learned certain things, but one that stood out the most was that he had a child with Orion. He was unsure how that happened, but he had a feeling it was death's way to Harry.
“This whole thing is messed up. I can't believe I have the interview tomorrow morning. I guess I'll have to spend time in the muggle world.” Fortunately for Harry, wizards money and the money where he lives work together; it makes time in the muggle world easier. After all, he only had wizard money.
Harry went out to a coffee shop. Interestingly enough, it reminded him a lot of his old headmaster. He sat down and heard strange music coming from a jukebox.
‘It is nice just to have a moment and collect one's thoughts.’ Harry smiles down at the cup in his hand before taking a sip.
Please, professor, I need help with the class. I know you professors are the same, but please, I need your help! A small Remus asked, his eyes filled with tears.
Harry couldn't help but wonder what trouble he would be getting into with the Marauders in fifth year. ‘I really hope all those memories of Severus weren't all real, but I can't help but wonder what happened to him and Lily that drove them apart as friends.’
Harry has an inkling feeling he will need a lot of Fireball whisky for those troublemakers.
With the day passing by quickly, he was able to enjoy a decent walk afterwards, having a conversation with some muggles, but he had a feeling he would be around here a lot with Hogwarts time off.
“So Harrison Pervelle, quite the honor here. I thought all the Pervelle family was permanently gone.” Dumbledore let out an unusual sigh.
“Most do, but I am unfortunately half-blood, so it would be quite troublesome on my part. With being the last Pervelle, I needed a job, and I thought of here; I hear there is always a spot needing to be filled with the dark arts.”
“That is true; unfortunately, not many last long, but I trust you can fill this position.” He made it sound like Harry would be gone by the end of the year.
“Of course, headmaster, I hope to show I can do well for a teacher of 22.” Harry gave a small, dark smile.
“Oh my, you don't look a day over 16, but I trust you can get things in order with how everything stands out. Well, I'll have to put you on a trial run; unfortunately, if it's not to my standards, well…”
“That explains why you're lacking the dark arts teachers. I hope to prove my worth to headmaster Dumbledore.” Harry didn't care; he just needed to get enough dirt on him; he could already feel he needed him out.
But sir, please, I don't want to learn it anymore. I don't want to join the dark lord! A young regulus shouted at the headmaster, who mercilessly gave no care for the well-being of Slytherins.
‘And here I didn't think he could stoop any lower.'
Harry had made his way to the class he was going to need to prepare for the student next week, so they were going to be a bit behind. Luckily, Harry knew just the topic.

Chapter 2: Unnerving
Summary:
Harrison gets a distraction while another two grow a crush on their new professor.
Chapter Text
Harry had accidentally ran into a student on his way to his new classroom.
“I-Im sorry” a small shy sound came from someone familiar.
Harry looked up and to his surprise it was Severus he was small and looked like himself when he was with the dursleys but knowing the headmaster is responsible for this was quite unsettling.
“It's alright erm- what's your name?”
“Severus Snape professor.”
‘Ugh how is Severus so cute in this era ah he's so adorable he's definitely going to become a distraction.’
“Well off you go Severus” Harry shooed him away wishing he had fought harder on learning occlumency.
Harry, forcing himself, walked away and entered the dada room setting it up with time passing. There was Sirius standing there ‘he must not have classes running.’
Harry was starting to get the feeling that this is death’s warning and death was going to bite him in the arse.
Sirius stared at him through the doorway, making Harry uncomfortable; he was not used to seeing Sirius so small as his golden eyes landed directly on his grey eyes.
It hurt to see Sirius so carefree before his imprisonment but with the black madness he's unsure he can say he won't find a way back.
‘Harry he is literally mentally ill! There's nothing we can do about the madness once it has taken effect.” Hermione yelled at him practically begging him to let Sirius go.
Harry sighed, “What do you need, Mr. Black.”
“First day and you already know my family” he Sirius pouted “how typical” he whispered the last part, unfortunately Harry had heard him.
“I do take notes of my students but it's unprofessional to call students by their own name if you plan to cause mischief do it elsewhere.” Harry definitely was starting to sound a lot like Snape now as he grumbled to himself how this happened. But Harry missed Sirius' cheeks slightly turning pink.
“I was just wondering about our upcoming class tomorrow.” Sirius stayed silent for a moment. “Someone said it was a rumored talk about certain creatures.” There was definitely worry in his tone, one Harry was not used to hearing from Sirius.
“Yes it seems with lack of teaching I'll have to pick up all the slack and certain creatures are ones that are required in fourth year but because there was not a proper teacher I'll have a lot to catch you up on.”
Sirius stared at the professor with uncertainty. “Unless you know something Mr. Black?” Harry stared through him with knowing eyes.
“This has nothing to do with Mr. Lupin" he stayed quiet for a moment "does it Sirius?” Harry stared at him as he turned heel and ran with fear on his face.
“That is unfortunate.” his face turned with a sorrowful expression he hated using.
“Don't talk to me James, I can't keep doing this! He just got here and it's like he knows things and I don't like anything about this, I'm done!” James watched as Sirius left with no explanation as Lily was just coming into the common room and looked baffled as they had never fought before.
Harry fell to the floor, this seer ability was taking a toll on him. These visions are too much but he had to get used to it.
With classes about to start tomorrow Harry was getting the class prepared for the first time since his sixth year of Hogwarts before he officially died.
Harry finished up and was sitting at his desk drinking his fire whiskey.
He knew he shouldn't be drinking before teaching kids but he honestly didn't care anymore and with how much the school actually doesn't care what teachers do but teach he took up the only thing that made life barrable after death.
How much he had missed Ron, Hermione and he missed the twins the most. Before he could say anything he had unexpected visitors standing by the door.
Harry was shocked with tears. “Well I'm officially drunk.” Harry got up and was met with unexpected hugs.
“Fred, George, how are you here!?” Harry was quite baffled, especially now they're in Slytherin uniform instead of Gryffindor.
“Well my dear friend!” George started.
“We were brought by death here!” Fred said enthusiastically.
“Now we get to be your students,” George continued.
“Professor” they both said in unison.
They both smirked, making Harry blush profoundly.
“We may be older than you harry but now the tables have turned! Perhaps a few fire whiskeys would help.” They teased him profoundly.
Harry was dumbfounded. They would think Harry, their now professor, would give them drinks especially now with his alcoholic tendencies.
“I might give you fire whiskey if you stop bothering me for the rest of the day.” Harry sighed out.
The twins clung to him. “Oh well try professor~.” This comment made him blush deeply.
“Shut up.” His face was a deep shade of red.
After dealing with the twins for the rest of the day Harry slumped down in his bed he was beyond exhausted his first day dealing with a cute professor now student and then Sirius with his overprotective instincts he was glad he didn't meet regulus just yet.
The world is starting to spin into a bright light.
“Hello harry.” Death spoke to him.
“Did you not like my gift?” Harry tensed at how words.
“Why…”
“Protection after all the black madness goes so far who knows what they'll do to you.” Death grins at him in a way that Harry feels uncomfortable.
“Ah yes I did forget to give you this.” Death handed Harry a necklace that looks just like the deathly hallows symbol.
“Why does this look just like…”
“The hallows, yes it was quite the inconvenience of making tricky things but it summons me to you when you need me but I've been quite busy. I forgot about this better now then later I suppose.”
Harry stared at death in disbelief; he never thought death was this nice being, especially for him.
“Death…” Harry barely managed to speak. “You said I had a son with Orion what-what happened to him.”
Death had stayed silent for a moment. “He is in a different country studying. I am preparing to take over his body so when the time is ready I'll be here.”
“You make it sound like a death sentence.” Harry grumbled.
“Oh it's much more than that, it's a special occasion, it's not every day death prepares to come to the living world to live for his master.”
Harry looked up at him “have you done this before?”
“Once a very long time ago. But don't worry Orion vaguely remembers so there is no disruption.” he spoke in a terrifying tone.
“Oh and master I can't wait till our paths cross again soon don't worry I know where to always find my master.” He spoke in a cherry tone as the light changed and Harry woke up in a cold sweat.
With the classes started Harry was so drunk he didn't realize someone was calling him.
“What was that pro- Mister Lupin?”
“We're discussing werewolves, professor.” Remus shuddered nervously; he didn't think werewolves were learned about because no one lasts more than a year in the position.
“Yes Mister Lupin, it is a topic that is discussed with proper classes. Unfortunately it seems everyone is behind with lack of teaching so I'll be dealing with the outcome to teach you as much as is needed.”
With lessons ending for the day Harry sat back on his seat he didn't realize regulus came up to him until he looked up at him.
“Hello Regulus what brings you by at this late hour.” Harry wasn't expecting him to show up while he was drunk out of his mind.
There was a blush creeping on his face and he sat a box on his desk.
“It's a gift.” He spoke softly and Harry smiled for the first time since he arrived and it was at him.
“Thank you Regulus.” His voice was smooth with softness layered.
He felt happy around Regulus with a familiar feeling that reminded him of himself back when there was a time everything felt calm.
Harry was staring at the water with the warm breeze feeling against his tender skin. Sirius sat beside him with Severus sitting on his lap and Remus was laying on the grass sleeping. James and Lily were making out beside a tree and Regulus and Barty were having some battle in the water. Everything felt perfect.
Harry opened his eyes with the feeling of going away; he could only feel the empty void inside as he got into his drawer and grabbed fire whiskey while drinking a little too much.
‘how far the savior has fallen.’
Chapter 3: Full Moon
Summary:
A jealous Severus and a drunken teacher—what could go wrong?
Chapter Text
For a moment there was a silence that felt strange. "Sirius, will you stay after class?" Harry spoke softly but Sirius flinched as he told him to stay behind and Remus looked confused.
Sirius gave Remus a reassuring smile before he walked up to Harry as everyone in Class left. "You wanted to speak with me professor?" He hesitated before looking up at his new professor.
“The full moon is coming up soon, and I wanted you to give this as a gift for your friend," Harry said, placing a potion on the desk.
Sirius's eyes widened. "Is that...?"
"Yes, it's a Wolfsbane Potion. I've been working on a new formula. It's supposed to be more effective, with fewer side effects."
Sirius picked up the potion, examining it closely. "Harry, I... I don't know what to say."
"Just give it to Remus. He needs it."
"He's going to be so happy, he's been so worried about the upcoming full moon, he even considered locking himself up again."
Harry smiled. "I know. That's why I made it. Now, go on. He's probably waiting for you."
Sirius grinned. "Thanks, Harry. You're a good professor." He turned and hurried out of the classroom.
Meanwhile, in the back of the classroom, Severus watched from the shadows. He had lingered behind feeling a mix of emotions. Seeing Harry and Sirius together stirred something in him. He felt jealous of the attention Harry was giving to him and now Remus as well.
Severus clenched his fists, wishing he could feel the same warmth Harry seemed to share with everyone else. He observed how Harry looked at Sirius, filled with trust and admiration. It made Severus want to step forward and tell Harry that he was important too, but the words wouldn’t come.
Sevreus walked up to the professor desk Snape's face twisted into a mask of disgust. "Lupin? You're helping that beast?"
"He's not a beast, Severus. He's a human being."
"Normal? A werewolf can never be normal."
"That's not true," Harry said, his voice rising. "With the Wolfsbane Potion, he can control his transformations. He can be himself."
Snape scoffed. "You're a fool. You think you can change things, but you can't. Some people are just born evil, and there's nothing you can do about it."
"I don't believe that," Harry said firmly. "I believe that everyone deserves a chance.”
Severus's jealousy bubbled to the surface like a forgotten potion on a hot stove. 'Why was Harry so fascinated by Remus!?' He thought as he crossed his arms.
But as much as he tried to ignore it, he couldn't.
In a fit of frustration, Severus muttered to himself, "What does Remus and Sirius have that I don't?” Harry blinked, taken aback by the unexpected vulnerability in Snape's voice.
“I… um…” He hesitated, trying to come up with a way to sound like someone who genuinely knew what to do but ultimately didn't.
He could only watch as Severus slammed the door shut with Harry slumbering back in his chair as he took out the firewhiskey. ‘Maybe I should not be a drunk professor.’ Harry thinks to himself before drowning his sorrows away.
