The Inarizaki volleyball club bus slowed to a stop next to the fleet of other buses all parked outside the summer-volleyball campgrounds. As the team started getting up to grab their things and leave the bus they heard their coach beginning to make announcements.. “Okay boys listen up! Yer gonna get off the bus, grab all yer bags and head over to the mess hall, if you don't know where to go just follow Kita and Aran. I’m gonna go over and talk with the other coaches and then I’ll be heading back to school. Be on yer best behaviour. All of you. The camp coaches will report back to me if any of ya misbehave. I’ll see ya'll back at school after camp, have fun.” As their coach finishes his speech and leaves the bus Suna leans over to whisper “Yeah Tsumu, best behaviour”. Atsumu chooses not to dignify him with a response and just sticks his tongue out and leaves him on the bus.
As Suna catches up to Atsumu he calls out to him “Tsumu we should ask to be put in the same cabin” and he is immediately forgiven for his previous teasing as Atsumu brightens up..
“Sunarin, you can just say ya love me”
“I hate you, actually”
“No ya dont! You just said you wanna room with me”
“I change my mind”
“Nope, no take backs Sunarin. Ya love me and ya know it”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night”
Once they arrive at the mess hall they are sat in rows per each middle school. Atsumu sits with Suna directly behind him and Aran in front of him as they get their cabin assignments. Inarizaki were given three cabins, each of which had space for five beds in. And after several rounds of Rock, Paper, Scissors, it was decided that Atsumu and Suna would, in fact, get to bunk together, along with Kita, Aran and Ginjima. Everyone listens as the camp director explains the many rules and repercussions to breaking said rules, where everything is and how everything works at camp.
“The camp lasts one month, you will all get the chance to practice and play volleyball, as well as outdoor volleyball, beach volleyball and water volleyball. There are some other activities, like game nights, craft nights, movie nights and bonfire nights. We have some hiking trails and obstacle courses set up as well so you should have plenty of things to do. There is one cabin on the other side of the campgrounds near the trails. That is the isolation cabin. If you are repeatedly misbehaving you will be sent there for the rest of camp, you will not get to participate in any activities outside of regular volleyball with your teams and you would have to continue to stay there until either the end of camp or we decide you have made up for your behaviour and learnt your lesson, whichever comes first. Thank you all for your attention, you may now head to your cabins and unpack”.
A stampede of feet running to different cabins follows the completion of the directors speech.
“Hey Sunarin, can we try water volleyball later? I heard one of those Karasuno kids say they're gonna head over there and I wanna set to him”
“Sure, lets go after we finish unpacking”

A few cabins away from Inarizaki, the Fukurodani team members were also getting settled in their own cabin.
“Hey! Hey! ‘Kaashi, ‘Samu, what do you guys wanna do most? I wanna try water volleyball! I’ve never played that before, we could probably get Kuroo to play and do some 2v2 games”
“You should ask him Bokuto-san, that would be fun. I think the game nights will be fun so I’m looking forward to that”
“Oh! Game nights will be fun! We should try be on the same team ‘Kaashi. What about you ‘Samu?”
“The bonfire. I wanna roast marshmallows. Or the movie nights, I brought snacks so we can share them while we watch” The trio bursts into laughter as Osamu holds up far too many snacks for just the three of them.
They decide to go to the lake to play water volleyball before dinner to work up their appetites, and to ease Bokuto's excitement.
On their way over, a kid with ginger hair bounces over to them but eyes Osamu curiously.
“Ats- I thought you- I swear I just saw-” the kid looks at Osamu with a strange expression but doesn't say much other than his confused muttering. The boy takes off, also toward the lake, but yells over his shoulder “Come play water volleyball with us!”. Osamu looks over to Akaashi who seems just as confused about the boy's odd behaviour as he does, Bokuto on the other hand looks even more excited than before and runs ahead to catch up with the small ginger.
At the lake several other teams have gathered to play and watch others play. Osamu hops in the water with Bokuto and Akaashi, they’ll be playing the winners of the last round. He doesn't really know the team he's playing against, he can guess from their thick southern drawls that they're from the countryside but other than the fact that their team has a good setter and a really good ace he hasn't heard much about them.
They're ready to start playing when a gust of wind carries the ball away in the water. Out of reflex, Osamu goes to grab the ball.
Someone else does too.
Both boys launching forward to grab the ball causes the water to splash them in their faces but once they both simultaneously wipe the water from their eyes, a symphony of shocked noises is heard.
Suna is the first to break the shocked silence.. “Woah it's like we’re seeing double”
And despite also being shocked at the near identical face in front of him Atsumu insists
“Oh shut yer trap Sunarin it is not”
“C’mon Tsumu, ya don't see how you guys look the same?” Aran observed.
“Aran, we are nothin’ alike!”—Osamu interjects, “He’s right. We aren't the same. I’m far more likable, far less whiny, and a better team player” with that Osamu gets out of the lake and heads back towards the cabins, Akaashi and Bokuto following behind in shock.
Leaving Atsumu, cold, wet, and shocked in the lake.. “What did I ever do to that scrub”
“Don’t listen to ‘im Tsumu, let’s just go ready for dinner” Aran drawled, urging Atsumu toward the dock for him to climb out.
