Work Text:
Beep, beep. Beep, beep.
The rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor filled the sterile air of the operating room. Jungwon’s gloved hands moved with practiced precision, his sharp eyes focused on the delicate procedure before him. Sweat gathered at his temples beneath the surgical cap, but he ignored it, keeping his composure as he worked.
"Almost there," he murmured, his voice calm but firm. His team responded with silent efficiency, handing him the necessary instruments without hesitation. After a few more precise movements, he exhaled softly.
"And… we're done. Close up."
Stepping back, Jungwon pulled off his gloves, discarding them before stripping off his gown. The surgery had been a success. As always. Once outside the OR, he rolled his shoulders, feeling the exhaustion creep in now that the adrenaline was fading. He barely had a second to relax when someone casually bumped into him.
“Long day, Doctor Yang?”
Jungwon sighed before looking up, already recognizing the voice.
Riki stood before him, effortlessly put together in his signature long, white coat. Unlike Jungwon, who had just stepped out of surgery, Riki looked like he had all the time in the world. A pair of sleek, thin-framed glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, adding an extra air of refinement to his sharp features. His arms were crossed, an amused smirk playing on his lips.
“You look like you just fought death and barely won,” Riki teased, cocking his head. “You sure you’re not the patient instead?”
Jungwon rolled his eyes. “You sure you’re not the hospital clown?”
“Rude,” Riki gasped dramatically. “And after all the support I give you as a dedicated coworker?”
Before Jungwon could respond, the soft giggling of two nurses passing by caught his attention. He turned just in time to see them stealing glances at Riki, their expressions laced with admiration.
“Dr. Nishimura~” one of them cooed, waving flirtatiously. “Looking sharp as always.”
The other nurse gave him a coy smile. “Don’t overwork yourself, doctor. We’d hate to see you tiring yourself out,” she giggled and the two disappeared down the hallway.
Jungwon exhaled sharply through his nose, unimpressed. He spun, heading down the hallway to change out of the clothes while Riki easily fell into step beside him, the soft rustling of his coat being the only sound between them. Their fingers brushed briefly as they walked, a small act of intimacy no one else would notice.
“By the way,” Riki said, pushing his glasses up slightly with a lazy flick of his fingers, as if nothing had happened. “The staff’s been very interested in your love life lately.”
Jungwon groaned, already dreading where this was going.
“Oh, don’t worry,” Riki continued, his smirk widening. “I told them you’re very private about it. But between you and me… I think we should give them a little something to speculate about.”
Jungwon shot him a warning look as they made a turn round a corner. “Riki.”
“What?” He replied, acting innocent despite the mischievous glint in his eyes. “It’s not lying if we just let them assume things, right?”
Jungwon sighed. This was going to be a long day.
~
The lunchroom buzzed with the lively chatter of staff enjoying a brief moment of respite from their hectic shifts. Jungwon sat at a corner table with Sunoo, idly picking at his food while his friend animatedly recounted a funny patient interaction earlier this morning.
“And then—get this—the patient looks me dead in the eye and says, ‘Doctor, I swear I only ate one slice of cake,’ when his blood sugar was off the charts! " Sunoo cackled, shaking his head.
Jungwon snorted, shaking his head in amusement. "Classic."
Across the room, a few nurses and junior doctors sat together, their voices hushed but excited. Every now and then, Jungwon felt their eyes flicker toward him, and he sighed, already suspecting what—or rather, who—they were gossiping about.
"Hey, Jungwon," one of the nurses called out, leaning toward him with a curious smile. "We were just wondering… Are you seeing anyone?"
Jungwon nearly choked on his food. Sunoo, on the other hand, grinned knowingly, sensing the incoming chaos.
“Why do you ask?” Jungwon replied carefully, taking a sip of his drink.
“Well, you never talk about your love life, and you’re always focused on work,” the nurse reasoned. “So we were just curious! A guy like you has to have someone, right?”
Before Jungwon could answer, the sound of the lunchroom door swinging open caught everyone’s attention. Riki walked in, no longer wearing his white coat and was dressed in a plain, simple black shirt. His glasses were pushed up, resting on his head instead of being perched on his nose. Jungwon could already feel a headache coming his way the moment his husband made a beeline straight for his table, sliding into the empty seat across from him. He propped his chin on one hand, eyes flickering between Jungwon and Sunoo.
“What’s going on? Sounds like your conversation is really exciting,” he asked, despite already knowing what happened.
“Oh, we’re talking about Jungwonnie’s love life,” Sunoo replied with a sly grin, unfazed even when Jungwon delivered a sharp and powerful kick to his shins underneath the table.
“Oh?” Riki arched an eyebrow. “Is that so? Since when did this become a hot topic?”
This piece of shit.
Jungwon’s left eyebrow subtly twitched. He tightened his grip on his chopsticks, swallowing down the words threatening to leave his lips. Instead, he chose to scowl at the younger—his husband and if looks could kill, Riki would have dropped dead by now.
Hearing the question, one of the junior doctors took one for the team. “What do you think, Dr Nishimura?”
Riki hums, a thoughtful expression forming on his face. “I think that’s for you guys to find out. Where’s the fun if you expect me to spoon feed you the answer?”
The group groaned in unison, disappointed at how they didn’t get the response they wanted. They were about to bombard Riki when their pagers went off, leaving them no choice but to scurry out of the lunchroom, finally leaving the trio alone. Sunoo burst out laughing once they were out of sight.
“That was hilarious! You should’ve seen their reactions,” he wheezed.
“How is this funny? I’m constantly being bombarded by them, no matter where I go. It’s starting to annoy me,” Jungwon scoffed, shoving a mouthful of food into his mouth as he angrily chewed before swallowing them.
His husband coos, resting his hand on Jungwon’s thigh. “Aw, poor baby. Do you need some help?”
Jungwon snarls, bristling like a cat. “Fuck off.”
Sunoo sighed, watching the scene from where he sat. “Ah, young love.”

The afternoon sun cast a warm glow through the blinds of Jungwon’s office, the light streaking across the stacks of paperwork littering his desk. He sighed, rubbing his temples as he tried to focus on the chart in front of him, but his mind was already starting to blur from hours of administrative work. He wasn’t sure how much time had passed but as compared to how he had to tolerate the staff’s persistent investigation, he prefers hiding in the privacy of his office, granting him his much-needed peace and quiet.
Knock, knock.
Soft knocks broke the silence.
"Come in," Jungwon called without looking up, flipping a page.
The door swung open, and Heeseung peeked inside, his ever-relaxed smile in place. "Hey, got a minute?"
Jungwon dropped his pen with a relieved sigh. "Please tell me you need me for something other than paperwork."
Heeseung chuckled as he stepped inside, hands tucked into the pockets of his white coat. "Actually, yeah. I’ve got a tricky case later — thoracic surgery. Thought you might want to assist."
Jungwon sat up straighter, already feeling more energized. "When’s the surgery?"
"In about four hours. Figured you could use a break until then," Heeseung said, plopping down on the chair across from Jungwon’s desk. "Knowing you, you’ve been glued to that chair since lunch."
Jungwon huffed a laugh. "I was trying to finish the reports before the end of my shift. But you just gave me the perfect excuse to stop."
"Glad I could help," Heeseung grinned.
The two fell into an easy conversation, chatting about the surgery plan before veering into random topics—everything from his newly-married life to Sunghoon to a ridiculous video Sunoo had sent to the hospital group chat. Unbeknownst to them, a small group of nurses passing by Jungwon’s office had stopped right outside the slightly cracked door.
"Oh my gosh," one of them whispered, peeking in. "Look at them."
"They look so comfortable with each other," another nurse whispered back, eyes wide. "Do you think… they’re dating?"
"I mean, it makes sense," the first nurse reasoned. "They’re both talented, always working together, and Dr. Yang never talks about his love life. Maybe he’s been dating Dr. Lee this whole time?"
They shared an excited glance before scurrying off, no doubt to spread their newfound ‘theory’. It spreads like wildfire, jumping from one mouth to another mouth. Before anyone could react, nearly half of the hospital was aware, including Riki. He left his office, heading to the car park and drove out, only to return thirty minutes later, with a red plastic bag held in his left hand. He made his way to Jungwon’s office, knocking once and entering once he was granted permission.
“Oh, it’s you,” Jungwon deadpanned at the sight of his husband grinning at him. “What do you want now, Riki? Don’t tell me you’re here to torment me again.”
Riki chuckled, closing and silently locking the door behind him. He pulled the blinds, effectively hiding them from any curious passersby' eyes. “You know, that’s not how you should treat someone who bought you lunch.”
Jungwon owlishly blinks, bemused. He remained seated, watching as the other placed the plastic bag on his table. Placing his pen down, he pulls out the container from the bag and opens it. He gasped at the sight of his favorite dish. The office room was filled with the fragrance of egg fried rice with shrimp and as if sensing it, Jungwon’s stomach growled out loud—much to his embarrassment.
“I know you tend to neglect yourself when you’re busy, so you should eat before it gets cold,” Riki murmured, walking round the table and leaning against it, standing beside Jungwon.
Jungwon nodded, his heart fluttering at the thoughtful action. He wasted no time in digging in and finished the food in the span of ten minutes. When he was done, he wiped his mouth with a piece of tissue paper, only to pause when he saw Riki staring at him, his gaze unwavering. Jungwon squirms about, feeling nervous.
“Riki—!?”
He didn’t finish his sentence, not when Riki kissed him squarely on the lips. It was by instinct that Jungwon relaxed, eyelids fluttering shut as he returned the kiss. He wrapped his arms around his husband’s shoulders, pulling him closer. But Riki had another idea. With one smooth movement and without breaking the kiss, Riki pinned Jungwon against his desk, sliding his knee in between the other’s legs, forcing him to spread them. Jungwon’s breath hitched at the feeling of Riki’s knee coming into contact with his cock, sending heat down to his lower area.
“Ngh, Riki —w-we can’t —not here,” he whined, feeling light-headed when Riki parted his lips and harshly sucked on his tongue. The office room was filled with the loud, lewd sounds of lips smacking and muffled sounds.
“Shh, no one’ll find out. Just be quiet, alright? Can you do that for me?” Riki shushes, lips grazing against Jungwon’s, eyes focused on his husband’s face.
If anything, Jungwon was a weak, weak man for Riki. He nodded and Riki grinned, the sight making his cock twitch in the constraints of his pants.
“Good boy,” Riki purrs, the praise eliciting a breathless mewl from Jungwon.
Riki ducked his head, trailing kisses down the expanse of Jungwon’s neck. Jungwon tilted his head back, granting him access—to which Riki hums in satisfaction at his submission. While Riki’s lips were busy leaving bitemarks and hickeys on his skin, his hands wandered about, lovingly tracing the outline of Jungwon’s body before sliding past the hem of his pants and boxers, boldly wrapping his hand around Jungwon’s half-hard cock.
“Fuck!” Jungwon gasped, clutching onto the table for dear life with one hand while the other gripped onto Riki’s shoulder.
Riki thumbs the silt, chuckling at how precome stained his finger. He moved his hand in an up and down motion, slowly jerking him off. Jungwon bit down on his lip, hard enough to elicit pain but not hard enough to draw blood. The last thing he wants is to draw unnecessary attention from the staff. Riki detached his lips from Jungwon’s neck, wanting to see his husband falling apart.
Jungwon couldn’t help but cant his hips forward, whining at the feeling of Riki’s calloused fingers against his cock. “R-Riki— gonna — hah.”
“Yeah? You wanna cum, baby?” Riki coos, his free hand making itself at home on his slender waist, covering nearly half of his waist.
“Please.”
“Then cum,” Riki demands, lightly squeezing his cock and that was enough for Jungwon to tip over the edge.
Riki had to muffle his sounds by crashing their lips together in a sloppy kiss as Jungwon reaches his climax. Riki broke the kiss, resting their foreheads together but the moment was broken when Jungwon scrunched his nose in disgust.
“Ugh, now my pants are dirty,” he complained.
Laughing, his husband kissed his forehead. “Don’t worry, I have an extra pair of pants you can borrow.”
Jungwon eyes him suspiciously, watching as Riki pulls his stained hand out of his pants, grabbing a packet of wet tissues and cleaning them up. “Did you plan this?”
“I would never. I won’t dare to have sex in the office,” the younger replied, pausing to lean in, eyes gleaming in mischief. “Unless, you’re not opposed to it.”
“Riki! ”
~
The following morning, Jungwon arrived wearing a dark turtleneck, the thick fabric acting as a huge contrast to his usual attire. His steps were deliberate, posture a little more rigid than usual, as if he was trying to hide something—which, of course, he was. As he made his way down the hallway to the lounge, he could feel eyes following him. A few nurses exchanged curious glances while others whispered among themselves. Jungwon could already tell where this was going.
When he entered the staff lounge, a couple of doctors looked up. “Hey, Dr. Yang, new fashion choice?” One of them called out with a grin. “This doesn’t look like your usual look.”
Jungwon forced a smile. “Just felt like changing it up a bit,” he muttered, hoping they would drop the subject. But it seems like luck wasn’t on his side, as always.
“Isn’t it a bit… warm for a turtleneck?” another nurse asked, eyebrows raised. “You usually go for something lighter. Unless you’re not feeling well.”
Jungwon’s face flushed slightly, but he quickly masked it with his usual calm demeanor. He cleared his throat. "I’m fine. It’s just comfortable."
A third nurse, who had been listening intently, piped up, her voice filled with curiosity. "So, is this some new trend, or are you hiding something?"
Jungwon froze for a split second, brain coming to an abrupt halt and before he could come up with an excuse, Riki entered the room. His gaze flickered over Jungwon, a mischievous smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. The moment he saw the turtleneck, his eyes twinkled with amusement.
“Ah, I see someone’s trying to keep a low profile today,” he commented, languidly strolling over to Jungwon’s side, arm stretching out to wrap itself around his waist. “But you know, it’s not exactly subtle.”
This cannot be happening.
Jungwon shot Riki a warning glare but he ignored it. The staff exchanged confused looks, but before anyone could comment further, Riki dropped the bomb.
“I didn’t think it was that bad last night,” he laughed, glancing at his husband before turning his attention to the others. “Would you disagree, dear husband? ”
The room fell silent.
Jungwon’s face turned as red as a tomato. He stared at the floor as if it was the most interesting thing in the world, desperately wishing for a hole to magically appear to swallow him whole. The nurses and doctors froze, eyes widening in realization.
“You… you two?” A nurse stammered, eyes darting between the two mem.
Jungwon wanted to protest, but Riki was faster, his grin widening.
“Yeah, us.” He waved. “I’m his husband, folks. Nice to meet you.”
While everyone was still trying to process the shocking news, Riki took this as his cue to leave the room, dragging Jungwon with him. They headed to Riki’s office, which was nearer as compared to Jungwon’s office.
“I can’t believe you actually told them!” Jungwon exclaimed the moment the door was closed.
Riki laughed, leaning against the door. “Did you expect me to keep my mouth shut and let them continue spreading baseless rumors?”
Jungwon blinks, his mind slowly connecting the dots. “...Don’t tell me you were jealous.”
“I was not,” he answered at the speed of light, resulting in Jungwon arching an eyebrow, not believing him. “Why would I be jealous of Heeseung Hyung?”
“I didn’t say anything about Heeseung Hyung,” Jungwon pointed out and he knew he had caught Riki red-handed when he cursed under his breath.
Chuckling, Jungwon approached Riki and cupped his face, heart melting at how his husband leaned into his touch. “Riki, you don’t have to be jealous. You know that I’m yours, forever and ever.”
Riki sighed, resting his hands above Jungwon’s. “Yeah, I know. But I just want other people to know that too.”
Jungwon snickered. “Well, I think they do now.”
