They say that there is a pokemon trainer stronger than any other, even Leon. No one knows who they are, some say he’s a man and others a woman. They call this mysterious person Nachteule, because they are only ever seen at night. They say Nachteule has a team of dragons, with the exception of their shiny Salazzle and a mysterious pokemon riding a shadow horse. Many people don’t believe in Nachteule’s existence.
They’re the strongest trainer in the world, and the most elusive. Out of Nachteule’s entire team, the pokemon that stands out the most is their Garchomp. This garchomp is said to be the most powerful pokemon alive, capable of defeating Leon’s entire team on its own.
Nachteule has minty green hair that reaches their torso. They’re alway wearing extravagant outfits, whether it be their adventurer’s dress or princely bird-like suit. They say that Nachteule has been around for centuries, but stories started being told around fifteen years ago in the Paldea region. No one knows the true age of Nachteule, or if they’re even real.

Archie is currently in the north of Glaseado Mountain, training his Garchomp against some ice type pokemon when he’s approached by a white haired man in aviation attire. Archie ignores the man, but that doesn’t prevent him from trying to talk to Archie.
“Hey!”
The trainer yells another command to his Garchomp, ignoring the other. He smiles and tries again. “Hello! I’m Friede,” He says, holding out his hand.
Archie rolls his eyes. “Garchomp, use draco meteor! You’re close to mastering it, I can tell!”
Friede watches the pokemon use the powerful move with awe. “Wow, the legends are true. Nachteule’s main pokemon partner is an incredible Garchomp.”
The trainer’s eyes widen and snap onto Friede. “What did you say?”
“You’re not exactly making it hard to figure out,” Friede teases, looking up and down Archie. “You’re wearing the outfit from the myths. Speaking of, how come you aren’t cold? It’s like, twelve degrees out here and you’re wearing a dress?”
Archie turns away from his Garchomp, letting him handle the training on his own, and he crosses his arms. “What do you want, Friede?”
Friede grins. “I’m building a crew of adventurers! We’re going to ride a flying airship and travel the world!”
“Okay?” Archie’s eyes narrow. “Why are you telling me this?”
“We need a defense system,” Friede explains. “I want you. There’s no one better to defend the airship!”
“...No.” Archie turns away and continues shouting tips to his pokemon.
Friede’s smile doesn’t falter, however. “You’re training, right?”
The legend sighs. “Yes. Now leave.”
“What if I battle you,” Friede asks eagerly. “One on one. If I win, you join the Rising Volt Tacklers. If you win, I’ll leave you alone. Deal?”
Archie grins at him. “You think you can beat me?”
Friede nods in determination. “I’m sure. Let's do it!”
“Fine, send your partner out.”
The white haired man sends out the Pikachu that was on his shoulder. “Go on, Cap!”
Archie raises an eyebrow. “You’re sending an electric type out against a ground type?” Friede grins and nods. Archie sighs. “Garchomp, return. I’ll make this easier on you.”
The myth sends out an Altaria, a flying dragon type pokemon. “Ready?”
“I’ve been ready for this battle for years.”
Archie shouts to Altaria, “Go, use sky attack!” The bird flies in the air and attacks the pikachu. Pikachu flinches and Altaria attacks again.
Friede yells, “Go Cap, use thunderbolt!”
Altaria dodges the attack and flies high in the air. Cap looks around for the Altaria, but he can’t see in the mist. “Cap, use rising volt tackle!”
Archie raises an eyebrow. “He won’t hit Altaria with mist this thick and Altaria that high up.”
“You’ll see.” Archie’s eyes widen as Cap creates an electric tornado and runs up it. When the tornado is gone, Cap is in the air like he’s flying.
“Woah,” the trainer says in awe. “How is he doing that?”
Friede grins. “Cap wanted to watch the sunrise from the perfect angle, so he learned how to fly.”
“That’s…” Archie grins brightly, brighter than he has in a while, “Incredible! We’re still gonna win though. Altaria, use dragon rush!”
Alaria uses the dragon type move, hitting Cap out of the air. The pokemon is about to hit the ground at high speeds, when he uses his tail to change his momentum. “He’s incredible,” Archie says in amazement, more excited for a battle than he has been since he beat Leon.
“I told you,” Friede says in determination, “We’re going to beat you and make you join the Rising Volt Tacklers!”
The battle continues on for what feels like forever, the two pokemon throwing out powerful attacks one after the other, but in reality it’s just a few minutes before Altaria takes Cap out with dragon pulse.
Friede picks Cap up, and Archie hands him a revive. “That was amazing. Cap is one of the few who have ever kept up with me for that long.”
“We only lasted a few minutes,” Friede sighs, giving the pokemon the revive. “I’m sorry for bothering you. I hope we meet again some time.”
Archie smiles at Friede. “No need. I’m going with you.”
“...What?” Friede looks at the other with wide eyes. “But… but we lost?”
“Friede, that was the best pokemon battle I’ve had in years!” Archie smiles brighter and gets close to Friede in his excitement. “If I can have battles like that often, yeah I’ll join your crew!”
“You mean it?” The other man cheers. “We’ll battle all the time! Cap is going to want a rematch, after all!”
“Hell yeah! I’m fired up!”
And that’s how the legendary Nachteule joined the Rising Volt Tacklers
