Chapter Text
A White light blinded izuku as he fluttered his eyes open. 'What happened?' he sat up, confused as he looked around. right.... He was at the school roof. Realisation dawned on him.
He'd jumped...
Wait.... He what?!
Izuku looked around in panic. 'How was he on the roof?! He remembered the soft breeze blowing through his hair right before he-.... Right before he jumped. Then how was he alive? Maybe a hero saved him?' Thoughts consumed him whole. His body going still.
He looked around for a while, looking for any signs of a hero. But when he didn't find any, much to his confusion, he finally looked down. Izuku was going insane. Because either this was all a fucked up prank or he finally went crazy.
Izuku's body was lying lifeless on the ground below. His lush green hair sticky with blood. Paramedics surrounded him, carrying him into an ambulance. But izuku was right there. Standing on the roof that took away so much from him. He couldn't believe his eyes.
He was a ghost...
Normally, the greenette didn't believe in ghosts. It was bullshit from the pre-quirk era. But now was one. He didn't know how to react to that. Hell, he didn't even know how to feel.
Well, he did honestly. He felt numb. He felt like there was a thick blanket surrounding him, muffling the sounds. The only thing he could feel was the wind and it didn't do him any favours.
But he didn't know how to feel. He looked at his lifeless body, regret weighing him down. He looked at his hands. He looked very much alive. But he wasn't. He knew it. Because Midoriya izuku didn't deny hard facts. And his death.... Was a cold hard truth he had to come to terms with.
............
Hawks was absolutely traumatized. He had seen deaths as a hero but everytime it was a child, his heart broke. Worst part was, he was so close to saving this child. This child that was probably broken by the world..... Just like he was.
It was a normal day of patrolling for him. A few arrests and frankly not much. What was intresting was this kid, probably a middle schooler standing on the ledge of a very high roof.
He rushed in. His wings soaring in the sky, he got close to the kid. He had dark green hair, blowing in the wind and What broke his heart the most was the defeated look on the kid's face. He knew that look. Hawks was no stranger to loss. And he knew the kid had lost something very dear to him.
He hated how selfish he felt for trying to save the kid. A goddamn child. From committing suicide. But he couldn't bring himself to not care. He tried to swoop in and save the day, hawks style. Funny how out of all the times he could fail, he failed this time.
He saw the kid's body hit the ground with a sickening thud, blood splattering all over the ground. Time was moving in slow motion for hawks. An ambulance pulled up, paramedics rushing out to help the kid. The kid he failed to save...
............
Izuku stared at the sky, not wanting to face the consequences of his actions. But the would come along eventually.
He was slowly starting to hear better. Keyword: slowly. He still felt like there was water in his ears. He could hear the faint sound of sirens. He grimaced at that.
A ghost. He was an actual ghost. Now, izuku didn't curse a lot but holy shit.... You would think he was starting to regret his decision of taking his own life but that's far from the truth. Infact, izuku was finally at peace. He was walking on the streets like a normal person. He felt like a normal person for once. Nobody was judging him. Nobody treated him like shit. It was blissful.
That lasted for a while. Eventually, everything comes to an end. Even for a ghost. Izuku was staring at his reflection (weren't ghosts supposed to be invisible?) he looked... horrible.
His hair was soaked in blood and there was a bone sticking out of his leg. For a second he wondered how he could even walk. There was a crack in his skull. But somehow, everything seemed paused in time. The blood wasnt flowing, it was just.... there. He tried to wipe it off and like he predicted, the blood was stuck in place. How fun....
This gave izuku a chance to dress up. Mostly because he was going to throw up if he looked at himself longer. Halloween was his life now and that fact was slightly amusing to him.
He didn't know how he managed to not be visible to other people after putting on a costume but he couldn't care less.... Well, maybe he cared a little but that was a problem for future izuku. One that's dead anyway.
He'd picked a ghost outfit (how original) and was now strolling on the road, phasing through cars. That was when izuku saw hawks. The hero was probably heading home, looking tired as hell. He definitely had a tough day at work.
And izuku... Being izuku followed him. He hadn't gotten an opportunity to speak to or just look at a hero after... After that incident but he was glad he could observe in peace now. Plus the analysis, so he really was having fun and no harm done!
He also wanted to find out why the hero looked this bad. Don't get him wrong, normally hawks would be smiling or teasing his fans. The hero was sassy like that. But seeing hawks look so... traumatized gave izuku a weird feeling.
He will get to the bottom of this.
..........
Hawks got home... Eventually. He wasnt in the best of moods. The feeling of guilt hung heavy in his apartment. He'd been informed that the kid didn't survive. It was expected, really. He knew the moment the kid's body hit the ground, he was dead and all because hawks failed.
He looked in the mirror with dull eyes. Clearly, the situation was hard for him. He was thankful to the police officers who offered to do the paperwork for him and inform the kid's guardians.
Bright green eyes pierced through the mirror. Hawks stepped back, shaking his head. Was he hallucinating? He looked in the mirror again to see a kid. No... It was the kid. He blinked.
The kid looked disheveled, Much like himself. He was staring at hawks with wife eyes, like he was surprised hawks could see him. He was wearing.... Was that a ghost costume? He squinted his eyes at the mirror, hoping for it all to be a nightmare. That was when the kid spoke....
"Can you see me..?"
Chapter 2

Chapter Text
"Can you see me?"
Hawks was having a heart attack. Well, he wasn't exactly having one but he's seeing ghosts. So he's probably dying. How fun...
"I-..." He tried to answer the kid, now a ghost but his throat was tight. The overwhelming guilt of not being able to save the kid swallowing him. He tried again, not wanting to leave the greenette confused.
"I can.." he replies, taking a deep breath. The kid looks like his whole world fell apart. Normally, hawks would laugh at the funny expression the kid was making but now, he wanted to cry.
"Are you okay?" He stumbles on his words, doing a mental face palm at how the words seem rushed, even to him. The kid must've noticed his tense posture as he quickly nods his head, his fluffy green hair bouncing as he does.
"I'm sorry" is the next thing that comes out of hawks' mouth, his head down in shame. He looks up to see the kid shaking his head. "Don't be... I'm happier now." The kid's smile makes hawks want to hug him. He steps forward, not being able to control himself. This was a child. A child that was happier being dead.
.........
Izuku flinches as hawks steps forward. He knew it was wrong of him to follow the hero but he didn't expect the hero to be so angry as to hit him! No... Hawks would never do that. Izuku takes a deep breath as he looks up at the hero.
Hawks had a gentle expression on his face, sympathy radiating off of him. Izuku was no stranger to sympathy. Whenever he told people he was quirkless, he either got sympathy or downright disgust. It was.... annoying.
Hawks on the other hand, noticed izuku's face shift into something akin to anger. It was confusing to see the kid look terrified one second and terrifying the next. He quickly took a step back, letting the kid breathe. If he could, that is.
He sees the kid sigh while taking a step back. The kid looks at him and opens his mouth, struggling to find the right words. "I... I don't know what will happen if you touch me" he finally says, looking away.
Oh.... Oh
"is this your quirk?" Hawks asks, his words making izuku freeze. A quirk. is this all a quirk? He wants to laugh, maybe kacchan was right after all. "I don't know" he sighs "I've been quirkless my whole life. So... I don't really know."
quirkless...
The kid was quirkless. That explained so much yet nothing at the same time. The tired eyes, the red shoes, the (successful) attempt at his life. But what threw hawks in confusion was the kid standing in front of him, now a ghost.
"I can help" hawks clenches his fists, green eyes meeting his. "I-i know someone. If this is a quirk, he'll know." Eraserhead... The only person he could think of right now. But ofcourse, that came with its own risks.
"Are you talking about... Eraserhead?" The kid asks casually if it were normal for him to know the erasure hero who was very much underground.
Hawks nods his head, both surprised and impressed by the kid's knowledge. He was going to help this kid. He needed to. He'd already failed once...
In a moment of motivation and guilt, hawks tried to grab the kid's hand, which did not work obviously. Honestly, sometimes hawks himself doesn't know why he's a hero. A faint blush creeping onto his cheeks from all the embarrassment, he opens the door to his apartment "I'm taking you to him."
Izuku shook his head. He didn't want to trouble the hero more than he already did. "It's fine... You don't really have to.." he looked down. "No, i insist. It's the least I can do" After failing my duty. He doesn't add.
The greenette sighed. He was going to regret this.
...........
Shouta was cornered by a villain with a mutant quirk. He was trying to catch him for a few days but now, shout had to escape. He knew his quirk didn't work well against mutant quirks and he was too injured for hand to hand combat
The villain was sent flying. Wait... What? Shouta whipped his head up and saw hawks. The winged hero kicking the villain's ass. He quickly got up and assisted hawks in taking the villain down. "What are you doing here? This isn't your area and this certainly isn't your time of patrolling." Shouta glared at hawks, the villain successfully captured. Now, don't get him wrong. He was thankful for the sudden appearance because he might've been dead by now if it weren't for hawks. He was just... Curious.
Hawks smiled sheepishly before replying. "Can you see-" he gestures to the space beside him "-this kid here?". Shouta raised an eyebrow "don't tell me you're on drugs". "No! Of course not!" Hawks spluttered. Yeah... Shouta believed that. A hundred percent.
"I need your help" the stern expression on the other hero's face surprises shouta. He nods gesturing for him to continue. "There's a kid beside me. I think he has a ghost quirk but he says he's been quirkless his whole life. He... And he just died today, i was there..".
Nope. absolutely not. The erasure hero turned around, ready to walk away while his hand was grabbed by hawks. He sighed, activating his quirk. Well, for starters he didn't really feel the presence of any quirk besides hawks'. He glared at hawks, his voice cold "i don't have time for your pranks".
Hawks shook his head, immediately defending himself "it's not a prank i swear!". Shouta groaned. He did not get paid enough for this. "Fine then, let's go to tsukauchi" he suggested. If this wasn't a prank, then he was in for a Huge headache.

Lol I love torturing characters (i know I'm a sadist)
Hope you enjoyed this chapter though! I want to finish this fic as soon as I can.
Chapter 3
Summary:
Aizawa and hawks meet up with tsukauchi.
Chapter Text
"so eraser, you wanted to see me?" Tsukauchi asks, eyeing both the heroes infront of him. It wasn't very often he saw an underground hero, especially eraserhead with a twilight hero other than Nemuri.
"Yes, i need your help in a... Case" shouta sighs, looking at hawks. The winged hero immediately taked the signal and starts talking "i know a ghost."...
Both the heroes blink, looking at tsukauchi who was gripping his stomach in laughter. "Ha.. I'm sorry. What did you say?" He wipes a tear. Hawks glares at tsukauchi "i said, i know a ghost. Well, i just got to know him but yeah.." he looks over at tsukauchi, daring him to laugh again.
If Nemuri was here, she would be grinning like a maniac. Shouta's lips quirk up slightly to the mental image of his friend colleague enjoying the chaos. "Eraser... He's not lying"
Shouta grunts in understanding. He knew ofcourse. Hawks had a glint of honesty and guilt in his eyes and shouta was an underground hero. He was trained to notice these things. "Are you the only one who can see this ghost friend of yours?" He asks, making hawks look to his side.
.........
Hawks was pretty sure he was the only one who could see the kid. Still, he wanted to make sure "um... Kid? How much of your visibility can you control?". He looks at the kid who has a confused look on his face.
"I.. i don't really know" izuku puts a hand upto his chin. Could he make himself visible to others? The thought excited him. His condition was similar to a quirk. He puts his hand on hawks' shoulder, concentrating all his energy into it.
Hawks on the other hand, feels the kid's (he really needed to ask for a name) cold hand on his shoulder. "Woah... You're cold" his tongue slips, making the detective and eraserhead raise an eyebrow. "Oh! Sorry..." The greenette pulls his hand back. If he could touch things on command then It was very likely that he could control his visibility.
Shouta's eyes widened at the sight of a flickering figure beside hawks. Tsukauchi gave him a look and mouthed "are you sure this is not just a quirk?". He shook his head. If this was a quirk, he could feel it. Right now, however he felt like fainting. Because Aizawa shoura did not believe in ghosts
...........
Hawks had to be the mediator between izuku and the other men. It was tiring, sure but he didn't mind helping the kid. "Izuku says he happy to meet you all." He'd finally gotten the name of this kid after entering tsukauchi's office.
The detective smiled "it's nice to meet you too izuku. Is that your full name?". Izuku shifts, a distant smile creeping onto his lips. "Is it necessary?" He looks at hawks who just shrugs. Sighing, he decides it's for the best "Midoriya. Midoriya izuku, That's my full name. But I'd prefer if you call me izuku" he smiles, waiting for hawks to get the message across.
.......
Time flies by in tsukauchi's office. Izuku, bless his soul was still a bundle of energy. Everyone else almost passed out. They'd tried a few things last night. Like, testing out izuku's abilities and eraserhead trying to escape. He didn't blame the hero for that, though.
"So, izuku. How did you sleep?" Tsukauchi, his head still on the table asks. Izuku could catch a glimpse of annoyance on his face, immediately making him feel guilty of stealing too much of the detective's time.
"I.. i don't sleep. Ghost, remember?" he says sheepishly, looking at the tired detective. He receives no answer. Oh... Hawks was asleep. That moment, an idea crosses the greenette's mind. He musters up all the energy he could and picks up a pen. The detective looks up at the noise, his eyes widening as he sees a pen casually float up to the table.
He picks the paper after pen seems to stop. 'i don't sleep' is written in a messy handwriting. An 'oh' manages to escape his lips. "You know izuku, since you're technically dead, you don't have to be here long." He says, not wanting to pressure the kid into staying with them. Afterall, it was the kid's buisness whether he wanted to or not.
Izuku shakes his head, he would love to stay with these people. They were super nice! He quickly took the pen and started scribbling on the paper.
'I will leave if I'm an inconvenience but I loved spending time with you guys :)'. This kid... Tsukauchi's heart clenched. The kid liked his time with him... He smiled at the note, his chest filling with a.... Weird feeling.
.........
Izuku was swinging his legs , sitting on the detective's desk. The three were deciding on what to do now But the greenette didn't really care. "I will be happy to accompany him. He's a good kid." Tsukauchi says, smiling. "What? But you can't even see him! Let alone talk to him." Hawks cuts him off.
Shouta sighs. Was this kid really all that? "Stop it you two. The kid's a ghost, Let him do whatever he wants. I'm sure he's dealt with enough shit in his life.". Hawks tenses at that "yeah.. sorry izuku" he looks at the kid who just smiles brightly at the hero.
The detective agrees. He wasnt dumb. He read the news and well, it wasn't pretty. They'd left out questions about the kid's death to make him feel more comfortable but he knew. He knew before hawks told him '"I was so- so close tsukauchi".
He sighs, getting back to work. It was entirely up to izuku now. He lets the two heroes leave, watching from a distance wondering if izuku gad left.
Izuku, on the other had was having fun. He could go wherever he wanted! He vould analyse quirks up close. He grinned mischievously, getting down from the detective's desk. Oh, he was going to have so much fun....
Chapter 4
Summary:
Spending a day with tsukauchi! (And hawks) and scaring the shit out of everyone else.
Chapter Text
Tsukauchi was doing paperwork. He wasn't too excited about it but the man didn't hate it. He assumed izuku had left with hawks since the hero was the only one who could see him. The detective sat in silence, papers sprawled across his desk.
The lights flickered and tsukauchi blinked. He was pretty sure this month's electricity bill was paid. He'd even checked the circuits himself the previous day. Suddenly, the papers were flying everywhere. He sighed, grabbing onto a paper amongst the mess and placing it on his desk. The said paper seemed to have something written on it which the detective swore wasn't there before.
'just thought you could use some chaos in your life ;)'. Oh.. it turns out izuku hadn't gone with hawks afterall. A small smile played on his lips as he rearranged the papers. This needed some getting used to but tsukauchi didn't mind. Rather, he kind of liked the kid's company.
.......
Meanwhile, izuku was having the time of his un-life. He went around pranking all the officers in the police station. It was fun, honestly. He'd almost gotten a lecture from tsukauchi, but he didn't. Being a ghost saves you from a lot more than you think.
He lurked in the corridors, studying some documents and occasionally peeking at the criminals being brought in. It hadn’t surprised him, seeing such vile people. In fact, he’d felt sympathy for them at some point considering those ‘villains’ were also kids at one point. He distantly recalled a saying he once heard “Villains aren’t born, they’re made” and he couldn’t agree more.
He turned around to walk into tsukauchi’s office but instead of an empty hallway or unfazed workers, he saw a cat-like man, cowering on the floor. Wait- was this guy looking at him? Is that even possible? He looked around and slowly pointed a finger towards himself, mouthing ‘me?’. In response, the man retreated further into the corner.
The greenette sighed as the detective Incharge walked in. Just in time! The boy flew into the office. Apparently he could do that too now. It sure was fun learning about his new form. Grinning, he sat at the detective’s chair and started reading the new case file on the desk, intrigued.
Tsukaushi Naomasa was not someone who was caught off guard easily. You’d think with all the years working as a detective, he’d seen just about everything. But see, life liked to fuck with people who hated it the most, it was funny like that. Seeing Sansa shriveled up in a corner like he’s seen a ghost was- oh… oh. He sympathized with the guy he really did. He also had an idea about people with animal-type mutant quirks were likely to see ghosts, is they existed that is.
The man sighed, helping his coworker up. “Sorry. That kid was involved in a case I was working on” not entirely a lie but, it was also not the whole truth. Whatever, he had to focus on maintaining the peace in his workplace. They sat on the ground for a while, tsukauchi’s hand resting on the other man’s shoulder.
”Hey can I ask you something?” Sansa nodded. “What did the kid look like?” The detective whispered as if asking the code to some safe. The other, having calmed down replied,”Terrifying”. He wasn’t wrong, izuku was in a horrible condition physically. Though the same could be assumed about his mental state, the kid was rather good at being hard to read.
Tsukauchi nodded, not yet satisfied with the other’s answer but he let it go. Maybe some other time, he would be able see the kid for himself. He got up and helped Sansa get back to whatever he was doing. He will need to hand the boy over to hawks again at this point. Sighing, he dialed the winged man’s number on his phone.
……
It was around lunch time, that he saw hawks drop by with his usual dramatic entrance. The heroes should really organize a 'who can do the best dramatic entrance' contest. It would be fun to watch.
The greenette grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He sneaked up behind hawks. It was a little troublesome since the hero could actually see him but turns out all his experience hiding from bullies came in handy. With a quick 'boo!', he managed to to send the hero flying towards the ceiling.
"H-hey izuku. Didn't see you there" hawks laughed awkwardly. The hero didn't want to make a fool out of himself thank you very much. He spared a glance towards the ghost who was peacefully ruining another person's day. The hero sighed, he'd expected the kid to be shy and sweet but this.... The devil himself would fear this.
"Soo... Detective, how is izuku holding up?" He asks, rubbing the back of his neck while Tsukauchi just glared at him. If looks could kill, hawks would be dead by the sheer look of exhaustion on the other man's face. He winces "i think know now...". That earned him a sigh from the detective.
.........
How did hawks, the number three hero end up being incharge of babysitting a ghost? A ghost? It was amusing, really. Putting up with a chaotic kid and hero work? Yeah, no thanks but hawks just couldn't deny now could he?
The look on Tsukauchi's face was enough to make the hero accept. I mean, how could he not? The poor guy looked exhausted. Hawks sighed, stepping into his apartment with izuku.
"Now, how about we eat something?" Do ghosts even eat?? Well, you can't expect him to know everything right? Izuku, who was practically radiating happiness blinked in response. "Haha .. silly me. Ghosts don't eat right?" The question makes izuku stop. For starters, he'd never tried to eat after dying.
The next thing they know, they're sitting nervously infront two of katsudon bowls. Izuku had mentioned they were his favourite once and the hero couldn't help but order it. It was a bit too early but the boy was already conquering his heart.
Izuku hesitantly took a bite. Well, he tried to before the bite fell out of his mouth. Huh... So ghosts couldn't eat. What a bummer..
The pout on his face catches hawks' attention. "Something wrong?" He asks, his heart melting at the puppy dog eyes izuku was making. "I can't eat" the greenette replies, his voice breaking and feeling totally depressed. The boy had survived so much of his life off of his mom’s kastudon. Oh no.. his mom! What has he done. His sweet, innocent mother. Why hadn’t this crossed his mind before? Why, why, why!?
Hawks stared at the kid as his eyes went wide, hot, fat tears rolling down his cheek and promptly stopping at his chin, frozen in time. The hero was good at consoling people, not ghosts. He tried his best to stop the kid from crying. "H-hey! Don't cry!" He awkwardly pats the kid's shoulder. Whacking his brain, the hero finally comes up with a good idea "you like heroes right?" Izuku nods "how about we spend a day with one!" The hero clasps his hands, completely forgetting about his job.
"Are'nt you a hero?" The greenette laughed, finding hawks' little slip-up amusing. "Well.." he trailed off, more embarrassed than anything. He was cut off by izuku's giggling "but sure. We can do that" and with that, hero's smile brightened.
The greenette ignored the way his heart burned. He didn’t want to worry the hero again, not after how much he’s done for izuku. He shook his head, wanting to shake off the thoughts, the guilt and the regret. He smiled trying to focus on his new mission, annoying the hell out of other heroes aswell! Quite marvelous if you ask him.
Chapter 5
Summary:
Meeting another hero! +izuku being an entity of angst (very light) and chaos.
Chapter Text
Izuku tried to forget about the tears threatening to spill. He hadn’t thought this through and thinking about it now, wasn’t going to change a thing. He wiped the tears that were floating about his cheeks and smiled at the hero before him. His mom didn’t need him. He was always getting in trouble and inconveniencing her. She was going to be just fine without him. Maybe he will too…
Hawks was an idiot. This much was obvious by now. He promised the greenette that he would let him torture ah- interview another hero. Endeavor would definitely kill him if he let the kid mess with the man’s work. He whacked his brain for more options. Eraserhead? No, that black haired man would make sure hawks went through hell. Besides, izuku had already met the man. wait- Midnight! Though she was an r-rated hero, She was good with kids. And the blonde is sure she won’t mind the little ghost brat.
The winged hero cheered. “Guess who we’re meeting izuku!” He chirped, making the smaller boy’s eyes gleam with curiosity. “I would guess you were taking me to endeavor but let’s be honest here, he’s not fun to be around. Eraserhead-San is also out of the question considering I already met him. Hmm.. tricky. How about present mic-San or mirko-san?! Ooh I would love to meet any one or both! but I don’t think they’ll be available at the moment.
Wow. This kid was sure something. Hawks tried to maintain his composure as he asked, “and why’s that” the kid’s answer immediately made him regret his life choices. “Ah, that’s because they’re not in Japan at the moment and after filtering through the options, my best guess is Midnight-San!” izuku beamed, unable to see the look of utter horror on the other’s face.
What..? The hero was now terrified of the kid. Present mic’s and Mirko’s mission abroad was classified information. Even he didn’t know that until recently. And what did the kid mean by ‘filtering through options’? He absolutely did not want to know.
With a tremble in his step he lead the way to midnight’s agency. “Here we are! Uh- I guess it’s not really a surprise anymore” he sulked. “Oh no no! I would never have guessed!” The kid grinned. But you did, hawks doesn’t say.
….
“Why hello there my second favorite blondie!” Midnight smirked, startling hawks. He really needed to get his shit together. He waved and let himself in her office. “I would like you to meet someone midnight”. “oh please, call me kayama. And is this someone in the room with us or..?” She put her hands on her hips, raising an eyebrow.
The blonde gulped. This would be hard to explain. “Yes. He’s a ghost you see” on cue, midnight burst out laughing. The hero sighed, he’d been expecting this kind of reaction. “I’m serious kayama” she wiped a tear from her eye and looked at the other, grinning like a maniac.
First off, izuku was offended but he couldn’t blame the heroine for not believing in hawks. He didn’t believe in ghosts too… until he became one. He sighed, it was time for him to show everyone what he could really do.
He got up from his seat and smacked a stack of paper off the desk. He then proceeded to spin then around and mess with the lights. Satisfied with the shocked expression on midnight’s face, he sat back down. His shit-eating grin sending shivers down hawks’ spine.
You see, he’d gotten better at channeling his energy after his stay at the police station. How else could he have pulled off all those stunts.
“I believe you” the heroine whispered, her eyes still wide from shock. “Don’t worry, the kid’s harmless… mostly.” kid? this ghost was a kid? And she’s not even gonna question why hawks said ‘mostly’. “Are you the only person who can communicate with him? And are you sure this isn’t a quirk?”.
“Yes, I’m positive. I saw his.. uh- dead body myself.” The hero gulped. “Stress induced quirks aren’t unheard of but we checked with eraserhead.” That made the bluenette pause. “Did his appearance change?” She asked, intrigued. “Why does that matter?” Yes, hawks could say the boy’s appearance changed but he wasn’t sure what that had to do with anything.
“It could be a mutant-type” izuku face-palmed at midnight’s statement. Though she appeared to have a point, someone who’d done as much research on quirks as izuku would know better. But before he could say that, hawks gasped and nodded in agreement.
….
Mutant-type huh. That could explain the kid’s condition. Why didn’t hawks think of this first?! They might need to confront Aizawa again soon. “Thanks kayama. Now we can be sure about izuku being a ghost or not!” He chirped. “That’s a cute name” the bluenette smiled before dialing her tired friend’s number.
“As if! I live for his shenanigans.” the winged hero saw kayama’s eyes light up (which was never a good sign). Hawks tensed up, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead as he looked at the greenette, who shot him a quick glare. Yeah, he definitely deserved that. Whatever was going to happen would be chaotic for sure. the blonde shrugged, at least izuku and him were getting closure. (Though the teen didn’t really look happy about it).
These heroes seriously needed better knowledge on quirks. Izuku could teach them if they they would just listen to him! He sighed, leaning back in his chair. If you can’t defeat them, join them! A mischievous smirk spread across the greenette’s face.
Let the chaos begin…
Besides, the two looked like they were having fun. Well, midnight-san did and He definitely did not want to disrupt that. His life decisions were already fucked up questionable, the boy didn’t have much to loose.
Additional scene:
“Absolutely not. We both know how much of a menace he is around kids.”
“But- but- I am positive if someone can help us, it’s him.”
“Nedzu being the only option doesn’t make him the best and you know that nem. I can practically hear that rat cackling right now.”
“I do, I do. But you can’t blame me for loving the chaos.”
“Don’t come crying to me if that demon finally achieves his dream of world domination.”
Notes:
I’m not promising anything losers!! Jk I really need to push myself ><
Chapter 6

Chapter Text
UA was huge. The little ghost seemed to be fascinated by everything and everyone. Hawks smiled endearingly as the boy’s eyes sparkled. Maybe this idea wasn’t so bad. Kayama was a pro hero. She surely knew what she was doing. Right?
Wrong.
The trio entered nedzu’s office. Well, midnight just slammed the door open, but same thing right? The chimera looked up from his monitor, his gaze immediately turning to izuku.
Fuck..
Nedzu could see him.
The winged hero was now very concerned for the green bean. Let’s be honest, nedzu isn’t exactly known for his parenting. No, he’s known to corrupt every damn ‘potential genius’ he sees. The colour drained from his face as he saw the damn rat smile in amusement. Now, he may sound like Aizawa while saying this but it’s too damn early for this shit.
The r-rated hero plopped down on a chair enthusiastically and started talking like she didn’t just see that happen. Well, maybe she didn’t (see or care, hawks didn’t know). The heroine adjusted her glasses “I think I’ve told you everything you need to know. Also, why are you just staring at a corner?”.
The principal’s grin only grew wider as his eyes glinted with interest. “I must say nemuri, you’ve found quite the ghost.” He chuckles to himself and hawks really wants to jump through a window right now. He turns towards the greenette who’s just as surprised and turns back before the kid could give him a death glare.
“But unfortunately, your theory regarding- izuku, was it?-“ kayama nods “-is wrong. Your lack of information is not your fault. I failed to include it in your curriculum. Mutant quirks aren’t dormant. They don’t appear under stressful situation or after completing a specific requirement. Most people are born with these mutations. So, my best guess is-“ the winged hero sucks in a breath “- he’s really just a ghost.”.
Hawks was positive izuku was mad at him. Hell, he couldn’t even muster up the courage to even look at the kid! God, what if the freckled boy decides to haunt him for the rest of his life!? He’s doomed for sure.
“But no worries! I’d like to hear his opinion on the matter. Maybe we all could bond some more.” He cackled.
From a distance, eraserhead felt a chill down his spine. Nedzu had found another kid to corrupt, hadn’t he? He’s going to need so much more coffee now (and maybe alchohol aswell).
…
Izuku hadn’t expected much interest from the chimera in the first place. Now, imagine his shock when the rat not only looked right at him (honestly, he was kind oh glad his theory about animals or people with animal-based quirks could see him) but wanted to know about his opinion on the situation. If Nedzu had taught the concept of consent to his students before, none of this would’ve happened.
But now wasn’t the time to think about what-ifs. He took a seat in-front of nedzu. He won’t lie, it was nerve wracking. “Do you prefer izuku? Or midoriya?” Izuku froze. Did nedzu know who he was? Wait- that was a stupid question, of course he did!
“U-uh.. izuku is fine” he gripped his costume, unsure what to think of this situation. The chimera slid a cup of tea towards him then paused, “Are you able to eat or drink in this state?” The greenette shook his head. “That’s unfortunate.” He frowned before grinning widely. “But I’m sure you don’t mind” and he was right. Izuku didn’t necessarily feel bad about not being able to eat, but he didn’t need to anyway.
“Can we please just get to the point nedzu-san?” The boy snapped. He was a ghost now and he didn’t need to apologize when it wasn’t his fault. What were they gonna do? Hurt him? He’d like to see them try. Emerald eyes shone unapologetically as he locked eyes with the principal. He wasn’t going to back down.
“Of course! I’m sorry for beating around the bush.” The genius’ eyes sparkled in amusement. “I’d like to analyze your situation. If you’d like, that is. I’m sure neither of us believed in ghosts until now.”.
Analyze his situation? There was nothing to analyze in the first place. The greenette tilted his head thoughtfully before going ‘screw it’ and nodding. He had nothing better to do anyway. Besides, the look on hawks’ face was priceless. He wasn’t going to waste an opportunity to torment people. Was he childish? Maybe. But this was the only time he got to act like it. No one was forcing him to grow up, to hide.
And he was not going to let it go.
“Wonderful! Would you also like to say at UA for the time being?” The chimera chirped. A chance to stay at UA?! The forest-eyed ghost glanced at hawks, the poor hero was probably living his worst nightmare. And with an overly cheery grin, izuku accepted. What? He was living(?) to spite others at this point and this was the best opportunity to torment everyone!
…
Nedzu was ecstatic. It had been a while since he’d taken in a new student. As soon as he laid on the boy ghost, he knew it was time to start playing mentor.
The only thing that did disturb him though, was the boy’s appearance. He looked terrible. Blood was frozen in place around him and the poor kid was covered in a plethora of injuries. A ghost huh? The chimera had heard about the supernatural but he couldn’t bring himself to believe. He had to now, of course.
Besides, watching hawks’ absolutely mortified expression was one of the funniest things this week and he was surrounded by hormonal teens everyday. Izuku seemed to share his thoughts aswell. Nedzu had a feeling both of them would get along well.
Now, to analyze the situation at hand. “Say, izuku. Do you know why i can see you?” emerald eyes shone in excitement as he nodded. “I do! I’ve heard that animals can see ghosts and that would explain how you and officer Sansa could see me. You know, since he has an animal mutation.” Ah, that did seem plausible.
The principal grinned. This one had quite the potential. “You’ve got some impressive skills, I must say.” The greenette flushed, shaking his head. “A-ah it’s not all that s-special.” Nedzu raised an eyebrow “Is it not?” He watched the boy carefully. Society is quite messed up, isn’t it? If izuku had the chance, he would’ve become one hell of a villain. One that even he would fear.
This child was a gem. He needs some polishing, sure but every gem does. “You have potential, izuku and I want to make an offer.” his ears twitched, studying the ghost carefully.
“I-… what!? What do you get out of all this?”
“Nothing.” Nedzu smiled at him, trying to make his intentions clear. “Fine. What is the offer? Don’t tell me you want me to be your-“ the chimera’s smile widened, eyes sparkling.
“You do! Oh my god..” before the greenette could freak out again, midnight spoke up, “sorry, I don’t speak ghost. What is going on?” She sighed, exhausted. Interesting. Wasn’t she the one who brought the izuku here? “I’m going to mentor izuku here” he watched in amusement as the colour drained from her face and poor hawks looked like he was going to faint.
“What?” She choked. Nedzu cackled in delight. He glanced towards izuku, who was very much enjoying the heroes’ misery (should he become the greenette’s guardian instead? They had quite a lot in common after all). Maybe he should introduce the boy to Aizawa, just for shits and giggles.
Ah.. this was going to be so much fun.
Chapter 7
Summary:
Izuku becomes a chaos god under nedzu’s wing, unleashes hell upon the UA staff and unlocks new aspects of his situation as a ghost.
Notes:
This chapter is extra long as a thank you to everyone who stuck with me through my horrible upload schedule. I promise I’ll fix it soon though!! And I’ve finally made a chapter plan and it includes all 60 chapters (holy shit) so I finally know what I’m doing with this fic.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
It had been a few months since nedzu asked izuku to stay at UA. The boy had agreed and nedzu couldn’t be happier. Well, only the principal got to enjoy his time to say the least.
The ghost was an absolute menace.
Pranks were now an everyday phenomenon. Each morning, the staff had to prepare themselves for a new way to start their day. God, why did the boy had so many ideas!? Every single one of his ‘pranks’ were unexpected. He even surprised nedzu! Yeah, they didn’t stand a chance.
Things were falling into routine, in a way. Hawks stopped by every chance he got. It was so cute watching the hero mother-hen the little ghost. What did he fawn over? you may ask. Well, everything from his (mental) health to his desire for chaos. The blonde was too far gone.
Meanwhile, the rat sat back and enjoyed as his mentee brought about destruction for his employees. ‘Meh, they would live.’
What nedzu found the most Interesting was izuku’s little hobby of analyzing quirks. The ghost was so good at it he could give professional analysts a run for their money. Hell, he could even beat the rat if given proper training.
Details aside, the greenette was fitting in just fine. He was having the time of his life- Well, afterlife! UA turned out to be the change he was looking for. People respected him, for starters. If he would tell the same thing to himself a year ago, past izuku would’ve lost it.
…
It was that time of the week again. Izuku would test the staffs patience by announcing a treasure hunt! Well, it wasn’t exactly a treasure hunt per say. He hid everyday or valuable objects in the most absurd places in UA.
For example, he once hid Aizawa-san’s favourite coffee mug in his cat food. The erasure hero was pissed for days! Ah, the greenette sure loved raining hell on everyone.
The best part was, he hid a new object each time so no one could expect anything. That was nedzu sensei’s idea, actually. His mentor was so nice!
This time, he was feeling particularly devious. He took kayama-san’s whip, yamada-san’s headphones, Aizawa-san’s scarf, kan-san’s glasses, ishiyama-san’s hair tie, majima-san’s fire extinguisher (turns out he always has one on him) and finally ectoplasm-san’s textbooks.
He spared one person each time. He just forgets to tell them who. This time it was hound dog. The man had earned a vacation. From izuku, Atleast.
Now, all he has to do is enjoy the show.
…
“oh my fucking god I’m gonna kill nedzu.” Nemuri slammed her hand on her table. Not only had the rat corrupted another kid, he’d decided to make it everyone’s problem.
“Don’t tell me it’s that time of the week again” hizashi whined. “We just found out things!” He swung open the cupboards in search of his headphones. How did the kid even get them?
Shouta was tired. He’d known the problem ghost would be extra evil today. His scarf, seriously? The hero glared at the camera in the teacher’s lounge. The rat was definitely cackling right now, he could feel it. The problem was, shouta couldn’t go to class without his capture scarf. He had an image to maintain for god’s sake.
Hell broke loose as everyone started noticing their missing stuff. Every. Single. Week. Had god finally forsaken them? Is that what this is? a higher being deciding to mess with them for eternity? Hell in the form of a ghost?
They needed a break. Only hound dog got one, unfortunately. All of them were jealous, sure but they did understand. Mercy from izuku was rare. And besides, the poor guy was absolutely destroyed last week. It was only fair.
“Good morning my precious employees. How are we doing today?” Nedzu chirped from the doorway. He was lucky no one lunged at him. As smart as the rat was, he couldn’t take on 5 pro heroes at the same time.
The said heroes shot deadly flares at him, going back to their search. “This is all your fault nem” hizashi cursed and all the poor r-rated heroine could do was sigh. It was indeed her fault.
Months. It had been merely two months and nedzu made a hellspawn out of the poor kid. “You all act like it’s my doing.” The rat smirked. What was he even talking about? Of course this was his doing. Who else-
“I just nudged him a little. Izuku was born for chaos. Even death couldn’t stop him.” The way colour drained from everyone’s faces made nedzu want to laugh. He wasn’t lying and they knew it.
“Good luck everyone~” Aand he left. Great.
…
The greenette on the other hand sat on the couch, watching them go insane. Did he go a little too far this time? Maybe. But there was no stopping him. Hmm.. maybe he should give them clues? Even better! Their little reward would be mercy. Yeah, he could do this thing once a month instead of every week. He felt like a god already.
Is this how power felt?
“Nedzu-sensei! I’ve made a decision!” He waved at his mentor. “What is it izuku?” the staff turned to look at the rat. “I’m giving them mercy. I think I’ve had fun. The first to find their object will be the bearer of good news!” Nedzu’s smile brightened. “How evilly kind of you, ‘zuku”..
The teachers shot confused glances at each other, silently praying to whatever god they believed in. “Sweet izuku told me the first to finish will get good news regarding our exercise!” And everyone let out a sigh of relief. Maybe the kid wasn’t so bad. Maybe.
Just like that, the staff got back to searching until the bell rang. It didn’t help that the kid always did this on a school day.
Most of them went to their classes while sekijiro and shouta sat in the teacher’s lounge. The erasure hero had a reputation to uphold and poor vlad couldn’t read very well without his glasses. They knew the little ghost was a good kid but holy shit did they want to strangle him right now.
“Here, you can take nem’s extra pair.” The tired man turned towards his colleague. Shouta didn’t care about the news, he just wanted his weapon back. And no, he wasn’t sulking. Shut up.
“Thanks man, I’ll keep a lookout for your capture weapon.” Kan smiled at him as he left. Now, to actually look for his poor scarf.
…
To everyone’s surprise, it wasn’t Aizawa who won. The man seemed pretty pissed about it too. No, it was fucking kan sekijiro. Apparently he found his glasses taped to the ceiling… of the supply closet. The kid was creative, he had to give him that.
Nedzu, the sadistic rat whispered in his ear about the good news as shouta saw his eyes light up. Huh, maybe it really was something nice.
“We’ll only do this once a month now!” He exclaimed and everyone started crying out of sheer happiness. “Is this what peace feels like?” Nemuri looked at her hands dramatically as the erasure hero rolled his eyes. Fuck yeah! Now he could actually get some rest.
Their celebration was only stopped by a faint chucking sound. “Please don’t tell me there’s a catch..” hizashi pleaded, quite literally. On his knees and all. “That wasn’t me” the rat chirped. Wait what? Then who?
“It was izuku. He finds your joy amusing i thin-“ izuku? The resident ghost? No one had ever heard him except hawks and nedzu. Maybe hound dog aswell. No one except them could hear him.
“Yo-…an-…hea-… e-?..” it sounded like an old radio which was struggling to catch a signal. could the kid speak now? “…ah-“ we’ll, not really it seemed.
“Interesting” nedzu hummed. “Zuku, dear can you concentrate on speaking out loud once again? Maybe we can unlock another aspect of your… condition.” The lights flickered. “I-… ant-…” the windows opened with a ‘crack’, letting in a cold breeze.
After a few more tries (and some broken glass), the greenette could speak somewhat clearly. “You can hear me now?!” He squealed, unable to adjust his volume.
‘Clank!’
“Oops..” now it was time for Nemuri to squeal. “Ahh I knew you were a cute kid!! Such a sweet voice too!” She cooed. Thank Satan she couldn’t see the strawberry pink blush that dusted the boy’s cheeks. Nedzu wasn’t sure he could stop her from kidnapping his protégé.
“She’s right little listener! Now you won’t need to spend your energy writing to communicate. Isn’t that swell?” “Y-yeah..” izuku was really really happy. For the first time in months, he could hear his own voice clearly. His head didn’t feel like it was underwater anymore!
…
Shouta watched his colleagues interact with the voice. Lately, he wasn’t sure if there was a ghost at all, but hearing him now eased his anxiety. Atleast nedzu wasn’t playing an elaborate prank on them. He sipped his morning coffee and hid his smile under his capture weapon.
The kid was awfully young and his voice was sweet like, almost like honey. It also reminded him of oboro- Nope. Absolutely not. He’s not going to wallow in self-pity right now.
A weird parental feeling settles in his chest. He wants to protect this kid, even if there was nothing to protect him from. Shouta didn’t like kids all that much. It was something he couldn’t control, much like his sudden affection towards the ghost. He didn’t know why Izuku brought out this weird side of him.
The hero sighs, setting his mug down. This was going to be one long journey, he was sure. And maybe, just maybe he wanted to be a part of it.
He wasn’t like hawks or nedzu. But he hopes he’ll be someone to rely on for the kid. For the first time in years, he’s willingly letting someone close to him. Kami, he wants nothing more than a happy ending. Seeing his colleagues interact with the ghost, a part of him yearned for a bond like that. Something to cherish.
“Now, I’ll be borrowing izuku for a bit” Shouta’s boss chirps beside him. God, it will never not scare the shit out of him. But he has to admit, it’s nice. It’s nice to see the rat be a father figure to someone. Maybe having a kid will finally convince him to drop the world domination plans. But who’s shouta to say? Maybe they’ll overthrow the government together. As father and son.
He huffs as his boss leaves. It had got him feeling all soft, watching nedzu interact with izuku. He hopes and hopes that this won’t end badly.
Notes:

Chapter Text
Izuku could speak now. And wasn’t that amazing? He could communicate with more people!! But did that mean he could control his visibility soon? Or was that too far-fetched? His mind was swirling with questions about his ‘situation’. Well, Maybe he should stop calling it that.
The question that made him pause was ‘was this really just a quirk?’. He quickly shook his head because that was outrageous! There was no way him being a ghost was the effect of a quirk. Should he consult Nezu-sensei about this?
Izuku got up from his spot on the couch in the teacher’s lounge and looked around. Maybe his mentor could help. It was weird because the greenette didn’t really care, he didn’t want the closure. Maybe it was his stupid brain. Always analyzing things.
He sighed calling out for his mentor. “Nezu-senseeeiii!! I need your help.” And he must’ve forgotten that people could hear him now, even when he didn’t want to be heard. Hmm.. now this could all be because he has adjusted to his new form but what was done, was done. Several teachers looked up, scarily close to where he was.
Maybe he did get too comfortable.
The attention stung. He wasn’t used to it. Maybe because any attention was bad attention for him, because he was so used to avoiding it all the time. His breath hitched as he watched a million eyes, all on him.
“Izuku, There you are. Was there something you needed from me?” Nezu appeared behind him. “S-sensei! Yes. W-we should probably head to y-your office” he winced at his tone. Tch, stupid stutter. The greenette saw his mentor’s eyes soften and relaxed. He’d become quite fond of nezu these past few months. The rat (he thinks nezu is more of a stoat than anything) had become a parental figure and izuku was grateful. He has seen adults walk away from him, hurt him but no one other than his mother accepted him. So yeah, he was fond of nezu. The principal was a constant support in his wild afterlife.
Izuku was pulled out of his thoughts by the sound of the door shutting behind them. “So, what was it you needed me for?” His mentor raised an eyebrow. “A-ah that.. I wanted your insight on something” he fiddled with the hem of his cloak as nezu raised an eyebrow “and that is?” “Do you think I’ll be visible now too? Uh- since I can be heard now. And do you think-“ he dissolved into muttering. You’d think after becoming a ghost, he’d lose his old habits but izuku was…. well, izuku! He doesn’t think even an apocalypse could stop his muttering.
Nezu-sensei gently pat his head, pulling him out of his muttering spree. “That’s a great question, but I’m afraid I don’t know for sure. If you were to ask my opinion then,” the greenette’s eyes sparkled “I think It’s very much possible. You are growing at an incredibly fast rate so it’s not impossible.” The rat smiled at him.
“Reallyy!??” Izuku shrieked, making nezu’s ears twitch. Right, volume. He isn’t used to his voice being so loud and clear. He still remembers the first time he spoke after becoming a ghost, it was barely a whisper. Overtime, those who could hear him said his voice was small and soft no matter how loud he was being.
“Sorry..” the ghost rubbed the back of his neck, looking at his mentor with a sheepish smile. The pros of his voice finally reaching its full potential usually overrode the cons. To him, Atleast. “It’s quite alright.” Nezu pat his head again. This was going to be a common occurrence, wasn’t it?
He smiled brightly at his mentor, a warm feeling blooming in his chest. He didn’t really know if he wanted to be seen or not but he knew for a fact that Nezu-sensei would support him.
…
Nezu smiled back at his protégé. It was scary how much he’d come to like the child. He never had typical life plans. Marrying, having children and growing old with y our partner, these were all for humans and nezu wasn’t one.
Now, looking at his student standing in his office, looking at his smile as the sunlight somehow brightened it, he was scared. He was scared to let this child in, to be someone important to him.
He couldn’t stand the thought of losing izuku. He knew how much the boy had suffered, he wasn’t stupid. The statistics are old but they’re still bad. He sees it now, how similar they are, him and izuku. They’ve both been hurt by people but here they are still helping them. It filled his chest with a weird feeling. Weird, but nice.
“Go on now, I’m sure you still have to finish your work.” Izuku squeaked as he ran off, leaving the rat with his thoughts. He leaned back into his chair, closing his eyes. He couldn’t help but feel protective over his protégé, Even if there was nothing he could protect the boy from.
The greenette was a special child. Special enough to squeeze his way into everyone’s hearts. The little ghost had shattered his beliefs about the supernatural, just by existing. Now, Nezu wasn’t wrong much but it sure as hell was entertaining when he was.
The goal now was, to rule over the world, like always. But this time, he’d have this child- his child by his side. And if there was one thing nezu had never done was waste potential and he wasn’t going to start now.
He’d overthrow the government
….with his son.
Notes:
Aaaand now for the announcement we’ve all been waiting for!! Drum roll please….. I’m starting a new fic!! It’s MHA and it’s long, though I haven’t figured how many chapters it would be but yeah. Chapter 9
Summary:
Katsuki’s side of the story.
TW: mentions of suicide and a funeral (TvT)
Notes:
Chat I’m sorry for the short chapter 😭 I didn’t know what else to write and I didn’t want to force it to longer yk?
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Katsuki… didn’t know how this happened. Well, he did in a sense. He was the reason auntie inko was desvtated. He was the reason shitty de-… izuku was gone. The blonde couldn’t forgive himself. He suicide baited someone and succeeded.
And now he sat, eyes red-rimmed watching his mother comfort her friend over the loss of her child. He felt sick just being there. Fuck… deku had killed himself and Katsuki was at fault. The blonde watched in a daze as his former friend’s body was lowered into the casket, a picture of the greenette smiling infront of it. It felt like that harmless picture was mocking him.
He couldn’t stand it anymore. So he ran, like a coward. He ran from de- izuku’s funeral. Did he even deserve to call him that anymore? Probably not. Deku didn’t deserve this. He didn’t deserve years of torment from katsuki who was supposed to be his friend.
The blonde felt terrible. What was he even thinking!? His last words to the greenette rung in his head ‘just pray that you’ll be brown with a quirk in your next life and take a dawn dive off the roof of a building’…
In all honesty though, he didn’t think deku would go through with it, of all things. The greenette was stubborn like that. Always chasing after something that was unattainable. It didn’t sound like him, to give up.
“Katsuki, honey… please come out and talk to us.” His mother knocked on the door which he didn’t realize he had shut. Great, they were back from the funeral. “Go away” he doesn’t mean for his voice to sound so weak and… desperate but it does. It comes out more like a cry for help.
“Honey… please.. talk to us. We’re here for you.” Their worry makes him sick. They’re worrying for a murderer. ‘We’re here for you’ he wishes someone had said that to deku then maybe, he would’ve still been alive. Auntie inko wouldn’t be crying and-.. and he wouldn’t be pathetically weeping in his room.
It’s ironic how he wanted to be a hero, of all things. Him? A hero? How preposterous.
…
He applies for the hero course entrance exam in UA, his dream school. It’s what deku would’ve wanted, he tells himself. Would he have? Wanted katsuki to become a hero, that is. But the blonde hopes he can atone for his past actions by helping people.
Now, being number one wasn’t his priority. He wanted to become the hero izuku would’ve wanted him to be. He wants no one else to suffer at the hands of their cruel society.
He’s trained hard, these past few months. How could he not? His grief and guilt were enough of a motivation. He hopes izuku is watching him. Well, he wouldn’t mind if the greenette became a vengeful spirit and haunted him, even. He deserves it.
He felt a chill run down his spine at the thought. It didn’t sound like izuku, to get revenge. But who was he kidding, Katsuki had always been a fan of horror but that doesn’t make it real. There was no way his old friend would come back.
The blonde stood infront of the gates of UA as he felt a pang in his chest. Does he deserve to take this exam? He shakes his head. Now was not the time to second guess his decision, dammit!
He took a deep breath and strode forward. If he was going to be a hero, he was going to do it right. He was going to go beyond plus ultra, as izuku would say.
He was going to make the damn nerd proud.
Notes:
I can’t write angst (jk ;p) anyways, I wanted to say that in this fic, Katsuki was never attacked by the sludge villain. Aand poor Izu commit suicide after allmight left hun on that roof (fuck you lolmight ><)
Ps: the entrance exam isn’t going to happen until MUCH much later in the fic, so grab some popcorn!! <33

Chapter Text
Izuku was bored. And since he (reluctantly) promised to limit his pranks, he couldn’t have fun. Well, he could but let’s face it, he loved tormenting people and now that he couldn’t do it as often, he was bored.
“Senseiii..” He whined beside his mentor with the best puppy eyes he could muster. “My, izuku.. are you using the tactics I taught you against me?” The rat smirked as he reached out to ruffle the greenette’s hair, who only smiled at him as his paw fazed through.
The ghost’s abilities were in constant fluctuations for now. His ability to be touched by those who could see him seemed out of the poor kid’s control. It would activate at random, allowing the principal to touch him but at times, izuku would faze through everything and everyone.
“I’m boreddd” His student’s cries pulled him out of his thoughts. “Whatever shall we do~” nezu rested his chin on his paws as he hummed. “How would you like to play with eraserhead for a while? He seems quite peaceful as he doesn’t have a class to teach this year.”
izuku’s smile brightened as he got up from the floor and ran through the walls. The rat chuckled, watching his dear son (or protégé, whichever one the audience prefers) giggle like Satan himself. Hah.. this is going to be so much fun, isn’t it? He reclined his chair and took a sip of his tea, eyes sparkling with amusement.
The green ghost popped up beside his tired victim, a Cheshire grin on his face. “Helloo eraser~” he whispered in the man’s ear. The said man jolted up and shot a glare in his general direction. And he wasn’t that far off, izuku had to give him that.
“What do you want, problem ghost?” shouta spat. He could already feel the oncoming headache.
“oh nothing~ I just wanted to see my favourite pro-hero!” Geez, the kid surely knew how to melt his heart. He almost smiled…. Almost. “I’m busy” the ravenette shuffled in his sleeping bag.
“Busy expelling your whole class?” Came the boy’s remark. “Getting bold, are we?” The kid was adorable, sure but he was also really snarky. Shouta was kind of impressed, to be honest that the kid even out-sassed him sometimes.
“fine.. do whatever you want. Just- don’t bother me” he huffed, closing his eyes. “Can you call keigo-nii? I’m bored..” huh, this wasn’t that bad. The erasure hero noticed how close the two had gotten lately. Izuku had even started calling the bird man by his first name after the blonde practically adopted him (as a brother, of course. Or he’ll have had to fight a certain sadistic rat)
Shouta sighed as he dialed the wing hero’s number on his phone, making izuku giggle. Maybe nem was right, he was going soft.
…
The winged hero arrived an hour later, much to shouta’s dismay. He’d rather the blonde not come at all but you win some you lose some, right?
“Izukuuu!! My favourite little brother!” The blonde yelled excitedly, making the greenette smile. “Aren’t I your only brother?” Ah, there it was. Shouta was wondering when the sassy comments would start. Honestly, he had much better things to do than watch the two bicker like his colleagues.
“And where do you think you’re going?” Fuck… shouta got caught… again.
Hawks gave him a mischievous grin and before he could register anything, He was in the air… on the other man’s back. “Not a normal day in this school.” He sighed. He could lecture them later, when he was not a slip way from death. These two were certainly going to be the death of him someday.
“Having fun, eraser?” A sweet voice called behind him. “Problem ghost.” He stared blankly. “Eraser” the kid sure had a sweet voice but damn did he know how to sound threatening.
“What will I do with you?” He sighed, accepting his fate. “Nothing, really!” came the overjoyed reply. Shouta was gonna go grey early because of this menace. He closed his eyes, wanting to go to sleep.
“Oh come onn, I wanted to play with you!” There really was no getting out of this, was there? Nevertheless, he tried and that’s what matters but it really was a pity that he failed yet again. What was nezu teaching this kid?!
He was then dragged out by hawks to ground beta. “Problem ghost, why are we here?” The blonde raised an eyebrow aswell. The guy never questioned the kid. It was cute but also so damn stupid.
“Simple! I wanna see you spar” izuku winked at the two heroes who seemed to be confused. “Ah- well, it’s been a long time since I’ve watched any fights in action. Soo I was wondering if-“ the greenette cut himself off, rubbing his neck sheepishly.
“Of course nugget!” Hawks smiled brightly at the ghost. And shouta didn’t mind either. It wasn’t a lot to do anyway and he heard the little ghost liked to analyze. It would be entertaining if nothing else. God, he was starting to sound like Nezu, wasn’t he?
Wasting no time, the erasure hero lunged at hawks, who unfortunately managed to escape with small scratch. “Whoa there ‘raser! Take it easy!” The blonde grinned smugly, throwing his feathers at the older man.
Izuku’s eyes gleamed as he jotted everything down in his notebook. It amazing how long he could remain in his impenetrable state now. He was finally starting to make progress with his ghostly powers (even if they got out of hand most of the time), If you could even call them that.
The spar ended as the ravenette subdued the winged hero with his capture scarf. Huh, it was quite impressive how long hawks managed to hold out despite having much less experience.
“So, How much did you manage to get from that?” The winged hero rests his hand on the kid’s shoulder.
“Ah- n-not much! Just… you’re both really amazing at what you do. I really liked how you escaped Aizawa-san’s capture weapon by cutting it with your feathers. So, I suggest reinforcing it with some steel. The ratio of zinc and iron in it could be changed to make it more flexible. You can still cut it at the right angle if you ever got tangled in it, but it requires more knowledge so it lowers the possibility of villains cutting through it and using it against you. Oh, and nii-san! I think you could’ve surrounded Aizawa-san with some of your feathers. No- you could make a cage to capture him! And-“ he dissolved into muttering, leaving the two heroes stunned.
Keigo ruffled the kid’s bushy green hair, effectively putting an end to his muttering spree. “That was so cool izu!” He smiled at the greenette.
“Yeah kid, it’s pretty impressive how much that brain of yours can process.” Shouta hid a small smile under his capture scarf. Nezu was definitely taking over the world at some point with this genius kid by his side. Sometimes, shouta’s glad the menace didn’t turn to villainy, ghost or not.
“I’m thrilled to see you’re enjoying yourself izuku.” God, shouta will never get used to his rat of a boss spawning out of nowhere. If it were up to him, he would have that thing on a leash.
“Sensei! What brings you here?!” The greenette exclaims making the erasure hero sigh. The kid picked up the rat’s mannerisms quite fast and oh boy did that terrify him.
The principal simply smiled at his protégé, making the other heroes shiver. “I simply wanted to tell you about the latest addition to our school-” Nezu’s eyes gleamed.
“-Allmight will be joining the staff.”
