Now That I've Tasted Poison, I Want More

Summary:

Buck and Eddie try to hide their relationship. But are they good at it?

Work Text:

Buck had a hard time keeping his hands off Eddie now that he was allowed to touch him. From taking his time in the morning to wake Eddie up with kisses to his shoulders, his back, and even the mole behind his thigh to quickly stealing a kiss from Eddie when they're in the locker room, Buck does it all. However, they have to hide their relationship, as they aren't sure what Bobby thinks about his employees dating each other. He could transfer one of them to Shift B, and Buck really doesn't want that.

"What are you thinking about?" Eddie asked as they sat on the couch, with Eddie leaning back against Buck and Buck with his arm around Eddie's shoulders.

"Nothing," Buck replied. "Just—Part of me wishes we could tell everyone about us, but the other part likes the secrecy."

"Well, good, because we're not telling them," Eddie warned him.

Buck sat up, removed his arm from Eddie's shoulders, and looked at him. "Are you ashamed of us? Because I am not going back in the closet. I refuse to."

Eddie sighed and cupped his cheek. "No, you idiot. I am not trying to push either of us back in the closet," he told Buck, gently kissing him.

"Then, why don't you want them to know?" Buck asked.

"Buck, we talked about this. Bobby could transfer one of us to a different shift if he finds out, or he could be accused of preferential treatment if he doesn't," Eddie replied and stroked Buck's cheek.

"Don't look at me like that," Buck warned him.

"Like what?" Eddie asked almost innocently.

Buck grinned all silly as he climbed over Eddie, forcing him to lay back on the couch. "Like you want me to do things to you..." He leaned down and kissed Eddie again.

"Oh yeah?" Eddie asked, moving an arm behind his head. "What kind of things?"

Buck said nothing and instead slipped his hand inside Eddie's shirt. You can't blame him if he kissed and touched Eddie all night.

Buck and Eddie tried to be as discrete as possible at work. They made out in Buck's jeep until their lips were swollen, and they were breathing heavily. It's a miracle no one has said anything about that yet.

As they walked into the firehouse, Buck's hand brushed against Eddie's, as always, like he wanted to grab it and tell everyone, "Hey, look, my roommate is also my boyfriend!" But he couldn't.

They weren't sure how long they could hide this. They've turned every one-person job around the firehouse into a second-person job.

Right now, they were cleaning the windows outside, and Buck kept touching Eddie until Eddie pulled him away so no one could see them and kissed him hard.

"Now behave!" Eddie told him and tried walking away, but Buck pulled him back and cupped his cheek, leaning down to kiss him again.

"Now that I've tasted poison, I want more," Buck whispered against Eddie's lips and nipped at his lips.

"You're insufferable," Eddie sighed into the kiss but kissed him back. "Also, I can't believe you called me poison."

"I said it in a good way," Buck told him as he started kissing his neck.

"Buck, stop, someone will see." Eddie squirmed as Buck held his hands tightly, but he still closed his eyes and moaned.

Someone cleared their throat behind them, and Buck practically pushed Eddie away.

"If you two are done, you can join us for dinner," Bobby told them and turned around to leave.

"Bobby!" Buck yelled and went after him. B"obby, hey, please don't fire us," he said. Or if you want to fire someone, fire me. I was pushing myself on Eddie. He did not want this."

"Buck!" Eddie hissed behind him. "Shut up!" He walked over to Buck and intertwined their hands together. "If you're gonna fire one of us, then you'll have to fire both of us because I- we're dating."

"Eddie," Buck chastised his boyfriend, who glared at him.

Hen and Chimney came up behind Bobby, and they gave them sympathetic looks as Bobby watched them impassively. But then he burst out laughing and bent over, grabbing his knees as he laughed.

Buck looked at him, confused, and then Hen started laughing too, but Chimney glared at them.

"Couldn't you idiots go on hiding your relationship for two more weeks?" Chimney huffed at them. He took money out of his wallet, but before he passed it to Hen, he looked at Bobby. "Wait... You're part of the bet, so you "catching" them doesn't count!"

"It absolutely counts!" Bobby told him. "I am the boss, and if I say it counts, it counts."

"Wait, wait, wait, you guys had a wager going on?" Buck asked, confused.

"Yes, we bet you won't be able to hide your relationship. Bobby said one month, Hen also said one month, and I was stupid enough to trust you two and said six weeks," Chimney explained.

"Bobby and Hen won," Chimney grumbled, handing them the money.

"I can't believe you guys would bet on us!" Eddie scolded them.

"Yeah! We've been trying to hide our relationship for the last month. Do you know how exhausting it's been?" Buck asked, glaring at them.

"Hide? With how you two look at each other, I would be surprised if Shift B didn't have a wager going on, too," Hen said.

"Okay, all of this aside, what happens now?" Buck asked worriedly. "Are you gonna fire us?"

"For dating? No!" Bobby told them. "I would need to talk to both of you individually and set some ground rules, but that's about it."

"Wait... I'm curious, Eddie, how did he get you to date him?" Hen asked.

"He didn't," Eddie said, looking fondly at Buck. "We watched TV on the couch and drank beer every night and realized how we were moving closer to each other each day until I kissed him."

"Oh," Chimney said. "That's boring. I'm not telling that story in the best man speech at your wedding."

"Hey, whoa, who said anything about a wedding?" Buck asked.

"Yeah, man, we've only been dating one month," Eddie laughed nervously.

"Hey, but now we don't have to hide anymore. We can kiss in front of them!" Buck said, pulling Eddie in for a kiss.

Buck heard a collective groan from their coworkers but didn't care.
