Chapter 1: The Happiest Day no one will remember

Summary:

The studio begins filming for the first episode. Dots excited

Chapter Text

The sweet subtle choir of birds echoed out of the metal of the tower. Dot yawned soft, turning over on her side as she slowly got up, throwing her blankets over her bed side.

Her feet touched the rather cold wood of the tower, slipping on her pink fuzzy slippers as she shuffled over to her wardrobe and threw on her soft pink robe and made her way to the kitchen.

The tower was still dark, the clock in the assumed living room reading 6 o'clock in the morning. The youngest warner pouted softly as she sets up her little pink step stool and climbed onto the counter, grabbing her assorted bowl and matching cup.

She got down and sat them on the counter, reaching into the fridge and pulled out the milk and reached into the lower cupboard and pulled out the cereal.

Dot gently poured the cereal into her bowl as she sat down at their make shift table. She slowly stirred her spoon in her now chocolatey milk, she loved waking up early in the morning but she also really hated it because she often found herself rather bored.

Dot slowly meandered over to the couch once she was finished with her breakfast, she reached for where the remote usually laid- she paused and looked "Wakko-" she said rather lowly as she dove her hand into the couch cushions on a deadly spelunking mission for the TV remote.

After a few minutes of poking around the bottom of the cushions- her hand felt the hard plastic of the TV remote "Gotcha!" She smiled victoriously as she turned the TV on, turning the volume down for respect.

Yakko stretched as he wandered out of his room to grab breakfast, his watch had read 9:36 am, he figured he'd get breakfast started.

The eldest paused at the sight of the youngest passed out on the couch, he tilted his head and shrugged it off "she probably fell asleep watching re-runs again" he said rather passively as he started on making eggs.

Dot shifted softly, stretching as far as she could; falling off the couch as she did so- letting out a soft help in surprise as she rolled over onto her side "ow...." She rubbed her head as she got up, holding onto the coffee table.

Yakko looked over "good morning sleepy sweetie" he joked as he flipped the pancakes in the pan. Dot glanced over at him "I been awake since 6 am." She glared sleepily as she made her way over to the kitchen.

"Mmmm you being on the couch snoozing up a storm says other wise" yakko smirked matter-of-factly, putting his snout to the air as he continued to saute the eggs.

Dot laughed sarcastically "There's nothing to do at 6 o clock in the morning" she folded her arms across the table, sliding over the table as she felt her face fall against the the wood.

Yakko slide her a plate of fresh warm eggs and crispy bacon "here, I can only imagine that your still hungry, cereal isn't really filling"

Dot passively meowed in her usually sleepy state, yakko paused and chuckled "Did you just meow at me?" Dot waved a hand at him "I'll meow at you all I want. What are you gonna do about it huh?"

Yakko sighed playfully as he shook his head "the new CEO called, we have to go in for shotting our reboot" he smiled as he finished setting a plate for wakko for when he woke up.

dot stared up at yakko "filming has started already?" Yakko nodded "she called me yesterday saying everything was greenlit and that the writers started on the first season scripts" he smiled softly. He gently lifted her head, placing his palm under her chin and looked the youngest warner in the eyes "we don't have to go in until 5, soon why don't you go spend some time down at the mall?"

Dot paused, her eyes shining bright as she stared at her eldest brother "are you sure?!" She sat up immediately, her tail wagging so fast it was hitting against the chair.

Yakko shrugged "I trust you baby sis" he paused, staring at her for a moment, a rather serious look on his face as he furrowed his brows.

Before dot could jump off her stool, she hugged yakko tightly and rushed off to her room to get dressed. Dot dressed up in a soft, baby pink t shirt with a pair of pink courdory shorts, she fluffed her tuffs of her cheeks and adjusted her flower.

She hopped happily as she grabbed her small shoulder bag and tossed her phone inside as she made way for the tower door.

Yakko grabbed at her collar, not enough to choke her, but enough to pull her back. She gave a rather heavy pout as she glared at him through her heart shaped sunglasses.

"I can trust you yes?" Yakko glanced down at dot, she slowly folded her sunglasses, putting them in her right hand before putting her other hand on her hip.

She raised a firm brow as she stared at her eldest brother like he was insane. "I'm not a baby yakko. I can handle myself for-" she looked at the clock which was now reading 10:01. "5 hours. I have money if I need to take the bus home which won't be necessary since the mall is only a 15 minute walk. And the food court is rather cheap so I can get lunch if I so desire to" she huffed, now both hands on her hips.

"And besides. I can always text you if I need you" she bounced her head along with every word as she rolled her eyes softly. Yakko watched her closely.

Yakko kneeled down softly, his lips pursed as he gave a serious glance, brows pushed together as he stared at her, hand on her shoulder "Angelina Dorothy warner-'"

Dot playfully rolled her eyes "oh boy" she laughed before returning her serious face again.

"I'm entrusting you to return at 4:30. No sooner. No later. Got it?" He looked her dead in the eye as Dot nodded a little too sarcastically than what she wanted "yes. Yakko. 4:30 I got it-" his hand was still dead locked in her shoulder "I mean it Angelina." He glared.

Dot out her hands up as if she were caught "okay. Okay I got it! 430. No sooner no later. Jesus yaks-a-lot. You act like I'm gonna get kidnapped or something"

He gave her a much more angry expression than what he hoped for "Angelina! Don't joke about that!" She gently shook her phone "I've got my phone just in case. I'll call you once I get to the mall. And I'll call you when I'm on my way home. And don't go doing your overbearing mom thing and text me every 5 minutes okay?" She poked his chest gently.

"I'll be fine. If I really and I mean Really need you okay?" Dot focused her eyes on yakkos golden iris's they shook a little before falling, allowing yakko a small bit of vulnerability "alright. I suppose. You ARE 13."

She smiled happily as she hugged him, her tail wagging "Ill be back soon."

"You better. Or I'll have to come look for you myself" he half joked as he watched her leave the tower.

"don't forget me!! Okay??" She waved as she joked, yakko stood still as he waved, watching as the tower door shut closed "how could anyone?"

Dot hummed happily as she glanced around at all the windows of the shops in the mall, admiring all the different articles of clothing, the dresses and skirts, the smells of the different perfumes.

She stopped and got a few new things for their first premiere! They were supposed to start filming today!! Oh boy! How exciting was that?!

She got a new pink shirt with a white laced fabric collar with pearl buttons, a new pink skirt with white lace stitched at the bottom.

She was so excited to wear it for filming... Could she? Oh it didn't matter to her she'd wear it anyway!

Dot; in all her excitement felt her tummy grumble, she paused, she pulled her phone out and checked the time, 3:24- she stared for a moment.

"I guess I could get something to eat" she shrugged and made her way into the food court.

4 o clock rolled around, Dot cleared her tray and started to make her way back to the lot. The sun was still high in the sky by the time she had made it back.

She started to text yakko as she wandered around the lot, making her way towards the tower.

<Where are we supposed to be filming?>

she sighed as she looked into every soundstage on the lot before her phone dinged- with a response.

<Yaksalot:

Stage 45>

she nodded as she made her way to the water tower to get ready for their first night of filming, this was gonna be fun!

-

They filmed the first episode with ease!

The studio wanted to start with a cold open- something about being in "suspended animation" Dot just shrugged it off, they made a Jurassic park reference, even Spielberg decided to make a cameo!

They had to reshoot the intro because their cast was smaller, which made sense.  Shooting the actual episode was ...a bit weird for her to be frank if she could.

They had built a rather well made replica of their water tower for them to climb.

Watching yakko use wakko like a battering ram wasn't entirely new but something about it made her feel....a bit uncomfortable-she shook her head when she heard him speak up.

Yakko gestured to the fake tower door "ohhh, it's a pull not a push-" and gently swatted at wakko with his hand, pushing him to the ground. Yakko paused, looking at the script "is- is that really what I do?"

The director and the camera people stopped as they turned to look at the 17 year old "yes!" Shouted the director "It's just a bit- mean ya know? To push him?"

-"I mean we push wakko around all the time but-" Dot added

"It's your first day filming, we get that you've got the first night jitters but just do what it says on the script" the director, in his best tone possible, tried to get them to continue.

Dot looked at yakko who looked back at her, they both shrugged and looked at wakko, who all but gave them a big happy smile and a big thumbs up.

Yakko pulled the tower door open, it was dark and musty, Dot cringed a little as she stepped inside- lasers turned on, it looked like something out of a spy movie.

"My sandwich!!" Wakko pointed, peeking at his script before shoving it back into his hammer space, he jumped over a few of the blazers, doing a rather elaborate laser dance, the other two just watched with absolute impress. The looked at each other and kept watching as wakko successfully obtained the sandwich.

The sandwich itself was made to look moldy, the props department did a rather excellent job in making it look absolutely disgusting in camera, of course wakko was no averse to eating actually moldy food (usually ending up with food poisoning after) but he ate the sandwich with no issues as he just walked through the walls of lasers.

Yakko stared at him, taking a gander at his script before doing the same and pushing it back into his hammer space. "You did an elaborate laser dance just for a sandwich?"

Wakko stared at him "that wasn't a laser dance, that was my sandwich dance!"

After a few more takes, a few more scene runs and a couple more directive scene pushes, the warners were allowed to head back home.

Dot flopped onto the couch in exhaustion, excited, happy exhaustion but the feeling of tired swooned over her. Yakko leaned back against the green leather as well, he let out a soft exuberant sigh as he wiped his arm over his forehead.

"Man it's been awhile since I've been on camera."

"It's been a while since any of us have been on camera" Dot chuckled, wakko lunged over the top of the couch, his elbows pressed into the green leather as he held his cheeks in his palms "but boy was it fun!!" Wakko smiled, his tail wagging.

Dot smiled happily as she leaned back into the leather "I think I might head to bed" yakko nodded "a good idea"

Dot mustered her strength as she pushed herself off the couch and into the bathroom, surged to take a warm hot shower, she turned the faucet off and wrapped herself in her warm pink robe and slipped on her pink night gown.

Dot scrambled into her bed and snuggled into her blankets, pulling a pink teddy bear wakko had gotten her into her arms. Her tail wagging under her sheets.

Her bedroom door opened, the light from the hallway made yakkos silhouette appear much taller than it was, yakko smiled as he sat beside her on her bed.

"Hey kiddo" he smiled at her, she smiled back "hey yakko" he brushed the top of her head "so? You enjoying being back on camera?"

Dots eyes widened "am I?! I'm loving it!! Even if some of the script writes are a bit wonky" she shrugged but kept her wide smile "I'm enjoying every bit of it all!" She jumped, falling back against her large yellow pillow.

Yakko chuckled amusedly "good. I'm glad. Because we have a lot more filming to do tomorrow" he gave a gentle smile as Dot yawned softly.

"That's a tommorow Dot problem" she reached over to hug the eldest, who pulled her close "I love you Dot" he laid her back down and covered her with her blankets.

"I love you too yakko ..." She yawned again, her eyes falling as she shut them closed, finally falling into the sweet sucker of sleep.

Chapter 2: The Worst Day She'll remember

Summary:

During the middle of the night, Dot gets erased from everyone's memory. She's not happy about it.

Chapter Text

The morning was rather slow, showing off the greys and gloomy colours of the world as the rain tinka-tinked against the metal of the water tower.

Dot stretched as she meandered out of bed and into the bathroom, proceeding to take a hot shower and dressing in a yellow sweater and a pair of warm jeans.

Dot gave a soft yawn, her fangs showing through. She reached for her pink bowl and matching cup. She hums softly as she swims her spoon through the now brown chocolate milk, she takes a few more bites upon hearing her brothers bedroom door open. She looked up at the catwalk where yakkos room was located.

Yakkos fur was disheveled, the tuffs of hair all spanded into different directions, all matted as if he couldn't sleep, tossing and turning all night.

His eyes were still shut as he pressed a coffee pod into his Keürig (a gift from scratchnsniff) as he gave a rather big yawn. Yakko barely made any noise, hardly any sound as she sat in front of her at the table.

Dot watched her brother for a moment, watching for him to say something before she could "morning yakko" she said softly, the eldest barely broke from his tired squinting.

Dot continued to stare at him, waving a hand in front of his face, she glared softly "yakko?" She repeated. Still nothing. She huffed again, she heard wakkos door open and reached over the table and ran over "Wakko! Wakko!" She called, when the middle warner didn't answer, she stomped her foot "if this is some kind of prank you two are pulling I'm not liking it one bit!" She folded her arms.

Dot waved a hand in front of wakko "Wakko? Why aren't you answering me? Have you gone deaf or something?" She did the same thing again to yakko.

When they didn't seem to respond, she gave another big pout "Fine. You wanna play this game. We'll play this game" she grabbed her little shoulder purse and slammed the door as she trudged outside and into the rain.

"They wanna ignore me? Fine! Let them! I'll ignore them back" she sealed her promise as she stomped her way down to the plaza.

Dot sat under the court awning. Tapping her foot; Dot stared at her phone, pulling down her contacts.

It had been 4 hours since she left and yakko nor wakko had even bothered to even ask where she went, were they really trying to ignore her?

She felt a ping of hurt in her chest as she held a hand close to her chest as she lowered her head. She lowered her forehead against the table as she sighed.

She was okay with whatever prank her brothers wanted to pull, most of the time they were just silly strings or whatever else wakko had planned to prank her with...

But the worst prank she hated that they pulled was when they ignored her, she hated being ignored, sure she liked her privacy and her peace but being ignored made her felt alone...

If people ignored her it was fine because she always had her brothers to count on...but when it was her brothers that barely made a pass at her existence...

She shook her head and looked up, noticing the rain had stopped. She grabbed her things and headed back towards the studio.

The soundstage was ready for filming, when she stepped inside. She found yakko and wakko just off the set reading iver the scripts for the next episode.

She smiled softly "Yakko! Wakko!!" She called happily, the two turned to her, brows furrowed with confusion as yakko turned toward her "I'm sorry??" He spoke.

Dots smile turned sour "Yakko why didn't you call? You didn't even bother checking in on me.." she pouted, hands on her hips.

"Errrr...I don't...really check up on fans" he simply shrugged as he went back to reading over his script. Her face fell "What?!" She paused "I'm your sister!"

Yakko looked at her again, the next thing out of his mouth just tore her heart apart as she stared blankly at him.

"i don't have a sister"

tears felt like they were threatening to break as she balled her fists "what do you mean you don't have a sister!? Yes you do you idiot!"

Yakko backed up slowly, hands raised as if he was trying to calm down, dot just stared at him, brow softening as she unclenched her fists.

Wakko put a hand on her shoulder, she turned toward him "Wakko...please" she spoke softly.

"If it helps....I can...give you an autograph?"

Dots heart just sunk to the bottom of the out of her stomach as her head fell "sure....." She barely was able to muster anything above a whisper.

Wakko just smiled as he signed a picture and handed it to her, when Dot took notice of the picture, it was supposed to be the three of them in front of the tower, the picture was a bit fuzzy but she could clearly see yakko and wakko.

She stared even longer at the picture, where she would stand (typically in the middle with yakko on the left and wakko on the right) she was missing. Like she was cut....out

Missing entirely, she could barely even make out her own silhouette.

Her ears fell if they could, her eyes grew sad as she held the picture tighter in her hands. She heard a mans voice shout over her thoughts as she looked at the director stomping towards them.

"No fans in the soundstage! Get her out of her!! Now" he pointed towards the exit. Dot was flabbergasted at the idea of being treated so rudely, but didn't press any further, as she turned to leave, she looked back at wakko.

His dopey grin with his tongue lolled out to the side as he waved at her "Good bye Missy lady!!"

"Its....Dot" she sighed. Heading outside of the soundstage.

Dot slumped against the wall of the soundstage, she pulled her legs to her chest as she buried her face into her knees. She sobbed, she sobbed hard.

She hated this prank. With all her heart.

Dot made her way back to the tower, climbing the ladder and made her way into her bedroom, she could at least spend a little time in her own space before her brothers returned home.

She gathered a small suitcase and opened her dresser drawer, pulling out her little box with the money she saved up. Maybe she could find a motel to stay in or maybe a friend?

She sighed and fell back against her bed, she curled up as she hugged her pillow tightly and sobbed hard.

This was the worst day she's ever had, whatever prank her brothers were pulling she wanted it to end. Now.

Chapter 3: A Lonely Day

Summary:

Dots not liking being essentially a stranger to her brothers.

Chapter Text

With the morning sun arisen in the sky, Dot shifted softly as she got dressed. She looked around, she was back in her room...

She pulled out her pink skirt and pulled over a soft yellow T-shirt with an orange stripe. She mandeared one last time into the kitchen, pulling open the fridge.

In the fridge sat a small box with her name on it. She pulled it out and put it in her suitcase. She looked around, gathering some small stuffed animals of hers and putting them in her suitcase.

She was going to miss the water tower...

She was going to miss her brothers....

-

Dot sighed as rolled her little pink suitcase behind her. With heads down; not entirely paying attention, she bumped into something-

The something made her fall backwards, she rubbed the back of her head as she glanced up through squinted eyes. Yakko paused, eyes furred with concern as he reached a hand out "I'm so sorry ma'am, I guess I didn't see you" Dot huffed as she grabbed his hand.

"It's no big deal" she said softly, dusting herself off as she grabbed for the handle of her suitcase. "I don't suppose there's a chance you remember me?" She looked at him with wide, hopeful eyes.

Yakko stared at her for a moment and shook his head "I'm sorry I don't" dots shoulders fell as did her head. "I....don't....suppose I...could give you a hug?...."

Yakko paused and shrugged, opening his arms for her, she buried into his chest as she hugged him tightly 'goodbye big brother' she whispered as she let go and trudged passed him towards the main soundstage.

Dot peeked through the door, scanning the stage for any sign of wakko. As true as always, wakko was standing in front of the snack table.

Dot took a breath and gently tapped him on the shoulder, the warner turned to her, mid bite before finishing "Hello Miss Lady!"

Dot twitched, neither did he remember her. She sighed softly "You don't remember either...." She said quietly, he shook his head, tongue lopsided as usual.

The no longer youngest sibling just wrapped her arms around her amnestic brother, silent tears falling into his turtle neck, body starting to shake as she tried to pull away.

Dot paused "oh!" Wakko tilted his head in confusion as he watched her unzip her suitcase, she held a box in her hands and presented it to him.

"I know you don't remember, but I've saved this just for you" she wasn't, but she figured she'd give him one last thing before she left.

Wakko took the box, noticing her signature handwriting and opened the latch.

Inside the box was a rather fat, pristine chocolate maple bar with blue and red sprinkles. Wakko looked at dot, she nodded "go ahead, it's a present. For you" wakko smiled as he put it under his hat "I've never received food from fans before"

Dot twitched again "I'm sorry I couldn't have given you anything else...." Wakko hugged her softly "You seem nice" he smiled "so I can give you special access to the lot to come back whenever you want!" He beamed.

Dot smiled a little more genuinely "thanks...wakko" she figured she'd entertain the idea of being essentially a total stranger, hey maybe she'd get the chance to learn about her brothers all over again.

"That would be nice" she hugged him again, he hugged back "but for now I've got to get going" Dot said softly as she pulled away, breaking the hug apart.

While it wasn't noticeable to anyone else, to her, she could see wakkos brows furrow. Dots tail swayed softly "I'm sorry" she started to turn, he held onto her hand just a little longer.

She paused "be safe at least" he said softly, his eyes shined with a glimmer of what she hoped was resembling remembrance. Sadly that flicker faded as she slipped her hand from his.

"I'll try..." Dot let out a soft, rather Shakey breath as she made her way out of the lot, sneaking last Ralph on her way out. Not that he wasn't a problem in the first place.

Finding a good motel that wasnt shady and half way decent was hard, most of them had broken beds, piles of cockroaches in the walls, mystery stains which shed rather not question-

Finally she arrived at a motel called "the cozy cove." It was a small motel with a blue tiled roof, the pool rippled in the sunlight, the pink neon sign buzzed softly.

She pushed open the office door, in the window read a help wanted sign, she was sure she'd ignore it until she had to.

Behind the desk was a soft, round old lady, with curling greyish brown hair, her cat eye glasses sat just in the tip of her round red nose with beads connecting the glasses.

"Hello darlin how can I help you?" She spoke happily, a southern drall left her lips as she watched Dot.

Dot shook softly as she placed the amount of money she needed on the counter "i-i need a room please" as if the woman understood her, a key was replaced with the money "room 205, it's the closest room to the office on the second floor." The woman spoke softly.

"And if you need anythin' Hun" she spoke as Dot turned the knob in the door to walk out, she turned back to her "names Deb" she smiled kindly.

Dot returned the smile as she made her way to her room.

Dot stared at the plack '205' it read.

Boy she'd never been so nervous, she's always had her brothers with her, but now they were essentially gone, complete strangers now.

She pushed the door open.

She braces herself for what could've possibly been behind the door- when she peeked she found a rather delightful room. The bed had a soft pink floral pattern, the wallpaper was a soft subtle yellow with soft white lines, the wall sconces actually worked and the pillows were rather soft.

She placed her suitcase on the couch and turned the TV on- which to her surprise- actually worked!! 383

Dot laid back against the sheets, what didn't make sense was why the room was so cheap.... She shrugged and dove into her coin purse, pulling out 20 dollars.

Dot closed and locked her room door, stuffing the keys into her pocket and headed back to the main office.

Deb smiled "Hiya Hun what can I do for ya?" She spoke rather kindly as Dot got closer.

"Is there anything....mmm....cheap? Around here? I've never been to this side of Burbank before.." Deb nodded sympathetically as she pulled out a small list "there's a good Chinese place down the road or if you'd like, the most popular take out is a place called golden flower pizza"

Dot paused "golden flower pizza?"

Deb nodded "I can call in for you if you'd like" Dot nodded "yes please ma'am" the old woman smiled "ring it in around 6 if you wouldn't mind?"

Deb nodded "of course sweetie" Dot nodded in response "I'm gonna just head out for a little, I'll be back soon"

Deb smiled "no need to tell me hunny"

Dot smiled softly as she let the door close on its own as it matched shut against the old wood of the office.

-

Dot hummed as she looked around the small shoppe, she dragged a lowly hand against the fabric of a beautiful pink two piece swimsuit.

It was a soft magenta colour with a small ruffling at the neck, the top stopped just below her midriff, the bottom was set like a pair of gym shorts with a small white stripe down the side.

'5.00' the tag read, Dot beamed as she grabbed it off the hanger and brought it to the check out.

Maybe she'd go swimming.

-

Dot wandered around town, just looking around town, ending up back at the lot. She watched carefully, catching the two familiar blobs of her brothers being chased by Ralph.

A sense of forgotten had holed itself in her heart as she felt her stomach drop.

The whole day had made her feel just....

She sighed as she wandered back to the motel, oh how she missed the comfort of the water tower, she missed her room, her toys, her brush....

she missed her brothers

-

Six o clock rolled around.

Deb had rung in a pizza for Dot just like she promised, Dot sat on the side of the pool, holding the warm box on her lap. She stared at the 3 slices left in the box-

She smiled "hey wakko-" she paused. Blinking. To where she expected her immediate older brother to be next to her, the space was empty, gone.

Her ears fell as she remembered that they no longer remembered her.

dot set the box to the side, she'd save the rest for later.

A soft voice rung in her ears, Dot paused, she recognized that voice-

She slipped away from the pool as she got closer and closer. She peeked through the holes of the gate as she watched.

"I don't see why you have to throw out such a wonderful device brain"

Brain sighed softly as he through some sort of device into the motels garbage can. "This device is useless pinky! Just like all the others-"

Dot jumped through the small hole in the fence, chewed in by animals. "Typical..." She whispered to herself as she rolled her eyes.

"Remind me what it was supposed to do again?" Pinky shifted on his feet as brain turned to him.

"It was supposed to turn people's brain into a cavity of empty knowledge, forgetting everything they know but that plan failed the moment it was drawn up, not...my best work" he admitted.

Dots eyes widened at the realization, she brushed the bushes back "ITS YOU!!" she pointed at the quizzical lab mouse.

Brain paused "excuse me?"

Dot growled as she barred her teeth, she pushed her finger into his face "YOU! You made my brothers forget me!!!" She huffed as her eyes twitched.

Brain stepped backwards, brows furrowed "I'm sorry? You seem to misunderstand- how could I have made your-" he paused

Dot huffed as her fur bristled in anger "ITS YOUR FAULT!!!" She accused, brain turned to pinky "it wasn't meant to make people forget, it was meant to-"

"I don't care what it was MEANT to do. You caused this. You fix it!!!" Dot shook him in her hands, her claws starting to dig into the lab mouse.

Brain struggled "well first of all, you're going to calm down." He glared "and you're going to let me go."

Dot glared back just as hard as she slowly released her grip on him, brain wiggled out of her hands and dusted himself off. "I guess what we'll have to do now is head back to the lab, and you're gonna tell me exactly what happened"

"You can't just fix it?" Dot raised a brow.

Brain stared at her "Stupid child, I can't fix what I don't know." He climbed up her arm and onto her shoulder, pinky following. Dot sighed "I'm sorry about shaking you"

Pinky gently patted her cheeks.

Brain sighed "tell me what happened child."

Dot sighed as she started recalling her tale.

Chapter 4: The Loop Begins

Summary:

Dot talks with brain before the day seems to reset

Notes:

This is where the time loop tags come in to play

Chapter Text

Dot walked along the city sidewalk, brain and pinky sitting on her shoulder as the three headed back toward the lab.

Dot pushed open the door to the lab as she snuck through to the back. Closing the doors behind her.

She gently sets brain on the counter as she looks around the entirety of the lab "so let me get this straight-" Dot rubbed her temples gently.

"You built a working time machine?" The afformentioned broken machine in her hands, brain nodded slowly "yes, unfortunately it fell in progression, it never worked how I wanted it to-" he trudged across the counters "So I reworked the machine into-"

"He wanted to make an amnesia machine!" Pinky smiled, his tail slowly swaying in a wagging motion.

Brain lowered his shoulders and sighed "yes. Essentially" he grabbed a few bolts and cables. Dot grabbing the heavier tools and setting them down where brain needed them.

Dot glares softly "and you're?"

"Going to fix this damned machine" brain said with a much rougher tone than he implied.

Dot crossed her arms as she fell to the floor, sliding against the cupboards.

Brain twists and pulls the wrench against the machines mechanical workings. "Perhaps we can reverse this." He grunts "whole situation"

Dot nods softly as she gets back up "are you- sure about this?"

Brain looks at her with a very serious and rather facetious glare. "Of course I'm sure about this." He takes a moment to properly think "there might be a moment of shock so I'd recommend you hold still" he speaks as he finishes tightening the last bolt.

Dot pauses "wait what?-"

Brain pulls the lever as a soft green light emits around dot-

She looked up at yakko, her eyes adjusted onto his golden eyes. Yakko looks back at her "you feeling okay?"

Dot shakes her head softly "sorry...I....I'm okay" she smiles brightly.

The day went on, heading toward the soundstage to film their first episode.

They climb the rather impressive replica of their tower, yakko proceeds to use wakko like a battering ram-

Dot stares off, the director yells cut.

She shakes her head as she clears the fog from her head "Ms warner! Please focus!"

Dot reads over her script "oh! Right sorry!" She gives a polite smile as yakko looks at her "seriously are you okay?"

Dot stares at him "I'm fine.....I promise"

The scene continues onward-

The director calls for a short break as Dot heads over to the concessions table, to grab a glass of punch.

"Okay sis. What's been going on with you lately? You've been kind of out of it all day-"

Dot perks up at the sound of her brothers voice "huh? No...I've .." she stops to think "....I've...been having some weird deja vu....today...."

Yakko places a hand on her shoulder "I'm sure it's just nerves" Dot nodded softly "...nerves yeah....I'm probably just nervous is all- it HAS been 20 years...." She tossed her head in her shoulders.

Yakko smiles softly "is there anything else?"

"Do you ever worry you feel like you're gonna be forgotten?" Yakko pauses "no one's gonna forget you Dot! How could they!" He gently punched her cheek, something she only reserved for yakko.

"Who could ever possibly forget such a cute and adorable lil face like yours?" He clasps his hands together just tucked under his cheek as he swoons jokingly.

Dot laughs softly "ha. Ha" she rolled her eyes as she gave a rather soft smile.

letting out a soft help in surprise as she rolled over onto her side "ow...." She rubbed her head as she got up, holding onto the coffee table. "I should be getting used to doing that by now..." She grumbled.

Yakko looked over "good morning sleepy sweetie" he joked as he flipped the pancakes in the pan. Dot glanced over at him "I've been awake since 6 am." She glared at him as she made her way over to the kitchen.

"Mmmm you being on the couch snoozing up a storm says other wise" yakko smirked matter-of-factly, putting his snout to the air as he continued to saute the eggs.

Dot chuckled sarcastically "There's nothing to do at 6 o clock in the morning" she folded her arms across the table, sliding over the table as she hardened her fists.

"What seems to be the trouble sister sib?" Yakko took a sip of his coffee.

"My problem is, by tomorrow morning, I'm gonna fall of the couch because I'll have TV surfed the night before, wake up, and you'll have no memory of who I am!! And I'm getting tired of it!!" She tugged on her ears.

Yakko raised a brow at this "are you groundhog day-ing?"

She huffed "Hardly." She rolls her eyes.

He scooted closer "so you know what's gonna happen?"

"I don't know how....you're gonna forget me...that's still my biggest issue-"

"Maybe it's some kind of big sadistic joke the writer is trying to pull for funsies" he shrugged softly, taking another sip.

Dot smacks him, pulling him closer "this is serious yakko!!!" She cried.

"Okay, okay just calm down Dot-"

"Don't tell me to calm down pretty boy!" She huffs angrily "this is stressing me out! You have no idea how scary it is to be forgotten!" She tugs gently at his collar.

Yakko gently picks her up "I'll be real with you, that's one of my worst fears-"

"Aside from people thinking you're not funny-"

"That to-" yakko puts his hands on his hips.

"But that's just a fear for you!!" She jumped up, now standing on the table "It's a real thing for me! For me!!! Every night, something happens and you and wakko forget me the next day!!" Hands now closely held against her chest.

Tears were starting to form in the corner of her eyes as she fell to her knees. She moved off the table ".....I guess it really doesn't matter what I do...you'll just forget about anyway..."

"Dot! You know that's not true-"

She glares softly "......47" she mumbled, taking yakko a moment to process "what?"

"47, that's the number of times I've been through this conversation. Every day I wake up, we do reshoots of our show, I know your lines by heart!" She clenches her fists "There's an eclair in the fridge I'm going to give to wakko tomorrow because when I wake up you won't remember me..." She grips the end of her shirt.

"When you won't remember me......I find a motel because I'm scared of coming back...." Tears start falling "It's...hard..." She grips harder "it's hard to watch your brothers forget who you are......to not remember a thing and then wake up the next morning and they suddenly do and have it all repeat over and over..."

Yakko pauses "Dot...." He put a hand on her shoulder, she collapsed into his arms as she sobs "I don't wanna leave....." She cries into his chest.

Yakko holds her "I'll call in today, and ask if we can delay the shooting- we can have a day to our selves yeah?"

Dot quivers and nods softly.

Yakko nods "okay, I'll call Nora and let her know, why don't you go wake up wakko and choose a dvd-"

Dot seemed to perk up as her tail wagged, she made her way over to wakkos room and pushed the door open "wakko?" She whispered.

"Wakko?"
