Magic isn't just in books

Luz was at a library this one shut at 10 but she found a small spot behind a bookshelf it was big enough to sleep in and no one else seemed to have used it in months she had built up skills to survive through the 4 years she had been alone when her father died her mother did internally… 

quite literally she got… something… no one knew what it was all luz knew was that her mother was alive one day the next she was rushed to the hospital while coughing blood and having a seizure after that… she was gone 

leaving luz every cent she and Manny had luz was sent to a foster home… her foster family were racist minus her brother who was homophobic he threatened to “fuck her straight” so terrified she started to pack in case he wasn't joking

He wasn’t… she had to delay running by 2 days so could recover. She then stole her fathers wallet, got as much cash off the card as she could and ran. She was only 10 at the time, now she was 14, her fourteenth birthday…

she still had her Azuara books she had 1 through 4 she knew she should get rid of them or sell them her first one was a first edition but that was the last gift from her father… she couldn't…

‘Expenses are getting tighter though. That was true… silence brain!’ We are NOT getting rid of the book she curled up in the hidey hole going to sleep…

She paled. ‘Why am I in a cage?!’ She's in a glass cage in a large white room with people staring from every direction. They had sharp teeth. She HATED it. She immediately screamed something and suddenly her cage exploded with rainbows in every direction…

‘This is a dream’ it suddenly dawned this isn't real she looked down at herself and saw black-blue fur with light blue  undertones she then noticed a tail and she had some kind of… exoskeleton? ‘This is… new’ she didn't know why she kind of liked it though she smirked and repeated the yell…

She woke up happy when she came out of her hidey hole and went to the library computers… “Are those free to use?” a librarian looked at her and nodded, then left she went on one and typed in her gmail she went on to cat-tok they were ADORABLEEE “ ¡AY, QUÉ LINDO ” a bunch of people looked at her like Wtf?? 

She sheepishly left ‘embarrassing… oh well’ she started walking there’s a shop 2 blocks that way a shelter over there they do free food in the mornings but don't stay the night her brain automatically chanted, remembering the guy who stole her last 20- righttt she needs cash again

She spots an owl with yellow eyes. It looks at her concerned but curious, in response she blinked at… him? Her? Who knows either way the owl left to a new tree then hooted loudly she continued walking

She noticed someone was following her oh their going to try mug her aren't they. She grabbed her knife it was a hunting knife, her fathers she snagged it before her foster “parents” could take it she snapped out of her memories and walked into an alley

He as expected follows her and pulls a knife. She pulls hers, his face flicks in surprise before she smirks and says “let me guess you were going to say ‘give me all your goddamn money brat’ well too bad for you i don’t have any. And if you try to take any of my stuff ill stab you. So walk away now and nothing goes wrong ok?”

She sees him hesitate his eyes flicking to something in her bag- oh right she stole that shed snakeskin pendant thing the layering made it look like a snake silhouette when she shined her flashlight on it, she looked him dead in the eyes and said “try it. If you succeed we both die”

He then lunges she dodges about to stab back she’s never… had to do this… then suddenly she hears a loud hoot as the yellow eyed owl from before attacks him with pecks and claws he practically yowls in pain before falling into the trash she decides to take this chance to run

As she runs she spots a face… it’s oddly familiar she does a double take… nevermind no ones there… she shakes her head and keeps running when she sees the clock tower- fuck! The library and shelter will be closed by now! How the hell- 

She sees the owl again hooting and grabbing her jacket trying to pull her along- scratch that not trying this thing is REALLY strong she yelps as it drags her into a tree she sees the guy that attacked her run out dazed but pissed she keeps silent

The owl flutters as she shakes, she's going to have to leave again… she’s running out of places… will she have to leave the state soon? She’s snapped out of her thoughts- literally the owl snapped a branch and hooted at her

She looks at the owl again giving him gentle pets, he feels like wood but the feathers are soft and warm, his feathers are super tough though- and he grabs her jacket again internally she says ‘where are we off to now’

She looks at him confused. He pulls in a specific direction and grabs a giant bag of trash. When they go in said direction she swears there were forty turns but when she turned around she had walked in a completely straight line… what the fuck

She then sees what the owl was going to a large door it’s got an eye on the front and a handle in the direct middle carved with diamonds and other things in the shapes. There's so many demons on the door- the door opens to a large glow it felt like something wanted her there… so she walked inside…

Species

The main demons in the 3 b’s

Beast:

Rabit the human equivalent of a Boony on fentanal crack and being half ripped apart

Noctirus agslosia (the Noctis) this beast is a owl like creature with a huge form believed to be able to neutralize magic it requires magic to survive as a magiurus it apparently also had a natural supply of celestial steel in its claws and was hunted to extinction and some were trapped in curse scrolls by archivists enemies of the titan that were responsible for their extinction from killing their young they apparently were created by titans to kill archivists

Slitherbeasts are amazing powerful beast demons but very dangerous they average at 30 feet long and 15-20 feet tall they have poison which can be used in three ways

to incapacitate prey for eating by sticking them to a wall in some rare variants though it can paralyze or even kill prey with poisonous gas venom one is made in their fang glands

venom two is corrosive enough to make a full grown witch a skeleton in seconds this is actually digestive acid they can spew without getting sick although it does smell terrible still

The third is the interesting one it's used mainly in potions but slitherbeasts use it to build nests as it hardens into a extremely hard solid like burning amber or frozen bloodtree dew we believe it is made in a sack under their tongue if this got clogged it could be fatal to the slitherbeast

they can be tamed although being the hardest to tame creature on the isles 

Selkiedomus the selkie is a very friendly beast they are massive about 4 times the size of a Slitherbeast when full grown but there are exceptions where Selkiedomus’s are bigger or smaller than the average they don’t usually go out of some ranges but they can the biggest selkie ever seen was around 200 feet in length and 70 feet in height when laying down it was a light white-blue and was believed to be semi aquatic unlike most selkie’s were not sure if this thing is real or even a selkie if it is real people still question how this would even be possible do they use magic to hold such a structure?

The abominable cutie pie despite the adorable name their deadly apparently if they use their powers they resemble fairy’s unluckily anyone who's seen this form hasn’t lived to tell the tale so this cannot be confirmed

Ratworms are classed as beast type demons due to their internal structure unlike bugs type demons they are not a type of worm in fact being closer to a species of snake that went extinct called the glidersnake but moving on from that they are usually used in whats called “rat” races among teens in reality they're just races on a ratworm teens take it further though and use extremely dangerous courses 

the glidersnake could fly and was believed to be sentient we are unsure though if they were sentient as that information was lost in the savage ages we also believe their the closest relative to basilisks but they are classed in ttdnft we are unsure if glidersnakes should be classed there

Griffins are more powerful with a feathered mane on their neck yellow-brown fur on her backside with a long brown furred fail with grey feathers on the end their huge grey feathered wings they are able to have different colors though sometimes their white and black spotty splotchey stripy on the fur and a different pattern in the feathers they also have spider breath that with their sharp beak and claws make them formidable in battle their intelligent too but hard to train

Biped:

Bipeds have too many species subspecies ect to count so we’ll go over the main ones

Witches the main inhabitantence of the isles extremely proficient in magic due to large bile sacks and their limbs being able to make larger circles 

Mini demons these fellas are mainly filled with subspecies but can actually reproduce with anyone in this category the emperors coven advisor being one kikimora

This is the oddity group all the things like for instance a bane of magic a grimwalker bug bipeds those guys are weird and more count here there was a principle in this category once principle fauce he was believed to be a combination of a monster of titan magic and some type of witch

Vampires… uh… well they have venom that can paralyze things? We think… they use shadow and blood magic… if thats real? We think they descended from some species of cat demon long extinct? They were banished 2,751 years ago? Well if this year is 2022 oop jerry told me it’s 2025 time flies! They have to drink magically blood to sustain themselves. We believe that they were genetically similar to some species of human realm creature from the Deadwardian era also jerry said hi! (theres a odd mark at the bottom of the page amity is confused but ignores it)

Bug:

Fairy’s these skin eaters are very… annoying to say the least they usually work in coordinated groups of 15-50 the biggest group out of swarming season was believed to be 231… ueh disgusting they can mate with almost any type of bug demon in the same size

Literal bugs NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH BUG BIPEDS these bugs are sentient and all but they are about the size of a fairy on average and tend to be annoying little shits or chill nice dudes they have swarming seasons but tend to have them in normal set out mating grounds like fairies

Parasites these guys SUCK they sometimes are sentient sometimes aren't but usually their ok they sometimes even infest houses large creatures or structures but more people are unsure where the lines blur

Hooty we dont know what the fuck the owl houses house demon is but he says hes a bug so hooty’s are giant owl worm tubes with twisted minds who are powerful enough to take full leagues or coven scouts no problem then traumatise them usually with tea parties

Eda decided owlbert was right this kid needed help a lot of it “look kid. You do have a bed for tonight you can stay with me at no cost, no strings. K kid?” luz was immediately suspicious there was ALWAYS a catch there's no such thing as a free lunch in this world… well she’s not in that world anymore is she… “...seriously? Will you actually let me stay with you?” 

Eda wanted to kill whoever hurt this innocent little bean she was so sweet she silently made a pact to kill whoever did this and protect her forever if she’d let her “...well i won’t tolerate freeloaders ya gotta do some work but yes other then that you have no bills to pay you just have to help with like me and king… and house work too i guess” she was honest… that’s a good sign

Luz let her guard down a little she was really tired “...ok then” if it turned out bad she could escape when they slept, she knew how to unlock handcuffs, untie ropes with one hand, identify knots, and some types of drugs from appearance, taste, touch, and smell and some poisons during her time as a gang member- she was glad she left now what if they had found her again- ‘how did i get here?’ she snaps out of it and follows Eda who pulls out Owlbert and mounts him

Eda was glad when they landed she had used a decent amount of magic today and this mama owl needed rest! Hooty greeted them “HIYA EDA HOOT HOOT WHOS THE NEW FRIEND? Down on her luck girl with no one else to turn to? who will eventually be irreparably changed by the boiling isles like every human I've seen?” Eda groaned before suddenly stopping “excuse me what was that last part?!”

Hooty who had gotten distracted by bugs turned and looked at her with a grin able to eat moons “YOUR ASKING ME A QUESTION?! WELL I WAS-” eda suddenly covered her ears “NEVERMIND JUST STOP TALKING AND LET US IN”

Luz had some questions “do you have a roommate? there's fur everywhere like black fur-” Eda smirks “yes actually- here they come now!” a king clad in towel with a ducky on his head walks in grumpy “EDAA STOP TALKING SO LOUD I WAS HAVING A BATH” eda swore luz’s pupils dilated to the size of moons “ ¡AY, QUÉ LINDO ” she grabbed him picking him up and hugging him he squirmed and fought the hug “UGH WEIRD HUMAN STOP CRUSHING ME! At the conformitorium…

Warden wrath was ‘punishing’ a criminal again lilith shivered she hated always hearing those screams she hated the emperor she hated the emperor's coven she wish she could resig- no. you have to get eda cured first lilith… she wished there was a way other then the emperor she hated him last time lilith messed up he threw her into a wall hard enough to break her bones, if she hadn’t had time for that spell… she shudders then walks into the teleporter room and was brought to the main palace she was happy to see… no one! It meant she could sleep tonight. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she fell asleep…

the next night

Not long after Lilith had left Eda and her “apprentices not children” arrived “well kiddos I’ll send ya up to the roof then distract the guards after that I’ll fly up k? Be. stealthy.” luz responded with “stealthy? I definitely came prepared meow meow!” with the meow meow the cat ears on her hoodie propped up Eda smirked and said “yeah you’ll fit in just fine now mama has some guards to distract” in luz’s mind: ‘Eda is SO COOL when I grow up I wanna be like Eda’ luz is snapped out of it though when she and king are encased in a magic bubble and sent to the top of the tower as Eda runs because of guards chasing her

luz and king once in the tower they move through the conformitorium… Luz meets 3 demons, they don’t seem too bad? “Hey cat girl! how’d you get out of your cell!” Luz says “oh- I’m not a criminal” king responds with “you're about to be!” Luz grumbles “whatever- anyways why are you guys here?” the girl with katya on her cell said “i was writing fanfic about food and love. I like food and I like love. Let me write about it!” luz was flabbergasted ‘in a cell… for writing fanfiction? What the fuck’

“WHAT?! You just wrote fanfiction- I’m nearly scared to ask what are those guys in for!” she looks at who luz is pointing at “oh tinella and frank? Frank eats his own eyeballs. Tinella is a conspiracy theorist” frank waved and tinella started going on about: “THE WORLD IS A TRIANGLES WE ARE NOTHING BUT PLAY-THINGS FOR A HIGHER BEING!” Luz became ENRAGED “WHAT?! but -but you're just weirdo’s! They hear warden wrath approaching “hide! Now!” Luz saw a cell that was open and slid inside they hear someone stomping forward “Just what are you fools whispering about?” he looks down at Eda's wanted poster that Luz had dropped. “Ah. The Owl Lady.” he picks up the poster and crumples it, turning his fist into a hammer and slamming it into the door of Luz's cell. “I'll get my hands on her soon enough”

Tinella, very sweet but very very much screwed said “Fight against the oppwessor! We will wesist! We will conquer! We will never be afwaid of you, you old cweep!” the warden opened her cell “Howay I’m fwee!” when it’s picked up by her head “Let this be a lesson for all of you. You have no place in society if you can fit. in.” and brought off somewhere probably to be tortured

“now RUN girl in the cat hoodie live life for the rest of us!” luz ran to her cell “no! I have to try free you first-” she pulls down on the lever its stuck- FUCK “no- nonono come on! Damn my weak nerd arms” she hears the warden torturing Tinella and King says “come on luz time to go!” she very conflicted follows King they reach a door

Eda was starting to get worried the warden was torturing some small defenceless biped demon poor demon but oh well hey luz and king finally got here! “Heya kids the warden is off torturing some defenceless demon so he’ll be busy for a while now lets get kings crown and get out” she didn’t really know why but luz looked REALLY upset at the first part- well she’ll deal with that later after all she might not even end up adopting this kid- “ok human! Lets go before king hurts himsel-” there’s a zap from inside as king has managed to get the door open and rush in “too late lets go also if ya see anything useful take” 

They walked into a large cylindrical room with a smaller cylinder of glowing light in the middle luz walked towards it slow and wary when King charged against it making a small hole in the barrier… damn- she walks to the edge of the barrier presing her hand against it then yelping back in shock it felt like something had used pins to prick her entire arm when her hand went through it felt like it… pushed her hand out? That's… odd she's not magic the barrier shouldn’t affect her she tries again there’s a odd pain in her chest as she tries again it hurts ALOT then shes inside the barrier 

Luz looks around at the top of the pile there’s a small golden colored crown she picks it up… wait… this is a- 

“Eda, why did she do all that for a toy crown? It doesn’t really give him powers does it?” She had picked up a few other things and the border turned off when she exited. She noticed king picked up a bunny calling it Francois but she decided to ask this first Eda’s response was “Oh, look at us, Luz. King and I don't have much in this world. We only have each other. So if that dumb crown is important to him, it's important to me. And besides, us weirdos have to stick together you know?” luz looked really interested then heard a bang of the door opening and the stench of warden wrath

Before she could react warden wrath cut Eda’s head off she screamed as Eda’s head fell into her lap ‘another person died not again please-’ Eda then suddenly said “OW oh i hate it when that happens” luz screamed even louder then warden wrath knocked king over and crushed his crown grabbing Eda’s head lifting her so she was face to face with him while her body aimlessly walked in circles “Eda the owl lady. I knew if I stole your pets toy you’d come running.” Eda snarled exposing her other fang “what do you want with me! I’ve never broken any of your stupid laws!.. In Front of you-” he pulls out a bundle of flowers “I want you to go out with me”

Luz eda and king looked disgusted… was he serious- the guards in the background cheered for him with encouragement yes, yes he was Eda in a barely veiled disgusted tone just said “wha..?” Luz in a more outwardly disgusted tone “what???” the warden ignoring luz replied with “you always eluded our capture, the one witch i could never catch… i found that alluring” luz’s chest hurt she didn't know why it was pissing her off nearly as much as warden wrath was she wanted to scream or shout or do something but she… couldn’t but she could piss him off

Luz did really wanted to vomit so she decided that words the best way to piss him off “I hate everything you're saying right now” he glared at her “STAY OUT OF THIS HUMAN!” he roared this at the top of his lungs making Eda Luz and King’s ears ring the pain in Luz’s chest got tighter he held Eda’s head closer to his face “so how about it Eda the owl lady? We’d be the strongest power couple ever… and it’s not like you can really say no right now”

Luz squirmed no way in hell this was happening eda looked at her sighed then turned back to warden wrath “fine fine put luz down first Warden. You win. I'd just like to say something first. Come closer. No. Just come a little bit closer. Just... Yeah, that's good” she then blows a raspberry in his face luz would have laughed at the top of her lungs if everything wasn’t spinning from the pain he drops luz suddenly as if  he got burned luz in question got an odd feeling it was that weird burning but freezing at the same time feeling when the pain in her chest felt like it burst suddenly she couldn’t help it screamed something no one made out what she said even her but a blast of rainbow light knocked the warden into the wall she then passed out from the pain

Luz slowly felt darkness creep in… she suddenly knew…

Eda was very confused what the fuck did this human just do?! warden wrath was breathing… good this human didn’t need to be accosted for murder she would say a spell malfunctioned hell she doubted the guards or the warden would remember this, all of them were bleeding one was muttering in his sleep about… talking frogs?- 

whatever! Eda! Focus come on- her meds that would help- she internally scowled but they would put her mind in order for long enough to take care of luz she grabbed a small bottle of adderall and took 1 these weird human things did help her focus… somehow she was glad for her quick digestive system when they kicked in

She then got an idea, a BRILLIANT idea she could use the master lever, to open all the cages jailbreak and a distraction, so she can deal with no guards she left a note saying “sorry a spell malfunctioned get well soon guards!! Warden wrath. YOU HAD YOUR GUARDS STALK ME, YOU STOLE MY KIDS STUFF, ENDANGERED THEM, THEN ASKED ME OUT?! FUCK YOU! BURN. IN. HELL.”

she believed this was appropriate enough, because of the situation then immediately grabbed Owlbert and started riding home, with luz and king of course, king was being weird “Eda?.. Is Luz… going to be ok? She’s my new favorite minion… behind Francois don't tell her” he holds up a bunny plush his new favorite he snagged in the contraband area ,smiling

On the back of Owlbert there was a white sack in it was Azura 5 and a book called murder on the dancefloor it was a huge cover page with a drawn thick black circle on it with smaller white circle lines on it… was luz in a cult? Whatever even her and lily were in one of those once, she was more worried about the girl she was currently holding, it was definitely magic exhaustion but that can’t be true… because luz is human and humans don’t HAVE magic she would know! she’s dated multiple

'…what was luz?' “I believe i have an idea” E da nearly jumped Owlbert was a smart bird if he had an idea he usually was right “well?” O wlbert mentally sighed “I think the girl is partially a witch… or something, think about it both her parents are dead, if a witch got stuck in a place with little to no magic and was unable to sustain her bile sack… well you know what happens there or any demon really she probably didn’t survive the vast lack of magic depending on the type of witch or demon she might become a demon, maybe her growth was stunted from lack of magic?” 

Eda internally groaned she was REALLY hoping that luz wasn't going to be some new case of issues for Eda to unpack, as she really Really didn’t know what to do… well hey she can probably teach her magic once she finishes developing a bile sack… ‘or… maybe she won’t develop one…’ she heard that scraping in the back of her head when they were home followed by a familiar voice… but it said something new “O҉w҉l҉e҉t҉ .҉b҉a҉c҉k҉?҉” Owlet? Eda attempted to call out to the owl beast “what owlet?!” it was ANNOYINGLY silent! then she realized HOOTY was taking care of luz-

She immediately ran upstairs to see… Hooty had given her a magic replenishing potion the fumes could be used for speeding up bile production, drinking it would give a coven level witch a boost, a normal demon or witch either would get an overcharge, making them more powerful for a while then super tired, for at least a day… unless their bile sack exploded causing them a heart attack, internal bleeding and you better hope death was quick, as bile sack transfusions are impossible 

Eda remembered the few times she’d seen that… coughing blood, seizures all of it it happened from a damaged bile sack she should do a diagnostic to make sure nothing was wrong with luz’s bile sack… and find out if she has one too, as well as some other things Eda started the diagnostic spell luz’s bile sack was… severely underdeveloped, expected but it was unusually strong in fact her heart seemed to be making bile from two places the part inside her heart was odd but maybe a birth defect from being half human?..

She had only one stomach although it was oddly… strong, possibly able to digest boiling isles food and it had the extra section before her intestine that let her digest out anything harmful for instance any preservatives or spices in foods would be completely broken down and absorbed… huh and her organs were also preparing for demon puberty… oh joy luz was going to deal with BIG changes as her body was preparing for a full overrun her parent or parents must have had a interesting bloodline she decides to check the DNA specifically then suddenly her eyes widened significantly…

Eda redid the spell… then again… and again what… the… fuck?! What were her parents?? She redid the spell she can only make out half of it but… human? The genetic marker was human… why wasn’t luz?! Immediately she practically jumped to page 243 here it described the anatomy of the ones we’ve seen or know of and what we know about them for the first 20 pages the last four had what she needed what happened to non magical creatures in the boiling isles the heading stared at her as she read it and re-read it… ok… come on Eda you… you can do this

Our first experiments just consisted of food from the boiling isles we tried a few different types on adult boonys or myce first the adults died from anything in the Veneni family of plants and venuiri animal family after some research we found out that some of the toxins in these are fatal to them while witches find them enjoyable we tried things without toxins and they survived much longer but sometimes died of malnutrition unless given nutrient potions and or a diverse diet some species also were herbivorous or carnivores and could only digest one type of food

Eda visibly was disgusted… poor bunnies and mice they didn’t deserve that

The more interesting thing happened when we gave them plants from a magically rich family of plant or animal that didn't have the toxins the boony’s that were adults usually died a very… gruesome end we’ll put it lightly this happened during a painbow (starting the myth of it turning you inside out while causing pain and discomfort their not that bad) the cub boony’s would transform though some even proving to thrive while not all bunnies survived it by eating magical food some even would naturally gain some changes to their immunal system over a span of 6 months to a year allowing them to eat all foods changed boony’s could even sometimes mate with a demonically similar creature like a killer Rabit (rabies+rabbit) making what were calling wereRabits they could start as half baby boony’s if kept in a magic free environment then introduced they turned faster the more B.I-DNA the faster(we think)

This intrigued Eda. Was that what was happening to Luz? That would explain things…

Also the environment is very important after putting a mice around a Echo mouse they could slowly shed fur and skin becoming one if left on titan bones alone they would usually fit the plants more or if none of those were there they would become something random if left near a witch some even rarely became sentient but the most interesting thing is they adopt their DNA by their magic being naturally released into the air around them either by using it or if in magic overload our pors eject it also a defense mechanism so sometimes a witch/demon will just randomly do a spell if threatened

WHAT wait wouldn’t that make luz like PART HER?! IS LUZ HER KID NOW?! Wait… if kings magic got around her would she turn partially… into king… DOES THAT MAKE THEM SIBLINGS?! And king spends more time with her- hell he sleeps ON HER BED… is it reversible? Or partially reversible? 

The interesting thing is about 73% of the time they might just turn into the closest thing to their species for instance a bunny into a Rabit but oddly enough a hybrid boony mixed with say a Psychilla would make them half psychilla and half rabit and weirdly enough if putting a different rabit next to the half rabit and it would replace the original’s dna often causing physical changes that caused extreme physical pain

this odd factor though basilisk blood chip of a galderstone some blood from anything it fused with (cant be from after transformation) and its non magic counter part and BOOM it on will could turn back while keeping the inteligence better strength speed ect it is quite interesting but the frequency of finding them is going down and our entire population got killed out by the Bloodspotter's spores as we forgot to vaccinate them and apparently they can’t replicate memory B cells therefore making them very suitable to normal diseases that we’re usually more immune too

Ok ok so she might not be completely her and king she might be like half her that does explain the clawthorne dna on her witches side maybe she won’t turn more into a mini eda?- Huh that’s interesting she knew human immune systems were weak compared to a witch she should get her shots as soon as possible until then she had too keep her from getting sick… and keep some cure potions on hand for the most common things like the common mold the boiling plague- oh god she forgot about tick born diseases she’d given king shots but not luz! He’s gonna have to get used to tick free potions now oh well another few expenses on the seeds for the ingredients

Well that just meant less apple blood… well luz should be fine -if it’s just magic replenishing- by morning… after she could send them out on their first job potion delivering and of course teaching them criminal skills was of first importance after that the sooner they learn to pickpocket the better and lock picking was good too once they were criminals like her it’d be easier to take care of them… but… she would only teach them they don’t HAVE to be criminals

She hears a scraping in the back of her mind- ‘fuck wheres- my elixir!’ she summons it with magic drinking it the barrier in her mind strengthened the owl beast growled internally it was thinking in it’s own language it knew english but she never used it when she did it was creepy like commanding hooty with their spiritual ownership thing Ueh-

She decided to go to her room and sleep it’s like 3 am after all…

The owl beast chirped in her mind hugging the witches mental form she felt warm she didn’t understand this as her apology but good enough that memory was muddled as she tried to repress it but she had failed to do so completely she wanted freedom of this curse. to feed off the magic of the thing that she had to protect, the curse of the ꍏꋪꉓꃅꀤꃴꀤꌗ꓄ꌗ life she growled under her breath

That’s important for now though… she has some magical ability and technically she has affected her witch that means owlet might get curse… and that she will be her owlet? The furry one… owlet too?.. The witch is still in the memory… it can not hear her… good. She will wait until morning… this time

Luz felt like SHIT “ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” wait… WHERE’S EDA AND KING ARE THEY SAFE- she suddenly registers aside from everything aching there’s weight on her chest she lifts her head to see a sleeping king and the door open she decides to wake king up by the sassiest method ever in her best eda impression she says “KING IF YOU DON’T GET YOUR BUTT UP THEN YOUR ON HOOTY CLEANING DUTY!” king comically wakes looking around in fear when eda is heard laughing in the other room luz smirked king grumpily looked at her and said “DON’T MAKE JOKES LIKE THAT I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA HAVE TO CLEAN HOOTY!- Your ok!” he hugs luz just then eda walks in leaning against the doorframe and says “well you do infact have to help me clean hooty if you don’t help luz with delivering potions today”

King looks even more betrayed and luz starts laughing eda internally says ‘nailed it’ the owl beast is silent… she must have had her elixir already and forgot uehhh she needs appleblood before she can do things… am i an alcoholic? She hears a faint chirp ‘yes you are witch’ she immediately is offended ‘no i’m not!’ ‘ok then. Go one full day no… apool blud? Apple blud? Apple blood?’ eda grumpily says back ‘ugh. Fine’ then eda naps out of it and says ‘no i had my elixir you can’t do shit’ the owl beast grumpy in her mind left her alone

Luz and king noticed eda zoning out and took the chance to surprise her by king grabbing a blanket and luz a candy then handing the candy when king used the blanket to trip her luz immediately paled and said “OMGIMSOSORRYIDIDNTKNOWHEWOULDDOTHATDONTHITMEPLEASE” king didn’t seem to make it out but eda froze then started looking pissed “Who has been doing that.” eda was PISSED luz whimpered looking at the ground and said “i-uh no one!”

Eda swore to god if she found out who she would “KILL PROTECT OWLET”  for once she agreed with the owl beast she wanted to KILL whoever hurt her owlet luz but she couldn’t push her to tell her who did it… so she should give luz something else to do for ‘witch lessons’ … well potions is technically magic but usually doesn’t require magic from the witch herself… so she could learn that while her bile sack develops… she probably knows herself right?..

Eda was thinking for about half a second in reality about a small good thing on the curse she thinks faster “ok then… well fluffy brat and mischievous brat-” king and luz let out small gasps of sarcastic offense king taking it a step further doing a dramatic “WEH!” and falling on the coach in a dramatic death luz joining in “Oh mah gawd! Eda! You killed him! He’s dead! The horror! The HORROR" Eda rolls  her eyes with a mock gasp “well i guess he can’t go potion delivering with you then…” king in victory jumps up with a victory weh “...so he’ll have to help clean hooty instead” he immediately jumps into luz’s hoodie “COME ON FAIR CHARIOT!”

Eda snorts in amusement as the fluffy horned little pup didn’t hesitate to run in fear of cleaning hooty still how does he get so dirty she shivers… ‘yep maybe i dont wanna know’ she watches her kids the apprentices run holding the potions their going into the market now she sighs king knows the place well enough they’ll both be fine the small pang of worry doesn’t leave her… she feels like something bad is going to happen…

King and Luz’s ‘adventure’

Luz was nervous at first but it quickly dwindled ‘this place was amazing! It was just like mami’s old stories she told luz about The red sky the red leaves the mystical and magical… definitely not for the squeamish though’ as she passed a guy who seemed to be made completely of muscle and oozing blood… unnerving was an understatement... she also felt hungry though why was that? she looked at a lot of things but made sure not to stare a habit she picked up in stores they kept thinking she’d steal stuff… if things got tight she would

King bapped her on the back of her head “Hey- owch- stop that!” She had a bad ache through her entire body and was going to run out of painkillers since she only had one bottle that was already a quarter empty when she got here, their non perishable but still they only numbed pain king looked confused “weh? But usually we roughhouse most of the time” luz sighs “you have bone claws king no hitting my head!” king inspected his claws then looked at the back of luz’s head in concern luz didn’t see him do this but felt her hoodie shift a bit before warm fluff rested against her skull that… actually helped the pains a bit

King felt bad and wanted to make it better he then got a good idea he can purr purring always helped Eda’s pains and kept her calm he started a low rumble in his throat luz felt awesomeeee her pains were still there but not really throbbing anymore just like a dull aching and the pressure in the back of her skull was… still there but not as bad she realized when she felt king shift and say “why are you purring?” that she was purring… oops

King was confused eda rarely purred and she was a witch it was natural for them and here was luz… a human things known for being odd by demon standards that DEFINITELY don’t naturally purr… purring was he incorrect? Do humans naturally purr? “...purring? I don’t know, I've never purred before, it's not really a normal human thing” nevermind then… Why is Luz purring?

They only realize it’s the last house when it’s a giant castle for the guy named adegast king smelled bs over everything so did luz “big houses always belong to big whackjobs let’s just kick the package in and leave” luz sighed “but then how will we be payed king?” King didn’t like any of this… everything here smelt like rotting organs and potions but Luz had a point… “fine. But as soon as were done we get out i don’t like this place”

Luz knocks cautiously and steps back a bit “hey king they might not be hom-” a wizard bursts out king growls hackles rising he knows a con when he sees one hes the ₴Ø₦ apprentice of the best one on the isles for titans sake! Luz also seems suspicious “here's your order sir.” adegast takes them then asks “I thought Eda did all the orders herself” king and luz both stiffen slightly then silently decide not to tell him much “she usually does were just doing it for her today” he smiles in a way that’s a bit to wide and very unnerving “oh but why are you covering then children?”

Luz and king are not feeling safe. King clicks the panic button on his collar with his tail 

**at the owl house**

Eda hears a familiar Beep Beep Beep KINGS PANIC BUTTON he only uses that in REAL danger she summons owlbert and rushes outside starting to fly the location is at the last guys house adegast or something

**back with luz and king**

as luz says “were her apprentices and can we have our payment please.” he hands her 17 snails thats… 7 short “we need seven more” he hands over 3 more “ok then four more now.” he hands over 4 more “now i have a question.” luz and king skeptically look at each other when adegast says “would you like to stay a while?” both king and luz immediately say “no thank you we have to go now” king in luz’s hoodie is shaking and luz runs when suddenly a tentacle wraps around her dragging her inside she tries to scream but her mouth gets covered instinctively she bites growling with something that made him jolt but not loosen or maybe that was the pain she did taste blood right now 

Luz suddenly felt a RRRRRIP she didn’t feel a tension pulling from her mouth anymore she heard screeches and screams from infront of her she opens her eyes ‘when did i close them?’ she sees pale blue liquid drip from the white-blueish substance in her mouth… oh… this is- “AHHHHH MY TENTACLE” she saw the monster that was attacking reel back in shock “WH-WHAT DID YOU DO?! WH-WHY W-WON’T IT GROW BACK?!” he was shrinking more and more the pale-purple blue… thing rapidly diminishing… 

Eda, for fear of her kids was flying fast, the feathers she was rapidly sprouting were scattered over the whole route when she finally arrived… well this was unexpected

King stared at luz in shock pale blue thick stuff? splattered on his pelt he didn’t know blood and conquest was so disgusting he realized as adegast shrunk right he’s a puppeteer demon- EW WAIT THAT’S WORSE Puppeteer demons are swallowed whole for a reason while magically rich especially in big forms if eating pieces of a big form you have to cook the pus they use as muscle OUT and luz and him definitely hadn’t he made a choked squeak and started cleaning himself it tasted TERRIBLE

Luz stared at the rapidly shrinking demon then growled he tasted terrible… even though something in her told her ɛǟȶ ɨȶ she didn’t know what but before she could stop herself her mouth opened something was making her front teeth ache but she didn’t care… oh he would pay. She pounced on to all fours holding him down with one hand she felt some sort of warm spicy feeling in her stomach explode and she growled nearly feral from no where he was bleeding his diminutive form cast as many spell circles as possible the spell circles were bright white she hissed this hurt her eyes

Suddenly he yelled “WAIT YOUR NOT A HUMAN YOUR A-” luz silenced him permanently dropping him into her mouth she felt instantly twice as good she wanted to preen herself for a successful hunt for doing well on her first real hunt- she then broke out of those thoughts ‘what am i even thinking’ shes snapped back to reality by hearing 3 things purring clapping and some fluffy arms around her waist she looks down to see a tail wagging king “LUZ YOU WERE SO COOL YOU LOOKED LIKE A REAL PREDATORY DEMON” Eda was the one clapping and all three of them were purring Eda’s purr was a low rumble king a higher rumble from genuine excitement and luz’s own was shakier and more ecstatic

Eda smirked but then asked “king why’d ya not join in! I know how sharp your claws are and ”you’ve been begging for bloodshed for weeks!” she heard him grumpily weh then turned to luz with a near motherly look “good job kid puppeteer demons aren’t easy foes! And your instincts seem to be all good you already knew proper hunting how to eat him ya know” luz looked at her confused then said while Eda turned back summoning owlbert “what do you mean instincts ” eda froze “ha… ha… right i haven’t told you yet…” she looks at the ground luz feels a rush of panic 

“WHAT- WHAT HAVEN’T YOU TOLE ME?!” eda visibly winced “...kid let’s get home first… trust me… you’ll wanna sit down for this” they all pile on owlbert eda worried king confused and luz scared they fly back in awkward silence owlbert communicating with an unwilling to talk eda

TIMESKIP TO WHEN THEIR HOME

Luz starts nervous pacing when eda pats the spot on the coach next to her “king go to bed. Luz… sit down owlet” luz did as told with a fearful look in her eyes she then takes a breath “luz… i did some research on human realm creatures in the boiling isles… your… your going to turn into the closest sub species to a human… and apparently for you it’s not going to be… all fun and games we’ll say” Eda winced and glanced back at luz who then seemed fine “wait wait wait what is this all about?”

Eda stares in shock then sputters “W-well YEAH! Your going to transform. INTO A DEMON. Doesn't that like freak you out?! Scare you?! Something?!” luz laughed like genuinely laughed Eda was genuinely flabbergasted “Eda! I know your a prankster but come on!” eda then faltered “...im not joking luz” luz suddenly shut up her laughs now turning to a nervous disbelieving chuckle “h-ha ha E-Eda come on wheres ya proof” eda sighed grabbing the textbook from her hair opening it to 263 showing luz the experiments she starts shaking then asks 

“Eda what’s the closest thing to a human on the isles?”

Chapter Text

During eda and luz’s talk theres a witch practicing plant magic in the woods

Willow was practicing plant magic as a way to let off steam UGH! She hated abominations she hated Boscha she hated that stupid stupid STUPID fucking smirk she hated that annoying friend-betraying shit amity oops- she looked at the now plant that had rapidly grown and grabbed half the school shaking it she saw principal bump looks astonished… shes so screwed isn't she-

Bump had to admit he hadn’t seen this much raw magical prowess since Edalyn came here… maybe she should shift from abomination to plant she hasn’t ever gotten good marks in abomination and seems to be a natural plant witch that would also mean less complaints of sobbing from his office when her parents visited... and less from terra for 'lackluster plant track students'

Willow was preparing for the worst when principle bump walked up to her until he said “as impressive as this magic is, you still caused COMPLETE CHAOS IN THE SCHOOL! As such i'm swapping you to the plant track giving you extra classwork no lunch or recess and you will be immediately going to the nearest plant classroom and start studying. Understood willow?” willow couldn’t have imagined this in her wildest dreams BEST DAY EVER

“Y-Yeah its understood but- I need a schedule and I need to swap my uniform and I need to return my abomination textbooks and-” bump cuts her off “hold out your scroll” he casts a spell and her timetable and clothes change to match the plant track with vine marked sleeves she ran off excited for the rest of the day and to tell agustus the good news 

With Eda and luz after the talk

“K kid we're gonna have to search because one i don't know two i can only offer a way to turn back and no offense i don't have a galderstone, basilisk blood human blood or… blood from whatever your turning into and it Cant be from you it says it in the text” worst case is it was something extinct or banished to the human realm most of those died out very few of the banished creatures could survive without magic after all it’s why Eda stopped living in the human realm

Giraffes being beast demons originally were able to develop magic eroding venom but they were omnivores and didn’t require magic they just used it for venom and didn’t require it to survive so their still around just less dangerous still a bunch of fucking freaks though the thing she was scared of the most is luz turning into a vampire she had spent ALOT of time in the human realm so she has ALOT of contact with them... in a way i guess vampires were a direct decent of the titans blood they apparently in the start of time manifested in clumping blood

Eda shivered even as a wild witch her mother told her stories of vampire overlords the oaths they’d make to force people to submit to them if she remembered correctly a particularly vicious one that claimed a blight dated her for a while when one day she apparently got attacked by the blight then used an oath to transform her into a blood slave an outdated term it was illegal but she still did it in her rage Eda had to be honest one of the few things that genuinely scared her were vampires they had strong magic they primarily needed blood and magic to function though so they most probably died out in the human realm that’s probably for the better

Luz was reading intently Eda noticed some small changes her irises had a yellow gold ring like hers but there were red hints in her eyes and her ears kept twitching like they wanted to move her hair was starting to fluff up at the roots and become more clumped to her head instead of flying everywhere she had slightly enlarged pupils and slight points at the top and bottom her shoulders kept rolling like there was something wrong there and her nails were becoming less stable which appeared to be painful

Eda sighed she should get something happening to distract her she was clearly in pain from the small flinches when she had something touch her hands especially around the claws she should bring them to the trash slug! What distracts more then a giant bunch a garbage after all “hey kiddo wanna go to your first proper wild witch lesson?” Luz immediately perked up “Witch lesson?! Hel- heck yeah!” Eda snorts king was used to hearing swear words but luz didn't know that and king wouldn’t say them so she would never know! Eda snorted a laugh this was hilarious

Luz looked at her confused king understood though and laughed as well Luz confused looked between both of them “what? Whats funny??” they both laughed harder luz now annoyed huffed and said “stop itttttttttttttt” Eda finally stopped and said “ok ok” king dramatically said “wait another wild witch lesson?! Noooooooo those are so annoyinggg” luz laughed yeah right how could witch lessons be boring!

12 minutes later

Never mind king was right this fucking sucks this smells like someone mixed that weird water that accumulates at the bottom of garbage bins old milk and rotting corpses she felt like throwing up and long on behold it was twice as strong when they landed and she now understood why Eda brought nose plugs and masks luz grabbed them immediately and put them on still was DISGUSTING “...eda what the fuck are we doing at a place that smells so bad it should be a crime scene”

Eda smirked “why young luz you have no faith in your mentor do you!” luz in a perfect deadpan just said “no. no i dont.” eda in drama queen fashion laid on owlbert saying “oh how you wound me child!” luz then again said “seriously though why are we here?” eda smirks again “because of… THIS!” she dramatically poses a little too far to the right to show…

A giant slimy gray thing which looked like a giant gray-green slug except its abdomen was ripped open and the skin was dried out and covered in encrusted salt and burn wounds there was green-yellow blood and a bunch of semi transparent grey-green pus she wanted to throw up… again she sees in the garbage some human items but doesn’t care right now as she looks down at the head open in four ways like a flower to reveal a rotting esophagus ueaghuh she shivered

Eda snorted “what is it too much for ya? Can’t handle the trash slug? they live a ‘cool’ life” she had to be honest seeing the human this grossed out by something that would eventually become part of her chores and possibly training if they go over potions luz then said “yeahhh Eda is it ok if i skip out on my second less- AKC” Eda pushed luz forward saying 

“Come on owlet! You will need this if ya wanna learn potions like ever you're gonna need to learn how to get ingredients and either way a great witch is resourceful if ya don’t learn here then you need some sort of lesson…” she spots an evervine seed in the belly of the beast… there’s always a good way to test if her dna is being swapped with Clawthorne the good ol chaos test “in fact luz here's your challenge for the day find something to do with this slimeball by the end of the day”

Luz, confused but intrigued, accepted “Ok then! Let me guess this has some sort of powerful magical thing you're not going to tell me about and let me try figure it out on my own?” Eda snorted and ruffled her hair “your picking this up too quick kid” Eda winced her hair was fluffy like a clawthornes that not a good sign it was also growing extremely fast… just like hers and lily’s when they were luz’s age if she follows the pattern for Clawthorne fangs then she’ll lose her baby fangs in a few months 

Luz squinted at the seed, she had a tingling feeling in her stomach… hmm she got an idea “bye Eda! I’m gonna go look for something from hooty- also is the left clearing of the house free today?” Eda nodded “yeah also warning hooty is grumpy as someone ate everything we had no leftovers for him” Luz grinned the way Eda does exposing a slightly sharper incisor by accident when she opened her mouth to speak Eda froze yep her kids definitely turning into a witch… or demon she supposes since king’s been near her… huh she might turn into a half king does that make them step siblings-

“Luz is gone well i guess SOMEONE HAS TO GET OFF HIS FAT ASS AND WORK” king jumped then growled at eda turning around like a cat keeping his tail down thankfully and loafing facing away from eda head high “oh excuse me mister come on-” eda picks king up by his scruff he yelps then struggles “Noooo mom this is boringggg” Eda froze did king call her- Nevermind that Eda you know he’ll have to leave don’t get attached! “In ya go dumby” she chucks him into the inner skin that is usually like a soft cushion kings horns get stuck she chuckles and starts helping him out

“K k stop squirming, ya big baby!” king squeaked out a weh of indignity and anger “Excuse me i didn’t lose my apprentice!” Eda gave him a look of seriously “king shes going to be fine one, two i wont lose my apprentice as trust me that seed is going to have a fun surprise in store and also ill tell hooty to watch her” the idea of using the weird connection she got as owner of the house made her shiver so she used her connection with owlbert “OWLBERTTTTTTTTT can you go tell hooty to watch luz and make sure she doesnt get hurt?” owlbert hooted in the connection but then it cut off and he was spotted flying from his beach mat king then spoke up “i bet you i could be a better mentor!” Eda laughed uncontrollably “you??? A mentor?? It’s harder then it looks kid but know what ill take you up on that bet”

King said “ok then i bet you-” Eda cut him off “also i am obligated to remind you, you have lost all past bets and i only use these to humiliate you” she flips open a book called Eda’s one-sided wagers to king’s part showing how she’s won every bet king then looks at it and says “i like these odds.” Eda laughed again “ok then i bet you twenty snails pocket money if you win and if i win i get to call you mr wiggles and you need to help luz with making a potion” 

king nodded then said “ok but! If i win you also have to wear a hat that says i lost a bet with king and had to wear this hat” Eda snorts and extends an arm over to where king was standing “shake hands on it then” king shook hands “Oh also what or who am i mentoring?” Eda smirked “its gotta be something odd so like a trashworm some type of bird something weird like luz” King thought for a second before saying “so a cat demon?” Eda looked confused at him for a minute “what do you mean cat demon?” he looks at her wagging his tail “she smells like a cat demon and acts like it sometimes” now that eda thought about it actually luz did act like a cat… but why would she be turning into a cat demon?

MEANWHILE in luz’s universe

She moves through the bushes yep nothing here. Perfect, smirking she finds some branches and a Sharpweave vine using the lower end to cut the top with the razor sharp edge while carefully holding just below it lightly as it had four sharp points on this coral pink colored vines the blades were always on each side usually in or near the middle point they had rounded edges and were sunken everywhere but the blades this specific one was quite fresh making it quite tough

The vine snapped making a final crack as the last little tether failed in staying in one piece, now a useful tool for cutting and wrapping for things if its not moved while on whatever it is being used as a rope on and isn’t wrapped too tightly she looks around oooo there's some plants over there she can use for making a trap for some rabits those are yummy she starts going through and cutting them when she hears “come on! You. can. DO IT!” she tilts her head saying “mysterious voice of encouragement?” and climbs into a tree jumping to the next till she's able to see the mysterious voice of encouragement

A small witchlet with dark blue-green hair in a black hood over  the shirt and skirt with green sleeves and vine markings imprinted on the inner part of the uniform? It had a symbol with some odd markings under it that looked like common which was strangely close to english but she was too far away to read it the witchlet was drawing a green spell circle and suddenly her tree didn’t feel stable in fact it seemed to try shake her off when it finally stopped the witchlet was looking annoyed at the trees saying “oh my godddd i have enough magic for this why won’t it WORK!” suddenly her eyes were glowing green and plants erupted from the ground the trees grew a lot taller making luz fall off with a yelp

She caught a branch on her way down soft red leaves brushing her hair when cr-cr-crack crrrrrrr-ack cr-SNAP she yelped falling she faintly registered the witchlet had seen her begin to fall she braced to hit the ground by turning mid air to land on all fours unconsciously when she felt something pick her up by her midsection it was rough and dry she cautiously opened her eyes and looked at the witchlet which was staring at her in a weird way… “oh my god i’m so sorry- Here some fresh Frekvine that can help with any scrapes” 

she cast a spell circle and a plant handed her the clippings of a strong smelling plant it smelt like someone got mint, snow, peppermint and wintergreen trident gum mixed with hints of a forest, dirt and that weird smell of pine trees after rain… huh “uh… thanks?” the witchlet was staring at her ears in a weird way “…are you part human? Your ears are rounder then most witches…” luz covered her ears “i… am kinda not sure anymore its complicated” she looked back over at the witchlet she was shorter then her with a build for sports and damnnn her glasses had runic engraved in them that has to be- THATS ILLEGAL RUNIC IS WILD MAGIC  

Willow was kinda confused by this witchlet? Demon? Human? Thing??? Maybe it’s the convergent evolution thing? She had found hints of that in some of agustus's illegal books on the human world that the ones that came here changed species somehow? Luz decides to go with the best choice of action “my mother- mentor is Edalyn clawthorne the most powerful witch on the boiling isles and-” bump nearly chokes “WHAT?!” ok bad choice then maybe she should have said something else bump asks her shakily “what’s your name?” she thinks for a second literally she can’t say Noceda he’ll look for her parents and they’ve never even been here if I say I don’t have a last name he might put me in an orphanage so Luz clawthorne or Lucia for her full name “Lucia clawthorne?” he feints ok time to go, she turns around to run when she goes into the wrong door and ends up in a class with a bunch of students in purple with goopy markings on their sleeves

The teacher being held by a pink-purple thing with spikes on top of its head and some dust-glitter stuff in the goop as well as some other… remnants of things hes yelling at a student with black hair and freckles for ‘messing up his abomination’ then spots luz “ah are you a new student? Sit down. Please please.” luz swallows oh fuckkkk “yes sir” she sits down next to a green haired girl with golden yellow eyes “hi!..” she squints at luz “why are you talking to me? Stop.” … wow ok she's rude “hey what was that for?!” she rolled her eyes “I am a blight we only associate with the best” luz snorted “best or the worst because your in the worst category right now” she scowled with a small squeak of rage while her face went bright pink kinda cute honestly wait- no. bad luz bullies aren’t cute.

Amity cant be a bully then as shes adorable was her conclusion she showed her abomination with pride but was adorably happy when she got an A+ on that and a written test luz got premade abomination goop and was so confused but everyone else drew a spell circle so she had to try she closed her eyes took a breath and used her finger to draw a circle trying to imagine a abomination rising from the goop there was a sharp pain in her chest she coughed while able to see an abomination rise from the goop she starts blacking out she looks at her arm blood is coating it almost the entire side of her arm she spots the green hair girl amity! She definitely was not a bully she had gotten up and rushed over to her holding her while making a spell circle her teacher was there too and then it went dark

AMITY POV: 20 minutes later

Amity was internally screaming this new girl seemed nice but not of status so they couldn’t be friends she made a great abomination so now it’s a possibility but then she started coughing blood and fell to her knees all dizzy and unable to talk- bile overload definitely to avoid damage to her bile sack she quickly did a bile transfer she was fine she felt slightly more tired but there was no time for rest she practically screamed at Mr Hermonculus to get principle bump who walked in looking for her as she was not a student here and was not approved yet?! She had to admit the girl was cute but right now she was in danger then suddenly the owl lady showed up Bump mentioned calling a guardian approximately 4 minutes ago and she heard him call someone 2 minutes ago so… HOW IS SHE SO FAST she sees her storm pissed as fuck into the room where she was sitting next to luz she hissed illusion ears going down and back she felt her hidden tail swish behind her her fangs were still on display and her eyes have her slit pupils still (thankfully Odalia didn't make her hide that part of her cat ancestry) the owl lady looked at her she stiffened oh god why did i do that Odalia will kill me! The owl lady softened “it’s ok shes my kid kit. I wont hurt her or you, your safe” amity’s fur went back down although that couldn’t be seen and her ears went slightly back up making the illusion ones do the same

The owl lady- Eda as she calls herself sat down next to luz doing another bile transfer spell and a healing spell the girl started murmuring and turned on to her side Eda sighed then turned to bump the original anger returning “WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO MY KID?!” bump sheepishly said “she told me she was a clawthorne and i passed out apparently from Mr Hermonculus she did a wonderful abomination spell which overloaded her bile sack which appears to be underdeveloped. Mind explaining. Edalyn. ” not losing an ounce of annoyance and outrage the owl lady growled sparks were flying from herself and her palisman her eyes were glowing yellow “she. Is. not FROM HERE she. Was a human.”

Bumps eyes widening was an understatement “A HUMAN- THEN HOW DID SHE- oh god the evolution theory was real oh god” amity being thoroughly confused was an understatement “WHATS GOING ON?! IS SHE OK?! WHAT’S WRONG WITH HER?!” she didn’t know why but she was genuinely scared for her both bump and Eda the owl lady looked at eachother then back at her she was frustrated and confused when suddenly luz woke up and groggily said “wazz going on in hierrr” she did NOT sound ok amity got that urge to nuzzle into her and clean her till she felt ok like she used to feel with willow and sometimes with Skara, Emira, Edric, and Viney rarely with Boscha she knew it was a cat heritage thing but she couldn’t give into the impulse

Eda sighed internally this bratt was Odalia’s she’s obviously trying to repress those cat instincts from Odalia’s mother… but why? She knew why Odalia hated those instincts their ‘unbecoming of a blight’ god hopefully she wasn’t projecting on this kid- back on track Eda she looked over at bump with a glare “look bumpkins if my kid EVER is hurt anywhere NEAR your school again i'll rip you to shreds. I know you still see a immature child but i was always a powerful one. Especially defending who i care about. Wanna replay the incidents. I will gladly.” her threat hit him most definitely he half choked on his coffee and said “yes Edalyn this will not happen again”

amity’s thoughts were stopped by luz yawning and saying “nighttt im sleeeeeeepy” and curling into amity’s side oh god she is not equipped for this… she then hears some noise and casts a basic light spell mixed with illusions writing out ‘HEY ME AND OTHER GIRL ARE IN HERE’ and the owl lady principle bump and mr hermonculus rush in they breath a sigh of relief then the Eda picks up luz growls at principle bump and leaves the school using her palismin ‘Weirdest. Monday. Ever.’

Eda rushed home as fast as POSSIBLE as soon as she got there she was L I V I D with hooty she put the now fully awake and fine luz back inside with king she was using every curse word under the sun to describe the STUPID IDIOTIC BRAINLESS hooty he knew that she was serious usually but he messed up BADLY she was THIS close to using their connection to make him NEVER let luz out without telling her again when she heard a young voice, witch- ‘owlet’ very small ‘ not welcome’ through sense of smell she was familiar… in a way that rose alarm through Eda’s body she quickly turned around and growled because of the owl beast being a shit the small dark green-blue haired witchlet put up vines to protect itself while the owl beast in Eda’s mind screeched ‘DANGER! STRONG MAGIC! PLANTS!’ she knew the owl beast HATED terra snapdragon with a burning passion but this is a child

Willow nervously chuckled “hi!.. “Yeah sure kid you can apologize” she walks in with willow close behind with a half laugh she sees luz being oddly cat like and staring at a long piece of string with a weird look her pupils were bigger then usual and back to being completely round instead of pointed at the top and bottom… weird… “Luz! Someones here to see you” luz looks up her, tilting her head, her pupils turning to cat pupils like a diamond but the points are rounded out on the sides … ah that explains it willow walks in and nervously chuckles “sorry about the whole… school thing if you want you can come again if you get enrolled or a slip from a coven or principle bump” Eda shivered no. way. In. HELL

“I’ll think about it also thanks for the apology… what's you name?” Willow mentally face-palmed, she never told her name! did she “im willow nice to meet ya!” Luz smiled wildly “im Lucia Noceda! But just call me luz” willow smiled too “i think we're gonna be good friends, you and i! You should meet gus” luz smiled again “ya never know i might soon!” Willow Eda and King looked confused luz just smiled

Here the owlbeast is gray which is why edas hair grayed out not because of increased aging as the owl beast is an extinct creature trapped in a spell by the collector with many of her breathern most of her breathern has already been cursed too new witches once said witch dies after 350-400 years or in battle the owlbeast takes over if they die in battle then going on to usually restlessly murder things that attacj them and then try to live normally until they finally cant hold the form anymore and then their spirit is either sent back to the scroll or they pass on passing on is RARE and the first occurance was when a titan managed to help one escape then the others tried copying it, it takes a INSANE amount of power and only the strongest could escape sadly our owlbeast was the collectors favourite as they are rare in colouration and lets just say... they gave them issues so they instead practically archived them there but with so little power in it anyone could temporarily get them out but they cant leave permanently luckily their able to agree with their witch she still hates being trapped tho and DESPREATELY wants to prean herself she has no brown coloration and is actually silver when clean but hasnt been clean for eons she is based off an albino eagle hawk owl btw ill add an image

He died in refusal to drink camila's blood anymore they had a mutual agreement before as friends and he would take her blood to sustain his magic levels as they lived where the border between worlds was thinning and near titans blood for some reason they kept finding enough magic to sustain camila who could in turn sustain him but he hated it why? He saw her pain and she sometimes passed out after so after their wedding he refused and said hed use magic draining spells and drink blood of animals but after a while it was not enough and he got sick but he still refused her blood and then he died and now what you have all been waiting for

HOW DID CAMILA DIE?! Well yall know how but WHY why did she use her magic? She tried to use (you guessed it) NECROMANCY! But due to her lack of magic and inexperience she overused her bile but stupidly CONTINUED and well her bile sack got overloaded and 🎈🗯 sadly but anyways after her death she found luz's dad and they both are in the demon realms version of heaven

titans blessings the titans blessings could do a LOT like for instance some could give people shapeshifting so they can ur into basically mini titans with a bunch of abilities if the titan allows a direct connection they were usually tasked with defending their eggs but were massacred in boiling isles 1700-1800 by belos and his grimwalkers alsoooo their history is gonna get DARK i might make some people who request make little mini chapters ill make a server for this fic if so anyways lets continue

Titans blessings can do other things though like incressed strength, speed, nightvision, claws, sonic roars, ect ect tis basically infinite as titans if u hadnt figured it out yet are literal gods once their powers fully mature and yes king IS a titan not a titan blessed the titans are able to manipulate size at will and although his natural size will be the size of his dad give or take a 10-20 feet he will probs prefer smaller sizes anyways

Its complicated bloodlines btw (please remember witches live for 120 years usually and start having kids at around 30-40 in this they mature on the same time as humans but live longer and start getting visibly age wayyy later like for instance alador and odalia? Started having kids in their 50s they are OLD by now as here the twins arent the first born theres a miscarrige then 2 years before they tried again so 19 years added to that so abt 71(odalia) and 73(alador) rn but as age things work here they look more around 30-50 in human years make sense? So remember evelyn is from the deadwardian era (1700s) and edalyn is 34 in 2019 (she does look different in this she doesnt have signs of age just gray hair anyways theres 8-7 generations between them this isnt that important but times 8 and 50 to get 400 years 7 and 50 for 350 or 8 x 40 is 160 so they probably were having kids from late fortys to fifty's not the point but that should make things more understandable
