Chapter Text
I didn’t want to look up but when I couldn’t hear the screaming anymore, I looked up only to find father standing in a puddle of blood. His hands were covered in blood, mom’s blood. I wanted to scream but I knew that if I made some noise, he would find me.
I began to stand up slowly, but as I was getting close to the back door, I stepped too hard and that caused a hollow sound. I turned around and saw father looking straight at me. He began to head towards me, I only stood there, unable to move. He raised the bottle of beer he had on his hand, ready to hit my head with it. But before the bottle smashed with my head, I felt a cold splash on my face.
I instantly jolted up, blinking, not understanding what was happening at the moment. It took me a few seconds but I came back to my senses and I looked in front of me, glaring at the boy standing there.
“Good morning little Prince!” he said cheerfully, bluntly ignoring my glare. “Breakfast is about to start, you don’t wanna miss it!”
I groaned, lazily getting up from my spot on the floor. “I will be there in a few minutes, Sebastian,” I announced while stretching.
“You better not go back to sleep!” I heard him say as he got out of the cabin.
I got up, grabbed some clothes and began to change. After I finished, I grabbed the sheets and folded them to then place them next to the wall. I headed out and began to walk towards the dining pavilion. I immediately went to sit beside Sebastian on Cabin’s 11 table. Soon enough food appeared in front of me, more especially, 2 chocolate bars, an apple, mashed potatoes, a piece of bread, and a quince.
As always, I stood up and went towards the heart, I tossed the apple, quince, a chocolate bar, and half of my mashed potatoes into the fire. “Hades, Melinoe, Hypnos, and Thanatos…” I whispered each name as I tossed the food. I went back to my seat after I finished.
The rest of the day went as normal as it could be. But things changed during lunch, it was normal at first but I could feel someone staring at me. It was then that Chiron stood up from his place at the head table. “Severus, come to the Big House after you’re done eating. Some guests wish to speak with you.” He announced, and then began to head to the Big House.
The reaction was instant, everyone was whispering, making guesses as to who wanted to talk with me and about what. Everyone knew what the guests were but not exactly who, and that made me anxious. I quickly finished the rest of my food and started to walk towards the Big House. After arriving, I stood in front of the door, hesitating to knock, after a minute or two, I finally knocked.
As I opened the door, I heard 4 different voices, two of them were Chiron and Mr. D, but I didn’t recognize the other two. I closed the door and headed to the rec. Room, where I knew they were. When I got there, I saw a man and a woman, but the man seemed familiar to me.
The man was tall, probably around 6’2”, and had dark purple hair that reached his shoulders. He had small black wings coming out of his head, along with big black wings on his back. He was wearing a black chiton with some golden outlines. He also had a white cape that reached the ground.
The woman beside him was also tall, probably 6’, and had brown hair with some magenta highlights. She is wearing a magenta dress that reaches the floor and is open on the chest part. The woman was also wearing a black hooded cloak that also touched the floor.
“Take a seat Severus, this will take some time,” Chiron spoke as he pointed to the seat next to the man. “Lord Hypnos and Lady Hecate wish to speak with you.”
I was surprised when I heard who they were but I didn’t let it show on my face. I bowed respectfully to them before taking a seat. “What is it that you wish to speak with me Lady Hecate, Father?” I asked, feeling very curious.
“As you may already know, your mother, Elieen, was a witch,” Hecate started, her voice soft. “She went to a magic school in Scotland when she turned 11. And because you’re her son, it makes you a wizard.” The Goddess finished explaining.
I just nodded, having already known about it for my entire life. This time, it was father who spoke, “ This means that because you’re 11, you are also eligible to go to the same school Elieen went to. When every magical kid turns 11, the school sends letters by owl to them stating that they have been accepted into their school.”
“What’s the name of the school?” I asked, noticing that they avoided saying the name.
“Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry—” I covered my mouth and faked a cough, trying my best to not laugh. Hecate just sighted while father just smiled.
Hecate then snapped her fingers and a letter appeared in front of me. I grabbed it and stared at it, memorizing every detail of the letter. The front read;
S. Snape,
Cabin 11,
North Shore of Montauk,
Long Island,
New York,
I frown when I read the name Snape, their magic must be failing if it failed to name my actual last name. I just sighted before looking at them, silently asking if I could open it. They nodded.

I blinked. The letter was very, very vague. It didn’t say where the school was, where to get the supplies, nor how and where I could get an owl to send my reply back, after all, I doubt it can be sent by normal methods. I looked up from the letter and stared at father.
“I assume that because of the distance between here and Scotland, Lady Hecate will be the one to deliver my letter,” I spoke to which father only nodded. “I will start writing then…”
Father summoned a piece of parchment and a pen for me. It took me only a few minutes to finish my letter. I gave it to Hecate, who smiled at me in return, but she still stayed.
“Now, as I’m sure you noticed, the letter didn’t state where the school is or how and where to get your school supplies,” he said and I only nodded at his words. “So, I asked Lord Zeus if I could take you and accompany you to buy them. I also asked if I could, at least this time, bid you goodbye before you go to school.” This time I didn’t bother to hide my surprise.
“He agreed, but under the condition that I couldn’t accompany you next time.” Father grabbed my hands while looking at me with softness in his eyes. I smiled at him, happy that he would be there with me, on my first experience.
The sound of thunder brought me back to reality. I stood up when the two gods did too, I bowed again, but before I could say something, father hugged me. I froze, shocked at the sudden contact but I quickly returned the hug.
He broke the hug and ruffled my hair before saying, “I will see you tomorrow after breakfast my Little Prince, so be sure to pack whatever you will need.”
I nodded, then I looked at the goddess of magic, “I’m very grateful for your assistance in delivering my letter, Lady Magic,” I said softly, and bowed slightly.
Hecate nodded, looking rather pleased, then, with a snap of her fingers, a black messenger bag appeared. “This is a bottomless enchanted bag, you can put anything in there and it will never be full. It will be pretty helpful during your school year.” She explained.
I grabbed the bag and firmly held it in my hands, knowing very well that this gift was special. The two gods then disappeared, and I headed out into the porch of the Big House, where Chiron and Mr. D where.
Mr. D only looked at the bag before scoffing and going back to reading his wine magazine. While Chiron smiled at me as I left to go to cabin 11. I had no more activities for the rest of the day, so I could just rest.
I remade my space and went to sleep. It wasn’t until I felt something poking my cheek that I woke up. I groaned, turned the other way. Then I felt something, or someone, grabbing my right foot, and dragging me from out of my sheets.
I yelled in surprise, before instinctively kicking the person holding me with my other foot. A crashing sound and yelps of surprise were the only things I heard then. I sat and looked around the cabin, looking at the teenagers there with a blank face.
“Ouch!” The voice sounded oddly familiar. “Who would have guessed that the little Prince had such a strong kick…”
“Bastian?” I asked, looking at him. He was sitting against the wall, touching his right cheek.
He grinned cheekily before saying, “You were gonna miss dinner if I don’t try to wake you up.”
“Du bist ein idiot,” I said, standing up and heading to the dining pavilion. The others followed soon.
As always, I sat next to Sebastian. This time, BBQ with some mashed potatoes, grapes, carrots, and 3 chocolate bars appeared on my plate. I stood up and made my usual offering to the gods Hades, Melinoe, Hypnos, and Thanatos.
I spent all of dinner thinking about all the things that could happen tomorrow. I found myself feeling quite excited about spending time with father too. It was rare for our godly parents to spend time with their children, so I was indeed excited about it.
THE NEXT DAY
I was sitting on the stairs of the Big House, waiting for father to appear. I had already eaten breakfast, and told the rest of cabin 11 that I would be out for most of the day. Sebastian asked why, but I only said that I would tell him later if I was allowed to.
Just then, father appeared, but he looked very different. His wings were gone and so were the clothes he was in yesterday. He looked more normal, more human. He was still tall, with dark purple hair, and his eyes were pitch black, like mine.
He was wearing a black tailcoat, with what appears to be a black vest on top of a white long-sleeved shirt. He had beige pants with black knee leveled boots. I just blinked. He looked like he was going to one of those fancy parties that rich people held. I wanted to die but at the same time I wanted to die of embarrassment.
“Father, why are you dressed like that?”
“The wixen are quite behind on fashion, so clothes like this are normal to wear, especially if you want to fit in.” He explained. “Now, if you're ready, take my hand, we would be aparating to London.”
