Chapter Text
Councillor Bronte rested his face against his fist as he waited for Alden Vacker and his son to bring in the human girl. As if he didn't have much better things to be doing.
He let out an annoyed sigh and rolled his eyes as councilors Oralie and Kenric joked about something, blushing like teenagers.
If they didn't get here soon, he might have to murder Kenric.
Luckily for the red head, just as Bronte was reaching his breaking point the doors were opened and three people walked in.
"Councilors, this is Sophie Foster," Alden announced in his deep rich voice. He was followed by his son, whatever the boys name was, and a blonde girl.
He straightened up, his face resting in a scowl, and looked over the girl. He had been warned she had brown eyes, but he was still caught of guard by them. She wore baggy clothes, the kind you someone would wear to bed. Her blonde hair looked a little dirty and was positioned slightly in front of her face. Her stance was guarded and she kept her arms crossed. She appeared to be around...fourteen?
But it was her eyes that kept his attention. He realized it wasn't the color that bothered him like he originally thought. It was the lack of light. Her eyes alone made her appear far older then she was. They were so dull....and yet so attentive to every movement around her.
It was a look he had only seen few times. One that left him with an unsettling feeling.
Oralie spoke up, her voice soft and inviting." Its a pleasure to meet you Sophie."
