Chapter Text

It was eerily silent on the walk back to his apartment from the party. The heightened noise of party goers now a whisper in the wind as the man warmed his hands in brutal cold winds of fall. He couldn't quite place it, but it felt like someone was watching him. It was possible he could just be having drunk delusions, he did drink a lot at the party, but the feeling wasn't going away even as he tried to ease himself.

He stayed under the protection of streetlights and checked his surroundings every other minute as the feeling of being followed continued. It got overwhelming to the point where he stood there and called out, “Hey, is anyone there? Skinner? Robin? I swear if you guys are trying to prank me I'm going to kill you!” There was no response from any of his friends, but he did notice a woman sitting on her porch giving him a weird look before going inside.

He sighed and continued moving reaching the end of his street. He was seriously losing it and in this moment he wished he had stuck to his original plan not to drink so at the least he could have driven himself home by now and avoided the fright he was giving himself. “Stupid,” he said to himself. It was at that moment he heard a clear noise behind him.

Instead of stopping to investigate, he tried to make a beeline for his complex door. He was almost at the entrance when he felt himself being whisked off his feet and into the dark alley near his building. His mouth was covered as he attempted to scream for help before piercing red eyes met his and glowed darkly. “Stay still, don't move. Keep quiet for me,” the man, no, the creature, whispered to him.

He found himself unable to move and when his mouth was finally released he found he couldn't even scream. He tried hard, his mouth opening but no sound coming out. Was he drugged? Was it paralyzed fear? He didn't know what it was, but he couldn't even fight back when the creature sank his fangs into his wrist. “Hmmmm, your blood is so good. Such a shame we need more recruits, you would have made a nice meal.” The man's eyes widened even further at the comment and the pain in his arm. Yet could still do nothing as the creature tore open his own wrist and forced him to drink from it.

He tried to spit it out with no luck as a hand was clamped back over his mouth. He forced it down and nearly choked at the vile taste. He had hoped that it would have been the worst of it and he could have been left alone, but instead a huge searing burning pain went through him and the creature grinned as he silently screamed in agony.

As he began to pass out in the alley, he had one final thought in his head. Next time he drank he was never going to walk home again. He looked one last time at the monster before slipping into darkness.

One month later…
Phukan tapped his pen softly against the table in front of him in complete boredom. He was sitting in on yet another coven meeting about the Youngblood clan. The fighting between the two covens has reached an all time high, with the Youngbloods working to turn as many humans as they needed into vampires to go to war with them. It was a plan set in place hundreds of years ago by a pureblood named Alistair, who was mad he was passed over as leader of the Bloodhaven coven and instead Phukan' father, Magnus, was chosen.

The Youngbloods were causing a huge problem by invading the human world in this manner and it was the reason the coven had been donned the moniker in the first place. They were always seeking out young people to recruit and went to major lengths to get it as it is believed they are more agile and more likely to birth powers than if they turned anyone older. Phukan believed that these new vampires shouldn't be blamed for having been forcibly turned to serve Alistair's vendetta against his father, but even then members of the Bloodhaven coven have been killed by these new creations. Trying to make a peaceful resolution in the war is no longer an option, so much so that now they prefer not to mix with anyone from that clan.

“Phukan!” His father's booming deep voice echoed in the room as Phukan jumped out of his train of thought and focused on the man in front of him, dropping the pen down on the table. “Yes dad?” he asked. “Are you paying attention right now? This is important information you should be learning so you can put it to use later. We need to take out as many of these new vamps as we can before it gets us exposed.”

Phukan rolled his eyes. “This has been the same plan we have had for two hundred years and they're just going to make more and more. I can't imagine there is much we can do without taking them out at the source.” His father glared at him. “I was expecting more from you Phu, you're going to be taking over for me once I retire and I need you to know the ins and outs of what's going on, what defensive measures we'll have to take and what attacks we need to set in motion. You won't be able to get away with this behavior for long.”

Phukan rolled his eyes again. “Fine, I promise to pay a little bit more attention in these meetings. I'll change my ways a bit, but don't go hoping for a miracle.” Magnus could only shake his head at his son as he turned back the focus on what they could do to defend their coven further. Phukan zoned back out and thought about what he could wear to Nightshade tonight. It was Friday and he needed another body to keep him warm just as much as a druggie needed a fix to keep him happy.

He never really wanted to settle down and commit to a relationship. He was a lot happier being on his own without the need to worry about any partners or how they may be feeling. He already is so busy and being demanded of by his father, he couldn't imagine putting more time towards anyone else. But he did need sex. It was the best stress reliever there was out there. Nevermind that it also seemed to enhance his own strength and abilities a little when he did it. Not by much, but there was always a light surge of power he felt in his body as he came every time. That surge was what he was seeking every time he laid with a new body, but it was never enough.

Phukan, like his father, had gray eyes. This means he was one of the few most powerful vamps there is in all of the covens. On a normal day, they appeared grayish blue, but when he used his powers or fed from anyone, they went fully gray. He could command without saying a word, could manipulate anything he wanted, and could travel in the blink of an eye. His physical strength and agility was also very strong, but he still needed continuous practice to ensure his success in combat when it was needed.

When Magnus announced the meeting was over, Phukan ran from the room feeling his father's stare at his back. He knew he was going to be scolded later, but for now he wanted to go enjoy his night. He put on his daylight ring in case he got too wild and ended up exposed to the sun, and then went to pick out his outfit. He opted for a white, chic, two piece suit and instead of a dress shirt, he decided to put on his fishnet tee to go with it. It left his chest mostly exposed, but it was sexy, nonetheless. He added a cross earring to the fit in his right ear, which accentuated his dark, undercut hair. He added some pink eye shadow and rose tinted lipstick to bring out his eyes more and when he was finished checked himself out in the mirror.

“I got to say Phukan, you've really outdone yourself this time,” he said, turning and admiring how well he looked. He grabbed his cellphone and shot off a quick text to his friends Jin and Tee, letting them know he was on his way to them. He checked himself one more time in the mirror before heading out into the night.

When he arrived at Nightshade, the first thing he did was head into the V.I.P area where his friends were waiting. Jin sent him a quick wave, already having an arm wrapped around a pretty blonde in a blue mini dress that was sitting in his lap. He wasted no time, I see, Phukan thought to himself. Tee was off to the side drinking a bloody Mary, watching the crowd for her own victim. The great thing about his friends is that they all shared the same belief that commitment was not in their life plans. It made it easier having people around you who understood you and would encourage your way of life.

He sat down next to Tee and watched as Jin and the blonde began making out in front of them. He turned to give them their privacy and also watched the people in the club below them. “There's no one good tonight,” Tee complained. Phukan chuckled. “With expectations as high as yours, I can't say that I'm surprised. You should just pick a random one and go for it,” he advised. Jin broke away from his kiss and smirked, “That's what I did. Phukan should you really be giving advice here? I mean you're picky in your own way. You only sleep with other purebloods you find here. I have never seen you go for a turned vampire, male or female.”

Phukan shrugged. “It's too problematic and risky. With the Youngbloods causing such a stir, I can't really trust that the turned vampire I go for isn't working for Alistair in some manner. Conflict of interest, if you will.” He was going to turn back around and continue conversing with his friends, when he noticed a figure stalking slowly towards the bar. He was tall, muscular, and handsome with long, wavy black hair, and a brooding face that made him even more attractive to Phukan. He watched as the man stopped to speak with the bartender and smiled as he was given a box. Hmmm, I wonder what that is? he thought to himself. He was going to find out.

“Guys, I'll be right back,” he said to his friends as he went back down the stairs of the VIP section and made his way through the crowd towards the bar. He sat down next to his target and kept his eyes forward as he asked for another drink. He sat listening to see if he could pick up any information on this man and why he was given the box.

“Thank you again Marvin for the help. You're a lifesaver,” the man stated. Marvin, the bartender, shook his head. “I don't understand you. I think you're the only vampire I've come across who doesn't like to hunt for his meal. Normally newly turned are feral with bloodlust, but you seem to keep your head quite nicely.” Phukan raised an eyebrow and frowned. He's newly turned. He didn't know what he thought about that. On one hand the man was insanely attractive, but on the other he could be one of Alistair's and he shouldn't risk it.

At that moment, however, another thought came to mind and before he could stop himself he intruded on the conversation. “You don't like to hunt?” He asked the man. Both Marvin and the man turned to look at him. “No, I don't. I used to be human and I know how I felt at that moment. I would never put that on anyone else. It's bad enough I can't see my family or friends except when I go out at night. It's isolating.” Phukan felt a bit bad for the man, but also surprisingly eased by his honesty. Maybe he's not one of Alistairs if he doesn't like to hunt. Alistair makes all of his people hunt for their food.

He held out his hand, “I'm Phukan. And your name is?” The man gripped his hand tight and shook it. “I'm Cirrus.” Phukan nodded towards the box. “Well Cirrus, I'm curious. What's in the box?” Cirrus paused at his directness and looked at him in confusion. “Why do you want to know?” Phukan shrugged, “Cause I'm a curious person. Enlighten me.” Cirrus sighed and opened the box. He saw a few bags of blood in IV bags. “I ask Marv once a week for a few bags of donated blood from the blood bank. It's not as great as getting it directly from the source I hear, but it's been holding me over since I turned.”

Phukan became even more intrigued. He was sure now. This was who he wanted. He reached out and held Cirrus' hand on the counter. He took note of the fact that he didn’t remove it, but instead something flickered in his eyes. It could have been curiosity, could be lust, there was only one way for Phukan to figure out what it was.

“Come dance with me,” he suddenly said, pulling at Cirrus' wrist. “What about the blo-” “Just leave it with Marv here. I'm sure he won't mind holding it for a bit,” Phukan interrupted. He grabbed the box from Cirrus and handed it off to the bartender before pulling him out onto the dance floor.

He wasn't sure if Cirrus was into men or not, but he sure hoped so. This dance was meant to be a test to gauge his reactions and see if it were okay for him to advance. Phukan closed his eyes and twirled his hips to the rhythm of the music. It pulsed through his body as he gave a seductive glance at Cirrus and ran a hand through his own hair, biting his lip. He saw the man get a dark tint to his eyes, lust filling them and he smiled and turned away, his plan working. He swayed his hips to the music some more with his eyes closed as he felt a strong hand grip tightly on his hip and a warm breath near his ear.

“Are you trying to seduce me, or are you just a tease?” A shiver went through Phukan’s body at those words as he backed himself up against Cirrus's crotch and ran a hand up his thigh. “I don't know, you tell me,” he said as he inched his hand closer to his bulge. Cirrus stopped his hands and roughly turned him back around to face him. He leaned down and whispered again, “Definitely a tease.”

He backed them up until they were in a dark corner of the club, Phukan's back against the wall. He kissed down Phu's ear to his neck as Phu closed his eyes and let himself give in to the pleasure he was feeling. Cirrus got to his lips and sucked them into his mouth, tongues colliding together as they fought for dominance in the kiss. Cirrus sunk his fangs into Phukan’s lip and drew blood. Phukan let out a hiss and a moan as an electric shock went through his body. Cirrus licked at the blood coming from his lip, his eyes glowing red before he took a step back and released Phukan.

Oh no, we can't have any of that, Phukan thought. Maybe Cirrus was afraid of losing himself with so many people around, but Phukan had a solution if it meant Cirrus picked up the pace. “Come with me,” Phukan said, grabbing Cirrus' hand and dragging him from the dance floor. He went towards the VIP area and past his friends who threw him a wink knowingly. He was never the type to bring his one night stands home with him, so he usually had rooms reserved for the night in case he was able to find someone to satisfy him. Tonight was no different.

He unlocked his room and they entered together with Phukan locking the door back behind them. “So you're ri-” the question Cirrus was about to ask was cut short by Phukan suddenly pushing him against the door and kissing him deeply. He'd rather not go through another round of pleasantries when this delicious looking man was standing right in front of him ready to be eaten.

He stuck his tongue into Cirrus' mouth, licking around the inside while sucking Cirrus' tongue back into his. He pulled away from the kiss and went to suck on Cirrus' neck, his hand moving down to grip his waist. “Aah,’ he heard Cirrus grunt before he reached down and gripped Phukan through his pants, feeling the way Phukan was hardening at the contact, continuing to palm him as he moaned against his neck. Cirrus quickly flipped Phukan around and pressed him face first to the door. He grinded against him, pressing him harder and harder into the door as he sucked roughly on his neck. “Naughty boy, I should punish you for being such a tease.”

Cirrus removed Phukan’s suit jacket and pulled his pants and underwear down before getting onto his knees. “Stay still, just like this for me.” Phukan panted in anticipation and gasped as Cirrus spread his cheeks and licked up his rim. “Oh, ugh,” he moaned louder as Cirrus stuck his tongue deep into him and licked his insides. He had nothing he could hold onto as he was pressed harder against the door the deeper Cirrus ate him out. His cock was leaking all over the door as he tried pushing back onto Cirrus' face. His ass was squeezed roughly in warning for the movement.

Cirrus grinned and looked up at him, “Guess someone can't stay still,” he chuckled. He got up from the floor and pulled Phukan up with him to kiss him again. Phukan decided that now was the time to take the control back away from Cirrus. He broke away from the kiss and guided Cirrus to the bed and pushed him onto it. He pulled off the remainder of his clothes before walking over to the nightstand and removing the lube and condom from it. He turned back and faced Cirrus, seeing his red eyes slowly returning as he stared back at him in complete lust.

“Take off your clothes,” Phukan demanded. Cirrus didn't move at all, instead he smirked and said, “You do it for me.” Phukan smiled and made a fake sigh of disappointment. Two can play at that game. “That's okay, you can just watch me have fun by myself then.” Cirrus raised an eyebrow in question. Phukan winked back before adding lube to his hand and using it to stroke his own cock. Though Phu only meant to tease, he found it exhilarating how Cirrus was watching him, eyes burning red in desire at the show. He had to take a pause to prevent himself from cumming at the sight. Cirrus' eyes traveled up and down his body and Phukan closed his eyes and moaned. He heard movement and opened his eyes to Cirrus removing his clothes.

He smirked as he got closer to the bed. “Good boy, now take your reward.” Cirrus sat on the edge of the bed and took Phu's cock into his mouth. Phu gripped the back of Cirrus' head and started to slowly thrust into his eager mouth, groaning and pulling his hair as he sucked him deep into his mouth. Cirrus grabbed his ass and squeezed as Phu pumped faster into his mouth hitting his throat. “Yes, that's it. Such a good boy for me, huh?”

Cirrus moaned around his cock and the vibrations sent a thrill through Phukan’ spine. He was getting so close. He stroked the back of Cirrus' head as his thrusts got faster and his moans got louder. “Take your reward baby, swallow it all,” he said as he released inside of Cirrus' throat, holding his head tightly against him until the last drop was swallowed. He pushed Cirrus back onto the bed and grabbed the condom and lube. He didn't really notice at first how big Cirrus really was until he came face to face with it at this moment. He was monstrous, but at this point there was no turning back. He licked up and down Cirrus' shaft until he was nice and wet, Cirrus letting out small, soft groans with every glide of his tongue. He slipped on the condom before lubing up Cirrus' rubber covered cock.

“Turn around,” Cirrus said. Phu turned, while Cirrus sat up and applied lube to his fingers. One by one he inserted them into his ass and Phukan gasped at the intrusion. His fingers were so long and big, and he clearly knew how to use them. He pushed back onto Cirrus' hand and flinched as his fingers brushed against his prostate. Phukan felt himself getting hard again, but before he could work himself towards another orgasm, Cirrus pulled out his fingers and quickly sat Phukan onto his cock in one smooth motion. “Aagh,” Phukan screamed out. He clawed into Cirrus' back and held him tightly as he adjusted to the size.

When the burn subsided, Phukan began to ride Cirrus, slowly at first, but then picking up speed as Cirrus pressed him down harder onto his cock. The turned vampire's eyes were glowing so red as he fucked up into Phukan harder and harder. “Yes, baby,” Cirrus whimpered as Phukan clenched his walls around his cock. Phukan grinned and whispered in his ear, “You like that don't you? You like me squeezing you so tightly hmm? Oh God baby, you're so big.” It was then he felt it. There was a surge going through him, but it was something like he had never experienced before. He couldn't quite place why he was feeling so strongly, but then Cirrus did something even more unimaginable.

He fucked into Phukan harder and sunk his fangs into his neck. Phukan froze as Cirrus drank from him. Electricity flowed through him with each gulp Cirrus took and he didn't want to stop it. Instead he clung to the man and rode him harder and faster, screaming out in pleasure and pain as he felt the blood drip down his neck. Cirrus was drinking so much of him. He showed no signs of stopping. Phu, beginning to feel weak, sunk his own fangs into Cirrus, drinking from him as well to gain back his lost energy.

A shock went through them both when he did this. It was as if their bodies were becoming one with each other and it went straight to their cocks. Cirrus was whimpering and shaking as Phukan grinned, breathing hard as he released his hold. He felt his orgasm approaching before he was harshly flipped onto his hands and knees. Cirrus roughly pumped into him a few more times, sinking his teeth back into his throat as Phukan came at the intensity. Cirrus followed shortly after and they both collapsed onto the bed, out of breath.

Normally at this point of the night, Phukan would get dressed and leave his conquest for the comfort of his own home, but Cirrus cuddled him close before he could move and drank from his neck some more. Phukan closed his eyes and relaxed into his hold, getting tired and overwhelmed by the strangely intense feelings. Cirrus gave one final lick and buried his nose into his neck. “Thank you,” he heard the man whisper as he drifted off to sleep.

Chapter Text

Cirrus woke up to the sound of his phone going off and the feeling of pins and needles in his arm as he attempted to move to sit up. He looked down at the man buried into his side and he smiled at how cute he looked sleeping. Last night was amazing. He usually was the one to take charge in the bedroom, but for some reason he felt compelled to obey Phukan.

The man knew how to seduce that was for sure. He was also struggling to understand what came over him when he decided to sink his fangs into Phu’s neck and lips. Maybe it was the fact that he had gone a few days without feeding, or maybe it was him being lost to the feelings of the act, but it had never been his intention to draw blood like that. He has never done that with any of his previous partners since turning and didn’t know why he started now, but Phukan’s blood set off something inside of him and he couldn’t resist.

Even better was that Phu didn’t protest it either. He encouraged it and even drank from him as well. It made what they did feel so much more intimate than what it was meant to be. He was sure Phu only wanted a one night stand and he was willing to give that at the time, but now he wasn’t sure.

He leaned down and kissed Phukan’ forehead, caressing his hair. His words echoing back at him.

“Such a good boy for me, huh?”

The husky tone Phukan had when he said it, just remembering it caused Cirrus' cock to stir.

“Now is not the time for this,” he said to himself, his phone going off again bringing him back into focus on why he needed to get up.

He gently rolled Phukan off of his arm and onto his side facing away from him. When he was sure Phu didn’t wake up from the movement, he reached down onto the floor and grabbed his phone out of his left pants pocket.

He saw that it was 3 am and that there were currently 20 texts and five missed phone calls from Wim, all of them to warn him that there was a last minute meeting with The Youngbloods he really needed to be present for. He didn't really like the group because they seemed to be more feral vamps who couldn't control themselves or their emotions, so he knows they wreak a lot of havoc in the human world at night, but he also knew going against them wasn't a good idea when Alistair was the only reason Cirrus was able to get the blood supply that he got. He would die without it since he would never hunt or hurt another human being. Plus Alistair promised he was working to control the new Youngbloods and it was harder to do since they had to recruit at a fast rate.

He scrolled through the missed texts, one of which caught his eye. It was a plan of attack chart Alistair had put together of their targets and when they needed to be taken down. Towards the very bottom, there was a photo and a name.

Phukan, son of Magnus of the Bloodhaven clan. Appears to be a strong vampire, has gray eyes, but powers and true strength unknown. Seems disinterested in following his father's footsteps, so could be used as a means to an end.

Cirrus looked at the attached photo and the man sleeping right next to him a few times. The realization dawned on him of what it meant that they were one and the same.

He had slept with the enemy. He had slept with a ill intentioned vampire from a clan whose only aim was to harm the human world. How could he have been so stupid to have fallen for his tricks? He couldn't understand how someone who was so bad could make him feel so, so good.

He surprisingly still felt drawn to him when he shouldn't even be acknowledging his existence right now.

He might not be that bad. He doesn't want to follow in his father’s footsteps, the file said, so maybe there is some good in him,” he tried to convince himself.

He knew it was useless. He couldn't be with the enemy and he definitely needs to get back home to discuss matters with Alistair.

He got up and pulled on his jeans and his button up shirt. He debated buttoning it up but opted against it, grabbing his shoes and quietly slipping out of the room to remain unnoticed. He just hoped he wouldn't come across the man again and everything should be okay. He wouldn’t be seen as a traitor for a minor mistake.

He went down the hall and back to the bar, hoping Marvin was still there so he could grab the blood bags from him. It wasn't yet daylight so he was hoping he would remain unscathed on his return home with them. He couldn't afford to go any more time without blood.

Thankfully Marv was restocking the bar when he approached. He eyed him up and down before chuckling to himself.

“What?” Cirrus asked him.

“Oh it's nothing. Just not used to seeing you do the walk of shame before. Not usually your style.”

Cirrus sighed and looked away. “I just need to get the blood bags so I can get back to Alistair. I just didn't want to wake Phukan, that's all it is.”

Marvin frowned as he handed over the blood to Cirrus. “Phukan is still here? Sleeping?”

Cirrus was confused on why Marvin appeared disturbed.

“Well yeah, we fell asleep. He was still asleep when I left the room. Anyways, I have to go. See you next week.”

He was confused as to why Marvin looked uneasy but just waved as he walked out of the club. He didn’t have time to speculate the odd reaction as he had a meeting to get to.

He was so focused on getting to where he needed to be that he didn't hear Marvin utter the word, “Interesting,” under his breath.

Cirrus sped back to the compound where he has lived ever since turning. It was unsafe to go back to his condo where his old friends or family could turn up and possibly be hurt by him. Nevermind the huge windows that would have allowed in too much sunlight. Alistair and a few of his closest guards had daylight rings but the rest of the clan did not. Seemed most of them were reserved for purebloods only and were kept under lock and key with the Bloodhaven coven.

When Cirrus arrived he was met instantly at the door by Wim. The vampire had slicked back black hair with streaks of red in it and was wearing ripped black jeans with a white tee and ripped jacket. He was frowning as he watched Cirrus come into the foyer.

“Where were you? You missed the meeting. Alistair will want to talk to you soon. And why did it take you so long to get the blood supply?”

Just like Cirrus, Wim did not like to hunt. There was an incident prior to Cirrus joining the Youngbloods in which he had gone feral from days without blood and caved to the pressures, killing a young woman on the side of the road. He still hasn't recovered from the trauma so now Cirrus makes sure to watch over him and make sure he has enough blood at all times. Him being late probably didn't ease his nerves as it normally means something went wrong.

Cirrus sighed, he should probably tell a partial truth. He could mention the one night stand but just lie that it was with a random stranger. For all Cirrus knew, prior to the text, Phukan was a random stranger. He began walking to his room as Wim followed.

“I met someone. I ended up sleeping with them and fell asleep. Sorry for coming back so late.”

Wim froze and jerked Cirrus to a complete stop. “What do you mean you slept with someone. What does that mean? Who was it?”

Cirrus shrugged as he walked the final steps to his room and turned back towards his friend.

“It was a stranger. I don't know who they are. They just seemed cute so I went for it.”

“You are not the type to do one night stands. So tell me, where were you really?”

“I already told you. Not my fault you don't believe me.”

Wim looked at him weird then looked down at the box of blood bags.

“There's something different about you,” he said, peering up at Cirrus.

“What do you mean?” Cirrus asked.

“You look more lively than you were when you left. You were paler than me from the lack of blood yet you're almost rosy now. None of the bags of blood seemed to have been opened though.”

Suddenly it was like a light bulb went off in his head and his playfulness turned to horror. “Did you hunt?”

That question made Cirrus freeze. How could his friend possibly think he would do something horrible like that?

“No, I didn't. I told you where I was. I had a one night stand and fell asleep.”

Wim shook his head. “You don't do one night stands and there's no way you would look this way without drinking human blood.”

“I swear to you, I didn't hunt at all.”

Wim pulled a blood bag from the box. “Prove it then. Drink the blood.”

“I'm not hungry,” Cirrus immediately said. Then he froze in thought. Wait, why isn't he thirsty? He should be. It's been days since he last had human blood.

He thought back to Phukan and how he freely let Cirrus drink from him. Maybe he was full from that. But Cirrus was sure vamps couldn't feed from other vampires. It needed to be human blood for them to feel satiated. Maybe Cirrus is just so confused from the night's events that he isn't recognizing his own hunger.

Wim put the bag to his face. “Drink it or admit you hunted.”

Cirrus shook his head in exasperation. “Fine, I'll drink it.”

He grabbed the bag of blood from his friend and opened the spout. He tipped the bag and took a huge swig of blood into his mouth. As he went to swallow, something went wrong. The taste was vile. It was gross and Cirrus couldn't even choke it down. Instead he threw it up on the floor.

“Yuck! I think Marvin gave us a bad batch this time. This is gross.”

Wim looked at him with concern.

“Let me see, I hope not. I really need the blood. Can't afford to go any more time without it.”

Wim took the bag away from Cirrus and took a hesitant sip. The hesitation turned to elation as he proceeded to gulp half the bag down. After wiping his mouth he looked up at Cirrus in confusion.

“This tastes like every other bag of blood we've had before. Are you feeling okay?” He asked, his eyes then widening.

“This confirms it, you did go hunting last night. Did you hurt someone?”

He paused and then asked quietly, “Did you kill someone?”

Cirrus pulled Wim into his room and closed the door.

“If I tell you something, you have to promise it'll never leave this room.”

Wim nodded. “I promise I won't say a word. You already know this though or else you wouldn't be telling me.”

Cirrus nodded. He did know. It's only been a little bit over a month since he's known Wim but he's been loyal from the start and kind. He wouldn't expose anything people didn't want him to and he didn't really talk to anyone else outside of Cirrus so probably wouldn't have anyone to tell even if he did decide to gossip.

Cirrus brought his voice down to a whisper. “I didn't hunt anyone. I swear. I went to Nightshade for the blood , like usual, and I was approached by someone.”

Wim leaned closer to hear better. “Who were you approached by?”

Something in the back of Cirrus' mind told him he shouldn't say who, even if he did trust Wim. He didn't know why but he was getting the feeling he should be protecting Phukan, and Cirrus couldn't understand it. Why should he have to protect the enemy?

“It was some girl, I forgot her name. But she asked me to dance with her and then things escalated to sex. I went to sleep, but she seemed to have disappeared before I woke up.”

A little white lie wouldn't hurt right? He then got to the one part of the story he wanted to be honest about as it could be the reason for his sudden distaste for human blood.

“I did bite her during sex. I drank some of her blood. So I'm thinking that may be why I can't drink normal blood now.”

Cirrus waited to see his friend’s reaction and at first he stood still staring before suddenly breaking out into loud laughter.

“Oh, so that’s how you got sucked into a one night stand. Probably thought you found a girlfriend and she wasn’t interested in that. Sorry I didn’t believe you.”

Though Cirrus didn’t show it, his heart did sink a little at the thought that Phukan only saw things as a one time thing for them. It didn’t help that he also felt guilty for ditching him and probably leaving him with that impression.

“So, you should be okay with the blood thing. I think you just have to wait for it to leave your system and you’ll be back to drinking normal blood in no time.”

Cirrus nodded at his words. Maybe he was right. He could give it a day and allow things to go back to normal. He wouldn’t be seeing Phukan again so there shouldn’t be any more blood drinking issues on his end. He smiled and gave Wim a clap on his shoulder.

“So, what did I miss from the meeting and how worried should I be in going to see Alistair?” he asked.

“So he updated us that some of the new Youngbloods we recruited were killed while out hunting. Considering there weren’t any stakes involved, we could only assume they were being killed by Bloodhaven vamps. Alistair is trying to devise a new way to attack them in turn and he figured the easiest way to do this is by targeting Phukan. His gray eyes are a little troublesome because it does suggest he’s one of the strongest of the Purebloods, but he also doesn’t seem to put much effort towards maintaining his family’s image and there isn’t much record of him having any powers so we don’t know what to expect. We do know he goes to Nightshade every Friday night just for sex. He doesn’t really have a preference on who he goes for from what was observed by spies.”

Cirrus' guilt over leaving Phukan behind disappeared. Instead he was a little upset now. So he does this a lot, he thought to himself.

“He sleeps around a lot?” Cirrus tried to ask casually.

He was hoping it came off as curiosity and not interest. Thankfully Wim didn’t notice.

“Yeah he does. Usually has sex then leaves immediately when they’re done. Apparently isn’t the cuddling type, doesn’t care for it all too much. He makes it clear it’s a one and done occurrence.”

Cirrus perked up a bit with this new information. So what does it say about how Phukan views Cirrus if he was willing to cuddle with him and sleep after sex?

His guilt returned a bit. He might have really ruined things. He gave himself an internal facepalm.

I should not be thinking about him, he is the enemy, he thought.

“You should probably go speak with Alistair now. He wanted to talk to you but you weren’t here.”

Cirrus nodded and opened the door to his room to head out. “Wish me luck.”

Wim saluted in response.
⚰⚰⚰
When he got to Alistair’s office, he hesitantly knocked on the door. He didn’t really know what to expect, whether the man would be angry at him for missing the meeting, or if he just needed his help again on an important matter. He wished Wim was given that info so he had time to prepare himself for this conversation.

He took a deep breath and walked into the office. Alistair was sitting at his large mahogany desk surrounded by books. His office could be seen as a public library with how the surrounding walls were all bookshelves filled with novels, encyclopedias, and historicals. He loved reading and learning new things, and dedicated his time to researching heavily for solutions to take down the Bloodhaven group to no avail.

Alistair looked up from the large book he was reading and took off his spectacles. He ran a hand down his long, silver hair and motioned for Cirrus to sit in the chair in front of him. Once he sat down, Alistair began to speak.

“I see you missed out on our meeting today. I know you went out to get blood, but it normally doesn’t take you that long to get back. Everything go okay?”

Cirrus nodded. “Yeah, I got momentarily distracted. I won’t let it happen again.”

Alistair looked at him a bit before standing.

“You know, you’re one of my more trustworthy adversaries right? You’re the only one of my new recruits who seems to be able to keep a level head, and I need it to stay that way. I can’t have you going off the rails either. Remember, every member is important to our success.”

“Yes sir, I’m sorry. I’ll do better next time.”

Alistair looked at Cirrus and nodded, seeming to accept his response. He was honestly grateful Alistair didn’t ask him to elaborate on why he got back so late. He didn’t think he’d be able to lie to him about Phukan, even if he wanted to.

“As for why I wanted to see you in specific, I have a task I need to assign to you and I’m hoping you could help me complete it. Would you be able to take some time out of your schedule to help?”

“What is it?” he asked. Hopefully it was something he could get done quickly.

“I made a plan of attack today against the Bloodhaven coven. I’m not sure if anyone has caught you up to speed yet, but our target right now is Phukan. I plan on putting Nalin on him Friday night when he goes back to Nightshade. She’s a pureblood which is his type and she’s a charmer. He’ll go for her for sure. What I need you to do is watch over her for the night and make sure if she gets into any trouble you pull her out of there. Can’t have any more of my people getting hurt or killed.”

Cirrus felt his heart sink to his stomach. He was going to have to watch Phukan flirt with and sleep with someone else right in front of him, and he was in charge of protecting the person he would sleep with. He wasn’t one bit happy with this plan, but of course he put on a fake smile and nodded.

“I can do the job. I will keep you updated if anything goes wrong.” He got up to leave, pushing in his chair.

“Thank you Cirrus. Knew I could count on you to help. Oh and one more thing-” Cirrus stopped heading for the door and turning to look back at Alistair.

“We need an entry to Phukan no matter what. He’s the key to solving our current problem. If Nalin fails, you’ll need to step in and get on his good side.”

Cirrus nodded. “Consider it done,” he said as he left, closing the door behind him.

Notes:

This is where we start to see Cirrus' dilemma that will affect his relationship (or possible one) with Phu. Next chapter will go into how Phu felt about the one night stand and maybe we'll see a little toxicity come into play. Enjoy!

Chapter Text

Phukan was upset. Actually he was more than upset, he was furious. A little bit towards Cirrus for ditching him when he was vulnerable, but mostly at himself for letting things get that far. He was still thinking back to the moment he saw Cirrus leave the room.

He had woken up when Cirrus had moved him off of him, but he was so comfortable and still a bit tired so he didn’t immediately move to greet him. He instead sat there thinking about the experience they shared together and how he wanted more. He was going to ask for his number and see if maybe he wanted to spend more time with him and get to know each other, but instead he heard him put on his clothes and watched as he left the room.

He had felt something in his heart break at that moment and he tried his best to shake himself out of the feeling. Even more embarrassing was when he himself had left the room, Marvin was at the bar giving him pitiful looks. It was humiliating being seen like that.

He shouldn’t have let himself fall back into Cirrus' arms. He should have left immediately after the session ended like his original plan was. Plenty of others have tried to convince him to stay in bed afterwards, but he never had until Cirrus. He still couldn’t even tell himself why he had stayed.

It’s been a few days and he still wasn’t over it. He was currently out at the mall with his friends discussing the situation. Perks of having a daylight ring was that they could blend in with the humans and live almost normal lives if they wanted to. It also helped that being a pureblood, they could also eat normal things as long as they had blood as well.

“Are you sure he didn’t just have a family emergency? It could just be unfortunate timing,” Tee tried.

Phukan was sure she was trying to make him feel better about being ditched, but she was also probably thinking Phukan deserved it. She had never agreed with how Phukan behaved, mainly because she had it happen to her once, but nevertheless she still supported him in his endeavors.
Jin, on the other hand, was a whole different story. He never softened his blows when he spoke his mind and Phukan was not an exception.

“Don’t baby him Tee. I think he had it coming for a while. Let him sit with the pain of being on the other end of a one night stand for once. He probably already knew how you worked so beat you to the punch. Can’t say the same for the others who thought they could tame you. Hopefully this lesson knocked some sense into you,” he said while laughing and slapping Phukan’ back.

Phukan buried his face in his arms. He felt like crying, but he never was good at showing emotions and he wasn’t going to start now. Besides, Jin had a point. He’s done this with all of his other conquests, so why is it a problem now that it was done to him?

“You know what? I just need to get my groove back. It was just a one night stand. I can always find other people to sleep with. I’ll just treat them a little nicer after we’re done now that I know what being left behind feels like.”

Jin shook his head and laughed, while Tee rolled her eyes.

“That was not the message you were supposed to take from that,” she argued.

Phukan looked confused.

“Then what message was I supposed to take? I don’t do commitments. I don’t want to date anyone. I just like sex, and there is nothing wrong with being a person who only likes sex. I will just change the way I go about it and maybe give my conquests a few minutes of cuddle time before leaving.”

Jin looked at Phukan in bewilderment.

“So in other words, you aren’t changing your ways at all. Here’s hoping you find another Cirrus to knock some sense into you.”

Phukan was surprised at his friends’ words. He thought they were on the same page in this regard.

“Wait, why am I being judged all of a sudden? I thought we all didn’t like the idea of committment.”

Tee shook her head. “Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy letting loose and having fun. I do eventually want to settle down though and maybe find someone to start a family with. I just haven’t found anyone who didn’t want anything but just fun from me. Jin’s like you, he’s not really seeking commitment per se, but he also doesn’t sleep with random people all the time. It's mostly just making out on his end. So not really the same. It's like you're dining and dashing and leaving the other person to foot the bill with their feelings and now you kind of see what that's like.”

Phukan sighed. “I don't know. I understand what you all are saying, but I honestly just want to get Cirrus out of my head for the time being so I may still go to Nightshade tomorrow. I'm not going to have my last memory of sex being tainted by the fact that I was ditched.”

“Fair enough,” Jin said, finally siding with Phukan.

Tee kicked him under the table.

“I know him. He won’t be able to go that long without sex. I’m sure he’s going to continue old habits.”

Deep down Phukan knew she was right, but that still didn’t mean he wasn’t offended by the comment.

He changed topics and began talking about his father.

“My dad wants me to go with him on some trip in a few weeks to work on honing in on my powers. Apparently I’m supposed to be able to do more than what I currently can, but I honestly feel like what I do already is enough. I can take care of myself. I’ve been alive long enough to know that much. I want to tell him no, but I feel it’s not an optional request. It’s a bit maddening really.”

Tee looked at him, eyes filled with sympathy. “I bet it’s a lot being the son of the coven leader, but hey, at least when you eventually become in charge, you could probably change things for the better.”

Phukan scoffed. “The old man will never retire until he dies. I won’t ever be in charge.”

Jin checked his phone and quickly stood up, “Hey I got to get back. I forgot I was supposed to cover at the blood drive today. Tee, do you need a ride home?”

“Yeah, I’ll go with you.” She tapped Phukan on the shoulder.

“Let us know how everything goes tomorrow. Good luck.”

Phukan nodded. Though he was still upset about last weekend, he was looking forward to getting back to his old self and feeling free. He picked up their empty cups and threw it in the trash before heading out. Yeah, he just needed to get back to routine.

⚰⚰⚰

Nightshade was a bit more packed than it was the week before and Phukan could barely navigate the dance floor without bumping into someone. Since he was alone he decided to spend his time sitting at the bar looking around for a lover for the night.

In all honesty, now that he was here, he was actually feeling less enthusiastic about the idea. He ordered a vodka tonic and sipped it as he surveyed the dance floor. He didn’t really see anyone of interest to him and he was a tad bit disappointed at this outcome. How was he supposed to get his mind off of Cirrus if there was no one to help him take his mind off the man.

It was at that moment that the chair next to him was pulled back and a woman with green eyes and long wavy red hair down to her waist sat in the chair next to him. Her eyes he noticed had gold flecks in them.

Pureblood, he thought.

She had on a glittery olive green dress that hugged her body tightly. She had a slit up one thigh and her boobs were puffed up in the cups of the dress. She was breathtakingly beautiful. Normally the type Phukan would go for, but strangely he still found himself disinterested.

He turned back and took a sip of his drink as he looked up at the clock. One more hour and he may leave. Tonight wasn’t turning out so great. It was then that the woman next to him started to speak.

“Slow night for you? You look bored.”

He turned to her and let out a small laugh. “You could say that.”

“It’s weird. Shouldn’t a handsome fella like yourself be out on the dance floor? You seem like the type who would be surrounded by girls.”

Phukan wasn’t really keen on speaking to her, but he didn’t really have anything else to do besides being alone with his thoughts, so he indulged.

“I have preferences. Not really into anyone here.”

The woman rested her hand on top of his and gave him a smile, biting her lip.

“Not even me?” she asked.

Before he could respond he felt someone watching him and the hair on the back of his neck raised.

He looked past the woman to where he was picking up the feeling from and locked eyes with Cirrus. He was watching him and there was a big frown on his face and what looked like a glare to his slightly red eyes. Phukan smirked.

Is he jealous? He wondered to himself.

His interest in the woman suddenly grew. He turned back to the woman and smiled, leaning in to whisper in her ear.

“You’re very beautiful, but I didn’t get a name.”

He leaned back and looked over to where Cirrus was standing again, seeing the man’s eyes grow even more red. The woman smiled brightly and held out her hand.

“Nalin. And you are?”

He shook her hand and brought it up to his lips and placed a small kiss.

“Phukan. It’s very nice to meet you Nalin, want to dance?”

She nodded and Phukan downed his drink, all the while keeping his eyes on Cirrus as he walked Nalin to the dance floor.

Phukan pulled Nalin close to him and put a hand on her waist as she danced against him to the music. With her faced away from him she wouldn’t be able to see that his eyes were not as focused on her as they should be. Instead he grinded in tune with her while gauging Cirrus' reactions.

He didn’t know why he was trying so hard to make the man jealous. Maybe he was just getting revenge for being ditched, maybe he wanted his attention, he didn’t know the motive. What he did know was that he wanted to escalate things.

He noticed that Cirrus had turned to look away from where he was. A little disappointed, he set his sights back on Nalin.

As he continued dancing, Nalin turned to him and smiled. Before he knew it, her lips were on his.

He didn’t really want to kiss her, but he also didn’t want to fail in making Cirrus jealous, so he let the kiss happen despite the feeling building up to protest it.

There was a voice in his head telling him to stop, that he was pushing too far, but he didn’t.

Nalin broke the kiss and went for his neck, attempting to lick a stripe up the side, but Phukan wasn’t focused on her at all. Instead he was focused on Cirrus, who was not looking in his direction as he wanted, but was instead looking down at a brunette in a black bra and mini-skirt with thigh high boots, biker jacket hanging off of her shoulders.

She was clearly flirting, running a hand down his arm shyly and giggling at him, with Cirrus giving her a smile back.

He was honestly furious.

First he slept with him and then snuck out on him, now he had the nerve to flirt with someone else right in front of him.

Phukan saw red. He felt Nalin start to bite at his neck and pushed her away from him. He gave her a tight smile and said,
“I’m sorry, you seem like a nice girl and all, you’re very beautiful, but I don’t wish to continue things any further. If you’ll excuse me.”

He turned and headed straight for Cirrus as the girl slunk into his side. He felt himself get even angrier at the sight. He plastered on a fake smile and spoke directly to Cirrus.

“I need to speak to you.”

He side-eyes the girl.

“In private.”

She rolled her eyes at him and glared. “Can’t you see we’re busy? Talk to him another time.”

Phukan looked at Cirrus and saw he had an amused look on his face.

What the hell is he smiling for? He needs to wipe that grin off his face before I do it for him, he thought.

“I said we need to talk,” he stepped forward into Cirrus' space, glaring at him and ignoring the girl.

“Go find someone else to bother, he’s with me,” the girl said again.

If looks could kill, she would be dead and it infuriated him even further that Cirrus wasn’t saying anything, just kept looking at him with that shit eating grin.

Phukan fully reacted before he could even think about what he was doing. He pushed the girl to the side and forcefully brought Cirrus to his lips, roughly kissing him and biting into his lip, drawing blood. His eyes felt like they were burning as he turned to the girl and hissed, “Mine!”
She backed up further away from them both before running off into the crowd.

Phukan couldn’t calm down, however, even with the girl out of sight. Instead he grabbed hold of Cirrus' hand and dragged him out of the club. He had officially lost it. He didn’t care if he was receiving any weird looks, he didn’t care about the people he roughly pushed aside along the way, he couldn’t focus on anything but his anger at Cirrus.

When they got to his car he yanked open the passenger side door and made Cirrus get into it. The drive back was so silent. He felt Cirrus watching him the whole time yet neither one spoke a single word. It wasn’t until they made it back to Phukan’s home that Cirrus decided to break the silence.

“Phukan,” Cirrus started to speak once they got inside, but Phukan shoved him.

His rage was gaining a hold of him and he couldn’t reel it back in.

“Mine,” he said as he pushed Cirrus again into the wall and followed him quickly to aggressively kiss and bite his lips.

He raked his nails over Cirrus' waist and dug them deep as he bit into his neck. He heard Cirrus groan and drank from him as he said, “Phukan,” over and over again.

His hand came up to Cirrus' throat and he squeezed as he continued to drink from him. Moans were coming out of Cirrus' mouth uncontrollably now and they set Phukan even more on fire.

Cirrus grabbed hold of him and flipped their positions. He kissed Phukan again and pulled at his bottom lip, scraping it before sucking the top lip into his mouth. His eyes a fiery red as he sank his teeth into flesh and drank from Phukan, there was a deep hunger in the way he drank just like before and Phukan felt overwhelmed, focus returning to him as the pleasure in him overtook the rage. After a few minutes, Phukan gained a clearer head and pushed Cirrus away from him.

Cirrus pulled him right back and held onto him as he covered his face and neck in soft kisses. His anger dissipated from his body as the color in his eyes returned back to its normal color. Cirrus stopped his attack and looked at him gently.

“Are you okay now? Are you ready to talk or are you still angry with me?”

Phukan frowned and tried moving away.

“I’m still angry with you. Let me go.”

Cirrus chuckled. “I don’t think you have any right to be jealous and angry with me tonight. If I recall you made out with that redhead in front of me and asked her to dance. You didn’t seem to care about my feelings when you did that.”

Phukan was mad he had a point, he just didn’t want to admit it.

“And you didn’t seem to care about my feelings when you ditched me right after sex.”

It was out in the open now and Phukan knew he was being a hypocrite about this as if he didn’t do it consistently to others, but he was still hurt by the fact that it was his first time letting his guard down around anyone and he was left vulnerable.

Cirrus sighed and gave Phukan a hug, squeezing him and kissing the side of his neck over the spot where he had bit into as Phukan closed his eyes in response and melted into him.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t plan on just leaving you there. I just had to get back. My friend needed the blood I was grabbing when we met and we’d already gone a few days without it, so I was just trying to get it to him. I wasn’t even thinking about how you would have felt.”

He kissed Phukan on the lips and he softly returned it.

I guess Tee was right, he thought.

He felt a bit better about the situation knowing he wasn’t just used and cast aside.

“I’m sorry for trying to make you jealous. I was hurt and wanted to hurt you back.” Cirrus laughed again, pulling him in for another kiss.

He spoke against his mouth as he said, “I figured as much, but I still didn’t like you touching her.”

He nipped Phukan’s neck again before Phukan grabbed his hand and pulled him to the couch. Cirrus sat down and Phukan laid down and rested his head in Cirrus' lap as Cirrus stroked his hair.

“Phukan,” Cirrus started.

“Yes?” Phukan answered.

“Is it wrong of me to assume you like me?”

Phukan froze. That wasn’t what he was expecting to hear. Cirrus wasn’t wrong in assuming Phukan’ feelings for him, but Phukan was still very much so afraid of commitment and didn’t know how to voice that out. He tried in the best way he could.

“No, I do like you. You’re not wrong. I just..I just have issues with commitment. I know this is probably not going to be what you want to hear, but I don’t mind continuing this with you, but dating, being boyfriends, that can’t come with it. I really hope that will be okay with you.”

Cirrus was silent for a moment and honestly it scared Phukan a little bit. Maybe he really wouldn’t want anything to do with him anymore. He could honestly feel fear strike his heart as he waited on an answer.

“So what would you call us then?” Cirrus finally asked.

Phukan sat up and shrugged. “Friends with benefits, fuck buddies, sexual companions. It could also be undefined.”

Cirrus nodded. “I can work with that. Will I still be able to feed from you whenever I want?”

Phukan looked at Cirrus in confusion.

“What do you mean?”

Cirrus sighed. “Ever since our first time together, I’ve been unable to drink human blood. It tastes vile to me. I always end up throwing it up. I thankfully haven’t been feeling any hunger pains like usual, but I’m worried it’s a false sense of security and seeing as I was able to drink your blood again today with no issue, I’m thinking that maybe I can only drink yours now.”

Phukan hasn’t heard of that ever happening before, but he could maybe ask his father about it. See if there were some way to help him, as Cirrus was right. Vampires, especially turned ones, can’t live without human blood. He doesn’t know how Cirrus isn’t feral at this point if he has gone a week without being able to feed.

“You can feed from me whenever you would like. I don’t mind it, but I’ll also try to help you solve your predicament. I didn’t realize that was something that could happen.”

Phukan exposed his neck. “Do you need blood now?”

Cirrus shook his head and pulled Phukan into him, nuzzling his neck.

“No, I’m fine for right now.”

Phukan sighed in contentment and leaned into Cirrus more.

“Does this mean you’re okay with no commitments?” Phukan asked. He needed a clear answer on this.

“Yes I am okay with no commitments. For right now at least. Who knows, maybe I’ll change your mind on the matter.”

Phukan laughed. Cirrus was pretty funny.

“Good luck with that. The day I enter a relationship is the day in which hell freezes over.”

Cirrus tickled Phukan and Phukan doubled over in laughter before punching him in the shoulder. He stood up and reached for Cirrus' hand.

“Come on, let’s go to bed.”

Cirrus took it and gave him one last kiss on the lips before heading to Phukan’ bedroom together. Unbeknownst to Phukan, Cirrus was hatching a plan to make the vampire officially his.

Chapter Text

Chapter 4: Close Encounters
Cirrus messed up. He knows he messed up big time.

When Phukan first approached him at the club he should have maybe tried harder to entertain the girl who approached him to keep his cover or maybe just went along with him to begin with to make it seem like maybe Cirrus was getting information from him, but he froze and panicked. Because of this Phukan fought with the girl he was using as a cover and let it out that they had slept together.

He may not have said those actual words, but Phukan’ loud, deep growl of possession filled the room and the way his gray eyes boldly darkened before kissing him scared even Cirrus.

Cirrus willingly went with him, feeling a little bit happy that Phukan wanted him that much to stake his claim so publicly, but the dread he felt overshadowed that when he locked eyes with a confused Nalin.

The question was clear in her eyes about what was going on. He knew it would get reported back to Alistair and he would have to explain himself, but his fear was swept away when Phukan kissed him.

He had wanted to talk and discuss how they left things when they had got to Phukan’s place, but Phukan drinking from him set off more intense feelings in his body that he never felt with anyone else before and he got lost in it.

Their conversation afterwards was better than expected as it at least told Cirrus enough that Phukan liked him, even if the man didn't quite understand his own feelings.

He was currently naked, cuddled up to the vamp, running a finger down his chest as Phukan ran his hand through his hair. He felt secure and happy like this and he didn't want to leave the protective bubble he felt he was in. He did want to speak to Phukan and find out a little bit more about him and maybe even tell him more about himself as well.

Cirrus lifted his head up and gave Phukan a kiss on the cheek before fully sitting up. He saw it was nearly 4am which meant the sun would be coming up soon. He would have to leave now or basically be stuck inside his house until nightfall came.

“I didn't want to be the one to break up this moment, but I think I have to head home now. The sun will be rising soon and I don't want to get caught in it.”

He started to get out of the bed to get dressed when he felt Phukan grab a hold on his arm and pull him back.

“Stay,” he said.

Cirrus was a little confused by the action, but looked into Phukan’ eyes and saw the pleading look he gave.

“Please stay with me,” he begged.

Cirrus could not resist the cute face staring back at him and nodded, laying himself back down on the bed.

Phukan pulled him into another kiss. This one, however, was slow and sensual. It felt more like a kiss between lovers than one with a casual hookup and it thrilled Cirrus to no end.

Wait, you’re not supposed to catch feelings, he thought to himself.

Cirrus melted into it regardless and after a few minutes pulled back. He rubbed his thumb over Phukan’ bottom lip and gave it a small peck and nip before smiling.

“What do you want to do today? Something that can be done indoors while the sun is up. We could watch a movie, play video games, whatever you want. I don't really mind going along with anything,” Cirrus said.

Phukan just looked at him before grabbing his hand and giving it a kiss, and stroking his thumb across the back of his hand.

“Let’s watch some movies and then I can get us something to eat. I can probably gauge better if you truly only can drink from me or if it's another issue.”

Cirrus nodded and watched as Phukan got up and slid on his underwear before heading into the bathroom. He took this moment to put on his underwear as well before sending a quick text to Wim and Alistair that he would not be coming back to the compound tonight but will be back when night comes around again.

Wim sent a thumbs up, but Cirrus froze seeing the response he got from Alistair.

When you get home, we need to talk.

He sighed. He knew he was in trouble. Not only for Phukan, but for leaving Nalin behind at the club when he was instructed to look after her while she secured Phukan. He was going to have to make up an excuse for what happened to not end up on his bad side.

Alistair was the only reason he was receiving blood and had somewhere to stay while he was working everything out. He couldn’t afford to be kicked out and he couldn’t exactly go to Phukan either since he doesn’t really see Cirrus as any more than someone to play with. He had to play things carefully on both ends to try not to make a further mess of his situation.

He got up and walked around the room, viewing the things Phukan had laying around. Mostly his room was neat and in order and he had a ton of photos of him and what looked like his friends all over. He didn’t really see any pictures of his family at all, but he did see one tiny picture of a woman with long blonde hair holding a tiny baby on his desk.

Must be his mom, Cirrus thought.

He picked up the picture and looked at it for a moment. In all of their briefings about their family, Alistair never did mention anything about Phukan’ mom. He wondered what had happened to her.

It was then that he heard the bathroom door open again and he quickly set the picture back down before turning to face Phukan.

Phukan grinned and looked over his shoulder to see what he was messing with.

“Already snooping on your first night in my home? Or should I say day? The sun is starting to rise.”

Cirrus blushed with a sheepish look on his face.

“Sorry I just saw the photo of your mom on your desk and got curious.”

Cirrus saw sadness flicker in Phukan’ eyes before he put on a smile again.

“Yeah, that’s my mom. I don’t have many photos of her, but that one has always been my favorite.”

“Do you mind me asking what happened to her?”

Phukan sighed and went and grabbed Cirrus' hand.

“Maybe I’ll tell you next time, but for now, let’s go watch that movie, yeah?”

Cirrus nodded as he let himself be dragged from the room.

Phukan pressed a button on the wall near the living room’s entrance and metal shades began to slide down before cutting off any outside rays from shining in. It left the living room completely dark, but for them it was better that way, and Cirrus was appreciative of the fact that he didn’t have to worry about dodging the sun while here.

He knew Phukan had a daylight ring so he could have easily forgotten to close them and possibly be used to walking around in the sun, so he was a bit touched that he didn’t have to remind him to close them.

“Thank you for staying with me. I know you didn’t have to and probably had other things going on, I just didn’t feel like being alone for the day.”

Cirrus sat on the couch and pulled Phukan into his lap while hugging his waist.

“I didn’t really have anything going on anyways. I don’t mind spending time with you.”

He kissed up his neck and gripped his waist. Phukan quickly got up and turned to face him.

“We went several rounds throughout the night. Are you still not satisfied?”

Cirrus chuckled, “When it comes to you, I don’t think I could ever be satisfied,” he teased.

He saw Phukan nervously look away before he quickly said, “Let me go pick out a movie for us to watch.” He disappeared from the room as Cirrus grinned at his behavior.

Cirrus was telling the truth however, he couldn’t get enough of Phukan, even if he wanted to. Something about him just pulled him in even more than when he’s been with anyone else. He feels Phu is the same way, but just has issues he has to work through and Cirrus was going to help him work through them by any means necessary.

Phukan came back into the room with a few DVDs, some popcorn and what looked like a container of blood.
“Sorry for the wait, as I said I wanted to test if you actually had a problem with drinking blood, or if maybe it was just a temporary thing. A friend of mine works at a blood donation center and he takes a couple of bags of blood every now and again for vampires who don’t hunt and he usually leaves me with some. Do you want to drink some so I can see what you were talking about?”

Cirrus nodded and took the container from Phukan. He hesitated a little bit before drinking from it, trying to allow the blood to get down his throat.

Almost immediately that vile taste hit again and Cirrus threw it up.

Phukan jumped up from where he was and started hitting his back to help him cough up the vomit that was still caught in his throat. He honestly felt bad about the mess he was making in his home, but Phukan didn’t seem to care as he went to grab some water from the kitchen.

He sat Cirrus down and gave him the drink before leaning down and cleaning up the mess with the towel and cleaning solution he brought back with him. Cirrus sat up and tried to take it from him.

“Here let me do it, you shouldn’t have to clean up my mess.”

Phukan smiled, “I’m the one who made you drink it, so I don’t mind really. Not the worst thing to ever happen. I can handle a little vomit. You sit back and just drink the water until your throat clears back up.”

Cirrus nodded and did as he was told, watching as Phukan finished cleaning everything up. There was still a bit of a stain from the blood on the carpet but he just shrugged it off.

“I can always get this replaced if I need to. No need to worry about the little things,” Phukan said.

He turned to Cirrus.

“Do you mind if I try one more thing?” he asked.

Cirrus nodded and watched as Phukan dug a nail into his wrist until blood started to pool. He leaned his wrist over the open container of blood and let his own fall into it. A good amount was poured in before Phukan licked at his wound and sealed it back up. He then closed the cap and shook it a bit before handing it back to Cirrus.

“Try that. Maybe you will be able to drink normal blood if mine is mixed in with it? I hope it helps.”

Cirrus kind of frowned as it was like a parent mixing a kids favorite food with veggies to ensure they ate properly. He didn't want to be treated like a child, but then again he did need blood to live.

He took the container and drank a tiny wary sip so he didn't have as bad a reaction as before. However, instead of the same vile taste as before. It was like a honeyed version of the blood he was used to drinking. It was so good and so nice to drink again that Cirrus couldn't help himself and drank the entire container down.

He dragged a finger on the insides, scooping up what little excess blood he could reach and eating it off his finger as Phukan looked on in amusement.

“Interesting,” he said smiling. “Does that help?”

Cirrus nodded and smiled back. It was way better than before. Even before he had a problem with drinking.

Phukan reached up and ran his thumb over the corner of Cirrus' mouth. When he pulled back Cirrus saw the blood that coated the tips as Phukan sucked his thumb into his mouth.

“Mmhm, delicious. I want to try a little more.”

Cirrus looked down at the empty container.

“Sorry, I drank it all,” he said.

There was a glint in Phukan’s eyes as he looked back at him with a hungry look on his face.

“It’s not all gone,” he said as he pounced on Cirrus and ran a tongue over the corners of his mouth.

Cirrus moaned and gripped Phukan tightly, grinding him into his lap as the vamp continued to lick around his mouth. Slowly sliding his tongue against Cirrus’ lips.

Finally he pushed his tongue into Cirrus' mouth and Cirrus sucked on it as Phukan moaned into his mouth. It was purely erotic. He couldn’t understand why Phukan had him like this so much. It was honestly like he couldn’t get enough of him.

Cirrus gripped Phu’s chin and looked at him with lust.

“Are you sure you’re not a siren? Why can’t I control myself around you?” he asked, biting his lips.

He moved Phukan’ underwear to the side and licked his fingers before pressing two of them into Phu. He felt the man tense and let out a harsh moan into his ear as he worked him over with his hand and he felt himself grow tighter in his underwear.

When he was satisfied that Phu was prepped enough, he pulled himself from the confines of the boxers he had on. Before he could sink him down onto his cock, however, the front door burst open.

Rays of sunshine from outside streaked through and lit up the room. In his efforts to take cover before he was burned alive, Cirrus dropped Phukan from his lap. Phu fell flat on his back as Cirrus hid behind the couch for protection, wincing when he realized what he did.

“Shit! Close the door,” Phukan shouted at the intruder.

The rays of sun that were filling the room suddenly vanished and the room went dark again. Cirrus slowly peeked around the couch and made eye contact with Phukan who was rubbing his back in pain.

Cirrus rushed over to him and helped him sit on the couch, before turning to see who had entered. He saw a tall man with short, jet black hair and gold eyes staring back at him. The man looked down and then back up to his eyes before turning to look at Phukan with a puzzled expression on his face.

Cirrus looked down and realized they were only in their underwear and he quickly covered him and Phukan up with the blanket that was on the couch.

“Phukan. Who is this?” The man asked, looking between the two of them.

Is this another one of Phukan’ hookups, Cirrus thought, slowly going into possessive mode as he squeezed Phukan to his side and glared, planting a kiss on his neck.

He felt Phu tense and then saw when the realization hit him as a slow grin crept up on his face at Cirrus’ actions.

Phu pushed back against him lightly before saying “Down boy, don’t worry this is just one of my close friends Jin. No romantic ties at all,” he said to Cirrus, giving him a kiss on the lips.

That made him feel slightly better but he was still on guard just in case.

“I’m sorry Phukan, are you going to answer my question, or am I supposed to pretend you don’t have a random stranger in your home?”

Phukan laughed and leaned back into Cirrus more before answering.

“This is Cirrus. He isn’t so much a stranger, he’s more of a friend.”

Who you also sleep with, Cirrus thought.

He saw Jin’s eyes light up with recognition, which was weird because he was sure he never met the man before in his life.

Jin sat next to them on the arm of the couch as he began to tease Phukan, much to Cirrus' dissatisfaction.

“So how many more of these “friends” are you expecting to bring over? And why doesn’t this one have a daylight ring? He is a pureblood right?”

Cirrus noticed Phukan letting out a sigh before speaking.

“I don’t invite my playmates to my home, Jin. You already know this. And no, he’s not a pureblood. Anything else?”

Jin grinned at him before turning to Cirrus.

“So if he’s not a playmate, then who is he?” He feigned shock, eyes wide, hands covering his mouth before saying, “Did someone get themselves a boyfriend?”

Phukan untangled himself from Cirrus, much to his disappointment, before glaring at Jin.
“I already told you, I don’t date. I don’t do commitments. Cirrus is just a friend. That’s all.”

Cirrus did not like hearing that, but he already knew starting this he’d have his work cut out for him lowering Phukan’ defenses on this matter.

Jin nodded before changing topics. “So I wanted to come over for a bit to hang. I didn’t know you’d have anyone here. Is it okay that I join? You know since we’re all friends,” he said, winking in Phukan’ direction.

Cirrus knew at that moment they weren’t going to finish what they started earlier. Jin seemed pretty insistent on staying, matters made worse by the fact that Cirrus couldn’t even leave until nightfall to escape the uncomfortableness of this situation.

Jin climbed in between them on the couch and wrapped his arms around them. He looked down at them both under the blanket and grinned.

“So, should I strip down to my underwear as well and really make this a true boys party, a threesome if you will?”

Cirrus flinched and Phukan rolled his eyes.

“We’ll go get dressed. In the meantime, find us a movie to watch,” Phukan said, tossing him the remote and hitting Jin’s shoulder before grabbing Cirrus' hand and dragging him off to his room.

Cirrus looked back and saw Jin frowning and rubbing his arm where the remote had hit and muttering something about being polite to guests before letting himself be pulled to Phu’s room.

Cirrus was not very happy, but that all changed when Phukan closed the door behind them and locked it before turning to Cirrus and instantly dropping to his knees. Cirrus was going to protest, but Phukan pulled down his boxers and licked a long stripe up his hard on. Cirrus gasped and jerked as his hand reflexively went into Phu’s hair.

“We don’t have a lot of time. Please don’t stop me,” he whispered before taking Cirrus fully into his mouth.

Cirrus felt himself hit the back of his throat and let out a deep groan, pulling Phu’s hair harder as Phukan sucked him deeper into his mouth, feeling his tongue slide beautifully around his cock. He couldn’t help the moans he was letting out, couldn’t keep quiet as Phukan worked his magic on him.

He started slowly thrusting into Phukan’ mouth, pulling out until it was just the tip his lips were wrapped around before pushing hard back into his throat. Phukan’ muffled moans were like music to his ears as he developed a rhythm and kept fucking into his mouth, pulling his hair so tightly Phukan let out a small yelp of pain.

He could feel the pressure building as his orgasm was quickly approaching and though he wanted to hold off, he knew that with Jin downstairs they couldn’t take as long as they wanted to.

Phukan reached down into his boxers and started to jerk himself off as Cirrus used his mouth how he wanted to. Picking up speed at the sight of Phukan touching himself, it didn’t take long before he was spilling his seed into his mouth and Phukan swallowed it all, still jerking himself off until he stilled and released himself onto the floor and partly on Cirrus' leg.

He licked around Cirrus' cock a few more times as they both breathed heavily from their release. After a few minutes Phukan stood up and pulled Cirrus' underwear back up before wiping the corners of his mouth.

“Let’s get cleaned up and dressed, hmm? Can’t keep him waiting too long,” Phukan teased.

Cirrus grinned and followed Phukan into the bathroom.

⚰⚰⚰

Hanging out with Jin wasn’t as bad as Cirrus was expecting, though he did wish he had the day with Phukan like they originally planned. Pretty soon it was night and Cirrus had to get back home. He didn’t really want to leave Phukan, but he needed to have that talk with Alistair and not drag it out.

He said goodbye to the two boys before making his way back to his compound, a little nervous about the conversation that would take place since Cirrus knew in Alistair’s eyes he did a lot of things wrong and he was willing to accept any consequences that were to come from it.

When he made it home, he immediately went to Alistair's office, ready to get the argument over with.

Cirrus wasn’t even in the office for two seconds before the first question came hurling at him.

“Where have you been?” Alistair asked.

Thinking it best not to lie because undoubtedly he already knows the truth, Cirrus responded, “I stayed at Phukan’ for the day.”

Alistair chuckled before turning to face Cirrus.

“Yes, Phukan. Nalin told me about what happened with you two at the club last night. How close you two seemed and how possessive Phukan got with you after flirting with her. It made us think that you were leaving things out when we went over the plan with you. Care to tell us what that was?”

Cirrus knew it was going to come out one way or another, so he just ripped the bandaid off.

“Phukan and I had a one night stand the night I missed our meeting. At the time I didn’t know who he was, but I did leave when I got the text with his picture. Guess he was upset about me disappearing on him and snapped. I have things resolved temporarily.”

Alistair chuckled again.

“I didn’t even know you liked men. I’ve only ever seen you with women.”

Cirrus shrugged.

“I like both. Is that going to be a problem?”

Alistair laughed again and it was starting to irritate Cirrus a little bit.

“Son, I don’t care one bit about your personal preferences. I do, however, care that the plan is still intact. Are you two dating? Do you have feelings for him?”

Cirrus didn’t want to seem untrustworthy, so he did what anyone else would have done in the moment. He laughed.

“Feelings? Oh god no, it was just sex. We’re not dating at all. You did tell me to do whatever I needed to to get close to him in case Nalin failed and she did fail, and Phukan wanted me. I did my part like I was supposed to. We’re friends right now is what he’s calling it, so the plan is still intact.”

Though Cirrus hated saying these words and his stomach sunk at them, he kept a straight face to get Alistair to believe the lie.

Alistair smiled widely and approached Cirrus to give him a big pat on the back.

“I knew there was a reason you were my favorite. You would make an even better spy than Nalin. You have that innocent and kind look to you that makes you seem more trustworthy than others. I’m going to put my trust in you Cirrus. Don’t ruin that as this plan is the only way to keep the rest of us safe.”

Cirrus nodded. “I won’t sir.”

“Did you find out anything else while you were with him?” Cirrus thought back, but honestly all he could think about was Phukan and how cute he looked when he was sleeping and how much of a tease he could be and- Focus! He told himself as he looked back at Alistair.

“No, nothing yet, but I do plan on getting him to open up more. Just give me time.”

Alistair nodded and looked at Cirrus.

“Just in case, you’ll have Nalin to check in with from time to time. If you ever have to move in with him to commit to the act, I will allow it as long as the updates continue. Don’t let me down, Cirrus.”

“I won’t.”

Alistair waved him away and he left the room, bumping into Nalin on his way out. She grabbed onto his arm and quickly pinned him to the wall before he could even think.

“I don’t know what game you think you’re playing, but I’m going to keep a close eye on you to make sure you don’t screw things up,” she whispered in his ear.

She quickly kissed the side of his face before he shoved her away.

“Don’t touch me,” he said angrily.

Nalin laughed.

“Just checking something. Rejected twice in one day. That’s not a good look for me is it?”

“I’m not interested,” Cirrus said as he walked away.

“That’s because you’re interested in Phukan right?” Cirrus froze as Nalin continued talking.

“You may be able to fool Alistair but I know what I saw. You’re not fooling me. Good luck with the mission. I’ll make sure it gets carried out one way or another.”

Cirrus' heart went cold. He didn’t know how he was going to pull it off, but he would make sure he kept Phukan safe in the process. He walked off back to his room to figure out what he was going to do.

His first priority: Win Phukan over.
