Katsuki dropped his phone onto his chest and leaned back against his pillows with a sigh. He usually wasn’t one to get wrapped up in his head, but Ochako’s messages were still fresh on his mind. If the nerd did like him, he wasn’t going to miss his chance—he was going to do something about it. That’s just how he was.

He felt creepily like Mineta with the way he immediately ditched training with Kirishima and Kaminari to invite Izuku over. But hey, when he wants something, Katsuki will do anything in his power to obtain it. He’d rather be around Izuku than the extras anyway.

He didn’t even have a plan for how he was going to confess. It was hard for him to confront the idea that he actually liked the green-haired nerd. He’d always known the feelings he harbored for Izuku were different from how he felt about the rest of the extras in his life. He wasn’t stupid—he knew they were romantic. Labeling them as romantic, however, made him feel like a lovesick grade schooler. 

His feelings went beyond a typical romantic relationship—sometimes he genuinely felt crazy. He felt like he always needed to keep an eye on the nerd. Izuku was strong—Katsuki had acknowledged that a while ago. He could fight villains without help and keep people safe, but he never looked after himself. Katsuki felt like it was his job to watch over him. He needed to always be by the nerd’s side, just in case Izuku got too wrapped up in a fight to notice the harm he was doing to himself. That need to stay close had led Katsuki to eavesdrop on the green-haired man countless times—not because he cared about what Izuku talked about with others, but because he wanted to make sure Izuku wasn’t getting into trouble. His whole mind revolved around the nerd in some way; he was either worrying about him or admiring him—and it made him feel insane.

 He was doing it again: acting like the nerd. That was another thing that drove him crazy—over the years they’d known each other, Katsuki had picked up on most of Izuku’s habits. One he’d recently noticed was the nerd’s overthinking. Thankfully, he didn’t ramble on like Izuku, but he definitely felt like he’s started overthinking like him.

Katsuki let out a huff, picking up his phone. Where the hell was Izuku? Just as he was about to message the green-haired boy, he heard a knock on his door. Katsuki immediately smiled to himself—Izuku was such a dork. He’d told the nerd countless times to just come in—no need to knock.

He pushed himself off the bed and made his way over to the door. His hand reached out and twisted the knob—swinging open the door. A small smile crept onto his face as he saw the nerd standing there—obviously wrapped up in his own thoughts.

Letting out a sigh, he grabbed Izuku’s arm and pulled him inside—shutting the door behind him. He looked down and noticed the clothes in Izuku’s hand. 

“I told you not to worry about the clothes, dumbass.” Subconsciously, he was shaking his head at Izuku. Rolling his eyes playfully, he took the clothes from the nerd’s hands, and walked over to the laundry basket, tossing them in without a second thought. “Next time, keep them,” he muttered under his breath.

“It felt weird keeping them,” Izuku said quietly. A smile rising to his face.

Katsuki rolled his eyes playfully again and grabbed Izuku’s arm, dragging him over to the bed. 

As he sat back on the bed, leaning against the pillows, he watched as Izuku followed suit. Izuku was staying oddly quiet—which bothered him. It was obvious the nerd was thinking about something but the way he was being so quiet ticked him off. Furrowing his brows, Katsuki leaned forward towards Izuku.

“Oi, I can hear you thinking!” His voice raised slightly as he gently flicked the other on the forehead. Pulling away, Katsuki watched as Izuku looked at him sheepishly.

“What’s got you so wrapped up in your head today? You’ve been acting like this since you were standing outside the door.” His voice was quieter now, feeling a little awkward. Katsuki hated when Izuku made him feel like that—like he’d done something to bother him.

“It’s nothing…” Izuku said softly, looking over at him with a small smile. He watched as Izuku leaned back against the pillows, just as he did. “What did you want to do?”

Katsuki grumbled quietly at Izuku’s avoidance. Instead of pressuring the nerd about what was bothering him, he chose to ignore it. If something were truly bothering Izuku, he would have already said something. Katsuki grabbed the remote off his nightstand and turned on the TV. “Movie?” he asked, even though he was already pulling up Disney Plus.

“I thought you said movies put you to sleep,” Izuku questioned. That damn nerd always had to question everything.

“Well, your nerd ass likes them,” he huffed, scrolling through the movie options. It didn’t matter to him whether he liked watching movies or not—he was more concerned with making Izuku comfortable. Izuku was already wrapped up in his thoughts, and if Katsuki was going to try to confess, he wanted to make sure Izuku was relaxed and not overthinking everything.

“Kacchan, we don’t have to watch a movie. It’s not fun if we both aren’t—“ He tossed the remote toward Izuku’s legs, cutting the nerd off mid-sentence. He was starting to get irritated—Izuku cared too much sometimes, and it annoyed the hell out of him. Katsuki watched as Izuku sighed, picked up the remote, and started scrolling through movie options.

“What about an X-Men movie?” Izuku asked, tilting his head slightly as he looked up at Katsuki with a smile.

Katsuki smirked slightly—holding back a laugh. The way Izuku looked at him for reassurance reminded him of a dog. He let out a small hum of agreement, watching as the other turned back to the TV, searching for the movie.

He reached out and rested his hand on Izuku’s leg, gently rubbing the spot where the remote had hit. He felt the nerd tense under his touch, his face flushing slightly. Katsuki smirked and pretended not to notice. One day, Izuku was going to make him explode—whether from frustration, affection, or something in between, he still hadn’t figured it out. But he was starting not to care. As Izuku pressed play on the movie and tossed the remote aside, he glanced over at Katsuki.

“You have to promise not to fall asleep this time, okay?” Izuku said, raising one eyebrow playfully.

Katuski rolled his eyes and leaned his body closer to Izuku, arm snaking around his waist and pulling him closer. “Shut up and watch the movie.”

“Kacchan you're so feisty today.”

Katsuki tilted his head and glared at him. 

“Yeah?” Katsuki asked, his voice teasing. “I’m like that every day,” he said quietly. His hand slid under the loose shirt Izuku was wearing—gently rubbing his soft, scarred skin. Honestly, he didn’t know what had gotten into him. Maybe he was feeling bold because of the messages Ochako sent, or maybe he had just stopped holding back.

“Well— actually you’re right. I can’t argue with that.” Izuku said quietly, face flushing.

He pulled Izuku closer to his chest. “Obviously you don’t have an issue with my attitude if you keep coming back. So stop complaining. Lay your head down and watch the goddamn movie,” Katsuki said—with no real bite in his voice. One hand still rubbed gently at Izuku’s waist, while the other pushed the side of the idiot’s head down onto his chest.

Once Izuku finally shifted his focus to the movie, Katsuki's free hand moved to his hair. He kept quiet, fingers tangling gently in the soft curls. He was hypocritical—telling Izuku to focus on the movie, knowing damn well his focus was on anything but the movie. When Izuku was close to him like this, he had a hard time keeping his hands to himself. His other hand kept its place at Izuku's waist, rubbing gentle, slow circles. He could feel the nerd's skin heating up—it was ridiculously easy to fluster him. Izuku had always been like that. A single touch, a teasing comment, and Izuku was a mess.Katsuki had to pretend that what he was doing wasn’t a big deal—had to pretend that he wasn't hyperaware of every time Izuku shifted closer, let out a soft laugh, or mumbled a reaction to whatever was happening on screen.

Speaking of the screen, what was happening in the movie? Honestly, he had no clue.

His gaze flicked from Izuku back to the screen—hands pausing for just a moment. He watched in silence, eyes narrowing as one of the more action-packed scenes played out. The flashy explosions in the movie made him huff—he could definitely do better. The movie was boring to him, but Izuku liked it, so he tolerated it.

“Kacchan,” Izuku whispered, his voice sounding slightly breathy—needy, almost. Katsuki felt like he was on a different planet. Out of all the times he’d hung out with Izuku, he had never heard him speak in that tone. His heart was racing—he was feeling a lot. For once, it was him who got warmer, whose face flushed red.

Katsuki tilted his head down to look at the green-haired boy lying against him, letting out a small “Hm?” in question.

Izuku went quiet for a moment before finally speaking, even quieter than before—which wasn’t like him at all. “Why’d you stop?”

It took everything in Katsuki not to grab a fistful of Izuku’s hair, tilt his head up, and kiss him dumb right then and there. His lips curled into a smirk, hands finding their place back where they were originally.“Damn dog,” he muttered under his breath as he started to tangle his fingers back into the green curls. His other hand resumed rubbing slow circles against Izuku’s waist, fingers occasionally tracing the scars along the skin there. Izuku really did act like a needy puppy at times, but he wasn’t complaining. Far from it, actually.

His self restraint had to be studied and rewarded.

Before any not-so-appropriate thoughts could flood his mind, he forced his eyes back to the screen—trying to muster every bit of willpower he had to focus on the boring-ass movie.

“Follow me, guys!” Ochako’s voice was a whisper—loud, but still technically a whisper. Mina, Jirou, and Hagakure trailed behind her, all walking quietly.

Ochako felt like the mastermind right now—well, alongside Mina, of course. She’d been there for everything, and she felt entitled to a front-row seat. She had listened to Izuku rant about Katsuki every morning for weeks. She’d been ditched during countless movie nights because Izuku wanted to hang out with him.

And let’s not forget—she was the one playing matchmaker.

Sure, she could’ve waited for Izuku to come to her and spill everything, but she was impatient… and nosy. She needed to know now if all her hard work had finally paid off.

As they finally stood outside Katsuki’s dorm, Ochako turned around and put her finger to her mouth—making a “shh” noise. Crouching down, she looked at Jirou and nodded, motioning for her to use her quirk to spy.

Jirou got closer to the door, her earphone jacks snaking toward the ground beneath them. She listened intently, trying to make out their conversation.

“Guys, all I hear is a movie. That’s all they’re doing,” Jirou’s voice was a whisper, monotone and clearly unamused.

“Are you serious? They aren’t talking or anything?” Mina chimed in, her face smushing against the door as she tried to listen in too.

Ochako let out a small, defeated grumble. Was Bakugo serious? After she finally gave him the push he needed, this is what he texts Deku to come over and do?

“Are you sure you can’t hear them speaking… maybe the movie is just background noise for them,” she whispered, hoping that was the case. She was starting to think Bakugo was a major loser when it came to romance.

“Maybe he’s taking things slow… give him the benefit of the doubt!” Hagakure said, pressing her ear to the door, trying to listen in as well.

Was Bakugo seriously nervous? For someone who always talked himself up, chickening out when it came to confessing to Deku seemed weird. Ochako sighed to herself, shaking her head. Was she really going to have to listen to Deku gushing over the explosive boy for even longer?

Ochako pressed her face to the door—

thud

No, she didn’t.

She accidentally banged her head against the door.

The loud noise prompted all the girls to look at her in shock—maybe even horror. The last thing they needed was for Bakugo to catch them spying.

Was he schizophrenic, or was he actually hearing noises outside his door? Katsuki looked away from the TV, his hands instinctively tightening where they were touching Izuku.

Izuku was quick to notice his unease—he was quick to notice anything that bothered the blond. He immediately grabbed the remote, picked it up, and turned off the TV. Then he tossed it to the side and tilted his head to stare at Katsuki.

“What’s wrong, Kacchan?”

“Are you hearing anything or am I crazy?” He answered, his brows furrowing slightly. He sat up, pulling Izuku up with him. 

“Kacchan… you might be crazy—”

Izuku’s words were interrupted by a loud thud. 

He knew he wasn’t fucking insane. Okay—maybe when it came to some things, sure—but right now? He was damn sure he wasn’t hearing things. There were noises outside his door, and they hadn’t stopped. Katsuki grumbled to himself, irritation bubbling in his chest as he pushed off the bed and stomped toward the door. His arm reached out and he angrily swung open the door. 

What the fuck was he looking at right now.

Uraraka, Jirou, and Mina—was that Hagakure too?—were crouched down in front of his door. Honestly, he had no words. He didn’t even feel that angry—he was just confused. Seriously, what was he even looking at?

His mouth opened slightly, like he was about to say something, but then he closed it. A hand came up to his temple, rubbing it in mild annoyance. They were lucky he wasn’t in a bad mood—because on any other day, he would’ve screamed at them.

Deku came up behind him, grabbing his arm and tilting his head slightly, his eyes widening when he saw the four girls sitting out there.

“Uraraka, why are you here? Why are you all out there…?” Izuku looked genuinely confused as he spoke.

Moments like this made Katsuki glad Izuku was the one doing the talking. If he hadn’t been there, Katsuki would’ve already chased the four of them down the hall.

Mina quickly grabbed Ochako’s arm and started to drag her away from the door. Just as they were about to run, he immediately reached out and yanked the two of them back toward the door.

“What the hell! Don’t fucking run!” he snapped, clearly pissed. He wanted to know what the fuck was going on. Izuku grabbed Katsuki’s arm, reminding him to not be so aggressive. He huffed and pulled his arm away from Mina.

“We were just walking by and heard the loud-ass movie you two were playing, so we stopped by to see if anything interesting was going on,” Ochako said quickly, her voice sounding guilty.

He knew Round Cheeks was lying. If he had to guess, they were probably all here because of the screenshots Ochako had sent him. He let out a long sigh, making his annoyance obvious. He was about to say something, but noticed Hagakure and Jirou had already run off—damn extras.

“We’ll be on our way now, so no need to get all pissed!” Mina said cheerfully—like she was actually enjoying how annoyed he was. He didn’t even bother stopping them this time. Just stood there, watching as she grabbed Ochako’s arm and dragged her down the hall.

He let out a low grumble and slammed the door shut. Maybe he should take this as a sign to just hurry up and confess to the damn nerd. But it wasn’t that simple. He wasn’t the romantic type. He’d already poured his heart out once when he apologized to Izuku, and that was hard enough. It was just easier to show how he felt through actions. 

Part of him felt like it was already a known fact between them that Izuku was his. Did he really have to be all sappy and shit and confess? Izuku knew damn well he’d never get this close to any of the extras—never be physically close to them either. For someone who overthought everything, that damn idiot seemed completely clueless when it came to love.

“Do you still want to finish the movie?” Izuku’s words interrupted his thoughts.

“Izuku.” His voice was deeper than usual, slightly shaky too. He just hoped it wasn’t obvious he was nervous—he never got nervous.

Honestly, he was already halfway there—might as well go for it. Maybe it wasn’t the most romantic way to confess, but this was them—nothing was ever ideal when it came to them.

“We’re dating, alright? Don’t ask any annoying-ass questions.” 

Izuku was silent for a moment before a flush of red immediately blossomed on his face. Katsuki knew Izuku—he knew a sappy speech was coming next. So, before the damn idiot could start rambling, he took it upon himself to shut him up. Stepping forward, his hand reached up, fingers brushing along Izuku’s jaw, his calloused thumb resting gently just below his cheek. Pressing his forehead against Izuku's, his eyes searched for any hesitation or discomfort.

When their eyes met, he closed the distance.

Their lips met in a long, gentle kiss. There was no urgency, no rush—just warmth. It was tender and sweet, like they had all the time in the world. Katsuki’s fingers tightened on Izuku’s jaw, holding him steady—not wanting to let go. 

Izuku’s hands curled gently into Katsuki’s shirt as he melted into the kiss. Their lips moved slowly, heads tilting to deepen it.

Katsuki pulled away just enough to look Izuku in the eyes, allowing for the two of them to catch their breath. His thumb was still gently brushing lightly against the other cheek. 

Izuku stared at him with a loving look, his eyes glossy—almost as if he was about to cry. Tears welled up in his eyes, slowly tracing down his cheek. “Kacchan…”

Katsuki sighed—Izuku was so damn sappy. “Oi, quit crying,” he muttered quietly, one hand moving from Izuku’s jaw to his cheek, gently swiping away the fallen tears. His own face started to flush. Izuku was beautiful when he got like this—too beautiful, honestly. 

“Come on, let’s finish that damn movie.” His voice was quiet—it was obvious Katsuki was flustered now too. The kiss, Izuku’s crying, and his own feelings were starting to overwhelm him. He felt giddy, in a way—and it was starting to bother him. Katsuki pressed a quick kiss to Izuku’s temple before stepping away and walking over to his bed, climbing into it and patting the spot next to him—motioning for Izuku to join him.

They both situated themselves back in bed, Izuku curled up beside Katsuki, tucking his head under Katsuki’s chin like he belonged there. Katsuki’s arms were wrapped around him, holding him close to his chest—legs tangled with Izuku’s under the covers. The movie played quietly in the background.

“You’re such a sap, you know that?” Katsuki whispered, his hands rubbing gentle circles against Izuku’s skin. Izuku was calm now.

 “Yeah, but you like it though,” Izuku said playfully, smiling from ear to ear.

“Whatever. Watch your movie, nerd.”
