He's mine

Summary:

A new employee is trying to get close to Sang Zhi's husband

Work Text:

It started when Duan Jiaxu came home from work one night, spinning Sang Zhi from the stove to kiss her passionately. “Not that I’m complaining but what’s got into you?” She asked. He looked stressed. He sat down at the table and ran his hand through his hair. “Honey you can tell me.” Sang Zhi turned off the burners and kneeled in front of him. Her hands on his thighs. He played with her wedding ring.
“You know that new programmer I was telling you had issues with the code of conduct when she was hired?”
“The one who thought it was outdated to keep the male and female employees separate?”
He nodded, “I made it clear that it was for everyone's benefit. She seemed to let it go but lately she has been coming into my office alone, leaving little snacks and making inappropriate comments.” He looked her in the eyes, “You know I love you more than the air I breathe.”
“Of course I do.” She cupped his cheek, “You would never do anything to affect our family.”
“I just don’t know what to do. I mean I have been having Lu Mai in HR keeping record of her breaking company policy but It isn’t enough to fire her yet. I’m worried she could damage the company with rumors.”
“Well sister-in-law would tell us if anything made it to the news.” She kissed his hand, “ Just keep to the rules and turn her down. It’s all on camera. Has Lu Mai given her a written warning?”
“Yes, today. Made it clear that she needed to follow company policy or she would be terminated.”
“Good. Do what you need to do.” She stood up and pushed him back in the chair so she could sit in his lap. “Don’t stress too much about it. I know you are such a good person and all the evidence is going to be in your favor. I love you.” She hugged him tight for a minute before pulling back to kiss him. “Now go shower and get into some comfortable clothes. I’ll finish up dinner.”
She moved to get up but he pulled her back into his lap, “I love you so much. I’m eternally grateful for the family I have because of you. Because of the faith you have in me.”
“You make it easy.” She kissed him again before getting up and turning the burner back on to finish up dinner. The rest of the evening was calm but both were distracted. Sang Zhi was forming a plan to deal with this confused young woman.

Three days later Sang Zhi surprised Duan Jiaxu for lunch. She had the day off because her team had finished an ad campaign early and the client was beyond thrilled. So she had slept in, made lunch and dolled herself up. She didn’t go overboard but made sure that she would make a good impression. She had met almost everyone at her husband’s company except the newer employees. Way Lu was a receptionist that had been working for the company for four years and instantly smiled at Sang Zhi, “Mrs.Duan, it’s so good to see you! Does the boss know you're coming?”
“No, I wanted to surprise him. I brought him some lunch.” She wiggled the bag in her hand.
“They just finished a meeting about the new game so you have perfect timing. Do you want me to call or just go back?”
“I’ll just go and really surprise him. Glad to see you doing well.” She waved as she entered the main work area before walking up the stairs to Duan Jiaxu’s office. She was stepping around the corner when she saw the door close. She peeked through the window beside the door and saw a young woman walking up to Duan Jiaxu whose back was turned. She saw him start as the woman started to speak. He had obviously not heard her come in.

“Boss,”
“No come back with a buddy.” Duan Jiaxu pointed at the door while backing up slightly.
“That’s not fair.”
“It’s a rule and you know it. Leave.”
“You know that rule is antiquated. What’s wrong with a man and a woman being in an office together? I just want to talk about work.”
“If you don’t leave you will be fired and escorted out.”
“But…” She reached out to touch him.
“There is no but,” Sang Zhi walked in the room. “You signed a code of conduct when you were hired. Section one talks about males and females not being alone together in a room. You are to have a buddy with you when you go into the opposite sex’s office so there can be no rumors about impropriety. Section two says if you are rejected when flirting, you are to respect that choice and back off as to not create a bad working environment. I’m sure there are many more things to address but I think that covers what is happening now.”
“Who are you?” The woman glared.
Sang Zhi pointed to the wedding photo on the wall, when the other woman looked back at her with wide eyes, Sang Zhi flashed her ring, “I’m his wife.”
“I umm didn’t.”
“Don’t lie and say you didn’t know he was married. I know for a fact that that photo and many others have been in his office since the second he could print them,” She saw Duan Jiaxu blush out of the counter of her eye as she started to walk over to his desk. “He wears his wedding ring everyday and I’ve heard from other employees that when he leaves at night he always says ‘ Have a good night I’m off to see my wife.’” She set the food on the table before turning back around to look at her, "I'm sure you are a good person but I will make things clear to you. Your behavior is inappropriate. This is your final warning. The next time you break company rules will be your last working for this company. Everything is clearly documented so if you try to make up lies, you will be sued. No one looks kindly on someone trying to interfere with someone else's marriage.” The other woman had the good sense to look embarrassed. “I get it. He is good looking, clearly is a good person and has his own business. Total catch. However, he has been caught and a long time ago. You need to find your own person that will treat you well. You're a pretty young woman with a good job. Don’t ruin that for a fantasy that will never come true.”
“I’m sorry. I will work on bettering myself.” She bowed before hurrying out the door.
“You looked a little like your brother for a minute.” Daun Jiaxu joked, coming over to her. “Is that food I see?”
“You need to put a bell on your door so you don’t get surprised again.” She smacked his arm, “That’s for saying I looked like Sang Yan.” She moved to open up the food containers as he slid his arms around her waist.
“I love you.” he kissed the side of her head. “You look beautiful today.”
“Mhmm, come on and eat. I didn’t ask her too but I’m sure Way Lu has put calls on hold so we can eat in peace.”
When they were done Sang Zhi gave him a long kiss, “Think you can come home a little early tonight?”
Duan Jiaxu gulped at the look on his wife’s face, "I will do everything possible to be home earlier.”
“See you there.” She waved as she walked out the door.
