Chapter Text

“Remind me again why you're dragging me out to some low-key pub?” Yoongi drawled, feebly attempting to pull his hand from Jimin's grip.

“Because my friend is playing tonight and I want to go support him and no-one else was free.” Jimin spoke boldly, pushing the button at the crossing and turning to face his hyung, eyes wide and mouth pouting. Yoongi bit the inside of his cheek.

“Fine. Fine, but I'm only staying an hour.” He mumbled, the black haired boy making a happy sound before dragging him across the road. Yoongi spent the rest of the walk in his thoughts, drowning out Jimin's constant chatter in favour of thinking of what he could be doing instead right now. Like sleeping. Or making music. Or eating. Or reading. Or watching crappy re-runs on the t.v. Or maybe eve-

“Oh, Kookie!” Jimin's voice tore him from his thoughts, Yoongi snapping his eyes to the youngest. He scowled before turning to Jimin.

“I thought you said no-one was free.” He asked, voice sharp as the dancer flinched back a little bit. Jungkook laughed and stepped between them, waving his hand.

“I wasn't, last minute change of plan.” The younger grinned before heading back in, Jimin sending the elder a sheepish smile as they both followed.

“Hyung, what are you drinking?” Jungkook asked when they reached the bar.
“Double vodka and soda water.” Yoongi spoke, leaning against the bar as the bartender went to make his order. Jimin ordered a bright cocktail, playing with the umbrella when they got the table Jungkook had found. They all sat down, Yoongi's eyes drifting to the keyboard.

“Where's Taetae?” Jimin asked over his glass, Jungkook throwing a thumb over his shoulder. Yoongi spared a glance in that direction and froze. About four tables away, was a lean, tall boy with brown hair leaning over a table, talking to someone who he could only assume was his soundtech. Jimin yelled out a hello and the boy whipped his head round, smile immediately gracing his feature as he bounded over, wrapping the black haired dancer in a tight hug.

“Jiminie! I thought you said you couldn't come?” Yoongi blinked because he didn't expect such a deep, silky voice to leave his mouth. Jimin giggled.

“Well, I realised that I can study anytime, but seeing you sing is not an everyday thing.” He grinned, smiling at his friend. Taetae, Yoongi assumed that was him anyway, nodded before turning to the blonde boy, smile still present.

“You must be Yoongi?” He asked, holding out his hand. Yoongi placed his drink down and reached over to take it, marvelling briefly at the difference in skin tone. “I'm Taehyung.” Yoongi nodded in reply, eyes still drawn to their hands. When he finally looked up to Taehyung, he found the other already staring. Quickly letting go, he grabbed his glass in one hand, straw in the other and guided it to his mouth.

“I'm excited.” Jungkook said simply, eyes holding Taehyung's gaze in an almost gentle, concerned way. Taehyung nodded gently before turning to Jimin. The two hugged again, Yoongi noticed that Jimin had whispered something to Taehyung, making the taller squeeze him a little harder before he let go and moved to his keyboard. When Jimin sat back down, Yoongi leant over to him.
“Is something going on?” He asked, trying to keep his tone neutral, but he felt like something was wrong. Jungkook offered a sad shrug, Jimin turning to the eldest with a sigh.

“Taetae's had... A rough few months I guess...” He spun his cocktail umbrella about as he spoke. “He was in a relationship with this guy and he seemed lovely, like really caring and nice and sweet but about five months in, things started to change. Tae's phone would go straight to voicemail when they were together, he'd refuse to see me or anyone, eventually he just secluded himself in his apartment.” Jimin, blinked, eyes flickering to Yoongi who only nodded. “I know he stopped eating properly too, he's still trying to get better with that.” Yoongi looked over to Taehyung, eyes analysing his frame properly and noticed that the other was incredibly thin, but it was well hidden under his choice of clothing.

“When he finally got out of the relationship he'd lost a lot of his passion for things, this is the first time he's sung live in about three months now.” The youngest spoke, eyes never leaving Taehyung's frame and Yoongi realised how much these two cared for the boy. Yoongi could feel the blood racing around in his veins, angry at whoever this asshole was that messed up Taehyung's life. He may not know the kid, but nobody deserved that. He was calmed down rather suddenly by a soft piano melody filling the room, the chattering dimming to silence as everyone listened. Jimin watched his friend proudly, Jungkook watched him carefully and Yoongi watched him with amazement. The way his lithe fingers flew over the keys was almost beautiful and when the boy began to sing, Yoongi almost felt winded. His voice was phenomenal, emotions flooding from each note, eyes closed gently as he focused on binding himself with the music. Yoongi was speechless.

The first song finished and he smiled, Jimin and Jungkook clapping loudly, receiving a shy smile from the other as he moved his papers around, preparing to play his next song. Taehyung took a deep breath and began to play again, the melody soft and sad. Yoongi watched intently, noticing the boy tense up when he surveyed the crowd of people, his eyes widening in panic. Yoongi felt his heart tighten at the sight, hand coming up to make a gesture to the boy. Taehyung's eyes flickered to him and Yoongi pointed at his own eyes, mouthing for Taehyung to only look at him.

The brunette's fingers stumbled slightly over the keys, eyes wavering from Yoongi's eyes to the chair beside him, Jungkook and Jimin wore matching expressions of worry and hurt, before Taehyung suddenly righted himself, the melody flowing softly and his voice harmonising beautifully with the notes. Yoongi smiled gently, keeping eye contact with the taller, keeping his expression relaxed. A kid with this kind of talent doesn't deserve to feel worthless and scared of it, he deserves to be able to show it proudly to the world, and it was suddenly Yoongi's new goal to make sure that happened.

Taehyung played like that, eyes trained on Yoongi only, who would nod or smile to let the other know he was doing great. Taehyung would smile back. It was about eight songs in that Taehyung glanced to his two friends who watched him intently, having some kind of silent conversation. Jimin chewed on his bottom lip in worry, Jungkook nodding sadly. Taehyung nodded stiffly, hand settling back on the piano.

Yoongi noticed Jungkook's hand take a hold of Jimin, before drawing his eyes back to Taehyung, finding the others brown orbs waiting for him as opened his mouth slowly, fingers dancing along the keys. The tallers voice was softer this time, and Yoongi noticed how important this was to him, judging from the slight shake in his voice.

With a tearful voice,
Quietly I laugh,
My imagination struck,
By this colour palette.

Yoongi kept his silent promise, eyes never leaving Taehyungs as the other sang.

Please, distinguish me,
Colour me in,
Someone stop me,
Disappearing

Taehyung had closed his eyes at this point but Yoongi couldn't remove his eyes from him.

”I love you.” made gentle blue tears release
“Thank You.” Made a gentle red song ascend.

Taehyung had tears in his eyes when he looked back to Yoongi, desperately seeking strength as his breaths came out shakey through the mic. Yoongi nodded, smiling supportively, features softening.

Rising ultramine,
Spins around in my memories,
Entangling us within,
The future,
Became coloured.

The blonde had to fight back his own tears at this point, the emotion coming from the boy in front of him was intense. Sorrow and happiness, the feeling of being lost, destroyed and fixed all in one. The strength of the notes and the power behind his voice was memorising, beautiful.

”I love you.” Painted soft black memories,
“Thank you.” Spilled out a white kiss.

The last note was eerie, Yoongi shivering at how tremendously ethereal the other sounded. Taehyung got his breath back eyes scanning the crowd who all clapped for him, some even crying. Jimin was leaning his face into Jungkook's shoulder, sobbing gently as tears streamed silently down the youngers face. Yoongi stood up when Taehyung pulled his headphones off, announcing he was taking a break.

“That was beautiful.” Yoongi spoke, placing his hand gently on the others shoulder. Taehyung jumped before turning to him, a small smile sitting on his face as he moved his hands up to wipe his own eyes.
“T-thanks...” He mumbled before hugging the elder. Yoongi blinked, awkwardly wrapping his arms around him, petting his hair. Taehyung pulled back fast, laughing nervously before saying he needed a drink. Yoongi offered to pay. When Taehyung picked up his glass of white wine, Yoongi smiled.

“Honestly, that last song was wonderful.” He tried to convey his message, tried to tell him he loved it, that he could tell how personal that felt to the other and how much strength it must've taken for him to sing that, through his eyes and tone. Taehyung seemed to grasp it because his eyes sparkled in joy, mouth widening as he turned and made his way over to Jimin and Jungkook, Yoongi in tow.

“Kim Taehyung don't ever make me cry like that again!” Jimin scolded, ruffling his friends hair angrily, Taehyung just laughed. Jungkook threw a punch to his shoulder as Yoongi sat down. He watched the three talk, a smile gracing his lips as he sipped his drink. After ten minutes Taehyung downed his glass before standing back up, telling them his break was over before going back over to his keyboard. He played the second half of his set with a new found comfort, occasionally cracking jokes to his audience and asking them to sing along, smiling brightly when they complied.

When he was finished, he thanked the crowd for being an amazing audience and began to pack his things away, the trio drifting over to help. The guy he was with earlier came over too and began sliding bags over the speakers, all the while making light conversation with Jimin and Jungkook. When they were done packing everything away and loading it into the car, Taehyung gave Jimin and Jungkook a long hug, thanking them for coming to support him. He turned to Yoongi afterwards, hand coming to run over the back of his own neck.

“It was nice meeting you Yoongi, thank you for coming.” He smiled gently, honestly and Yoongi returned it, ruffling the taller's hair.

“No problem, I'm glad I did, you were amazing.” He spoke as he dug about in his pocket, pulling out his phone and unlocking it before handing it to the other. Taehyung eyed it curiously before Yoongi chuckled. “Put your number in. So I know when you're next playing.” He spoke casually and Taehyung lit up, immediately typing in his number under a new contact, sending himself a text. He went about adding Yoongi's number to his phone before handing the blonde back his own, thanking him again before jumping in the car with a last goodbye.

The trio watched the car drive away and Jimin nudged Yoongi's side.

“I thought you were only staying for an hour?”

Chapter 2: Chapter Two

Notes:

This story is becoming really messy, I hope you like dialogue

Chapter Text

When Taehyung got home that evening he spent a minute stood in his living room, staring down at his equipment. Sighing, he began putting it all away before picking up his keyboard and moving to his bedroom. Leaning the instrument against the wall, he sat on his bed and pulled out his phone.

He found a smile settling over his face as he re-read the texts from Kookie and Jiminie, things like “ You were amazing we're so proud Taetae!” or “You killed it tonight, as was expected really, you're the best singer I've ever heard!” Falling back on his bed he laughed gently. This was absurd really.

He didn't feel all that proud and happy, nor did he feel upset and disheartened. He just felt...Like something was missing. Rolling over, he grabbed his charger and plugged his phone in before running his hands through his hair and standing up. Once he made it to the bathroom, he stopped and watched his reflection, skin pulled slightly tight around his features, eyes encircled by purple rings. Dragging one hand over his face, Taehyung sighed in frustration. Getting ready for bed, he entered his room again and got changed. As his head hit the pillow, his phone buzzed.

Yoongi : 23:14:56
You were fantastic tonight. Thank you.

Taehyung grinned, soon falling asleep.

“Namjoon hurry up please.” Jin spoke as he climbed the stairs of the apartment block, Namjoon stumbling behind him, complaining.

“I'm trying.” He mumbled, cursing the fact the lift was broken. Jin just laughed as he turned onto the floor, walking a few steps before knocking on the door. Namjoon took a moment to lean against the wall.

The door opened a minute later, Jin smiling fondly at the sight of Taehyung, his hair ruffled and face slightly puffy. He only just woke up.

“Good morning.” The elder spoke softly as Taehyung smiled, stepping aside to let them in. Jin gave the younger a hug, which he gratefully returned. Namjoon was next.

“I'm really sorry we couldn't make it last night Tae.” He spoke sincerely, and Taehyung shook his head.

“It's okay, Jiminie and Kookie came, a friend of theirs came too.” Taehyung smiled, moving to the kitchen to grab some water. Jin nodded happily, Namjoon just throwing his arm over the youngers shoulder.

“I knew Jiminie would make time for you.” He beamed, making Taehyung laugh. Jin followed them into the kitchen, pulling out a plastic tub from his bag. Taehyung glanced at it and immediately grimaced. Jin shook his head.

“Taehyungie, you have to eat.” He spoke sternly as the other shook his head, lips pressed together in a tight line. Namjoon sighed and ruffled Taehyung's hair.

“Come on kid, just a little bit?” Namjoon spoke softly, Taehyung looked at him, then to Jin, then to the tub. He shook his head again.

“Not hungry. Put it in the fridge.” His tone was flat as he excused himself to his room to get ready for the day. Jins shoulders slumped in defeat as he did was suggested, storing the tub in the practically empty fridge. Namjoon placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder and shook his head.

“He'll get there Jin.” He spoke quietly as Jin turned to face him, taking a deep breath and nodding. He pushed the heels of his hands into his eyes to stop himself from crying and Namjoon pulled him into a hug. Both Namjoon and Jin knew the younger struggled to eat, it wasn't anything personal against them but, it still upset them both when he refused. They just wanted him to get better.

About ten minutes later, Taehyung walked out of his room, clad in torn light blue jeans and a black t-shirt, phone in his hand. Namjoon smiled at him.

“You got plans?” He asked carefully, Jin turning around too look too, both grinning. The youngest lifted his head and smiled.

“I didn't but, judging from those faces, now I do.” He grinned, watching as both Namjoon and Jin laughed. Taehyung pulled on his shoes and a jacket, grabbed his keys and led the other two out of his apartment. Namjoon and Jin walked either side of him as they walked down the steps, asking about the night before. Taehyung happily explained before he paused, an almost private smile gracing his lips. Namjoon raised an eyebrow.

“Well, Jiminie's friend, Yoongi, he was... Really supportive.” The singer spoke quietly and Jin smiled warmly at him, throwing an arm around his shoulder and squeezing. Namjoon blinked.

“Yoongi?” He asked, watching as Taehyung glanced to him with confused eyes.

“Do you know him Hyung?”The youngest spoke, tone slightly lost. Namjoon laughed in disbelief.

“Yeah, I met him about a month ago where I do under-ground rapping, he's crazy good. I didn't know he knew Jiminie though.” Taehyung lightened up at this knowledge, suddenly clinging to the older with sparkling eyes, demanding he take him with him next time. Jin watched fondly as Namjoon laughed and nearly tripped down the stairs.

That's exactly what Namjoon did. That saturday, he rang Taehyung and the younger gratefully excepted his invitation, agreeing to meet him at the venue at about 7. The singer had thought about texting Yoongi but he wanted to surprise him, he wanted it be like when Yoongi saw him perform for the first time. Taehyung was excited the whole day, constantly flapping his sleeves at Jimin's shoulders and trying to get Jungkook to carry him. The other two couldn't stop smiling. They loved it when the other was excited and happy, they'd give everything they had just to make sure this lasted.

“Joonie-Hyung!” Taehyung yelled, running up to the older and hugging him tightly. Namjoon stumbled back against the wall and wrapped his arms around the younger while smiling.

“Hey Tae, calm down a little bit yeah.” Namjoon let go of the singer as he took a step back, shaking his head at the box-shaped grin on the youngers face. The rapper led the younger down the stairs into the room and Taehyung whined about how warm it was, already wrapping his jacket around his waist. Namjoon ruffled his hair and led him to the side of a small stage.

“Stay here.” He said quickly as he walked away, Taehyung going to reach after him but huffing when the older had already got to far. Looking around, he saw the room begin to fill slowly, people coming in in groups of two or four. The singer found himself somewhere to sit and stretched his arms above his head.

“Taehyung?” He snapped his head back to look above him at the sound of his name, coming face to face with a very confused looking Yoongi. Taehyung grinned, turning around in his chair.

“Yoongi! Hi.” He waved, Yoongi nodding and blinking a few times.

“What are you doing here?” The older asked just as someone approached them, a glass of water being held to Taehyung. Yoongi looked to the side of him to see Namjoon grinning at him. Little shit.

“Hey Yoongi-hyung. How're you?” He asked, Yoongi made light talk with him, Taehyung observing them silently as he sipped at his water. After ten minutes someone came up to Yoongi and told him he was up next, Yoongi nodding and bidding his farewell to Namjoon, waving at Taehyung who waved back. Taehyung kept his glass pressed to his mouth, eyes following Yoongi's smaller frame as he stepped onto the stage, waiting for silence. Namjoon watched Taehyung's face light up when Yoongi began to rap. What surprised him though, was that he expected the younger to get excited, he expected him to grab his shirt and yell about how amazing the other was. But instead Taehyung sat there silently, small smile on his lips, barely blinking as he focused all of his attention on Yoongi. Yoongi occasionally looked their way too, eyes holding Taehyungs for a few seconds before he closed them again or moved elsewhere on the stage. Taehyung clapped when Yoongi was finished, placing his glass down and moving to the older.

“That was really good Yoongi-hyung.” He spoke happily and Yoongi smiled lightly at him. They moved back over to Namjoon who clapped Yoongi on the shoulder. The shorter huffed before waving Namjoon away, telling him he was up next. The taller rapper nodded, moving to the stage.

“I didn't know you knew Namjoon?” Yoongi asked the younger after he got his own drink. Taehyung nodded.

“Yeah, he's one of my closest friends, I met him at college. He'd helped me out a lot over the past few months.” The singer's voice drifted off leaving them in a comfortable silence. As Namjoon's rap began to fill the room, Yoongi watched Taehyung who was watching the rapper on stage with the same kind of awe Jungkook and Jimin had for him the other night. The blonde sipped his drink quietly.

When it was time to leave, Namjoon waved gently at Yoongi who waved back, smiling at Taehyung before turning around to walk away. He got about two steps down the road before he felt a hand grab his shoulder.

“You're really good at rapping Yoongi-hyung, I'm glad I got to see it.” Taehyung spoke as Yoongi looked back at him. He nodded gently and Taehyung pulled him into a brief hug before waving and running back to Namjoon, linking their arms together. Yoongi spent his walk home thinking about the younger. He'd noticed that the smiles and laughs and the energy were the youngers shield, his way of trying to convince the world he was fine. But when he was quiet, Yoongi could see the cracks in the younger and he wanted to fix them. He pulled out his phone when he got home, opening up Taehungs contact information.

Meet me for coffee tomorrow morning?

Chapter 3: Chapter Three

Summary:

Soooo, there's an in depth description of Tae's previous relationship ahead. Be warned

Chapter Text

Taehyung didn't check his phone before he got home. He was in bed scrolling through articles on a website when he checked his texts. He read the message from Yoongi over before smiling, rolling over onto his side.

I'd love too. There's a nice cafe opposite where I played, meet you there at 10? :)

Yoongi had agreed and was now waiting inside for the other, hands cradling a black ceramic cup with a plain coffee in it. When he saw Taehyung duck in through the door, he waved. The younger returned it before moving to the counter, eyes scanning the drinks menu. Once he'd placed his order and it was finished, he walked over to the older, Yoongi raising an eyebrow at the amount of cream sitting on the top of the cup. Taehyung giggled.

“I know I know. Jinnie-hyung always tells me off but, I really like whipped cream.” He spoke, shoving a spoonful of said cream into his mouth. Yoongi shook his head.

“Each to their own. That would make me sick, personally.” He half spoke into his cup, Taehyung humming in agreement. Taehyung filled the silence with stories of Namjoon and Jimin, claiming Yoongi could use them as black-mail.

“Honestly though, Jinnie-hyung was sooo mad with him. I would've been too. Who manages to knock a vase, picture frame and potted plant off a table before getting one arm into his jacket sleeve?” Taehyung laughed out, sipping at his hot chocolate. Yoongi laughed too. He knew Namjoon was a disaster, he'd learnt that when the other had tripped over a wire and successfully cut all the sound, but he didn't know it was that common.

“Hey, Taehyung?” Yoongi spoke softly when the younger had finished telling him a story about Jungkook running away from the till at a shop because the guy scared him. Taehyung blinked at him and nodded for him too continue. “I don't want to pry but. Jimin and Jungkook told me you...” He paused, pulling his bottom lip into his mouth. Was it really okay to ask about this? Would Taehyung get offended?

Taehyung sighed gently, shaking his head lightly. “You mean the past few months for me?” He asked quietly, Yoongi nodding guiltily in answer. A sad smile graced Taehyungs features as he finished his drink, left hand coming down to drum out random rhythms on the table. Yoongi was about to apologise before Taehyung started speaking.

“It's okay to ask I guess. They all say I should talk to someone new about it, get an opinion from someone who wasn't involved. I'm sure they meant professionals but... If you want too know...I can try?” The singer spoke, eyes focusing on Yoongi's hands. Yoongi nodded slowly, taking a deep breath.

“Only if you're ready and want too Taehyung, I won't force you too.” He reached out, taking a hold of the others hand. Taehyung blinked up at him and gripped Yoongi's hand tighter.

“Like I said, I can try. But... Can we go somewhere quieter?”

They ended up walking to a park, adventuring into the tree line before Taehyung stopped and sat down on a fallen tree, Yoongi sitting beside him. There was a silence before Taehyung took a deep breath, taking a hold of the olders hand again, eyes focused on a leaf on the floor, Yoongi turned to him anyway, gently rubbing his thumb over the back of Taehyung's hand.

“So, I'm guessing they told you that I was in a... bad relationship? It sounds weird saying that out loud. But, they're right. It was a terrible relationship. To begin with, it felt wonderful. I felt beautiful, loved and important. He took me out on a lot of fun dates, cinema, zoo, amusement park, fancy dinners, 3am runs for fast food, late night walks and talks under the stars. It felt real you know?” Taehyung paused, glancing at Yoongi who only nodded gently. The singer took a deep breath, looking up this time.

“I thought I was in love, madly, stupidly in love. But he started to change, I'm still not really sure if that was his intention from the start. The dinner dates started to become controlled, he would pick my meals for me, only let me drink water, telling me I had to watch my figure to stand beside him. I was so blind Yoongi-hyung, I believed it. Whenever I mentioned seeing Jiminie or Jungkook or Namjoon and Jinnie-hyung, he'd tell me I couldn't, he'd say they were bad for me, and that he already had something planned.” Taehyung's voice shook, tears filling his eyes as he leant his head on Yoongi's shoulder.

“I wouldn't say I believed that but, I obeyed him anyway. After about two weeks, I found myself stuck in the apartment, waiting for him to finish work. I was only allowed out to get to college. By that point, I'd lost a lot of weight, and I didn't even make it to college most days, my days all blurred into one. It was another two weeks after that that Jungkook turned up at my door, practically begging me to out with him. I declined, told him I was busy, I hid behind the door that time. I didn't want Kookie to see me like that, thin, frail, pale and weak. He tried once more before sighing in defeat and leaving, making me promise to call him if something happened.” Taehyung's voice shook and he stopped briefly, Yoongi wrapped an arm around him, his heart hurting for the boy. He was angry, upset and heartbroken. Taehyung took a few deep breaths, controlling his sobs before nodding into Yoongi's side.

“It was literally three minutes after Jungkook left that the door slammed open. I remember jumping in shock, I bashed my knee on the table. Before I could ask him what went wrong that day, he was in front of me, hand balled up in my shirt, spitting in my face while he asked why Kookie was there...” Taehyung sobbed, shaking his head frantically. Yoongi shushed him, turning them around on the tree so he could pull the younger against his chest. Taehyung shrunk back into him, hiding his face in Yoongi's arm as his body shook from sobs. They stayed like that for a few minutes, Taehyung eventually calmed down, working hard to steady his breathing, hiccups escaping his mouth. The blonde rapper held him tight, occasionally pressing kisses to the brunette's head, whispering that everything was gonna be okay.

“S-sorry Yoongi-hyung...I...I can't...” Taehyung choked out. Yoongi shook his head.

“It's fine. Taehyung you did well. I'm.... I'm so sorry that happened to you...” He spoke quietly, unable to find words. His heart hurt for the boy in his arms, his own tears falling silently. They sat like that for hours, Yoongi providing silent comfort for the younger as he cried periodically.

Yoongi walked Taehyung back to his apartment that night. Taehyung's hands shook as he tried to unlock the door, hand running through his hair in frustration before he got it on the fifth try. He stepped in and turned to Yoongi who smiled warmly at him.

“T-thanks Hyung... It... Means a lot to me. Really.” Taehyung whispered. Yoongi pulled the other into a tight hug.

“Anytime Tae. Get some rest okay. If you need anything, you have my number.” He pulled away, hands resting gently on the youngers shoulders as he looked into his eyes. “I mean it. I don't care if it's four in the afternoon or three in the morning, I'll be here if you need me.” Taehyung nodded feebly once, before biting his bottom lip. He hugged the older once more before saying goodbye, closing the door behind him. Yoongi waited for a few minutes before turning around and heading down the stairs.

He wanted to fix Taehyung, no matter what.

Chapter Text

“Jimin it's 9:45 am you better have a good reason for trying to break my door.” Yoongi yawned out, stretching his arms above his hand. Jimin just bounced on the balls of his feet, filled to the brim with energy.

“I do Hyung. My reason, is that me, Jungkook and Tae were all gonna go out today, but Tae extended the invite to three of his friends, so I'm extending the invite to you.” The black haired dancer spoke ,extending his arms to Yoongi to emphasize his point, the older staring at him. Jimin eventually dropped his arms to his side, mumbling out 'If you want too that is...'

“When?” Yoongi spoke bluntly, watching as Jimin grinned.

“Well, we have to be at the train station at 11 so, leave in about twenty minutes?” He spoke, Yoongi cursing at the younger before stepping back into his apartment to get ready. He was glad that he'd showered before bed as he washed his face and brushed his teeth. He threw on a denim button up and a pair of black jeans before heading back out. Jimin had already helped himself to the juice in his fridge. The older shook his head before pulling on a pair of white trainers and a black beanie, making his way too the door. When him and Jimin stepped onto the lift, Yoongi turned to look at him.

“What exactly are we doing?”

Taehyung stared at Jin and Namjoon as they walked hand in hand in front of him. It was cute really. They were perfect together and Taehyung always found comfort in their relationship, as weird as that sounded.

“Are you jealous Taetae?” A voice broke through his thoughts as an arm wrapped round his shoulder. The brunette turned to the side, smiling at Hoseok.

“Christ Hyung no, just.. admiring?” He laughed out, turning the corner and sprinting away from the older when he caught sight of Jungkook. Namjoon laughed as the singer threw himself at the youngest, causing him to topple over. Jin jogged over to help them up, amused smile playing on his lips.

“Taehyungie.” Jungkook whined. “Why can't you just announce your presence like a normal person?” Taehyung grinned at him, jumping onto his feet and letting Jin help the younger up.

“Because he's like a puppy.” Hoseok spoke, suddenly behind Taehyung. The brunette smiled and stood back, waving a hand between the two.

“Hoseokie-hyung, this is Jungkookie. Kookie, this is Hoseokie-hyung.” He bowed as the other two shook hands, exchanging greetings. Taehyung barely got to stand up before he was face first on the floor, Jimin nuzzling into his back.

“Taetaeee!!” The dancer squealed, the two laughing as they stood up. Taehyung gave Jimin a long hug, introducing him to Hoseok as well before noticing Yoongi. He stepped over to the shorter, waving gently.

“Hey Yoongi hyung...” He offered, Yoongi nodding in return. Jin soon rounded everybody up, introductions were made and they all bought their tickets. When they boarded their train, Jimin sat next to Jungkook, fighting over the window seat, Jin sat with Namjoon, both talking about a book one of them was reading, Hoseok sat in a single chair and Yoongi and Taehyung sat together, almost silently. When the train departed, Yoongi turned to the younger.

“Jimin never explained what we're doing?” Taehyung laughed.

“Well, we're gonna stop and get some food first, then we're heading to the zoo and if there's time, a quick trip around the amusement park.” Taehyung explained, counting off their plans on his fingers. Yoongi hummed in acknowledgement.

“And, who is Hoseok then?” Yoongi asked, attempting to make conversation. Taehyung smiled.

“He's a choreographer, he lives on the floor above me actually. I met him during... that time. And he was always so nice and supportive, he kept coming back even when I told him to stop and eventually, he just became a part of my life.” Yoongi smiled. He was glad he wasn't the only one who felt an urge to help out the younger. Taehyung soon leant over the chairs, eyes watching Jimin and Jungkook's phones, before plopping back down with a sigh, mumbling about how boring they were.

“Hey, Yoongi-hyung, do you have any of your own songs on your phone?” He asked, Yoongi jumping at the sudden question. He eyed Taehyung before nodding slowly.

He usually didn't show other people his music but, Taehyung had already shared a private part of himself, he should return it right? He pulled his phone out of his pocket, plugging in his headphones, handing one to Taehyung, thumb hovering over the play button.

“Just... before you listen to them. I don't... Usually show these ones to people so...” His voice trailed off, Taehyung nodding understandingly. The rapper took a deep breath and pressed play, listening to his own voice flood his hearing, hoping that Taehyung liked it. He chanced a look at the younger half way through the second song, pleased with the sight. Taehyung had his eyes gently closed, corners of his mouth turned up into a gentle smile, hands gently drumming out rhythms he'd picked up. They spent the rest of the journey like that, Taehyung eventually linking his pinky finger with Yoongi's, the older found it adorable.

When they exited the train, they all gathered together to find somewhere to eat. Namjoon was the first to find a small cafe down the road.

“Hoseokie-hyung, can you please tell Jungkook that strawberry milkshakes are better than chocolate ones?” Jimin whined. The older laughed as Jungkook shook his head.

“I'd love too but, I prefer vanilla.” Hoseok spoke, watching as both the boys faces fell, the three of them quickly entering an argument. Namjoon rolled his eyes.

“I should've guessed that they'd get along.” He spoke, the other three agreeing.

They entered the cafe and found a booth big enough for all of them, everyone but Taehyung eyeing a menu. Jin tried to tempt the younger but he shook his head, politely telling them he'd already eaten that morning. Everyone knew he was lying, but they all decided not to push it.

When their food came, everyone fell pretty silent, apart from the occasional compliment to their dish of choice. Taehyung sipped his smoothie slowly, chewing on the straw. Yoongi watched him before leaning over, fork in hand, a small chunk of pancake on the end. Taehyung blinked at the food, then at Yoongi.

“Atleast just try it kid.” Yoongi spoke gently, catching everyone's attention as they looked up. Taehyung didn't notice though, chewing on the inside of his mouth while Yoongi waved the fork around. After two minutes, Yoongi sighed, giving up before Taehyung grabbed his wrist and closed his eyes, mouth opening slightly. Yoongi smiled before shoving the food in the youngers mouth. Jin hid his face in Namjoon's shoulder. Jimin and Jungkook were staring wide-eyed while Hoseok watched with a smile.

It felt like forever before Taehyung swallowed and pulled away from the fork. Yoongi carried on eating, shooting a glance at everyone else to tell them to do the same. The singer placed the straw back in his mouth, nodding.

“Tastes good.” He spoke simply. They ate in silence after that, everyone sharing the same thought.

He's getting there.

“Yoongi-hyung you can't be tired!” Taehyung whined as they paid for their tickets to the zoo. Yoongi just yawned, nudging the younger.

“Well, I am. Jimin decided to wake me up at stupid o'clock.” Jimin smiled sheepishly at the sound of his own name. They all split up pretty soon, Jimin and Jungkook dragging Hoseok to the insect house, telling the older he'd love it. Jin and Namjoon went to see the aquatic animals. Taehyung just wanted to see everything, grabbing Yoongi's hand before he could say anything and dragging him to the reptile enclosure. Yoongi sighed, accepting his fate.

“Wahh! Hyung hyung! Come look at this.” Taehyung called, face pressed against the glass as he pointed at a snake. Yoongi came up behind him. The singer grinned at him before moving around the room more, sounds of awe leaving his mouth. Yoongi felt his phone buzz.

Namjoon 12:34:46
Sorry we left you with him. Just a heads up, he loves animals.

Yoongi snorted, glancing at the younger who was sat cross-legged in front of a bearded-dragon, asking what it's name was. Yoongi crouched down beside him.

“What are you doing?”

“I'm having a conversation. He's so cute Yoongi-hyung! Oh, bye-bye!” He waved, smiling as the lizard made it's way to the back of the cage. Yoongi shook his head as they both stood up, exiting the enclosure after another twenty minutes of Taehyung trying to befriend every animal in there.

Yoongi found he liked the others company an awful lot. He was more real with him. Of course, the singer still had his shields up, still had this air of never-ending energy around him, but there were times he'd be quiet, features soft as he took in the beauty of the nature around them. It was about half way around the zoo that Taehyung took a hold of Yoongi's hand.

“We're going tot he butterfly house next. I don't want one of them taking you.” Taehyung mumbled, the rapper laughing and squeezing the singers hand, silently telling him he wasn't going to go anywhere. Taehyung became just gentle smiles and laughs at this point, taking a picture of the older when a butterfly landed on his head.

The group all met up by the entrance at four, before heading into the giftshop. Jin and Jungkook got fridge magnets, Hoseok and Jimin got thermal cups, both claiming they needed a new one, Taehyung brought a keychain with a small lion on it, waving it about and announcing he'll never lose his keys while Namjoon brought nothing. Yoongi was the last out of the shop.

“Did you get anything hyung?” Jimin asked. Yoongi shook his head.

“Just dead tired. Can't keep up with you guys.” He answered and everyone turned to leave, Taehyung waiting for Yoongi as he linked their arms, walking slightly behind the rest.

“We can head back now if you are tired Hyung?” He whispered, Yoongi shaking his head, thanking the younger anyway. He wanted to go to the amusement park with the rest of them, with Taehyung. He realised when they were looking at the lions in the zoo, that this was a remedy for Taehyung.

Since his ex had taken him to one before, the experience was probably ruined for Taehyung. Yoongi was pretty sure that Jimin and Jungkook wanted to replace the memories that included the ex and made Taehyung's heart ache with happy ones, full of smiles and jokes and people who loved him. Yoongi wanted to make sure that happened too.

“Hey Taehyung.” Yoongi asked, Taehyung humming beside him. The paler dug his hand into his back pocket, pulling out a small bag. Taehyung accepted it.

“I thought you didn't get anything Hyung?” He asked, hands already opening the small paper bag. When he pulled out a small pin-badge in the shape of a bearded-dragon, his eyes lit up, arms encircling the shorter briefly.

“There. So he can stay your friend forever.” Yoongi spoke, Taehyung laughing and taking a hold of Yoongi's hand, thanking him.

Jin turned around to ask the other two if they wanted to get ice-cream before pausing, turning to Namjoon instead.

“I think Yoongi's good for him...” He spoke softly, causing everyone else to turn around and smile. Namjoon nodded as Jimin and Hoseok laughed lightly.

“I'll say..” Jungkook spoke, a small smile gracing his lips. Their Taehyungie was on the path to recovery.

Chapter Text

“Hey, Jinnie-hyung?” Taehyung asked once he'd reached the older's side. Jin turned to look at him and smiled, nodding for the younger to continue. Taehyung hugged him, burying his face in his shoulder. He took a deep breath.

They'd been walking around the amusement park, Jimin and Jungkook running off to every game that involved plastic guns or bows, each coming back with a new prize everytime. They'd all stopped at a small food court to find something to eat and Taehyung had watched everyone, hands cradling his juice bottle.

“Jinnie-hyung could you... Teach me how to cook...?” Taehyung mumbled into the taller's shirt. Jin gasped in surprise, quickly wrapping his arms around the younger, lifting him off the ground. The singer let out a yelp, directing everyone's attention to them.

“Of course I can Taetae!” Jin yelled, spinning him around once before placing him down, pulling away and smiling at him before bounding over to Namjoon who was busy trying to hit targets with a watergun. Jimin appeared beside Taehyung.

“What was that all about?” He asked, Yoongi stepping over too. Taehyung eyed them both before shrugging.

“I just asked him to tell Namjoon something...” He mumbled, quickly running over to a random queue. Yoongi and Jimin shared a look before laughing and going after the singer, Jungkook joining in. Taehyung grinned at them all when they arrived.

“Guys we should get Hoseok, look at the height of this thing!” He yelled, mischievous glint present in his eyes as he searched for the older. Once he saw him, him and Jungkook ran over to him.

“Hyyuunggg!” They both yelled, Hoseok turning around with an eyebrows raised.

“Why do I feel like my life is going to end?” He asked carefully, not trusting the wide grins on their faces.

“I hate every single one of you...” Hoseok groaned, hand pressed firmly to his mouth. Yoongi pat his shoulder as Jimin and Jungkook laughed. Taehyung jogged back over with water, sheepish smile on his face.

“Jinnie-hyung scolded me..” He giggled, handing over the bottle. Hoseok snatched it from him, mumbling out a 'good' before Jungkook and Jimin dragged him over to something else. Taehyung turned to Yoongi and smiled.

“Anything you wanna go on Hyung?” Taehyung asked and Yoongi looked over at him.

“Hmmm...” The rapper glanced around, eyes shimmering at the sight of the Drop Tower, grabbing the youngers hand and dragging him over without a word. Taehyung realised where they were going and his eyes widened, turning back to look at Jin and Namjoon who just laughed at his expression. When they reached the line, Taehyung tightened his grip on Yoongi's hand.

“Are you scared kid?” Yoongi teased, a smirk playing on his lips. Taehyung shook his head.

“No way Yoongi-hyung! Why would I be scared of a Drop Tower, pfft.” Taehyung mumbled as they approached the ride. Once they were in the seats with the safety bars around them Taehyung turned to Yoongi with wide eyes. As they began to move up, Yoongi looked over to the boy and sighed, holding his gaze.

“Oh my god guys, look.” Namjoon spoke once everyone had gathered together, pointing at the other two, Jin laughed, taking his phone out of his pocket to record.

“They look like a couple.” Jimin cooed as he watched the ride reach the top.

“Yoongi-hyung...” Taehyung whimpered, glancing down and immediately tensing. Yoongi laughed.

“We'll do this like before yeah, look at me.” He spoke gently. Taehyung barely managed to keep his eyes on the other as the ride dropped, a shrill yell leaving his mouth as Yoongi laughed in surprise. Taehyung wanted to close his eyes but he found them stuck to Yoongi's face, the other looking so happy and carefree as they plummeted down. When the ride slowed and the staff came along to help them out of the seats, Taehyung took off running to Namjoon.

“God that was terrifying!” He yelled, smushing his face into the older, hiding the smile that had crept onto his face. Everyone laughed.

The train journey home was quiet, everyone either asleep or listening to music. Taehyung had his headphones in, miming to the lyrics when Yoongi's head fell on his shoulder. He glanced down, smiling gently before looking back out the window.

When they got off the train, they all said goodbye, each leaving in groups. Jin and Namjoon went together, Hoseok leaving with Jimin and Jungkook, since the two had challenged him to a video game tournament. Yoongi walked with Taehyung.

“Hyung, you know you don't have to walk me home right?” The singer spoke, gently kicking a stone across the path. Yoongi nodded.

“Well yeah, but, I want too.” He said simply. They stayed silent after that, Taehyung texting Jin to find out when he was next free. They reached Taehyung's apartment block too fast, both standing silently in the lift. When they reached the singers door, he turned to the older, hands fidgeting with his sleeves.

“Did you maybe wanna come in?” Taehyung asked nervously, staring at the rappers shoes. Yoongi hummed.

“Sure, it's only 6:30 anyway.” He smiled. Taehyung nodding and turning around to unlock the door, closing it behind them and removing his shoes. Yoongi glanced around the small apartment, smiling at the sight. There was a coat wrack overflowing with jackets and jumpers, a small table with pictures of Taehyung and everyone and what Yoongi assumed was his family as well as a thin glass vase with a purple flower in it.

Taehyung moved to living room to sit down, Yoongi sitting on the small sofa beside him. The younger laughed nervously.

“I don't really have much to do here, but, I have a lot of films?” Yoongi nodding, a film sounded good. They spent the next twenty minutes digging through Taehyung's DVD's, Yoongi laughing at some of them present. They settled on an old martial arts film, Taehyung saying they were the most entertaining. They sat silently on the sofa, eyes trained on the screen before Taehyung leant on Yoongi's shoulder, curling up into a ball beside the older. Yoongi just wrapped his arm around him. It was about ten minutes later that Yoongi noticed the other was asleep, his breathing soft and even. He smiled warmly, re-adjusting their position a little bit so the younger was leaning against his chest, hand playing with his hair softly.

Yoongi fell asleep too.

Chapter Text

Taehyung woke up warm and a tiny bit uncomfortable, a small crick in his neck. He moved to sit up, pausing in his tired state as he registered the arm around him and the warm chest he was using as a pillow. He blinked a few times before peeking up and seeing Yoongi, still sleeping peacefully underneath him. The singer tried to move once more before realising that the older had an iron grip, deciding it was better to stay still rather than struggle and wake him up. He closed his eyes and let his thoughts travel.

There was a voice in the back of his head, telling him this wasn't right, telling him to panic, to scream and cry. But, he didn't feel the need to do that. He felt comfortable, content, happy and safe. Something about Yoongi made Taehyung feel safe, made him feel like he could piece together his life. Something about Yoongi gave Taehyung strength. Yoongi's presence itself made Taehyung feel alive, like he was worth something, made him feel happy.

Taehyung shook his head gently, cheeks flushing a light shade of pink. He was acting like a high-schooler with their first crush. The singer sighed, carefully pulling his phone out of his pocket, opening up his conversations.

Jinnie-Hyung 8:45:24
Hey Taetae, only just saw your message, I'm free this evening if you want to come round? I'm so excited that you want to learn how to cook!!!

Taehyung smiled. He knew that it would make Jin happy that he was showing an interest in food in some way. And he was sick of not being able to eat. It's not that he didn't want too, it annoyed him to the point he felt angry that he couldn't. While he was replying to Jimin, who was asking for blackmail material on Hoseok, he felt Yoongi shift. Turning his head slightly, he smiled warmly at the older, who was blinking frantically, face scrunched up. The brunette was about to say something to him when Yoongi groaned, closing his eyes tight and waving his free hand, mumbling that he wanted five more minutes. Taehyung couldn't help but laugh.

“Yoongi-hhyyuuunnngg, I need to pee though...” He whined, a teasing smile at his lips. Yoongi opened one eye to look at him and made a small sound of annoyance in the back of his throat.

“Go piss then.” His voice was rough from sleep and Taehyung paused, wondering why that sounded so nice to him. The singer poked at the arm around his waist.

“I can't, you're holding me down...” He mumbled, Yoongi stiffening a little behind him before flexing said arm.

“Oh... So I am...” The blonde murmured, slowly moving his arm from the younger. Taehyung giggled and got up, making his way to his bathroom as Yoongi started to wake up.

The rapper watched the younger turn the corner, his eyes widening slowly as his brain began to wake up. He fell asleep holding the younger, even trapped him when he woke up. He felt terrible.

“Shit..” Yoongi ran his hand through his hair. He wanted to be a safe place for the younger, he wanted to be someone he could come to and trust and he probably ruined that just now. He was broken out of his thoughts by the younger coming back into the room, his fringe slightly damp, indicating he'd watched his face.

“Morning Yoongi-hyung.” He spoke cheerfully, and Yoongi's heart swelled in guilt. He stood up from the sofa, stretching his back, avoiding the singers gaze. Taehyung made his way to the kitchen. “Do you want something to drink? I have water, juice, tea or coffee?”

“I um... I'm sorry Taehyung.” Yoongi spoke, watching as the younger poked his head out of the kitchen, eyebrows drawn together.

“For what Hyung?” The brunette blinked. Yoongi took a deep breath before meeting his gaze, hands gripping the bottom of his shirt.

“Just... I should've thought about how you'd feel. God that must've been weird, waking up with me holding you down. I'm sorry if I scared you or ma-” He was broken off as Taehyung strode across the room, pulling the shorter into a hug, shaking his head frantically.

“I wasn't scared Hyung. There was a part of my brain telling me to be scared, to freak out or scream but, it never happened.” Taehyung spoke carefully, letting out a breath as the older relaxed slightly in his hold, returning the embrace. There was silence between them for a while.

“Coffee would be great, Tae.”

Taehyung knocked on the door in front of him, rocking on his feet as he waited. He'd spent the morning with Yoongi, just lounging around his apartment until Yoongi announced he needed to leave and get ready for work. They had said their goodbye's at the door, smiling as they each waved.

The singer then spent his afternoon sat on his bed, pillow in his lap as he scribbled lyrics into a notebook, pulling out his keyboard to play around with rhythms.

The door opened and Taehyung was met with Jin smiling widely at him.

“Taetae! Hi.” He spoke as they hugged, Taehyung quickly removing his shoes and jacket before heading into the apartment.

“Hi Hyung. Is Joonie-hyung here?” He asked cautiously. It's not that he didn't want Namjoon to know, he didn't mind if the older knew but, he wasn't ready for anyone other than Jin to see it physically. Jin shook his head, leading the younger into the kitchen.

“Nah, he went out about twenty minutes ago, he wanted inspiration.” Jin spoke fondly and Taehyung nodded before his eyes fell on the side set up with ingredients. The brunette blinked a few times before nodding, Jin placing an apron over his head and tying it up. “We're gonna start simple. I'm going to show you how to make a stir fry.” The older finished tying up his own apron and Taehyung nodded, a small smile spreading over his mouth.

“Ah, Jinnie-hyung...” Taehyung spoke, lips in a pout. They'd been prepping all the ingredients for a while, Jin showing the younger how to cut things up properly. The older made a humming sound as he continued to cut up the spring onions. Taehyung turned to him. “I cut myself..” He spoke almost blankly, watching the blood ooze from the cut. Jin's head whipped round, his hand suddenly encasing the youngers and holding it under the tap.

“Are you okay? Does it hurt?” He asked frantically, eyes glistening with worry. Taehyung shook his head, letting the older know it just stung a little. Once the taller was sure that it was clean enough, he placed a plaster on the cut before kissing the area gently. Taehyung giggled. Jin always kissed his injuries and whispered for them to get better.

“Thanks hyung.” The singer smiled, Jin telling him to not cut up anything for the time being, Taehyung agreed.

When the food was ready, Taehyung made three servings, one smaller than the other two. Jin smiled proudly.

“It looks great Taetae.” He threw an arm around the youngers shoulder and Taehyung smiled up at him in thanks. Jin soon began to eat his portion as Taehyung moved his fork around his plate, eventually closing his eyes and shoving a forkful into his mouth. He swallowed it carefully, opening his eyes to see Jin watching him, face alight with admiration.

The singer had a few more mouthfuls before declaring he was full and thanking Jin for helping him. He hugged the older goodbye before heading back to his apartment, hands deep in his pockets and headphones in his ears. He stopped at a bench half way home, taking in his surroundings. Taehyung felt a dull ache in his heart as he looked to the small tree to his right.

“What the fuck was that stupid kid doing here anyway?” Taehyung recoiled from the older yelling at him, face scrunching up as he felt spit land on his cheek. He shrugged weakly.

“He just.. He just came by to ask if I was free.. I told him no...” Taehyung spoke quietly, a yelp leaving his lips as he hit the wall behind him. His boyfriend moved closer, hand gripping his hip painfully.

“I thought you told them not to bother with you anymore.” He spoke low and quiet, making Taehyung's eyes well up with tears, frame shaking from fear. The singer shook his head, hand coming up to try and pry the others off of him. The taller just laughed, pushing him against the wall before letting him fall. “I can't believe you Tae. I'm trying to do what's best for us here and you're not even accepting it. Do you even care about us anymore, Taehyungie?” He asked as Taehyung looked up at him. If the singer was honest, he felt like he was going to be sick, he felt disgusted and broken and terrified.

“I...It's not that, you know it's not that just....” He took a deep breath, pulling himself into a standing position. “Why can't I see Jiminie or Kookie?” Taehyung didn't even get a chance to look his boyfriend in the eyes, a fist colliding with his cheek before he met the floor for the second time that evening.

“Why do you want to see them so bad? They don't give a shit about you, they probably keep you around so they look better.” Taehyung felt his tears stream freely, hand coming to hold his cheek as he heard the bedroom door slam. He was shocked. He knew that his boyfriend could get loud, could get aggressive but he'd never, ever hit him before. Adrenaline pumping through his veins, he ran from the apartment, not caring about the rain outside, not caring about the fact he was running bare foot down the road. He ran until he tripped, yelping as he hit the floor.

The brunette pulled himself up onto the bench beside him and curled up, letting his sobs wrack his body.

Taehyung pushed his hands into his eyes, standing up on shakey legs and letting his feet carry him wherever. His heart hurt and he felt dizzy.

“You're a fucking idiot Kim Taehyung.” He mumbled to himself.

It was about three hours later that the brunette made his way home, falling to his knees as he barely managed to shut the door. His heart had slowed down a little, but he was still encased in a cold sweat, his stomach threatening to spill any second. With shakey hands, he reached for his phone, thumb hovering over Jimin's contact information. Taehyung stared at the name for what felt like forever before scrolling and clicking a different contact.

“Yoongi-hyung...” The singer whimpered down the phone.

Chapter Text

Yoongi hadn't checked the caller ID when he answered. He was ready to verbally tear whoever the hell thought it was a good idea to wake him up at one in the morning a new one, but that soon disappeared when he heard the voice on the other line.

“Tae?” He asked carefully, slowly sitting up in his bed. The other end was silent, bar a few sobs, for a while. Yoongi ran a hand through his hair. “Tae what's up?” The blonde couldn't keep the worry out of his voice as he made his way out of the bed and to the kitchen, filling a glass with water. The younger was still silent, Yoongi only knew he was still there by the rough breathing.

“I'm so fucking stupid Yoongi-hyung.” Taehyung spoke with such finality that Yoongi jumped. His hands shook as he took in the youngers words, shaking his head to himself.

“What? You're not stupid Tae, what happened?” He asked, trying to keep his voice steady. There was a dry laugh on the other end.

“I'm sat in front of my door sobbing over my ex and fuck. Thinking about it, I must be a freaking idiot.” Yoongi had moved to his entry hall, pulling on his jacket and shoes.

“Tae stay there, I'm coming over okay?” He listened for any reply, a small, broken yes reaching his ears.

Taehyung jumped away from the door when the doorbell rang. He stared at the door handle with wide eyes, hands clutching his phone tight. He told Yoongi to hang up, he didn't want to just sob down the phone.

“Tae, it's just me.” Yoongi called out softly and Taehyung immediately moved to open it, heart rate slowing ever so slightly at the sight of the male. The singer immediately pulled the other into his apartment, closing his front door with his body.

“I'm really sorry Hyung, god it's like two in the morning and I made you come here and oh m-” He was cut of by Yoongi taking hold of his hand gently, shaking his head.

“Hey hey calm down it's okay, I don't mind.” He whispered, watching as Taehyung's face relaxed slightly, the younger nodding. Yoongi led them into the front room, sitting them both down, wrapping his arms tight around the younger. Taehyung fisted his hands into his shirt. They stayed silent, Yoongi rubbing soothing circle into the youngers back.

After twenty minutes, Taehyung spoke.

“Hyung, can I ask you something?” Yoongi noticed the hesitant tone in the youngers voice and made a small hum in the back of his throat. The singer looked up at him. “What.... What do you think of me?”

The question took Yoongi by surprise, his eyes widening ever so slightly.

“I think... I think you're kind, sweet, caring, funny, unfortunate and broken. But I don't think the fact you've had a bad experience makes you less of a person. I think you're too hard on yourself, I think you're scared. But I also think you are definitely strong enough to over come this. I think you're loved by so many people and I think you need to learn how to accept that again.” Taehyung's eyes had filled with tears again as he buried his face into the older's chest. Yoongi started to play with his hair, blinking tears from his own eyes.

Taehyung was so fragile, the blonde held him carefully, butterfly light touches and whispered words of comfort. After an hour, the younger sat up slowly, nodding carefully.

“Thank you.” The words were simple, but Yoongi could see the glimmer of hope in Taehyung's eyes, the ghost of a smile on his lips, could almost see a part of his heart piecing itself together again. He smiled and pulled the singer in for a brief hug, a yawn escaping his mouth. Taehyung giggled.

“Do you want me to stay here with you?” Yoongi asked. Taehyung bit his bottom lip, nodding slightly. Yoongi just smiled and stood up, asking where the spare blankets were.

“You... Could you stay in my room?” Taehyung asked quietly, eyes watching the floor and a light blush on his face. Yoongi just laughed, agreeing. Taehyung led them to his bedroom, flicking the light on and sighing to himself when he saw the mess he'd left.

The blonde observed the notebooks and loose pieces of paper littering the room, the keyboard balanced on the bed, pens strewn everywhere. The sight made him feel at home, comfortable. Taehyung mumbled something before moving to gather it all up.

“I can finish putting it all away if you want to go get ready for bed?” Yoongi offered, to which Taehyung accepted gratefully and trudged off to his bathroom. The rapper continued to stack the pieces of paper, eyes landing on one hiding underneath the quilt. He picked it up, planning to put it on the pile with the rest of them, but his eyes scanned the lines instead.

The shadow of my past haunts me,
Leaves me scared, alone.
But you came into my life and I feel more alive,
There's vibrance to the colours I see when you're around.

You'd never know,
But I've trusted you with my glass heart,
I placed it in your hands as you held mine,
I'll follow you down this path.

People tell me things need time to develop,
But ever since our eyes met I've known you would mean so much to me,
Our time has been short yet I believe you when you tell me 'It will be alright.'
You make me feel safe.

You'd never know,
But I've trusted you with my glass heart,
I placed it in your hands as you held mine,
I'll follow you down this path.

I'm not sure I know what love is anymore but,
If I had to guess, it would be how you make me feel.

It would be the warmth that fills my heart when you smile at me,
The relief I feel when I hear your voice,
The safety I feel when you hold me,
The spark that runs through my body at a simple touch.

You'd never know,
But I've trusted you with my glass heart,
I placed it in your hands as you held mine,
I'll follow you down this path.

Yoongi blinked when he saw a drop of water land on the page, quickly rubbing his eyes when he realised they were his tears. He quickly moved the paper to the pile and sat on the edge of the bed. Taehyung came back in then, already changed for bed.

“Your turn Yoongi-hyung.” He spoke quietly, the blonde looking up to see the younger holding out a pair of shorts, a t-shirt and toothbrush. He smiled and moved to the bathroom himself. When he was back, the singer was already asleep.

The blonde led down beside the younger, slowly placing an arm around him. Yoongi had always prided himself on not being too self-absorbed or big headed. But what he read earlier, he felt like it was aimed at him. His heart felt happy, warm and a little scared.

He didn't sleep that night.

Chapter Text

When Taehyung woke up, he smiled immediately at the pale hand running through his hair.

“Morning.” Yoongi spoke gently, smiling as the younger nuzzled into his shoulder.

“Morning hyung.” Taehyung's voice was rough, deeper than usual in the mornings and Yoongi's eyes widened in appreciation. They stayed like that for a few minutes, before Taehyung crawled out of bed to find painkillers, he'd developed a headache from all the crying. Yoongi stayed in the room, sitting up in the bed. He'd spent the entire night thinking about the lyrics Taehyung had wrote. He'd decided he wouldn't ask him about them yet but to reply in his own way. He wasn't sure how yet, but he realised the younger had made a huge impact on his life, that he'd found a place in his heart. He wanted to care for the singer, he wanted to make him smile and help fix him.

When he finally entered the kitchen, he found Taehyung sat on the side, tablets in one hand, glass of water in the other. He raised an eyebrow at him.

“Don't like taking pills?” The rapper asked, Taehyung looking up at him and nodding. Yoongi laughed before making his way over, taking the tablets. “Say ah.” He spoke bluntly. The singer blinked a few times before doing as told, opening his mouth slowly. Yoongi wasted no time placing them in his mouth, moving the glass to the youngers lips and nodding. Taehyung drank half the glass in one gulp, before he started laughing. Yoongi laughed too.

“Wow. That's a new one.” The brunette spoke when he'd calmed down a little. Yoongi just shook his head. Taehyung looked around his kitchen and drew his bottom lip into his mouth, a habit Yoongi had noticed the younger had when he was nervous. “Well, I don't really have... Food here but. We could go somewhere for breakfast?”

“That sounds good, let me go get changed first.” Yoongi answered, smiling as he moved to the bedroom.

They'd stopped in a small cafe down the road, Yoongi had noticed and practically run when he saw the sign for freshly baked pastries. Taehyung had laughed as he walked behind him, smile on his face. When they got to the counter, Yoongi began scanning the pastry fridge, Taehyung reading over the coffee menu.

“So, I'll have just a large normal coffee and the raspberry croissant, he'll have a hot chocolate, extra cream.” Yoongi spoke, jabbing a thumb in Taehyungs direction before pulling out his wallet. The lady behind the counter put the order through and before Taehyung could give his share of the bill, Yoongi had paid.

“Thank you.” Taehyung said when they sat down, Yoongi waving his hand, quickly engrossing himself in his pastry. Taehyung watched as Yoongi ate, blinking a few times before nodding too himself. He scooped up some of the cream on the spoon, holding out to Yoongi, who eyed it before looking at Taehyung.

“Swap?” The brunette spoke simply, poking the air with the spoon. Yoongi stared for a few more seconds before smiling. God Taehyung was adorable. He nodded, breaking off a piece of the pastry, holding it out.
“On three? One, two, three!” Taehyung called, both of them leaning forward. When they pulled back, they made eye contact and laughed, Yoongi ducking his head and Taehyung's hand coming to his mouth. They both shared the same thought.

It's like a date.

Two more coffees later, they were walking aimlessly, hand in hand.

“So, the thing with Kookie is, you can't win. And it's not even like, he won't let you it's just, he's always right? It's so annoying!” Taehyung whined, kicking at a stone on the floor, Yoongi laughed.

“Yeah, I know that feeling. I'm pretty sure he's gifted with words.” Taehyung nodded, moving onto a story about him and Jimin getting thrown out of a shopping centre for running up the down escalator. Yoongi felt so happy, so content with the younger, always smiling and laughing and Taehyung felt the same.

“Whoa, you're still alive.” A voice drifted from behind them. Taehyung's sentence faded into nothing, his skin paling and his hand gripping Yoongi's with a strength the older never knew he had. The singer turned around slowly, Yoongi moving with him, to face the taller man in front of them and the rapper finally clicked, anger flooding his veins as he looked at the smug smile on the guys face. “Who's this, your rebound?” The guy sneered, Taehyung flinching back.

“No! He's a friend.” The singer spoke, voice shaking. The guy laughed, moving to ruffle Taehyung's hair. Yoongi stepped in the way, snarling.

“Don't you fucking touch him.” He grabbed his wrist and threw his arm back. Taehyung's ex raised an eyebrow, a smirk taking over his features.

“What you gonna do short-ass?” He stepped closer and Taehyung's heart sped up. He grabbed Yoongi's hand and tugged on it gently.

“Yoongi-hyung can we... Can we please just go?” He spoke quietly and the rapper immediately nodded, pulling the singer away. They didn't get very far before Taehyung's wrist was grabbed though.

“Honestly. You run away from me, threaten me with the police if I come anywhere near you, never explain what it was I did and now you're just going to leave again?” Taehyung whimpered, the anger in his ex's voice was so clear, so fierce that suddenly he felt tiny, pathetic and un-wanted all over again. He shook his head with the little strength he had, meeting Yoongi's eyes.

It felt like forever that he held his gaze, silent words travelling between them. Taehyung felt his heart rate return to normal, felt the strength flood back into his body, along with a confidence he never knew he had. He spun on his heel, surprising the other two present and glared.

“You wanna know what you fucking did? You degraded me, made me feel and act like a worthless piece of shit. You isolated me from my friends and my family, you killed my motivation for college, controlled me, used me. Hell, you wanna know why I ran that day? Because you spat in my face, told me that my friends see me as nothing but a tool and you punched me in the fucking face. And I decided that was enough. And how dare you call Yoongi a rebound.” He'd stepped closer to his ex at this point, hand fisted in his shirt. “There's nothing to rebound from. Our 'relationship' if you even want to call it that was a waste of time. When I think about it, really, there's nothing to rebound from. So get out of my life and don't ever speak to me or even look at me again.” The singer pushed the taller backwards, turning and walking away. Yoongi watched with wide eyes, quickly following after Taehyung.

“Are you okay?” He asked quickly, Taehyung turned to him and offered a weak smile.

“Yeah, yeah I'm fine.” The brunette replied. Yoongi grabbed his hand. They were silent from then on. Yoongi kept his eye on the younger.

They ended up at Yoongi's apartment, watching old re-runs on tv before Taehyung turned to him, tears in his eyes but a small smile on his face.

“You know. I think... I think that actually helped...” He mumbled quietly, Yoongi turning to look at him, eyes wide, before he smiled gently, opening his arms. Taehyung quickly snuggled into him and laughed gently. “I actually feel lighter, like, that lifted some kind of... I don't know, burden I guess, off me.” Yoongi nodded, squeezing the younger. He was proud of him. Because standing up to someone like that is hard, saying what you feel to someone who scares you is difficult but the younger had done it. The rapper patted the youngers shoulder, Taehyung glancing up at him.

“You know, I think this calls for an ice-cream date.”

Notes:

Okay fun fact, I have actually been thrown out of a shopping centre for running up the down escalator lmao.
But, asshole made an appearance, short lived but well, he got his ass handed to him omg.

Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

Notes:

Sooo, this one is short and just kind of, a filler I guess, Enjoy <3

Chapter Text

Taehyung thought Yoongi meant going somewhere for ice-cream. But when they stopped at a local convenience store, he smiled wide.

“What flavour do you want?” The rapper asked. Taehyung hummed before pointing out a caramel flavoured tub that Yoongi soon picked up, as well as a mint one. They walked back to Yoongi's apartment, quickly setting up on the floor with blankets and two spoons. Taehyung's eyes lit up when Yoongi wrapped them both up in a large blanket, sitting himself right beside the younger.

“If someone were to come in they'd just see a blanket heap and two sets of eyes.” Taehyung laughed, the rapper agreeing, the idea of Namjoon bursting into his apartment before shrieking filling his head. They ate silently, tangled together and sharing ice-cream, each lazily feeding the other.

After an hour the tubs and spoons were tossed to the side. Yoongi was sat in between Taehyung's legs while the singer played with his hair, the atmosphere was calm. When Taehyung phone buzzed, he begrudgingly moved around to dig it out from his pocket before his eyes widened.

“It's nearly ten, I gotta go home Hyung.” Taehyung whispered as the rapper nodded, both standing up. Yoongi walked to other to his door and watched as he put on his shoes.

“Are you gonna be alright?” He asked quietly. Taehyung paused before turning to face him with a smile.

“I'll be fine Yoongi-hyung. I... Really enjoyed today.” The singer spoke sincerely and Yoongi's heart fluttered.

“Me too.” They hugged goodbye and Taehyung left, Yoongi closing the door with a quiet whisper of I'm so proud of what you did today.

“You have to tell me everything.” Jimin spoke loudly as Taehyung tried to bury himself further into his bed. His best friend was having none of it, throwing himself on top of the singer. “You can't tell me that you ran into him last night and just not tell me Taehyungie!” The older whined, making Taehyung sigh.

“Okay okay... I was out with Yoongi-hyung yesterday.” At this Jimin sat up and watched his best friend mirror the action, motioning for him to go on. “We went out to a cafe for a late breakfast and then for a walk, that's when he turned up.” The singer clenched his hands into his blanket, closing his eyes for a few seconds.

“We argued. Yoongi-hyung dragged me away but he followed me and, he called Yoongi a rebound and acted all innocent and I just... Blew up in his face I guess?” Jimin's eyes widened before he smiled, throwing himself at his best friend, wrapping his arms around him and giggling. Taehyung hugged him back, soon joining in the laughter.

“So, basically, you kicked his ass! God I'm so proud Tae!” Jimin yelled, dragging Taehyung out of the bed. “We're going out! Go shower.”

Taehyung did as was told, showering and getting ready for the day. When he left his room thirty minutes later clad in dark blue faded jeans and a black t-shirt, Jungkook threw himself at him.

“You go Hyung!” He yelled, Taehyung looking over at Jimin with wide eyes.

“I told him to come. Let's go.” Jimin called as they all filed out of Tae's apartment.

“Where are we even going?” Taehyung asked, pressing the ground floor button on the elevator, smiling at Jungkook who was attached to his arm.

“Bowling, arcade, food, movie, roller-blading, your call Taetae, our treat!” The youngest yelled, pointing between himself and Jimin. Taehyung really wondered what he did to deserve such great friends. They ended up at a fast food restaurant, the three of them crowded onto one booth, arms linked as they fed each other, Taehyung gladly surprising the other two when he opened his mouth to take a fry.

Taehyung soon untangled himself when his phone buzzed, face lighting up immediately when eh read the text.

Yoongi-Hyung~ 11:42:36

Heya kid. How's your day going?

The singer sent a reply, fingers flying over the keyboard, letting the older know that he was out with Jimin and Jungkook.

“Your smile is real today Tae.” Jimin spoke fondly, meeting the youngers eyes. Taehyung blinked before nodding slowly, the realisations settling in.

He actually felt happy lately, he felt right, and, to an extent, he felt loved. He could feel his heart opening up to his friends, to his family. And especially to Yoongi. Jungkook nudged his side as his phone buzzed again, cooing at the light blush on his cheeks.

Yoongi-Hyung~ 11:46:23
Sounds fun. You free later? Namjoon and Jin are being all gross and coupley, I'm entirely sure they forgot I'm even here.

Taehyung laughed, covering his mouth with his hand. That sounded like something they would do. The trio soon left the fast food store in favour of a games arcade, Jimin immediately challenging Jungkook to a shooter game, Taehyung observing from the side with a smile on his face. He spent most of the time switching between watching his two best friends and replying to Yoongi. He never noticed Jungkook and Jimin sharing a sly smile, Jimin hastily pulling out his phone.

So he didn't suspect anything when the two said they were gonna go get some coins, innocently leaning against the wall.

“Did the kids ditch you?” A voice made Taehyung fly from the wall, hand clutched over his heart. Yoongi laughed out an apology and Taehyung immediately swung out his hand to swat the older's arm.

“Don't scare me like that Hyung I nearly died!” He whined, smiling when Yoongi just laughed harder. His phone buzzed in his slightly shakey hand and he looked down at it.

Kookie~ 13:55:35
We're really sorry Hyung!~ I ran out of money and Jimin's gotta go to a sudden (like really sudden like wow even I didn't know) dance practice. I hope you'll be okay!

Taehyung blinked at his phone a few times, realisation setting in slowly as he glanced back up to Yoongi who was tapping out an unheard rhythm on his leg.

“Did... Did Jimin or Jungkook tell you to come here...?” The singer spoke carefully, watching Yoongi meet his eyes and nod slowly. He handed his phone over and the rapper read the text with a blank expression before sighing.

“I'm going to kill them I swear.” He mumbled, putting Taehyung's phone back in his palm and running his hand through his hair. The singer just laughed, grabbing Yoongi's hand.

“Oh well, we're here now, let's make the most of it? Namjoon told me your good at basketball.” Taehyung challenged, leading the older to the score shooting games. Yoongi smirked.

“Well, he was right. Get ready to have your ass kicked Kid.”

Chapter Text

“I want a re-match!” Taehyung whined for the tenth time and Yoongi just sighed, rolling his shoulders.

“No way kid. You really want to lose eleven times?” He asked with a smirk present on his lips, Taehyung just pouting behind his hoodie sleeve. They'd just left the arcade, Yoongi deciding he'd done enough winning for now.

“Well, what to do we do now Yoongi?” Taehyung asked quietly, chewing on his hoodie sleeve and Yoongi had to pause because the younger looked adorable. He blinked a few times before shrugging, honestly not sure what else they could in the middle of the afternoon.

“Well you suck.” Taehyung mumbled, eyes glancing the street they were on before settling on a small music shop.

“Hey where are you going?” Yoongi asked as the other started running across the street, heart speeding up at the thought of the younger getting hit, feet immediately following the singer. When they both reached the other side safely, Yoongi grabbed Taehyungs arms and shook him roughly.

“Don't do that kid! You could've got hit!” He scolded, watching as Taehyung's face morphed into guilt and embarrassment, his fringe falling in front of his eyes a little as he nodded. The rapper just sighed, loosening his grip to smile gently.

“Sorry Yoongi-hyung...” Taehyung mumbled and the older pulled him into a brief hug, warning him to never do it again before dragging him into the small shop. Taehyung's mood lit up immediately as he moved to the counter, dinging the bell. Yoongi eyed the curtain fall open and smiled gently as he recognised the person who came through.

“Taetae! What're you doing here?” Hoseok asked, face breaking out into his signature smile as he leant over the counter to hug the singer. Taehyung returned the hug eagerly, bouncing on the balls of his feet when he pulled away.

“Hi Hyung! Do you have that new collection in yet?” The singer asked loudly, quickly bounding off inn the direction Hoseok pointed out. Yoongi watched him flick through CD's with a smile on his face before he caught the dancer beckoning to him from the corner of his eye. Approaching the counter cautiously, Yoongi watched as Hoseok leant forward, his eyes darkening.

“Yoongi-hyung right? You seem like a good guy and like everyone else, I believe you're good for Taetae. However, be careful with him okay?” Yoongi flinched as the dancer moved closer, mouth by his ear. “He's impressionable and naïve, if I find out you're taking advantage of him or messing with him in anyway, I can promise you that we won't be seeing eye to eye.”

Yoongi couldn't help but scoff, pulling away harshly, his eyes hard, arms folded. Hoseok watched him carefully before nodding, seemingly satisfied as he smiled again. Yoongi just turned on his heel, heading over to Taehyung who was sat cross legged on the floor holding two CD's.

“Which one should I get Yoongi-Hyung?” The singer asked, holding up a case in each hand, eyebrows drawn together in confusion. Any tension in Yoongi's body immediately vanished, his features relaxing as he crouched in front of the younger to analyse the albums. He pointed to the one in his right hand.

“I'd say this one, I prefer that artist and well, I have the other CD if you ever wanted to borrow it.” The rapper nodded at his own logic watching Taehyung light up as he put the other one down and ran to the counter, an echo of “Hobi-hyung I want this one!' bouncing off the shop walls.

After a stiff goodbye on Yoongi and Hoseok's part, the duo left the shop, Taehyung humming in thought about what they could do, Yoongi walking a little behind.

“Hey Yoongi-Hyung, I've got a question?” The rapper looked over to the younger, noticing his hands crossed behind his back and the way his legs kicked out a little when he walked.

“Yeah?” He couldn't place why but he felt a little nervous, not being able to see the other's face was a new experience for him. Taehyung hummed for a few seconds, kicking the ground rhythmically.

“It's more like a series of questions I guess. First, are you single?” Yoongi nearly choked, but responded with a hum instead, Taehyung nodding to himself, seemingly satisfied.

“Question two, what do you think of me?” Yoongi slowed his pace a little bit, heart beating fast. His answer had changed since last time and he had no idea how to tell the other those thoughts.

“I think...” I think you're strong and gorgeous and honestly the most beautiful person I've ever seen. You're incredibly unique and cute, so so talented and your voice is a literal gift, you are a literal gift. If I'm going to be honest with you, you're everything I want and everything I need, you're practically perfect for me and I think I might be falling in love with you. “I think you're wonderful, Taehyung. And I think....I think you're the best person I have ever met.” Yoongi felt his eyes water from frustration. Why couldn't he just be honest? Was it because of what Hoseok told him or just his natural inability to voice his feelings?

Taehyung had slowed to a stop before slowly turning on his heel, eyes wide and mouth open and when Yoongi met his eyes his heart stopped. He actually understood me...

“Well, that makes question three really easy then Yoongi-hyung because...” Taehyung took a deep breath, fiddling with his hoodie sleeve again. “Will you go out with me?”

Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

Summary:

So, this is kind of another fluffy filler sorry omg. I'm gonna try and wrap this fic up in the next two or so chapters! Enjoy!~ <3

Chapter Text

Yoongi froze in his spot, feet rooted to the floor, as time seemed to slow down. Taehyung looked up at him from under his eyelashes gently, fear running through his eyes so brightly that Yoongi felt his stomach turn.

It felt like forever that Yoongi watched Taehyung, and as the seconds ticked by, Taehyung felt himself panic more. Had he mis-read everything? He really was stupid huh, how could someone like Yoongi want to date him, what kind of thought was that?

“Sorry.” Was all that left his mouth before the singer was running the other direction, throat tight and eyes stinging from tears, heart hollow from pain.

Yoongi regained control of his limbs as he watched Taehyung's retreating back, his feet picking up a fast pace as he chased the other. When he got close enough, he threw himself at the youngers back, effectively throwing them both down to the ground. Taehyung whined and whimpered, murmuring small protests as Yoongi nuzzled into his back, not caring about the looks they were getting.

“Tae... Tae, don't run away from me again okay. I wasn't... I wasn't taking my time because I was disgusted or freaked out or angry... I was just.... Shocked...” He murmured, pulling himself and Taehyung up to their feet. Taehyung hid his face in his hood, hands clutching the material tightly as he waited for Yoongi to finish. The rapper took a deep breath, gently taking a hold of one of the singers hands.

“Yeah, I'll go out with you, Taehyung.”

“JIMINIE!” Taehyung yelled, slamming his best friends door open and barrelling into said apartment, messily removing his shoes and coat before colliding with Jimin.

“Taehyungie what the actual hell is going on?” Jimin asked, stepping back from his best friend with wide eyes. Taehyung bounced about, eyes wide and smile bright enough to light the whole building. Jungkook poked his head round the doorframe.
“Well, first off I hate both of you, setting me and Yoongi up like that,” He scolded lightly, jabbing a finger at the both of them. “Secondly, I love both of you, for setting me and Yoongi up like that.” He grinned, Jungkook raising an eyebrow and stepping out fully, Jimin holding a hand to his best friends forehead.

“You urh... You going to elaborate on that?” He asked carefully, mouth already pulling up at the corners. Jungkook giggled.

“You're dating aren't you?” He asked quietly, Taehyung nodding enthusiastically before clapping his hands together frantically and spinning about once. Jimin pulled his best friend into a tight hug, burying his face into his shoulder, both laughing when Jungkook crushed himself into it. They all laughed happily, finally pulling away to sit down.

“Hey, Joon-ah, I've got a question for you.” Yoongi asked carefully once he'd settled himself on one of the kitchen stools. Namjoon turned to face him and quirked an eyebrow. “So, like... How would you feel about me dating Tae?” The rapper asked quietly, jumping at the sound of Jin slamming his book shut in the living room. Namjoon eyed him thoughtfully, humming deeply, Jin soon entering and surprising Yoongi with a hug. Namjoon just laughed.

“I feel fine about that, Yoongi-hyung. So does Jin.” He gestured before turning back to the drinks. Jin pulled back and smiled happily.

“I definitely think it's brilliant, you're so good for him.” The older nodded to himself, skipping back to read his book. Yoongi felt his phone buzz.

TaeTae~ <3 17:54:17
Jiminie and Kookie are so happy!~ It's great, how did Joonie and Jin take it?

The rapper felt his mouth pull into a smile as he typed out his reply.

“Okay so, did you know that if you cut a worm directly in half, it will live as two worms instead of dying?” Taehyung whispered, eyes trained on the floor as he watched the insect attempt to bury itself back into the ground. Yoongi just blinked at him.

“We're not trying it Tae.” He spoke bluntly, watching as Taehyung stood up and turned around with a pout.

“Why not? How cool would it be to be the creator of a worm life?” The singer spoke happily as Yoongi just shook his head in disbelief.

“We'd probably end up killing it, it's got to be super precise otherwise you just end up being a worm murderer.” The rapper shrugged, laughing at the way Taehyung's eyes widened.

“Okay, we won't try, I don't' want to kill him.” He mumbled sadly, taking a hold of Yoongi's hand.

They'd decided to go for a walk along the riverbank, both needing some inspiration and an excuse to spend time with the other. Taehyung was skipping with a smile on his face while Yoongi just walked behind him, content.

When they stopped at a bench, Taehyung wriggled his way under the olders arm, happily snuggling into his side.

“Yoongi-hyung,” The singer spoke quietly, Yoongi humming. “You saw my lyrics didn't you?” Taehyung giggled at the way Yoongi stiffened, leaning up a little bit to plant a soft kiss on his cheek. “There were teardrops on it.” He shrugged.

“Sorry...” Yoongi spoke quietly, honestly feeling terrible for breaching the youngers privacy. Taehyung shook his head, pulling the piece of paper out of his pocket and sitting up, facing Yoongi.

“It's okay.” He beamed, unfolding it and opening his mouth. Yoongi felt his heart skip a beat as Taehyung's voice flooded his ears.

The shadow of my past haunts me,
Leaves me scared, alone.
But you came into my life and I feel more alive,
There's vibrance to the colours I see when you're around.

There was a new level of emotion in Taehyungs voice as he sang each word, the melody so soothing and fitting.

Taehyung had closed his eyes by this point, paper lying forgotten in his hand as he poured his feelings into his voice.

Yoongi rubbed his eyes frantically, cleaning up his tears. Taehyung took a deep breath before opening his eyes, smiling gently at the sight of Yoongi's glassy eyes and slightly red cheeks, pulling him into a hug.

“What do you think Hyung?” He asked softly, playing with the olders hair.

“It's... It's wonderful, Tae. I love it.” Yoongi mumbled, heart swelling with happiness.

Nobody had ever written him a song before, nobody had ever given him something so emotional, so deep, he'd never been the muse for that kind of power before. It was overwhelming and beautiful and he wondered exactly what he had done to be blessed with Kim Taehyung.

Chapter Text

“You're going to what?” Hoseok asked, mouth agape, dropping the spoon in his hand. Taehyung just grinned at him.

“I'm gonna re-enroll in college.” The singer giggled, reaching across the table to pick up the spoon. Hoseok stared for a few seconds, eyes wide and Taehyung thought he'd broken the older. “I m-mean...I really did w-want to do th-” He was cut off by Hoseok's arms wrapping around him in a bone-crushing hug and Taehyung felt his heart swell with warmth.

“That's brilliant Taetae, absolutely wonderful!” Hoseok pulled away and clapped, sitting back down for all of three seconds before he had the younger in his embrace again, ruffling his hair. Taehyung whined and laughed, struggling in the olders grip.

“Hoseok-hyung can you try not to kill my Taehyungie please?” Jimin spoke, sliding into the seat next to Taehyung. Hoseok laughed and pulled back, smiling at Jungkook as he sat down next to him.

“Why is he trying to kill you Hyung?” Jungkook asked and Taehyung snorted at the horrified look on Hoseok's face.

“I'm gonna re-enroll in college.” Taehyung spoke happily, yelping as Jimin pulled him into a headlock.

“I'm happy to hear that Taehyungie!” Jimin yelled, releasing his friend and smiling warmly at him. Taehyung returned it before turning to Jungkook who was smiling too, giving him the thumbs up.

“I was going to make you pay for breakfast but, since you just announced that I guess I will.” Jungkook said causing the other three to laugh as him and Jimin picked up a menu each. Taehyung grinned and went back to his coffee, leaning over to eye up Jimin's menu.

“If you're paying I'm getting the waffles.” He said proudly, blushing lightly when they all froze before smiling. Jungkook pulled his phone out his pocket, placing it upright on the table.

“Could you say that again please, so Joonie-hyung and Jin-hyung believe me when I tell them?” He spoke bluntly and Taehyung just laughed, repeating himself into the mic on the youngers phone.

It had been two weeks since Taehyung and Yoongi started dating and everyone could see a difference in the younger already. He was starting to get his natural skin tone back, the bags under his eyes decreasing by the day, his appetite was returning slowly but surely, as was his motivation. He'd already done three gigs and was scheduled for two more. Jimin had started crying when Taehyung asked if he could practice at his and get his opinion, Namjoon and Jin nearly fell over when Taehyung asked if he could stay for dinner, Jungkook had rooted himself to the spot and stared in amazement when Taehyung fell asleep beside him and Hoseok had spent ten minutes garbling nonsense when the singer asked if he could work part-time in his music shop.

“He really is a gift sent from heaven.” Jin murmured absent mindedly, eyes drawn to Yoongi pushing Taehyung on a swing set, Taehyung giggling loudly and Yoongi smiling adoringly. Namjoon glanced up from his notebook and nodded, taking ahold of the olders hand.

“Yeah, he is.” He mumbled, jumping slightly when the sound of Taehyung screeching reached his ears.

“Yoongi-hyung don't do that!” He yelled, hand clutched over his heart as Yoongi held the chains of the swing tight, laughing into his arm at the younger.

“You said you wanted to stop, so I stopped the swing.” The rapper shrugged, expertly avoiding the elbow thrown back at him. Taehyung stood up and turned to face him, pout slowly forming into a smirk. Yoongi backed up slowly, eyebrows drawn together.

“Taehyung.” He warned, eyes widening slightly as the younger leapt over the swing. Yoongi stumbled backwards as Taehyung gained on him, mumbling out apologies while Taehyung just stalked forwards, arms outstretched.

“Nuh-uh.” The singer spoke, voice teasing before he launched himself at the older, effectively flooring them both. Yoongi yelped, trying his hardest to get the younger off of him but ended up laughing too much as Taehyung yelled nonsense and giggled, grappling with the shorter on the grass. When they finally stopped, Taehyung flopped down beside the older, linking their hands together.

“That was fun.” The taller spoke cheerfully, chest heaving slightly and hair dishevelled. Yoongi manoeuvred himself so he was laying on his side, head propped up by his elbow, pressing light kisses to Taehyung's hands.

“Sure. Fun.” He spoke bluntly, eyes shimmering with affection as Taehyung laughed. They stayed like that for a while, admiring the other before they decided to get up, Jin scolding them both for ruining their clothes.

The first thing Yoongi saw when he entered the underground venue was the smirk plastered on Namjoon's face, it made him want to turn around and leave right then and there.

“Yoongi-hyung come over here!” Namjoon waved him over and Yoongi cursed under his breath but shuffled over anyway, pulling his hood off of his head. When he got closer, he flopped down on a chair and gaze Namjoon an expectant stare.

“What? I just wanted to say hi.” The younger mumbled, mouth set into a pout and Yoongi snorted, the look definitely did not suit the other.

“Sure you did.” He waved his hand, eyes flicking to the current rapper on stage before settling back on Namjoon.

“Okay not entirely just.... Don't kill me but, Tae's here again.” Namjoon spoke quietly and Yoongi's eyes widened a fraction.

Having Taehyung there when they were barely acquaintances was fine, but the thought of having Taehyung here, as his boyfriend, made him incredibly nervous and he didn't know why. He wasn't ashamed of his rapping nor did he think he was bad at it, but something about knowing that Taehyung would be watching him with those brown eyes, endless with affection, made his stomach fill with butterflies.

“Yoongi-Hyung!” A yell dragged him from his thoughts as a pair of long arms were wrapped around his shoulders, a warm chest pressed against his back. Namjoon would tell you he blushed if you asked what happened.

“Hey kid.” Yoongi spoke, poking at Taehyung's inner arm. “You been cutting up your shirts again?” He turned to look up at the tanned boy who just smiled sheepishly.

“Yes I have, it helps ventilation, which is incredibly useful in this place. It's so warm Hyung I'm gonna die!” He whined and Yoongi just rolled his eyes, patting the youngers arms. Taehyung soon removed himself and sat down, hands cradling his glass as Namjoon moved off to talk about his set with the sound tech, and Yoongi eyes drifted to the glass, eyebrows raising in question.

“It's vodka and lemonade.” Taehyung supplies, moving to the seat next to Yoongi and holding the straw to the olders mouth. The rapper thinks about it for a second before taking a sip and nodding happily, letting the double shot burn his throat lightly. Taehyung slid the straw between his lips again, chewing at it in between sips and Yoongi couldn't seem to tear his eyes away.

“Yoongi, it's your turn!” He vaguely hears Namjoon shout. Taehyung repeats the words with a smile and Yoongi sees them more than hears them, his head clouded with how much he wants to kiss the younger. Shaking his head, he stands with a smile.

“Good luck Hyung!” Taehyung calls out behind him and Yoongi's mouth pulls up at the corners. As he steps foot onto the stage, bowing in thanks at the assistant who handed him the mic, he watches Namjoon settle next to Taehyung. The younger smiles at Namjoon before turning to Yoongi, his face soft and happy, eyes glowing with anticipation and Yoongi takes a deep breath.

You wouldn't have known when we met
I didn't either
What we were setting ourselves up for, a journey that was bound to intertwine
Our eyes met once and I felt my heart tug
I never realised I needed to find you.

He looked in Taehyung's direction to find the younger watching him with wide eyes and he smirked.

You tried to keep strong
But it was only a matter of time before I saw it
The cracks and broken shards
The scars littering your heart.
I decided it didn't suit you
So I made it my mission to fix you.

He caught Namjoon holding the singers hand tight and he couldn't help but smile at the sight. Taehyung looked happily overwhelmed.

We spent more time together
Your smile became my light
Your laugh my drug
Your eyes my prison, not that I was complaining
I plan on staying locked up here my entire life.

Yoongi heaved a breath as he watched Taehyung rub his eyes with his sleeves, the chair he was sat on falling over at the speed he stood up. The crowd didn't matter anymore as Yoongi threw the mic at the assistant, hastily making his way off the stage to meet Taehyung in the middle. They crashed into each other, holding each other up with a a comforting strength. Yoongi quickly dragged the younger outside, both appreciating the cold air as they walked hand in hand back to Yoongi's apartment. They were silent, Taehyung still touched by Yoongi's rap and Yoongi suddenly feeling self-conscious, praying to every god that he had done a good enough job conveying even an ounce of his care for the younger.

“Yoongi-hyung...” Taehyung spoke after a while. Yoongi squeezed his hand, a motion to tell him to carry on. Taehyung sniffled. “I.. I don't actually know what to say. For once you've shut me up, stopped my brain from doing the words thing... But....I'm so happy, Yoongi-hyung.” Taehyung mumbled, frantically rubbing his free arm over his eyes. Yoongi stopped and turned to face the singer, gently wiping the tears off his face with a light smile, their eyes conveying words they couldn't say, but they understood each other perfectly.

If you were to ask Taehyung what he thought his life would be that night he performed for the first time in months, he would've forced a laugh and shrugged, made a joke about some crazy profession and expertly dodged the question entirely. But he realised now, that part of him was practically gone, he was 99% himself again, he was sure. And he couldn't believe his luck.

“I... I think I love you, Yoongi-hyung.” Taehyung mumbled and Yoongi blinked in surprise before pulling the younger into a soft kiss, lips lazily pressing together before pulling away only enough to talk.

“I think I love you too Taehyung.”

Notes:

So, we're at the end of this fic. I really hope you enjoyed it, and I'm sorry if the ending is a little bit messy, I'm not too great at ending fics and I didn't want to drag this one out soooo

But thank you so much for your comments and everything through-out, I love you~ (also the rap thing at the end was again written by me lmao, I've neevr tried to write rap lyrics before so)
