Chapter Text
Ingo and Emmet walk down one of the tunnels after receiving reports that one of the cameras is malfunctioning. They were meant to be clocked out by now, but since they are the Subway bosses… Well, they want to make sure that nothing too bad is going on.
They wish for everyone to be safe, after all.
The two brothers don’t even reach where the camera is before they see the problem. There’s a glowing spot in the air, growing and sparking some even as the twins watch. Ingo puts a hand to a poke ball even as he feels the hair on his neck raise up. Emmet gets his radio out, and winces as the device gives them feedback.
So they can’t even report back to the station. Emmet releases Eelektross as the hole opens even more, then there is a bright flash before something hits the ground with a thud. Ingo rubs his eyes from the flare then he looks towards where the hole had been.
It’s gone with no sign that it had been there at all. Ingo looks towards Emmet in confusion, but Emmet is looking towards the ground, still appearing tense. Ingo frowns, then follows Emmet’s line of sight.
Oh Reshiram, is that a person?
A groan seems to answer him, then the person moves to push himself up.
“Oh! Allow me to assist you!” Ingo says, and he goes to the stranger's side even as the man jerks his head up at Ingo’s voice.
Ingo carefully helps the other man up to his feet, and can see confusion on the stranger’s face.
“...Ingo?” The man asks, which makes Ingo stare back at the other. As far as he knows, he’s never met this man.
Emmet steps closer, getting the man’s attention. For a moment the man looks caught off guard, then he looks Emmet over slowly before returning his focus to Ingo with a frown.
“You uh…can let go now.” The man says.
Ingo gives a start, and draws away with an embarrassed flush.
“I apologize! I didn’t mean any offense!!” Ingo claims. The stranger shakes his head with a brief smile.
“How do you know Ingo?” Emmet asks bluntly. The stranger blinks then mutters something.
“It’s…a long story.” The man says. “I’m Andrew by the way.” The man finally introduces.
“I am Emmet.” Emmet states. “You will tell us how you know Ingo.”
“Emmet, be polite.” Ingo says in a scolding tone. Andrew looks between them with a smile, but there’s also something else there that Ingo can’t quite read.
“Sure thing.” Andrew says. “Maybe we should get out of this…” Andrew squints and looks around. “Tunnel first?”
Ingo and Emmet share a look. They're the only ones in the tunnel…for now.
“A more private setting might be in order.” Ingo says. Emmet sighs, clearly not pleased with having to wait for an explanation.
“Fine.” Emmet says, then he turns and starts walking.
Ingo shakes his head, and checks on Andrew before he follows his brother. He can hear when Andrew starts to walk, and he can’t help but wonder just where the man had come from.
