Work Text:
it's late, well past midnight as the two of you push through Hank's front door. you could barely keep your eyes open, so he had decided it was best for you to crash at his place. not that you ever complained, of course.
the second you kick your shoes off you let out a low hum, closing your eyes as you brace yourself against the small table beside the door. Hank tiredly appreciates the sight-- your tired body bent over a little.
he wordlessly comes up behind you, big hands snaking around your waist. one hand presses the coat against your upper stomach, the other pulls the zipper down your front. he slowly pulls your coat down your shoulders and arms, easing you back off your palms so he can slip your hands through the sleeves.
he hangs up your coat, along with his own before coming up behind you again. his calloused hands smooth over your hips as he comforts you from behind. heat emanates from his sturdy frame, the warmth soothes your bones as it soaks in through your skin.
you breathe against him, resting your head back against his shoulder. "let's go crash, shall we?" you hum in response, his thin lips pressing a line of tender kisses up the length of your shoulder. "you did so good today,"
your stomach flutters at his praise. "you better be careful, Anderson. we both know neither of us have the energy to go through with what comes from words said like that." you exhale. his warm hands smoothing up your stomach, before easing back down, then repeating the motion.
he nips at the base of your throat, humming along. you turn in his hold, looping your arms behind his neck as you pull him down for a kiss. he grins against your lips, he's always worn his exhaustion from the job better than you. having more than a few extra years on the job on you makes a world of difference.
"speak for yourself, honey. you know i could go day and night, no matter how tired." you swat at his chest, pushing away from the kiss. you know he could and absolutely would if you'd let him.
you lightly pull up against Hank, and he immediately follows your silent request as his thick hands grip the back of your thighs and lift you up. you smile, linking your legs behind his back.
"no matter how much i'd love to," Hank grins at your words, leaning down to nip at your throat again. you laugh, pushing his face away again with one hand. "after that thirty-something hour shift, i think you might be added to that pile of victims if i'm not in bed in the next ten minutes."
he chuckles, "don't threaten me with a good time, sweetheart." you shake your head, the motion interrupted as he leans in to steal one more kiss. you hum against his lips, soaking up his soothing body heat. he turns away from the door, slowly walking you towards the bedroom.
you pull away from the kiss, shaking your head with a breathless laugh. "you're insatiable, Anderson. absolutely and utterly insatiable." you adjust against him, resting your cheek against his shoulder.
he grins, pushing the bedroom door open with his foot. "very astute observation, you should think about becoming a detective." his grin reaches his eyes as he drops you down into the mattress. your body bounces back ever so slightly. "you'd excel at it, i'm sure."
you playfully thrash against his hold as he pulls your slacks down your thighs, laughing tiredly. "you are awful tonight," you pull your legs up to help him. you sit up, pulling your shirt off yourself. you lean back on your elbows as you watch Hank pull his clothes off, watching him reveal his sturdy, well-built frame to you.
he merely grins as he tosses his shirt in the direction of the laundry hamper. "awfully yours though," he kisses up your stomach and chest, wrapping an arm around your back as he pulls you close. you giggle against his onslaught of kisses as he lifts you up, your legs wrapping around his waist.
he pulls back the covers with one hand, then easily carries you further up the bed until you lay against the pillows. he pulls away for a second, lovesick eyes flitting across every twitch in your expression. you poke his chest, "you'd make an o-kay detective, at best."
he nods, tilting his head, "oh yeah?"
you nod in return, unlinking your legs from his waist. you replace them with one of your hands, smoothing down his toned, yet soft stomach. your other hand cups his stubbled jaw. "all you do is kinda state the obvious," you shrug playfully, though a yawn takes over before you can speak again.
Hank smiles, yawning too at the sight. "am i one of those victims yet?" he whispers, leaning down to capture your lips once more. the kiss is slow and sweet.
you pull away, stroking his cheek. "f'you don't lay down and hold me, you might still become one." you whisper back, blinking lazily.
Hank steals one last kiss, before settling down beside you. he pulls up the covers, letting you wrap your arms around his bare waist before letting them down again. he tangles his legs with yours, strong arms pulling you snuggly against his firm chest.
you yawn, before nuzzling against his chest. "that alarm better not go off in the morning." you mutter against him.
he smiles, yawning again as well. he turns over, pulling the plug to it. "wouldn't dream of it." he presses a tender kiss into your hair as he closes his eyes. "goodnight."
you smile, sleep tugging at your brain. "g'night.."
