Chapter Text

[INT. ??? - ??]

Modern Sonic falls into a room that can only be described as baren. Perfectly square, the room has white walls, grey wooden floors, and bare furniture. Two blue couches of different sizes that had some blank white pillows on either end of both of them, a one note black carpet laid out in the middle of the floor, a bar lined with blue bar stools that wrapped around a kitchen full of ingredients for chili dogs and drinks, as well as doors lining one of the walls that had two small labels one them and a singular door on the adjacent one that had a bathroom sign on it. A giant hamster wheel sat against the same wall the singular door was on.

Modern: AH! What the-?!

Modern quickly gains his bearings and manages to land on his feet before looking around.

Modern: This is… new…

A scream that sounds alarmingly similar to Modern's own is heard from above him. He quickly steps out of the way.

Boom: AAGHHH!

Boom lands right on his back in the middle of the rug.

Modern: Oh jeez, that looked like a nasty fall, here let me help you up!

Boom has yet to look at Modern, only looking around the two.

Boom: Thanks man, where are we?

Modern: No idea, I got here just before you did.

Modern looks up in shock has he finishes helping the other fully stand up. Boom is almost an entire head taller than him.

Modern: Wow! You’re tall!

Boom: Am I? Wait! Why do you look so much like me?!

Modern: You’ve never met another Sonic before?

Boom: Another me?! Wait, now that I think about it, I really shouldn’t be all that surprised, I’ve met other versions of pretty much all of my friends…

Modern: Yeah, this isn’t the first time this has happened to me either.

Boom: Wait, where I’m from, if there are two versions of the same person in one universe then it can cause a catastrophic anomaly!

Modern: Really? That’s never happened to me when I’ve met another Sonic?

Boom: If it does start happening then we will have some time to do something about it anyways, it’s pretty easy to tell ahead of time.

Modern: How?

Boom: Well-

Boom is suddenly interrupted by a loud thud hitting the floor behind them, they both turn around to see Classic, who had a rather harsh landing.

Modern: Classic?! Are you okay?

Boom: You know him?

Modern quickly zipped over to check and see if Classic is okay, yielding positive results.

Modern: Yeah man! This is my younger self! I call him Classic!

Classic hopped up with a spin dash and waved at Boom with a smirk. Boom returns the gesture and nods at the much smaller hedgehog.

Boom: Aren’t you a cute one?

Classic's ears perk up and his face turns red at the unexpected comment. He huffs and crosses his arms, looking away from Boom. Modern chuckles while Boom tilts his head in confusion.

Boom: Why isn’t he saying anything?

Modern: I was mute as a kid, struggled to speak up until I met Amy and Tails, still didn’t speak much up until WAY later though.

Boom makes a noncommittal noises of acknowledgement at that, while Classic nods to confirm what his older counterpart was saying was true.

Boom: Now we really could have a catastrophic anomaly happen.

Modern: Nah, when it came to us and the Time Eater situation, AND the war, we were completely fine. If anything, YOU would cause the anomaly.

Boom: Dang, wait… WAR? Time Eater?? What happened in your world?!

Modern and Classic look confused, Modern spoke as if those are completely normal situations where they come from.

Modern: What? Do you not have an Eggman in your world or something?

Boom: I do! But he’s never really attacked anywhere that wasn’t Hedgehog Village! Let alone cause a war!

Modern: Aren’t you lucky. The war wasn’t even the worst thing he’s done. That honor would go to something I can’t mention with Classic around, THAT could mess up the timeline.

Boom and Classic both look extremely concerned upon hearing that, but their worries are once again interrupted by another shout from above.

Prime: NOT AGAIN!!

The hedgehogs look up to see Prime fall flat on his face and stay there for a few moments. Modern helps pick him up after he sees that Prime won't make an attempt to, he drags the slightly shorter hedgehog to his feet.

Modern: Woah! Hey are you okay? You must’ve had the worst landing so far!

Prime: Ouch… It sure feels like it to-

Prime cuts himself off as he looks around, his mood swings into a panic.

Prime: NOT AGAIN! I THOUGHT THAT I DIDN’T HAVE COUNTERPARTS!!

Boom: Hey kid! It’s okay! You don’t have to worry about whatever the heck you’re talking about right now! We are other versions of you! Sonic!

Prime: Wait what? You know about that? I didn’t- None of the other variants were aware of who they are…

Modern: We aren’t in any way related to whatever you’re talking about, we promise.

Prime starts to look around at the other counterparts, slowly beginning to rid himself of his panic. He wipes himself off to gain his bearings, sighing and slowing his breathing. However, his calm didn't last long, as another thought came to his racing mind.

Prime: Wait! I left Shadow behind in the Shatterspaces! What if he thinks the worst?! I already screwed him over enough!

Boom: Wait? Shadow? You actually CARE about that Edgelord? Jeez, these worlds really are differen-

Prime: Don’t talk about Shadow that way! If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t know WHAT to do!

Boom seems surprised to hear that, guilt begins to adorn his features as he grips his arm with his adjacent hand.

Modern: Kid relax! It’s okay! I'm sure Shadow will be just fine! He IS the Ultimate Lifeform! He can take care of himself!

Modern places a comforting hand on Prime's shoulder, which Prime looked slightly reassured by. Boom's guilt was replaced with confusion.

Boom: Ultimate… Lifeform…? He’s not the Ultimate Lifeform in my universe? He’s just a weirdo who likes to dwell and brood in caves and occasionally try and fight me.

Modern and Prime look back at the taller hedgehog wit furrowed brows, meanwhile Classic was not paying attention to the conversation and instead assuring that Prime is okay after his panic.

Prime: In my world, Shadow makes it really well known…

Modern: Yeah, he talks about it every five minutes.

Boom simply shrugs, further stating that he had never heard Shadow refer to himself that way. Up until he turned his attention back to Prime.

Boom: Never mind Shadow, are you okay kid? That WAS a pretty nasty fall…

Prime nods and fully stood up, he nudges Modern and Classic away, but not unkindly.

Prime: Have any of you figured out what is happening here by the way? One minute I was trying to save my entire world, the next I’m in this strange white room with other versions of myself.

All of the other versions expressed their answers in the negative before another Sonic began his unruly descent towards the rest of them.

Archie: What now?!

Archie managed to land on his feet, looking especially annoyed about his new found predicament.

Modern: Hey man, what’s up with you?

Archie: Hey, another Zone problem? Where is Zonic?

Like, clockwork, both Zonic and another hedgehog who looked incredibly different from the others began their descent towards the ground. He's green, wearing a leather jacket, and has an uncharacteristically crude smirk on his face. Zonic was disheveled, his visor was slightly cracked, and he looked even more tired then Archie would have expected.

Zonic: Right here, unfortunately.

Scourge: I really did a number on you ‘Zone Cops’ didn’t I?

Archie: Zonic! Are you okay? What happened to you?

Without hesitation, Zonic points towards Scourge, who showed no signs of regret. He simply revealed and an more smug smirk without saying a word. He spots the bathroom and immediately walks up to it and slams the door. A faint locking sound is heard but no other sounds are made.

Zonic: He happened.

Archie: I’m gonna kick his-

Zonic quickly stops Archie in his tracks.

Zonic: Don’t. There is no point, even if you did I couldn’t put him back in Zone Jail where he belongs in my current state. Not to mention, he destroyed it.

Archie: HE WHAT?!

Zonic: Additionally, I have no idea what Zone we are in or why.

Archie: Wait, this wasn’t you?

Zonic: No. It wasn’t Scourge either, I imagine this is a social event or perhaps some trap set up by another version of Robotnik.

Boom: Who is Robotnik?

Zonic: That is the legal name of who you refer to as ‘Eggman’.

Boom: HIS REAL NAME IS ROBOTNIK??

Boom bust out into laughter.

Zonic: His first name is Ivo.

Boom began to wheeze, laughing even harder.

Archie: Why would Robotnik want more than one Sonic in one place? Wouldn’t that make his life harder?

Zonic: That’s why I am hesitant to believe this is his doing, as far as I can tell, we don’t seem to be in immediate danger, and if any threats come our way, we will be more than capable of handling it.

Archie and Modern both nod in agreement, then Boom turned to Zonic.

Boom: Who was that green guy? Do you both know him too?

Archie scowled while Zonic nodded in affirmation.

Zonic: That, believe it or not, IS a Sonic, but he refers to himself as Scourge the Hedgehog. He is attempting to make a new name for himself and separate himself from the identity of a Sonic.

Boom: Why would he want to do that? I’m awesome!

Zonic: I don’t think it’s something that I have enough knowledge about to tell accurately. Not only that, but he would probably be even more frustrated than being sent here against his will if I told you.

Boom wasn't satisfied with that answer, but chose not to pry based on the sour expression that was on Archie's face.

Zonic: Anyways, it seems like we are not going to be the last ones to arrive based on the amount of doors over there.

Zonic pointed at the wall that was lined with doors, drawing all of the hedgehog's attention to it. All of them approached the doors.

Modern: They have our names on them. Who are some of these though?

Zonic: I imagine they are based on the names of their Zones, but some of them seem to be their normal names. I recognize a few of these that aren’t here yet. Underground, King Arthur, X…

Modern: Wait, King Arthur?! I’ve been in that world! I was wondering where my counterpart was!

Zonic: Yes, after you left he was found by the Knights of the Round Table under a spell that locked him inside Dark King Arthur’s sword, he was released after Merlina was defeated but wasn’t found until later.

Modern nods in understanding, all of the others look confused, but don't question it.

Boom: When are they all gonna get here?

Just as Boom finished his question, they hear another yell. It sounded oddly different than the others.

Fleetway: BLOODY HELL! What is it now?!

Boom: Hey! You good man?

Boom reaches a hand down toward the smaller hedgehog, who isn't much taller than Classic. He has a scowl and a glare on his face.

Fleetway: Eugh, do I look okay to you? Have you gone blind or something?!

Boom: Woah chill, I’m just trying to help.

Fleetway: I don’t need help, string bean!

Fleetway harshly smacks Boom's hand away, scoffing.

Boom: Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something? What’s with the attitude?

Fleetway: None of your business! Where are we and why do you all look like me?

Zonic quickly darts over to Fleetway but not enough to invade his personal space.

Zonic: I’m going to have to ask you to calm down, you are already aware of why, we seem to all have been summoned to this place because of our status as versions of Sonic the Hedgehog. That is unfortunately all any of us know about this situation.

Fleetway: Thanks for the info, nerd. Any way we can get out of here? Have any of you tried to break the walls down or something? I need to get home before Robotnik tries to ruin my home again.

Zonic: The name calling wasn’t necessary, but none of us have attempted to leave yet, not all of us are here yet and I would like to know what the purpose of our presence is before we leave.

Fleetway: You talk too much, nerd. I’m leaving!

Fleetway attempts to spin dash into the nearest wall, but he is unable to make even a small crack in it.

Fleetway: Ugghh! I don’t have time for this!

Fleetway continues his assault on the wall for a short while before looking back at the other hedgehogs while he catches his breathe.

Fleetway: What in the hell are you all looking at?! Why are you just standing there?! Why are you not trying to leave?! I was in the middle of trying to-

Fleetway pauses, remembering what would happen if he wasn't in his world. He looks like he was already in another stressful battle with Robotnik based on the state of him.

Fleetway: If I don’t get back to my world right now then Robotnik could-

Fleetway's fur begins to slowly turn yellow and stand on ends. Zonic quickly rushes over to Fleetway to prevent his transformation into Super Sonic.

Zonic: Hey, Sonic, calm down, look at your fur.

Fleetway: Don’t tell me what to-

He sees his fur changing color and begins to panic, his scowl quickly fades from his face as his eyes dart around his changing body. The other hedgehogs look at the scene playing out, concerned. They make sure to keep their distance so Fleetway has space to calm down, as Zonic seems to know what he's doing.

Zonic: I know you don’t like being told what to do but I need you to listen to me. Take deep breaths and try to calm down, being angry won’t solve anything. For all we know time is not moving in our zones because of our removal. Relax.

Fleetway: What do you mean time isn’t moving?! What’s going on?!

Zonic: Don’t worry about it, I need you to focus on calming down, I will tell you how I know what’s going on with you after because you know what will happen if I tell you now. Don’t let Super take control, don’t let your anger define who you are. Just breathe.

Fleetway hesitantly follows Zonic's instructions, the others look on in even more concern, also silently questioning what Zonic means. Zonic looks back at the others and gestures for them to look away. Fleetway's fur slowly turns back to its normal color.

Fleetway: I’m not turning piss yellow anymore, care to explain why the HELL you know about that?

Zonic: I’m going to ask you to keep your temper under control while I explain.

Fleetway: Whatever, crayon box. What’s with the ridiculous outfit anyways?

Zonic: It is my uniform. I am Zonic the Zone Cop, responsible for the well being of all Sonic’s across every zone. I prevent zones from being destroyed or harmed by any version of Sonic that may be dangerous enough to do so.

Fleetway: Care to explain where the hell you’ve been then?! Super tried to-

Zonic: I’m very aware, but I have more than just your zone to deal with, right at that moment for you, another Sonic was in the middle of almost causing a rift in space time, it took priority because if that happened, it would have affected more than just one zone. Not to mention, you proved in the past that you are more than capable of dealing with Super on your own if necessary.

Fleetway grumbles but doesn't continue to question Zonic. The others simply look on awkwardly.

Archie: Wait, time rift? Which Sonic did that?

Zonic unexpectedly points toward Classic and Modern, who both perk up at the acknowledgement, Classic pins his ears as he realizes what they could have done while Modern avoids his gaze.

Modern: It was the Time Eater wasn’t it?

Zonic: No, it was the war, The Phantom Ruby being used by Classic to get to Modern’s world caused issues I didn’t anticipate, no worries kid, it was Robotnik’s fault, not yours. Though technically it was your presence that nearly caused the rift so I was put in charge of dealing with it.

Classic looks on apologetically despite being told it wasn't his fault. Zonic walks over to reassure the younger hedgehog and pats him on the head. To nobodies surprise, another shout comes from above just as Classic cheers up.

Movie: AAGHHH!

Modern quickly jumps to catch the other hedgehog and succeeds with ease. He holds the other in his arms, Movie is hardly paying attention and his eyes are instead darting around the room. The moment that Modern let's him down, his tail begins to wag like crazy and he runs around the room looking at the others.

Movie: Wow! Other me’s! You’re so tall! You’re so short and cute! What’s with the colorful outfit? Who does your quills? Why do you look so grumpy? What’s with the different gloves? Wh-

Modern: Hey kid, slow your role! One question at a time!

Movie: Oh sorry! It’s just, this is so exciting! It’s like Marvel! Other me’s! Just like in my comic books!

Zonic: So you’re familiar with this type of situation?

Movie: Uh, Yeah! Multiverses are some of my favorite kinds of stories! So what nicknames do we give each other so we don’t get confused? Or have y’all not got to that part yet?

Zonic: It’s already taken care of by our zone names.

Movie: Oh really?! What’s mine?

Zonic: You have been referred to as ‘Movie Sonic.’

Movie: Movie Sonic? Why Movie Sonic?

Zonic: I don’t make the names, I simply follow the rules, but I imagine your love of movies might play a role.

Movie: That makes sense! But do none of you watch TV or something?

Boom: I watch plenty of TV, but nothing is ever good. Comedy Chimp should really quit, so should Soar, but eh, I get to be on his show sometimes so he’s not as bad. Except for the time he set Amy’s cabin on fire and left me in the middle of the ocean and threw water at my face, but that’s hardly the worst that could have happened.

All of the others turn to Boom in questioning, with the only exception being Zonic, who already knows the story. Boom simply shrugs and the Movie continues the flow of the conversation after realizing that Boom is not going to elaborate.

Movie: What’s with all those rooms over there?

Prime: I think those are our rooms, not all of us know who we are yet though…

Zonic: Don’t worry, I know who everyone is and who they will be rooming with.

Movie: Who am I rooming with?! Whose my roomie?!

Zonic: He hasn’t arrived yet, but his code name is X.

Movie: Ooohh, Is he the dark and mysterious type?

Zonic: I suppose, but it is a stretch, he is another Sonic just like you and I. He’s a bit more on the quiet side though.

Movie is very surprised to hear that, but he isn't the only one as others look skeptical as well.

Movie: I didn’t think a version of ME could be quiet!

Zonic: He’s unique in that way.

Classic looks offended, as the most silent Sonic of all, he huffs and puffs out his cheeks.

Zonic: Sorry Classic, but you two are the only ones.

Zonic seems to be corrected by the sound of another Sonic falling. Modern still manages to catch him on reflex, but is alarmed by the small size of the child.

Nicky: Wh-What’s ha-happening?! Whe-Where am I?!

The kid begins to cry, terrified of the amount of strangers and sudden new location without his family. He was even younger than Classic, as well as smaller and wearing a terribly oversized red hoodie and thick black glasses that were fogging up because of the tears falling down his muzzle.

Zonic: I forgot about this one, his world is one I’ve never had to interfere with.

Fleetway: Oh joy, a crybaby.

Boom smacks Fleetway upside the head for the rude comment. Prime, knowing how panic attacks can feel, slowly approaches the young hedgehog and tries to calm him down. Zonic observes carefully to make sure he doesn't need to intervene.

Prime: Hey, it’s okay kid, you’re safe! I promise!

Nicky: I want my mom and dad! Where are they?! Did you kidnap me!?

Prime: No no! We are in the same boat you are, the same thing happened to all of us! We don’t know why we are here either…

Nicky takes off his foggy glasses, attempting to rub his eyes and hide his face after noticing he was now the center of attention.

Movie: Yeah! I just got here! Think of it like those comic books about the Multiverse! We are other versions of you! Sonic!

Nicky: S-Sonic? I’m not Sonic… My name is Nicky…

Fleetway: He’s joking… right? Look at yourself kid! You look like us but dorkier!

Nicky: B-but I can’t be Sonic! He’s a hero! Amy has seen him! My sister and dad have too!

Nicky seems distracted enough to stop letting tears flow, but his voice is still cracking and his breathe was still hitched.

Zonic: The kid isn’t lying, he technically isn’t Sonic, but Sonic does live in his body and takes over when needed, but Nicky never has any memory of it.

Nicky: WHAT?!

Nicky tears up again, trying to process the information. His breathe quickens once more and Prime hushes and tries his best to comfort the boy. Most of the others look on in sympathy at the poor kid's meltdown. They decide not to overcrowd him, as that could overwhelm him more. Boom tries to distract by thinking about what Nicky said for a moment. Then he perks up and questions the others.

Boom: That’s new, none of us have a sister as far as we know right?

Zonic: He isn’t the only one with a sister, but it is rather unique as most Sonic variants don’t have siblings or any living relatives.

Some of the hedgehogs look away at that, especially Movie.

Zonic: Apologies for any unwanted reminders, but we need to calm Nicky down before another Sonic arrives, because we don’t know who could be next one could be.

The others try their best, but Nicky doesn't come any closer to calming down. Another Sonic arrives while they continued to try and help. Thankfully nobody needed to catch him because he lands on his feet with grace, jingling bells, and a pep in his step.

Jester: Goodness!! Where have I stumbled into this time? Looks awfully-

Jester turns around and meets the gaze of all the other hedgehogs.

Jester:...

Jester: Have I truly jested one too many times to those who don’t hold me in high regard? Was I slain in my sleep?

Jester doesn't seem too surprised at the thought of being killed in his sleep, which isn't helping Nicky calm down. Though it doesn't surprise most of the others either but some grimace.

Jester: Could it have been that merchant from a few weeks ago? I wonder how he may have made his way into the castle, King Shadow won’t be happy about that…

Boom: Wait… King Shadow?! You’re kidding right?!

Jester: I may be a jester, but I am not joking! Lord Shadow is the title of the King who employed me!

Modern: You poor thing…

Jester: Nonsense! I take my King as a challenge! He rarely finds my jokes appealing but believe it or not I have made him laugh before!

The others look on in disbelief, until Jester noticed Nicky, still crying while Prime still trying his best to calm the boy down.

Jester: Oh who is this young one? What’s troubling you?

Nicky: I-I don’t know where I am! Or why I’m here! I don't wanna be Sonic! I want my mom and dad!

Jester: Oh come now, none of that! I’d say the reason you are here is because you are a dashing blue hedgehog such as myself! Why don’t I show you a few tricks? Tell a few jokes?

This catches Nicky's attention, Jester backs away from him and fishes around in his hat, pulling out some colorful juggling balls while never taking his eyes off of Nicky. He tells jokes and stories that manage to even get a chuckle out of Fleetway. Although, most of them are just horrible puns that only a Sonic would laugh at.

Jester: It seems I have a rather loud audience! Such good taste you all have! I may enjoy my purgatory!

Zonic: This isn’t purgatory, we are alternate versions of you.

Jester pauses, not really understanding what he means at first, until it finally clicks and he perks back up to continue his charade.

Jester: Well that explains why everyone here is so dashingly handsome!

Zonic: ...Yes… Anyways, thank you for calming Nicky down. How are you feeling kid?

Nicky: B-Better… You’re really funny mister…

Nicky wipes his eyes and Prime helps the boy onto one of the blue couches, he sits down while Prime rubs his back, attempting to comfort.

Jester: Why thank you Nicky!

Modern: Now I’ve seen it all… A Jester version of me who works for Shadow…

Jester: Oh I do much more than just work for King Shadow! He simply doesn’t like to admit it!

Jester winks, letting their imagination tell each of them exactly what that means.

Boom: I don’t even wanna know what that means…

Fleetway: Now I’m grateful I have no clue who this Shadow person is…

Boom: Trust me… You’re luckier than you think.

Jester: Don’t be like that! King Shadow isn’t all that cruel once you get past his appearance!

Jester is still lighting up the room, thriving as the center of attention. He is especially happy to talk about his King.

Modern: I can agree, he’s not all that bad but making him laugh is impressive, even for me. I rarely even see him smile, I’ve never heard him laugh before.

Jester: It was quite the task! Believe me! His laugh was one like no other that it would do no justice simply to describe!

Only a few of them notice the redness of the Jester's face, but chose not to comment.

Boom: I’ve heard mine laugh, mockingly. Never for real though.

Jester: That was how it was for me for a long time friend! I got through to him though!

Boom: Friend huh?

Jester: Just thought It would be nice to befriend such lovely faces! Which I would love to put names too.

Boom: Oh uh… Zonic? Can you tell me my Zone name or whatever so I can actually answer him?

Zonic: I wanted to put this off until everyone arrived, but sure. You are Boom Sonic.

Boom: I suppose I’m Boom Sonic… Jester…?

Boom turns to Zonic, who simply nods to silently state that was his title. Suddenly Movie runs over to Jester and jumps to get his attentions, though his size causes it to take more time than it should.

Movie: Please tell another joke! You’re hilarious! Oh! Who made your costume? It looks amazing! Why are some of your bells stars and some aren’t? Why do you talk like that? Wh-

Jester: Aren’t you excitable! I haven’t the foggiest what you mean by the way I talk, but of course I can tell more jokes! It’s what I do after all! As for my uniform, King Shadow had it made for me, I couldn’t tell you who made it unfortunately.

Movie went quiet at the mention of Shadow. Jester quickly began to distract him with more jokes and tricks. Zonic perked up as a thought came to his head and went over to Prime while Movie was distracted. Prime was sitting on the couch next to Nicky, Zonic whispered something to Prime, whose ears droop upon hearing what Zonic says but nods anyways.

Nicky: Wh-whats wrong? What did he say?

Prime: Nothing Nicky. Don’t worry about it.

Prime silently gets up and walks over to the nearest hedgehog, who happened to be Modern. He whispers the same thing that Zonic told him, Modern in turn perked up and whispered something back. Prime looks over at Classic and Movie, who were both surrounding Jester. Nicky had been a silent witness to everything that Prime has been doing and his anxiety began to grow as he watches Modern and Prime move over to other hedgehogs around the room.

Jester: I could tell some stories if you’d li-

Jester pauses, realizing something.

Jester: Pardon me, but I believe only one of you gave me your name! Who are you?

Movie perks up, he has been so excited by the jester that he forgot to tell him anything about himself.

Movie: Zonic says I’m Movie Sonic, so call me Movie!

Jester: Alrighty Movie! I’ve got a story to tell you! So-

The other hedgehogs spread the word to each other while avoiding Movie and Classic. Nicky continues to watch until every other Sonic had heard the whispers except for Jester, Movie, Classic, and Nicky. Nicky grew increasingly anxious, but before he could continue to spiral, he is interrupted by another thud, though this one is unusually loud.

Arthur: Sir Lancelot what in Camelot-

King Arthur, in full armor, was looking around at the scene in front of him, he then pulled out his sword. Instead of going on the attack, he questions the sword.

Arthur: Is this what you were referring to when you spoke of others who looked like myself?

Caliburn: Why yes My King! Though there was only one other! There he is! Knave! Explain what is happening at once!

Modern: Nice to see you too Caliburn.

Caliburn: Don’t jest! Explain at once!

Jester: Jesting is MY job!

King Arthur and Caliburn both look over at Jester, while it is hard to tell because of Arthur's armor, as well as Caliburn's smaller features, they both look him up and down.

Caliburn: Quiet fool!

Jester wasn't phased by the comment, smirking. King Arthur was incredibly confused at the sight of another Sonic he seemed to be in the exact opposite line of work to himself.

Jester: I wear that title with pride!

Modern: None of us really know why we're here yet, but we have some theories.

King Athur was relieved to hear that, he sighs lightly before taking a small look around the room. His gaze falls back on Modern shortly after and lifts his visor, many were confused about the full body gold armor and some even thought it was excessive, but none commented.

Arthur: Please elaborate on those theories, I must return to Camelot at once.

Modern: Zonic could do a better job at explaining, he’s that one with the uniform over there.

Arthur: I see, thank you, I must also thank you for returning peace to my kingdom in my absence. You truly are worthy of the title of King.

Modern: Oh… Uh… Thank you…?

Modern avoided eye contact with the King as his face flushed from the unexpected compliment. Coming from a King it was high praise.

Caliburn: He still has reluctant manners at best, and lacks discipline.

Arthur: Now Caliburn, he achieved his goals, in his own way, but Camelot is still standing strong and that’s all I could ever hope for.

Caliburn: I suppose… Now, let us ask this ‘Zonic’ fellow about how to leave this place!

Arthur: Of course.

Arthur and Caliburn make their way to Zonic, who had finally stopped whispering around, and the two began to talk about theories that Zonic has. Meanwhile, Nicky slowly got off the couch, and makes his way over to Modern and attempts to get his attention by tugging on the much taller hedgehog's glove.

Nicky: E-excuse me… mister…?

Modern looks down at the young hedgehog.

Modern: Hey buddy, what’s up?

Modern squats down to reach Nicky's level, he looks concerned.

Nicky: I-I saw Zonic whisper something to the nice Sonic who helped me… then he went over to you and you started whispering…

Nicky attempts to elaborate but his anxiety got the better of him, he stutters. Modern understands what he is trying to say and slowly places a hand on Nicky's shoulder.

Modern: Hey buddy, it’s okay. He was just telling me about something that shouldn’t be said to two of the other Sonics here or it could cause problems.

Nicky is sort of reassured knowing it wasn't about him.

Nicky: I-is it about that one? He seems scary…

Nicky points to Fleetway, who has made his way over to the bar and sat down, looking irritated.

Modern: No no, Its actually about those two little guys over there.

Modern points to Movie and Classic, who are still surrounding Jester in amazement at his impromptu performance. Their eyes look like they have stars in them, they don't notice Modern and Nicky looking.

Nicky: Are they in trouble? Are they gonna be okay?!

Nicky asks frantically, not wanting to get hurt, especially not those who seemed like good people.

Modern: They’ll be fine, I promise, Zonic wanted us not to tell them because it could mess with their timelines, Classic already knows the outcome of what he shouldn’t, but if anyone tells him what exactly happens then Zonic thinks it could cause a time rift. Bad stuff.

Nicky: Wh-what is it? That you can’t tell them?

Modern hesitates, not knowing if he should tell Nicky. He chooses to play it safe.

Modern: I’ll be honest, I don’t know if I can tell you because I don’t know if the same thing will happen in your world. Sorry kiddo, but try not to worry about it too much okay? It all works out in the end, I promise.

Nicky only brings himself to nod in response, unable to do anything else. He makes his way back over to the couch and sits back down. Modern joins in on the conversation between Arthur, Caliburn, and Zonic in the mean time. Another hedgehog fell into room as everyone settled. This time Boom is the one who takes action and catches the variant. He is the same height as Fleetway, though with much shorter quills.

OVA: Oh jeez, what happened this time?

OVA looks around, exasperated at the sight in front of him. The dots connected in his head and his gaze darts around, hopeful. After he does a full scan of the room he deflates, Boom lets him down and OVA begins to ask questions that have already been answered before, until he asks one that the others don't expect.

OVA: Say, if other Sonics are showing up, does that mean there is a chance that Metal could show up too?

Those who are familiar with Metal Sonic turn over in questioning, with Fleetway as an exception, Metal Sonic goes by a the name Metallix in his Zone, as well as Zonic.

Modern: Metal? As in Metal Sonic? Hopefully not…

OVA: What do you mean hopefully not?

OVA is surprisingly offended on Metal Sonic's behalf, Modern is unsure how to respond to this. Zonic is quick to mediate as usual.

Zonic: It could be possible, but unless an alternate Sonic has been roboticized, I’m not sure that would be possible.

Most aren't familiar with being Roboticized, but the name gives it away enough that those who figure it out what it entails shiver.

Zonic: This Sonic has a unique relationship with his Metal Sonic, due try not to pry.

OVA: I’m the only one who knew Metal like that?

Archie: I have a pretty unique relationship with my Metal, but he’s kind of a new robot entirely. He goes by Shard, a new Metal Sonic was made to replace him pretty quick though.

OVA just hums, he makes his way to the bar and sits a few seats down from Fleetway before losing himself in his own head, turning away from the others with drooped ears. Jester takes noticed of OVA's sour mood but before he is able to attempt to cheer him up Zonic intervenes, wordlessly telling him not to bother the other.

Jester huffs in response, then Zonic goes back to his conversation with Caliburn and King Arthur by the wall lined with doors. Jester was back to entertaining Classic and Movie in the middle of the carpet, with Nicky, Prime, and Boom all watching from different places on the couches. Archie and Modern are standing over the group as well.

Arthur: I see, well, considering we are not all here and accounted for yet, all we may be able to do is wait for the final arrivals. If we attempt to leave without them, they could potentially be caught in crossfire or left behind here.

Zonic nods in agreement while Caliburn mutters about having wait, Arthur shushes the sword and puts him away. They begin to chat amongst themselves while waiting for another Sonic to drop. However, instead, something else happens.

Zonic: Perhaps we have an answer to why we are here now.

All of the hedgehogs in the room look over to the back wall, seeing a screen pop up from seemingly nowhere. On it reads a message.

‘HELLO SONICS, DO NOT WORRY, YOU ARE NOT IN ANY DANGER. YOU ARE SIMPLY HERE TO ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS SUBMITTED BY SOME ANONYMOUS VIEWERS.’

Fleetway: What do you mean viewers?! There are people watching us?!

The screen ignores the outburst and continues.

‘THESE VIEWERS ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE EVENTS THAT PLAY OUT IN YOUR RESPECTIVE ZONES, SO THE QUESTIONS WILL LIKELY BE ABOUT THEM. HOWEVER, WE DO NOT CONTROL WHAT THESE VIEWERS WILL ASK. WE HAVE LAID DOWN SOME GROUND RULES, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, SOME OF THE QUESTIONS COULD BE CONSIDERED INVASIVE AND YOU COULD REFUSE TO ANSWER IF YOU LIKE. ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU COULD BE ASKED THE SAME QUESTION AGAIN IN THE FUTURE THOUGH.’

All of them look around at each other, unsettled. Zonic in particular has a lot running through his head.

Zonic: Can you, behind the screen hear and see us right now?

The screen was blank for a moment before a single word popped up.

‘YES.’

It read, before quickly disappearing. Another longer message appears in it's place.

‘IF ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, ASK THEM NOW BEFORE THIS SCREEN IS EXCLUSIVELY RESERVED FOR SUBMITTED QUESTIONS. SAID QUESTIONS WILL NOT DISAPPEAR UNTIL THEY ARE ANSWERED OR THE RESPECTIVE HEDGEHOG REFUSES TO RESPOND.’

Zonic: My main concern would be the time rifts this could cause, certain Sonics have had things happen in their Zones that haven’t happened to others yet.

‘NO TIME RIFTS WILL BE CAUSED, I ASSURE YOU. AFTER THIS SESSION HAS CONCLUDED YOUR MEMORIES WILL NOT BE RETAINED.’

Fleetway: So what is the point of this whole mess if nobody will remember it?!

‘YOU WILL NOT RETAIN YOUR MEMORY, BUT THE VIEWERS WILL.’

Fleetway: So we’re here to entertain a bunch of stalkers?! I’m not answering anything.

‘YOU MAY DO SO IF YOU WISH. YOU WILL STILL BE HELD HERE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.’

Fleetway wasn't happy to know that, but decides not to make a scene, knowing that any tantrum or outrage would amount to nothing.

Modern: You said something about ground rules? Can we know what those are?

‘YES YOU MAY, THEY WILL BE LISTED HERE:

All of the hedgehogs think those rules are reasonable enough, though some were confused as they read.

Arthur: Pardon, but some of those words allude me… What is ‘NSFW’?

‘NSFW IS SHORT FOR ‘NOT SAFE FOR WORK’. MEANING ANY CONTENT THAT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE UNDER THE AGE THAT THEY WOULD BE CONSIDERED A LEGAL ADULT IN THEIR UNIVERSES.’ The screen responded.

Zonic: So proper censorship will be applied, none of the children are going to be asked anything they shouldn’t.

Modern: So when will these questions be coming in?

‘AS SOON AS THIS IS SUBMITTED TO THE PUBLIC, WHEN WE HAVE ENOUGH QUESTIONS SUBMITTED THEY WILL BE DISPLAYED TO YOU, AND YOU WILL GIVE A RESPONSE. I RECOMMEND YOU ALL GET SOME REST IN THE ROOMS YOU HAVE ALL BEEN ASSIGNED TO.’

Everyone ignored the grumbling from Fleetway.

Archie: By the way, Zonic. Some of us don’t know what this screen thing will call us when we get a question, or which one of these rooms are ours.

Zonic perked up, glancing over at the doors before looking back at the others.

Zonic: One of these match ups I’m objecting to anyway. No way am I letting Scourge room with Fleetway.

Zonic walks up to the doors and switches some of the names around. Some look around, silently questioning which one of them was Fleetway. Zonic turns back and points to Fleetway, who looks him up and down at the unwanted acknowledgement.

Zonic: That one is Fleetway. Scourge is in the bathroom, he has yet to come out and I want it to stay that way. Don’t worry, Scourge will room with me so I can keep an eye on him.

Archie grimaces, thinking about what could have happened if Zonic didn't switch the names.

Fleetway: Who IS rooming with me then?

Zonic points to Archie, who tries to fix his face before Fleetway makes eye contact.

Zonic: Archie will, please don’t start any arguments between you two.

Archie: My nickname is Archie huh? Alright Fleetway, let’s try to make this work.

Archie tries to keep positive, though he was less than enthusiastic to be rooming with Fleetway. The other just rolled his eyes and mumbled noncommittally. Zonic turns his attention to another Sonic and tells him his Zone name is Prime.

Prime: Me? Okay… Who am I going to be sharing with?

Zonic looks back at the rooms and scans for Prime's name, he finds it and looks back.

Zonic: You’ll be sharing with King Arthur from the looks of it.

King Arthur looks over at Prime, who smiles nervously and waves to the King. Arthur simply nods in response.

Zonic goes around and tells all of the others their respective names and who they would be rooming with, some of which have yet to arrive.

Modern: Now we wait, I guess.

Jester: I assure you I will make sure we will do much more than simply wait! We shall make the most of this!

Movie, Classic, and Nicky are especially happy to hear that.

Chapter Text

All of the Sonics were still minding their own business; some were talking while others were behind the bar making chili dogs. None of the hedgehogs had gone into their rooms yet, but Fleetway in particular is heavily considering it.

Suddenly, a ding was heard and all of the Sonics looked over to the screen because it seemed to be the source of the sound.

‘QUESTION FROM ‘oOLemon_MilkOo’:

Who's Knuckles is the strongest? Along with that, who's Tails is the smartest? Feel free to debate each other.

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

All of the Sonics began to look around at each other, considering their own answers before beginning to talk.

Archie: First question and they want us to start debating with each other?

Zonic: It seems like it, I can’t talk for myself because most of our time is spent working. We hardly get to talk anymore…

Zonic looks away, lost in thought.

Modern: I don’t mean to brag, but my Little Buddy is one of the smartest guys I’ve ever met!

Archie: No way! MY Tails is definitely better!

Modern; Oh yeah? What about Knux, huh? Mine has-

The two began to go back and forth, recalling several different times both the fox had shown his intelligence, and the echidna had shown his strength. Several others began to join in.

Boom: My Little Buddy was able to stop an asteroid from hitting the planet! Knux was the one to break it apart!

Movie: Knuckles survived getting hit by a car!

Modern: His Miles Electric helped me translate an alien language!

Nicky looked on at the debate, he is upset that they are talking about people who he doesn’t know. He was the only one who didn’t know these two but didn’t have the confidence to say anything. Only a few of them are not a part of the debate. King Arthur, Zonic, and Fleetway are off doing their own things. Zonic and Arthur are looking inside the bedrooms while Fleetway is still sitting at the bar, ignoring everyone else.

Nicky is corrected by a shout from above him, everyone else is loudly debating so they don’t notice another hedgehog fall from above. This one is wearing a necklace shaped like a guitar.

Underground: Ouch man, where the heck are we sibs?

Underground gets up and looks around, noticing all of the others debating while Nicky stands right in front of him.

Nicky: A-Are you okay sir?

Underground: Woah, am I seeing double or what? Actually, it’s way more than double! That’s not important, where are my sis and bro? Do you know?

Nicky: No sir… I-I’m sorry…

Underground: Hm, it’s alright, but I need to find them soon so that I can-

Movie: Hey! A new guy! Let’s ask him!

Movie darts over to Underground before immediately questioning him.

Movie: Hey! How smart is your Tails?! Bet he isn’t as smart as mine!

Underground is confused by the question, he tilts his head.

Underground: Who is Tails?

The room goes silent, all eyes are on Underground, who was not standing very well against the pressure.

Modern: Tails, y’know, your brother?

Underground: I have a brother, but his name isn’t Tails, it’s Manic.

Zonic: This is one of the very few Zones where a Tails does not exist at Sonic’s side. Instead, he has a twin sister and brother.

Most of the others don’t know how to respond to that, they couldn’t imagine a world without their little buddies. Nicky however, perks up, hearing that he isn’t the only one who doesn’t know who Tails is.

Nicky: I-I don’t know him either… It’s not just you…

Underground looks back at the smaller hedgehog, while most others just look on in silence.

Archie: Well, what about Knuckles? Either of you know him?

Underground: oh yeah, I know Knuckles! I don’t see the guy very often, but he’s cool! Where are we by the way?

Underground is taken away by the group. Nicky is slightly disappointed by that but doesn’t voice it, he feels alone because he didn’t know any of the people they were talking about. Jester takes notice and comes over to him, Underground begins to join the debate with the others.

Jester: What seems to be troubling you Nicky?

Nicky jumps at the acknowledgement, before turning to Jester.

Nicky: W-Well uh… All of th-them are talking about these p-people I don’t know and…

Jester pauses for a moment, in thought.

Jester: Why don’t I come sit with you? I don’t care much for debates anyways, not very entertaining wouldn’t you agree?

Nicky nods and smiles lightly, the two sit on the carpet and begin to talk. The other hedgehogs are still debating, which at this point has just turned into a bragging match. As all of them are distracted, only Nicky, Jester, and Fleetway notice the sound of the bathroom door clicking.

Scourge: Man, I really needed that nap…

Scourge looks around, seeing the amount of hedgehogs in the room. He pauses, silently regretting leaving the bathroom at all.

Fleetway: Who the hell are you?

Scourge looks over at Fleetway, who is glaring at him. Nicky and Jester don’t want to disturb this, as with what little they have seen of either of them, it seems like it could be nasty.

Scourge: Scourge. Scourge the Hedgehog. What about you, shorty?

Fleetway: Watch your mouth, booger boy. Crayon Box over there called me ‘Fleetway’.

Scourge: Crayon Box, eh? Y’ mean Zonic?

Fleetway: Yeah, yeah, whatever, I don’t care what his name is. He’s a nerd anyway.

Scourge huffs in surprise, not expecting to hear a Sonic talk that way. He smirks, moving to sit next to him.

Scourge: So, what are they all yapping about over there?

Fleetway: Their versions of Pixel Brain and Knuckles, we are apparently here to answer questions from ‘viewers’.

Scourge rolls his eyes, then pauses.

Scourge: So we’re here to entertain a bunch of stalkers?

Fleetway: That’s what I said! I won’t be answering anything!

Scourge: Me neither, I don’t want any stalker knowin’ a damn thing about me, or a Sonic.

Fleetway raises a brow.

Scourge: Eh, you ain’t so bad, but I’m still not tellin’ you nothin’.

Fleetway: I’m okay with that. I won't be telling a stranger like you anything about myself either.

The two both smirk, despite saying they wouldn’t tell each other about themselves, they begin to talk. Nicky and Jester look on in concern, thinking that this new friendship could cause trouble. Zonic and Arthur finish looking through the rooms, and see Scourge talking to Fleetway. Arthur doesn’t think much of it, but Zonic attempts to intervene.

Zonic: What are you two doing?

Scourge and Fleetway both look over, glaring at Zonic for interrupting them.

Fleetway: Chatting. What’s it to you, Crayon Box?

Zonic: I want to make sure that you two aren’t going to cause trouble, and that you, Scourge, are not going to stress him out.

Scourge: Now why would I do that? This guy is cool.

Fleetway: Didn’t you say you didn’t want us rooming together? Why is that?

Zonic: I want to keep an eye on Scourge myself, he is an escaped convict after all. Also, I was under the impression he might try to stress you out on purpose.

Fleetway rolls his eyes, he waves Zonic away.

Fleetway: Buzz off, I can handle myself. I've escaped prison before too.

Zonic sighs and looks over at the debate, it’s getting more out of hand then he would like, so he goes to break it up.

Modern: My Little Buddy is!

Archie: No! My Little Buddy is the smartest one! He-

Zonic walks into the middle of the crowd and stops everyone.

Zonic: Nobody can say for sure just how intelligent and strong each variant is, because not only are both of those subjective, but the power and intellect standards differ a lot depending on the Zone.

Most of the hedgehogs mutter and grumble about not being able to couch for their friends anymore, but don’t continue to argue.

Movie: Hey guys! We have another question!

They all pause and look at the screen, which reads:

‘QUESTION FROM ‘HollowLightNocturne’:

Movie Sonic, what is your favorite activity to do with your tails and your knuckles? Also, what is your favorite thing to do with Tom and Maddie Wachowski?

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

They all look at Movie Sonic, who immediately jumps to answer.

Movie: Oh! I love racing with Tails and Knuckles! We run and fly and jump ALL over Earth! It’s so much fun! Up until we hit water, I hate that…

Movie huffs, other hedgehogs think about their own friends and smirk. Modern comes closer to Movie and taps him on the shoulder before he continues.

Modern: Who are Tom and Maddie?

Movie: Well, back before they adopted me they were my favorite humans to spy on, I call them Donut Lord and Pretzel Lady!

In the background Fleetway is heard muttering ‘Oh great, another stalker.’ Most ignore him, but Scourge laughs.

Modern: Why spy on them? Why not just talk to them?

Movie: I couldn’t… If I was seen by the wrong person, it could’ve been real bad. I’m an alien to them after all. It almost WAS real bad actually! Eggman tried to catch me for my power!

Modern: That’s Eggman for you…

Movie: Yeah… He turned out alright in the end, he helped stop that big canon from blowing up the planet!

Modern: Mine did that too, but what do you mean by ‘the end’?

Movie: He uh… didn’t make it…

The room goes silent.

Archie: Wait, your Eggman is dead?

Movie: I think so… Shadow didn’t make it either…

Prime moves to silently comfort Movie, who looks back at him and smiles lightly.

Movie: It’s alright, thank you Prime.

Prime smiles in return, Modern is struggling not to tell him that it’s likely that Shadow is very much alive, knowing that it wouldn’t cause a time rift. He looks over at Zonic, silently asking him if he can say something. ‘Not yet’ is the response he receives.

Movie: Anyway, my favorite thing to do with them is watch Keanu Reeves, it’s nice not having to watch through the window anymore and being able to sit on the couch with them and Ozzy…

Prime: Do you… need a minute Movie?

Movie nods and Prime guides him to the couch, they sit in silent comfort as another question pops up on the screen with a ding.

‘QUESTION FROM ‘UnicornChao’

All: Boom's Eggman is the best one. [Hopefully he will elaborate and get humbled.] Movie and Archie I think have the crazy/creepy ones. But I wanna is how will you guys rank your Dr. Robotnik/Eggman's in order from Good(tolerable) to Bad(unforgivable evil monster).

Archie: Crazy and creepy doesn’t even begin to describe him.

Boom: Mine is the best? Really? How bad are some of yours that the guy who tries to take over the village regularly is the best of the bunch?

Zonic: He isn’t. Scourge’s Kintober is the best.

Fleetway perks up hearing that name, eyes immediately falling on Scourge. Scourge doesn’t notice and simply mutters at Zonic.

Zonic: I would put Nicky’s next, but I don’t know much about him. Though he doesn’t seem as destructive as most others.

Nicky looks to Zonic at the acknowledgment, before Jester takes his attention once more, Classic joining him as well.

Zonic: Then Boom, you were right that he is still pretty high on the list, but Kintober is better, from a moral standpoint anyway. Though at the same time, take my opinion with a grain of salt, your Zone is… unique.

Zonic pauses, considering who should be next. Boom raises a ridge at the comment, but stays silent. The others couldn’t answer as well as he could, so they listen as he lists.

Zonic: I’ll say… perhaps OVA? He may have created Metal Sonic, but the fact that he entertains Sara the way he does says something… It seemed not all of the damage he caused was intentional, and after Sara says no to marrying him, I don’t recall him trying to force her into it. I could be wrong however, because if he did then he would obviously be way lower down.

OVA: Huh… But he tricked me and tried to kill Tails and Knuckles as well!

Archie: That’s just Eggman 101, they all seem to do that.

Zonic: Then Classic, his Robotnik hasn’t been around as long, so he hasn’t had the chance to do as much damage. Not to mention that sometimes he does feed Sonic and Tails when they don’t have food themselves. Though the trapping animals in robots puts him lower down.

Classic’s ears turn red as he tries not to pay attention to the comment, focusing more on Jester’s tricks.

Zonic: I haven’t seen much of Prime’s. Or King Arthur’s and Jester’s, I’m not sure Camelot even has a Robotnik. One of them isn’t here yet either, pirate is not a Zone I’ve needed to visit before. I know about it, but I don’t watch over it much.

Arthur: I’m afraid I haven’t met anyone who goes by that name or fits any descriptions I’ve heard of the man. So I suppose I can be left off the list.

Zonic nods and continues.

Zonic: This one isn’t here yet, but X’s would be next, he gave that kid that has an unhealthy attachment to their version of Sonic a reality check as far as I know. Chris is his name I think? He spent almost a decade of his life trying to see Sonic again after he left to go back to his home planet. X did so because it would have been my problem if he didn’t, Chris tried to keep him there for even longer just because he didn’t want to say goodbye. It was selfish of the boy to try and keep him there, the whole Zone was at risk until X finally talked him down. Not to mention he talked X out of a certain form I’m inclined not to mention…

Some hedgehogs wince, Zonic didn’t seem too fond of the kid he was talking about. Others thought about what would happen if someone had an unhealthy attachment like that to them, none were fond of the idea.

Zonic: I would say Modern… his relationship with Sage was… interesting… The Metal Virus is the reason I can’t say he would go any higher.

Modern looks away, the guilt of Sage’s death isn’t something he has had the time to get over quite yet.

Zonic: Most of the others fall into despicable territory, but I’ll say Adventures, then Underground… probably Fleetway… that one that goes by Satam… then Archie. I’m under the impression that Archie’s is physically incapable of feeling sympathy because of his origins as a computer program.

Zonic: I might be wrong about some of those, morality is subjective after all and I did come up with that off the top of my head. Whoever asked is free to disagree, not that I would ever know about it unless they ask another question.

They all mutter amongst themselves for a moment about their versions of the doctor’s placement, before another ding interrupted them.

‘ANOTHER QUESTION FROM THE SAME VIEWER:

All: What's the most impressive thing you (and your powers) have done? Please discuss.

TAKE AS MUCH TIME AS YOU NEED.’

Archie: That’s a hard one; there are so many things I’ve done! Get back to Mobius after being knocked into space, beat Robotnik permanently, even if Eggman replaced him… Oh! What about the time I used the Super Emeralds-

Modern: Most impressive? I’m not sure… Maybe beating The End with Sage? Saving Camelot? Stopping Dark Gaia was probably impressive… Or getting rid of the Metal Virus? That one isn’t really considering Silver helped and it was kinda my fault it started in the first place…

Modern goes silent.

Modern: I’m not really a big fan of dwelling on the past anyway…

Movie’s ears droop and he tries to lift the mood by directing attention to himself.

Movie: Helping Shadow stop that space canon from hitting the Earth! Oh! Or maybe stopping Eggman from destroying Green Hill with that huge mech! I can’t choose!

Jester: Making my King laugh was rather impressive, but I’ve done with him that would be considered even bigger of a deal! Though I’ve been sworn to secrecy.

Zonic: At this point I consider me getting up every day impressive… but again, this question is subjective.

Scourge considers, then shrugs.

Scourge: Breakin’ outta Zone Jail probably.

Fleetway glares.

Fleetway: I thought you said you weren’t going to entertain a bunch of stalkers?

Scourge waves him off.

Scourge: Relax, I won’t. I mentioned that before I knew about them, so they heard it already anyway.

Fleetway grumbles before turning away from the screen, pointedly ignoring the question.

Boom: I don't mean to brag... but probably stopping that Lyric the Last Ancient guy, he even mind controlled Shadow at one point.

Boom smirks, like he totally meant to brag. Prime looks over at the mention of Shadow being controlled, still sitting with Movie. Movie was better now and had gotten up, but Prime didn’t answer the question, as all he had done recently was screw up his reality and had yet to fix it.

Nicky: I-I-I don’t know… the most impressive thing I’ve ever done is get an A on a test…

Nicky looks down at the floor, shoving his hands in his pockets.

Zonic: That isn’t true, the fact that you put up with as much bullying as you do is impressive, not to mention, you have a girlfriend. That’s more than some can say.

Most of the hedgehogs look over, Nicky’s face turns red at the acknowledgement and the mention of his girlfriend. Some looked ready to murder at the mention of the boy being bullied.

Modern: Nice man, I’d say that’s impressive!

Nicky: Wh-What?! That’s not impressive! Sh-She asked me! Not uh…

Nicky was too flustered to continue, hiding his face.

Movie: So?! Who is it?! I gotta know!

Nicky hesitates, trying to gain his bearings after being embarrassed.

Nicky: ...H-Her name is Amy… She’s really sweet and k-kind… She… stands up for me a lot…

Movie: Aw! That’s so cute! I bet you two are adorable!

Movie smiles, other hedgehogs ruffle Nicky’s bangs or chuckle. As the center of attention, his face is as red as Knuckles at this point.

Zonic: Alright, leave him alone, he’s getting overwhelmed.

They all back off, but Nicky is left flustered and dizzy. Some others have had time to consider their answers and speak.

Underground: Meeting up with my sibs and unlocking our powers was something I’d say is pretty impressive! Even if we still have a long way to go, we’ve stopped Robuttnik enough for that to be impressive.

OVA: Proving to Metal that I was the real Sonic…

Some look over because of OVA’s tone not being as enthusiastic as expected. OVA looks away.

Arthur: Ruling Camelot is a grueling task, I’m far from perfect, as I let myself become trapped in a cursed sword, overall, I would consider the idea of ruling at all impressive.

Classic tugs on Modern’s glove to get his attention, he gestures to get Modern to answer for him.

Modern: Classic says that helping me stop the Time Eater and Infinite was impressive, but going Hyper is probably the most impressive thing he’s done, me too actually.

Zonic: Some of those answers are not what I expected, I thought I would hear a lot more about certain forms but alright. That seems to be the last question for now though.

Fleetway: Good, I’m tired of listening to all this chatter, I’m going to my room.

Zonic sighs and hears Fleetway get up. Most others just look away and try to ignore the overly negative hedgehog. Scourge, however, follows Fleetway. Fleetway looks back at Scourge as he places his hand on the knob of the door.

Fleetway: What? You want to avoid the chatter too?

Scourge: Yeah man, not like I’m gonna answer any of them anyway.

Fleetway shrugs, and invites him in.

Fleetway: We were supposed to room together, so why not?

Scourge smirks and follows him in, the others are exasperated by Fleetway’s liking of Scourge, especially Archie.

Zonic: Ignore them. It’s for the best.

Chapter Text

[INT. -???- NIGHT?]

All of the hedgehogs are seen talking amongst themselves, even Fleetway and Scourge, who are alone in Fleetway and Archie’s room. No questions have popped up for a while, and all were considering going to bed.

Boom: You guys think it’s time to hit the hay? We haven’t gotten a question in a while.

Zonic: I don’t think it matters when the question comes in, the screen did say it wouldn’t go away until it was answered.

Boom: True.

Zonic: Well, I suppose we can all go to sleep, I do have to drag Scourge out of your room Archie-

Archie: Just let him stay there, I really don’t want to be around Fleetway anymore than I have to.

Zonic: I’ll admit, I’m not looking forward to having Scourge as a roommate, but I need to make sure-

Archie: I know, but Fleetway tried earlier, he couldn’t get out even if he wanted to.

Zonic pauses, considering moving the labels back. He sighs before moving them around.

Archie: Thank you, I’m rooming with you then?

Zonic only nods, stressed about the idea of those two sharing their space. Archie places his hand on the Zone Cop’s shoulder.

Archie: Hey man, it’s alright. It’ll be fine. If anything, they deserve each other.

Zonic looks back at him with a glare, Archie just grins in response. Zonic sighs and gives in.

Zonic: Fine, we can sleep no-

A ding interrupts him. Zonic groans but looks at the screen.

‘QUESTION FROM ‘UnicornChao’:

To Zonic: Out of all the Sonics that have a door, which one has the strongest base form?

'TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.'

Zonic just glares at the screen before taking the time to consider.

Zonic: Probably Archie, but power balances, context, and Chaos Energy all vary a lot based on the Zone, so I could be wrong.

Archie hums, and just as Zonic is about to enter his room, another ding interrupts him.

‘QUESTION FROM ‘Kariminal’:

Do you have partners or crushes at all. If so who and what do you love most about them?

'TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Zonic groans, frustrated at being kept away from his sleep.

Zonic: No, I don’t have the time for that. Don’t bother asking Fleetway, his answer will be no, Scourge is still with Fiona. Can I go now?

Archie chuckles, nodding at Zonic and looks at the screen to read. Zonic immediately darts into the shared space and slams the door. Others around the room look at the screen as well.

Modern: Nah, I don’t really stay in one place long enough for that, I don’t think I would be a good partner either, I don’t do well with long term commitments,

Classic nods in agreement, retaining the same answer.

Nicky: I-I think I answered that earlier…

That gets a couple of chuckles from various hedgehogs. Nicky’s face flushes.

Jester: Cheer up Nicky! It’s alright!

Nicky: What about you m-mister?

Jester is slightly surprised to be questioned, his cheeks tint pink but it’s hardly noticeable thanks to his makeup.

Jester: I’m afraid just as I was sworn to secrecy before, I am in this regard as well.

Jester looks away from the group, not out of shame, but solemn embarrassment. Just as Nicky goes to question another hedgehog, another arrival shows up. The reaction was as they typically went, confusion, as well as questions. Thankfully, they could all be answered quickly.

X: So… we’re here in order to answer questions from ‘viewers’. What about our worlds?

Movie: Zonic said that time was stopped! But the screen never told us anything about that, he thinks if we won’t remember ever coming here, then we will think we never left!

X is silent, Movie recalls Zonic telling him that his roommate had yet to show up, but without him, he couldn’t say which Sonic this was. Based on his behavior, he seemed to fit the description that Zonic gave him of his roommate, though he can’t confirm it, so he chooses not tell him that X is his Zone name.

Movie: We don’t know where you’ll be staying because Zonic is asleep and can’t tell us your Zone name, but don’t worry! You can stay with me because my roommate hasn’t shown up yet!

X nods and smirks at the younger hedgehog, then looks up at the board and reads the question.

X: Man, when you said questions I didn’t think you meant ones like that…

Movie: Sorry, we don’t get to choose them… I haven’t answered yet so I’ll go first, I may have had a small crush before but never a partner. He- uh- THEY were very brave…

Movie goes silent, embarrassed that he let it slip that his crush was male. He lives on Earth, where prejudice is something he had been exposed to before, not just because he’s an alien, but for other reasons as well. X looks back at him, furrowing his brow before crossing his arms and looking back at the screen.

X: I’ve never been in love, I don’t really wanna be either. I know Amy likes me, but I don’t like her back. I never told her because she kinda has a temper problem.

Boom’s attention is caught. Nicky is just as surprised to hear that.

Boom: Never thought I’d see a version of me who doesn’t like Ames ba-

Boom pauses, realizing he said that out loud. Other hedgehogs look over at him and his face flushes red as they chuckle. He attempts to hide his face in his neckerchief, but his red tinted ears are still glaringly showing his embarrassment. X simply shrugs, unable to imagine ever liking anyone at all.

Movie: You only answered one half Boom! What do you like about her?

Boom’s face flushes even more, muttering that Movie didn’t answer the other half either. Movie goes quiet after that. Others begin to answer in order to take the attention off of Boom as he begins to become irritated about being put on blast.

Underground: I’ve never really had the opportunity to be in love at all, never staying in one place for long enough, y’know?

OVA: I agree, I’ve never had the time for that.

Arthur: I’m afraid that is not a question I can answer…

Archie: My relationship with Sally is still going strong! She’s so smart and brave, we’ve had our ups and downs but she’s still amazing.

Archie loses himself to his thoughts. Prime is the only one who hasn’t answered, so some turn to him while others look back at whatever they were doing previously.

Prime: I uh…

Prime mutters his answer, not one of them hears it. Thanks to his rather upset expression, they choose not to pry. Prime is prevented from spiraling by another question appearing.

‘QUESTION FROM ‘UnicornChao’ again:

I know AOSTH Sonic will freak out when he can't find his Tails. Also (To All Sonic's: how would they feel if Tails called them their mother, father, and picket fence?).

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Modern furrows his brow.

Modern: I… don’t think that one has shown up yet but… how about we just stick with older brother, yeah? Picket fence would be fine… if I knew what that meant… The thought is there though!

Classic nods in agreement, as does OVA and Boom. Prime is still silent, having yet to look at the screen. Movie taps him to get his attention, causing him to look at the screen. Prime’s eyes widen, darting around the room. His gaze lands on the door with his name on it, he looks back at the others.

Prime: I… I need a minute…

The other hedgehogs all look at him, worried, but don’t attempt to stop him. Prime makes his way to his door and walks inside, a soft click is heard after he is inside, indicating that he locked it.

Arthur: I suppose I won’t be sleeping in there for a while… It’s alright, these couches seem comfortable enough. While I do view the blacksmith as a close ally, I’m afraid I’m not close enough to him to consider him as a son. I agree that perhaps I would fit the role of an elder sibling better.

Movie: I’m WAY too young to be a father! Besides, Tails already has a mom and dad! Tom and Maddie took him in and now we share a room! Not that I really gave them a choice…

Movie chuckles sheepishly, scratching the quills on the back of his head.

Archie: Tails already has parents in my Zone too, so it would be pretty weird if he did that…

X takes a moment to think before answering.

X: Not sure, I don’t think we’ve ever thought of each other that way.

Everyone was satisfied with the answers they gave, when they all looked back at the board, they all laid their eyes on a sentence they never wanted to read in their lifetime.

‘QUESTION FROM THE SAME VIEWER:

To All Sonic's: AOSTH Sonic dressed in drag, went through a whole wedding and married his Robotnik and kiss him, and I didn't see any divorce stuff at all, even if it was marriage fraud, or even a court ruling. How do all the other Sonic feel about this?

Silence fell upon the whole room.

…

Jester, Nicky, and Arthur however, did not react at all when reading the question, as they don’t know Robotnik at all. While Nicky’s alter might, Nicky himself did not. As the three looked at the other hedgehogs and their reactions, they figured out why they were told about this.

Chaos.

Archie: I regret letting Zonic leave now. At least he could’ve told us WHY THE HE-

Modern: Language! There are children present!

Archie: THOSE CHILDREN ALSO JUST READ THAT!

Modern: I know! That doesn’t mean that they have to hear even more of…

Modern couldn’t bring himself to continue, gagging. Most other hedgehogs had a similar reaction, disgusted by the sheer thought of a Sonic doing that. Several shouts of exasperated questioning were the only other reaction they gave. None of them focused on the idea that the hedgehog had dressed in drag, only thinking about the fact that he had kissed his version of Robotnik.

Modern: I lied before when I said I had seen it all when seeing Jester, NOW I have ACTUALLY seen it all.

Movie had tears in his eyes, Boom went to throw up in the bathroom. It was not a pretty sight.

X: I hate this already. I wanna go back! I’d rather have to defeat The Metarex all over again then think about that anymore!

Jester feels the need to distract them all, as much as he tries, some are simply too disgusted to react to his attempts to cheer them up.

Arthur: Perhaps we should all retire to bed for now, I think we all need it.

Some of the hedgehogs nodded and made their way to their respective doors, Boom however, was still puking. King Arthur left him to it, though he wasn’t looking forward to listening to Boom retch while he tried to sleep. Jester tries to shove the rest of the disgusted hedgehogs into their respective rooms, which succeeds for the most part.

Jester: Come along Nicky, you are sharing with OVA over there, let’s get you to bed.

Jester guided him over to his door, OVA was already inside, shaking his head and trying to ward away unwanted thoughts. Nicky thanked him quietly before Jester went back to the bathroom and tried to get Boom to bed as well in order to assist King Arthur.

Jester: None of that Boom! You must focus your mind on rest for now! I’m unsure if that will be the worst of the questions after all!

Boom groans in agony at the thought.

Chapter Text

[INT.-???-DAY?]

Several doors in the white, plain, minimally furnished room that all of the hedgehogs were being held in were closed. Not everyone was awake after they had all decided to sleep. Only Fleetway, Scourge, Nicky, Jester, King Arthur, and Boom had come out of their rooms after sleeping. Though most were still groggy, not looking forward to more questions. Scourge had finally asked after having enough of their groveling that wasn’t directed towards him.

Scourge: What do you all look so bummed for?

Boom: You don’t wanna know…

Boom refuses to elaborate. Fleetway was with him all night, both getting on surprisingly well. King Arthur didn’t let him in on anything either, telling him it was for the best.

Scourge: Hey four eyes, clown, what is everybody bein’ so bitchy about?

Nicky looks up from his spot on the carpet, startled. Jester ignores him, refusing to respond to the name clown.

Nicky: I uh… it’s uh… b-because of a question we g-got… y-yesterday.

Scourge scoffs, rolling his eyes. Fleetway has his attention drawn to the young boy.

Fleetway: What question, dork?

Nicky flinches at the unnecessary insult, but manages to respond.

Nicky: A-About something another So-Sonic did… um… he apparently… kissed that doctor guy you keep talking about… Married him too?

The room goes silent, the same tension as last night washing over the room again.

Boom: Don’t remind me, Nicky. PLEASE don’t bring that up again.

Scourge and Fleetway both try to process what they have been told, but the disgust takes hold of them both. Fleetway dashes towards his room while Scourge heads for the bathroom.

Scourge: I never shoulda asked…

[TIME SKIP-INT.-???-DAY?]

All of the hedgehogs were awake at this point, avoiding discussing yesterday. Scourge and Fleetway have both finally come out of the rooms they were hiding in, though they might as well still be hiding because they were both staying behind the bar, not wanting to interact with any of the others. All of the others were out and about the room, the couches and bar both held discussions, Zonic however, had yet to show up. Archie went and attempted to wake him up, but the exhausted Zone Cop was still out cold. Prime still had yet to come out of his room but based on a short discussion he had with King Arthur through the door, they knew he was awake. They were unaware of why Prime was choosing the keep the door locked though.

A ding interrupted the casual converse flow of the room.

‘ALL OF THE QUESTIONS SUBMITTED TODAY WILL BE FROM THE SAME VIEWER. ‘Rorythehedgehog09’.

THE FIRST QUESTION IS:

To all Sonics (and Scourge): What's your favorite adventure you’ve been on?

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Some take the time to think before answering, silent relief washed over the room about the rather normal question.

Modern: Hard to say… Maybe the Starfall Islands?

Movie: I couldn’t decide between when I met Tails and Knuckles or when I met… Shadow…

Movie pauses.

Movie: Maybe when I met Tails and Knuckles… at least that one had a happy ending.

Modern fights the urge to tell him Shadow is alive again.

Underground: The time when the oracle transported us to a world where we were the bad guys and Robuttnik was the good guy was weird, but I think it was fun! It was also when me and my sibs found an even better chance at finding mom, I had forgotten what she looked like after so long…

Underground stops to think, and chooses not to continue. Others begin to list off their answers.

Archie: I’ve been on so many, but I can’t say that a lot of them were pleasant enough to be considered my favorite. Beating Robotnik permanently wasn’t something I’ll ever forget though.

Arthur: I’m afraid I don’t leave the castle enough to have many of said ‘adventures’, though there are occasions when I assist The Knights of the Round Table during battle, I would say those are some of my favorite moments outside the castle walls.

Jester: I don’t leave King Shadow’s castle often enough to go on adventures either! I used to be a travelling bard though, and I’d say just entertaining and helping others was my favorite pastime!

X: Stopping the Metarex was… interesting… but I’d say going to Earth and stopping Egghead there will always be my favorite! The nature there was beautiful and there was a lot to explore, even if it would've only taken me about a day normally.

Boom: I guess putting a stop to the weird time travel thing Lyric was up to was the only time I could consider anything an ‘adventure’. Stopping Egghead in the village and never leaving doesn’t sound adventurous.

Nicky has become more familiar with the idea that he is sharing a body with another version of Sonic after Zonic had taken the time to explain it to him. He began to adjust to the information and had even tried to communicate with the other inhabitant of his body but had yielded no results.

Nicky: I- I don’t remember my time as Sonic… So, I can’t say…

OVA: I’ve gone on a lotta adventures, but my time with Metal still sticks out to me. I’ve never had a connection with someone like him before.

OVA looks around at the others, making sure that they didn’t question him too much after letting the idea that the two were connected slip.

Classic gets the attention of Modern, in order to try and get his older counterpart to answer for him. He says something in his version of sign language, which isn’t actual sign language, but Sonic’s own impromptu version of it.

Modern: Classic is saying that the adventures where he met his friends are his favorites, he wouldn’t trade them for anything!

Classic nods, further insinuating the statement. All of them look over at Fleetway and Scourge, not knowing if either will truly answer the question. Scourge just scoffs and turns away from the screen, refusing to answer, Fleetway begins to think about it.

Fleetway: I wouldn’t call having to save Mobius an ‘adventure’, I do it because I have to.

Modern: Come on, lighten up! You had to have had some kind of fun on at least one of them!

Fleetway glares, but doesn’t deny it.

Fleetway: Fine, I suppose some of my ‘adventures’ were enjoyable… others were certainly enough to make me not enjoy thinking back on any of them.

The others look away, knowing that was the best they were going to get out of him, Scourge would likely have said something about Zone Jail if Zonic were awake to hear it. Archie believes that breaking out wasn’t actually that fun for him, and Scourge just wanted to rub it in Zonic’s face. Another ding from the screen rings out.

Most of the hedgehogs think for a moment, but before any of them can answer they hear Fleetway mutter.

Fleetway: Chaos… I hate Chaos…

They look at him in questioning but know better than to think he will elaborate. Some look worried, thinking that his world’s version of Chaos might have done more damage than their own. Others who aren't familiar with Chaos grimace just at the name, thinking about what they could have possibly done to be a standout of hatred to Fleetway. They all look away when Fleetway scowls harshly at them.

Modern: I don’t really hate anyone, even if I don’t like what they do sometimes.

Classic nods, agreeing with his older counterpart. Movie and OVA both nod as well.

Archie: I hate Eggman, he’s despicable.

Modern furrows his brow, he himself has never been able to bring himself to hate the human, despite knowing that he probably should.

X: Dark Oak maybe, he did cause me and my buddies a lot of problems…

X pauses, lost in thought. It’s obvious to the others that he is leaving something out, but none pry.

Arthur: Nobody in particular springs to mind, only my advisors and their paperwork. Though they are simply doing their jobs.

Nicky: I-I don’t h-hate anyone, b-but Anton picks on me a lot… I think he’s mean…

Silent rage falls upon the room, Nicky was nothing but a sweetheart who didn’t deserve that kind of treatment. The unjust actions made even Fleetway scowl, despite the fact that Fleetway could be considered a bully himself.

Jester: Now now, no more of the negative attitude! Hatred is not worth the amount of fun one can have instead!

Jester manages to light up the room and cheer most of them up or at least distract them. Scourge notices that his name was seen as separate from most others just like the previous question and feels rather confused. Having someone acknowledge him as something other than another Sonic felt… different. He shrugs.

Scourge: Eh, I have too many people on my back to name, can’t say they ain’t fun t’ mess with though,

Fleetway looks over at Scourge, silently asking why he answered at all, but then recalls that he also answered and chose not to comment. The idea that he hated Chaos just came out, he hadn’t intended to say it out loud, but it was the first thing he had thought of at the moment. Another ding rings out.

‘NEXT QUESTION:

Do you sometimes consider your team as your family?

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Before anyone could answer the question, a yelp comes from the sky, but instead of seeing someone fall down to the floor, the hedgehog starts running in mid air, turning to a familiar blue blur.

Adventures: Tails? Where are ya Little Buddy?! Tails?! TAILS!

Adventures immediately starts tearing up the room, shoving the cushions off the couches, rummaging through the kitchen and quickly running into all of the rooms, except for Prime and Arthur’s which was still locked. All of the hedgehogs silently question if that is the same hedgehog who had… kissed their Robotnik after hearing that he was freaking out. It wasn’t until Adventures had finished tearing up the room that he looked around and noticed who was all around him.

Adventures: Woah! Am I seeing things or are there more handsome blue hedgehogs on Mobius than I thought?

Arthur: I’m afraid you aren’t on Mobius anymore, young man.

Adventures: Whaddya mean? Where is ol’ Lard belly? Did he do this? Where is Tails?!

Arthur: Calm down! No alternate version of the doctor is behind this, and I can assure you that Tails is fine!

Adventures: It’s good to know he’s fine, but I want him with me right now! Why are we here anyways?

Zonic: This is essentially an interview subspace, nothing that happens here will affect your world and Tails, as well as any of your current enemies will not know you left when you return.

Everyone turns to Zonic, who still looks as if he hadn’t slept at all, Scourge grins smugly but Zonic doesn’t spare him a glance, though it’s possible he didn’t notice at all. He closes the door to his room as he steps out.

Adventures: Well, just because he’s safe doesn’t mean I want him away from me!

Fleetway: What are you, his mum?

Adventures: Kinda? He calls me his mother sometimes. Father too.

The hedgehogs all pause; their silent theories all being confirmed.

Movie: Is anyone else gonna ask him, or should I?

Zonic: Ask him what? What happened while I was napping?

Just before Movie shouts out, he’s interrupted.

Archie: That was a nap to you Zonic?! You slept for… I don’t know how long but it was a while!

Zonic only nods, urging Movie to continue.

Movie: Why did you kiss your version of Eggman?! I mean seriously?! Why-

Adventures: Before I ask how you know about that, I could tell ya. I was undercover as a lady named Lucinda, Lard Belly tried to force her into marrying her, so I took her place instead.

Zonic: Lucinda ended up marrying a man named Lucas, they had fallen in love in school, but Robotnik locked him in his dungeon for 30 years after Lucinda refused to go out with him due to her love for Lucas.

Adventures is alarmed, not knowing how anyone could have known about that endeavor because it took place in the middle of the jungle.

Adventures: Okay, now I’ll ask, how the heck do you know about that?!

Zonic: Firstly, hello, my name is Zonic the Zone Cop, I am responsible for preventing universe ending disasters that relate to any variant of myself, Sonic the Hedgehog, in every Zone. Zones are pretty much what you all would call alternate dimensions. I have to watch other versions of myself to make sure that no Zone ending events occur, like time rifts, extraterrestrial destructive beings destroying the whole Zone, etcetera.

Adventures goes silent, processing.

Zonic: You are Adventures Sonic, your world works in an incredibly unique way, no Master Emerald, No Knuckles or Amy, the only other people in your world that aren’t solely unique to it are Robotnik, Tails, and Breezie. Your world works like a living cartoon.

Others are surprised to hear that, not only about the lack of normalities, but also because of the cartoon comment. It explains the way that he can fly through the air.

Zonic: Tails is safe, time has been stopped in your Zone until you return, all you have to do is answer some viewer’s questions and then we will go back. All of us are going by different names to avoid confusion, which is why I called you Adventures Sonic.

Adventures sighs, but nods. Zonic clears his throat, when the other looks over, Zonic gestures around the room, which is now a mess thanks to Adventures tearing it up.

Adventures: Oh, sorry.

Adventures flies around the room, fixing everything that he messed up in milliseconds, it all appeared to be a blur to most, but Zonic nods and gestures for Adventures to look over at the screen. The other obliges and looks over to the screen with the question and reads it.

Adventures: Tails is my only family, I don’t really have a team.

Zonic: I, unfortunately, can’t say I see my versions that way because I don’t spend enough time with them to form such a bond.

Arthur: The Knights of the Round table are the closest thing I have to a ‘team’, and I could consider them close enough to me to be family, but only a select few of them.

Adventures: Wait! Knights of the Round Table? Dontcha mean Knights of the Hound table? That’s what they’re called in my uh… ‘Zone’.

Zonic: No, it’s just your Zone that refers to them that way, that is King Arthur.

Adventures: There is a world where I’M King Arthur?! Wow!

Arthur humbly chuckles.

Movie: My team is already family! Tom, Maddie, Tails, Knux! All family!

Adventures raises a brow, wanting to ask who those people are, though based on what Zonic said, the sooner everyone answers, the sooner they can all leave.

Jester: My friends are ALL family!

Adventures looks at Jester, who looks like he’s wearing one of the disguises that he uses to trick Scratch and Grounder. The hedgehog has a cheesy grin on his face as well. Adventures get the idea that he might like that one.

Boom: I guess yeah, never really had anyone else…

Boom attempts to be nonchalant, both about his response and how surprised Adventures looks at his height.

Underground: My team is already family!

X: I wouldn’t trade mine for anything.

OVA: I consider Tails family, but I can’t say the same about Knuckles, I just don’t see him enough for that.

OVA considers saying something else, but chooses not to.

Archie: I consider the Freedom Fighters family, you can’t be any closer after fighting in a world devastating war.

Adventures looks alarmed at first to hear that, but then considers what would have happened if he had shown up and put a stop to all of Robotnik’s plans any later than he did.

Modern: Classic says yes, I do too, my friends are the greatest! Family doesn’t even begin to describe them all!

As expected, Scourge and Fleetway both refuse to answer, Fleetway doesn’t for a different reason than he usually provides though. He wouldn’t be caught dead admitting how much he cared. The screen dings.

‘NEXT QUESTION:

To Movie Sonic: How are you? I hope you’re doing good.

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Adventures looks around, not knowing which one is Movie Sonic.

Movie: I’m doing pretty good all things considered, I hope you’re doing good too strange viewer person!

Movie waves at the screen. Adventures wonders how long they will have to be here, tapping his foot impatiently. He misses his Little Buddy already. One last ding rings out.

‘LAST QUESTION FOR NOW:

To Zonic: Have you ever taken a pause from checking in the multiverse? It seems really difficult and tiring.

Zonic: If I ever took a break then there would be nothing to come back to after I came back. You’re right that it is difficult, and it’s certainly tiring, but I couldn’t live with myself if I let anything happen to any of the Zones all because I didn’t want to get out of bed in the morning. I would honestly consider this a good break, too bad I won’t remember it…

Some wince, they hadn’t realized how much pressure the tired hedgehog was really under at all times. Ears droop all across the room.

Zonic: I’ve dealt with it for longer then most of you have existed, relax. I need to show Adventures the ropes and tell him who everyone is.

They all eventually go back to what they were doing before, idle conversations continuing. Though some concerned glances were shot towards both Adventures and Zonic occasionally, for multiple reasons. Nicky, who was unable to answer the last question anyway, decides to walk over to the two.

Zonic: This is your room, the one who is supposed to be sharing with you isn’t here yet, you- Oh, hello Nicky, what do you need?

Nicky: W-Well… I… I haven’t answered anything since um…

Nicky points at Adventures.
Nicky: Since h-he got here and I just…

Adventures: Hey squirt, relax! You wanted to meet me huh?

Nicky nods.

Adventures: I’m not used to havin’ to introduce myself, it’s been a while. Especially not to another version of me!

Zonic: Nicky technically isn’t a Sonic actually.

Adventures: Then why is he here?

Zonic: Nicky here, may not be Sonic, but he does share a body with him.

Adventures’ eyes widen, though it looks rather unusual because his eyes function differently than others, as he doesn’t have eyelids.

Nicky: I um… only know be-because Mr. Zonic told me…

Adventures: Well squirt, why don’t we go make some chili dogs? All this talking is making me hungry!

Nicky nods excitedly, and they both wander off to the kitchen behind the bar. Scourge and Fleetway are both sitting at the bar by now, fully engrossed in their own conversation.

Nicky and Adventures have a good time making food for everyone, laughing and joking around. Jester joined in at some point, Adventures fit right in.

Chapter Text

[INT. - ??? - AFTERNOON?]

All of the hedgehogs are scattered around the room, some at the bar, some watching Movie run on the giant hamster wheel, some sitting on the couches and carpet, others in their rooms or in the kitchen behind the bar. Prime had yet to unlock the door to his and Arthur’s room. Arthur already assured him that he didn’t mind either the couch or sharing with Jester until his roommate arrived. Zonic has already confirmed that he doesn’t know who one of them is, the Zone that he comes from isn’t as technologically advanced, and has never needed intervention.

An unusual sound rings from the screen, louder and longer than before.

‘THERE WILL BE MORE QUESTIONS DURING THIS SESSION THAN BEFORE, WE ARE RECEIVING MORE THAN ANTICIPATED.’

The screen takes a moment before generating the question, all of the hedgehogs who are willing, (Everyone but Scourge and Fleetway) gather around closer to the screen.

QUESTION FROM ‘UnicornChao’:

To Boom: As one of your, in Fleetway's words, stalkers. I only said your Eggman is the best because of how funny he is. Like, he's still bad but you almost seem to have a kinda sometimes amicable relationship with him. You let him stay as a roommate with you and Tails for at least 3 days, You and Tails stayed at his place for like 3 days playing games, watching movies, drinking hot chocolate, eating cookies, making s'mores.
Cubot said Eggman wanted your approval so his password for his computer thingy was 'Chilidogs', Eggman gave your Tails dating advice, Eggman even has play days with your Amy to play that puppy board game. You even convinced him out of evil retirement because you were bored. There are other examples.

Can you even put a label on your relationship with your Eggman?

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Boom’s face flushes with embarrassment. It’s obvious he was not expecting to be called out. Others look over at him, confusion lacing all of their features. Furrowed brows and exasperated stares all boring into Boom, he looks away and tries to focus on driving the attention away from himself by answering as quickly as possible.

Boom: I uh… I’m not really sure? I never really thought about it?

Boom smiles awkwardly, feigning casualty. Zonic in particular could tell that the taller hedgehog was lying, but didn’t make any kind of remarks, Boom didn’t seem to like being the center of attention. It was unusual for him not to want the spotlight, so Zonic figures it must be more personal. Boom begins to become uncomfortable, avoiding direct eye contact with any of the other hedgehogs. Fortunately for him, a ding takes the attention away from Boom.

‘QUESTION FROM THE SAME USER:

To all (Mostly Zonic because he can answer the most accurately): Does anyone else have a decent relationship like that with their Robotnik's?

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Boom sighs in relief about having the focus shifted away from himself.

Zonic: I don’t believe so, Boom’s relationship with his Zone’s Eggman is unique. Though I wouldn’t consider it a bad thing, they’re happy with how they are. At least neither of them actually causes any world damaging issues. That usually only happens with the ones who despise each other.

Modern decides to butt in with his own thoughts, standing up and next to the Zone Cop.

Modern: After what happened on Starfall, I think maybe we aren't as bad as we were after the war… I still wouldn’t do what Boom did for his Egghead though, because it would definitely be a trap.

Boom: Well, uh… one of those WAS a trap, but it ended up backfiring on him.

Archie: Not surprising. I thought at least one more of those would’ve been though. Dating advice? Really?

Boom: That one was more between him and Tails...

Fleetway: Nutters, all of you lot.

Movie is heard laughing in the background, imagining his own Eggman doing that is hilarious to him, Fleetway’s comment makes it even better. Another ding.

A question for the Sonics who have an Amy(including Scourge):
What are your thoughts on Amy?

All of their eyes were on the screen, Scourge doesn't take the time to look at the image before responding though.

Scourge: Rosey is a lunatic. Batshit crazy, and not in a good way. Can’t stand her.

They all have become used to ignoring any snide comments from both Scourge and Fleetway, though Nicky still had yet to get over his flinching habit when it came to the two. Zonic and Archie do understand his response though. Those who are unfamiliar with Amy take the time to analyze the photo. Amy was in her usual red dress and wielding her hammer in the image, ready to swing.

Underground: I think Sonia would like her, and any friend of Sonia’s is a friend of mine!

OVA: She reminds me of Sara! That hammer really makes her look like she knows how to pick a fight!

OVA leans into his signature wink and thumbs up, almost as a reflex, though it isn’t disingenuous.

Modern: You got that right, Amy is strong enough to split Angel Island in half if she wanted to!

Some are unfamiliar with Angel Island, but assume that’s impressive. Nicky’s face is flushed red, still staring at the image. Classic is surprised that Amy gets to that level of strength in the future.

Nicky: She’s so pr-pretty!

A few of the hedgehogs' chuckle at the smitten boy, his tail is wagging, and his smile could light up a room.

Nicky: Is- Is that what MY Amy is g-gonna look like?! Wow!

Fleetway: She’s weird looking, why doesn’t she have her crossbow? What’s with the hammer?

Most look at him confused, others are offended by the snide comment, though they can’t say they are particularly surprised by his rude behavior anymore.

Archie: Crossbow? She uses a crossbow in your world?

Fleetway: …Yes?

He speaks as if that's the most obvious thing ever, Archie sighs and looks back toward the screen due to the other's overly rude attitude.

Archie: Huh… anyway, she’s cool, she comes through when you need her to, that's for sure.

Some pause, while others move past the brief questioning to provide their own answers.

Arthur: She looks quite similar to Lady Nimue, I must say. Though I imagine she is not known as The Lady of the Lake anywhere else.

Adventures doesn’t speak, just looking at the picture with a rather unusual expression on his face.

Jester: I’ve met someone who looks quite similar to her! She didn’t wield a hammer though, I hope she’s got a sense of humor!

Boom: Nah, Amy can be kind of a buzzkill, says that some of the things that we do for fun are ‘dangerous’ or ‘ridiculous’.

X: Are they dangerous?

Boom: Well, yeah, but that’s the fun part!

X: It sounds like she’s trying to look out for ya to me.

X winks at Boom, hands on his hips, naturally trying to be encouraging by instinct. All it succeeds at is flustering Boom.

Boom: Really? I mean- Wh-Whatever… I don’t care…

Chuckles ring out once more. Boom struggles to hide his embarrassment. The tall hedgehog pins his ears to his head, not used to not desiring the spotlight.

X: Amy is… nice. I could do without the clinging she does, but I care about her.

Movie: She looks cool! I can’t wait to meet her in my world!

Movie smiles, all are satisfied with their responses, then the screen removes the picture, and another line of text takes its place.

‘NEXT QUESTION. VIEWER ‘WhosGenderIsThis’ REQUESTS YOU ALL SHARE YOUR PRONOUNS. THEN FURTHER QUESTIONS FROM THEM WILL APPEAR.

A few appear confused, not knowing what that entails.

Arthur: Pronouns?

Modern: Yeah! Like he/him, she/her, and they/them. That!

Arthur: I don’t recall ever being asked that before… I’ve always been referred to as male and I will continue to refer to myself that way. Does that answer the question?

Arthur doesn’t sound like he’s attempting to be offensive, he genuinely sounds confused. It was at that moment that Modern remembered that Arthur is from an era in which asking questions like that was practically unheard of.

Modern: Don’t worry about it, King Arthur. It answers the question just fine. I go by he/him too.

Arthur: Aren’t all of us male? Have I misinterpreted someone’s identity?

Arthur looks around, all of the hedgehogs are expressing that he didn’t misinterpret anyone. All of them use he/him pronouns.

Modern: Listen, things are a bit different in later times, male and female don’t cut it for some people. All of us use he/him, and that’s all you need to worry about.

Arthur ponders, gears turning in his head, Arthur was not the only one who was confused before, but the King had spoken first.

Fleetway: What was the point in asking us that?

Fleetway, like King Arthur, doesn’t sound as if he’s intentionally trying to be offensive.

Modern: It’s outta respect, as I said, don’t worry about it.

Fleetway furrows his brow, another ding.

‘FROM THE SAME USER:

For Underground, have you ever used your guitar as an axe?

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Underground: I don’t think so? I might've hit a swatbutt or two with it, but as an axe not really. That’s a sick idea though! I’m totally trying that later!

Archie: What guitar? Why would you use it as an axe?

Underground perks up, realizing that he never showed anyone his medallion or it’s abilities. He rubs it briefly, causing it to glow and sparkle, shifting into his guitar.

Movie: Wow! Can you play some?! I’ve always wanted to learn guitar!

Underground nods, a guitar solo begins to ring out into the whole room as he begins to play. Underground doesn’t even have to look at the chords he’s playing, it’s like a reflex to him.

Archie: I still don’t get why you would use that as an axe, nice solo though.

Suddenly, a laser blasts out of the side of the guitar, it lands on the wooden floor, singeing and staining it slightly, like a bullet hole.

Archie: Oh. Never thought I’d see a guitar used as a weapon. Nice.

Underground grins in response.

Movie: Could you teach me how to play? That’s awesome!

Underground: Eh, it came naturally to me man, but I can try.

Movie: Yes!

Zonic: He can teach you after the questions, I’d rather be able to go back to sleep sooner rather than later.

Movie deflates in disappointment, but quickly gathers himself after another ding rings out.

Adventures: Hedgehog blue is the coolest color on the planet! I wouldn’t trade it for any other!

Scourge: I already switched once, and I’m sticking with green til’ the end baby!

Fleetway looks over at Scourge, mild shock lacing his features, he’s not the only one who had changed colors. He still wouldn’t tell anybody that, hardly anyone knew.

Modern: I’ve never thought about being any other color than blue, or even any other shade of it. I like being ‘The Blue Blur’.

OVA: I agree, I may be a lighter blue then some of you, but I wouldn’t trade it for any other!

None of the others seem to disagree, all not having any desire to change from their iconic blue. Instead of them all having to answer that individually the screen prevents them from having to.

To Movie Sonic: What is your favorite Halloween monster?

Movie climbs onto the back of the couch he was sitting on as he saw that the question was directed towards him.

Movie: Like zombies or vampires and stuff? I’m not sure, there are so many to choose from!

Modern: That reminds me of the time I turned into a Werehog.

Movie: Wait what?!

Archie: Same, I’ve been there. Can’t say it was fun.

Modern: It hurt to turn into for a while, but at least I met a good friend.

Archie nods, Movie is exasperated by how casual the conversation was about something so outlandish. Others around the three are as well.

Movie: Am I gonna become a werewolf?!

Movie shouts, remembering that Zonic had told him that the events in his Zone were similar to that of Modern's. Zonic steps up next to the three, Modern and Archie are behind the couch facing away from the screen while Movie is still sitting on the top of it.

Zonic: It’s possible, but it would be in the far future, it’s not something you need to worry about for the time being.

Movie sighs in relief, then shakes his head to gain his bearings and begins to think about his answer.

Movie: Now that I know I might become a big scary werewolf at some point, I’m gonna say vampires.

Modern and Archie both laugh either side of him, Movie darts his eyes back and forth between both of them.

Movie: What?! I don’t wanna be a werewolf! You said it hurt!

Modern: I got used to it, it was fine!

Movie: That doesn’t help!

Before the two could continue to argue, another ding interrupts them.

‘QUESTION FROM THE SAME VIEWER:

To Modern: When you were the Werehog during the Shattered World Crisis, did you think that you were stronger than Knuckles or Shadow?

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Modern: Speaking of the Werehog.

Modern paused, taking the time to think.

Modern: I never thought about it at the time, I was too busy dealing with said Shattered World Crisis, but now that I think of it… Maybe? Now I wish I could have it back for a day to test that out…

Movie: Why would you want that!?

Modern simply laughs.

Modern: And hey, who says I’m not stronger than Shadow already? He may be ‘The Ultimate Lifeform’, but I can still beat him any day!

Modern grins.

Ding.

X: Lightning rounds huh? Nice to see we're picking up the pace!

X rubs his chin, in thought for a brief moment.

X: I can’t say I’ve ever heard of that, do any of you guys know what that is?

Most shake their heads, unfamiliar with the site as well, others however…

Boom: That’s the site with all the weird pictures of me… Isn’t it?

Arthur: What is a site?

Archie: I think that would be too much to explain right now, King.

Arthur nods slowly, unsatisfied with the answer but wanting to move on quickly based on the uncomfortable looks on a select few hedgehog's faces.

Movie: Weird pictures?

Boom: You don’t wanna know, kid.

Movie: I kinda do…

Modern: No. No you do not.

Movie: But I-

Modern: I PROMISE you that you will regret it. Severely.

Movie is silent for a moment, looking between Boom and Modern, who are deadly serious about moving on as quickly as possible.

Movie: Ok…?

Boom: Next question.

Archie: But not every answe-

Boom: NEXT. QUESTION.

Boom seems to get his way, as another ding rings out.

‘NEXT QUESTION.

For Zonic, do you have any theories on how the other Sonics would react to the Chaos Energy in the Fleetway Zone?

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Fleetway looks at Zonic, curious himself about how his Zone’s Chaos Energy differs from others. Though he had yet to get up from his spot at the bar. Zonic nods at the screen.

Zonic: The others having any kind of reaction to that Zones Chaos Energy would be incredibly concerning. It’s the reason why I’m hesitant to ever step foot into the Zone myself. The energy there is unique in a multitude of ways. For starters, the grey Chaos Emerald. No other Zone has one, but it has the ability to nullify all Chaos abilities entirely. Not to mention the amount of Chaos Emeralds there, way more than the average seven.

Other Zones like Adventures, that have fewer Chaos Emeralds, have each of them stronger because of the fewer number of them. In fact, Adventures’ Zone is unique in this way as well, they can grant specific abilities. Immortality, invincibility, the ability to create life too. My initial thoughts were that because of the amount of Chaos Emeralds in Fleetway’s Zone, that they would be weaker than average.

I was incorrect in that assumption, based on when the Zone’s Robotnik got ahold of them, the energy was actually larger and much stronger than average. In Modern’s world, even when Neo Metal Sonic had the Master Emerald he wasn’t able to control all of time and reality. I assume that if another Sonic came in contact with Chaos Energy from Fleetway’s Zone, it would likely be overwhelming and cause a transformation not unlike Fleetway’s own super form.

Fleetway glared as a warning, signaling Zonic not to continue talking about it. Concerned looks were shot in Fleetway’s direction, but that was not taken gratefully.

Fleetway: Stop staring at me like I’m a bloody museum attraction!

Jester observes Fleetway, noticing how antsy and uncomfortable he looks, he begins to take action. He hopped in front of Fleetway with his gaze staring into the crowd, juggling balls in hand.

Jester: Yes! Let’s pay attention to something else instead! Like me! All of this talking is rather boring after all!

Fleetway paused, surprised that Jester attempted to take the attention away from him. Jester succeeds in preventing stares. Zonic takes that as confirmation to continue.

Zonic: Not to mention that his world’s version of Chaos is not a misunderstood being, he isn’t truly the God of Chaos at all, but rather a corrupt member of the Drakon species. Meaning that there is no one there that truly keeps Chaos in check, Tikal is not trapped within the Master Emerald as far as we know in his Zone either. No one truly keeps Chaos Energy in check there.

Zonic takes another look at Fleetway, who is extremely uncomfortable with Chaos being brought up. He decides to cut the rant short.

Zonic: I would go further in depth, but I’m afraid that I’ll have to save it for another time.

Fleetway lets his body relax when another ding rings out, Jester stops with his little distraction when all of the others stop facing Fleetway.

‘NEXT QUESTION:

Nicky jumps in surprise about having a question directed specifically towards him, in turn it also causes most others to look his way. He pins his ears to his head, not appreciating being stared at. Jester takes notice once more, opting to act as if his distraction had never ended and continues to force others to avert their gaze.

Nicky: Um… I-I do! I l-like music… I-it calms me down sometimes…

Nicky doesn’t go into any further detail. Most of the hedgehogs still have their eyes on Jester when the screen finally changes again.

‘THAT IS THE END OF THE LIGHTNING ROUND. QUESTION CONSISENCY WILL RETURN TO NORMAL.’

Nicky sighs in relief at seeing all of the hedgehogs go back to their previous idle chatter. He takes a moment and looks at Fleetway, who has a similar reaction of relief when he thinks nobody is watching.

Nicky silently wonders what that hedgehog could be hiding.

Chapter Text

[INT. -???- NEXT DAY.]

All of the hedgehogs got well deserved sleep after the chaos of the Lightning Round. Boom and Fleetway in particular hope to themselves that they didn't have to deal with another question directed towards them for a little while.

Boom was still getting over the embarrassment of being called out last time, while Fleetway didn’t want his super form to be mentioned again because of the unwanted attention it brought. Fleetway had noticed that Nicky had been shooting him concerned glances, and it irritated him enough to make him leave the room.

Scourge briefly questioned his seemingly random decision to leave, but let it go after Fleetway snapped at him. Scourge would have normally provoked him and started a fight, but with the number of blue hedgehogs surrounding them, he figured that it would be best not to. He was still recovering from escaping Zone Jail after all. That and all eyes were on the two after Fleetway shouted at him.

Fleetway was not the only one still holed up in his room, the only time that Prime would leave his room would be to take care of bodily functions, he was still upset about something, though none of them could get the poor guy to talk about what that could possibly be. It seemed to have started after the questions about Tails...

All of the hedgehogs were currently trying to distract themselves from the boredom that waiting for more questions usually brought. Archie and Zonic are looking on into the room, observing the others idly talking amongst themselves.

Archie: So, when do you think the last two guys will show up? It’s been a while.

Zonic glances at Archie, before shortly responding.

Zonic: I’m not sure.

Archie raises a brow.

Archie: You doing okay? You’ve been quiet since the lightning round ended.

Zonic sighs.

Zonic: I’m okay, though I’m concerned about Fleetway.

Archie: Fleetway? Why?

Zonic is silent for a moment, thinking.

Zonic: I fear I may have… upset him.

Archie: Upset him? Isn’t that guy always upset?

Zonic: No. I mean I fear I may have drawn unwanted attention to him after oversharing about his world’s Chaos Energy. I didn’t need to bring up some of the topics I did, I chose to despite knowing it might upset him.

Zonic and Archie both look over at Fleetway’s locked door, Zonic has guilt lacing his features, though due to how tired and unexpressive he was, not many could have noticed.

Archie: I didn’t wanna ask, but what is up with him? Why is he so sensitive about his super form?

Zonic: ...

Archie: Zonic?

Zonic: …His super form is… different. It’s not like everyone else’s. He… can’t control it. It acts as its own separate being, like Fleetway is nothing more than a vessel to it.

Archie: What about the Chaos Emeralds? Why did his fur turn yellow before?

Zonic: He doesn’t need to use them to transform. In fact, he doesn’t chose when he transforms at all. It seems to happen under extreme stress, but other emotions might play a role as well, nobody has ever looked into it because his super form is extremely dangerous.

Archie: Dangerous? Why?

Zonic: You know how other Sonic’s super forms are made of Positive Chaos Energy?

Archie: …Yeah?

Zonic: His is… out of wack, it’s not positive, but it isn’t negative either. If it were negative, it would look more like a different form another Sonic here has.

Archie looks around, trying to see if Zonic is giving any hints about which hedgehog he is referring to. Though Zonic is not giving anything away. Zonic sighs and looks away from both Archie and the door, his hands are shoved behind his back while his ears droop, like he’s ashamed.

Zonic: I didn’t want to share that with anyone… It’s Fleetway’s choice if he wants others to know, I only told you because… I don’t know, I wanted to get it off my chest, so please don’t tell any of the others. Can I trust you to do that?

Archie reaches a hand towards Zonic, though he turns around before Archie can rest it on his shoulder for comfort. Archie puts his hand down and silently nods. Zonic breathes a sigh of relief.

Zonic: Thank you.

Both stand in the now much more comfortable silence, though it isn’t truly quiet because of the idle chatter from around the room, until a familiar ding comes from the screen.

‘BEFORE WE GET INTO THIS SESSION, USER ‘UnicornChao’ HAS A MESSAGE FOR ADVENTURES SONIC.’ The screen reads, Adventures speeds over the wall that the screen is on and looks up at it.

Adventures: What’s up?

‘THIS USER EXPRESSES THAT THEY ALMOST FEEL SORRY FOR RUINING YOUR REPUTATION BEFORE YOU GOT HERE. IT WAS THIS USER WHO ASKED ABOUT WHY YOU PARTICIPATED IN A WEDDING WITH YOUR VERSION OF ROBOTNIK. AS THEY DID NOT GIVE ANY CONTEXT AS TO THE REASON WHY YOU WERE DOING SO AND ZONIC WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO DO SO ON YOUR BEHALF, BUT THEY THINK YOU LOOKED NICE IN THAT DRESS.’

Adventures goes silent, not expecting that to be brought up again. Other hedgehogs in the background look away, not wanting to be reminded.

Adventures: Whaddya mean 'almost'?

Adventures taps his foot as he waits for a response, but when he doesn't receive one, he sighs.

Adventures: … It’s cleared up now… I did what I had to.

He shrugs, confused as to why that isn’t normal, cross dressing and wearing different outfits is something he does constantly in order to trick Scratch and Grounder.

Zonic: Wearing different outfits like that is normal for him, he does it to trick his Zone’s Badniks, Scratch and Grounder, occasionally Coconuts and even Robotnik himself.

Movie: So he’s like a Looney Tunes cartoon?

Zonic: Pretty much.

Movie: Oh! That makes much more sense!

Adventures tilts his head, not knowing what that means. Several others are confused as well, both by Adventures’ methods, as well as what Movie is referring to.

Adventures: Walking PSA? What’s that supposed to mean?

Zonic: It means Public Service Announcement. In this case it also means that you announce things to others a lot, like during your ‘Sonic Sez’ segments.

Adventures: Oh! Those are a side thing I do, people think that because I’m the Hero of Mobius, that if I tell them what is right and wrong, that their kids will listen better.

Zonic: I see, I’ve never seen the aftermath of one of the segments, from my perspective it looks like you’re talking to someone who isn’t there.

Adventures: Nah, I’m looking at a camera.

Adventures winks, but he doesn’t seem to be looking at anything in particular.

Zonic: I suppose that confirms that he isn’t a ‘walking PSA’ as this viewer put it. Though I think it couldn’t be any more entertaining then what I do already, staring at monitors and occasionally going out on missions that could easily put an end to all life in an entire Zone as we know it.

Zonic doesn’t realize how much he rants. Others are concerned about the poor Zone Cop’s stress levels.

Movie: I’d love to be a cartoon character! But walking PSA? I’ll pass…

OVA: I’d rather listen to the story about Adventures marrying Robotnik again then have to do the same thing over and over again like that! I know I like to take down Robotnik over and over, but that feels a little different!

Several disgruntled noises of disgust wash through the room, but most seem to agree that they wouldn’t want to have to do the same thing over and over again like that, despite the fact that they all do the same song and dance over and over again with Robotnik. Those who didn't have Robotnik like Arthur, stopped paying attention to the conversation, knowing it wasn't relevant to them.

Adventures: Oh, come on, it’s not that bad! I like being able to help kids learn right from wrong!

Boom: Being a ‘walking PSA’ is a little different then helping kids learn right from wrong, they mean doing it constantly.

Adventures: It’s not the only thing I do!

Modern: We know, but that’s not what the question asked.

Adventures sighs. Another ding.

To Boom: Ok so I know, kinda, that Archie knows what it feels like, but Boom what's wrong with the people on your island?

There's a village that likes guilt tripping all visitors, there's this weird cult of frog people that live in your friend Sticks' basement closet thing, there's a lady who keeps losing her baby in high places.

Eggman sues you with the most fake barely any effort put in evidence and if Amy didn't interrupt the proceedings, I'm pretty sure you would've been found guilty.

When Eggman claims you stole his doomsday device (I think that's what it was) he calls the police and the villagers gasp while accusing you of stealing other stuff, then they make plans to convict you of said crimes. I heard one old lady saying she will poison you with one of her baked goods. Like you're lucky they sent your Knuckles, who no offense is the dumbest of all Knuckles variants, after you instead whatever they were probably planning.

When you called Mike "just a guy" when you refused to let him, a normal villager who has no battle experience, join you and friends fight, they gasp and become outraged. No one's on your side, then they take you to therapy, I don't care what Amy would call her group lessons it's obviously therapy. When you agree to let Mike join and he gets hurt they are still outraged and ask why you let him join when he's just a guy. When you say that it was them who pressured you while you called them "you people" they gasp and send you back to therapy. And when you finally quit, they are back begging you to save them for the most non-issue villains ever.
Like everyone on your island, they are so wishy-washy. There are probably more examples I haven't thought of.

What’s wrong with them?

Silence falls upon the room, shock on most of the hedgehogs’ faces. Eyes immediately all darted in Boom’s direction, he pins his ears to his head at the unwanted attention. He desperately avoided eye contact with everyone.

Boom: I uh… I don’t…

Scourge: Damn, why bother takin’ care of assholes like that?

Archie: I know what they mean by I can relate... but man...

Boom: …

Jester takes notice of how uncomfortable the tall hedgehog looks and attempts to distract everyone else.

Jester: Come now everyone! Eyes on me! You’d rather not be gawked at yourself would you?

Modern: No, but Boom, seriously, are you okay? That doesn’t sound good…

Boom doesn’t respond, simply turning away from the others, until he’s shoved forward by something latching onto his leg. He looks down to see Classic hugging him, which is unexpected for the normally rather snarky and attitude ridden hedgehog. Boom awkwardly pats the small boy on the head, before turning back to others. Jester has succeeded in forcing the unwanted stares to come to a standstill.

Boom: I… don’t know…? It’s just always been like that? Does that not happen in your Zones?

Boom already knows the answer, but attempts to stall anyway.

Boom: It’s just… The people can be very uptight I guess but… Do they really… Never mind, that ‘Just a guy’ thing rubbed me the wrong way when it happened, I only said what I did about Mike to get them off my back.

Classic lets go of Boom’s leg, looking up at him once more before going over to Modern and ‘saying’ something to him.

Modern: Classic wants to say that’s not normal man, you shouldn’t let them treat you that way.

Boom is quiet, before sighing.

Boom: I know… But I can’t really do anything about it… It’s not just me they treat like that anyways, it’s fine!

Boom lets an unconvincing smile worm its way onto his face. Modern walks over to the much taller hedgehog.

Modern: It doesn’t matter if you’re not the only one they treat like that, that doesn’t mean you aren’t being wronged.

Adventures: Yeah! That’s no good!

Archie: You shouldn’t let people walk all over you.

Boom: I guess…

He looks away, overwhelmed by the amount of hedgehogs talking to him at once. Modern takes notice and takes action, after the events on the Starfall Islands, he’s become a rather good person to talk to and he knows that.

Modern: Come here, let’s get you to your room, away from the others, we’ll talk in there.

Boom: But- okay fine…

Modern leads Boom over to his room, likely to have an impromptu therapy session, but a healthy one this time. Another ding rings out as they all hear the door click.

‘QUESTION FROM ‘One_and_only_immortality’:

to Scourge: Can you use Chaos Abilities? (chaos spear, chaos control, etc.) you do have the powers of the master emerald after all.

‘TAKE AS LONG TO ANSWER AS YOU NEED.’

Scourge: I wouldn’t normally answer a question from a stalker, but that one’s got me thinkin’... I’ve never tried it… I know just who I could use a test dummy though!

Scourge looks at Zonic, who sighs begrudgingly at the idea. Others look over and get into attack ready positions as warning for the green hedgehog to back off. Scourge puts his hands up mockingly.

Scourge: I’m just kiddin’ blue boys, can’t take a joke?

Scourge grins smugly, Archie comes up behind him and smacks him on the back of the head.

Scourge: Ow! Hey!

Archie: Shut up Scourge. Don’t even think about testing that out in here.

Scourge: What are you gonna do about it?

Archie: You wanna find out?

Zonic: Hey, both of you, enough. We don’t need this room to become a wrestling ring.

Scourge: What if I want it to be?

Zonic: You’ll do good not to, or I could put this on you again.

Zonic holds up a familiar looking collar, Scourge immediately backs down, surprised to see that Zonic had a No Zone collar in his possession.

Scourge: Whatever… stupid fuckin’ Zone collar…

Archie: Have you had that the entire time?

Zonic: Yes, but Scourge hasn’t tried to start a fight until now so I haven’t had to threaten him with it. Thankfully I had it on me at the time I was transported.

Archie: You got that right, at least that will get him to back down without me needing to fight him.

Scourge: I’m right here y’know!

Archie: I do know, now be quiet.

Scourge: Make me Blue Boy!

Archie: I can, but Zonic can do it better.

Scourge growls, but backs down once more. Archie looks back at the crowd, and notices Nicky shivering. He darts over to the small hedgehog and crouches down.

Archie: Hey, it’s okay now Nicky.

Nicky: Pl-please do-don’t fight…

Archie: We won’t, don’t worry about it.

Archie continues to comfort Nicky, while others want to help as well, they have already learnt that Nicky doesn’t do well with being crowded around.

Ding!

Movie: Oh! I love playing Mario Kart! I always beat Tails and Knux! Knux usually ends up breaking the controller though… I’ve never played Kirby games but I’ve always wanted to! I keep trying to get Tom and Maddie to buy me some but I always forget until my allowance money is already gone…

Movie’s demeanor shifts to one of disappointment, until Underground taps him on the shoulder.

Underground: You wanted to learn guitar, didn’t you? I gotta warn ya, it isn’t easy, you can’t learn it over night!

Movie immediately perks back up, and runs around in excitement, the two leave the room and go to Underground’s to make sure Movie didn’t accidentally fire a laser and shoot someone with it.

Movie: Heck yeah!
