Work Text:

Rumi never thought that meeting with the enemy several times would result in her sleeping with him.

Granted, she originally was doing this to get information out of him, but as they got to know each other, from learning more about demon patterns to their thoughts and feelings, her own feelings for him started to grow, especially when she realizes that he himself is a victim of Gwi-Ma’s controlling power. Perhaps it was because Jinu was the only one who knew about her patterns and helped hide them from her friends at the bathhouse when she wasn’t ready to tell them about it, for fear that they would see her differently.

Days leading up to the Idol Awards, she comes up with a plan with Jinu; he sabotages the Saja Boys so that Huntr/x can win to gain a better chance of sealing the Honmoon and turning it gold. At first he was hesitant but as they met up again the day before the Idol Awards, it took some realization for the both of them to fix their problems; her voice was healed, and Jinu couldn’t hear Gwi-Ma’s voice anymore.

To her surprise, Jinu was the one to kiss her first as a thank you; soft, inviting, enough to make Rumi weak in the knees and wanting more. One thing leads to another as they both quietly snuck into Huntr/x Tower, trying their best not to wake Mira and Zoey before getting lost in each other. He asks her if she was sure about going further, she replies with a determined “yes”. In their haste, Rumi’s hair had loosened from its iconic braid, Jinu quietly undoing it with his fingers, loosening the locks until they flowed down her back.

“Why don’t you wear your hair down more often?” he asked her, cupping her cheeks. “It gets in the way. Can’t fight demons with my hair in my face,” she quipped. He lets out a small laugh before he steals a kiss from her lips as they fall back on her bed.

Although he was a demon, he was nothing but gentle with her, calling her “beautiful”; something she never felt in her life as she thought the marks made her look monstrous. His hands caressed her body; fingers and mouth touching her in places only she herself had explored before. She was reduced to nothing but a panting, moaning mess when he entered her for the first time, their foreheads touching, lips meeting in a frenzied kiss to mask the noises coming from her mouth. She wasn’t sure how many times they went at it but she was tired by the end of it, only exchanging lingering kisses with him before they both fell asleep.

Now, here they were, the morning after, curled up close with Rumi’s head on Jinu’s chest, their clothes strewn all over Rumi’s bedroom after a passionate night. She’s the one to wake up first, having expected him to be gone before she awoke, but something deep inside of her was happy he had stayed. Her eyes blinked away at the sunlight streaming through the curtains from her balcony window as she made an attempt to sit up, only for Jinu to tighten his grip on her, making her flop back onto his chest with a squeak.

“Jinuuuu, I wanna get up,” she whines, wriggling in his hold. A low chuckle rumbles from beneath his chest as he pretends to be asleep. “Five more minutes,” he replies, his voice gravely in a way that makes Rumi’s cheeks flush red, giving her the urge to pin him down on the bed and make love to him again.

Fuck it, why not?

Slowly, she starts to kiss the patterns on his chest, leading up to his neck, jawline, cheek. Jinu let out a groan, opening one eye to look at her, fangs showing. “Is that supposed to wake me up?” he teases lowly as their lips finally meet lazily.

“Is it working?” She asks lowly, her hair falling in her face. Jinu reaches up and brushes a strand behind her ear. “I don’t know, I probably need some more convincing,” he leans up and plants kisses on her neck where her patterns glowed. She closes her eyes, a soft mewl escaping her lips when suddenly, a knock echoes on her door.

The two lovers pause their activities, staring at the door with wide eyes. Rumi knew she locked it the night before but the panic of A) Mira and Zoey seeing her patterns, and B) Seeing their leader and the so-called enemy in loving embrace sent a chill up and down her spine.

“RUMI! Are you awake yet?” Zoey asks from the other side of the door. “We have rehearsals for the Idol Awards in an hour! We were supposed to get ready together!” Mira adds on. The door knob wiggles in an attempt to open her bedroom door.

“Shit, they can’t know you’re here!” Rumi whispers to Jinu as they both scramble off the bed, collecting their clothes in the process.

“Also, we’re trying to decide what we want for breakfast? I was thinking waffles, pancakes, or maybe we should stop by the 7-11 down the street? Ooh, actually that sounds like a good idea, I could go for banana milk and kimbap right about now, unless you guys want something else, I’m down for anything!” Zoey rambled, mostly to herself. Rumi could hear Mira groan at Zoey.

“I-I’ll be out in a sec, you guys go ahead without me-AHHH!” Rumi stutters out, only to trip over a combination of her own hair and the blanket, falling to the floor. “Ow,” she whimpers, silently cursing over her long locks.

“You okay?” Jinu whispers, kneeling down, half dressed, trying his best not to laugh. Rumi huffs, a pout on her lips. “Really?” she glares softly at him. “I’m sorry-” “Rumi?” the girls called again. “Shhhh, they’ll hear you!” Rumi hissed, one hand slamming on top of his mouth to quiet his voice while the other held the blanket around her torso.

“Was that a thud? Did you fall over or something?” Mira asks. “Should I call Bobby, or Healer Han?” Zoey chirps. “I have him on speed dial!” “Of course you have him on speed dial,” Rumi could picture Mira’s head shaking in fond disbelief at the maknae.

“I’m fine, in fact, I’m not even that hungry!” She lies through her teeth as Jinu slowly helps her up.

“Not even hungry- You know what, that’s it, we’re coming in. Zoey, hand me a bobby pin,” As the girls make an attempt to break into their leader’s room to check on her, Rumi scans her room to try and find a spot for Jinu to hide in. A lightbulb goes off in her head as she comes up with the brilliant idea to hide Jinu in her closet, shoving the latter inside.

“Stay quiet,” she instructs, closing it behind, dropping the blanket that shielded her body, running to grab her bathrobe and hastily throwing it on before racing to her bedroom door before the girls themselves unlock it. She takes a deep breath and opens a crack, enough that her head popped out but her neck and the rest of her body weren’t exposed.

“Morning, girls!” Rumi feigns a yawn as she greets her bandmates. Both girls were in the process of getting ready, Mira with under eye patches beneath her eyes and Zoey with a toothbrush in her mouth, both were clothed and ready for the day. “How come you aren’t ready? Normally you’d be dressed and waiting for us at the elevator by now,” Mira asks, her arms crossed over her chest as she eyed Rumi suspiciously.

“I, uh, didn’t sleep well and wanted to get some more rest, but I should be getting ready soon.” she fibs.

Mira and Zoey look at each other and then back at Rumi. “Are you sure you’re okay?”

“Oh yeah, I’m fine! Just excited to perform tonight,” she laughs nervously. “I, uh, was just about to hop into the shower before we headed out. Actually, you guys can go to 7-11 without me!”

The two were silent for a moment before Mira let out a sigh. “Okay,” Mira nods slowly. “What did you want for us to get you?” Zoey asks. “Uh, surprise me, just no dairy. I want to be able to hit those high notes without phlegm getting in the way.” Rumi instructs.

“Fine, but you better be ready by the time we get back.” Mira tells her.
“I promise I’ll be ready, now go!” she insists, shooing them away. “Alright, alright!” Zoey lets out a nervous laugh, though Mira stays silent, as if she could sense something was wrong, but decided not to go further into it as she and Zoey but turn and leave.

Rumi closes her bedroom door with a sigh. “Phew, that was close,” Jinu says from behind her. Rumi yelps, turning to see Jinu dressed. She takes a deep breath, her hand over her chest. “Yes, but I can tell Mira’s onto me though,” she sighs.

They both sit on her ottoman, inches apart from each other. She bites her nail nervously.

“I really hope this plan works, singing “Golden”, winning the Idol Awards, and turning the Honmoon gold for good.” she looks over at him.

Jinu is quiet at first, but then he nods. “Yes,” he replies. They sit in silence once more.

“What happened last night, did it mean anything?” Jinu asks. Rumi turned to look at him surprised that he was the one to ask. Did it mean anything? What if he was using her the same way she initially was. The whole plan was to get information out of him, and now, not only has he seen her in her most vulnerable state, she lost her virginity to him.

“You were my first,” she admits to him. “I wouldn’t have agreed to it if I wasn’t okay with it.” she answers instead. “I’m not sure how I feel, but I don’t regret what happened last night, or what was about to happen this morning,” they both laugh softly.

“I, uh, guess that’s my cue to leave.” Jinu stands up. “I’ll see you tonight?” he asks her. She nods. She then feels Jinu take her hand in his, kissing the back of it.

“Good luck,” he tells her.

“You too,” Her face burns red at the gesture, and just like that, he disappears in a puff of red smoke.

Notes:

I wasn't expecting to write another RuJinu fanfic so soon after my first one, which took a month to write and finish, but I couldn't help it when the idea of Rumi and Jinu in bed together, nearly getting caught by Mira and Zoey, popped into my head.
