Nico

‘Come on, death boy!’

‘Death boy?’

‘So, what do you want me to call you then?’

‘Call me by my name! It’s Nico, if you aren’t aware!’

‘You know that’s a bad film,right? I didn’t even like it. It’s a bad Gay representation! Don’t even remind me of the age gap.’

‘What?’ What is he talking about? Gay Film?

‘After these three days, my job is to update you with all the pop culture, films, movies that you missed. Especially Star Wars!’

‘I have no idea what you are talking about.’

‘You will! Now let’s get you checked.’

See, I didn't want to be here at all. I was forced to be here by this blonde man. I’m not even sure why I accepted his offer. Maybe, I was cursed to listen to him! Will Solace, Sun of Apollo, his long curly golden hair and sky-colored eyes stood out against his sun-warmed complexion, his muscular build makes anyone fall in love with him. I’m getting sidetracked! Anyways, my mission is to finish this three day mission and get the hell out of here.

We walked to the infirmary. Will opened the door to the infirmary and I was surprised to see a mini hospital. I have never been here before. It was like any hospital you’ve seen. White tiles and walls, smell of antiseptic and disinfectant, a sharp, high-pitched clink, like coins tapping together of the scissors, the overlapping voices of multiple people speaking, the sound of footsteps Apollo kids running around to attend patients. The atmosphere was busy. I followed Will to a private room since all the normal ward beds are full. Will instructed me to sit on the bed. I placed my stygian iron at a table nearby. He washed his hands in the sink and wiped his hands with a towel. He went to the cabinet and pulled out some gloves from the boxes and walked towards me.

‘Is it fine if I touch you? I need to examine your wounds.’

‘Yeah.’

‘Okay. Let me know if it hurts.’

He pulled out his stethoscope from his pocket and placed it on my chest and checked my breathing. He also checked my arms, leg and my head for injuries. I told him that my leg and chest hurts when I breathe.

‘Hmm. So do you mind taking off your shirt? I need to check whether you have any injuries on your body.’

‘Yeah, Sure’

I took off my jacket and shirt placed on the table. He examined my body and told me that I have some infected wounds and there’s some possibility that my ribs were broken. He bandaged all of my my wounds and gave me some ambrosia and nectar and I popped it in my mouth, chased it with water. I put on my shirt while he was taking off his gloves and washing his hands.

‘So, I hope ambrosia and nectar will help you a bit. But, I want you to rest well. Like I have told you no “underworld business” until I said so! If you listen to all of my advice and rest well then I will discharge and clear you to use your power!’

‘You only said three days?’

‘Yeah! Three days in the infirmary and I need you to come back for follow up. It depends on your body health. Then, I can think about letting you use your power. Maybe 2 weeks? give or take.’

‘2 weeks? Why should I listen to you? I’m the son of h- ’

‘I don’t care who you are. I’m the healer here, so I want you to listen to me!’ says Will. ‘ I get that you don’t like me bossing you around but I care about you. Darkness surrounds you, you are physically weak. If you rest well and eat healthy you can go back to feeling healthy again. Yea? So just stay here and do what I say. Doctor’s Order!’ He frowned, his brows knitting together.

‘Arghh! Fine’

‘There you go Mr. Dark Lord. ’ Will said will a teasing look.

‘Who said that you are good at giving nicknames? You are giving me a stroke with all your stupid names!’

‘Okay! Whatever you say, Sunshine! Rest well! I will get back to you after dinner.’

‘You are the Sunshine! Not me!’ Will chuckled.‘Now rest we can bicker later!’ Will walked towards the door and left the room. I was getting sleepy. I lay down on the bed and I was thinking about this interaction with the annoying blonde. Honestly, I liked getting on his nerves. He looked cute when he frowned. I couldn’t stop blushing thinking about it. Why am I thinking about him, anyway ?

He is an annoying, bossy person. Yeah, I agree he is attractive but he’s probably straight anyways. I’m not going through the “crush on a straight boy” again. I was getting drowsy. I fell asleep thinking about the blond boy’s smile.

Chapter Text

Today is going pretty well than I expected. I forced the son of Hades to stay in the infirmary for three days. I checked and treated his wounds. I hope he can rest for a while. I left his room and walked towards the general wards. The crowd I saw when I entered earlier were gone. I’m guessing the crowds mostly consisted of visitors. I saw Kayla sitting on desk and writing the reports.

‘Are there any serious cases?’ I asked Kayla.

‘Not really. Most of them are discharged, especially the Romans. Some of them just need follow ups.’ she answered.

‘That’s good to hear! I think it’s time for you and Austin to take a break. Inform the other Apollo kids too. I can handle it after this.’

‘You need some rest too! You are awake for nearly 3 days! Please eat and take a nap, you can take over after dinner. We can handle until then.’ she protested.

‘I know my li-’

‘Will! Please go and sleep or I will inject you with sleeping medicines!’

‘Oh! Okay! Damn, relax girl!’ Honestly, Kayla is scary when she yells. I know that she’s concerned about me. Also, I probably should have taken a break too.

‘You better leave now or I will kick you in the groin’

‘Okay! Take care, please! Just wake me if anything happens.’

‘Sure, brother! Now please leave!’ I chuckled.I headed for the exit, my hand on the doorknob when Nico suddenly came to mind.

‘Hey!’

‘What now?’ she frowned.

‘Nico is in Room 2. He’s sleeping now. Get him some lunch, he might be hungry after the nap.’

‘Don’t worry about it!’

I thanked Kayla and I left the infirmary. I walked towards Cabin 7. I looked up and I’m guessing it’s nearly three in the afternoon. It was a hot day, and sweat made me feel sticky. I just needed a shower to feel fresh again before taking a nap. I went to my bed and prepared my clothes for the shower. I took off my clothes and I wrapped a towel around my waist. I took off my hearing aids and headed towards the bathrooms. The shower was nice, the cool water washing away the sweat and heat of the day. My skin felt clean, light, and fresh afterward, the heaviness gone. Stepping out, I wrapped a towel around my waist, the soft fabric warm against my skin as the last drops of water ran down.

After drying off, I got dressed in my favorite pajamas. By the time I lay down, exhaustion sank in deeply. The pillow felt cool against my skin, and before I could even think twice, my eyes closed. Sleep took over the moment my head touched the pillow.
