Chapter Text
The sun shone bright, beating down on him as he finally managed to start to pry open his eyes. It wasn't exactly comfortable, staring directly at the sun after being unconscious for... who knows how long. But this did not feel, smell, or look like Hateno Village. Soft grass was under Link's fingers, long but not covering, and there was the distinct smell of just outside surrounding him. Link forced his eyes completely open, shielding the sun with his hand and sitting up. He looked around, taking in and analyzing his surroundings. This could have been Hyrule, it was just grassy field for what seemed like kilometers, but the sky was different. A very clear reddish-orange colour despite being seemingly the middle of the day. It was still bright out, not hazy. Link narrowed his eyes a bit. What could he remember last...

Link followed Sidon through Zora's Domain, eyes briefly scanning his surroundings, but he'd been here so often that he was used to the view. Link was curious as to what it was that Sidon had asked him here for. It wasn't... unusual for Sidon to simply just want Link to visit, but this time Sidon seemed more serious, more quick to get down to business.
"Thank you for your quick arrival. I didn't want to bother you with this, but you may want to see this." Sidon explained as they walked. He led Link into a room Link hadn't yet been in before, though he didn't like to snoop anyways.
Link looked around curiously, before his eyes landed on a glowing orb in the middle of the room, floating, and it absolutely captivated Link almost immediately.
"Mipha brought it to me yesterday morning. She said it appeared, manifested like a dream before her." Sidon looked at Link's face, which had an expression he'd never seen before on the hero. Link wasn't even paying attention to Sidon anymore, which was heavily surprising.
Link took a step closer towards the strange orb.
Sidon tensed. "A-Are you sure that is safe-?"
Link didn't do anything in response to Sidon's worries, instead he reached out towards the orb and...
Blacked out.

Huh, must have been the orb that brought me here... Link thought to himself. But where in Hyrule was here anyways? Link stood up, figured he should probably cover some ground or figure out who or what summoned him here. It was like that orb had been speaking to him. Link thought he was alone. Thought.
There was rustling, and Link spun around quick, taking out the Master Sword, and pointing it in the direction of the sound.
Stood before him was a... child?
And Frisk certainly didn't expect to be on the pointy end of a sword from the blonde dude they'd been observing for a few seconds when they finally woke up. Certainly weren't in the underground anymore. or... anywhere near Mount Ebott for that matter. Where was Toriel? Or Sans? All there was was this guy pointing a sword at them and watching them warily.
Frisk put their hands up defensively, making a soft, worried noise. Link eyed them, but the child didn't look like much of a threat. Strange clothing for a Hylian, but not a threat. He sheathed his sword and took a step back, still eyeing Frisk.
Frisk breathed a sigh of relief as they were no longer in danger, fiddling with their fingers nervously, also eyeing Link, silent. Link, noting the body language, gave a small wave as a 'hello', to which quickly returned, relaxing a bit. Their mom was literally a giant goat, a weird elf man shouldn't be that scary.
Link looked around again, Frisk doing the same, though quickly snapped their eyes back to Link when he moved closer swiftly, but stayed in front of them... shielding them? He'd redrawn his sword, and was now facing away from Frisk, turned towards a man in the distance staring at them. Brown hair, and what Frisk would call boring adult clothes, he looked confused, surprised, and a little horrified.
Link stared at the man, not necessarily angry, but definitely on the defense.
Stanley was here in a daze, he woke up from the last reset in a field of green. Notably, the last reset had been... glitchier than others, and The Narrator had been scrambling to keep up and something was clearly going on. Now all was quiet. Stanley didn't even hear The Narrator, as much as his ears strained to listen. And there were people here. A strange pointed-ear teenager and a young child he seemed to be protecting. Stanley couldn't talk still, bummer, but he hoped that by some chance they understood ASL. Stanley moved his fingers together in an 'X' to ask for 'name'?
Link paused. How did he know Hylian sign language? He had round ears, not like his own pointed ones.
Frisk was still hiding behind Link's legs slightly, but they peaked out. 'F R I S K' they signed out with an outstretched hand. Link's eyes widened. The child knew Hylian sign language as well? Well maybe they could both be trusted. Link didn't sheath his sword though.
'L I N K' he signed. Though the confused look from the two strangers told Link maybe Hylian sign language was not what they were signing, but something similar.
'P I N K'? Frisk signed confusedly. They'd heard some pretty bizarre names in their time in the underground, but Pink still seemed bizarre. Link tilted his head slightly and nodded but then realized his mistake, changing his known sign for 'L' to a simple 'L' with his fingers. Realization dawned on both Frisk and Stanley.
'L I N K' Stanley repeated to just be sure. Link nodded, then tilted his head slightly, questioningly at the brunette a few meters away.
'S T A N L E Y' he signed out. A non-threatening name, Link decided, and put his sword away for now.
Though Linkwas quickly thrown off guard and nearly fell over at the feeling of claws on his leg climbing up. He scrambled to get whatever attacked him off and Frisk had flung themself away from Link, more towards Stanley.
The thing climbed Link until it reached his shoulder and laid limp over it. Link glanced, prepared to fight, but all he saw were pointy ears and orange fur.
Frisk's face lit up at the sight of a cat, and Stanley decided it was for the best to avoid it lest he want to start sneezing up a storm.
Link was... surprised, but not off-put. He smiled a bit and brought a hand up to the cat's chin, scratching gently, earning a purr and delighted meow.
The cat was wearing a strange backpack, a vest almost, and while it should've been a confusing thing, it wasn't the weirdest thing about this world.
Link looked back up, Frisk and Stanley followed his gaze since he seemed the most knowledgeable.
Frisk was wondering if this was some reset gone wrong accidentally.
Stanley was wondering what the hell The Narrator had done now.
Link knew they needed shelter. He signed that out to Frisk and Stanley. And all the while the cat was still hanging out on his shoulder, not looking to move.
Frisk and Stanley nodded after a few moments, deciding to trust Link, and off they went through the field, to hopefully find some sort of shelter. Or some sort of answer.
